  • A lone survivor can hardly be 'scummy', though they can act toxic. However a killer can usually easily dispatch and punish a survivor. The far less frequent but virulent alternative is a group of survivors being toxic. They're rarer, because most groups aren't /that/ bad, and yes jerkoff killers are more frequent, because despite incentivizing multiple hooking in both scoring and BP reward, people still choose to just one hook camp, tunnel and slug to get Brutal Killer with a 4K.

It ultimately goes both ways, it's just that lone survivors don't last long when being turds and are hardly noticeable.

  • Run deliverance if you want that achievement so bad. It's even funnier to let you die on hook than you kobe-ing at my face when I bothered to go and get you.

  • racist bubba gaming, jesus christ lol

Looks like they do want to get banned and reactions. They'll probably get banned in many games, including this one, given their goal is clearly to troll with this account.

  • Remove his microsleep and temper the snares a little. Penalize faking out a teleport a bit more. He's fine otherwise.

  • Blight. Powerful. Clear ways to counter him. Great perk combos. Can be fun in any level of play. Can work for any skill level too, from a mere distance closer to ridiculously strong and precise lethal rushes. A killer that can probably contend with Nurse and Spirit if given time and effort to master while being fair for the most part.

  • Just butt dance in front of them until second stage or the killer comes by. If they want the achievement they should just run slippery meat or deliverance. Probably throwing the game but at least you had a good laugh, which is always fun!

  • You're always entitled to critique a company's product if you've invested in it and have no obligation to hold back on your grievances. Don't let agentic people tell you to suck it up and not be entitled. You are, in this case, given you were promised a functional product and it happens to not be working as intended for the most part. Some companies get downright sued over this, though I don't think BHVR's case is extreme enough, plus they are trying to fix it. Nonetheless, releasing such a product in the first place isn't something to overlook, especially since a lot of people that may purchase it aren't nearly as well informed as the people here.

  • When they unhooked, chainsaw sprint back to it and purposely aim for the unhooked. 90% of the time they'll have BT, and you can either combo it on them again or immediately get the unhooker if they're closer. Usually works.

  • Unless they're adepting it just seems like they want an EZ win. Something something gens are done too quickly even though they clearly know how to slug everyone quickly enough to not have anyone saved.

  • Play like you want to spite them or dodge the lobby. At least if you can tell they're a competent SWF. You'll get very little reward for beating them anyway, given you'll often have to one hook or tunnel to be optimal.

  • My teammate doesn't get to play the game and is doomed to die in their first hook when plenty of gens are to be done. This is a loss to me, since the goal is to have fun, everyone included.

BT is bypassed by a lot of killers, or by a killer that's patient. Coordinated saves need to be swf really. So there's no counterplay to hard facecamping beyond killer's error.

I'm unsure how this is fine. This just creates more toxic survivors that can and will make the game far more miserable for the killer later on. Then killers will facecamp in retaliation, etc. Usually they'll do this to actually decent players, converting them into another jackoff.

  • Is it survivor sided? Yes, to a degree. It's survivor sided if they reach a certain level of their potential which SWF enables rather easily. 3 survivors on different gens all around the map while one loops in a very safe spot is nearly impossible to stop even with high speeds. At best, you'll have two gens pop and one nearly done.

But then there's solo. Killers have an advantage here, even if some members are strong. It takes a couple of weak links to end a game, given there's no coordination. Even a group of decents, if they all compete for unhooks and the such, they'll lose.

Maps, for the most part, do help survivors more than killers. Even with changes, many remain survivor sided. Some are killer sided, like shelter woods, and Hawkins depending on the killer. Some say new ormond is killer-sided but I find the center building a bit too strong to call it that.

I think killer will always have issues with survivors hitting reaching their true potential. The game is 4 v 1 and a lot of balance is made around whiny survivors that want to run killers for a while. It's frustrating, but it's not impossible to make due with what you've got. I find no reason to really complain beyond the odd impossible situations.

  • Guess huntresses can't offer the key for an EZ game now.

I think the hitboxes should be looked into, but I won't shed a tear. It doesn't make her un-useable, it just makes some loops not completely worthless against her. But I do agree that there should be some openings, just not free hits the whole way. Make it, you know, skill reliant.

Still glad they won't dare offer the key anymore, god I really hated it when they did that. As much as I hated old ormond offerings when playing killer.

  • Likely would help:

-Blight: Talbot's main goal was to find the secrets of the entity and the breakthroughs made by Vigo. Surely, if given the chance, he'd escape and free those bound in the realm (likely as a sort of penance for the crimes born of his scientific curiosity). I'm surprised no one mentioned him, considering his MAIN GOAL was to get out of this dump.

-Wraith: An empathetic man that's been dealt a horrible hand, and while violence was his go-to, he was always revolted by the misdeeds of bad men. He'd likely help end this ordeal, considering he likely never wanted to be like this.

-Freddy: Unlike the other two, Freddy would not help the survivors out of any desire to help them. Instead, it'd be so HE could be free and return to his own world, or if we're thinking of the recent movie Freddy, have a chance at regaining his life, which is what he wanted but could never achieve so he went out to punish the kids instead. It'd be more a repressed alliance, but a proud ######### like Freddy would want out.

-Susie and Joey: They're not the sickos Julie and Frank are, and have been led by peer pressure from the leaders and coerced by the entity.

-Deathslinger: All his life he's despised people who took advantage of him and attempted to cheat him out of what he's due. The entity is using him, while the survivors are being exploited the same way his family was. Caleb isn't a good man by any means, but he isn't a monster either. Senseless carnage was never his thing.

-Trapper: He was never a twisted psycho and apparently had to be bent by the entity to do these deeds. Likely would seize any chance to get out.

-Spirit: Her anger was directed toward one person, her Father. As a vengeful spirit, she'd be expected to despise all those that enter her accursed grounds, but ultimately, if there is still of Rin in there, the remaining shred of humanity in her would likely seek to move on from her grudge and save those she can.

Maybe: Uncertain as to how these guys would act

-Oni: A proud monster, likely a puppet of the entity at this point, but one I'd hardly believe would accept being 'owned' if he had a shred of his past self within. Thinking more of a 'no', he'd keep these survs nice and suffering, but it's hard to tell.

-Pyramid Head: It would depend as to whether or not he'd deem that the Entity is next to require penance. Or maybe it wouldn't do anything whatsoever. Pyramid Head is an enigma. It'd sooner kill itself should survivor show their true resolve than force itself to be a mere minion.

-Nurse: She's crazy, but was once a good soul. May turn on the entity more so than directly help the survivors, if it came to it. More inclined to say she'd rather mercy kill them, but the fact that they never truly die may change some things in her broken mind.

-Hillbilly: He has every reason to hate the world and the people in it. But he also has every reason to despise the entity that keeps him caged just as his parents did. He wasn't all hatred in his early life, so perhaps he'd direct his anger elsewhere other than the survivors.

-Pig: Crazy #########, but one that was crazy for John Kramer. May want bail, but may not exactly want to help others while doing it. Hard to say, maybe she is full-blown crazy and believes they all deserve to be punished.

    Nope:

-Hag: She was once good, but she's now fully cursed and turned into a horrid monster. That was before she was taken by the entity. I believe she is doomed to forever crave flesh and live as a thrall.

-Myers: Evil Incarnate. Maybe he won't do anything. No one knows.

-Bubba: The entity is his new family. He feels safe. The survivors are evil. Bubba is far too afraid to leave and let an evil survivor escape to potentially destroy his family again.

-Doctor: The guy's a complete psychopath with unlimited patients and no ethics committee. He's happy here.

-Frank and Julie: Edgy teens live out their perpetual honeymoon stabbing people. Their Nightcore playlist never ends and they're just nasty. They'll keep the party going indefinitely.

-Plague: Entity is God. God gave her new life. Sacrifices must be made to it, so they shall not escape. She'd a zealot that owes her life to the entity, guys please.

-Twins: Charlotte owe Victor's new life to the entity. Only Victor matters, the rest of the world is only suffering. Just to keep victor, she'll torment anybody as much as needed.

-Ghostface: Lol, unless he gets bored, he's staying and killing.

-DemoPls: Predator without the intelligence to be truly self-conscious. It's probably content with constant hunts. No reason to change.

-Huntress: She's an animal and she constantly has small and big game to hunt. Her routine doesn't change, only the realm sometimes.

-Clown: Disgusting psychopath that gets infinite fingers. Why'd he ever want to help or leave?

  • Best thing they've ever crapped out. Very good addons, power that requires skill and incentivizes chase while allowing map pressure which is barely possible in higher ranks without some speed.

Mastered like how some master nurse with good addons, and he's easily among the top with Spirit, Nurse and Freddy. I'd argue he's stronger than Spirit with his best build and a very skilled player. And yet he isn't as oppressive as some of these killers despite this.

All he needs is more consistent bumping. Right now it's pretty inconsistent and makes for frustrating gameplay.

Look, I'm gonna be real with you, Attitudes like that are what perpetuate toxicity in this community.

What truly perpetuates toxicity in this game is the fact that a lot of fun to be had is contingent on the other side's decisions. And oddly enough, the most unpleasant strategies tend to be the most efficient ones. Survivors decide to all bring BNP's or harass the killer in unbelievably safe areas. Killers ceaselessly camping one guy or slugging with 5 gens left. Both viable strategies, but extremely unpleasant. Perhaps if these strategies were be made far less viable, then the grievances on each side would cool off.

There'd still be toxicity, don't get me wrong, but there'd be less.

  • Camping/Tunnelling/Early Aggressive slugging are easy strategies used by sub-par killer players, or killers that royally screwed up.

The Majority of killer players in this game aren't nearly as good as they think they are, as such making killers that thrive in these practices would please most people. Pyramid Head made tunnelling even more viable. The Twins made Camping and aggressive slugging (more so than even Oni) even more viable. Surprisingly, Blight is the anti-thesis of these lazy strategies. Must've been a slip-up.

Just learn to grief these killers. Hold the game hostage. Form a team and make their lives miserable. They won't hesitate to send you back to 10 minute queues after 1 minute of gameplay and 5 minutes of slugging/camping. Return the favour. It's likely unfun for them since they get nothing, but amusing to you because you're ganging up on the killer to ruin their spree. It's a valid strategy too, since in the end, you're playing on the killer's patience. Just don't do this to those who try to make the game fun and challenging for all, and even less to struggling killers who are trying but aren't very good. It goes from retaliation to just bullying.

EDIT: This applies to killers getting bullied too, just retaliate with aggressive camping/tunnelling/slugging. If the opposition wants to have an easy game, then take the fun away from it before they get their victory.

EDIT 2: Rescinding my encouragement for toxic behaviour. While I believe being a massive jerk to other massive jerks is fair play, some things could be ban worthy and for good reason. Just don't let yourselves be victims, guys. On both sides.

  • Good, he just has too much going for him. Fine tune one thing and remove another. Stuff like microsleep is absolutely unnecessary. Maybe putting a limit to his snares would be nice too. But I want him to stay powerful. Powerful but not a guaranteed win against solos (if the Freddy isn't some boosted idiot).

  • @YoshisCookies said:

Played 18 games tonight mostly tunneled off hook no face camp but it was way easier than being a tool and chasing 3 diff people hooking them x3 times and dealing with DS vs just getting rid of 1-2 people off the bat

    #stopplayingfair

What others have said, it's too easy to play like this and just prevents specific people from enjoying the game a little bit. Besides, I'm skilled enough to win without excessive tunnelling, though I do slug/kill a person quickly if the situation demands it. Either if gens pop too quickly or the unhooker suddenly vanished and I just won't ignore the injured survivor nearby.

Killers doing this has led me to play in SWF more often though. Needless to say, even by playing 'unfair', my team still stomps most of the time. And depending on how the killer behaves, we even get a little toxic. I mean, we get to play how we want, right?

  • Give him this weird terror radius he has while riding, or have it apply while being silent to proc BT, otherwise he's just camping hell with no real counterplay without some big coordination or him messing up.

  • Disagree that huntress takes no skill. I do believe Huntress mains kid themselves at her actual skill ceiling however. Anyone who played some FPS can git gud with her quickly. Blight, Slinger and Nurse easily trump her.

I do feel like a lot of them are carried by her hitboxes however. And the humming is also meh, should be directional since you can barely tell how close she is by it.

  • The center building is still very strong. There are still viable jungle gyms in various spots. There are some less safe rock loops spread out a bit more. There's one or two absolutely safe tractor loops. There's a couple of useless pallets that are just bad even by Hawkins standards (like, what was the idea here?). The map is still large, loops are overall fairer and the center building can make for ridiculous chases. Stop complaining, this map is exactly what re-designs should be.

If only Shelter Woods, Azarov's Resting Place and Suffocation Pit had this sort of brain power dedicated to them. But it seems we're expecting too much already.

  • Just park Victor at the hook before hooking your catch if survivors decide to 'bully' you. You're dooming the hooked survivor to be down the moment they're unhooked since BT won't proc with Victor. Camp them until DS runs out while Victor jockey's the saviour. You'll likely still lose, but the unsafe unhook and removal from gameplay will crap on their points/emblems. Also, this strat does usually work in stomping teams, given you're pressuring two people: The unhooked immediately downed and the saviour now being loved by Victor.

Scummy but we've been given this mess of a killer to deal with, and survivors are enjoying the baby kicking (I know I do), so use what you can.

  • @Bumbus said:

Survivors: why killers don't show some empathy and don't go easy mode after dc?

Also survivors: woah, this brown rank trapper managed to down someone occasionally! Go-go flashlight save! Go-go bodyblock! No man left behind!

Seriously, I never saw survivors giving me hooks when I struggled, why should I care about their fun more than mine?

I don't think survivors doing this is tryhard or toxic. Unless there's consistent coordination, which would only make this sweaty if anything, it's something that survivors try to do just as much as you try to kill them. There's a lot of points involved in protection hits (bodyblocking) and making saves, as well as challenges involving those things. Besides, killers should be paying attention to their surroundings, and such actions come at the cost of more than one survivor not being on a generator.

Unlike, say, slugging when you're already steamrolling. It doesn't give any points nor is there any sort of challenge requiring you to beat down broken teams. That's not to say slugging is bad practice, it isn't. It's great pressure. But it's usually overkill when there's a DC or a clear skill disparity in the solo team.

Also, easy mode? Just chase normally, lol. Even sweat in your mindgames. I'm just hoping killers don't party wipe instantly because they simply can. It's usually more fun if survivors get some interaction with the killer.

  • @Mr_Lemon said:

Funny you make this argument when survivors are typically the absolute sweatlords who play in swf's and try and bully killers and have the power role in the terms of they have so much more to work with and strong crutch perks that have little to no counter play. But yes some killers can be sweatlords but there are more survivors in the community than killers and survivors are usually toxic as hell.

This thread is about solos or potential normal teams being left in a 3 v 1 from the getgo. Not your usual sweatsquad. But thank you for bringing up a theme that has nothing to do with this thread.

Ah yes, just accept that rng gives you trash team mates constantly while the killers abuse it endlessly as they constantly whine for more buffs bc they cant handle 4 good survs stacked together anymore. I really cant with you killers lol.

Let's stop making this too polarizing.

  • Trapper - Needs a buff somewhere, fully relies on addons.

Wraith - Needs a base kit buff, useless without addons.

Billy - Fine, overheat is absolutely redundant and his addons are dumb but passable.

Nurse - Remove her bugs and don't touch her, she's the game's solution to killers who can't play DBD.

Mikey - Power creep made him such a snail. Buff his kit and make his addons less crazy.

Hag - Remove from game until changed, she's fine if your team is strong, she is oppressive and denied a lot of gameplay to most normal solo teams. Unhealthy to the game IMO, those that fail to oppress are potato Hags.

Doctor - Killer's fine even if he's still kind of trash. He has potential, his addons are fine, but I feel like he'll always be underwhelming no matter what.

Huntress - Fixing the hitboxes will be a severe nerf to her, which she doesn't truly need. Addons need an overhaul, they're outdated.

    Bubba - He's fine.

Fredward - Similar to Hag without the removal of gameplay, he's just too oppressive to the standard games. Tone something down without making him weak, he doesn't need ######### like microsleep to his already massive arsenal. Addons are dumb and could be revised I guess. Also fix how oblivious works with stuff like OoO and BT.

SnootBoop - Buff everything. She needs it. But don't add to the current 'head pop' meta she's been having recently. Focus more on the slowdown aspect than cheap kills.

Clown - Being reworked so I'll reserve judgement.

Spirit - Overpowered, top streamers barely keep up with rather average spirits, let alone those chucked out in tournaments. No meaningful gameplay beyond guesses and hoping the Spirit is boosted. Giving back that bug like some suggested could be a good fix though. Addons are fine.

EdgeGang - Lol just delete this killer and release a new Legion next year with a power that isn't a mishmash of random crap you came up with last minute before the quarter meeting.

Plag - Addons are fine but she could use something more to gain access to her power beyond free pools. Make it less about survivor choice.

SpookyMan - Reduce the cooldown of his power and fix the reveal function. He's fine otherwise.

DemoPls - Honestly, should get small buffs here and there, and addon rework because they are so laughably bad, and he'll probably be top tier, which is good.

Oni - Perfectly fine, maybe buff him so that his power isn't needlessly clunky beyond his curves while running.

Pewpewman - His addons are completely garbage, make them more interesting. Doesn't need a buff or a nerf in base kit.

TriangleMan - He was better before the change. He's fine. Addons are kind of dumb but not the worst.

Bleet - I agree with some have said, he's the posterchild of perfectly balanced in every way beyond dumb bugs and clunky mechanics.

  • -Oni's crappy camera when in a blood fury is a very stupid way to give his power some skill ceiling. I don't think he needs any limits when he's in his super mode.

-Nurse is completely unbalanced and that is fine, because vs'ing her isn't even playing DBD anymore.

-Huntress is not that good of a killer, carried by bad hitboxes and overzealous mains that were rejected from CS:GO. Giving her more strict hitboxes like with deathslinger (although still more generous give how fast he is) would send her to bottom tier, even with better hatchet reloading.

-Hag is dumb and this is a popular opinion but I wanted to say that to those who defend her in this thread. Hah, I win, bums.

-Demogorgon has a lot of potential and could easily be top 5 with some minor tweaks.

-Doctor is trash and only thrives when played by ridiculously good players. He's only used for griefing otherwise.

    -Clown is better than Wraith.

-Wraith is absolute garbage without his best addons. Like, unplayable against decent players kind of bad, which I can't even say for addon-less Clown.

-Survivors should have a stamina bar of some kind to add more dynamics than just hopping from tile to tile, to which most are super safe anyway.

-Ruin-Undying isn't nearly as strong as people think, but it 100% carries so many solo games it likely needs some revision.

    -Hawkins is fun.

-Sweating to eliminate a survivor from the game when not even a gen was finished earns the right for other survivors to grief you in any imaginable way possible, from immersed gameplay to keep the game hostage to taking your frames with flashlight macros.

-T-bagging is funny and shouldn't trigger anyone. But it's definitely fine if it gets your attention to a particular survivor more often.

-The DC penalty doesn't fix anything and mostly punishes people who are in unbearable situations.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/209347/killers-that-sweat-vs-obvious-solo-queue-teams

It depends on the circumstances for me in that situation. I will attempt to tone my game down some since aince a survivor quit. Example, I once had a match as thedoctor using a map offering for the Game. After the first static blast, 3 of them d/c. At the same time I find the only survivor who stayed. I smacked them once and walked off.

On the other hand, I had a match where some d/c'd and I was left with a 3 person SWF team. (I know because they told me.) Thwy were demigods at the game and I was only able to kill one. Mostly because I was noce considering the d/c. Classic case of taking kindness for weakness.

Like I said it really depends. Everyone has their own playstyle. As survivor, I dont sweat outside of tunneling/camping from the start.

I agree, you should always take the temperature of the room when making a decision. Context and circumstances matter too, and you make a good point.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

    - Legion should be removed from the game or completely reworked. Such a trash excuse for a killer.

    - Blight is the best killer in the game. He's not quite the strongest, but he is absolutely the best designed killer BHVR have made and should use him as the standard for all their killer designs.

    - Deathslinger is the 4th best killer in the game and much better than Huntress

    - Killer is not any more stressful than survivor, which is also not stressful in the slightest.

    - Haddonfield and Ormond are not the most survivor sided maps in the game, Fractured Cowshed is.

And finally, genrushing does not exist.

I think most of these are widely accepted. Except maybe for killer stress but that's a case by case thing, some people just don't handle pressure well.

Unsure about cowshed, has a pretty neat deadzone.

  • From a PC perspective.

Incredibly fun and powerful killer. Very few are as thrilling as this guy. However, his bumping needs some revision. Too many times I'll end up sliding through random crap I was hoping to bump against, while sometimes I bump against absolutely nothing. This is just more clunky hitboxes that are essentially a staple to this game at this point.

His FOV is ridiculously bad, and has lost me quite a few chases since, with sounds barely functional, the small clutter in maps somehow make it impossible for Blight to see anything over it. Luckily this is officially being addressed, so I have high hopes and believe he will be monstrously strong with this change (that is if it doesn't somehow mess with hitboxes even more).

He's pretty underrated, I think he easily has potential to be in the top 5, obviously under Nurse, Spirit and Freddy.

EDIT: He is pretty map dependent, but I feel like this has become far less of an issues once I mastered the when and where to use his power. Hawkins became rather easy when I understood where his power truly flourished in it.

  • Alright for clarifications sake, I have a double post basically saying the same thing, it's because I've had an edit bug that ate my post and it would not appear upon refreshing, so I just made a new reply. Looks pretty weird now tho. Sorry about that.

Lots of replies and I'm seeing many opinions and many of the usual partisan stuff indicative of the divide in this community.

I think it is valid to an extent that one wants to finish the game early. That said, if your way of ending it early is just slugging everyone and depriving survivors, who haven't given up, of points, then I think your ego may need to be slightly toned down. I play killer about 60% of my dbd time, and while yes I waste a little more time chasing over strategically catching slugging and intercepting saves in these situations, I at least get points and are able to practice some chases/mindgames with little stress toward the gen speeds, given that it's really not hard to win a 3 v 1. If the 3 are somehow stomping you anyway, then that's a different story (and you're probably boosted). It's not like killer queues aren't instant most of the day anyway, especially with crossplay.

As a reminder, I play more /killer/ than /survivor/, which is why I'm bringing this up, because I have never found it difficult or that time consuming to just chill out in my game tactics if I'm at an overwhelming advantage (Note, game tactics, not chase. I will down you, but I won't sweat in my overall map pressure for instance). And I suppose I have some empathy for those screwed over by DC's or farming teammates (SoloQ experience). I don't usually farm either, though I make the personal choice of giving hatch, I just enjoy the game and try not to make the survivor experience suck more than it does. If survivors want out and give up, I'll gladly kill them. Ultimately my goal being to allow these folks to black pip, because they've had absolutely no input on their catastrophic situation, and I'll probably pip despite likely not even earning it.

Good solutions have been proposed here, from giving soloQ a better base kit to rewarding DC bonuses more appropriately. In the end, this thread wasn't meant to be polarizing, but a means to emphasize that killers have the power to make the clear flaws of this game far less frustrating, just as survivors do by laying off the toxicity and the ridiculous map offerings (Killer can do this too, but the group vs individual stuff tends to makes survs far more venomous).

Also, a couple brought this up, but there are survivors that cut you some slack. They can't do it as easily because it's not simple for them to see a killer being disadvantaged most of the time because you're in a squad of four and mostly holding M1 most of the time. But some do notice it, and will usually offer themselves as sacrifices or sandbag the toxic idiots in the team. Not saying this is a norm or anything, but there are decent people on both sides.

You think you should be rewarded as survivor for your teammates DCing? By the game and by the killer?

A better compensation for both sides would be the best, it's not good to expect one said to have sympathy. A more generous quitters bonus would probably remove a lot of salt.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

Yeah, this is the usual case. But Killers claim that they will be able to play "more chill" when they know they play against Solos.

No Killer (and I mean: really no Killer) will equip Meme-Perks when going against 4 Solos.

Eh, perks are fine, you can have ruin/undying/tinkerer and still be 'chill'. It's more so the playstyle. I do get tilted when stuck in a 3 v 1 and the killer thinks it's a fun idea to ensure the Meghead goes into second stage before committing to a new chase.

Exactly. Instead of running off and creating a Thread about obnoxious DCer Survivors who ruin the game by leaving everyone else holding the bag, we once again see it somehow being the Killer's fault.

DC's are already punished, no point making a thread on that. And yes, they are obnoxious, but that will never really change.

No, but a silver lining for being screwed over would make this video game, something that should try to be fun even if frustrating, a bit more pleasant. Quitter bonus could be a little more generous to both sides.

Yeah, this is the usual case. But Killers claim that they will be able to play "more chill" when they know they play against Solos.

No Killer (and I mean: really no Killer) will equip Meme-Perks when going against 4 Solos.

Killers can play with any perks, I never really factor that in. It's more so just the playstyle. Making sure someone goes to second stage before committing to a chase in a 3 v 1 for instance is just ridiculous.

Exactly. Instead of running off and creating a Thread about obnoxious DCer Survivors who ruin the game by leaving everyone else holding the bag, we once again see it somehow being the Killer's fault.

DC's are already punished accordingly, but they don't change the ######### experience that is 3 v 1 with 5 Generators up. I mentioned a potential silver lining above, to mitigate the damage for both sides as I do not thing the current quitter bonus really doesn't give much of anything.

This a big issue with the game is that people would rather blame the solo player(Usually the killer) rather then admit their team acted poorly.

I also notice this happens as well with 3 man SWF who will often flame and blame a solo survivor for their team's own mistakes.

3 man SWFs also tend to flame the solo player even harder them if the killer spares the solo at the end of the game(Which isn't uncommon if the 3 man was toxic but the solo wasn't).

Its both Mob Mentality and Cognitive Dissonance at its finest.

This is actually very true and happens on both sides. Typical schoolyard mindset of group vs individual. I hope my post doesn't come off as me blaming the solo party (killer). The context I've provided in this thread is one where everyone is essentially solo with probably half of them unable to even communicate post-game.

I'm a survivor main but I've never understood this mindset. Killing everyone is being sweaty?

It's the killers job to kill everyone. The only time I have an issue with that is when they facecamp hooks. Everything else is fine.

If we have a leaver and they trash us all in a couple mins, whatever. Onto the next match.

I survive so often that idc when i dont cuz they went at us hard.

Let me just quote myself, it's one of the first phrases in my post: 'You don't have to let anyone go'. The killer can kill everyone, that I don't care. What I do care about is how keen some are to just stomp and send everyone back to queues when there was no chance to begin with. Kill us, sure, but let's at least /play/ the game a bit. I can understand wanting to leave the match, but you don't have to slug everyone and just crush them from the getgo.

So because one of your teammates DC's early, you focus your complaints on the killer?

Your issue is your teammates that DC, not the killer in this situation

Fun in this game is often contingent on the opposing side, so a little bit of sympathy for that side that's essentially doomed to fail would be pleasant. DC's are already punished, but survivors don't really get anything beyond a few crappy points for it, while likely losing any chance to win or even pip (bigger chance to depip too, given there's more pressure from the killer and less altruism to be gained). I do think killers incapable of sympathizing to an extent are worthy of being called out, but ultimately, it's whatever. Recent survivor queues have made this particularly unpleasant I suppose.

  • @FrustratedKillerMain said:

I usually just want to move on to the next game if one or two people DC right away. My killer queue times are instant, I don't want to farm around for a while

No one said anything about farming. Just chase everyone individually since, unless you're incredibly boosted, you've got this in the bag by how things are going. Evidently you shouldn't throw the game, but at least you get to enjoy the more thrilling part of the game: Chases.

I can't recommend farming to killers in this situation as that tends to be super boring.

  • It's not OP, but it carries a lot of solo queue games. Tends to fall flat vs the usual types that killers complain about. I don't think it should be nerfed to the ground but maybe some changes would be nice, or maybe rethink some aspects of totems, such as a count of how many are left.

  • I agree, he's worse now than he was before. The option select isn't as readily accessible, sure, but this has opened a whole new can of worms. You can now brainlessly spam his M2 in loops and thanks to the cooldown, if the survivor tries to bail, they'll get M1'd. The M2 is quick enough that if the survivor is immediately in the middle of the markings, they'll get hit no matter what unless they have dead hard. You can 'predict' by where Pyramid is aiming, but it's not difficult to just flick and fake out despite the stiff steering in his M2 mode.

I much preferred the older version. Yes, he had a very overwhelming option select, but it came at a cost of usually losing your target if you missed. It also forced survivors to route their runs differently, pre-maturely prep their setup rather than milk it like with other killers.

    Now Pyramid's just dumb.

Listen. Mad respect for those who take it all in stride.

I have been playing this game since 2017, got to Rank 1 in Survivor, and 8 in Killer. 1,200 + hours. I'm not the greatest in the world, by any means, but I do know what I'm talking about. I have had EXCELLENT matches and I've had BULLSHIT matches. It happens kiddos. That's life. Literally everywhere.

    You complain too much.

This game is nerve and instinct.

Certainly, there are tried and true techniques out there that people use, but guess what? This game is about you. Every Killer/Survivor main worked to get where they are, but some scattered few, get ahead of the game because of their natural inclinations to nerve and instinct.

If you don't have it? You need to bust your ass until you get there. Don't want to? Think the game singles you out specifically? Then go away. You're annoying. We don't need you.

Do I get mad at passive aggressive players? Hitting me over and over and over on the hook? Of course I do. I know these keyboard warriors wouldn't do it in person because I'd hook my fingers in their eye socket, so there's that. With that said, it's a game. It's part of the culture. Piece of ######### people are everywhere, kids.

I have won against incredible killers (Every single one), and I've had my ass handed to me. Oh well.

EVERY killer has counters. It's YOUR job to figure it out. Read. Watch. Listen. Learn. Pay ######### attention. I play with people who gripe about this perk and that perk..so what? Get over it. Use your head. We who play this know, once we see the killer, we know what we have to do to succeed.

Will we always make it? No. Do some make it often? Yes. They're using their heads.

Instinct kids. That's an acquired skill.

You want it given to you? Go play something else, we don't do that here.

Not going to hold your hand. You lose because you suck at this, and don't see your checks and counters.

Your whining gets you nowhere. So quit your bitching and go be amazing.

    Or ######### off.

You are quite dramatic and writing a lot to essentially say "don't cry baby surv/killer and git gud".

People 'whined' about infinites, and those got fixed. People 'whined' about nurse being absolutely ridiculous. She got nerfed, and while still ridiculous, at least something was done. People 'whined' about DS, while many, many people said extremely similar platitudes that you are displaying now, and DS eventually got changed (whether for the better or not is up to opinion).

Maybe people do complain a lot. But it doesn't mean every complaint is invalid. In this case, there are gripes with certain killers that affect all levels of play and that's likely why you're hearing a lot of 'whining'. Some complaints here are indeed just massive crying, but some others are things the devs should certainly look into.

  • There is a reason why Nurse and Spirit were the all-star killers in the recent DBD tournament against the sweatiest teams ever conceived in this game. They both have the ability to completely rob survivors of any means they have to defend themselves.

Now, people aren't complaining about Nurse here because little to no nurse in queues are actually good enough to make anything lower than optimal SWF's completely hopeless. Nurse is unstoppable with no counterplay at peak performance. But ultimately, it's so rare and 'fair' to the extent that her power can still be read that no one's really going to complain. That and she's pretty much a glitch anyway, you're not even playing DBD anymore vs a nurse, which is fine.

Spirit, on the other hand, barely telegraphs her power and doesn't have nearly as high of a skill cap as nurse. So, any pleb with a headset can wreck teams that aren't that strong (usual solo queue) with minimal effort. This is why people hate her so much, because of just how accessible she is. Freddy is also oppressive, but he doesn't rob you of your chase gameplay even if his kit is asinine. You can still see what Freddy does and do interesting plays to work around his snares. With Spirit? Sure, you can do that on the boosted turds that think she's the only viable killer at high ranks, but any Spirit that has many hours in will NOT be duped by these half-baked suggestions proposed in this forum. She has no counterplay, that's why she's tournament viable, because super SWF's are just that ridiculously strong.

But the game should not be based around people who take a party game way too seriously. Spirit is a problem, and I hope the bug she had comes back.

  • Tunnelling is what mediocre/unconfident killers resort to if they find the game too hard, which is funny, given how simple this silly game is.

More experienced killers will tunnel if they are in a VERY tight spot versus a very strong team.

But don't kid yourselves, o' righteous killers outing it as a 'valid strategy' no matter the context, you are either quite subpar for the rank you are in or messed up royally to have to believe you /need/ to tunnel. Rare are the super squads that make it an imperative, most of the time you're just crapping on the experience of solos who individually outplay you.

  • It's strange how so many people are willing to accept Spirit's lack of counterplay and interactive gameplay in favour of 'well survivors are also imbalanced and blah'. There's already a killer that can stomp 99% of teams that has clear counterplay and definitely has power in games, and that's Freddy. Freddy is insanely strong. Freddy has even more map pressure than Spirit. He only lacks the unpredictable factor. Yet nobody is saying Freddy is /broken/. He is horribly oppressive against generic solo teams, sure, but it doesn't mean he can't be reliably countered with skill and knowledge.

Spirit is just absolute crap and Stridor counters the perk that gives survivors a chance (relying on a specific perk to have a chance against a killer isn't a counter, it's a big flaw in design). And yes, survivors have a few things that are with little to no counterplay, and these things have been complained about countlessly. This isn't the place for another DS-UB rant. This is about Spirit and the abysmal gameplay that goes with her, especially in high ranks.

  • @HollowsGrief said:

She has counterplay, I best her all the time. Gitgud I guess?

Going to say you're either facing very weak spirits (low ranks) or you're lying. Even ridiculously good players like Zubat get 'outplayed' half the time because they have genuinely no idea where she is or what she's doing.

  • What's the point of an update if Shelter woods is still the same awful map? The look is fine, but barely anything seems reworked beyond the absolutely useless breakable walls added.

    Yamaoka is still crap.

  • Playing as her can still be fun, most janky hitboxes will favour you, but there will come times where it will screw you up hard. You can still hit survivors that hide behind things like trees if you're quick enough.

I find that playing against her is somewhat of a chore however. Either because the hitboxes really end up being frustrating when I've clearly outplayed her, or it's just that she appeals to the more tryhardy FPS competitive types that sweat as much as they can even if you're in a 3 v 1. Overall, she's fine, just not the most pleasant killer these days, in my opinion.

  • People play this game to have fun.

It's not fun to stay hooked all game. It's fine once or twice, but there are times where it is constant. This game relies too much on the opposing side for it to be fun, and usually involves said side to be sub-optimal.

No Bloodlust weekend has made very mediocre killers aggressively use these tactics as of recently.

  • Disturbed ward windows are just awful now, especially if RNG isn't on your side.

Haddonfield is just made even worse, not infinite but bloodlust made it bearable to an extent.

Midwich remains a terrible walking simulator but I guess even with bloodlust it's about the same.

Farm maps are just jokes now, you have to eat and hit every safe pallet around if you don't have some good power. That alone is fine until you realize every loop there is safe and usually interconnected.

  • Group mentality vs Single individual. They will feel emboldened and revert to a generic highschool mindset. You're the killer but survivors are certainly not harmless with how the game is balanced (at least when the team is decent).

It's also because a lot of survivors at higher rank invest so much time in the abysmal experience that is survivor gameplay that the only way to spice it up is through these crappy behaviours. There are people with thousands of hours only in this pretty bare bones mode when compared to killer without ever getting paid for it, so you can understand how quickly it grows stale and they need new ways to find thrills. Dominating and stomping someone is a solution to that problem for them.

As said, toxicity is in every PVP match, but here it does feel like a unique breed given how this game is far less competitive than most 'toxic' game communities.

  • Unsure what to think of this, but in some maps such as the farm ones where multiple loops with little to no mindgames are connected to each other (Long wall Jungle Gym, Shack, Cow Tree, one or two safe hay loops you can see the killer through) bloodlust certainly helps some killers. You can drop chase, sure, but good survivors will easily find their way there. Many purposely take a hit to get to that absurd safety. Bloodlust isn't a solution to it but allows one to punish greed in these scenarios.
