All killers are good at tunneling and if a phead tunnels you out of the game then that's tough luck as with any killer he still needs to get 3 other survivors but I'm guessing if he's tunneling that means if he was some other killer he would just camp
So he’s basically telling you that you are right, he is made for tunneling and that’s what most Pheads do, probably including himself.
Pyramid Head needs to be adjusted to have a cool down or 2-3 seconds in between M2 uses and deplete his spamming of the power faster. So he has to pick wisely when to use M1 or when to use M2.
That way you will have the trash Pheads raging because they can’t get free kills anymore, but you will also still see good Pheads dominating. Just like what happens with Nurse.

Just a shame that looping was the direction this game took, as it feels like the most creatively bankrupt way to extend chases. Run in circles and repeat the same jungle gym pathing every time vs most killers. Thrilling. Evidently it's not always this, but in my experience it ends up mostly being this.
Thank God we have killers like Pyramid Head to rob survivors of their optimized looping kata which ends up with the use of the legendary 'boring' buzzword. We need killers to be made more 'boring' then.
Thank God you now have your choice of killers that let you 4K players that are far better than you are because they give you every reward with zero skill. Thrilling.

They did he can't see cages
he can’t see cages. He only already knows that the cage is gonna spawn as far away from him as possible so he can just assume where the location will be just like every survivor assumes where the survivor cage location will be.
Simple basic intelligence. 1 + 1 = 2 difficulty level.

By allowing him to spam it repeatedly at such a fast pace you can't use his cooldown to press W and avoid it. :P
Honestly his ranged power is fine now; it's the Tormented status effect that needs looking at.
So they didn’t make it “way easier to avoid him”. Yeah, that’s what I thought.

You can do the same thing you do with huntress. Deathslinger is far weaker than huntress, especially considering addons.
I don't know if you know this, but the primary objective for the survivors is to do gens, not get in chases with the killer. He is well designed because he's one of the few killers that can actually catch survivors, provided the deathslinger has taken the time and effort into becoming good. He's just like any of the other high skill cap killers.
You have to actually think when you fight the deathslinger, you can't just beeline to the nearest safe tile like you can with other killers.
I'm one of the top 200 deathslinger players, and there are survivors that can run me for 3 gens pretty easily by juking properly and actually randomizing their movements. Most survivors try to juke, but they do it in ways that are predictable, when they bank right they always stop at a certain point, or they always wiggle right then left, never changing to left to right, or banking for a half a second one time then banking for 2 seconds the next time.
Deathslinger promotes dynamic play, and the chances of facing a truly godlike deathslinger, which there are probably less than 50 in the entire game, is very low. This means that it's probably an error on your end that you're getting caught by them.
Personally I don’t have huge issues with Deathslingers. But you mention you’re one of the top players. Is that a list you made yourself?

Lol This conversation is over I like talking to people who isn't missing half their brain cya
Then I recommend you never talk to yourself.
When you can’t counter argument anything and say “lol cya”.
-
The range and width is big enough so it’s extremely easy. When locked in a vaulting animation it’s brain dead easy to get a M2 hit, otherwise you can M1. You can spam your M2 for free with no cool down so even a monkey could 4K as a Phead.
-
@SilentHillOnDvD said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1751866#Comment_1751866
Yes hitting potd threw walls doesn't take skill or hitting them when they're not in animation lock doesn't take skill
You mean clicking M1 implies skill for you?
-
He is just like Phead. But at least Deathslinger needs a bit of skill since he needs to aim to hit and doesn’t have an enormously ranged and spammable M2 attack with 0 downsides.
They have this tendency now of releasing killers that put you in the situation of “doomed if you do and doomed if you don’t”.
Vault that window and I’ll get a free hit with my M2. Don’t vault it and you get M1ed. Your choices are : get hit or get hit. So much fun. So much skill. So much counterplay. Such good design.
This is different with Huntress for example because you need to actually be good to hit the hatchets, you can only throw so many, you have to reload. Takes practise, takes skill, it’s rewarding but punishing. Unlike Phead. Deathslinger is just a weaker version of Phead.
-
@DeliciousFood said:
The only issue with Pyramid Head is how liberal he can be with his M2 without any real punishment. Otherwise he seems perfectly fine. Learn to juke his M2 if he's readying it, he can't cancel to M1 so easily anymore, and just be alert as to where he's aiming. A survivor playing well isn't entitled to looping the killer until he breaks the pallet. You aren't entitled to winning a 1 v 1 with a killer. I feel like too many people who play way too much survivor think they should be able to run a killer for at least a gen for it to be 'fun'.
Well, yeah? You want at least a realistically fair chance when playing a video game. “Get outplayed by game design in which you can do nothing about” is not how fun works. Let me tell you, if I play against you as a Spirit your input in going to be zero. Let me tunnel you out of the game in 1 minute and then tell me how much fun you have.
“bUt ThhaTs YoUR OwN FaUlT”
No, if the killer is experienced and powerful, an experienced Spirit or Phead, your input doesn’t matter. You go down fast. And notice I say “experienced” and not “good”. Being good implies some kind of skill involved, and in the end killers like Spirit, Phead and Freddy are very basic and easy to learn killers that involve no skill or technique.

I mean...this is snarky but it's actually legit.
My first reaction when the gen fizzles isn't "gotta get ruin" it's "fuch, guess I'm here now."
Which does lead to riskier greed plays, but once you do it a dozen times youre like "okay, I'm not gonna get this whole gen done, but if I can get it to 70-80, and win my chase, I can sneak back, and then...."
Which, honestly, isn't awful. But it does suck if you and your team can't establish enough of a repair buffer to make those plays. Then the game just becomes "How long can I make the killer chase me to earn that kill, lol"
“if I get it to 70% and win the chase...”
... you’ll be back to a 0% done generator. And you might win the chase, I don’t know how you play. 99% of randoms have never won any chase and they couldn’t win a chase even if they followed a step by step video tutorial.

hahah why u are so toxic?
At first, english it's not my mature language, buddy, if u want let's talk in spanish, wich it's my native one.... can u talk in spanish buddy?????? do u want to talk in spanish so i will be the one who makes laugh at u? buddy? :)
Then, im rank 6 survivor, 7 killer, as u see, im not rank 20, toxic buddy... but u are the real one who seems is rank 20 with those words and crying like that lol
Then, u are crying because people take NOED, u think u are so pro? Because u don't play NOED? And u think all the rest of people play it, are noobs and potatoe killers as u said? U are experience player of this game? why cry then of NOED players, buddy.... why u care of other builds?? (Anyway i agree with u i saw many times how noob potatoe killers can take more kills with NOED)
Sad how u are talking: ''i never use NOED, i refuse to it'' ..... It's dishonorable or denigrating for u if pick that perk?
Wich perks u go with killer then? Don't tell me u go full meta perks, if not .... wich perks are u proud of use then?
And if u don't like my english, as i said, let's see how good is ur spanish, no?... anyway i think u can understand me, no? if u have enough reading comprehension
So we agree NOED is a crutch that gets trash killers kills they don’t deserve. Good.
Do I think NOED is dishonorable ? Yes.
Do I think people who use NOED are noobs and potato killers? Yes. 100%.
What perks do I use? I like to switch it up. I use meta perks, but I also find basement builds like Agi + Ig + Mad grit + Monstrous Shrine funny, sometimes save the best for last, and I like trying new things in general.
No, I never use NOED to get kills, I think it’s pathetic and shows how bad you are at the game. And yes I feel superior to killers who can’t get kills without a crutch perk.

Also, he is still counter able, just throw down pallets early when in a chase while asleep.
That is exactly what I am saying. Spirit takes zero skill or ability to play. Exactly like Freddy. Zero investment, every reward.

I was Rank-1 until the Reset on the 13th. Now I'm Rank-4 about to pip to Rank-3. I play Myers mostly.
Myers is a mid tier killer. Depending on the map and the build you use he can be strong. With the usual undying + ruin and tinkerer you should be able to 3-4K no problem.
The only time you might struggle is if you get really unlucky with the map + (ormond, nice farm spawns) and you get competent SWF teams (rarely happens). Apart from that you should have little difficulties.

Really? Interesting view from the cheap seats. Killer has always been easier in the potato Ranks. It gets rather hard as you hit the middle Ranks, and a downright struggle as you approach and get into the Red. The needle shifts. This is because Survivors need each other to win, and early on there are 4x the chances of weak links. As you advance in Ranks, the weak links become fewer and fewer.
That is not true. It used to be a struggle years ago. For a long while now, it’s just not a struggle anymore. Red ranked survivors are as useless as rank 10s.

any red rank survivor knows that killers can't be in multiple places at once, and that the aura reveal from undying only goes off when you first get near the totem. it only takes 1 out of 16 perks to easily disable 2 out of 4. How are we still having the do bones discussion in 2020 lmao
You miss the point. It doesn’t matter if you carry small game. Especially if you’re in solo queue, by the time you break all the totems even if you knew the exact location of every single one of them, nobody will have repaired anything and everybody will be either dead or on death hook with 5 generators left.

Hi, i guess u are a noob or so bad player, because u don't know u can remove NOED just cleaning totems.
At first, it's a perk of the game, it's a mechanic of the game, why u refuse to use it?
Then, in a match, i agree, i much times saw potatoe killers do 3k or 4k just because of NOED, but..... U NEED TO DO 5 GENS BEFORE NOED ACTIVATES, so it's a LATE GAME perk, it's a perk, for if u had a bad match, u can do something in late at least....(I play more survivor than killer, and i don't play NOED in al killers)
So, for example me, with 200 hours in the game, all the matches i play survivor, I CLEAN A MINIMUM OF 2 TOTEMS, USUALLY 3. So if survivors don't clean totems along the match, WHO IS MORE NOOB OR/AND BAD PLAYER, THE KILLER WHO PLAYS NOED.... OR THE SURVIVORS WHO DON'T CLEAN TOTEMS????????????
So, stop crying about NOED.... learn about the game u are playing AND START CLEANING TOTEMS LOL
I invite you to compare your game and my game, see our survivors and our killers, and see who plays more killer, you or me.
I’m sick of rank 20s trying to give me lessons.

For the majority of the game you are playing against a killer with three perks instead of four because NOED does literally nothing until it activates. You are saying bad killers are getting kills only because of NOED. Therefore you are playing against killers who are bad, and who in addition to being bad, only have three perks until NOED activates. If you can't consistently stop NOED against a bad killer with three perks or play around NOED activating by opening the gate only when the killer isn't near you then it's not the killer who is playing badly, it's you.
Most games with randoms don’t even reach NOED. They finish with 4 generators left. That being said trash players will get the 4K through NOED because when you play with randoms they give you 10 seconds per chase. Hence you have to rush motors. Hence you can’t cleanse totems.
-
Let me know whenever you want a demonstration. Do you even own the game?

This is good advice against killers who chase one person for 80 seconds, otherwise you just sink up to a minute into a gen only to get pushed off it and lose all progress. If the killer is even half decent you really do need to cleanse the totems.
Precisely. But don’t bother with those kind of people. From the things they say you can tell they don’t know how the game works.

If those killers are so bad, why didn't you take the time to cleanse any totems? To me, it sounds like those killers are getting a lot of value out of an easily countered perk.
This tells me you don’t play high ranked matches consistently in solo queue. Either mainly play killer or always with friends. Then it makes sense that you don’t know how it works.

I don't get why everyone is playing the combo up like it's unbeatable. It's not old Ruin. You literally just have to commit to gens and the combo does nothing.
Also if such a weak and easily counterable combo is so boring to face what do you think it's like to face x4 DS, DH, BT, SB, etc... every game? I'm not trying to say you're a survivor main or anything but this mild combo that can be disabled by survivors or outright ignored is nothing compared to a lot of perks survivors have that killers always have to worry about each game even if no one is running it and most of them are either much harder to counter or outright can't be countered.
Not sure if you even play this game. Or maybe you’re rank 16. Otherwise I don’t understand why you even said that.
The fact is “just power through gens” is a statement only somebody who plays only rank 20 killers would say. Any decent killer will put enough pressure on the team and end chases long before you can power through a gen. If I use that combination as a killer, most they have repaired has been 2 generators so far.
The only way what you say makes sense is if the killer is a potato or inexperienced and can’t end chases fast enough/ doesn’t apply any map pressure.
-

Because it’s -the- bad killers crutch. I’ve seen it countless times, potato killers go from 0 kills to 3-4K only because of NOED.

I would agree in the sense that I think Ruin + Undying on a good killer is unnecessary for solo matches. A good red rank SWF still destroys but SWF is busted as we all know.
This is why I wish there was a SWF indicator. So I would know if I'll need to run the meta to let the match last a little longer, or I can try out some new or more fun perk builds without the match being over in 5 minutes. I want to run builds that will be unexpected and fun for both sides but outside of the meta killers a half decent survivor can keep a chase going for multiple gens and from that point the match is basically done.
That said, their reasoning of "people would just quit when they saw SWF" is spot on. Judging by the stuff that gets posted on this forum you'd think every SWF is Seal Team 6 whose soul purpose is the tilt killer players. Maybe add a 1.5x gain to all bloodpoints for killers who stay in SWF lobbies to incentivise it or something.
I had a Ruin/Undying Freddy on Azarovs with stacked slowdown add ons and corrupt yesterday and just ran to a hook and let him kill me. That's not fun for anyone.
I understand -good- full SWF squads can break the game balance, but :
1. How often you find those? Let me tell you, I never do. And I play a lot. Maybe I can remember a couple matches in years where I’ve seen decent swf squads. One in particular comes to mind where it was very frustrating to play against them. One in 4 years.
2. Once you’re experienced and know how to play, if you use a strong killer the game is virtually non winnable. Talking from experience. Any good killer who tryhards, it’s pretty much guaranteed 3k to say the least. Especially using meta perks and Spirit/Freddy/Nurse/Phead, and if you’re good with them also the rest.
Now, if we are talking about exceptional survivor teams that could be seen as God, as in, they don’t exist (or are so very rare that you could safely say they virtually don’t exist) or very new and inexperienced killers, then yes. Survivors can bully killers.
For this to happen the killer needs to be really bad/suffer some disability (the player using them)/ or just completely new.
There’s this mantra that comes from 2016 when survivors were indeed broken. Ever since then, everything has changed and the tables have turned. This is not 2016 and survivors are no longer dominant in this game.
-
Good killers end a chase long before you can get a gen half done. Using ruin and undying guarantees all gens keep regressing. Combined with tinkerer, it’s instant win.

I'm getting a bit bored of it as a solo as it can immediately seal your fate against a good Blight or other high tier. It's certain death if a half decent Freddy has thrown on slowdown add ons with it.
But, on the other hand. I've been playing against the same survivor build since Huntress released. New potential meta perks have been thrown to the wayside as they just don't stand up to the current meta builds. It's a crappy situation. I'm slowly trying to phase out Undying and just use Ruin or try different builds that work well with other killers. I just find it kinda bland. And its the problem killers use to have with old Ruin where you basically just had 3 perks. But now its 2.
I still see more variety in Survivor perks. Sure, you get the dead hard - ds - bt clones fairly often, but they have less impact in the game’s outcome for several reasons:
1. 99% of survivors regardless of rank are potatoes that go down within 10 seconds.
2. Very few people can find totems fast.
3. The undying + ruin combination is guaranteed win, especially as you said if you use a moderately strong killer.
There’s no thrill in the matches anymore. You always win. In order to lose as a killer you have to either have zero experience with the killer you’re using or try to lose on purpose.
-

Honestly, i dont mind looping if it wasnt so detrimental to killer gameplay. Gens can be done quickly enough that even small loops can turn a game.
depends on the killer you use. Also, undying + ruin = for they repair 1 gen at most before they all die.

It is an extremely boring combination. As a survivor playing with randoms, you maybe complete 2 gems or break 3 totems before everyone is dead.
As a killer, they never repair more than 1 gen before I kill everyone.
-
Imagine complaining about DS in 2020. When literally killers have been handed crutches nonstop for 3 years straight.
-
Devotion 11 and a bit over 4.000 hours.
-
He is indeed OP. Takes no skill whatsoever, it’s an M1 killer who can teleport, slow down, mind game with fake pallets, hinder survivors speed in several ways, and it’s basically the same as Spirit in the sense that you invest 0 and get 100 as return.
-
I find it normal people dc. It is an extremely boring killer to play against. There’s many others though.
-
it’s beyond me how any killer who knows how to play can complain about it being difficult. It’s literally always a guaranteed win. I literally never lose a killer game in red ranks. Unless I ######### around and want to.
-
... Killer has never been easier than it is today. No, looping isn’t slowly killing anything and anybody who has been playing this game from release knows looping is at its weakest today compared to how it ever was before.
Spirit isn’t an example of a well designed killer. It’s a “get everything for nothing” killer just like Freddy. You don’t need to be good at anything, and get every reward out of it. I’m killing everybody in red ranks before they can repair more than one or two generators. I only struggle a bit more if I unequip Ruin + use a weak killer.
Being a killer is the most boring and easiest it’s ever been before

I would be fine with a token system. Heck, I'd be fine with no distance, but a longer stun for killer if he misses. At least it would be a mind game.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1434889#Comment_1434889
Yes, but the problem with dead hard is you can waste a ton of time before using it. With sb or lithe, you have to use it right away and the killer can break off and find another survivor or kick a gen. With dead hard, you can spend 30 seconds getting them to a dead zone, then bam, they reset the whole chase. So you either commit to another 30 seconds, or you give up and start all over, either way, you just lost the game.
I don't know if y'all are playing dumb, or just don't know how ridiculously powerful this perk is when used right.
But that's just how the perk works. It also has its trade offs. Extremely easy to get hit while you deadhard. Even if you do deadhard they can still lunge. Lithe and other perks also gain much more distance. There'd be literally no point in DH if you gave it tokens or limited it. Might as well remove the perk from the game.
-
The changes were definitely needed. But there are other killers who are way more broken than Billy and take way less skill. Spirit.
Spirit is the prime example of a braindead killer that gets carried into 4king every game.
Such fun. Such mind games. Such balance.
-
I'm 100% convinced many one-side-mains will see no problem with this. And they will be like
"Just hide while he's sprinting for 40 minutes lolz"
The bias.
-
Well, pretty much. Spirit needs zero skill to use effectively. You get the 4k handed to you by the game for free. Even if you're completely incompetent.
-
Yeah, please. Solo survivor is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. It's by far the worst experience you can have in this game.
Many red ranks should not even be rank 20. We need to have 100 ranks and they need to be locked at rank 100 where they belong until they learn how to play the game. If ever.
-
It's a killer crutch. Without it, people who can't play killer would get no kills.
-
You mean "Mr Tunnel you for free and you literally can't get to play"?
Yeah, he needs many changes.
-
There's literally a million counters to Deadhard. "They will make it to the pallet because of Deadhard" Yeah, once. The same can be said about literally any other exhaustion perk.
Now, let's talk about things that have no counter in this game: Good Nurse, any Spirit, Instant-chainsaw addons, Bullshit hits with literally any killer (hopefully this will get better soon).
-
There is little to no counter to Spirit. The more experienced the Spirit is also, the less counter there is. If the Spirit is a regular experienced Spirit player, there is flat out no counter.
How is that fun?
"Use Iron will lolz" There's a million ways Spirit can track you. If she can't hear you moan (Stridor anyone? it kills Iron Will) she can hear your footsteps. If you stop running and just walk, she can just stop phasing around where she lost you and normally find you again.
There is no counter to Spirit.
Nobody wants to play versus something that has no counter.
