The Daily Ritual "Relic Veneration" requires that a survivor acquires a new item during the course of a trial. While the main method for doing this is escaping via door or hatch with the item in tow I have a hypothesis. If a survivor uses a White Ward offering, will they still complete the ritual through death? Unless the killer brought Franklin's Demise you will keep your item upon death. This makes sense, doesn't it?

Makes no sense, new item and escape, must have escaped and have an item you didnt bring into the trial. If you don't get escape points, can't get the points.
  • PigNRun said:
It wouldn't work, you would be wasting the offering. White Wards protect the item you brought into the match, not the one gained during it.

Plus, I believe the check for these "escape under x conditions" is while you escape. So, if you dont escape, you wont trigger the achievement.
It protects any item in trial from being lost due to player death
  • I usually get all survivors or 3/4 with her still,I just HATE her new sounds. She needs a somber, low, cry of some sort.

New killer effect, survivors haven't learned yet, give it a week or two.

It's going to be mid-chapter yes.

I don't have all the list of fixes in front of me but the Blood appearing while charging and a shorter cooldown for her Power is also planned. I know I just teasing sorry about that but more details will be coming soon, please hold on...Thanks!

I'll hold patiently... but I been really looking forward to this killer, since there aren't a whole bunch of options to bring that scare you out of your seat type vibe to the game outside of like Pig, and Michael, and occasionally Hag. I love her concept and the execution of her aesthetics, including her creepy gargling and twitching, but she really needs some tweaks to get her to fit within her own niche. I can see where she was going design wise, and the husk manipulation (even on vaulting windows which has its own creep factor by itself) I see where the potential is in making people ######### themselves as a horrifying ghost just pops into their face.

But like any horror film, the best fear is stoked in tension, and if the audience knows its coming....they don't scream....they don't even shudder. My audience are the survivors I play against, and if I can't put on an exciting show... the game feels...bad... if they're bored, I'm bored too... nobody even has to die as long as the experience up to the point of the exit gates was enough to pan the vast array of emotion from safe and tranquil all the way up to full blown panic and doubt as they just barely escape by an inch of their life.....to where gg means something besides

"gg see ya later match is over"

    to

"GG that ######### was epic, I can't believe I got out of that alive and my friends distraction actually worked, I just narrowly hit dead hard at just the right time, holy hell that was epic!"

    Forgettable experience, vs memorable ones.

Good one, strong killers also create fear. Give spirit some dev roids.

its not about waiting its about how u sprint and still slow vault no need to b rude @PigNRun

Yea there are some instances where you are running straight at a window and still slow vault. It's very frustrating. A window on Chapel does this to me all the time.

I also think that a perk like DWM or Q&Q should allow you to always fast vault when it procs.

Sometimes if you don't run straight for half to a full second into the vault it will be slow. You can't turn into the vault or approach without being completely straight. It gets me at times.
  • Peasant said:

@Slimette The phrase "Slow Vault" is a bit vague, are you by chance referring to slow window vaults or pallet vaults. For some reason the mechanics for vaulting each of these objects is different so once again, what are you talking about?

The only time one will complain is windows since you choose to pallet vault slow.

They are all to situational and in most cases need other extra perks to even work at all.

Perks strong in combos, not all perks are to be standalone.

Hex haunted ground, ruin, thrill of the hunt gets her some free pulls.

It doesn't, but I've managed to confuse the ######### out of several survivors by standing still and insidious activates, they then think I'm the husk, completely forgetting all mechanics and walking up to me to get hit.

Its a trick that'll only last so long, but It'll be nice while it does last.... as insidious gets like... 0 play most of the time.

Lol unless you count the 2 freddies who use insidious in chase. Word nice little note.

    He's still trash.

    Your point ?

Learn the killer to use her power correctly.
And i know, some have problems others dont, but i hate people who say "is trash". No its not, its difficult to play as a killer sometimes.
And i dont say that freddy or spirit doesnt need buffs (freddy even needs a rework). I want to say: Dont say a killer is trash. Use correct words.
I hate people for using words as "trash" and thinks like that.

Freddy needs qol changes, not rework. People get constant 4ks with the right builds already, just loses to much and needs some power buffs. Not quick sleep but stopping certain actions in dream transition and stuff.

Thank you, I've been saying this for awhile and she's not for everyone due to her limitations but Like Freddy she can be really good. I think her channel power should be 15 seconds base but make it so that her cdr can't take it below say 12 to keep it balanced.

Also changing her voice along with some of the other sounds would be good too, especially so she doesn't sound like the hatch.

Actually, why do survivors hear me phase walking? They can hear WHERE i am when im in Phase. Thats... BS actually.

Well think Wraith, they know you're close but not where unlike Wraith where they can see n outline aka predator.

I gottq make sure it's not directional, and spine chill works on phase walk. She can't see the survivor so not telling the direction isn't good for her since she can't see them when they are just walking around.
  • Spirit weak?

That was the second game i did with her.

Survivors are learning how to play her, new killers have high kill rates at release. Freddy haf high 4man counts and dc. But look where he's at now. New killers have a fresh kill rate and a honeymoon is over kill rate. Also, just because you have that doesn't mean it is consistent, had games like that where survivors bumrushed a hook and made a lot of dumb mistakes.
  • Stridor? Didn't try that on her yet, will try it
  • Ghost lady, and insidious. Thats all I'm gonna say.....

  • @Janick said:
within 24M of her Husk, it is not.

So whats the point of her power then outside of 24 meters? Whats the point of making her invisible and unable to see anyone when you can hear her coming from a mile away?

Big one...what is the point of making her invisible if you're just going to have a gigantically loud sound give you away at all times anyway? Whats the point of removing her terror radius during haunt if you're going to make this loud woosh sound when shes coming thats just as loud as a heartbeat... ITS LOUD! You can literally hear her in another room, behind a wall, and while you're in front of a gen. So its so loud you can hear her through a wall and a gen.....why? Why is this even a thing its like you're trolling stealth players.

So she's useless as a stealth killer because she's not really stealth in the slightest NOT EVEN A LITTLE BIT!
She's bad as a high mobility killer cause her power cooldown is too long, she's not billy or nurse or even hag, her mobility is terrible.
She's not a trap type character using non direct methods to deter survivors from objectives like trapper, hag, or even pig.
She's not a projectile thrower like huntress, clown.....
Shes not a 1 hit downer.

You lowered her terror radius to 24 meters.....which even if you added distressing that only puts her up to 30 meters terror radius which is lower than most killers.

So please can someone please tell us ######### she is for? What is her niche?

Why does it feel like she's trying to do everything but do everything poorly....

Interesting, I do agree if they made it so the radius hid the white noise lowering the radius was a nerf since the standard would allow more room for her power to to work as a stealth approach. The devs didnt do a ptb b like they did with the clown and it would've been cool to test some of the changes. The clown ptb was well done due to there being ptb a and ptb to test patches. I hope the a and b comes back. They gave her a powerful but fear it, so a lot of counters. Survivors can still detect her with perks and audio meaning she's the first killer with a stealth power to be more easily tracked than she can track others combined with a lower movement speed and power start up time. A survivor who sees you charging could stop and walk. The only counter to her obvious counter is to pray for an ultra rare add on to see blood. The passive phasing is interesting but lower speed means more distance meaning the less impactful it is unless someone is unaware and lets you get in lunge range. The other 110 and lower speed killers have something for windows but she doesn't unless she mind games right but survivors seeing in third person has a sensory edge in any mindgame she has because her mindgames are about movement.

autodidact was great on the PTB but now they nerfed alot it takes along time to heal youre teammate so devs plz make Autodidact Great Again

They did it to prevent it from being another instaheal. That and spinechill makes it like an instaheal. Now, imagine 4 survivors with it. All perks must be made with the fact that survivors can run 4 of them, also unnerving increases chances and that is common so giving peeps instaheals.

well at least make a increase the chance of skillcheck

Once again, increased chances makes it an instaheal if kept at 80%. With increased chance from spine chill or unnerving, it occurs close 20% often, the 80% makes it quick. 3 second heals.
  • Let's test it, lemme know in a kyf of you can do one with someone
  • But @Janick WHY there need to be a sound? Example Exitgate switches: if i see a red light from far away, i could phasewalk to the gate (more then 24m) and grabble away the survivor. actually the survivors are already gone when i arrive there. they left the switch because they hear me coming. thats a mess!

So her power not strong in a chase because you just see the scratchmarks that NOT appear immediatley at survivors position.

so her power is also not stron to jumpscare ppl at gens/switches/chests because they hear her coming.

what is the power for? for fast traveling indeed. Actually the best usage of the power is to not use it. just let you juke inside shack, stand still (surv thik you are walking) and wait until surv is in range of the sword and hit him hard. thats the only thing what survivors really surprises.

why? thats my only quesion. why did you make her that outplayable? why this massiv counter mechanics? why are you not designing an invisible killer that is invisible to 100%? wraith is visible, freddy moves gras, and Rin sounds like a racing drone.

If her strength should be the surprise, she need to get to survivors without they realize it. like in the release trailer the new survivor didnt recognize her behind himself.

look, when can I make sure there is a suv working on a gen? Sounds are heard maybe around 10 meters of my position? so the survivor has already heartbeat because of terrorradius. he is already warned the killer is near. So WHY the survs get ANOTHER warning sound when i am coming around the corner?

and when i try to surprise a random gen (dont know exactly if someon is there) they dont got heartbeat of course, but they hear me phasewalking. so they know "hey listen, time to go, later Spirit :P " - that is really....cant find words for it.

In combination with the blindness of Rin, you popp up at gen, survs are gone and you can turn around first to check where they are running. but there is nothing to see but scratchmarks. they are gone already. far far away.

So tell me pls, or better show me/us how you Devs thought how to play the spirit effective, in high ranks or whatever. maybe we just dont understand how to play her, but the way we all want to play her, is nerfed/blocked already at release.

    Kind regards
    S0ckenSchuss

Bad survivors making new mistakes, no need to continue a loop needlessly or go to the spirit when you think she phase walks, just walk away from the loop and run on and off.
  • Getting randomly screwed over at the end of the game is a lame feeling. Previous obsession perks encouraged the killer to interact with the targeted survivor, but it was the killer's choice of how to play that determined what the experience would be like. The killer was free to tunnel you if they were running Dying Light, but it wasn't any easier for them to kill you. Conversely, if they were running Fire Up or STBFL there was an incentive not to kill you. If the player was punished for being the obsession, it wasn't because of the game itself. On the contrary the game gave the obsessed survivor bonuses when being the Obsession encouraged the killer to kill you faster (Remember Me, Dying Light).

This is the first perk to directly punish you for being the obsession. I would say it'd be better if the perk didn't make the killer have an obsession, so that it only punished those survivors who ran obsession perks i.e it punishes people who run DS. Then, at least, the obsessed survivor brought the pain on themselves and it makes sense to say they need to accept that making themselves the obsession has consequences.
he problem with that is the killer could nevertheless just run any other killer obsession perk and then the arbitrary 'lol get ****ed' element is still there even if there's some kind of tradeoff in limiting a killer's perk options. It's a problematic perk.

Not sure how it's problematic on anyone that isn't freddy, who doesn't need it due to class photo and black box. Looking at the perk in it's actual usuage, seeing how it is end game, it isn't good for anything but stbfl or maybe remember me. Goes nuetral with pwyf, if obsession dies not sure if you still get the reading, if not then you keep one person alive at least end game if it is an ok game. Also, it doesn't show auras like bitter murmor so it isn't reliable, it just shows the location survivors were when the generator popped, it doesn't give continued reading feed like bitter murmor.

I don't think he gets faster while cloaking. Oh and he has no such clapper.

This makes the sound global. Great for just annoying the crap out of survivors that pissed you off ^_^

Does that make it global though? Yes, you can't discern the distance, but I thought it was (without the clapper) getting quieter the more you were away from it. However, my first sentence still stands.
Only way to make the distance ambiguous it has to be global. Anything that isn't unlimited in range is quieter the further you are until you can't hear it.
  • Sorry @DaedraLord , I think you're absolutely wrong there. HIDE, when exit gates are powered. Killer has very limited tools to find a specific survivor. There's Bitter Murmur of course, but unless you're very unlucky, you'll have an easy time hiding if you just stay away from exit gates. That's why I find Rancor the weakest of the three new killer perks.
Also, the aura reading isn't like bitter murmor, it only shows where survivors were when the gen pops, it isn't a live feed like murmor.

1-This point isn’t worth giving a ######### about but I’ll debunk it anyway: In Freddy’s DBD backstory it directly states the Entity altered Freddy’s powers. Ergo the extent of his abilities in Nightmare on Elm Street canon is irrelevant.
2-It’s a ridiculously overpowered and crutch endgame Perk that is even more overpowered and crutch on Freddy. Add to that his endgame is one of the worst Killer endgames out there, and Adrenaline is one of the more extreme Freddy counters.
3-Please get out of rank 21. “Uhhhhh the addons are there for that!” They NEED to reduce skill check chances. I shouldn’t have to waste addon slots just to reduce the odds of a Survivor rendering themselves invulnerable to me until I find them again. Adrenaline is not a crutch seeing how it is a one time use endgame perk. If we wanna talk crutches then you gotta bring up NOED. Even though it can be destroyed or voided, it is RARELY voided since survivors will probably not get every dull totem. Actually, I don’t want to know. The whole “Killer crutches exist therefore Survivor crutches that are far less counterable, far more effective, and exist in far greater abundance don’t need to be looked at” argument is preposterous.

Both sides have crutch perks need I remind you. It is an asymmetrical game and the “weaker side” is going to have more crutches than the “stronger side” regardless of what you think.

I never said certain perks don’t need to be looked at but killer mains have whined and complained about every perk and they just nerfed exhaustion perks? What OTHER crutch perks are there besides Decisive Strike because Adrenaline is not a crutch perk since it can easily be counteracted with NOED.

Not countered by noed but adrenaline isn't op. Freddy just needs some qol changes not rework. No, not pulling people of gens who aren't asleep. Freddy isn't supposed to be fun to play against, the devs should know killers that kill stealth and hinder progress are never fun to face like the doc for many survivors despite being not that strong. Making freddy fun is probably gonna get him worse than he is now.

    Make dream transition 5 seconds
Eliminate selfcare skillchecks in dream world
Take away the negative from red paintbrush
Survivors Can't do channeling actions during dream transition unless it's a save like the doc's madness
Make channeling actions 100% slower instead of just 50%
    Done.

I think rancor is the equivalent of NOED, that's a perk which rewards a poor gameplay.
I play on both sides, and I never use NOED. But it happened to me once to be able to get one kill (after having hooked them all), and unfortunately, I got the obsession who saved his DS until the end, so I ended up having no kills. In this case, I understand why a perk like Rancor was made.
But as a survivor. I never use DS. And when nobody in my team does, I am ALWAYS the obsession. Unlucky, you're going to say...
But it really pisses me off that a perk which has been created to counter DS is used on me. It ruins my game, because as OP said, all they do is wait for the gens to be completed, so I don't get any rescue or bold points and I finish the game having 6k.

What killers do you use. And do you have proof of being a rank one killer
Rank doesn't mean much with swf around, new emblem system, and balance patches.

If you get genrushed => bad player?
Your logic is flawed, billy main.

Nah his logic is flawless. We are all bad players. Survivors have nothing else to do unless we attempt to go for a slug and force heals and people to get off gens. We are bad because survivors have nothing else to do and we can't just chase one at a time without getting rushed, we gotta remember that we have to give them alternative objectives at a cost mostly to ourselves or we are noobs.

I had a match earlier where I was the obsession. (I was running Self-Care, Urban Evasion, Spine Chill, and Technician.) Once I had enough progress on the gate the little bonus speed was enough to open the gate and deny them their free kill. I have since then swapped Technician for Wake Up and am eager to test the further potential of this phenomenon.

A fellow spine chill wake up user. Been using that since day one. Takes a good couple seconds off and saved my life from noed killers.
  • I really like her, and I definitely think people are wrong to say she's weak. She's mid tier but needs some tweaks. I'd suggest allowing her to use her power even it's not fully recharged and reducing the cooldown of her power. I think she would be very good if she had those changes and it would justify her being 110% movespeed. I personally don't think she should be 115% MS, but if they're keeping her power how it is, I'd rather see 115% MS over nothing, because her power doesn't help enough in the chase to justify her being slower. (The only killers that are lower than base 115% all have good reasons for having that, Hag can place traps and teleport to them, Nurse can blink, Huntress has hatchets and technically Doctor and Myers do but it's more related directly to their power than it is because of their power) But we'll see how she goes.
That's true, every other killer with 110 can at least do something at vault points, she cannot so she should have the 115 speed for those windows and pallet moments but she is  ok, can't tell but it seems like I'm getting kills moreso because she is new.
  • Also, how it is now, it shows what direction you moved, the aura reading doesn't follow real time movement, idk if you actually used rancor.

@PhantomMask20763 I think they should remove the aura-reading.

An effect that only works on one survivor getting exposed is broken? Doesn't need a nerf, if it gave all survivors exposed then sure. You just have a mentality against those kind of perks but seeing it isn't noed and doesn't gaurantee much, it's fine. Also, the reading is after gens are done for 3 seconds.
  • I like the sound, the frequency is a bit high in game I think but I have to try to face her again. If she makes that "haa" sound while moving it kills her stealth as the sound is quite loud. White noise is too loud, I hear it as a survivor over half done gens. Also, for the purple passive phase add on,  can it moderately increases the rate bit slightly increases duration. Purple add on so two slightly effects I feel is underwhelming. Thanks!

It's going to be mid-chapter yes.

I don't have all the list of fixes in front of me but the Blood appearing while charging and a shorter cooldown for her Power is also planned. I know I just teasing sorry about that but nore details will be coming soon, please hold on...Thanks!

Thanks, maybe the sound can be lowered, it is so loud. Played as survivor and can hear it over the generator which was halfway done. Some survivors aren't keen to the sound yet but once people get keen to it, it is gonna be bad. Also since spine chill works I feel the sound should be lowered since she can still be detected she might be detectable with premonition too, not sure.
  • You can try some different builds
    Purple amulet+increased speed add on
Thrill of the hunt, ruin, haunted ground, devour hope

    Glasses+amulet
Ruin, sloppy butcher, rancor, remember me

Both passive phasing increase add ons
    Bamboozle, enduring, spirit fury, ruin

    Flute+watch
Ruin, myc, bbq, monitor and abuse

Yeh, but I mean something like an individual survivor can surrender under a certain condition like everyone down.

Again, wouldn't work because one Survivor leaving screws over everyone else.

If only available when slugged then why not if everyone is down. Or everyone down and into second hook phase.
  • Deliverance doesn't work all the time idk, devs should work on it and just make it 100% on first hook or explain factors that effect it.

There should be a surrender option for killers and survivors.

Wouldn't work for Survivors because no matter how it worked, trolling would be very possible. Requiring a majority vote means the majority can troll the minority. Requiring a unanimous vote means the minority can troll the majority. It can work for the Killer because he's the only one on his "team".

  • Giving up a perk slot for that perk isn't worth the bloodpoints. BBQ is way better plus killers get more bloodpoints than survivors.

The difference is the killer doesn't have teammates help, and wglf is easy stacks, stacks for freeing someone from a bear trap, taking a hit when body blocking and you can go selfcare elsewhere, hook rescue, taking a hit for someone at the exit gate, three stacks for getting hit then unhooking then getting hit again while teammate is trynna get away from hook. Bbq takes time and sometimes if a survivor is good at stealth or the chase is late game you could miss a bbq stack. There's times where I literally had to let a survivor go to find the last survivor I needed for bbq stack. Survivors also have two tracking perks that works without an objective condition spine chill and premonition.

  • Also, run bamboozle

Guys ! I played Freddy for the first time and had 4k, my killer rank was 16 so they maybe weren't that good.

Still it was fun to play him. Any advice?

When I put to sleep someone I follow him until he sleeps to hit him right away, is it a good strategy?
Black box/class photo is amazing, juggle survivors, sleep often, smack or sleep those within reach, keep survivors busy.

Freddy is already really strong in low ranks because low rank survivors dont know how to deal with him.
Also SC isnt used on rank 20 because the teachable isnt learned yet.

Yes its sad, but devs are balancing the game around rank 20 gameplay (funny but by their logic, nurse actually needs a buff  )

This is very sad. The devs need to get it together, and start balancing around Rank 1 - 5 gameplay. That's where the good players are, that's where the good balancing needs to be: up there with them. It's so stressful that the better you become, the fewer options you have for success. I mean, what's the point of creating all these Killers if you're only going to need three of them in top tier play. This is terrible, and there's no excuse for it. If people wanna have fun, you're going to need to suck, at least for the time being. We shouldn't be forced to choose between withholding our rank or playing a diversity of Killers. It just isn't fair.

That's how it is in any game, game shouldnt be balanced at the top players but maybe ranks 7-14 a good middle range. In anygame, there are characters who blow other characters out of the water do to moveset or power differences. I 4k regularly at high rank with freddy before emblems and some other freddies I see do good as well, freddy can't be played like other killers and most people try to play him the same.

Getting straight to the point. I am begging you devs to gice Freddy Krueger the buffs he deserves. I don't honestly care about ANY other killer. I grew up on Freddy Krueger and I was so happy when he was announced as a playable killer in Dead by Daylight that I got the game for myself. Congratulations guys, you got me to buy your game for solely this FANTASTIC DLC decision. I've played Freddy ever since and I absolutely do not play any other killer in the game any more. I simply have too much enjoyment for the character of Freddy to play anyone else.

But, as one who plays Freddy as often as I do, I note the faults. In addition, I watch TydeTyme's videos where he has discussed Freddy's nerfs and playstyle. Freddy needs an almost COMPLETE overhaul so that he can be viable in the high competitive scene. If I need to list some of the issues point by point then fine:

    Problems with current Freddy Krueger:
-7 full seconds in Dream Transition before Freddy is able to do ANYTHING, this gives survivors ample time to finish a generator they're close to completing, rescuing a hooked survivor (in addition they can literally just follow you to the hook you stick the downed survivor onto so that they can rescue them immediately and you can do nothing to stop it.), opening the gate, hatch, healing, waking another survivor, ect. On top of all that, the Dream Transition does nothing to INTERRUPT actions, which it SHOULD DO. Perks do VERY little to compensate for this.
-Waking up is TOO EASY. If I recall correctly, when Freddy originally released, survivors who were asleep COULD NOT interact with generators. Bring this back, there is absolutely no reason someone who's sleeping should be able to work as a mechanic repairing a massive piece of technology in the waking world. TydeTyme for instance has successfully put all the players in the game to sleep three different times. Virtually nothing happened and almost all of them ended up waking not long after the fact because it's just too easy to do so.

These are perhaps the biggest issues with Freddy Krueger currently within Dead by Daylight, and I want him to be better, his character has been dragged through the mud, disrespected, and dumped all over. He has basically no benefits to putting people to sleep, and instead the Dream Demon power serves as a CRUTCH, or a LIMITATION that no other killer has. It should not be so. It should be the WORSR CASE SCENARIO to be stuck in the Dream World, not a minor inconvenience, which is what it currently is. You need to remove several of the capabilities survivors have to wake up, and you need to give Freddy more BENEFITS to dealing with survivors he's put to sleep.

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this and I sincerely hope a dev looks at this and really thinks about this. I hate that casuals and newcomers who failed to adapt their strategies to deal with an already insubstantial killer had their whiney pleas heard and so an already weak killer became the absolute worst. I hate that THIS is the man I've enjoyed watching for so long, and I especially hate that despite all these complaints, and the very few Freddy mains who UNDERSTAND these problems, I hate that our voices will be drowned out by the incessant whining of low level players who don't know a pallet from a locker.

Doesnt need an overhaul, just power buffs and add on adjustments. Needs the hag treatment.
