There's literally no difference are you slow? It's literally him playing the game TRYING to win. Whether it's with all perk challenge or not it's literally him trying his best in both challenges. And he's literally widdled down to tunneling and camping so often in the all perk challenge.
There is man. Holy ######### ur dense. Watch his 50 win streak as legion or even Hag and pay attention how he plays and what he says.
because if u cant see how camping a hook after u saw other 2 survs came for the save is a valid strat, and just simply facecamping it in the hopes someone comes is stupid. Or tunneling when u need to exert pressure and just simply waste time on the same person the whole match. If u really dont see the difference idk what to tell u man. Develop game sense maybe? Idk

I literally watched otz do the all perk challenge, and watched him camp and tunnel MULTIPLE times throughout that entire challenge. So like... please stop.
As I said and I will repeat tunneling can be used as a strat but not the way u so clearly stated before. Also all perk challenge is not the same as a streak with the same killer. Quite the opposite really. Please pay attention

Ok then play the next 50 games as Ghostface. Use addons or map offerings and whatever perks you like. Win 50 games in a row by letting at most 1 survivor escape.
It will be a cakewalk right?
of course. Its the killer I play best. Cant guarantee anything, but it wouldn’t hurt. As I said I consistently get 3ks. But still, not the point. Tell me when u found it.

Why don't you do an Otz style win streak?
Use No addons or offerings and you must kill 3 people. You may use whatever perks you like.
Why don't you try it with : Michael Myers.
What? U do realize that was not the point right? Like at all.
Besides, I main Ghostface not Myers.

Otz completed many of these before MMR was part of the game. He will be the first to say : you can't do that anymore now that MMR is part of the game.
He kinda cheated on the Artist as he did the last 13 games on a day where they were testing mmr when it was essentially "off".
CMWinter got nearly 200 pig game wins in a row before MMR. Now that MMR is a thing he can't ever do it again. He's extremely good at pig too - but to be honest Pig just kinda sucks.
Also when you watch Otz play sometimes he will camp and tunnel during his challenges because he knows how much pressure it puts on survivors.
Not really lol SouzaSoul does it every week on stream. From Thursday to Sunday he plays as many different killers and always manage to pull off at least a 3k. I myself got a 17 win streak last week.
and Yes camping and tunneling are valid strategies but not as op has implied before on this very post. Tunneling ( and face camping for that matter) is only effective on overly altruistic survs, otherwise they’ll just ignore it and gen rush the killer

I have really bad vision issues too. I love the idea of a killer who can suddenly make things dark and you have to try and find a generator, another surviver, or even try and be stealth until nightfall is over. What I found helps is that I always have Bond regardless of what map it is, so if the map is darker and I'm facing a Dredge, that helps me see where everyone is and I can get to a generator. I definitely understand why nightfall can be a problem for poorly sighted pepple or people with other medical conditions though. I wouldn't be able to face 10 Dredge's at once.
Yeah I have eye problems too. So I started running Windows of Opportunity to see the best options around me. But as u said, it would be nightmare facing dredge many times in a row.
also, when I play on pc i use a reshader to dim the strain on my eyes. If ur a pc player I thibk u should look it up

What you don't understand is that it's not designed that way because you lose more, the more often you go after multiple survivors. Because it's literally a waste of time while survivors get free gens.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3032897#Comment_3032897
I'm not saying you cannot nerf tunneling. My issue is when people say to nerf tunneling without buffing other strats. They literally want to nerf tunneling and leave it at that.
I think i see what the problem is. Skill issue. Cuz the game literally is killing the most survs before they finish the gens and escape.
I recommend u watch otz’ 50 win streak on YouTube. He literally managed to get 50 win streak with every single killer in the game while streaming. Maybe then you’ll see how wrong u are.

F13 had a lawsuit that killed it.
Last year had a CEO run away with the money & they tried to be discord store exclusive.
This year will release the LF game, Ghostbusters, ED and VHS. DBD will be required to change - or there will be bots.
They been saying the same thing for years. 6 to be precise. A certain Slasher the 13th was one of them, The new Ash Vs was the same.
the truth is, if killer was that unbalanced no one would play and dbd would die out slowly (kinda what happened to A certain hero game and its balancing). But tbh I have fun and get consistent wins and so do a lot of people.

But that is my point. That it's always gonna be there, there is no changing it.
If you simply give killers incentives to go out and chase other people and have an actual POSITIVE to doing so. It would happen so much less. It would go from being bad killers, good killers, and toxic killers doing it. To just toxic killers. Bad killers who tunnel don't ever win anyway as they are simply bad and not good enough. Good killers can now play the game freely without being held hostage to one viable boring strat. And toxic killers are such a small percentage and they'd still be doing it but it's a minority.
You can't just give survivors all these tools to combat tunneling without giving killers another route they can take, it's literally the dumbest thing you can do because all you do is yea kill the boring playstyle... but you've given no other option for killers to stay competitive so then they're just stuck with nothing.
Of course there is, that is exactly what the devs are doing by making it harder. If it continues to be a problem the more likely it is for them to make it even harder and so on and so forth.
Also, as i said before, the incentive to go after others is trying to get more than a single kill all match. After all there are 4 survs not 1. The game was not meant for u to go after the same surv over and over. If that is ur gameplay I’m glad it’s being punished in the new update.
-
I like the dredge as a whole. Decent killer, very fun to play with and against. not super strong, but a very nice addition to the roster.
But I have terrible eyesight so nightfall kinda ######### me up a lil. Unless I play on pc of course, cause then reshaders help. Otherwise, love him
-
Huh, never thought I’d ever see someone saying Myers and Clown are strong. I lived to see the day

Devour hope is hight risk high reward, i agree.
But what about ruin after the nerf and the other hex perks?
Yeah after the nerf it will be #########. I think its a stupid rework tbh.
But the devs said they wanted to change the meta, and ruin was the second most used perk by killers, so I guess killing it was the solution /sarcasm
-
The point of hexes is high risk high reward. Devour hope is super strong but can be cleansed, that way its balanced.
but totem placements should be better in general

I'm still hoping that someday I'll get a "The Mummy" (1999) chapter. Give me an Ancient Egypt map, Rick O'Connell as a Survivor, and Imhotep as the Killer. I've also heard a lot of people want an "Alien" chapter, with a spaceship map (complete with windows for an amazing space view) and Ellen Ripley as a Survivor. That would also be really cool. What about you? Do you have any licensed (or even original) chapter ideas?

The issue is that even with the exhaustion debuff, exhaustion perks are still a no-brainer. As it currently stands you should ALWAYS have an exhaustion perk, you're practically punished for not having one because your chases are that much shorter. There's less thought when it comes to your build because one of your perk slots is basically already an 'Exhaustion Slot'. Non-exhaustion builds are weaker and I just wanted choosing an exhaustion perk to be more of a meaningful choice. Have some slight adavantage to make up for not having the exhaustion perk.
I see. But that is not a bad thing. Having exhaustion perks are a must because the game was always meant to have chases therefore perks that help with them are healthy. Specially if u go against a nurse for instance, and even if! when I play nurse I eat Lithes and Sprint Bursts like they mean nothing.
So maybe instead of another downside to those exhaustion perks, maybe they should add more deception perks, more viable ones. Because I think a little bit diversity in builds is also healthy.
-
@yobuddd said:
I think a fair effect would be to prevent any buffs while exhausted
It could only negate effects from teammates (ie Kindred, Prove Thyself, Leader, and really anything else except Vigil - since that’s what Vigil is all about.)
Of course, we could make it affect your own perks as well (Resilience, Iron Will, your own Boons, Hope, etc.)
Maybe throw in aura blindness as well, but that could maybe be too big a nerf to Windows of Opportunity.
Personally, I think the most fair idea is the first - just preventing shared effects from teammates.
i mean, exhaustion is the downside. Like @Krazzik meantioned before way back in 2017 u could recover from exhaustion while running. That’s not possible anymore (TG).
it takes at least 40 secs to recover from it and that’s the balance. If they added any other debuff or what have u, wouldn’t make much a difference on M1 killers but on killers such as Spirit,Nurse and Blight it would be easily exploited

Making tunneling worse doesn't suddenly make going for other people good. All you do is kill the only viable strat killers have.
I hate to break it to ya bud, but if thats ur only strat to secure a measly kill, ur doing something wrong.
-
What u just said makes absolutely no sense. How come there is no incentive for the killer to go after someone else? I mean, getting more than a single kill is the reason why I always try to get as many hooks as possible.
They are adding countermeasures to prevent tunneling because it happens way more often in low mmrs and being a less skillful branch of the game I honestly think it is ok.

what i should say then? probably those streamers and you have a different matchmaking from mine i guess... please, don't mention those streak of wins cause it's literal bullshit, we both know that those things aren't possible in the slightest if you face good survivors, and the survivors in those video well, they aren't good at all objectively speaking...
well idk what to tell u bud, its easier to deny what is right in front of u than to own our mistakes and get better. Also I stream every weekend on twitch, if u want u can always watch me get one of those “impossible” streaks u talk about.
Besides, do u really think, a killer with say 10 win streaks would get bad survs? Cause it makes no sense someone winning that much be low mmr now does it?
-
@fulltonon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3031243#Comment_3031243
It always depends on the level of survivors you face against, it will happen at some random matches but expecting that to always happen is just wrong.
gathering same skill level of team mate or even matching with them is not uncommon at all.
Sure, some matches are just so challenging u cant afford to make many mistakes, but that is also true for the survs as well. But like I said, not every match is gonna be tournament level. Many people get win streaks as killer so its not an unreasonable thing to say u can always make a comeback
-
@fulltonon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3031219#Comment_3031219
Weak link doesn't exists in plenty of matches, so no, you are just wasting time by doing "switch" unless you break pallets and such.
There is always a weak link, and switching is often the best solution. Today I played surv against a Billy who wasted like half a gen on me and didn’t even get a hit. Like 10 seconds later he sniped a mikaela working on a gen on a dead zone at the end of the map. That is high level play.
-
@Tostapane said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3031219#Comment_3031219
this is the average killer experience at high mmr (especially if you don't play with nurse and/or blight, without mentioning that you won't find a weak link and even if you did it's sufficient throwing down pallets to waste the killer's time): did a chase who last in a reasonable time and hook the survivor, 3 gens pop. at this point you don't have much choice if not securing a kill before the last gen pop and maybe get a second survivor during the endgame
There is always a weak link, not every match u get tournament level players. I play nurse but I main GF more than any other killer, and my results at endgame are always consistent with both.
u gotta play ur strengths, if pallets are such problem for u maybe Spirit Fury will help. But dont come to me and say theres nothing to be done, cause there always are. Streamers consistently get win streaks while playing killer. I myself got a 17 streak last weak. (I consider a 3k a win btw)

@Tostapane said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/331359/why-do-i-have-to-play-bad-on-purpose
fact is that the killer doesn't have much choices at this point, if you wasted his time for allowing the other survivors to do 4 gens, you already did your job (as killer you need someone out from the game asap if you want have some chances, hence why killers tunnel... this is a gamble btw cause if you find someone able to loop you'll loose the game and you'll be forced to focus on a single survivor to get at least 1 kill). you see, the problem isn't you that must play bad on purpose, it's the game itself that with his mechanics support those kind of plays
Doesn’t have many choices? Bruh, how about not wasting such a long time on ONE survivor? As Killer u should ALWAYS go for the weak links not for the looping pros. Yet, for some prideful reason the killer gets all rilled up and insists on the mistake of wasting his time on a single person the whole match. Just out of spite I take it.
also, its not a gamble ??? Like if it took more than 20 secs to get ANYTHING from that player u should move on to another not waste the whole game on them. There are 4 players in any given match, not all of them are good at chases, find that player.

Honestly think they should remove the scourge hook requirement. It isn't that much anyways so locking it behind specific hooks is a bit... eh.
Nah. It’s too good an effect to just exist without strings attached. It would be same if u could bless every single totem in the map instead of one at a time.

everytime i run killer for 4 gens or till EGC, i have to get tunneled & camped.
and no i dont run DS in my builds.
it got so bad in my last game that everyone hopped off gens to body block but killer just slugs till he gets me?
"dont run me or be good at looping or ill tunnel & ruin the game for you since im bad at the game."
this game rewards bad gameplay & people who abuse horrible mechanics.
Why does that bother u tho? I mean, I have fun in chases not in escaping tbh. So If I ran a killer for 3 or 4 or even 5 gens I’d die happily knowing I did my best and had fun doing so.
The thing is, no matter how good u are, there’s just a finite number of resources for u to use. While the killer will always have their M1. And trust me, the better u are at chases the more you’ll get facecamped and tunneled when they finally get u. It’s a form of flattery really

Well, that depends on ur killer and ur play style as well. For instance If im playing Slug Sadako, no hook perks would work very well.

Maybe I have gotten bad rng on Haddonfield. My experience has been: when survivors are doing gens outside of the buildings you can't use your power. When gens are done and you need to teleport to check on one of the exits, you can't because all of the lockers are in the buildings.
As for the net loss statement I was specifically talking about Fractured cowshed and I was speaking in terms of "net loss" in chase. Meaning using your power always seems to make you lose distance. Sorry for the confusion.
Oh ok, but Haddonfield is awesome for the dredge, maybe u got some ######### rng. About the teleport tho, were there by any chance any survs hooked close when u tried to tp? Cause u cant tp near a hooked surv.
I understand about fractured, I get that same problem sometimes in Coal Tower w/ nurse. There has been a lot of reports on Rubberbanding since the latest update. Maybe its a shared issue of some kind
-
Old dbd as in maps with a sh*t ton of infinites? No thank u. I was a surv only player back then and even I know that sh*t was broken.
I still have flashbacks of the old broken hitbox. The dang exhaustion recovering while running. Self Care to full health during chase (Jeez).
What we miss is the feel of old dbd, not IT precisely

Its a very niche perk, and there are better perks that do the same and more consistently. Cause u know, the killer also scares the birds, and takes a while before they spawn

First you are a bit confused. I am not talking about the "Freebie" where everyone gets 5 seconds of endurance. That by the way is a HUGE direct buff to survivors because it guarantees the chase from an unhook will last +5 seconds.
Look at what BT does right now and compare what BT will do after the changes. Look at say Iron Will and Spine Chill pre/post changes. See a difference? BT becomes a stronger perk and IW/SC were completely gutted and nerfed.
BT will become even more meta than it is right now because 15 seconds of 7% speed will have a massive effect on preventing tunneling.
Now, they buffed BT cause of camping and tunneling. it was one of the most used perks exactly to counter those.
So if the changes decrease the instances of camping and tunneling it will not, by any means, remain a meta perk. And I think that’s exactly the point they’re trying to make. The perk is so strong now that it makes no sense wasting time going after the surv affected by bt or otr.
-
midwich is so bad. I hate as surv and as killer. Now with fewer hooks its worse even. I feel like it should be more spacious that way they could spread hooks more evenly
-
“Makes no sense” bro…it’s a game. If it were real life do u really think anyone would survive a punch from nemesis? Let alone 2?
and OF COURSE it makes sense gameplay wise. Altruism is an in game category that awards bp for such actions.

"bad game design is whatever I don't like"
lul.
Most of my hours are on survivor, I don't really like being tunneled or camped either but it's even worse playing a killer that can get looped indefinitely and forced to give up chase - not because of a skill differential but because of speed and map abuse.
If I continue getting looped out of killers that I want to play then don't ######### complain when I start camping and running nurse wit NOED more.
What? Bro there’s no infinite loops no more. I think the only one that comes close to that is that one in backwater swamp.
also, hate to break it to you but nurse with or without noed will not make up for lack of experience and skill. Just fyi
-
If ur bad at chases there’s perks for that
-
Come again? U had problems with dredge on haddonfield? How? Almost every gen is inside a house or right in front of one. I haven’t played much Dredge, but all my matches in haddonfield ended positively.
fractured cowshed may be the worst thats true, some gens are right in the middle of the corn with no lockers close, survs with spine chill can see u coming from miles.
But I love swamp bro. All the loops in open areas give a lot of remnant play, the sinked ship is great for locker play, so is the shack. idk about net loss tho, but never been a problem not on my pc nor on xbox series.
-
like many maps this one needs rework. I mean I get it, theres very few windows, and the ones that exist are terrible (im looking at u Freezer loop) so they compensate with pallets.
But its a lot. Just trade some pallets for some decent jungle gyms and it’ll be ok

Legion is a huge pressure Killer. Run the add-on that makes Survivors broken if they mend. Also use them to scare and punish survivors trying to act like hero’s.
The Game is a very good map for them.
Not really bro. Good survs never heal against legion so being broken is a waste of addon. If everybody’s injured his power is useless as well. Legion is a weaker version of plague imo.
-
I really dont mind this “bug”, its actually kinda fun to vers cause u never know which way hes gonna commit so it helps improve mindgame wise.
but since it’s apparently inevitable, I really think they should fix collision on trees. I’ve seen blights sliding away when slamming onto trees.
-
Billy has a overheat mechanics that even with addons make his chainsaw not always available. His turn rate is abismal compared to Oni’s. Oni’s hitbox is also more forgiving than Billy’s
Not to mention that against Oni u cannot stay injured for long, so Survs will have to heal more often, therefore waste more time. That means more pressure on them.

This is not about you or I feel about how the game should be. This is about how the game is currently intended. And in that case, there's only one goal for survivors i.e. escaping. But it's not common unless they decide that for themselves. Survive with others, or not.
Survivors are not a team, you can argue that however you want. But as surprising, counterintuitive, or upsetting as that fact could be, it doesn't change due to how you, or I, or anyone else feels about it.
Unless u can do all gens by urself and chase the killer at the same time it is indeed a team game.
I mean, We can put ur hypothesis to test. We just hop into a swf u, me and 2 of my buds, right. Then the 3 of us just die right of the bat. If u can escape alone then you’ll be proven right

Yes they consider the hug tech to be a bug that needs fo be fixed it really won't make Blight weaker just less fun to play which I don't like it is a really fun mechanic for both sides it has a fair counterplay can be easily avoided if survivors are aware of what you're doing.
If they want to nerf Blight just nerf C33 and Alchemist ring otherwise he's mostly fine they're just ruining the fun techs you can do with him.
literally the only fun and balanced S tier killer with exciting counterplay.
That sucks. Because blight all in all is balanced (his addons could use a rework but hes fine as is).
And this “bug” is so fun, wether using it urself or versing it. I mean, its exhilarating trying to dodge him. Bummer its leaving the game

Survivors can play however they want as well (within the rules).
There's this misconception that they're a team. They're not. They're 4 individuals who can decide to cooperate or not and who can change their minds at any moment. As long as they're not actively sandbagging, they're allowed to be as selfish as they please.
Sure u can. Doesn’t mean u should.
also, its no “misconception”, u gotta work together to reach a common goal. U cant do all 5 gens alone, be chased by the killer all by urself for the whole match.
If a player is removed early from the match, most likely everybody will die as well. The higher the mmr the truer this is.
-
@Seraphor said:
If you're the last survivor, it can be advantageous to have both the exits powered and the hatch open. This gives the killer three objectives to guard.
So if the only other survivor is killed and you have the last gen at 50% or sonething, completing it quickly could be a good idea.
Not really. The killer can simply close the hatch and watch 2 unmovable objects instead of 3. It makes no sense to let the surv finish the gen it’s riskier.
-
Guys, endurance given by OTR works like any other instance of Endurance.
Meaning if u are full health and with endurance status active and get hit u will still hit the “deep wound” status. So youll go from healthy to injured to deep wound in one hit. It’s worthless using otr while at full health.
U can test this by using a medkit with styptic agent, healing fully and then getting hit
