I'll tell you as if you were playing builds for the regression of generators, you'd notice what's good and what's not currently, most of the builds I use are those that have either to defend trigen or no one hit, hence for me this change in pain resonance is negative but ok in my builds that i used it was usually worth taking pain because of the possibility of using it up to 12 times now for my builds it is a bit useless
Pain resonance is not 3-gen perk anymore. That's true. You can still camp, but camping is way worse than used to be anyway...
I would say that's a good thing. Pain resonance also encourages hooking different survivors (not tunneling), which is also great. I consider it currently one of best designed perks.
It's not a bad perk, just because it doesn't work with your specific build anymore.

Is there anyway to code, that if a killer is within "said" radius of a hooked survivor, the killers speed and perks will be nerfed? If they are let's say, 10m of a hook for 5 seconds they become powerless and movement slowed? Just a thought .
Increase time limit and make it doesn't work if killer is in chase.
Multilayer maps would be massive issue for this tho.
There is also not really reason for movement speed slow, it just makes it harder to leave hook, so it doesn't make sense.

i don't like custom emotes they turn this game into fortnite/ mobile game doesn't fit the horror element at all
the rest i agree with.
It doesn't have to be dances, but I think lot of players would like to see alternatives to current emotes.
Like waving, thumbs up etc. Just simple actions.

Ruin should not be an hex perk at this point. If it already has a deactivation condition, I don't know why survivors still have the option to deactivate it by themselves even before it can have any value. Either maintain it as an hex perk and remove the other condition, or vice versa.
And PR is a good perk when RNGesus smiles at you. If you are at the game and all scourge hooks spawn in the same corner of the map in both floors, it's an awful perk. But that's more an "Scourge Hook" problem than a PR problem, so it would be nice if BHVR somewhat revised the SH spawning.
Sadly, I think pop ruin meta was best state of the game, but they are just shadows of past now.
That was time where there was least camping/tunneling at least, because you simply needed to leave hook for them to be effective.
Ruin should have either get % nerfed (but not really to 100), or that save mechanic. Looking for ruin currently waste more time, then just ignoring it...

As for some perks, I agree but I give my suggestion for the upgrade of these perks so that people don't have any more sense for digging generators because currently the only perks for me are ok it's a shock perk from a clown that after a survivor we have the option of undoing the regress and nemesis eruption and plague hook pain resonance but it hurts a lot and now this perk only has 4 uses and the ruin could be well optimized if I remember correctly hag came out on 8 December 2016. and then this perk had much other application than the current one, it might be worth returning to this application
Old pain resonance was simply too good.
Best slowdown perk and information perk in one. You don't really want to have multiple strong effects in one perk (looking at MFT). That's simply too strong compare to other perks.
Scourge hooks can screw you, but if you want early slowdown then pain resonance is great perk. Pop can carry you later and works with Nowhere to hide/Eruption, so that's good alternative.
But if you want to ignore gens (kicking) then pain resonance along with Jolt/Corrupt is way to go. Deadlock can work too for this, but it has bad synergy with pain resonance, so that's one or the other.
-
Pain resonance is fine, that's still really good perk.
Ruin could just get increased regression. Removal on dying is not so bad, because it gives survivors a chance if they didn't manage to find it, but that's on them most of the times.
Ruin was over-nerfed for sure.

and why wound the killer not have fun
-weak
-low skill ceiling
Most fun killer is currently Wesker (for many players) for quite simple reasons:
-strong killer with his passive slowdown and movement speed ability
-low skill floor
-high skill ceiling
He is simply perfect killer for players to spend their time on, because it's fun and rewarding.

Lol

Why not just increase claw trap battery, that would help her chasing and deny power for 3-gen.
Just cooldown that works even if you down someone seems kinda punishing for wrong reasons.
At least ignore it on downing survivors, you basically pick that drone by hand, no need for it to return.
If battery runs out then sure.

-
Yeah, I can't even take this seriously.
Sadly I am not allowed to say my honest opinion about this post and this forum...
-
So one useless perk, one mixed enduring with lightborn, one broken perk.
Killer would be still M1, so my estimate would be Sadako without condemn, so quite bad.
Broken is kinda pointless on killer with low lethality. It's not dangerous to stay injured.
It would be definitely fun for survivors, but definitely not fun killer, or good...
-
little bit late for this kind of post...
I mean, it would work, if you buff all boons a lot, but that would be quite bad for killers without high movement speed.
-
@CrimsonMothKing said:
Try RB with Singularity, Dredge or SM. Singularity with Family Photo has insane catch up potential. The +5% haste applies to Dredge while he is charging his Remnant. And SM is just good at stacking movement speed.
I agree that some killers would prefer Bloodlust over +5% haste, but it can be really good on some killers.
It's terrible with SM.
She needs Bloodlust...

If you remove DC penalty, then you would have to remove it for everyone (killers and survivors).
Bots are super boring to play against and still not 100% teammates. So whenever there is 1/2 DCs, unless killer is doing challenge, they would leave.
Amount of DCs would increase massively, DBD is game where side with better resources is going to win (most likely). So when other side notice, it's DC...
Bots are not there so people can leave whenever something goes wrong for them.

Where did I say I want to see them? I couldn't care less about it.
You want to hide them? Sure, let's hide it for everyone, so it can't create any issues in future.
You are the one, who wants to see other's prestige levels, not me...

I would allow players to have settings:
- show/hide prestige for killer/all.
- See/hide prestige of others.
I would use both, to hide my prestige from both, and to not see any surv prestige.
I would be fine with settings, that was mainly if it was supposed to be permanent status. Settings allow for everyone to do whatever they want, which is fair.
-
I don't care about prestiges, I just don't like hypocrites.
If you want to hide prestiges, then sure, but let's hide it for everyone.

killers can identify survivors based on their load out, cosmetics, characters. it's not that hard. high prestige doesn't necessarily mean it's a very good survivor, it only tells you that this player have spent some time playing the game. gives you an idea about the player. from a killer perspective you can tell from just seeing the cosmetics, etc.
and before you say survivors can also identify their teammates based on what i mentioned. yeah true but the main thing we are talking about here is killer. killers behavior towards the high prestige player is the main issue here and its what make people want their prestige to be hidden from killers so they can be treated equally right.
How is killers dodging lobbies against high prestige bigger issue than survivors dodging with low prestige survivors?
Low prestige survivors should not be treated equally?

lol you can't be serious. even if survivors do that it would make sense because a high mmr survivor don't want to be in a match with new players. it helps the match making actually
So doesn't it make sense when low MMR killers don't want to play with high prestige survivors? It helps a matchmaking, right?
So don't be a hypocrite....
-
It's simple,
you can win most of your games with basically any killer.
But some simply has it easier. I highly doubt anyone can argue about it.
You have killers that struggle overall or against current meta. You need to compensate with perks/playstyle/skill for those.
Wesker is fun, good and not that difficult to play with high skill ceiling.
Nurse and Blight are simply best killers in the game.
Skully gives you an option to make survivors suffer. That's welcomed option for some players...

I think most of the comp players have around 10 k hours and there is also that rule of thumb that it takes around 10k hours to master something?
Sure, but they don't play only public games.
At some point you simply need to play with best players possible, if you want to improve. Either KYF or 1v1 matches.
There is limit how far you can get simply by public games and it's even worse for soloQ only.

you'll get there don't worry ,,takes a bit of patience and luck but it's way easier after they changed the adept condition from being double pip to 4k
Not really, double pip make it way easier with grade resets.
It was hell to do old adepts in red ranks tho.
-
There is only few killers that can use it properly and you need STBFL with it.
On most killers it's useless or just asking for bad experience.
-
Bots are not supposed to be full replacement, so you can leave whenever you get downed...
First of all, if you remove DC penalty for survivors, you will have to do it for killers too.
It would get out of hand really fast.
It's also really boring to play against them.
-
I guess you need to bring turrets with you :D
-
So I would use perk from top20 instead, suddenly they are better than top10... That will get them into top10 and suddenly you have a time to play actually meta perks with one extra. This would just screw statistics on perk usage.
It would be way better for survivors tho.
-
Just make it so only downed survivor gets endurance.
When both of them have endurance, there is basically nothing you can do about it. If one can be downed, then you can play around it.

Then what you are asking for is baseline game changes not just for killer but for survivor too.
survivors already have this to some extent.
You are told when you get affected by a hex perk and what hex it is, some don't even make sense, for example Undying, where effect is aura reading.
I really wouldn't care if it is implement for more effects on both sides. There is still more and more perks and some perks have similar effect, but different triggers.
I don't think aura reading should be displayed, it loses most of it's value.
For killer effects:
- instadown (exposed)
- survivor movement speed slow
- survivor screaming
- survivor gen speed slow
For survivor effects:
- movement speed boost (used in chase)
- endurance effect (on hit)
- unbreakable effect triggered
Then you have basically same as now, where you have short popup on right screen with perk icon and name.
-
It would also have to be this gets unlocked only when:
2 survivors left
1 in dying state
1 injured/healthy
(Both downed = no unbreakable)
So you don't get situation where Oni/Plague etc snowball, get 3/4 survivors down, but when two survivors die, other two will instantly pick themselves and just make game even longer.
-
Sure, but get rid of all challenges for 4k and change adept achievement.

I didn't get 61%, BHVR recorded an average of a 61% kill rate and released it for all of us to see. People keep saying "It doesn't matter they released it too long ago". But it's literally the last data they gave us on kill rates.
I am not jumping between topics I am simply responding to the criticism of the killer mains in this thread.
Nightlight is one person. 61% kill rate is literally every single game ever played for the time period that they recorded it for it. We are talking about the difference between hundreds of thousands of recorded games versus 1000. We should be getting new BHVR statistics in September, if they don't chicken out, because they are going to look very ugly. So if they don't release stats know that it's because the kill rate is much worse than I have typed out here.
The problem is, the average player is not a SWF or a top tier nurse player. They are a soloQ survivors who lose nearly 3 out of 4 games. I play plenty of killer, I have reached Iri 1 multiple times. I have adept on a vast majority of the killers. There are changes I would love to make to both sides.
HUD changes for killer not only seems like a complete waste of time, it seems either entirely useless or completely broken. Depending on which information you decide to give the killer. There is a reason they don't let you see hook stages, they don't want to encourage tunneling anymore than it already is.
Well, hook stages wouldn't encourage tunneling in first place. It doesn't make any sense why it should. If I want to tunnel, I know who to chase. It would make it easier for players to go for 8 hooks instead, which is good thing.
Main HUD change I want to see is simply perk feedback.
Survivor didn't got down with Endurance effect? Tell ke what perk did it
Survivor is faster than should be in chase? Tell ke what perk did it
That really wouldn't increase kill rates.
Nightlight is a person, but also a website.... Everyone can upload their game data there, it's most correct data we have and it says kill rate is nowhere near as high.
-
@Biscuits said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3526204#Comment_3526204
Yeah and did you see how how he did it? He played for hatch more than half the time. So for most games he didn't even attempt to "win".
You choosing to play a weak killer with weak perks doesn't change the fact that you have the ability to win 3/4s of the time. What do you think the kill rate of a juiced blight or nurse is at the top end? Probably in the 80s or 90s. I don't have a problem with weak killers getting buffed or unused perks getting buffed. I have a problem with people asking for BLANKET killer buffs when there are killers capable of winning 90% of the time.
Nightlight regularly plays against 4 man squads, his data if anything should represent only what you can do as a top tier killer against top tier survivors. If he played against the average solo lobby he would 4k nearly every single lobby.
I said play 10 games, 10 games is all it would take to see that survivor is not easy right now. I play killer for challenges and rituals, so pretty often. I played an endgame doctor build last week, so I had no perks before generators were completed. Well I 4kd them before they even finished the gens. I 4kd on doctor with zero perks. A killer who is considered B tier. The game has literally never been easier on killers. Whenever a challenge calls for me to sacrifice 4 players in one lobby I load up my bubba camp build and complete it on try 1.
It's funny how you keep jumping between topics.
You said average kill rate is over 60%. How did you get that number? Not difficult question.
Nightlight website are not his games, everyone can upload their results. It's basically replacement for dev's data... So it's best statistic we currently have.
Top tier Nurse will have near 100% win rate, we know that from SupaAlf, top tier SWF will also get near 100% win rate. So what's the problem? Both sides have nuclear options, but you want to gatekeep only one side, which is the side you don't play....
-

Everyones homework in this thread is to play 10 games of solo survivor. I am not asking you to "trust me bro" the 61% killrate came directly from behavior. You have the same problem as the last dude, you don't read.
Oh right, because that's how statistics work...
Ayrun got to grade 1 as soloQ in hardcore series, so I guess it's not that bad if you are good player.
From all kill rates data by BHVR I remember, there were usually only 1/2 killers on 6O% kill rates and they were usually new killers where survivors didn't know how to handle them. Rest was going all the way to 50%, sometimes lower.
So you basically cherrypick data that fits your narrative...
Nightlight shows data from last month, which is currently 25,392 games. That highly beats your 10 games in validity.

You can't leave the killrates out. I am losing you because you know I am right. You can't give the killers more info without them becoming stronger. Every single one of you also keeps ignoring the silmple fact of why they added the survivor HUD in the first place. Killers don't have teammates, why would they get a HUD lol.
They added it for soloQ. So players have more information.
There is no reason for killers to not have any info.
Survivors are told when they are affected by hex perk.
Why not show killer when exact perk it was when they get affected by it? So they can play around it next time.
-
Lol, just don't cleanse and you are fine...
Even more than before with MFT.
-
Could they make it anything but this?
Go play Knight, if you want to suffer with unreliable AI system....
-
It took them like 2 years for CoH, right?
So I would guess around same time...
This is basically same situation as we had with Object of Obsession. Data said it's fine, killer experience was saying something completely different.

My survivor queues have been way longer than my killer queues, ever since the survivor HUD was released, regardless of what day or time it is.
Before the survivor HUD, I used to have quick survivor queues during the day…. but that was a long time ago. BHVR has clearly made the survivor experience feel way better than the killer experience, at least for whatever MMR range I’m in.
it got balanced for like two months after healing nerf, but here we are again...

legion has natural synergy with blood echo. tataru puts fearmonger on him as well. he has easy time countering MFT if he wants to.
So most likely losing slowdown perk/chase for quite a bad perk (blood echo), which will lose you some games in exchange, that's so effective.... You are still worse overall, you manage to get a game (sometimes when perk works) to previous situation, but with a perk less.
I like fearmonger only on Knight from M1 killers. Otherwise you just buff SB and make it easy to use, which can hurt you a lot as Legion.
Fearmonger is 5 seconds, it's really not hard to lose it during a chase anyway on checkspots.
-
@thisislastyearsmodel said:
Some of them are okay. Wraith and Legion are massively underrated by a lot of people — especially Wraith now that he's been buffed to have the nice speed boost after uncloaking.
Trapper, Myers, Clown, Pig, and Freddy are the five I'd very comfortably say are the weakest killers, and probably in the same order as I listed them (Trapper being the worst, Freddy or Pig being the best of the worst) but the devs seem to be in no hurry to dish out any buffs to any of them. If they're saying they're fine with Trapper and how he's performing, I have no hope for the rest of them.
Wraith is very good, lot of possible builds and not affected much by MFT. Most survivors don't know how to counter him luckily.
Legion got worse with MFT. It basically makes his counter play way easier and more likely to happen.

I have also complained about the body blocking in a corner situation and people called me exagerated and that it's part of the game still, and doesn't happen often enough to make a fix to it (which could be something as simple as removing colision once the survivor gets crows.)
If you want to make it from the killer POV, I bet you don't want to get into a cycle of facing survivors that get inmersed in a map big enough for them to just hide and you have to play hide and seek for an hour, right? It's the exact same situation, but just doesn't happen that often so people don't complain about it as much. But if now it becomes trendy just because somebody makes it popular because a video gets clout like the Skull Merchant one, get ready to face those teams (or even solos) just wanting to play hide and seek every other game.
Making peace with being able to make games take up to an hour is insane to me. Because the reasoning behind most players that play this style is that they don't want to win via the intended way, they want the server to close and all survivors die if that happens, and they also said that they want to make survivors annoyed and feel miserable by wasting their time.
Will see what the anti-3 gen update they're making will bring, because if it doesn't solve the problem from the root this same scenario will happen with a future release of a killer that has some kind of power to do the same she does.
I am not saying it's not an issue. Both sides making game way longer (hiding or protecting 3-gen from start). That's why I said I would be happy for give up button.
I just don't like incorrect using of terms. Same for gen rush/tunneling/camping. It's overused and it didn't really happen in most cases.
3-gen is not a bad thing unless killer goes for it from start of the game as a main plan.
It's same for tunneling, or camping.
I can say same for survivors. Game will be really bad (for killer) when you have group of 4 x headon build, refuse to work on gens and just try to get most stuns possible.
Or having gen speed perks and trying to end game under 5 minutes.
Or trying to play hide and seek from start until you get bored....
On small scales those things are valid and have a place in specific situations. It becomes an issue when players make it main and only thing for whole game.

Elaborate please.
You are being hostage if only way to get out of the game is disconnect.
So typically it's either cheater or last survivor got trapped in corner. If there are two or more survivors, you can't be held hostage (other survivors can finish gens or you die to EGC).
Alternative would be when killer is cooperative with other survivors to trap you, but that's super rare.
If you can give up (die) during that game, it's not hostage situation. Both sides simply refuse to lose.
She doesn't want to kill you? Well, then you can work on gen and ignore her drones....
Best way to deal with this is actually stay injured, ignore drones and try to force gens (prerun when she gets nearby). Either you manage to break it, or die trying, but it definitely won't be hour long game.
-
People still didn't learn what holding the game hostage means?
