Devour Hope already does something similar. While it could be an 'incentive' to not camp, if a Killer wants to tunnel/camp, that's exactly what they will do.
Yeah, but it doesn't change the fact there is currently no incentive at all. If you want to lower tunneling, give players a reason not to.
Currently only perk that does it is Pain resonance, which was great rework imo. It is basically trying to bring back BBQ effect, we need more perks like it and some basekit mechanic like this post would help.
-
Are you ready to take 180 seconds gen nerf with it? Otherwise I have no idea what do you expect to happen...
-
I consider it same as it always been.
1) SWF, Blight, Nurse
2) mixed group survivor, most killers
3) soloQ, Trapper, Myers etc
This changes with add-ons, perks, items, offerings.
DBD was always about side that brings more resources, is more likely to win. It's not as nuclear as it used to be with Moris, keys etc, but still...
-
Is Godzilla alright? This had to be tough on him..
-
Since when is Ghostface weaker half? He got more buffs than rest of those combined....
Pig needs way more
Claw, Legion sure
I would like to see that for Freddy
-
Yeah, I had that several times.
I don't really care if I play survivor or killer, but those situations where it's 50% or less, I just feel like it's not worth my time...
I would make it 100% pool, so when it's equal, both sides have 50% instead of 0... that would be good start

Agreed. But so is saloon (with it's 3gen), Midwitch (size and quality of pallets), pale rose (after rework this one has barely any pallets and is quite small for it), etc. Yet it's only survivor-favoring maps (or neutral like Rancid) that gets rework in favor of killers.
Midwitch is ultimate hold W map, it's not really overall killer sided. Most M1 killers are not happy about it, but there is few killers that you really don't want to see...
Most of my best chases were on Midwitch, because it's just easy with those windows.
I don't mind Saloon overall, but 3-gen should be fixed there for sure.
Well, survivors get basekit features, so killers get map reworks... that's basically only thing they can change to work for all killers.
-
If you make her 115%, then it might work... but I highly doubt you would want to do that...

it took some time to ramp up. Give it also some time
It's just funny to me, how you are going against your previous arguments.
With MFT you used lower pick rate as a proof it's not OP perk, but suddenly time is needed and paywall is an issue...
aura reveal > screaming
simple as that

it's behind paywall. Give it time. UW is by far much better.
Also I don't get how you could have problem finding survivor. He either runs so you can track scratch marks or he doesn't and he must be very close to scream location. And I experienced it from both sides. This is just always the case.
Aura reveal will always be better as an effect, because you get option to sneak up on survivors and it's more precise and longer duration. UW basically gives information to both sides. It also doesn't work on stealth killers.
From MFT we can see paywall is not an issue.

I still think MfT is not that good - hence I never use it. It looks like my view on the thing is unique so let's leave it at that.
As for darkness revealed and balanced landing - I consider both perks very fine. Been using both of them and I consider both of them strong (actually when playing survivor BL is my go-to exhaustion should I decide to drop background player for less altruistic play). I think sprint/lither/nowhere to hide are really strong perks that are just fine the way they are. They don't need nerf, but are on a higher-end spectrum.
But UW from my point of view just does too much and not counting some specific cases (like nurse/huntress that actually benefit greatly from wallhacks instead of just finding survivors reliably, or killers that don't really have TR like ghostface/meyers/freddy). It's like why would I take any other tracking perk when UW exists? It's lethal pursuer for short time investment + perma location to all survivors that can't be blocked with meta-blocking perk for same perk slot investment. And that does not even factor in blindness status effect.
Blindness is just annoying part, it's random effect. That effect alone is just bad, no perk with blindness without other effects is considered even remotely good.
Blindness simply has to have other effect. It's useless otherwise.
What survivor even use more than 2 aura readings perks? Usually it's WoO, but with its usage %, it deserves to have a counter, so I wouldn't worry about that.
Only issue with UW is how you can move with it until you find all survivors, that makes it broken on few killers, but that can be nerfed without affecting most killers. You can make it UW disables after 5 seconds since first scream or something, then it's fine.
Locker bug is already fixed on PTB.

There's nothing wrong with good perk that counters the other side. There however is a problem if such a perk is good even without the counter. Take distortion. All it does is counter killer's aura perks/addons and that's it. If killer does not have any aura perk, then the perk is absolutely useless. Similarly calm spirit - if killer does not have any ability to make you scream, you just wasted perk slot (for malus that makes no sense on the perk BTW). If killer takes shattered hope (sure enough, this one was weak even in boon era is it wasn't true counter, but that's for a different debate) and no survivor takes any boon, then that's a wasted perk slot.
And now if killer take UW and all 4 survivors have no aura reading perks of any kind, then killer still gets probably THE best tracking perk in the game. Do you see the problem here?
To be constructive... It would make sense to be strong counter perk (even keeping all the effects it currently has if survivor-to-enter-killer's-TR have ANY aura reading perk), or make it reasonable tracking perk (remove blindness effect altogether and nerf it so that other strong aura perks make sense - say darkness revealed or nowhere to hide to not be 100% outshined by UW)
I would say nowhere to hide is on similar level to UW. It's really good perk.
Darkness revealed is not that good, so I definitely wouldn't balance around it. That's like nerfing exhaustion perks to Balance landing level. It just doesn't make sense.
Maybe buff some perks instead, for example Thwack doesn't need hooking requirement at all. That's way better perk to compare with UW.
You have issue with perk to have multiple effects? If I remember correctly you were defending MFT... just saying
-
I don't think it should move with killer, or reduce duration after first scream.
Fact that you keep it makes kinda broken on few killers. Probably most on Oni.
But it's first good killer perk in a long time and it's info perk, so I wouldn't be hard on it.
So what it counters some survivor perks? Survivors have perks to counter killer perks/powers. That's how it's suppose to be...
I will much rather get new slowdown perk, or make finally some good perk to apply exhaustion on survivors...

Sure, but if you just make it so that you can resume control from the bot then who cares how quickly it fires? The reason I suggested 10 seconds is because going that long without a team mate can sometimes destroy your chance of winning.
Yeah, but I can imagine situation where I simply stand in checkspot waiting what killer is going to do and I would get really angry if bot started to run out of position.
Btw idle crows start at 60 seconds. I would just replace crows with bot.

How? The shack/main is right on top. A hook in a corner dead zone is what you want in that case, especially if there is also a choking point formed by a hill for example.
It's possible to bodyblock long enough for endurance to run out...
I bet most survivors will be trigger happy and self unhook as soon they can. Especially if you will wait upstairs where they won't see you.

It won't be good camping spot, but it will be best tunneling spot...

It's about how other people react to your prestige level rather than whether you want to show it off.
For example, if this setting were a thing, and you see someone with their prestige hidden, what would you do? Assume they're a P100 and dodge, or troll, bully, or tunnel them out?
there are two options, it's either too low or too high.
I couldn't care less, because I would turn it off for everyone...
-
@Shocke said:
it shouldnt be a setting, it should be equal to everybody in my opinion or it wouldnt be fair. I think the best thing would be as i wrote in the title to hide in the lobby the survs prestige level to the killer and to show the prestige level of the other teammates to survs. RN its already that survs cant see the killer prestige level. It would be fair to have the same thing so the killer cant see the survs prestige level.
so permanent settings is supposed to be more fair than letting everyone do what they want? Yeah, that makes sense...
-
refund for what? just spending BP to get items and addons?
They could simply make it settings...
Display:
-show to all
-hide for all
-hide for killer
Overall setting:
-see / hide prestige of others

It's a bug/exploit that has existed in the game for 3 years . It is baffling when you think about it. The devs have known about it and have still not fixed it.

Not only. It was a combination of perks and addons together with high mobility and an unfun power.
Mainly the same problem with SM too.
Perks were not touched, add-ons removed, power basically same just gutted (doesn't really make it fun).
That rework was just trash, same as SM rework.
They stacked multiple nerfs in single patch and didn't go back for years... that's just bad approach

I mean with the change you came up with.
If you have a 5m zone around gens where no drone can be... Yeah good luck in putting them up for chase on a 2 floor map where the Gen on the other level would block you using a drone.
I appreciate that you play SM chase oriented and I also know very well how it is like to have a favourite killer gutted, but the majority of the player base played her like a game of chess, so it had to go.
BTW said killer was Freddy for me. I am talking about the Forever Freddy time. I never played like this and they still nerfed him because 90% of the people did this. I had to deal with it too. And yes I'm happy they did it, even though I had to wait years to have another Main.
Forever Freddy was only addon issue. He was over-nerfed hard and that should never repeat again...
Same as Billy...

Annectotal evidence, I know, but the last 5 SM I faced were all doing 3-gen from the start, with the usual stacked gen regression perks (and sloppy) and matching addons (no skill warning and oblivious mostly). One even send us to midwich to have an even easier game. So where-ever these mythical chase oriented SM were, I did not see one.
On the other side of the coin, when I played SM, I would usually play chase-oriented as well, but even then survivors Dc'ed imidiately when they knew they were against a SM, not even evaluating whether I'd go 3-gen or not. The survs were / are just fed-up with that 3-gen playstyle. And even if it isn't 90%, but something more like 50%, the 3-gen SM players are the ones repsonsible for this situation and should be blamed for this (failed) rework.
No, devs are to be blamed for first version of skull merchant and failed rework. Not players, they just used what was available to them.
-
Thwack had potencial to be such a good perk and they screwed it so hard.
It should have been completely reversed. Ultimate Weapon requiring hooking survivors. Thwack already require damaging limited resources...
-
Should just limit duration (5 seconds or something like that) after first scream.
That would fix ultimate snowballs.

We never had more than 3 killers on/above 60% and rest went usually all the way to 50% or below.

Oni's game usually ended with first use of his power. Snowball potencial is insane with this perk for Oni.

We'll see once the PTB drops. Also both Plague and Artist can be very strong killers, so that doesn't sound too bad to me.
"Just worse" is quite important part.
Her rework is missing either part that makes those two strong.
I can imagine her being strong on indoor maps, but she will be really bad on open maps.
From what I get, she lost movement speed bonus, which is kinda big deal imo.

Let’s imagine that BHVR can dedicate 100 manpower points per major update. A basic number tweak would consume, say, 5 manpower points. An entire rework would consume, say, 20 manpower points.
There are many things to change, but there are only 100 manpower points. With that in mind, basic number tweaks are likely all they can do for now. Are you forgetting that Skull Merchant and Borgo are getting reworks? That’s a ton of manpower points.
There are perks that can be saved with just number changes, why not focus on those instead?
Some perks are simply beyond saving and even your 5 manpower is wasted on it.

Maybe just wait out the PTB first, play it, try out the new mechanics, and then give constructive criticism? IDK just an idea 🤷
I for one, love that she is becoming more chase-based from the sounds of it. Considering that is the most fun aspect of the game and not staring at gens repeatedly. Unless they put a picture of Michael on the gens, then I wouldn't mind the staring.
Seems like mix of Artist/Plague so far.

I am not saying that SWF isn't a problem, that's another issue that we don't need to bring into this topic. When you get lobby of 20 000 hours combined that's what happens.
Of course i am not happy about losing to player who has 25x less hours then me.
That doesn't really matter, there is a skill ceiling.
After X amount of hours there is very little progress, at least in public games when we talk about DBD.

That's not the case.
Dude i am winning 95% matches with those people with 1 or 2 hooks in total most of the time.
Nurse's mechanic is just wrong for that game. No killer should be able to go through walls and easily down people
So we can also talk about how you winning 95% with 1-2 hooks is an issue.
You win that much and you dare to complain there is a killer that can match you? If you nerf only killer that can beat you, you better come up with nerfs for SWF too.
-
@[Deleted User] said:

Show us gameplay, maybe you just didn't progress much with those hours.
If those killers are one trick poneys, then 300 hours is enough to get good on single killer.

That's not what I asked for, but nice try.

I highly doubt they can get anywhere near close those results.
Survivors can do it regularly.

I would really appreciate that that game won't end in 3 minutes while you are playing as survivor. But who cares...
Bots are really boring to play against, you simply can't mind game them.
You have to brute force everything, just follow them until window gets blocked or you catch up with bloodlust.

i take nightlight stats w a grain of salt last i heard its not a good indicator of current stats because half the games aren't even entered in, correct me if im wrong maybe its changed since , from my knowledge, the game was currently sitting at 60% kill rate across the board which to my understanding is where bhvr wanted the game
from my knowledge
where did you get that knowledge from?
there is few killers around 60%, but definetly not all killers.
Nightlight is not perfect, but it's best we have. There is not really reason why rest of community would have completely different results than what gets submitted to nighlight. Would it be different? Yes, but probably just 1-3% changes.
-
I don't mind Tombstone as an add-on, if you have some time on DBD (against Myers) you can tell it's tombstone and just go into locker / vault / work on gen to deny the Mori.
Tombstone piece is different story, but I will gladly remove it as trade for base-kit buffs.

You seriously want to tell me you don't recognise the figure of speech? Or are you fully aware it is a figure of speech and just chose to take it literally? Well, either way. If you take it literally, then, indeed, every game in which any survivor escapes by any means would counter the argument that escaping is "impossible". If that's the point you want to make: fair enough, you're absolutely correct.
As for the pointing you to where I take the notion of representativeness from: "We" are not breaking records. There was one instance in which a record was broken. The inclusive we, however, suggests at least some degree of representativeness.
He could use "we" as a community. It doesn't have to be "we" as a team, which would be way cooler tho...
I don't really get what you are defending tho. OP said:
even 4 good players on comms easily lose to the killer. It’s insane
Just, really? There has to be different meaning for good, or idk.
If he tried to argue for soloQ buffs, I always supported that (unless it would buff SWF too), so selective... but SWF? I really want to see gameplay of those "good" players. I wish DBD would have proper records, where you can find games just by ID like Dota...
