  • It is fun because it punishes a way to play Billy that should have never been there to begin with, and builds that should have never existed. I won't see anybody here defending infinites or old BNPS, or removal of bloodlust or removal of window-blocking after 3 vaults. But then, we only care about anihilating whatever doesn't personally benefit us and only us, don't we? Well, here's the thing, we should find middle grounds and not "give me everything the easiest possible way".

How is instant-chainsaw fun? Yeah, for you, because it literally doesn't require any effort or ability whatsoever. The game holds your hand to get a down. You didn't down a survivor, the game literally downs it for you.

How is being able to melee-range follow a survivor around reving the chainsaw infinitely around objects until you down them fun? Yeah, if you want every reward with no effort you will undoubtedly not want to change anything, ever. But the things is, the game isn't here for you, it's here for everyone.

We will have to test and find out how fast the chainsaw should be heated, maybe it needs to be heated more slowly in some situations, faster in others, we need to test and find the sweet spot.

Anybody who defends things like I mentioned earlier, or current Spirit, those people don't want the game to be better or the game to be more fun, they want to have everything handed to them at everybody else's expense.

    @CustomerService you’re joking right?

As a veteran Freddy player I have to speculate that you only went against completely rubbish players then.

The inherent brightness (and high contrast) of the dreamworld has ALWAYS made it close to impossible for survivors to simply crouch by something and not be spotted. Especially true of a sleeping survivor because of that bright blue highlight. MacMillians maps are Freddys best friend. It always made me laugh every time survivors attempt this against Freddy. They’re still attempting this now and then probably wondering why they’re getting hit so easily.

So once again for emphasis, I have to strongly guess you had only been matched with complete potato Freddys if that is something you managed to get away with.

You can disagree and speculate all you want. I’ve played plenty of Freddy at rank 1, hundreds of Freddies as survivor, and I’m devotion 6 with over 3.000 hours. So in terms of experience and been there done that you can hardly get better than that.

Spotting survivors in the dream world could be a ######### nightmare.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/77395/new-freddy-is-boring-as-hell

Why did you even quote me? I mentioned that I read that as 3 hours not 3000 simply because he put it as 3.000 not 3,000.

Never said I was from America either.

    Pssst.

    Yes, you.

I heard each country has their different separators for numbers.

Great Britain and the United States are two of the few places in the world that use a period to indicate the decimal place. Many other countries use a comma instead. The decimal separator is also called the radix character. Likewise, while the U.K. and U.S.

It's also rumored there are countries that don't set English as their default language. But this I'm less inclined to believe.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

@CustomerService how is this any different to how you’d have to handle going against original Freddy?!?!

Original Freddy players with half a brain would be constantly re-putting awake survivors back to sleep again.

Are you trying to have us believe if you were going against original Freddy you would just stay asleep?!

Very differently. Against old Freddy you could hide from him and I've spent many games falling asleep only once or twice by simply crouching at the right moment due to the impaired vision fo the Dream World, or going around corners.

This is unavoidable and thus repetitive and boring. Kinda like the Legion mending thing.

  • @ShrimpTwiggs said:

The devs just can't win can they? Everyone constantly asks them to buff him and rework him, but when they do:

    "He's boring!"

    "I miss the old Freddy!"

Does that imply that any kind of rework they released must be blindly accepted and taken without saying a word, just because they finally decided to rework a killer two years after it was released?

    I do not think so.

Whenever they release a good rework, and not this, I'll be happy.

  • @Liruliniel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/77395/new-freddy-is-boring-as-hell

I read that as 3 hours since it has a period not a comma rofl

Rofl, I can't believe how ignorant those countries using a period for thousands are. It's as if they had their own way of writing numbers, lolz.

  • I personally don't like it. In fact it made me drop the game altogether with how boring it is to play against him.

  • I did not see I required your specific permission to comment on a public forum, I must have overlooked that.

Since I don’t think you’ve got any special privileges to determine who can post and who can’t, I’ll just have to ignore your suggestion and continue posting anything I want wherever I want.

But yeah, I’m hoping they re-work his re-work as it’s pretty dull and monotonous. I’ll definitely keep an eye out on the game’s updates to see if I may pick the game up again in the future.

  • @DixieNormous said:

Not gonna rain on your parade guys, but every game I've played the last two days apart from one has been against Freddy. I've had two people quit the game straight away today alone.

Literally the least amount of enjoyment I've had on this game so far and I've been playing on the PC and now Console for years.

Going to continue playing and see if it gets better!

I know this feeling as I'm experiencing the same. Survivor has been increasingly boring over the few months patch after patch, so I admit I wasn't having a blast with this game already. Today, I played one match as survivor to see the new Freddy and... ugh. I stopped playing survivor, thought if I should play killer... and ended up quitting the game altogether. I'm probably the most bored of the game I've ever been.

  • Not to mention now, the most exciting plays are over. Those matches in which a survivor gets hooked, everyone tries to save them, we achieve it but somebody else gets hooked, we recover and try to rescue the next one, all of that is gone.

In many occasions the end game plays were what kept the matches spicy and interesting, now it's basically..." oh you got hooked when there's only 1 minute left well, since he's going to be camping I guess bad luck. See ya"

  • Precisely what you said. I have yet to play a match in which the killer didn't close the hatch immediately right after it was opened. This needs to change. The last survivor is completely hopeless now so either revert the hatch aspect, or automatically sacrifice the last survivor to spare me the time waste.

But they have their chance out with the Hatch. Why should that chance be permanent?

Because finding the hatch as survivor without being seen is considerably more difficult and dooms most outcomes to be: hatch closed with no way out. Just wait for the sacrifice.

But they have their chance out with the Hatch. Why should that chance be permanent?

Because finding the hatch is considerably more difficult as a survivor without being seen, and the moment it’s closed and the timer starts, it’s pretty much a guaranteed sacrifice.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472153#Comment_472153

BHVR has a very specific definition of "holding the game hostage" that involves the game not being able to end. Trapping someone in the basement while they have an active RBT, for example, does not meet their definition of holding the game hostage.

I wouldn’t report a killer for doing that as I am aware it is not considered griefing. Personally however I find it to be the same. Just like I never blocked anyone in the basement or held the game hostage hiding around, I find this new griefing potential of the End Game Collapse toxic and unnecessary.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472142#Comment_472142

So your suggestion is to have the Endgame Collapse start when there is only one Survivor because then Survivors can just look for the Gate instead of the Hatch.

Why does the Survivor not do that anyways? If the Killer closes the Hatch, they are right there to start opening the Gate. If the Killer just camps by the Hatch, it means the Survivor has time to start 99%ing gens. Either the Survivor finishes the gens and powers the gates to open anyways, the Killer leaves the Hatch open to look for you so you can jump in, or the Killer closes the Hatch and the gates are powered for the Survivor to open.

No. My suggestion is to trigger the end game collapse when there is one survivor left and remove the hatch closing ability so the survivor isn’t trapped and has a way out instead of having none.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472142#Comment_472142

Held hostage for 3 minutes? Every part of that sentence is wrong. It's 4 minutes, and it's not being held hostage if the trial will end. Talk to survivors who've been blocked in the basement for hours and tell them that you're being held hostage when the killer slugs you for 4 minutes.

It’s meant to be 3 minutes if what they said on stream is true. The fact it’s 4 minutes seems to be a mistake. If it’s not, even worse.

And of course it’s being held hostage. If you can do nothing but watch as you are kept there for as long as possible you are being held hostage. That the basement could be exploited to do that forever doesn’t change it’s the same experience even if much shorter.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472116#Comment_472116

A Killer and a Survivor both find the Hatch, but the Killer cannot close it, and the timer has not yet started. How does the Endgame Collapse end the Hatch stand-off in this situation?

As easily as triggering the end game collapse as soon as you are the last survivor standing. It would give the survivor the opportunity to find the hatch or open a gate quickly without being trapped. If he’s found he can hopefully stumble upon the open hatch instead of being slugged or held hostage for 3 minutes with no way out.

  • @TAG said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472112#Comment_472112

The timer does not start until the Hatch is closed. You understand this, correct?

Keep in mind I’m talking about being -the last- survivor. Finding the hatch and closing it when there is one survivor left is really easy. The survivor can not just openly run around to find it or open a gate. Chances are the vast majority of the time you will stumble upon it as the killer within 1 minute easily.

  • @Milo said:

"@CustomerService Yeah... When the killer closes it first.

Will repeat myself. Timer only starts if a gate is openned or a hatch is closed"

Which shouldn’t be allowed since the end game already removes thw possibility of any hatch standoff or stalling.

  • @TAG said:

I ask again: Do you have a better suggestion to prevent the Hatch stand-off?

The hatch standoff is already gone adding a timer. The ability to close the hatch is completely unnecessary.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472098#Comment_472098

If the other killers rewarded skill to the same extent as the Hillbilly and the Nurse, you'd see more variety.

Maybe. Maybe not. In any case that’s completely off topic.

The reality is we have most killers being those 2, most gates being either really close or on permanent sight, and no way out other than waiting to get automatically sacrificed.

  • @Milo said:

@CustomerService I didn't call you any names yet you started to ignore me huh

I replied to you. I don’t know what you mean.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Honestly It’s not that bad as survivor. If you’re certain you are going to be the last survivor in the trial, just presume the killer will find the hatch first. So instead of trying to beeline for the hatch, find and camp one of the exit gates ready for when the killer closes it.

The problem is most killers are Billy and Nurse. And you can watch both gates from the distance in most cases. It’s as easy as paying attention to the red lights and you can instantly be there. Let’s also keep in mind perks like whispers which guantee if you are around a gate they can basically camp the area until found or time runs out. The opportunities for toxic plays this update brings are many.

  • @Chicagopimp2019 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472018#Comment_472018

Its far from a given that the killer finds the hatch first. I cant count the number of times ive had one survivor camp the hatch while the hooked survivor kills themself to force the hatch to open. Ive also had plenty of games where the hatch spawns at the opposite end of the map from me, presumably where the survivors are attempting to hide from me. The ability for a killer to close the hatch and add pressure to the match was long overdue.

The amount of times you can repair only two gens is considerable. Which means you can not previously find the hatch. I play either on my own or with one more person and randoms tend to contribute negatively or not contribute at all towards the objective. The previous hatch was a nice reward for that, and the timer already prevents standoffs.

  • It’s obvious it needs a rework. The question is what kind of rework. I’d say for the time being they need to remove the ability to close the hatch from killers, since they do tend to take ages to fix things.

As a reminder, I’m free to express my opinions just like everyone else, and me and the many like me who dislike some aspects of this update can and must continue to voice it. I particularly don’t see how insults, calling me pathetic or any sort of offensive name counters my arguments. So I’ll ignore those who don’t contribute.

The game is already bad as it is for solo survivors and randoms. We need to give them back the hatch as a reasonable alternative as it was.

  • @Milo said:

@CustomerService That's a revert for the hatch. Oh btw the timer only starts in 2 situations. Exit Gates are open or Hatch is closed.

How would Hatch Stand-off play of then? if killer can't close the hatch?

For exit gates yes i agree that they should have a minimum distance changed or however they work.

No? You can have the hatch AND both gates closed.

The hath stand off is gone from the moment there is a timer.

  • @MysticalMagic92 said:

    @CustomerService

No, as of this moment, the End Game Collapse doesn't need a rework. Listen, when the last survivor is alive, the hatch opens regardless of how many generators are completed. If the killer finds the hatch first, then it's the survivors fault for no finding it earlier. This is how it should be, no hatch stand offs because whoever finds the hatch first wins. If the killer found the hatch first, the killer WON. Being able to open the exit gates shouldn't even be possible, but it is so survivors who failed to escape by the hatch get ANOTHER chance. It's pretty stupid when you think about it. What you're asking for is literally saying, my whole team got destroyed, can I get a free escape? The answer is, you had your chance, if you failed, well that just sucks doesn't it?

It’s pretty much a given the killer will find it first. You have not only to be careful you are not spotted, you have to find the hatch and all of that on a timer. If you happen to find it and it’s already closed, now you have to go from one gate to the other (if you havent been seen yet) with the little time you have left to try to open a gate for 15 seconds which can easily be camped and watched from the distance by any killer. Let’s not even mention Billy or Nurse.

It gives the killer an unreasonably high upper hand. While punishing solos.

  • @Milo said:

@CustomerService And still you didn't say anything that could be done to "rework" it.

Give some ideas. Not just: "it's stoopid"

Something must be hindering your ability to comprehend a text. I gave multiple ideas. One being killers not being able to close the hatch. Another is fixing gate’s spawn locations.

  • @fluffybunny said:

The useless ones usually get the hatch most of the time. Work for the escape. Your team lost, you don't get a free pass 'cause you hid in a closet while the other person actually tried.

I’m the only one repairing the vast majority of the matches. Always find myself having to do everything from repairing gens around the middle (to prevent 3-gen-together situations) to unhooking useless people who go down in a second, to being chased for ages while people crouch in a corner.

The hatch was the only reward I could possibly aspire to in most games with randoms. Now, there is zero incentive for me to touch this game.

That’s why I say, a rework is necessary for the last survivor standing.

  • I said why I dislike it.

Ways to improve it, I don’t see a reason for the killer to be able to close the hatch now that the game stalling is gone and there is a timer. I don’t understand how the gates must be so close together especially with killers that can cover both in an instant. I don’t understand why they can just stomp the hatch and get it closed in half a second.

With the EGC, killers shouldn’t be allowed to close the hatch.
