I find it sad that people complain about camping and tunneling and want to punish killers by reducing their blood points to zero. Devs have even said that it’s a legitimate strategy. Heck, the perk insidious encourages camping.
If a survivor gets caught, they should get better at the game. They can work out a strategy in the chat before the match starts, or even invite each other to their Discord server. They could run perks that will help them avoid the killer, or even break free from the killer. They can even jump off the hook and have their teammates body block the killer so they could get away.
Heck, they could use the BEST STRATEGY against camping which is to just have their teammates power through generators and end the match while the killer is wasting time. Sure, one would die, but at least that way 3 will live and the killer would get minimal points.
Not everyone plays a top killer. Many of the killers are underpowered and need to be reworked or buffed in order to get a chance to do good.
Is camping a good strategy? No, it’s not, but all of the cons that come with it are punishment enough. Sometimes, killers don’t have an option to run around to look for survivors because they don’t have enough perks from other killers unlocked in order to track them. Maybe the killer isn’t “pro” enough to compete with the survivor so they resort to camping? Maybe the killer enjoys camping? Why should a killer care about how enjoyable the experience for the survivor is in the first place? It’s obvious that most survivors don’t care how much fun the killer is having.
Don’t be mad at the killer, be mad at your overly altruistic teammates for not rushing gens. Be mad at yourself for being caught, especially when the devs have put plenty of things into the game to help you avoid being seen, caught, or even help you escape.
Instead of telling other players to get good at a video game, you should get good yourself.
I agree with almost everything you said but I dont like the get good saying ng. Because it does nothing to try and get the ones who ONLY play survivor or ONLY play killer to see things from the side.
A lot of killers think key should be completely gone.which I can understand being a killer main myself. But I don't think it's the key that's the issue it's the requirements to use it and the fact that there's literally no draw back to having it.
I'd much rather see something be done about DS than see a nerd to keys.

Bring a mori then smh
Guess you've been missing all the people crying about moris too. Which to be fair moris are one of the very few ACTUALLY OP things that killer has.
Which is ironic cause I almost never see moris when playing survivor
-
Don't know what to tell ya, if survivors would stop crying for killer nerfs and the devs didn't make the survivors the power role you'd probably almost never see camping

Bless you for trying 🙏
Ok, so when in a random match, team work happens yeah? All the time? Nice drivel 👍 of course there's no counterplay to face camping, it's why bad killers use it and why survivors find it frustrating.
As a killer that plays with all killers, at rank 1 i sometimes I even run no perks and add ons just for the fun of it. I have NEVER had a group of survivors smash out gens in under 5 minutes. So yeah, that only happens to bad killers
I am using counterplay to mean that there's something realistic that can be done about it. In this game, that comes down to skill and/or perks.
So well done, for being *not allowed to say because of rules*
Lol ASYMETRICAL if you can't get your team to coordinate that's survivors fault not the killers. Clearly someone never played evolve and you definitely don't understand what the POINT of an asymetrical game is.
Survivors should "just do gens" if someone is getting camped or learn how to lose the killer and actually not get caught. See I can make up stupid points too lol.
Yeah basically your whole 3rd paragraph is a lie in some form or another you either DONT play killer or you are lying about how good you are with killer lol. Put up a stream of you playing as killer I'd be more than happy to watch a pro prove me wrong 😂
Like I said you don't know what counter play is.
Right back at ya 😘
-
@gamerscrybecauseofme said:
Lol all this drivel has counterplay.
-Its not fun to be looped around the entire map and have 3 gens pop back to back
Don't be chasing a survivor that long. Run perks that slow gen progress
-Its not fun getting hit by pallets over and over
Don't run through pallets. Run enduring, spirit fury
-Its not fun to get body blocked by three people while you're trying to hook someone
Hit them! Run mad grit, agitation, iron grasp
-Its not fun to be blinded by two or three people after you finish a long chase
Pick up a survivor while facing a wall/tree. Run lightborn
-Its not fun for a killer to have to deal with borrowed time
Don't camp!
-Its not fun for killers to get repeatedly flashlight clicked or t-bagged over and over
This is just crybaby nonesense
-Its not fun when a killer finally catches a tryhard and they DC because they can't handle getting hooked or killed
I feel this, I hate that too. At least it's becoming punishable
-its not fun for a killer to be doing a good job through out the whole match and the survivors escape with a key
If you're doing a good job, they won't even see a hatch.
-its not fun when survivors hide through out the whole match and barely try to do the gens because they're too scared to do the gens and don't want to get caught
Get out the potato ranks (by not camping)
-Its not fun when survivors dc because they don't like the map
As previously stated
-its not fun when survivors dc because they don't like the killer
As above
-Its not fun when survivors suicide on hook because they're angry babies
Survivors tend to when camped
-Its not fun when a swf on comms coordinate to repeatedly loop and locker stun the killer
Yeah, swf is brutal. Git gud
-Its not fun when a killer is trying to hook someone only to find someone broke the hook
Honestly, how often does that really happen?
-its not fun for Trapper to find out his trap was broken
They regenerate
-Its not fun to play Plague because her power depends on the Survivors actions
I like playing plague, survivors are either 1 hit down and I get to down them at distance
-Its not fun to face a group of survivors that have 4 toolboxes and one or two brand new parts and power through all the gens in 5 minutes.
Franklin's demise, corrupt intervention, ruin, Thana, dying light, pgtw, surveillance, overcharge.... it's ALWAYS the killers fault if gens get done in under 5 mins
So, what's the counter for being camped/face campes and tunnelled?
I can tell you don't play killer lol or at the very least are terrible at killer lol know what gives it away "it's always the killers fault if gens get done in 5 minutes"
That statement right there along with the fact that you don't k ow what counter play actually is pretty much makes this whole post invalid. Almost everything you said has already been addressed and explained why your wrong or you literally don't even make a point lol
Counter to tunnel called body blocking, and team coordination. There is no counter play to face camping its literally just hope you have the perks to deal with it. And you can coordinate well enough to get the save then escape .

You kind of can't bring Franklin's or dodge lobbies when there's a Killer with a Mori. Not to mention that I literally have nothing in my power to control whether Survivors are able to find a key in a chest, during the trial. It happens more often than not in my games. Otherwise, I always dodge key lobbies. I think a simple fix is to make it where Survivors can't find keys in chests during the trial, of purple or pink rarity, or that the only person who can escape via the Hatch is the user of the Key, not all Survivors. And also, Ebony Mories should be after 2nd hook, since it will be the same thing regardless; if you get downed after you get hooked twice, you're gonna die either way, unless you have DS. Ebont Mories will then only exist for the achievement, or to just get the kill satisfaction.
If it was after second hook they would be used less than they already are due to time wasted

You're not concerned about balance you're concerned about surviving/winning and it's apparent by the fact that you cried about an item that barely gets used in the first place

Pretty straight forward you're more worried about nerfing an item that barely gets used to begin with than ACTUALLY addressing the huge discrepency of survivors vs killer

I love how you assume that I am somehow completely fine with the game ending in 5 minutes just because it was done by survivors. I don't like the game ending quickly at all, I'd prefer longer more interesting games. I don't like how gens go by so fast.
It shows a lot about you when you're so quick to call me out as a survivor main without even knowing who I am. You're more focused on namecalling than the actual issue.
Yet you're first thing to request is needing moris lol how about you fix the balance of survivor against killer FIRST before complaining about the only thing the has even remotely any ACTUAL effect against gen rush by good survivors.
That was almost a decent deflection

Hi all. Just completed my last challenge in level 3 *smug mood activated*
But seriously, my last challenge was Decisive Light. As a long time player, I actually did not know that you can blind a killer and they don't necessarily drop their survivor.
Why is this? I've noticed that sometimes as killer I've been pallet hit and haven't dropped my survivor.
Have to do it at the end of the pickup animation because it's uninterruptible
-
Guess what killers hate games where they get only 1 or in the worst case scenario 0 kills and then toxic survivors sit at the gate waiting for the killer to show up just so they can tbag in front of him lol
It's an asymetrical game. It baffles me when people are like I can't get them to play as a team, lol did you even try you know like bringing them into your chat. When evolve came out any time I played Hunter is said all the randos a party invite and you know what the vast majority of the time they would join.
Sounds to me like you have a survivor mentality problem not a killer tunneling problem lol
Asymetrical means 4 v 1 means WORK AS A TEAM lol
-
Lol you complain about the game ending in 3 minutes but survivors can borderline end a game in that time a strong set of survivors can end a game in 5 minutes, what's 2 less minutes? 🤣 Lmao I love how the hypocrisy just eludes survivor mains

And they all had trash points which tells me they weren't even remotely competent

Wraith, ghosty face, pig. Unless you're running spine chill or key you don't know they are there until it's too late. They are easy enough to loop but they generally get at least one free hit I can get distance on the other killers so long as I have a terror radius to work with.

Camping and slugging can be prevented if the survivors are good. Using a mori is just a coinflip if you get found first and if you do, and the killer is focused on killing you once you get unhooked then bam, you're out.
It's also not the only way to win. This just sounds like you would rather have easy games instead of actually improving your killer gameplay. Apply pressure and you'll see that survivors will have a harder time pumping out those gens.
Have you also considered that if you're facing good survivors and you get outplayed, then you weren't supposed to win anyway? You're not entitled to win every game. It's important to take a loss and learn from it.
Run baby sitter, you now have a counter to hook tunneling
Also I agree take your L and learn from it. Until survivors actually become balanced Mori can stay how it is. A strong survivor can loop a killer for half the game like wise a smart killer will abandon chase.

Try body blocking a killer who is faster than you and is focusing a different survivor, I'll wait. This is a non argument. Body blocking does not stop tunneling, it can only delay it. And when you're body blocking instead of doing gens, you're just helping the killer by giving them more pressure.
Yeah it's easy it's called coordination. And cutting off the chase playing as oh I don't know A TEAM lol and unless the killer is a completel and utter idiot he's not going to just keep trying for the same kill with 3 other survivors blocking him.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Because gen rushing is something generally the killer can control in most cases. Most of the time when people say they were gen rushed they just weren't applying enough pressure. There are of course rare cases where a 4 man swf join in with the sole objective of getting out as quickly as possible, not much you can do in that situation.
However tunneling is something out of the survivor's control. Not only is it incredibly unfun to go up against but especially for new players that are trying to get a feel for the game. A lot of my friends abandoned the game after being camped and tunneled, and I'm sure the same can be said for many others.
Yes, tunneling is a valid tactic as much as anything else and no you don't have to abide by any rules, but consider that when you do tunnel it does make the experience suck for someone else and might push them away from the game, which in turn just hurts the game.
And also, just because one person did something to piss you off, doesn't mean it's OK for you to do something equivalent back to another random person who wasn't involved. That's just stooping to their level.
Tunneling is in the survivors control it's called body blocking. If you were actually concerned about it the team would make a concerted effort to block the killer. But I guess it's asking too much to get off your gen lol.

The fact that some survivors have exploited bugs in the past—while equally scummy—is not an excuse for killers to be freely exploiting the basement bug... and acting like it's their God-given right to do it at that, just because they got hit with a DS their last game. (Pro tip: you can literally counter DS by not tunneling. Wild, I know.)
Stop making excuses for cheap exploits. It's garbage *no matter who does it* the end.
Prove that they knew they were doing it intentionally if the only ever play killer they might not even know it's a thing. Can't punish someone for a glitch that literally doesn't require them to do anything out of the ordinary to do.

Why do people think this only happens because I tunnel?
I'm the one who is the one who more often than not is the one who does it to killers -- not that survivors do it to me.
People need to stop making excuses for this perk.
As a killer, I tunnel more deliberately because I refuse to constantly count four different 60 second timers and I ain't putting up with the very same ######### I do as killers. I do it, so I know how powerful it is, and I rather secure two kills than risk getting none because I played as a good sport and get rewarded with T-bags at the gates and with people wiggling their ass at me as they crawl out knowing there would be jack ######### I can do.
Also Ruin strongly effects the game? Should I start showing you clips of many many many many many many many games where Ruin gets destroyed within the first 30 seconds and then the killer is left with a dead perk for the remainder of the match? DS at the very least buys you up to 2 minutes of time before you die or an extra health state. Sometimes it buys you two minutes even if you do not have it equipped. Ruin does not do this whatsoever.
The difference between Ruin and DS is that Ruin only effects people who can't hit great skill checks. DS impacts killers regardless if they're good or not because even if you leave them slugged, you still aren't gaining the pressure you normally would from hooking someone.
The double standards that it's not okay for killers to tunnel, but apparently it's perfectly fine for survivors to gen rush this quickly:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxkk5sH6zRI
I play both sides pretty evenly, and even as a solo survivor, I have such an easy time just because DS exists and no other reason and I find it frankly kind of BS.
I'm not against an anti tunneling perk, but while they designed DS to be one, that is simply not what it is. It's far more than that.
Something with this perk has to go.
Either the stun timer needs to be knocked down a little bit,
or it needs to deactivate when exit gates are powered/EGC starts so killers who respect it the entire match aren't cucked by it at the end anyways,
or it needs to be deactivated when the survivor who has it starts unhooking other people so it's a proper defensive perk instead of bashing the killer in the face with a shield of immunity while insulting the killer that they're a naughty tunneler if they even attempt to retaliate against them.
But hey, I will continue to abuse the ever living ######### out of it until the devs fix it. That's the type of gameplay they wanna promote? Fine.
Feels like another insta-blind flashlight moment. Maybe we need to send Mathew to another live Korean event where he gets his butt embarrassed in front of a live audience once more by being DSed as people crawl out multiple times before it gets fixed despite respecting the perk the entirety of the match.

I think it should be based on the survivors ability to get the killer into bloodlust cause then it rewards skill it actually is acting as an anti tunnel perk and them it actually adds REAL counter play on the killers part
And you're absolutely right every1 automatically assumes it's just killers who think it's a stupid perk.
I love it as survivor but it's broke as hell there's zero counter play to it.

Suppose to. But I have experienced facing Red Rank survivors when I am below Rank 10 myself. I don't know if its a glitch, or what, but its nonsense.
Cant match with even tanked survivors if there's few killers to begin with. The ouny of people who play killer especially on console is way smaller. Even more so at red rank because once you get to red rank you get super sweat survivors, that's why you see WAYYYY more red ranks survivors than killers. That and playing survivor is significantly easier overall and more easily rewarded work towards pipping
-
Yeah I already had a whole discussion on that god awful perk.
Personally I feel like it should be based off of your ability as a survivor, you get DS if you can get the killer to BL 1 maybe 2 (thoughts) if you get him to whatever requirement you want for bloodlust you get the ability to use DS anytime in the match you want one time. This way you actually earned it. It' rewards good play on both sides and provides an ADTUAL counter to DS

Slightly off topic but related, has anyone on console, or even PC, been getting a lot of failed to join check your mat setting errors since the update(as aurvivir/) cause since the update on top of long times just queing for a killer I'm constantly getting the check your mat settings error how to making it take even longer.

If that were true, so does No Ed, Spirit Fury, Camping + Make Your Choice, etc etc.
Listen, if you're going to go there don't pretend as if the killer side doesn't have stuff that is considered "top tier".
IDC if a perk is top tier there's always going to be a tier of perks, my point was that there is zero counter play to DS because for survivors it grants way to much passively even if slugged it's a perk there has zero counter play and slugged or not you ALWAYs benefit from the perk.

4ks being saftey pips are kinda dumb though. The whole ranking system is dumb though. The game becomes a whole lot more enjoyable when you stop even looking at the number in the top right corner and just start playing the game.
I agree with that but I also like actually trying to work towards something it's a trade off. Iand even if you ignore the number when they give you silvers /bronze even though you do well because you ended it to quick it's just like wth

Um what. Lol it's a killer thing that's specific to console. Killers need to be taylored to the platforms since you can't taylor the platform to the game. So no it's a killer thing unless you gonna suggest that they reach out to Microsoft to adjust analog input sensitivities 🤣
-
Terrible against any competent team on console it's virtually impossible to make use of his odd.
You can literally just run left or right from his charge unless he's super far away he'll never hit you with the charge.
Like wise if he is using club, no charge it's very easy to juke because he has very little control over aiming the club smash (again this is WITHOUT using his demon dash)his movement during DD is better than billies but his aiming with the club is terrible, which honestly, is way more important especially since they needed blood orb drops, increased DD Startup time and recover time when stopping.
I've been able to win games with him by just primarily treating him as an M1 killer and rarely using his ability, which is extremely sad and boring. If I try to use his power once in a blue moon it helps but more often than not it's a detriment.

You know I still wouldn't like it cause there's no counter play BUT it would be MUCH more tolerable. Because at least it wouldn't be so dang long. My solution would be to set it so that it can only activate if killer has made it to bloodlust 1. Once bl1 is hit the user gets to use it once WHENEVER the killer picks them up no time limit.
This punishes the killer for not being able to end a chase quickly rewards strong looping, and prevents the perk from being a waste and it was earned. It's be semi similar to old except it's completely based on who is better at loops and gives at least a semblance of counter play.
But I think even a time reduction would be good

Dh you can bait out if I miss because of dh that's on me now granted if they are at or coming on a pallet it might cost you a loop but so long as they didn't get to a god loop or really strong loop you should be able to make up that lost time and again it's completely baitable
The only reason I use it at all is cause weirdly there's still a lot of killers who don't bait it out even in red rank. If more killers had patience it's be a garage perk. I actually think bl, lithe, SB are better in all honesty. The only good thing about DH is your guaranteed to always have a chance to at least USE it whenever you want barring insta downs.
Vs DS there's no true counter.
As for key and hatch yeah those can be frustrating because it allows survivor to escape that didn't deserve it but that's only once in blue moon those have cost me a survivor or 2 (if it was key hatch) and you can still kill key person they are least have to go out of their way to get it now and closing hatch at the end well that's kind of a gamble I wouldn't say that leans one way or the other. It does offer a survivor opportunity that they really dont deserve. But the mechanic itself is random all about where it spawns and who can find it so that's all luck.

It means that the majority of players are randos who don't know each other.
Okay, that has no baring on how quick the gens are to do rando or no rando base gen with no regression perks, no speed repairing is 80 seconds that's insanely quick for how crap the regression perks are and how easily COUNTERED they are.
It also has no baring on how crap the pipping system is where you literally have to let survivors get unhooks to ensure you pip.
I'll use my most extreme situation that happened a few days ago.
I was playing ghort face downed a survivor I don't know wth went through the teams head but a lot bad plays happened all hit I think all of them or almost all of them on the way to hook then they all kept trying to rescue before I even got away from the hook . I literally completed the game faster than it took to load. Didn't even pip it made for a funny game but come on lol now this is the extreme end never had it be that bad previously hab. but I've had games where get multiple hits several survivors double hooked but because 2 got away I barely safety pip. The game wants killers to play well but not TOO well if you are going to pip.

They can call my bluff and pull me out of the locker. It add's more depth to the game. The killer can take the risk if they want. Or, maybe they were paying attention to previous chases with me and know all 4 perks I'm running and know that I can't possibly have DS.
They are inherently taking the risk of chasing me after I just got unhooked. That is the killer's mistake, knowing that DS exists. They know they are taking a risk by chasing me. They can eliminate that risk by chasing somebody else. There is no counter-play if you choose to chase the person who was unhooked. The only counter-play is changing targets. And I think that is good for the game. Nobody likes getting tunneled.
But again that's like saying abandoning a chase cause survivor got to a god loop or is by a god loop is counter play. That's not counter play, you aren't outsmarting or playing them it's literally the opposite it's giving up/cutting your losses.
It's like saying cause you lost 500 bucks gambling out of 1k you outplayed the casino
No you didn't you just decided not to to give them ALL your money but they still got half of it lol

There is one thing you said that is probably the reason it isn't nearly as useful to me. Despite much effort and practice I can't seem to get good enough at looping to make it a viable strategy for me. I've become really good at being stealthy, but if I need to loop a killer I may as well have an option pop up onscreen that asks if I'd like to just be transported to the nearest hook.
Lol that's funny but I understand and you're right if you can't loop then it honestly probably won't be as useful cause they can redown you quickly.
But if you can loop and he eats the DS unless you're really far away from any tiles you can extend a chase even longer. So to me it's great no matter how they handle it ALMOST every time. The only MINOR downside is if you do get tunneled well you probably aren't pipping because you can't do other objectives lol. But Idc about pips on survivor

@DarthRane It's a frustrating perk to play against. I agree. I was just trying to give you the other side of it. I personally stopped running it because I would only get the chance to use it once every 10 games. I hit rank 1 survivor for the first time this season on PC, and killers just tend to ignore you for 60 seconds after the unhook. I like having the ability to get off the hook, and if the killer decides to chase me, I hop into a locker right in front of them and they just leave me alone and go after another target because they assume I have DS.
I'm rank 3 killer right now, and I just find I get more bloodpoints and have more fun in matches if I just pretend the people that get unhooked don't exist for 60 seconds. That way Borrowed Time and DS don't do anything, and most survivors are running both of them these days.
And since I play both roles pretty evenly, I want to be nice to the survivors and not tunnel the person who got unhooked. Survivor queues are ~10 minutes on PC as well, and I don't want to tunnel someone to force them back into playing queue simulator.
You don't see the problem with that? They just leave you in the locker to "counter" ds... That's worse than slugging even if you don't directly USE the perk you just got use out of it, and now if you okay like you DO have it they can't know so if the leave you alone to "counter" it well now they left you alone for no reason. That's why I say there is no counter. Every situation for DS is beneficial for the survivor.
An annoying perk is borrowed time or adrenaline (god adrenaline is annoying lol) adrenaline only works if it gets to end game BT only helps if they did it in your terror radius, DS benefits you no matter how the killer decides to tackle it, slug, eat the DS, or the in the situation you just mentioned and I honestly forgot about , abandoning someone cause they jumped in a locker.
That's the difference between annoying and zero counter play.

As a survivor main I'm in the minority with my opinion of DS. For me the only time it is useful is if the gate is open and you can use it to buy enough time to escape. Using DS any earlier than that and you can almost guarantee being tunneled. I considered it a must have until I realized every time I used it the killer would tunnel me mercilessly. So for me it's one of those risky perks. It can be a life saver if you don't need it until the gates are open. If you need it before then it's a likely death sentence.
See I don't care either way, if I get slugged I tell my team how long I have if he picks me up well then I run more loops on the killer. It's just too strong, and is literally always beneficial to the survivor regardless of how the killer plays it slug or not, and if you have unbreakable you can potentially get 2 free health states but that's why I choose to eat the DS so I can just get it out of the way. Cause slugging isn't a counter to it.

You don't need balanced to use tractors effectively.
No you don't but you literally just made an argument against it by saying that. If you don't need balanced to play it effectively then you just admitted that balanced makes it even stronger

FREE HEALTH STATE I can't make it any more clear than that so what they're not working on gens they can get most of the healing done on their own so at an absolutely MAXIMUM a survivor has to spend 3 seconds reviving them yeah they may not be doing a gen but they aren't losing a health state either and the other survivors if they are playing smart can still work a gen it benefits the survivors not matter what you do. Whether it's early game or late game. So what if I'm "winning" it is literally 100% beneficial for them no matter how you deal with it. Slug or pick them up slug well now they don't lose a health state no one has to come get them for at least 30 to 40 seconds, eat the DS well you can either chase or just say screw it and look for someone else that's gonna completely depend where that DS happened.
Your problem is you don't care because IH IM winning right now. (Theoretically) I'd argue that you really only achieved anything if they lost a health state on the hook. It's like saying because you hit everyone youre winning. You're not, hook health state is the ONLY thing that matters for killer. Until you get a hook health state you have NOT made progress on killing them because no matter how many times you hit them unless they get hooked they have the same amount of health states they dont progressively lose it. Which would be fine if you didn't have to constantly juggle survivors to try and keep up map pressure and deal with perks that prevent you from actually progressing your objective (health state hooks)
I can tell were probably not going to be on the same page and that's fine. I can deal with bullcrap lol but not a lot of people can I bring it up because I like to play survivor frequently as well and it's hard to do that when I'm waiting 15, 20, or 30 minutes. I don't know what the wait times o. PC are or the other consoles but the Xbox survivor ques are terrible I have a feeling it's comparable at least to the other consoles.

Yeah, she's a GREAT KILLER but a terrible pipper
