I really dont think they know what theyre doing. They dont have anyone who has a clear direction. I have seen interviews with the head of gameplay people and they say thing that just make you think " ######### are you talking about ? "
They just change something, put it to PTB and see what happens and we need to suffer through it. There is just too much of a lack of logic to their "decisions"
For example adding 10s to gens, but making genrush builds the most powerful theyve ever been. Its like they just pull a number from nowhere, put it to PTB, see what happens and change it after.
-
They look at a spreadsheet

I like it but it really stresses me out that it's 1 shard because everything else you gain or use shards for is completely even
Explain my shards then

The healing nerfs ENCOURAGE Survivors to not bother and stick to gens.
Most players aren't comfortable doing that. Casual Survivor players are going to be absolutely massacred by the vast majority of Killers while top-level teams are going to slam gens even more efficiently.
If these changes go through, I'd expect a fair amount of Killer nerfs in the following patches due to a sky-high Kill Rate.
Exactly, solo q people will NOT play against a legion without healing for example.
-
Usually 2 weeks yeah. I want this pb spending update right now haha

Most people aren't used to 6-second heals, those sorts of medkits are really rare, and the absurd combo with botany knowledge was nerfed pretty heavily by requiring charge addons + built to last to be notable. Still busted, but rare.
Most people were doing like, 15 second self heals with skillchecks, or infinite CoH 30 second heals.
People are also scared of Sloppy Butcher becoming super common again too, since it's multiplicative the healing nerf will be extra painful with it.
I see people heal each other in 6 seconds all the time, sometimes less.
-
People have just got too used to 7 second heals
-
imo they could have made DH just be as it is now, with tokens. Max of X usages per match.

Almost like it's a constantly evolving game
That doesnt make it good.
This is why there is a huge power creep and older killers get so left behind, because the game is so perk reliant now.
-
Solo queue is miserable already, this will be worse.
When I play killer I go against seal team 6. Solo I literally am put with people who have 40 hrs on their steam profile, no perks.
-
I literally have vsed her 2 times on launch and not 1 since
-
This game is in a terrible state, but I have no others games I am interested in playing. Cant wait for D4. I miss when WOW was good.

You likely reached the high MMR where survivors are very effective at everything, be it chase or generator repair. Boons are used over and over, survivors bring medkits and toolboxes, everyone runs DH and does execute it almost perfectly and chases last more than a minute because survivors are good at hugging textures and mindgames.
There are few options here - optimize build for early game or go for late game. Dead lock is pretty much a must as it's the only reliable slowdown left for you ( hexes usually get destroyed very quickly, other perks are not helping because they require downing or hooking ) as well as map and addons that you get.
You probably will get trapped in the 50% win-rate vortex for a while where you will get strong survivors and have few matches with 0 - 1ks and then significantly weaker survivors who won't last 20 seconds in chase with 2+ ks. The only solution here is take a break and let your MMR decay a bit.
I think you're right. I go on streaks of 4ks, then nothing changes and I struggle to get a 1k.
Its super rare for me not to see 3+ dhs, full items.
The economy is screwed up too. Brown medkits are way more valuable than what killers get, and far more common.
-
I will play a clown match and upload it.

From the sounds of it, you might want to retool your builds to focus on early pressure? Something like Corrupt Intervention or my personal favourite, Lethal Pursuer, to get you on survivors at the start of the match quickly and prevent the furthest generators from being instantly powered through while you're in the locating-and-chasing period of the game.
It's hard to say without more specifics, but my general advice is normally to make sure your builds have a purpose instead of being four separate perks doing things without synergy, and make sure you're playing to your killer's strengths with your perk choice and such.
Thats the thing I know its hard to say without watching me play.
I just have gone from 3-4k to lately I struggle with a 1k.
@Zeidoktor said:
One bit of early game knowledge you can utilize, with or without lethal, is that survivors don't spawn into a match within a 3 tile radius of you. Combine that with some map knowledge and you can find folks fairly quick at the start.
A killer build video I like has as its recommendation Deadlock, Nowhere to Hide, Call of Brine and Eruption
While the vid was made pre-Eruption nerf, the idea behind its use remains valid: it does for Bubba's chainsaw what Jolt does for M1s: turns any down into regression. With CoB and NtH in the mix, you should get your money's worth from any gen kicking you do.
Thanks, I might start to change my builds and do what you both said.
I feel I might actually need a break from the game I cant keep up anymore sadly.
-
This game needs to be ( and this would be a massive job but help in the long run ) remade from the ground up.
They dont touch something, and it breaks. This isnt a real example but its more to show what its like - huntress gets adjusted, somehow twins breaks. Survivor perk rework breaks a map. Stupid things that shouldnt happen.
Literally in the news headlines it says " Bug patch notes " and without scrolling you can see " Merciless storm killswitched "
Id love a complete remake on unreal engine 5. Even more a DBD 2 where everything carries over and is xbox series / ps5 / pc only, but that would require all the licencing to be re negotated.
-
As a killer you're there to be teabagged, and flashlighted.
And anything else they want to do.
-
And it doesnt even work.
On my free epic dbd account, I have literally gone against full swf squads in my first 5 matches, while still getting the noob loading screens. 1 perk, against full build swfs.

No they can change him without permission or anything.
How do you know that? Didnt they nearly lose the licence when they wanted to rework the map?
-
This is the problem with licenced killers.
Dont they need to get the ok to change him? And then the licence holder might get annoyed, so its almost better to not rock the boat around.
Freddy has been all over the place. I remember a time when most placed him at F tier, then A tier, now hes arguably one of the worst in the game again.
Imagine the cool stuff you could do if the game was SSD consoles and pc only, with the dream world.
-
I dont even know what you do right now. This games in a really bad state.
Im dying for diablo 4 to come out.
-
They need to work on a token system, and have a cooldown. SO you can only use one maybe 2 times per match.
Hex totems are completely useless compared to boons
-
And not a temp. event.
A whole new, 24/7 mode
I wonder if new game modes require licence agreements. Like 2v8 would have freddy and leatherface in the same match, wonder if thats allowed.
-
I havent seen 1 yt video on her from the guys I watch. usually they all have videos out.
Otz, dowsey, zubat, scott ( except one talking about her ) even JRM.
I hope the anniversary is a big one.

Are you serious?
This
Shes garbage

Usually their art team atleast brings it but even they did a bad job.
Bad design, music, power, perks, even her walk is cringy, everything.
-
Boring power
Bad visual design
Bad music
-
It will never be good.
-
Agreed, the state this games in has made me realise that
-
My suggestion would be it should reset weekly not daily
-
I got home from work early and noticed the same. I didnt get 1 kill in 3 games.
-
Even fogwhisperers arent holding back anymore, the game is in a terrible place right now.

This is such a neat concept for a game.
I wonder if the state of the community scares off more competent groups from offer a competing a product, or if the monitization model is too complex or contentious.
I think it all snowballed after myers.
Imagine this game with the sony exclusive polish, with bungie working on it ( sony own them )
-
The entire character sucks, he used to be good.

See you next week! We always come back
We come back because there is no competitor.
I wish sony or microsoft would make a similar game with the licences.
-
Because it would show what we know already
- High mmr is miserable
- only a few killers are viable at high mmr
- swf is miserable to vs
- game is becoming stale - same thing over and over. Their genuis plan is to do massive reworks, but all that does is replace the same old thing for new same old things. People ( especially in MMR ) will always use the best perks / loadouts
- Map offerings need to be removed
-
if i wanted to have fun I wouldnt be playing this game
-
playing killer in the current meta
-
nea, i hate her
-
Boons were such a bad idea, especially coh.
Healing should have a cap

Knight was poorly received overall. Somehow they made a chapter that made Knight look good. The trend is not promising.
This game is in such a poor state right now its literally curing my gaming addiction.
Id rather work, work on my car, fix stuff around the house, take my dog for a walk. I know gaming is a waste of time but it usually doesnt feel that way.
I actually feel like I am wasting my time. The game itself is toxic and stale. The devs dont care what I (we) have to say at all.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Things usually quiet down as we get further from the last chapter release. They usually pick up again once the PTB comes out, then again when the new chapter is released. However, it seems that people are so uninterested in this new chapter that they're not bothering to come to the forums to discuss it.
That's actually a really bad sign. Apathy is worse than loud complaints. Complaints would show the playerbase gives a damn and thinks the chapter is salvageable.
IMO the only thing that can turn this chapter around is they delay it for a bit, DBD does whatever disney wants to get a deal. We boot up the game the day of SM release, and in the opening cutscene the predator does the mori on her.
SM is dead, the killer is predator.
-
People might be playing less so theres less to talk about.
I dont have any other games I like really, and killer is in such a bad state right now I literally just stay at work longer earning more money. If I am addicted to a game usually I want to come home and play it. DBD is so stale right now id rather just to more overtime.
-
I want the female cenobite from HR1
-
sprintburst - BR - sprintburst - healed in 20 seconds.
Whats so hard to understand about that being powerful?

Objectively untrue. DS was nerfed to the ground and base gen time has been increased. It's now the easiest it has ever been to tunnel someone.
Except you ignore all the genrush perks now in the game, and basekit BT, OTR

It won't and I explained why. It will solve it for you, because you tunnel when you feel you're gonna lose.
Some gamers, tunnel just from the start no matter what, and they will tunnel even if the gens will be 200 seconds each, just cause they feel like it. then nerfed survivors maps will make tunneling even a more guaranteed win.
Tunnelling is worse now than its ever been, and its the hardest to do now then ever.
-
Gen speeds imo will solve tunnelling because gens fly so fast now getting it down to 3v1 ASAP is the only way
