They should just change a dc hook suicide to count as 3 hooks not 0 or 1
As said above, this rewards campers or people who slug everyone at 5 gens just because they can. The latter isn't necessarily a bad thing unless they're clearly scouring the whole map to down the poor solos that have to endure the asinine nature of the killer. This should have some consequences.
I will say that attempts to escape should maybe factor in to the scoring. But otherwise? Tough #########.

It just seems like something's been tweaked that makes matchmaking more adaptive to your performance. I'm very much not the only one that feels that. Before it felt pretty random, sometimes you just get sweat squads, sometimes just boosted turds. And sometimes it was a volatile mix. There isn't this big variance anymore. It's not 100% consistent, but it's super noticeable for many people.
-
Since when do cowboys 'fit' the horror theme? Deathslinger is also very different. Trickster is the fruit of IRL idol worship pushed to the extreme. He's a more flashy Patrick Bateman that actually managed to stand out from his fellow Vice Presidents and goes a step further and uses his victims' screams for his singles. I suppose Kpop is something people don't associate with horror, but I feel like in a way, the way the people in that industry are basically 'owned' by corporations, we have a very real horror story that simply not often talked about.
I like it. It's different and makes for an interesting take on a narcissistic man gone too far. I also like that the survivor is an absolute scumbag compared to others. This chapter kind of challenges what we see as the norm of the genre to a degree. I can respect that.
-
Something is probably being tested here, since I've had a very similar experience as some say here. I used Myers as a sort of experiment, started off with the most potatoes or potates. Then it became quite sweaty, high skill folks and all. Being that I'm not the biggest Myers player and didn't bother with addons, I did lose to a few of those, and then I started getting more puple-ish ranks. Half-way decent, not really potatoes, but far easier to herd and kill than the veteran red.
My guess is something's been tweaked, maybe to try out a new feature that'll be applied to the MMR system. Not really against it, since the previous matchmaking system didn't really provide a better experience.
-
I don't. Mostly because it's usually a specific type of player that uses her in my region. The very vindictive and unpleasant type that unironically says GEN RUSH. I don't hate her too much otherwise. Still bad design.
-
The community is childish because the only people who can spend over 2.5k hours on it without making money out of it have some sort of issue, 100%. Take this game too seriously and end up acting the way you and some others have described.
It doesn't help that the optimal way to play is to deprive the other side of the fun parts of the game. Killer = Rush all gens in record speeds or incessantly taunt them due to skill gap (matchmaking). Survivor = Tunnel, camp, slug a team of solos/low ranks, preventing potential fun chases or interesting plays. All are valid strategies, and yet I'm convinced these are a root cause to the incessant salt and tantrums in this game, which lead to a very smelly breed of toxicity.
Those that complain about design and something not fitting in the game are talking out of their asses and are truly saying: "I don't like the K-pop industry, it what my annoying relative listens to, but I'll rationalize it in a way to sound smarter."
-
Imagine still using NOED when there are dozens of streamers that teach you how to not suck at the game without too much sweating. Unless it's some gimmicky build, the NOED gamers are almost always the same: They NEED it.
Don't remove the perk though. It's funny when it's cleansed and the killer feels extra silly.
-
Only found map offerings to be tolerable when it's either for some gimmick build (Mirror Myers) or adepting. Otherwise it just seems like a ploy to spite the opposing side, perpetuating more habits that make the game insufferable sometimes.

There is no genuine counter to Spirit during these stand still mindgamesAnd this is where you, and everyone whining about spirit is wrong.
The funny part is that in your post you mention Nurse, Deathslinger and Freddy, while making the EXACT same empty argument a lot of other people do about how these particular killers "don't have any counters".
ScottJundOFC COURSE you'd be from the Scott school of "nurse has no counter".
Scott is one of the most notorious example of "survivor main, but guys I'm totally not" syndrome out there. Hell, the simple fact that you really think he is a killer main is pretty hilarious ngl.
That's not to say their word is gospel,Yes you just use them as such, thus making a nice appeal to authority
but high experience killer players say these things for a reason.Meanwhile a lot of other "killer main" (real one) like tru3 will tell you otherwise.
The fact that you think you consistently have the short stick in chases with killers outside of Spirit (and I guess Nurse and Freddy) says more about your ineptitude in the killer role.Funny that you are calling me out of assuming things, to then do exactly that in the same breath while adding a pretty lame attempt at personal insult on top of that, thus showing how actually insecure you are about your position.
Let me tell you, I dont have any problem farming the useless double peeps at red rank, and I do it with what most would call trash tier killers, so you can kindly shove you "u bad" up your.
Then to get about about who is actually dictating a chase, if you REALLY think survivors aren't the one in the driving seats, then I guess, it must says a lot about your ineptitude in the survivor role then? Funny how that works right?
What is even funnier is even peple like Scoot "I'm not a survivor main" will tell you straight up that yes, the survivor is the one directing the chase, while the killer is the one well... chasing.
And... I'll be honest I lost any interest in continuing reading your prety empty drivel that is just a long roundabout way to repeat "NAH SHE DOESN'T HAVE COUNTER PLAY NAH" while shoving your fingers as deep as you can in your hears. Keep on riding train, I'll be over there in the real world where she's good but is just a killer you have to actually anticipate rather than just react to.
Yeah, the OP is right, it's really not worth continuing.
Have a good one. The community would be a nicer place if you toned down on the abrasive nature of your replies, especially toward people stating rather tame opinions about something.

"I hate it, but it doesn't need to be gutter, noooh, just remove the whole point of her power and make sure she turns into yet another QTE boss that I can easily side step with the usual looping method and it will be fine"
K
Yaknow what's uninteresting? Running loop, getting palette thrown on the face and deal with windows.
How about, for ONCE, you survivors have to deal with the short end of the stick and get into the position of the person reacting rather than the one dictating the chase?
It's funny how the narative ALWAYS slide from "ther's no counter" to "there's not enough counter" to "I just don't like dealing with her".
Except there are many killers that can deal with these things without robbing survivors of their agency. Pyramid head. Blight. Clown. Freddy. Deathslinger. New Bubba. Even Twins via Victor. And of course, Nurse. All have tells, and yet these killers can easily hold the power role in chases, some more than others. They also have tells and counters. Many of these killers can obliterate the average DBD group in public matches when used by someone with decent game sense.
There is no genuine counter to Spirit during these stand still mindgames, which are the main issue people have. Whereas other killers with strong anti-loop have tells, she does not. May as well just stand still and let her down you at that point.
I think OP is quite reasonable with what they say about Spirit and how some people are ridiculous in the outcry for a hard nerf. You, on the other hand, are unreasonable. There's always one like you to make these threads come off way worse than they are.
"How about, for ONCE, you survivors have to deal with the short end of the stick and get into the position of the person reacting rather than the one dictating the chase?"
Ah there it is. Not only is this polarizing with the 'you survivors' when you clearly have no idea where I stand in terms of my favoured form of gameplay, but you make it a us vs them thing, despite the fact that many killer mains find Spirit to be a shitshow. Big examples being ZubatLEL and ScottJund. That's not to say their word is gospel, but high experience killer players say these things for a reason.
The fact that you think you consistently have the short stick in chases with killers outside of Spirit (and I guess Nurse and Freddy) says more about your ineptitude in the killer role. I and many others can 4k consistently in red ranks with killers like Demogorgon that don't even have efficient anti-loop. Am I just God tier? Or are you just exaggerating and making playing killer sound like a tragic case of inevitable victimhood? The only thing that screws killers are maps and map RNG, which also applies to survivors mind you (I'd say killers have a harder time OVERALL, but it's still a general problem).
She has no counter in loops with the specific mindgame people find super irritating. That's why people want at least a small tell like EVERY OTHER STRONG KILLER HAS IN THEIR ARSENAL.
Enjoy your circlejerk with other like-minded people that see survivors as mindless drones that only want to pallet loop all day.
Spirit doesn't need to be gutted. Her power needs some tweaks. Her addons need revisions. I hate facing her, but she's not BROKEN.
-
I'd rather keep the desync issue than play against more than one spirit a day. The 'mind games' involving her are uninteresting at best. Spirit robs too much player agency from a survivor, which is why she's so good at tournaments, because she can put people in situations where they can't ever win and without that much effort.
But she doesn't need to be gutted, that's absolutely stupid. Make her power have a better tell and balance it with someone extra for her to play with. Her addons are over-tuned though, those deserve to be gutted to a degree.
-
Slugging at 4-5 gens when you know there's a survivor nearby or you want to add pressure to a gen at risk? Go ahead!
Slugging at 4-5 gens when you have no idea where anyone else is and just keep doing so with minimal hooking? The type of people that genuinely do this chronically are these people that would employ the most unscrupulous tactics for a petty win with minimal gain. The 'I would use cheat engine if I could get away with it' sort of people. They'll then defend it by saying 'I can play however I want' but then go on a tantrum when survivors retaliate with any possible exploit/annoyance tactic possible on a SWF.
Small but definitely accurate strawman aside, if you're losing hard every game because you're not slugging at the start, it's likely because you lack game sense and aren't as good at chase as you think you are. But I will concede this, there are situations where you will lose gens quickly regardless of whether you slug or you hook. It's how the game is. However, you are at your strongest when 1 or 2 gens are left, so perhaps upping the ante at THAT stage would be better.

I've also noticed some sound issues with the desync. Had a Bubba right next to me while I was looping a pallet at full health but I couldn't hear him rev up the saw. Scared the hell out of me when he just plowed right through me.
Oh yeah that's a big one I've noticed, sounds not matching things like the chainsaw. It's actually quite terrifying, especially in a loop where you can't truly see Bubba.

Gettings hits through pallets/windows/fast vaults is pretty common, and it's because of latency. Do a little google search and you'll know how it works.
I think they mean it's even worse now. After a successful fast vault and being wayyy beyond the window, you still get hit. In a good ping lobby this doesn't happen unless something happens to your connection. It makes pallet timing extremely awkward too.
-
Camping and cheap jumpscares. Absolutely garbage to deal with.
-
You have to be a special brand of bland to only play 20% of the game with thousands of hours in. Jesus Christ.
-
Oni's power is indeed the strongest, but it comes at a steep cost, and even then, regaining it does take time too. Blight can immediately pressure everything and down everyone as fast with Alchemist Ring abuse.
Yeah, Blight is arguably the best 4.6 killer, and potentially the best killer if his full potential is explored. He's still a fresh killer with few dedicated mains. PH and Freddy are close.
-
Because if the Wraith is the go-to for AFK bots, but it is essentially the same with face-to-wall insidious AFK killers, yes.
I've said I hit Lightbringer Gold (or maybe Silver) due to my team splitting up on gens EFFICIENTLY. Which means, at best, I got 3 emblem points. Learn to retain basic information.
I'm going to report this as some sort of trolling, there's no way you can be this incapable of coherent thought without making a spelling mistake at every word.

How come, op said they depipped because killer is noob, but its impossible if you're not toxic, meaning you wont chase the killer so that they chase you or they are blendette main, that chase op is talking about was accidental, luckily they escaped and hide the whole game doing nothing while others were doing gens.
10th time saying you can't even depip if the killer is afk with insidious and lightborn. If you know what you're doing as a survivor, you'll black pip or if you're hiding or trying to make the killer chase you you'll depip, easy as that
It's not possible to depip against noob killer, if you do you're on the same level as that killer and have much to learn about this game, crying on the forums wont help.
Wrong.
To start with the lightborn wraith: This means you cannot get evader or altruism emblems. So let's say you get Iridescent Lightbringer and Survival. This gives you a total of 8 emblem points. You need a minimum of 9 to safety pip in red ranks, which is what we're discussing here. So, no, an AFK Wraith with Lightborn WILL make you depip, as you are INCAPABLE of getting Benevolence or Evader emblems.
Now for the situation I presented. Because my team was actually EFFICIENT, I was not able to get Iridescent Lightbringer. I actually got Gold or Silver. I never got hooked so I'd get Iridescent Survival. There was no altruism to be made since he downed the people at the end and I know better than to trade with a Myers in endgame (He'd probably stop me from saving anyway via grab or T3, it's stupid to try in this situation). Regardless, I've had only one chase with him where I got a stun, but let him smack me later to save a strong pallet. In the end I'm pretty sure I got bronze due to the overall low amount of interactions.
Lightbringer: 3
Chaser: 1
Benevolence: 0
Survival: 4
Total: 8
I could have farmed the hook, but I'd still depip as a result for dying and thus getting a crap Survival. It was a lose-lose all around. The only solution was farming evader via terror radius for 10 years or bait a hit to heal each other, but with a T3 primed Myers? Yeah, no.
-
Very Common clown is likely due to the current rift challenges that have him and his perks involved. Otherwise it's usually Freddy, Huntress and Spirit at the sweaty late hours. Nurse is quite common too for me.
-
I actually fully agree with this. Hell, you can remove the aura reading entirely as I feel like it robs Thrill of the Hunt from its relevancy a tad. The aura ready is also so much stronger than just a notifier, it has helped me find so many immersed idiots and robbed survivors of mind games because a tile had a totem in it.
Very much like the idea of notifying survivors of Undying's presence. It also lets you know it wasn't cleansed and you'll have to find ruin (or anything else) again.

Seriously. Do people still think Deathslinger and Blight are bad? I would possibly even push Deathslinger to A tier with PPHead
Top skill Slinger is so ridiculously strong, and even average slingers can completely shut down normal teams. He's B due to how difficult he can be to use, especially for controller players, but yeah he's easily A for his absurd chase potential.
People who think Blight is bad either suck at him or only faced baby bleets.
Anyway, uhm, I do agree that the new perks can be dumb. I personally think perks like Hoarder, Trail of Torment, Oppression and even Retribution have their place. Note, every killer released has had one of those perks, not counting Blight's Undying which is probably one of the best perks ever released. The killers themselves are great, and the Silent Hill chapter has done a GREAT deal in attracting more new players.

Nah thats what you're saying you should black pip by default. Dont be afraid to say it because you think it might be a bad idea, people on here already say the dumbest ######### ( much of it implemented into the game) so no pressure.
The thing is tho that survivor has a pretty low skill cap while all individual killer each have thier own much higher skill caps. The game is not fair, the game is never going to be fair. The obvious counter argument is that rank doesn't matter but i think that's why this is such a great idea, it should just be like a personal progression tracker
Well no, not by default, since I do die quite often in my solo matches, or even with some friends since we're really not the sweaty types. I simply feel like accomplishing your objective as a survivor, which is finishing gens and escaping, should earn you a black pip at the very least. You did everything, and even if you messed up, you managed to escape. But I also think bad decisions should be punished, such as unsafe unhooks tanking your score no matter what. Ultimately, even if you got downed quickly, you apparently bought enough time for your team to pull through and still escaped, which I feel shouldn't be punished.
Survivor does have a lower skill cap than killer, yes, I agree. But I also think the game's frustrating enough in its default form (solo) that it's silly to punish survivors for not bothering to milk this game which imo isn't a proof of any sort of skill or effort. It's just annoying.
-
@Cryinfrn said:
Yall do realize that theyre not trying to be rude or anything? Right? Its annoying when its a rank 40 killer who doesnt know how to play and you end up depiping.
I appreciate this, I'm certainly not trying to ######### on killers who have issues. But when they do play #########, and that happens to the best of us sometimes, it's silly to punish the opposition for it. The Myers was a rank 2, but it felt like they were not used to playing this killer, so yeah, I agree that MMR would have been helpful here!
-
Myers, so low terror radius and insta-down ready to make as many trades as needed.
-
@JimPickens666 said:
You should black pip for doing nothing? Yeah you know what ######### it i agree why not lol. More BP with less grinding right?
If the killer's resolved to doing nothing themselves, then yes. Why be punished because the opposing side sucks so much they can't offer any decent chase or altruism? Also, escaping wouldn't mean you've done nothing, since you've done the objective or managed to find hatch. Although I'm a bit iffy on a free safety pip upon getting hatch. Perhaps this should be evaluated differently.
@Heartbound said:
Well you have to remember if you're trying to pip and you escape, if you went down even once the max you can get is gold by escaping. You need to focus on the other emblems. You only have a limited time to fill out Objective, and you need to heal/bodyblock/rescue team people for altruism. If you're not sure you've pipped and you really want chaser just bug the killer. Even just hanging out in their terror radius will count towards emblem progress.
(Personally I think there should be emblems in the bottom right corner telling you where you're at on emblem progress, but that's just me.)
It's less about pipping, a reward, and more about black pipping, not getting punished, for a mediocre match with a sub-par killer. I don't think I should be obligated to throw myself in a hook they're camping (with an insta-down, it was a Myers) or waste time hanging around their terror radius doing absolutely nothing.
-
@KaarelK said:
You can black pip easily but you just choose to be toxic to a killer and to your teammates by doing nothing useful. Even if the killer is afk with insidious and lightborn (no blinding points) atleast 1 will pip and other 3 will black pip. You're just bad, l2p
How can you deduce that I was toxic in my post? The team did gens and the killer was incapable of getting a down or protecting gens until it was too late. By then he was resigned to camping and I did not want to trade places with the hooked, which would lead to a depip anyway. It's absolutely ludicrous to be expected to throw the game in the hopes of safety pipping.
You're clearly a troll.

Well, I knew it wouldn't take long to find the killer main who relies on this crutch build lmao.
Already assuming what people are and going for the typically polarizing response. Great way to make people not give a ######### about your opinion or this issue.
I play killer more than survivor. Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer is not an issue in itself. It carries in solo, sure, but a lot of games aren't full solo and it helps killers who are not as confident with their current character. It's helpful to extend the game when you're learning a killer or want to go for more chases than just constantly multitask to the point of actual IRL sweating. I used this combo to start learning nurse, it helped me a lot to extend the game and have more chases and now I've graduated to pop and more chase-oriented perks.
It's not so much a crutch as it is a practical means to help some killers make the game last longer. Of course, the Spirit main that constantly slugs everyone with ruin/undying/tinkerer is dumb to face and definitely overkill, but they're not common. Still no reason to nerf beyond smaller details such as the aura reading.
-
Just make it so that you can kill survivors that are slugged. Bam. Problem solved. Literally takes a maximum of 10 calories to enter the keystrokes necessary to alter the code of this specific ability. It's dumb to require the survivors not being petty, and pettiness is rampant in this game.
-
Well, any killer really, since you'd actually be playing DBD with any other and not bypass 80% of its rules with the moving glitch that is Nurse.
If you want high skill ceiling and great results, choose the Blight. He has about as much potential as Nurse without cheesing the game when his quality of life update happens sometime soon. Game is saturated with huntress TTV wannabes, so you'll also be quite unexpected by many survivor teams.
But every killer can be fun if you put some time into them. Having adepted them all except, funnily enough, Nurse, I've found something to love in every single one.
Except Hag.

If you're punishing a bad hook, why aren't you going for the unhooker?
I'm baffled by the logic.
Chances are the unhooker is already down. Or maybe they've immediately vanished after unhooking, which is annoyingly common at any rank. The unhooked may also consistently get on your face with BT, and as a result, I'll wait it out and slug them to punish the greed. I'm sorry but people are complaining because these situations happen far too often, and why wouldn't you pursue the unhooked when the other teammates aren't anywhere you're sure of? Aimlessly find a gen to pressure or pressure the survivor in front of you. The choice is painfully obvious.
-
What happens in most competitive games, they lost and got frustrated about it. Those in scenario 2 likely would say GG WP if they all escaped. As experience would also tell me that scenario 1 has a good chance of having sore losers if they died. It's fairly standard in most games, even those that aren't asymmetrical like DBD.
-
It's a non-issue if I'm with my SWF. We have a dedicated totem hunter, ez pz, while others keep pressure on gens.
It's a different story in solo. YOU can prep, have a map and a perk for it. But the moment a killer decides to harass you in particular, your team is probably screwed. Because you can't expect randoms to prepare like you, or be coordinated. This perk combo has carried SO MANY boosted killers I could run for quite a while because my team couldn't get gens done quick enough before the killer just ran away because of tinkerer. The combo doesn't need to be nerfed, but something needs to be done about solo queue, as those are the biggest victims, especially if it's against something like Freddy or Spirit.
-
Always so polarized. It feels like nobody cares about other people's experience and use another's similar apathy to be apathetic themselves. We talk about boring killers, but this is an extremely boring and basic mindset.
-Ruin and Undying along with usually Tinkerer are not OP, but many times will carry sub-par killers against solo teams and make competent killers absolutely steamroll the average solo squad. It's not that the combo is broken, it's that it is oppressive without a degree of prep/coordination. You may prepare for it yourself, but if the killer decides to constantly harass you, it won't matter, and your team will fail because you can't expect randoms to think ahead like you do. You're often screwed from the getgo.
-DS/Unbreakable, usually /abused/ by sweaty idiots, it is genuinely frustrating to deal with. Ultimately slugging is the solution, not perfect, but these individual perks are not necessarily OP. I don't think nerfing either is wise, although reworking DS would be healthy and likely solve this issue.
-Map RNG and design are the biggest flaws of this game and will often be what determines the outcomes of a game. This applies to both sides and it is very true.
-Facecamping is dumb and people who do it from the start deserve whatever the survivors have in store for them. Should be penalized more since it is maliciously blocking someone from playing a game they waited for.
-Boring killers are a buzzword for killers that rob survivors of their agency (basically minimal gameplay), such as Spirit, Slinger or even PH to an extent, or have one very simple way to counter them which ends up feeling very repetitive, like Clown or Freddy. It's either 'Guess I'll just die' types of killers, or 'Guess I'll instantly drop every pallet' sort of killer. Both extremely boring. There's also the specialized camping killers like Hag and Twins, but it seems most people agree they are asinine.
-Iri head is ridiculously bad and hopefully gets wiped out from the game with the rework.
-OoO is terrible and the devs' reaction to the stats is setting a scary precedent as to how things are looked into.
There are others but the most important are covered.
I feel like the common complaints are all valid and people really shouldn't try to diminish them. Compromises can be found in each case.
-
It's not an uncommon phenomenon, given this is exactly what happens when some of my lower rank buddies join up to play some games with those that are more experienced. It's all very chill with little desire to stomp newer killers. But it happens frequently, and I'm convinced the groups that do this with an obvious smurf account do it to dominate weaker killers or milk some achievements/challenges with no effort.
-
Lol, Freddy annihilates most solo groups, which is what I look into when I compare killer power. Only really bad Freddy's lose to the typical solo. It's ridiculous. No, he's definitely A tier the way he is. He has very strong map pressure, chase potential and everything has been done to make it stupidly difficult to see him coming.
Sure, don't nerf him, but change something about him. Maybe actually /earn/ survivors falling asleep instead of it being passive.
-
It's survivor sided if survivors have some coordination. It's a laughably easy game if you can coordinate your team to doing generators while someone is dropping pallets early knowing that the team will have ample time to pop at least three gens before they're even hit.
But these are rare. There is no 'sided' when talking about solo. You either get ######### teammates, or you don't. Otherwise, the only killers that have WAY too much going for them in the solo context are Freddy, Nurse and Spirit. Note, a lot of killer players will incessantly whine that these ridiculously powerful killers that rob survivors of their agency in a lot of situations are the only way to play against the aforementioned coordinated teams. As I said, actually efficient squads are rare. Most who main these three are generally bad at DBD without the cheese.
-
Compound 21 Blight, had more than one immersed idiot complain.
-
Ugh, the biggest reason why we have so many boosted killers in red ranks that develop some victim complex to justify slugging/camping everyone at 5 gens. At least moris got a look into, now hopefully MMR will make this more bearable.
This game would benefit from at least some form of rudimentary communication beyond point and wave.
-
When I play killer, I can tell after chasing every survivors, or about two-three minutes in a game, if I'm having a rainbow rank squad. People will say that ranks don't matter, but I've yet to find a group that I couldn't smell the green-yellowness from, by the way they moved to what priorities they had. There ARE exceptions, usually smurfers or people that didn't play for a while, but those are rare.
Rank is an indicator of experience as well as play time, yeah. There are potato red ranks, that's definitely true, but there are way more potato green/yellow and even purple ranks.
-
@azame said:
Anyone else remember when killers didnt really complain. Dont get me wrong. Survivors were super toxic back then and deserved nerfs but for what it's worth I respect the og killer players. They barely complain despite the ######### they went through.
This is off topic but legacy killers are generally better than legacy survivors. They just went through more. But I digress.
New age dbd is pretty bad in all honesty. You get nerfed for 4 years and still get complaints. "Game is survivor sided" or whatever. It makes me laugh to be honest. Ive been maining killer and havent seen the survivor sided stuff yall been trying to say.
Anyways this probably sounds entitled or whatever but it's just my thoughts. The new killer players are some of the biggest complainers I see. But I can say the newer survivor players have to stop claiming killers like bubba are op lol.
Back then survivors had literal infinites, like completely unbeatable setups, and still got caught. People didn't take the game as seriously, but the more it got exposure, the more different types of people played. And, eventually, the need for it to be accessible became a thing. It doesn't help that red ranks tend to be sweaty and put people on edge in both sides.
The game is survivor sided, if survivors actually tap into their potential. Solo queue doesn't allow that a lot of the times, so it does seem more balanced in this aspect, maybe even killer-sided depending on some factors. Against teams? It'll always be survivor-sided if they're not altruism turds or rainbow ranks, otherwise solo would be often impossible to play if everything was balanced off halfway decent teams.
I feel like you'd change your mind when you see the ridiculous setups survivors can use in some maps like Thompson House, and they will milk those until the bitter end, even get downed to preserve the super pallets. That's probably the frustration killers get. Or 3 individual survivors on a generator at the start and all can loop you long enough to be incapable of doing anything about it. That's actually easier than some think, even with a sub-par team, so long as there is coordination.

Nurse. You're just not playing DBD with her. It's still fun, but it doesn't feel like playing killer anymore. If I want to play another game I'll just shut DBD down.

2% of escapes because you'd damn well sure I'll sweat harder to destroy the survivors. Mori, tunnel, camp, Franklin's, etc. Sometimes I don't care, sometimes I do. I do not let little slimeballs that switch their characters last second before the match have a good time when they wanna play it like that. Yeah, I think a lot of killers have this same resolve. Doesn't make key escapes any less dumb and the ultimate second chance for a major collective mistake from survivors.

The counterpoints were mostly along the lines of many companies failing to deliver properly made characters that ended up being the 'gay' character or 'trans' character, and some simply don't have much faith in this one's ability to do so.
As someone else said (if not in this thread then in another one), no matter what other characteristics the characters have, some people will only focus on the LGBT part and ignore everything else. They will pretend that the character is a trope because they're not acting in good faith.
Every character can be improperly made, but only LGBT characters get such scrutiny. I wonder why that is.
I do not see anyone downright raging at the idea of diverse characters being present.
Because some comments have been deleted. Believe me, they were here and in other threads.
Some people just don't want to have diversity politics in their games, especially when DBD is a form of escapism.
I'm very sorry some people see my existence as political.
That's a lie, I'm not sorry. The existence of LGBT people is not political, no matter how many bad faith actors like to claim it is.
All reasonable counterpoints that don't necessarily invalidate the potential existence of these sort of characters, but I think people have a right to have these and these positions don't make them bigots.
Not reasonable, no. There is no counterpoint against the devs adding LGBT characters that doesn't also apply to non-LGBT characters. That's unreasonable, to demand that LGBT characters conform to a higher standard than every other character, as if they were any different.
It may have to do with how many companies blatantly try to pander with LGBT characters over making actually interesting ones. There will still be people complaining, yes, as we've seen with the Last of Us DLC for instance, but overall the themes there were generally well received, because it was character building done right. I'm fairly confident if effort is put into the character, there'll be whining, but there'll be more praise than scrutiny.
Well I didn't see the comments. I can only work with what I see. Those that have disagreements are civil and reasonable from what I can see.
The characters/people themselves aren't political. The motives a company has to make these additions can be political and it has been a trend in the gaming industry to earn itself some woke points. I think some people just don't want to relive this in this game. This isn't my stance on it but I believe it fairly depicts some worries people may have. This isn't about /you/, it won't ever be about ///you///, it's about the intent some may have to add such characters, hence politics.
I've had to work with 'counterpoints' that were mostly just concerns of how this would be approached and not downright 'ahhhh I hate gays or whatever', so obviously I'm working with different things than you. No one reasonable wants them to conform to a higher standard. We just hold BHVR to a higher standard than what's been done in other lazy companies.

I find a 3 man escape with 1 gen left, when that's often the most pivotal moment of a game especially in high ranks, to be far more devastating than a mori.
With a mori, especially red one, the games likely over when it started. No one's truly being robbed. Now, that said, I'm GLAD moris got nerfed and while this may not be the best way, it is something that's GOOD.
But I think Keys are far more disheartening than Moris. Keys are a punishment to a killer that could very well be dominating and have an extremely good setup. A mori, unless the killer is very bad or facing some super squad, will lead to total annihilation from the start. Now you can argue that moris remove fun to a greater extent than keys, and that's true, they are far more awful to the survivors subjugated to them.
Both are terrible in their own ways. Both need to be fixed. They're both super unfun. To say one is worse than the other is silly IMO. I hope keys get their turn soon enough.

Please, enlighten us. What are some reasonable counterpoints to not adding an LGBTQ+ character? Why should we not have that kind of representation in Dead by Daylight?
The vast majority of individuals with differing opinions did not downright say there shouldn't be such characters. They merely expressed doubts in how well it'd fit in the game and if DBD would make actual character and not some trope.
The counterpoints were mostly along the lines of many companies failing to deliver properly made characters that ended up being the 'gay' character or 'trans' character, and some simply don't have much faith in this one's ability to do so. I personally believe any sort of representation in this game isn't necessary, but it is absolutely fine if it exists.

People concerned about the mishandling of a character identifying in the LGBT group, which you grossly exaggerate, are those that also reference past misuse of these characters to push some low-effort agenda or to distract from other issues. I think most people here don't care whether there is a character with a different sexual orientation, but they don't want a character known as 'the gay character' or 'the trans character' as if that's all there is to it. Those suck.
-
When companies try to pander to this sort of idea, it ends up being extremely forced and making most reasonable LGBT people roll their eyes because of how cringe it is. I don't think representation is important on every form of media out there. DBD isn't about identity politics or how people lived their sexuality before being abducted.
I'm perfectly fine with a character being X, Y and Z, but please, for the love of God, don't make it their defining trait(s). People of the LGBT community are much, much more than their sexuality, they're individuals to which a lot of them don't openly announce at every occasion how they like to take it. Except, of course, those that have made their identity around that, because they have absolutely nothing else going for them. These tend to be the ones zealously pushing for these sorts of things. They shouldn't be listened to.
As for which letter deserves more representation? Lol whichever the creative team wants. None of them have a bigger need for attention than the others.

You on console? That's the only way I could see this being something I'd agree with, because Blight and Nurse aren't great on there. If this is PC then I'd seriously recommend practicing both these killers because they are absolutely 2 of the best killers in the game when played right. They're harder than PH, Deathslinger, Spirit, Freddy, Hag etc (The other high tiers) and take some work but imo they're definitely much better. Oni too.
Suppose I or the other 3 people on here who actually play Demo will never be able to change people's minds on here about him being a good killer.
Demo comes off as 'Meh' to those who casually play him. But because of how diverse and useful his kit is, anyone who pushes his potential will have SO MUCH to work with. He's easily A tier, and with a few tweaks to some minor details and his addons, he'd easily contend with Blight with a high-skill killer that can be argued to have a top spot.

It's not OP. It doesn't cause victories. But as many big players have said before, it carries, especially in solo. Admittedly it carries in a game where pressuring generators is a very difficult balancing act, so I'm not exactly against having this sort of tool available. It could use some revisions, such as the removal of the aura reading.
