For every round that "gen rush finishes the game in 6 minutes" theres at least 1 round of "kill rush finished the game in 6 minutes".

Maybe we should extend gen times and make survivors go down after 3 hits? To stop kill rush?

If you got "kill rushed" that is entirely 100 % the fault of the survivors. Even more so if it happened in swf lol

Very many people see the Kindred buff as an incredibly good change, even killer mains. Anything that makes solo survivor actually bearable is a good move in my book.

Information perks are strong, yes. But something like Kindred is only active while someone is on the hook and helps improve survivor coordination and make it less likely for someone to get 1 or 2 hooked before dying. When survivors are more coordinated in general, we can then buff killers accordingly. I do think buffing solo close to swf is the way to go.

So then you do want to chase out the rest of your killer players lol. As it stands right now if solos got buffed to be as strong as SWF then I think gonna lose a lot of the remaining killers. Because very few of us trust them to bring killers up to snuff, given the changes they have made in the past and their completely disregard for any killer concerns. They try to placate issues being sticking Band-Aids on them rather than addressing it at the core

They were wounded when they did the window juke, so actually no speed boost would’ve mattered, in fact, they would’ve gotten hooked.

I did pay attention to his killer, he should have no problem picking a certain part of the map to patrol and the survivors would be on one hit down so they couldn’t make it to the god loop. Unless they cleanse which isn’t a good play.

I’d recommend you use this advice in future games if that loop is a big problem for you. :)

Lmao now you're just making ######### up I rewatched it just to make sure I wasn't remembering the video I correctly again there was no survivor ALREADY injured that he let vault a window so he made the right play. But nice try and if you think I missed it provide the time stamp.

I noticed you gave up on the respect pallets argument because you realized in this situation I was right about that to. So again the only thing that was really wrong with the play in this video is his first chase.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Yes the game is survivor sided because of RNG. At times it is also killer sided but let's just ignore those.

Vast majority of maps are in survi it's favor regardless of the tiles, the primary difference is whether or not you have a god tier loop connection or just a strong loop connection.

About the only thing that plays in the killers favor MOST of the time is the gates at end game collapse they are almost always close enough to monitor if you're down to a single survivor scenario

  • @GrootDude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/906624#Comment_906624

You’re ignoring how he let survivors go behind him and vault those windows even though he could’ve hit people doing this, doesn’t matter if he only respected one, he shouldn’t respect any.

One survivor used it while the others didn’t, he could’ve just patrolled one part of the map so the god loop wouldn’t of been a problem.

Lol okay so he woulda hit them and then they woulda got the Sprint boost and now they are not broken by the plagues ability he made the right play with the killer he was playing lol. You're showing your lack of knowledge my friend.

I agree he shouldn't have respected any but the point stands if they aren't punishing him for it aka actually taking advantage of that actual loop he has no insentive to stop respecting it

So again up until the the one survivor hit him he made the right play. It's only a bad play if they actually take advantage of the respect of they just plop it down then he has made the right move. This why I stated already they were mediocre survivors at best can speak about the blonde cause all she did was abuse the god loop lol although the gen play was interesting

Patrol the gens lol I guess you didn't pay attention to the map he was on or the killer he was playing 😂 and the one gen with Sprint granted easy access to god loop no matter which way the survivor went

It amazes me the mental gymnastics people go throw to justify the lop sidedness of this game

  • @GrootDude said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/906537#Comment_906537

These survivors weren’t mediocre and that killer (no offense) wasn’t playing optimally, respecting pallets is a good way to lose and that window juke they kept pulling is a very obvious trick, if he didn’t do those things he probably could’ve 4ked.

Also, nurses is a terrible perk choice on Plague, people already don’t cleanse against her so nurses is a wasted slot.

Lol he respected one pallet that actually cost him a loop every other one he woulda got hit, that's how you know the survivors aren't good

Perks are irrelevant. Lol there was no juking at the shack it was literally just running until entity closed the loop. Unless you're referring to the begging prior to chase but that really had almost no outcome o. The baring if the match

I love how you gloss over the fact that Blondie was abusing god loop which completely negates anything the killer can do and aside from that almost every other chase with the exception of the first one was ended probably as fast as they could have been with the mechanics currently in the game.

Ok?? Guess what ima do if killer has bamboozle? Ima run to another loop and wait out 15 seconds then rotate back to that loop untill he hits me then I get a sprint burst and run to another loop, btw i play both sides so I understand every aspect to the game and I can tell you right now that bamboozle does absolutely nothing it's a wasted slot.

Exactly, any smart survivor who sees bamboozle is going to the next loop of which there's plenty,

It's so painfully obvious when people are speaking from low rank perspectives

Explain yourself? How does Gen pressure not exist? Everyone else seems to do it..

It's pretty simple really, if you're chasing one survivor that's 3 others doing something else. Let's say for arguments sake, the killer only has to protect one gen and there's 4 survivors .unless he NEVER moves from it the gen WILL get done unless the survivors are just absolutely terrible at looping or don't know the map.

Now he COULD cut chases short just to make sure no progress on the gen gets done but now they will just be in a perpetual loop of healing each other after the killer abandons chase.

Now expand this out to 5 gens.

Here's an example of a MEDIOCRE team just completely bullying an otherwise fairly optimal killer you tell me what the killer could have done cause as far as I can tell the only part he really maybe messed up on was the beginning this is on console

    https://youtu.be/rg7NuoETUyI

  • @Jukenobi said:

I would suggest dropping chase if you feel you're wasting time chasing? Try applying Gen pressure instead. If they are just hanging around a good loop like that, they aren't doing objectives.

Gen pressure isn't a real thing and is probably one of the worst things to say. There is no such thing as gen pressure

  • @rch614 said:

So why was this listed as a poll? :P

The game is extremely hard to balance. They're on the right track with the kindred buff, but solos will never have the same power level as SWF on voice comms unless voice was added for everyone, which I hope they don't do.

That said, I do think the game is more balanced than it's ever been. Various outliers still exist, but they're not as pronounced as people want to believe.

Lmao the kindred buff is NOT the right track, the long and short of it is with the current game mechanics you should not be able to just wilfully provide information. Information is literally one of the biggest hindrances to killer baring any OP perk called DS lol

  • Don't worry in another 2 years the game will finally be balanced lol it took to years to get the killers to a point where it's not COMPLETELY impossible to have a good match just.

  • @BunnyTheHutt said:

Title. It feels like every other game has a survivor team who just holds M1 and does all the gens in 5 mins. The only counter I found is being Gen Slow Freddy, but it's such a boring build IMO that I just loose all fun playing it. Tru3 on twitter even said he's done playing killer because of how bad it's gotten. I shouldn't have too play a boring build just too have a chance at red ranks.

Something needs too be done with gens too make killer actually fun again. You either run a super gen slow build and make them game lasts 10 years and become bored out of your mind, or play a fun build but loose after 5 mins. I don't know what exactly needs too be done, whether it's more gen time or nerf too toolboxes and Prove Thyself, but something needs too be done so red ranks don't feel so miserable.

    It's alright, let's reminisce

    https://youtu.be/qnwdPlx9yR4

In roughly 2 years we've come this far from what's above so I think in another 2 years killers and survivors might actually be in a pretty balanced state 😋 let's see if the killers can make it to that point I'm surprised some of them even stayed this long honestly having seen the state of the game previously.

Also note, the video above pretty much shows how out of touch the devs are with killers that they had to remove and readd the same feature on multiple occasions, all I can say is I'm glad I didn't play through that crap. I can bare the non sense we have now but that would have drove me absolutely crazy

  • @tylerlogsdon1 said:

I'd just like it if hitting a good didn't regress it. Hitting a good should make the Sparks fly but just pause the progress for whatever amount of time it does. While the progress is paused you shouldn't be able to get skill checks, low ranks just ######### them up 3 times in a row.

You can easily not get more skill checks while progrssion is paused it's called stop repairing til it's done finished it's animation. Can you really not be bothered to let go of the repair button lol

Pausing the timer would be even more miniscule.ruin is already a very crappy yet necessary perk lol imagine how it feels needing to have a perk but the perk itself really isn't even good lol.

I had ruin up and 3 gens were done in like a minute through it; I don't know what I am supposed to do with that.I pressured the gens as fast as someone without whispers can possibly pressure them, there was just nothing I could do.

Gen pressure isn't a real thing. unless you have a traversal ability this is even more true on large maps on smaller ones you can do a little bit of gen monitoring but if you're chasing one survivor that's 3 other survivors who can be doing gens and if they are all competent you're going to have gens completed really quick.

When people say "pressure gens" what's basically being implied is find a person or 2 on gen hopefully hit one go back and HOPE that survivor had some balls and tried working on that same gen. Or abandon chase and go to another gen. Or hope that your chase gets lead into more team mates on another gen.

But gen pressure isn't a real thing unless you're Billy (on the right map) nurse, Oni(when he has his ability) and ... Maybe hag but hag is more about prep and setups.wraith and spirit kind of have gen pressure more so spirit but really spirit more excels at ending chases than necessarily pressuring gens. Wraith KIND of has pressure since he can move pretty damn fast while cloaked course obvious problem is that you need to exit cloak before you can even hit someone.

But again really gen pressure is not a real thing for the reason stated earlier, if your chasing one that's 3 others potentially pushing out gens

Yeah it is absolutely the strongest slowdown perk in the game (when it lasts more than 10 seconds), I just don't like almost anything about its design anymore.

Yup I agree really the problem comes down to the fact that none of the gen slow down perks are really THAT good and unfortunately it's basically mandatory to bring them lol, I been running a skoppy, than, nurses, and discordance build with Oni against boo boo swf I clean house against any competent team though and I just hate life lol gen slow down is mandatory against decent teams (they don't even have to be extremely good lol just have some basic decent fundamentals)

More like I dont see the point in getting on my PC. Updating DBD which i haven't used on PC since Dedicated Servers (so my rank would be pitiful making this all invalid in your eyes regardless) were introduced because of how buggy they were. Sign up for twitch and stream for what to waste my time to prove you wrong. Seems like a waste of time.

I would rather play on my ps4 without bothering to waste my time trying to impress a random nobody who means nothing to me. So he can try and call me out to feel better about his lack of skill and his overreliance on Ruin.

Wait do people really cheat on speed runs? If so that's kinda sad.

Lol yet you had the where with all to take screen shot, transfer it to phone/PC then attach it here in the forums OKAY 🤣 and unless I'm mistaken PS4 has a streaming option lol

  • @ASpazNamedSteve said:

I've just stopped using Ruin on anyone. It's mega boring for both sides, gives you no feedback, and is 100% unreliable.

The other gen slow-down perks are way more interactive and interesting to me, especially since they're consistent.

This I can agree with it's just a pitty that the alternatives are still substantially weaker and the fact that gen slow down is basically mandatory against any competent team really reduces the amount of unique builds

"The classic counterplay of pallets and windows."

More than half the cast of the killers move at the same speed as him and have to deal with pallets and windows WITHOUT being able to cross the entire map, one hit down, have almost 100% uptime on those abilities and have insane control over them, and they get by.

Arguing that a killer with an ridiculous potential for a very low skill requirement like Oni has is balanced because "windows and pallets exist" is just naive.

Yes because running pallet to pallet to god loop is sooooo skillful. Lol your pallets and your windows are your counter play. Oni power isnt that good LITERALLY all you gotta do is hide when you hear him roar, if you get caught out without cover that's on you, you know when he uses his ability, it goes across the entire map.

I dont need to stream or even care enough to try. I'm not someone who needs to prove anything to anyone. I don't need ruin because I learned the difference between wasting time and using it efficiently long ago.

I'm surprised someone actually understands CI is better on Trapper than Ruin. Guaranteed set up time vs RNG based slow down. Not only that you can really set up a late game 3 gen strategy pretty easy.

    I give you props.

Lol spoken like a true person who's been called out, you know who else says stuff like this? Speed runners who got verifiably caught cheating 🤣 it's hilarious really, it's like fakes all use the same rule book of statements when they get called out .

  • Put it ona team with SWF running putrid oak or whatever the hook distance offering is and you'll be in for a very annoying time, it's not a solo perk that's what survivors seem to miss about these types of perks. The game is 4 v 1 not all but there are a number of perks that really only become good once you have SWF squad to run with.

Btw not a Trapper main and yeah I have Ruin for him.

And one of them DC lol what a joke

  • While I'm not against tunneling this doesn't sound like reason for tunneling build post. This just sounds like a "I hate a few people so I've decided I'm going to tunnel them all the time" post and you're looking for validation.

  • Pretty easy challenge fixated, Sprint burst, spine chill, dance with me

You could also drop dance with me for iron will incase they manage to get a hit on you or switch out SB for lithe for some more synergy with dance with me

  • @chris360r said:

I like the dull totem idea but that would synergize too well with other slow down perks causing killers to have a bigger advantage in the beginning especially in low ranks. This may also lead to the death of Hex builds if survivors are more actively looking for them.

Death of hex builds... Lmao WHAT hex builds the only actual hex builds people use that isn't a meme build is spirits thrill of the hunt setup lol.

Hex builds don't exist because hexes are all in terrible locations over half the time.

But while dashing he can only do a 90 degree turn at once at the most. And after that, he can't immediately turn another 90 degree, which is why I would say at most pallet loops his dash doesn't help. Like, he can only do 180 degree turns with his lunge, but once he gets in the position where he needs to lunge to turn and get the survivor at a pallet loop, the survivor should be able to have gained enough distance from that exact position where Oni is forced to lunge from.

If the loops are big enough on all four sides, then he can dash around the entire loop despite the inferior turning, but few loops are actually big enough to allow that. T-L walls for example, that's where his dash is pretty weak, but of course it comes down to mindgames. I would argue that Oni has counterplay at loops like jungle gyms, but that doesn't mean survivors don't have any counterplay at those loops. Wretched Shop's two windows loop however, that's a loop you can not run against Oni since every side of the shop is long enough so he can turn and position himself to turn 90 degrees whenever he has to.

Of course when you try using multiple loops that connect to each other, things get a lot more complicated, but he still has counterplay in my opinion.

Also, I wouldn't say stealth is no counterplay to Oni because of addons and perks. Sure there are perks that allow Oni to have counterplay against your stealth, but again this doesn't mean stealth is no counterplay. Sure there are probably a few situations with BBQ and Chili where the perk pretty much hardcounters your stealth, but all in all stealth can still work. Also, I know which addon you are talking about, but that only works when Oni does not have his power activated. He doesn't see Blood Orbs when his power is active.

Personally, I feel like he has enough counterplay for survivors to extend chases long enough to have a good chance to win. But he does allow for mindgames at loops other killers couldn't mindgame at, which gives him also more counterplay in chases. But I don't feel like his power removes the counterplay survivors have.

Funny thing is BBQ doesn't hard counter stealth, there's this lovely thing called LOCKERS and every very rarely have I ever not been able to make it to a locker before a hook is completed

What this boils down to is survivors just want to need every damn killer into the ground.

  • Y'all are funny "no mither is a free win for Oni, collecting a few orbs throughout the map is terribly slow for building his ability, they are only good for tracking if you were already chasing the survivor otherwise they don't spawn fast enough to lead you to the killer .if you try to lead based on orbs it's extremely easy to get double backed on and not even know it.

  • As killer main there's about 2 things I really can't stand, god loops and decisive strike

  • @SammyWasabi said:

Exactly, the Killer's skill doesn't matter if you balance for the 1v1 in a 1v4 game. but if you balance around the 1v4 for a 1v1 chase, what does the survivor's skill matter.

That's why I'm trying to ask for what the best common ground would be.

The survivors skill matters in how long they prolong the chase and in their team working to take heat off of their friend, it's really it that complicated . The chase is NOT a 1 v1 it just feels like it cause rarely ever does anyone get off their ass to help you.

  • @SammyWasabi said:

I'm more or less talking 1v1 as the chase.

Not the game as a whole

The game as a whole (usually) is a 1v4

But the chase (usually) is a 1v1

I'm trying to see what people think is the best middle ground.

If you balance the chase around 1v1 how is the killer supposed to win?

  • @TheCrookedMan said:

I know he's not considered good but I can find strength in the ability to injure multiple survivors in a short period of time

  • No even in red ranks he's good for bp he's up there with doc he just sucks for actually getting hooks and sacrifices

Yeah and they still have all the co trol in the game just about lol, the reason survivors have been getting nerfed can be seen in the dev vs player stream where they got absolutely bullied the whole match. Allow me to paint you a picture but firstly, you're being obstinate and also unnecessarily disparaging, so chill your dongles while you're ahead buddy. Just because they know of someone and have examples of someones game-play doesn't make them a fan, doesn't make them biased.

I've never watched that streamer in my life and only know his name because of Cryoatic does that magically make me biased towards x or y because I know the streamers name and who he knows as a person? No it does not. Perhaps you need to fix your cranial rectal syndrome before you start deciding things that people are or aren't.

Furthermore, this picture I'm going to paint for you - because this streamer is more of a survivor player and did exceedingly well on Oni, you realize that illustrates exactly what the main post and poster have been saying? That the killer is OVER-TUNED

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/902714#Comment_902714

I have heard from a few ex-console people that the game honestly was never really meant to be a console game. I feel for your plight although I have no personal knowledge of whether or not the actual killer is as you say on console. I hope that they can bring consoles to a better place health wise in the future.

However the state of the consoles does not in any way have a bearing on the majority of the player base (PC) and whether or not the killers are incredibly weak/powerful for them. That's like me telling you that your game of golf is wrong and you're being stupid because I know all the rules to pool. It's apples to oranges.

Well actually it does considering the devs are too lazy to make console specific adjustments. Unless you're saying that it consoles don't matter to that I say you're wrong. Also I'd love to see the numbers saying PC is the majority of their player base. That sounds more like an assertion than a fact, and if you say that it came out on PC first that doesn't mean you're right.

Personally I'd like to address the platform specific issues but until devs actually start making console specific adjustments I can't do that. So since ever change affects all platforms and they don't make changes specific to platforms I have to state it as it is. Which is unfortunate cause it puts the console players at odds with the PC players

"Gen rushing" is simply a product of the way the game is designed. Generators are the survivor team's only primary objective and so survivors tend to focus entirely on them. This results in fast-paced matches where generators are repaired relatively quickly.

The term itself just seems to have been coined and used by killers who have had frustrating matches. I personally don't like the term because it just fuels the division and hostility between killers and survivors. If a lot of killer mains played both roles (like I do), then I think they'd better understand that:

    • Survivors have their own frustrating problems.
    • Generator rushing isn't done by survivors to ruin the killer's fun; it's virtually their only objective.

Finally someone who gets it. I understand as a killer main that gen rushing is a product of the design of the game and I understand being a red rank survivor that it's LITERALLY their only ACTUAL objective, literally everything else is optional.

But survivors who play nothing else whine when we say gens are too easy. We have 12 objectives there is no OPTIONAL objective as killer, 8 if we bring ebony Mori and 10 if we bring green.

We need 3 hooks to kill one survivor no Mori , 1 hook to kill a survivor so that means minimum 8 objectives, 4 individual hooks and 4 individual downs.

We literally have more objectives to achieve than there are gens on any map.

Not trying to be negative towards you but I literally never get hit by a chainsaw unless my team wastes every pallet on the map. Whenever I face a Billy or Bubba and I notice they're "chainsaw happy" I usually either escape without getting injured one single time or I get facecamped after looping them for minutes till they go for their bloodlust-m1-swings.

In fact I (almost) made a Bubba rage quit about an hour ago because I noticed he was chainsaw happy so I looped every pallet a million times which was easy as I know his chainsaw's biggest weakness (range+speed). I also noticed he ran charge addons which makes it even easier to loop Bubba into oblivion. Looped between the same windows after dropping a few pallets over and over again till he literally stopped moving for a few seconds. I started laughing while looping the same windows all the time.

He definitely was about to rage quit but (probably) wanted to facecamp me so bad so he "pulled through the match" - with no success.

After minutes of struggling he decided to m1 me just to lose me eventually due to Iron Will. Then the last gen popped. It was that bone shaped azarov map and they were on the other side of the map so they had enough time to open the gates. Easiest 4 man escape I could have thought of.

Matches like these make me wonder how I manage to play whole matches using nothing but the chainsaw. It seems laughably easy to loop a chainsaw happy killers as long as there's some good windows and pallets.

Same goes for Billy. If they're chainsaw happy you can abuse pallets and vaults like hideously easily unless it's a curving Hillbilly who knows what he's doing in which case he deserves to hook me anyday of the week. It's no shame to go down to a curving Billy.

Sorry for sounding arrogant by the way but I really think it's braindead easy to abuse chainsaw happy killers.

Okay we get it your toxic, don't need your life story about it lmao

I don't know what you're doing wrong that the club feels "god awful to hit with" because for me it feels like I barely have to do anything and it'll smack them. I have literally hit people going the opposite direction to me at a distance. Almost every swing from the charge is a down as long as you pick correctly between right or left.

Maybe on PC but that is not happening on console lol

  • Mind linking me to this Scott guys YouTube channel cause I've seen his name mentioned a few times no idea who he is.

  • His chainsaw doesn't mess up his aim for one, 2 until it actually goes he can literally 360 with it, so you're not going to juke it like you can juke onis club, he has access to it the WHOLE map.

Oni needs 2 fresh hit to gain access to his ability, once he has it if he picks someone up he immediately loses access to it. Slugged survivors do not drop crap for orbs actually even just regular injured don't either that's why it's not smart to just farm for orbs after you hit them, 2 if he's in demon mode any SMART survivor will stay hidden till it runs out which is not hard to at all especially in the early game, IF he downs a second survivor with his club again that's a BIG if, they won't drop crap for orbs and he doesn't get a stash of blood either. So once his ability is out he is at square one. And this is why I say for the first half of the game he's an M1 because you should be letting survivors bleed all across the map so that you can actually use your ability multiple times.

Kinda weird when I just got 180'd today, on the other side of a crate as he charges forward, maybe it was a 160 because of the angle but it's pretty ridiculous regardless. It makes almost any loop impossible to survive without wasting a pallet that he breaks within a second. So if that's the game plan then you'll screw over the entire team within the 50 seconds of his power. So again he's a better Billy who snowballs faster than him and all it takes is a single survivor to mess up.

Billy has access to his chainsaw all the time, it's easier to control and actually hit with, yet you're saying he has better snowball potential than Billy. I'm starting to think you're just trolling, because he definitely does not have better snowball potential, he has to actually warn his ability and unless you let people bleed for a while you have limited access to it throughout the game.

The ONLY thing he does better than Billy is he can actually strafe with the charge which again is w/e when his club is god awful to hit with.

I mean you provide no evidence other than your word man, that's not really enough proof. Also yeah you can extend a chase for a while and deny him a hit but you'll also eat through all of the pallets very quickly leaving the end game to be very dangerous. Also running pallet to pallet will eventually lead the chased survivor to another survivor and then the Oni can get a hit in easily.

Okay you show me a video of a good killer even PLAYING a god loop. Lol till them your point is moot. And actually if the killer actually stops to break pallets you SHOULD be able to eventually lose him, if you can't and he's breaking EVERY pallet then that's on you as a survivor. And there are MORE than enough pallets in a single map that by the time you run out should be at 1 or completely done with gens if your team is playing optimally.

I've seen a lot of Oni play, personally don't own him but I've seen Demon strike hit more than miss by a significant margin. Of course this might vary but I watch Scott and Otz a lot and they don't have a problem landing the Demon strike.

No idea who Scott is but as far as I'm aware otz is PC not console which actually has sensitivity options

I was assuming 1 mistake per survivor but in a scenario like this one, if that first person didn't hit the events wouldn't have transpired but if that's not a good scenario where a survivor makes a mistake that leads to everyone losing then fair enough. To say though that a killer making 1 mistake causes a loss is a bit much. If they played perfect and survivors didn't they'd win all the time. I can't think of a situation where the killer loses the match off of a single mistake. It's usually a lot of small ones that build up to a situation where the killer is behind.

One mistake per survivor is 4 mistakes lol your playing as a team and one hit doesn't grant Oni his power so your statement about one survivor costing the whole team is just verifiably false.

Even 2 hits on the same survivor won't do since it only counts for uninjured survivors.

Onis counterplay is pretty simple, as soon as he is in his god mode you stay out of sight. When survivors get injured HEAL, y'all got so comfortable just doing gens while injured you're having a culture shock lol.

If you do get spotted literally just 360 him or keep some obstacles between you, do that and he basically has to revert back to uncharged club swings which basically means M1 lol

Also Myers can potentially take longer to get to his t3 I'd even argue it's almost guaranteed it'll take longer except in rare situations where 3+ survivors don't notice him. But his osd is basically unavoidable because its attached to regular M1 so it has NONE of the issues ONIs club has

Well if every map has a god loop I can take that advice seriously but not many maps do and ontop of that other m1 killers also need to deal with the god loop. Without a good killer showing a god loop though I can only assume the extreme outliers like Rancid Abattior,Coal Tower, etc as other loops may not be handled well by a less experienced killer.

Lol I have already told you the good killers don't mess with god loops, that should be proof enough if it was actually VIABLE to chase a survivor down on god loops they would. Or are you telling me that there's just no killer good enough who's figured it out yet? 🤣

Also I have already addressed your map specific claim. Any survivor who's strictly trying to make a chase last as long as possible can go between enough spots to make a chase last just as long as god loop chases.

Considering I've seen games end in a minute against Oni, there are games that end within the first minute, 2 quick hits from 2 different survivors and then Oni using his power is able to down the other 2 healthy survivors very quickly and end the game from there. That's from my experience in rank 4 right now.

Yeah that's not one mistake that's not even 2 mistakes that's minimum 4 mistakes that were made in that game. There is absolutely ZERO reason that Oni or ANY killer for that matter..... Except for maybe hag depending on luck of teleports. That they should get 2 hits in the first minute. Let alone 4 complete downs. If you think that game was ended by ONE survivor mistake then you are exactly what's wrong with survivor mains

I'm sorry to say but I can't believe you when you say a god loop takes 2-3 minutes of a killers time, if you can provide video evidence of a good killer who gets run through these loops then I'll concede that a god loop can stop this killer from snowballing into a win. I find it a lot more likely that Oni will get a hit and either continue to chase that survivor down while collecting blood orbs or switch to another survivor to get his power quicker.

You already proven my point, a good killer won't waste time on a good loop precisely because of what I just said so you won't see that video because we know how long god loops take.

Very true and the same can be said about survivors. It all depends on the severity of the mistake but 1 mistake shouldn't end a game before it's been a minute.

There is NO mistake with ANY killer that a SINGLE survivor can make and I argue even TWO survivors that will end a game in a minute. Literally every one on the tram has to ROYALLY screw up in order to end the game in the first minute

Oni just has options when it comes to getting his power but I agree hitting someone and then heading elsewhere is the best way to get his power up. Leaves a survivor who needs healing and the Oni needs only one other hit to have his power and snowball. Saying he takes half the game to get 2 hits though is hyperbolic as he's already slowed down the game after the first hit,not by much but the game is slowed.

He's only slowed the game down if they stop to heal, even if they do you just admitted it's only a tiny bit.

First it's not hyperbolic to say it can take half the game to get 2 hits. Let's say for arguments sake you get your first hit in the first 30 aeconds. That's highly unlikely but just for arguments sake. Now let's say that person runs to a god loop almost every god loop can take upwards of 2 to 3 minutes maybe more depending on how good the survivor is. so that potentially 3 Gens done that's half the game so okay same scenario but let's say you abandon chase and look for someone else. Let's say it takes 20 seconds to find someone against just for arguments sake. Now you're chasing them and they get some strong pallets which is not an unlikely scenario. If they literally just put the pallet down and keep running to pallets they can EASILY make a chase last just as long as a god loop. Most hits come when a survivor gets greedy, or attempts to play mind games on the pallet. If they literally just put the pallet down and keep moving they can extend a chases to absurd lengths.

But, honestly it's not about how hard it is to get his power, it's about how useful it actually is. It's absurdly easy to avoid ESPECIALLY on console.

Even if you don't use the demon dash and strictly use the club smash you can almost always 360 it because it terrible to control.

And this is why I say for the first half of the game he's an M1 because if you use his power early and let's just miraculously you can actually get some insta down (not likely against any competent survivor) you now how have almost zero blood orbs on the map. You want all 4 survivors bleeding so that you can gain your power multiple times and actually have some kind of gen pressure. For the last 2-3 gens

If you nerfed how much energy he gets off first hit or nerfed how many blood orbs survivors drop (which they already did once) he would literally be garbage tier and just barely be above legion

Yea, @SirFloofington is correct. Everyone's definition of fun is different. But I personally think he's a little bit over tuned. Maybe reduce how much charge he gets from blood orbs would be best. Because even after the Oni hits just 1 survivor, He's guaranteed his power. If we still had old styptic agent in the game it would be more tolerable because then survivors could use it to deny his power for just a little bit longer. But, going back to current day, He'll just chase the injured survivor and get his power and then steam roll the rest of the match.

Having played him quite a bit now, slugging with him is terrible. Smart survivors just get off gens and hide while his ability is going.

Also chasing 1 survivor after you hit them is literally the worst way to get his ability, they don't drop orbs that fast, as a matter of fact if you want to actually do well with him your best of trying to get everyone injured and THEN hooking a survivor. The first half of the game he's an M1 if you want to do well with him. And when I say well I mean actually have a chance of getting 2 or more survivors sacrificed

  • @SirFloofington said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/902378#Comment_902378

I agree denying that first hit as long as possible is the way to go but isn't always an option. Sometimes you're caught in a bad spot or a teammate is. He's oppressive in the sense that 1 mistake will start to snowball the game quickly. Good Nurses are worse I admit and same with spirits but they're also incredibly rare compared to Oni and his lower skillcap.

Guess what, one mistake can cost a killer an entire match welcome to our world lol.

Alot of you sound like entitled killer mains, if you dont like the survivors start playing top tier killers and get over yourself.

I've been playing oni, ON CONSOLE at high ranks, and I DONT CAMP, yes I come back to the hook eventually but i make sure to proc my pop before i go back

Also saying dont get caught is still the dumbest thing I've EVER heard since day one of this game being released. You literally are full of yourself if you ever think not getting caught is a viable way of playing. If you're a killer main dont say anything about survivors, and this goes for survivor mains as well. Yes face camping sucks, and I personally believe survivors should be awarded bloodpoints and emblem for distraction because getting face camped by a LF especially is a lose lose to every survivor

Most of us don't say don't get caught seriously, we say it because majority of survivors say "play better" to excuse how lop sided the balance in the game is.

Yes there are some things killers can do to ATTEMPT to mitigate the balance issues but they are very tiny things that when playing amount to basically nothing against any competent team.

"Pressure the gens" - you can only be at one generator at any given time, thats the potential for AT LEAST 3 other survivors to be on other gens. That's not even counting any time wasted trying to find a survivor at the gen (assuming it has some work done in it) and the bigger the map the less you can pressure gens

"Learn how to chase and mind game" - there is no mind gaming god loops you either waste time on the god loop or you abandon chase and contrary to popular survivor belief abandoning chase is NOT counter play.

"Don't tunnel to avoid DS" - do you know how many times DS has come back to bite killers even when they DIDNT tunnel? Hell it's saved me numerous times against non tunneling killers

That's not even counting the fact that it literally has no counter play.

So when we say don't get caught it's more fecicious than it is serious. The game is designed for you to eventually get caught you might waste half the entire or more game time in a chase doing it but you'll get caught . But god loops require no skill and shack and t and l walls combos only require a slight bIt of skill. a survivors skill really only comes in with how well they manage semi safe and unsafe loops.
