I just want to share my ideas that will definetly make the game more appealing,more fun, more balanced (hopefully), and if someone disagrees he is free to leave a comment.
- First, the game needs to actually be a horror game. Now the game is only horror for new players and as you get better and play more it feels more like a competitive than a scary one. The maps need to be darker or have some more creepy ambients to them. It would be cool if every map had a 50/50 chance of being day or night.
- Camping can be removed entirely if the killers can't use M2 (second ability button) when they are near the hook and not in a chase.
- Genrushing could be removed too if the survivors needed to find some generator parts before they can start repairing them
- I have seen a lot of people that never played the game get super excited about all the licensed horror characters being in DBD and really want to play the game. The experience however isn't that scary and doesn't always match the kiler facing. This were only my opinion and I would like to hear others.
Definitely a necessary change because how are you gonna call yourself a horror game if Minecraft can be scarier than DBD😂

In all of my Killer games since they nerfed it, I think I’ve seen this perk used twice. And every time it has been used, I downed them almost immediately afterwards.
Playing as survivor, when I tried using the perk, every time I struck the killer, the killer would almost immediately down me again unless I was downed in a pallet dense area.
Against nurse or blight, DS was completely useless. Regardless of where I was downed I would immediately get down within seconds afterwards.
Prior to the nerf, survivors had been “weaponizing” the perk. So I understand the need. But I think a bit more finesse was needed.
My suggestion is to increase the perk’s strength the longer and closer the killer stays to your hook.
Perhaps every 10 seconds the killer stays near the hook the stun duration increases by 0.5 seconds. And if the killer is within 6 meters when the unhook animation ends, DS gets another 0.5 second stun duration.
And if the killer stayed within 6 meters of the hook for 50 second but the survivor gets rescued and then manages to DS the killer he gets
permanently banneda max 5 second stun.I suggested that decisive strike become an item instead of an keep where it has its charges and can have its own add ons so make it more useful. It would make Franklins more useful for killers and for survivors more useful to get away from killers multiple times if they are being tunneled

Hi everyone, I was thinking about a new way to promote perk diversity while adding a secondary objective for survivors. When thinking about this, I tried to come up with a way for survivors and killers to feel more of a connection to their build, personalizing it in a ‘free’ way.
The way this would be accomplished would be a fifth perk slot for both survivor and killer that can only be used on a certain category of tags added to each perk. These tags would be hex perks for killers and aura reading perks for survivors. Killers would get a free fifth perk slot that can only be filled with a perk coded with the Hex tag. This would add a secondary objective for survivors and slow down gens without increasing their time. This would also allow for more hexes to see an increased usage rate as killers become more comfortable with them in their builds.
Survivors would be able to fill this perk slot with any perk tagged with aura reading. Doing this would allow survivors to specialize their build based on what they want to accomplish in the match. Whether this be windows of opportunity, alert, empathy, bond, empathetic connection, etc. This addition would also provide new value to the blindness status affect, which is often considered useless. This would be an update both sides would appreciate and bring new depth to load outs and gameplay.
@DjEnderFox107 said:
With DBD constantly adding a new killer and multiple survivors each chapter adding 3 new perks there will soon become an abundance amount of perks to choose from.
Adding A Fifth Perk slot would also add more combinations and builds as there are plenty of times that an extra perk slot would be need to make to a build perfect.
With how much perks are getting nerfed ,especially on killers, adding an additional slot would make that perk without it being completely useless and an waste of an slot.
With how the game is currently it’s not a necessary change but I would hope for the future or to make games a little more balanced more perk slots should be added Even possibly making Killers having Six perks slot and Survivors only having Five slots
I posted something like this before so if you want to see what the community has to say about it, here ya go😅

Yes, but it needs lot of balance and also chase potential/insta down. A killer with the only abilty to turn into a survivor is cool, but crap in terms of chase potential. You gave me an idea however on how to make a "Shapeshifter", let me jot down some notes and maybe I'll give you a concept of how to make a strong killer "Shapeshifter"
I’ve already thought of a shapeshifting killer and emailed BHVR about it but they didn’t care too much about it. My ideas were to make the shapeshifter into a character like oni where you have to collect blood to use your power and almost like knight where once you collect enough blood from one survivor you can then switch out between survivors and pick them to shapeshift. As for the chase mechanic it would be like wraith where once you exit your power you get a speed boost
-
@Steakdabait said:
the idea sounds cool on paper but it'll just end up used like how breakable walls are used and create god set ups until you just kick the window. Maybe a more interesting way to do breakable windows is to make it so the window can only be vaulted so many times before they break.
Yes and you’re right! When y’all comment on these discussion and I get y’all point of view it really makes me rethink about them and how they are being used!

@ehe said:
I prefer it as a perk, something like this:
(insert perk name)
- After damaging a generator, that generator is blocked for (x) seconds.
- only one instance of (perk) can be active at once.
Could make 3 gens more oppressive, but as long as the duration isnt like 30 seconds I think it'd be fine. Plus with the kick meta nerfs the killer cant really just guard a 3gen at 5gens and play for late game.
I think it should last about 15-20 seconds.
Definitely could this is as a perk! I was just thinking at it as well for the killers just to camp the heck out of gens unless they added more gens in the maps
-
@randonly said:
some older maps have an abundance of unnecessary breakable walls, even around outdated loops.
I don't think it's necessary to add more one-sided interactions (only on the killer's part), which is a waste of time (some breakable doors are even traps in some maps), unless they put perks to rebuild broken locations, etc.
Is more easy devs replace strong windows (which are few nowadays), with pallets, like the one in the garden of joy kitchen. Most of those windows that have been strong in the past are either closed or positioned near breakable doors to turn around
True true! I can see that, but that’s what I meant to say😅 where breakable walls are already useless as it is so you can replace them with breakable windows to make it useful for survivors and give more of a reason for killers to break them. But regardless of the topic I do agree breakable walls have become useless and only gave the devs a quick way to fix powerful loops

you know that change they did for Pinhead where the box teleports if you standstill on it for 15 seconds? (might be wrong on the duration) Why not do that for face camping? Do essentially what PyramidHeads ability does and teleport that hooked player to the other side of the map. It's too close to a survivor? Tough, you shouldn't be camping at point blank range for x amount of time (say 60 seconds? 30?) Just random thought.
No survivor or killer bashing ffs, just wanting a fair game for both sides, even as -le-shock- a killer main.
Trust me a lot of people have tried to say that the pyramid head cage idea would be the best for hook camping but most of the community don’t see as a thing that can happen especially since it is exclusive to him only. I’ve tried to discuss something similar and it got shut down really quickly 😅

Right now, the community is pulling Dead by Daylight in every other direction. But maybe adding two more generators could fix this up. If we add two more generators then I feel the Trial will have enough time for killers so that we wouldn't have to dismantle these other issues, we wouldn't need to. From the recent PTB we see them address the issue, just not in the best way. the killer simply doesn't have enough time to deal with all survivors with their perks, so BHVR puts healing speeds to a crawl. I know the PTB has changed but that's what it seems they're aiming for.
For me personally I think the generators are fine as it is and for everyone we are gonna have bad matches and good matches. As a killer I have been able to kill all the survivors and still have 3 gens left. Not all killers are gonna be good and not all survivors are gonna be good. Not everything sadly can be balanced like you have nurse who can have a 500 win streak.

Oh it will raise kill rate. That I am sure of. The thing is - if it leaves the taste of "what is this bullshit", then maybe it's not the way to go?
Imagine if survivors had a perk that could construct (even trash) filler loop. Or if they could repair pallets. Would you be ok with that? Because me as a killer would absolutely not be ok with bloodlusting shack for a long time just so that survivor throws that pallet just to see it back in game in next chase.
Haha🤣 I would never thought there would be a post like this one but yeah being able to break a pallet before it drops would be literally getting rid of all chase mechanics. As a killer assuming this wasn’t a perk you could go around the whole entire map with that one oni perk that lets you see windows and pallets and just destroy all of them. If this was a perk the cool down would be massive as not really earn and useful as by then the survivors would have already dropped the pallets.

A stupid complaint on the DBD forums imagine that.

Really good developer update, pretty much all the changes on point!
I would have been so disappointed if you went through with killing Billy ANOTHER time. Thank god you listened to feedback and actually applied such feedback!
As someone who follows a lot of content creators (big ones like otz, competitive ones like Knightlight and casual ones)
I see people are REALLY feeling, you're actually listening and then doing something in the actual practice. Very good job, for real, keep going this way!
You’re not gonna be able to satisfy everyone 😅 There is always going to be a unbalance in power regardless of what side you are on. Yes BHVR has an issue with listening to the community but whenever they do what the community does ask of them they still get backlash for it and don’t ever do it again. For example they have done a graphics update for the survivors and they get backlashed for it and that why older killers and some survivors still have old textures

Hangman's tricks is a perk that has no longer been used since Awakened Awareness exists
The changes I suggest could take more time to get them out of Scourge Hooks or get the hook back after a sacrifice like before.
Any rework would be better than the current use of the perk.
Absolutely! I mean with this perk you can easily add the adjustment of making it were if a survivor sabotages a hook then they will have the exposed status effect or another effect like oblivious or mangled. That or you could see the aura of survivors for 10 seconds after they sabo so if you do get stunned after you drop the survivor you can chase after the person that saboed!

- Adding unique Survivor intro animations during the camera spinning phase at the start of a trial that are either based after the personality of the Survivor you play as or the realm of the map the Survivors plays on.
- More unique Killer intro animations for every previous Killer up to Nemesis during the camera spinning phase at the start of the trial similar to how every Killer from Nemesis to Skull Merchant has one.
- Giving custom lobby music for older Survivors both original and licensed.
- Giving unique Killer lobby selection animation for older killers similar to how Onryo, Dredge, Mastermind, Knight and Skull Merchant has one.
- Giving most of the other killers The Ghost Face treatment by allowing them to change between Walking and Running animation depending on if they're in a chase or not.
- Adding more visual overhauls for older Killers like The Wraith, The Hillbilly, The Shape, The Hag, The Huntress, The Cannibal, The Nightmare and The Pig.
- Adding unique Killer lobby animation for The Cannibal, The Nightmare and The Pig.
- A unique menu music track for The Shape and a unique menu and chase music track for The Cannibal, The Nightmare and The Pig.
- Giving unique chase music track for Legendary Killer cosmetic sets.
- Allow Survivor and Killer portraits to change in the lobby character selection menu when equipping a Legendary or Ultra Rare cosmetic set.
I love this idea but I hate to be the bearer of bad news but with something likes this I couldn’t see it being implemented just because they have be hated by the community for giving a graphic updates to survivors and killers and they don’t want to waste resources on stuff the community is going to hate. Plus with how DBD hasn’t added any new Mori’s to the game I don’t think they would add any addition stuff as you mentioned. Trust me this would be so amazing and new to people ! But the devs are more focused on putting out new chapters as that’s what makes them money

I am all for new items! Have made several suggestions/concepts of my own (though too lazy to get the links right now)
the devs have once stated that survivors items are the ‚equivalent‘ to killers powers, and we have plenty of different powers and.. just a few items that besides the flashlight and maybe sabo toolboxes don’t really bring interesting dynamic to matches
Yes exactly! I haven’t seen anyone ever use maps or broken keys just mainly toolboxes flashlights and Medkits, to only have just 3 items can are useful makes it less diverse and mostly makes survivors constant have the same build

I am not complaining or anything. Maybe this comes from a fact, that we are not talking face to face. I am just saying, that from my own personal perspective, I think the change would take away from game instead of giving it something.
It absolutely does not mean, that I am 100% right and you are 100% wrong or that there couldn't be people that like it. I am just giving my feedback, that I like more variety and this idea in my eyes actually remove some variety instead of giving it some (and again, I might be wrong or I might be alone in this perception - both cases being fine).
No you’re good! And my apologies! I know that with anything that you’re not going to be able to satisfy the community 100% and that is always hard on the devs because they take to hard the negatives. I always appreciate comments like yours and everyone else because y’all have played the game for so long and want to defend it from getting any worse then how it already is!

A backpack perk would be nice, have two items and able to swap them out at will at the cost of a perk slot and possibly some time
Loot builds really need more perks ever since pharmacy was nerfed :(
Exactly and it wouldn’t be a bad idea! Chest have become something of useless themselves and need an update especially with that one perk where you are guaranteed a Medkit !
-
@Gandor said:
Personally I don't like the idea. There are not that many (usable) items in game. Allowing 2 instead of 1 I think in fact limits variability instead of increasing it. If there were more items (I don't even have an idea for those), then maybe after game rebalancing, this could be a good idea. As of now, I don't really like it
That’s okay and not everyone is gonna like stuff like this especially with how the game is now! I’ll probably make another discussion on new items for survivors
-
@Nemeshifu said:
add more injury for survivors (when you kill a survivor by your hands, his body is completely healthy) this is a PEGI 18 game already so it wouldn't be an issue.
add unique point of view height for each killer based on the height of their eyes (when you play as Nemesis you don't see yourself as tall as your giant body, which ruins the Nemesis tank feeling)
Dead by Daylight needs some serious horror!
As sad as it is, the devs don’t want to hurt their rating on the game because if they were to add gore, countries like china that doesn’t allow skulls or other gore to be shown would ban DBD from all players and they have a Big player base there as well. That’s why horror games are much harder to publish and games such as Fortnite have it easy!

Bad idea, just 4 items per team is annoying, 8 is hell.
But that Franklin's value would be nice....
Yes and I can absolutely see this as an issue with all survivors carrying a flashlight along with a medkit to loop killers the whole game, for another survivor to have a toolbox to repair a generator and then have a medkit later for when they get injured off the gen. For this idea just to come out as is would be a bad idea, that’s why there would need to be changes to make it anywhere close to balanced!😁

I do like the idea honestly but the amount of other changes they would have to make to make it viable on all killers would be too much for bhvr to actually consider. All the perks. All the maps. All the killers. Lol picture those patch notes. And the bugs.......
Yes I completely agree with you and many others! Some have mentioned to me with something like this they would have to skip a chapter to make it happen😁 That’s why this is more of an idea then a needed change!
-
@Gandor said:
I think it would break quite a few maps where you just need that time to get to anything else. Especially on killers that need just single hit (think legion or ghostface). I don't like the idea
Absolutely! This change just on it own would completely break the game and in consideration with some killers like weaker and legion to vault pallets it not a necessary change as mention!
-
@Crowman said:
It takes 2.34 seconds to break a pallet currently. 1/3 is 0.78 and 1/2 is 1.17. You can reduce breaking speed to 1.87 seconds with brutal.
You save 1 to 1.5 seconds in order to have the pallet be usable against you again. I don't really see the point. It would still be better to break the pallet so there's no possibility of the pallet being used again. Besides brutal, Spirit Fury instant breaks pallets upon being stunned. Dissolution can force survivors off of pallet tiles. Blood Favour just blocks pallets.
Yes and I completely understand! I had this idea more for the reason that saving that extra second would allow the killer to reach the survivor before they vault a window or another pallet making it less easier to have a chase with the killer for the entire match!
-
@Gandor said:
What about making killer 150% basekit speed, survivors can't heal ever and they need to complete 30 gens? That would be fair right?
We are just getting patch that will absolutely change the balance for killers. And here comes the idea of making 5 perks for killers? Absolutely bonkers idea
Absolutely 😂And I love bonker ideas and just made two more🤣 but jokes aside yes this on its own would need its own balance changes and is more of an idea then a needed change as mention
-

You would have to completely rebalance the entire game from the ground up for this to work. It's already bad enough with current Dead Hard basically being a third health state and that's not even guaranteed to work all the time.
Yes as I completely agree! I have mentioned to another person in the community that DH would be just a dodge perk or an push to activate sprint burst . I will most likely make a big discussion post with all of the giant changes to DBD I have thought of so they aren’t singular and seem more balanced with one another or the complete opposite!😂

This sounds like more a whole new game instead of a change. Maybe dbd 2?
I thought of building my own game before and don’t have any funding or experience to make them so that’s why I mostly throw my ideas into DBD, I would love to be technically a competitor but with how last year ended up it seems difficult with how DBD is in a loved/hate relationship with the community 😂
-
@Veroles said:
the more perks are available the less the game can be balanced at the end.
I think what would need to be done is either making perks more balanced or adding perks that counter one another, or lastly make either side have overpowered perks either only being able to be used once or as hexes. They already do some of them but it doesn’t work out the way they want it to
-

Honestly if everyone played fun or casual builds i'd be like "good idea! leaves room for more creative builds!" but we live in a world where we would just go against 5 stacked gen slowdown perks and well coordinated survivors would pretty much be unstoppable
Yes I could completely see that! Looking at the the survivor said and what I’ve seen the community talk about is that gens going by so quickly and how most of all slow gen perks are getting nerfs all around. With releasing just a fifth perk slot without any changes made it would be messy I agree!
-
🤣🤣 Absolutely! I mean if DBD really wanted to they could add a backpack type of system where you could carry two items obviously such as a Medkit and a toolbox or flashlight what ever combination you would want😁

So much would have to change
Gens: would either have to take longer or have the Survivors/ Killers inputs adjusted
Healing: same as Gens
And a lot of perks would have a change or 2 involved
But what if Deep Wound was first and not mending will leave the Survivor injured but if they mend in time they go back to healthy
So the Killer has to keep up the chase and the Survivor has to get away and mend... I know that would make Hit and Run extinct... but numbers can change
Absolutely! If this was released in the current stage of DBD killers would have no advantage at all. That’s why I had some ideas such as making it more easier for killers to break pallets or even lift them up instead of breaking them which would be twice as quicker then breaking a pallet!

Yes ! Which is why this is more of just an idea then something that is needed in the game. Because if you were to rebalance to whole game it would take a lot of time, but in the end however behavior would handle it, it would possibly feel like a new game! But like I mentioned DBD doesn’t need to many changes but I like to throw some ideas like this, as I have mentioned in some post before about killers being able to easily break pallets and survivors being able to repair them because of such change.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/371700/gives-survivors-a-third-health-state
this will be just another buff for bully swf, after the update with 1 totem, the healing time is 8 seconds shift w chasing without pallets and windows takes 30 seconds for the m1 of the killer, and now imagine that the survivors have 8 seconds of healing and at the same time they have 3 stages of health , 3 survivors can simply run around the map and take hits one after the other while the remaining one repairs the generator
and this is weak example, let's remember that we have absolutely surviving maps where even without pallets you can run for a long time
so no
3 Health condition should mean a significant buff for the killer
Yes with three health states this would be completely terrible! That’s why if something like this was to be added you would need to change a lot such as how fast you can heal, how much time it would take to repair a generator, how killers can damage you. So much would be needed to be changed to make it balanced. That’s why this is more of an idea then an needed change!
-
@Canas said:
You already have a third health state, it's called Dead Hard.
Yes and I thought of the same thing too! Which is why I thought it would be better to add a third health state instead and possibly make dead hard more of a perk to make extra distance from the killer or to just dodge an attack, so you can technically say it’s sprint burst you can activate at anytime!
-
@DaddyMyers_Mori said:
Look at Nemesis, that shows you how third health state looks like.
It's bad for him, it would be even worse for other killers.
Yes and I completely understand! That why I mentioned that killers would have to be changed in some way to fit a three health state system! With Nemesis I would either add more zombies or make it where his whip/tentacle always brings a health state down. Otherwise if you did just add a three health state system without any change the game would be terrible and hard to play😅

Yeah I recommended a change but honestly I’ve played legion even a little bit now and he seems fine as is, you actually have to work as legion to get a down
-
@martinj97 said:
I see all the survivors healing by the hook then unhooking the survivor.
I can also see this being an issue! With how powerful some killers can be it would be unlikely as killers such a bubba would check up to these survivors and running to a pallet. Huntress mains would snipe the healing survivors. Weaker could use his tentacle to grab the survivors. Adding an additional stun to the killer wouldn’t give them enough time to heal. Plus as I mentioned with Flood73, the timer would stop when in a chase with the survivors near a pallet as most likely they will try to be as careful as possible
-
@FilthyLegionRevival said:
The reason why this was boring was because it was during a time where mend was tied to when you were in chase only. Now that we've come to the point for many years that it was tied to stopping when mending or running, I think it's time we bring that part of Legion back. It would give people a reason to stay on a person after hitting them with frenzy if they felt like it, making getting hit first with frenzy potentially less boring and it would also be a fun counterplay thanks to the array of ways we have to stun and blind, being counters to the killer.
Tell me if this is a good idea or a ludicrous one. I'll be sure to take a look as long as you provide reason to why it wouldn't be a good idea.
I definitely wouldn’t mind adding in the older legion with being able to down survivors by decreasing the timer of mending but with a negative effect of each time he vaults a pallets or over a number of times he loses his feral frenzy. This way even if the survivor drops a pallet they have the surviving chance of getting away. This can also make franks mixtape to break pallets once vaulted a more powerful add on
-
@Flood73 said:
This could be heavily abused by looping the killer around a hooked survivor and only rescuing at the last possible second.
I can see this as being an issue! One solution that may fix this could be also putting a radius on pallets while in a chase with an survivor. This would make it so even if the killer is near a pallet by the hook with no chase his timer is still ticking down.
-
@DBD78 said:
Nah no kicking that would be strong but the survivors should perhaps be able to t-bag on hook if killer is standing still..would look funny and a bit painful perhaps.
Haha, and if they t-bag enough they get a free flashbang and flashlight🤣
-
@EvilSerje said:
They will just stand 5 meters away, won't change much.
Yeah that could definitely be something that killers figure out like a huntress with iridescent head. In some of those situations though you can easy counter by standing behind the hook or hooked survivor themselves, pushing the killer to move towards to hook and then allowing for a stun. It is really a 50/50 idea but I see it as better than nothing
