I’m only at like tier 2 or 3. I haven’t had much time to play games lately, and even in my free time in which I can, I haven’t been playing Dead by Daylight much in particular.
-
Springtrap is one of those characters that always seems to get mentioned whenever the time for a new Killer release is approaching, like Candyman or Chuckie. I guess that it’s a pretty popular character!
-
Funworld owns the rights to the Ghostface mask and Crypt TV had a few sponsored skins that dropped a few months ago (Mordeo, Birch Witch, and The Look-See).
-
Myself, of course. What a silly question!
-
I have all Survivor perks except Leon’s unlocked, and a smattering of Killer teachables here and there so I can have a decent build if I ever decide to play more Killer.
-
It’s why I’m glad I run Kindred -- no feeling quite like seeing a Leatherface hook a teammate, stand still, and have his aura fade away. It’s a shame that I can’t communicate this to my allies to prevent them from running into the basement for the save like lambs to slaughter…
-
Jill’s got the more interesting perks in my eyes, so she’ll probably be who I level up first.
-
Plague, Twins, Doctor, Hag, and Trickster were my top 5 on the quiz, and are probably what I would consider my top 5 Killers to play (maybe not necessarily in order, but it’s more accurate than I was expecting).
-
Jane when I dedicated myself to maining her upon her release. I’ve just recently added Yun-Jin to that list, as well.
-
I find it varies depending on the time of day. During the hours I’m generally active and playing, my experience is the total opposite: Survivor queues are instant and Killer queues are what take a few minutes.
-
I’ll maybe listen to something while in queue, a lobby, or loading in. Otherwise, I try to limit distractions, especially since sound is a major element of the game.
-
I’m around tier 15, which I feel is good progress so far all things considered. At this point, I’ve completed all of the Survivor challenges, which are all that I really care about at the moment.
-
I think they’ll probably end up going the Silent Hill route on this, where they took characters and the map from a variety of games rather than just one.
-
The top 3 Killers most common Killers I face these days are Huntress, Leatherface, and Blight. For reference, I’m rank 1 (or at least was before the reset) and typically float around ranks 1-4 if I’m playing regularly.
-
As Survivor, I played Claudette on Haddonfield and died.
As Killer, I played Hag on Lery’s and won.
-
The Oni’s my favorite because he literally straight-up punches through the wall!
-
This probably sounds bad, but none of them. My impatient self could never grind up the iridescent shards at such a substantial volume when I could get immediate gratification by just dropping cash and unlocking characters immediately.
-
I bought the game late December 2018, after the Darkness Among Us chapter. Once I had determined to myself that this would be a game I would invest a decent amount of time in, I scrounged up some extra cash and bought all of the Chapters at once. I think I bought them in sequential order, which would make Halloween the first Chapter than I bought.
-
I’m not a big Resident Evil fan, but the Silent Hill chapter was pretty fantastic. I’d like to think that the next Anniversary chapter will hopefully follow in the footsteps of the previous one!
-
Before the advent of crossplay, I would’ve gone into a match with relatively-complete confidence. After crossplay has been a thing, though, it’s about a 50/50 as to whether or not I get a bad Nurse or a ridiculously good one.
-
I face quite a few Leatherfaces in a given session, but hard facecamping is not something I come across a whole lot in general, especially not first hook (usually during endgame).
-
I prefer Kindred, not only to show my teammates who’s doing what and whether or not I’m getting camped, but also so I have that information when someone is hooked. It’s also good for telling me which direction the Killer is going, so I can see if I need to start making myself scarce, going for the save, finishing a gen, etc.
-
I main Survivor, so most rituals aren’t even for a role I play. I tend to ignore them more often than not as a result.
-
Of course - insta-downs are incredibly powerful in this game. I do like that they were finally adjusted, but I wish they took away the insta-down component of the add-on and replaced it with something else engaging. I will admit that just limiting the Iridescent Head to one hatchet was kind of disappointing compared to other things that they could have done.
-
I would totally pay money for an All Kill background for my PS4.
-
I think perk tiers are just an outdated way of artificially inflating the grind back when there weren’t as many perks. Now that there are well over a hundred perks, the grind should really be adjusted to compensate.

Iron Will, Kindred, Sprint Burst, and Unbreakable
Iron Will is my best answer against The Spirit and confounds a lot of other killers in tracking me, which helps because I will try to hide first when a Killer is nearby.
Kindred is mostly nice because I play strictly solo Survivor and having the information that it provides is crucial. Not just to save my own skin off the hook, but being able to determine if a person is safe enough to unhook or not due to the Killer aura effect. This aura also allows me to see if a Killer is beelining to me or someone else due to Barbecue and Chili, which tells me whether I need to go for the unhook, finish the gen, or start to run/hide.
Sprint Burst is my obligatory exhaustion perk. I’ve rotated out this slot the most over my career between Dead Hard, Balanced Landing, and Sprint Burst, but it’s the one that’s settled the longest. It lets me focus on a gen in a dead zone so I’m not caught out in the open for too long or can give me enough of a head start that I can either use to extend the chase or get the Killer to give up before it starts.
Unbreakable not only allows me to recover faster (which can make a difference), it also allows me to pick myself up from the ground, which has completely changed the outcome of games for me before. It may seem weird to have without DS or other obsession perk (I’ve experimented with Object of Obsession over Kindred to fake out Killers into slugging me but found that my weakness in looping makes me easy prey once I’m chased), but I find that I’m more often slugged than tunneled.
I’ve experimented with other perks before, like Deliverance or Spine Chill but usually end up switching back to my main build above.

I’m actually really hyped for the Trickster. I never play Killer, and that’s mostly because none of them really grab at me in any way. The Trickster, however, is super flamboyant and stands out a lot from the rest of the cast, which is right up my alley in terms of aesthetic. His outfit, animations, and even that little wink he does in the lobby are all just perfect. Even if he turns out super weak (which I’m not so sure about yet - I find that most say that about every Killer in PTB that I’ve seen and they usually turn out fine on release), I’m planning on trying to main him. I’ve even been trying to buy some perks at the last minute so that I can have him be pretty well-equipped relatively quickly once he releases.
-
I was a fan of Evolve and Left 4 Dead back in the day, so when I’d heard there was another 4v1 game with Bill of all people in it, my interest was piqued. I checked out a few streams and thought to myself “I should try that game out.” I bought it around December 2018 after the Legion came out and have been playing regularly ever since!
-
I don’t mind - in fact, I’m actually pretty nosy, so I like to go back and watch the streams from their perspective to see how my play looked. You learn lots of valuable stuff by watching someone else’s view like that!
-
- Freddy - I play almost completely solo Survivor, so when I’m facing a Freddy, I just know it’s gonna be a long, drawn-out, downright painful experience. I don’t think he’s overpowered or needs nerfing or anything, but I will say that playing against Freddy is not really fun.
- Spirit - There’s just nothing I can really do against a good Spirit besides pray I made the right read based on little to no information given to me by her phasing. I run Iron Will all the time nowadays because I struggle with her, and even then a good portion of them run Stridor to completely counteract it.
- Deathslinger - I feel similarly with the Deathslinger that I do with Spirit about feeling helpless against his power, but to a substantially lesser degree. Whereas I don’t enjoy games against Freddy or Spirit much at all, Deathslinger is more of an annoyance than outright dislike. I actually had to think really hard for a third place!
-
I bought the new chapter, but it was more out of habit/completionism’s sake than anything. I like Élodie and The Twins’ characters and design, but I’m just very disappointed in how buggy their perks and powers are. Almost all of the perks have some sort of bug that screws up how they function. The Twins’ power is also super buggy at the moment. I wish they’d have just delayed this patch for another week or two to iron out some of these issues.
-
Élodie’s onesie totally looks like one of those tacky ones people wear around the holidays or in like a Christmas card or something. Probably more at home vibing with a cup of hot chocolate or something than “on the street” per se but I don’t think it’s too far-fetched an outfit for someone to wear.
-
I’ve played around 15 matches or so since yesterday and only faced The Twins three times. They do seem to me to be much rarer this time around than the previous new Killers were shortly after release.
-
I really do love all of the blighted outfits, but the Spirit’s is the best one to me. From her cool weapon, to the glowing orange serum oozing through her wounds and reflecting off the glass on her body, to even the glass horns emerging from her head with her face transforming into a terrifying expression... The others pale a little in comparison to me.
Plus, it’s absolutely horrifying to be jumped by a Spirit equipped with this skin. I love it!
-
Mine is easily whatever sound that the Wraith makes when stunned. But he's not in this poll, so I voted for The Pig because of the adorable squeaky toy noise that she makes.
-
For me, it would be either a Killer losing sight of me or going the other direction, the Killer giving up the chase entirely, or having a generator pop before I go down. I play entirely solo Survivor, so the last one is a pretty big crapshoot depending on what teammates the matchmaker blesses me with that day, but it’s the most satisfying to pull off when you know the objective is still getting done while I’m keeping the Killer occupied.
-
The only thing I feel personally against using against a Killer to help them would be keys. I never bring them and if I find them in a chest, I leave them behind.
-
Jane’s Magazine Ready skin: it’s my favorite outfit to use on my main. All of the pieces are cute on their own, but together I think they really work. I absolutely love the tiny purse she carries with her.
-
I don’t know what it is about this cosmetic, but there’s just something about it that seems disjointed as an outfit. I feel like the elements of it would work better with other pieces than just the outfit itself.
-
I’ve had teammates that didn’t save me until struggle phase (or even death) despite Kindred as well, and while it’s annoying, I don’t suicide on hook unless I’m trying to give someone hatch or I mess up the tempo of the button mashing and die on accident. I’d rather be two hooks down but still up and helping my team rather than dying and not contributing anything at all.
-
But it’s so much fun to just sit there and zap people to hear their screams and the Doctor’s laughter. How can you hear that laugh and not smile yourself?
-
I’ve definitely noticed more of a rank disparity in my matches since the latest patch in particular. A significant number of the matches I’ve played lately as Survivor featured a Killer that was at least 2-3 rank colors below me and the teammates I’ve been matched with (in which most of them are around a similar level barring a few exceptions). I know matchmaking has never been the greatest, but this is the bigger disparity in matchmaking I’ve seen consistently in a long time, if ever.
-
I’ve always considered myself some sort of hybrid. I like to win and will play the game as such, but I may not run what would be considered “optimal” or “meta” or anything. It depends on what I feel like running but, either way, I’m gonna try to win.

I just don't like Yui's face lol
That’s one of the reasons why I prefer to use her cosmetic with the bandana over her face. It looks much better.
-
I play Jane because I love her design in general, and I can say that I’ve been playing a lot of Yui lately almost solely because of her fabulous nails and bangles.
-
I’ve definitely had times where I’ve farmed someone on a hook thinking they would be able to make it or dropped a pallet while a Killer was chasing me not knowing that a teammate was being chased behind me as well.
-
The Doctor getting his own chase music is a very good sign that they will probably give the older Killers their own chase music as well, at, least, as they get to them. It may take a while for all of that to be implemented, though.
-
I’m partial to The Legion’s menu theme the most. I’m a big sucker for loud guitars.
-
When I play Survivor, a satisfying loss would be me being sacrificed, but the rest of my team/someone I sacrificed myself to try and save escaping. For Killer, I feel like the Survivors escaping while I still gave them a difficult time as being satisfying enough for me despite not winning. I don’t really pay attention much to pipping for either of them.
