I don’t find Deathslinger particularly fun, but he’s alright.
There’s much worse: Onis, Freddy, Spirit, Phead.

Go to the killer player's house, and rip off his M2 button, otherwise every time he presses it someone goes down.
Pretty much this.
It’s thrilling isn’t it. Another killer against which your input doesn’t matter.
-
Midwich is indeed the worst map.
Legion is super boring to play against. Spend all match mending over and over. Thrilling.
I prefer Farm maps.
Oni, Spirit, Phead, Freddy are the most annoying and broken killers and should be reworked.
-
Wholesome moments don’t exist in this game.
The most wholesome experience you’ll get is getting punched by a Meg, sandbagged and then have the pallet be dropped on your downed body while they sprint burst away.
-
It is terrible game design. All it does is reward that Claudette that did nothing the whole game, will do nothing, and continues to do nothing while you get chased until the end of time.
Because she’s expecting the hatch. I would remove the hatch out of the game altogether.
You don’t play optimally you die.
Then again, if the death rate now is 80% I’m guessing without the trash bags getting hatch it’d go up to 100%.
-
It will be introduced in 2025 after 50 more dlc releases and multiple Meg hot pants.
-
Nah, I don’t think many people play to have fun. Maybe new players will play for fun, for a while, but this game is a broken, frustrating experience for the most part.
If you play with friends that can be partly mitigated. So I’m guessing a SWF team can have fun.
Solo queue survivors never have fun.

This smells of entitled and butt hurt. If you have a bad game, hit that button to que up for another game.
Experienced players are usually good players... because they have enough experience to make calls during the game that inexperienced players wouldn't know to make. Pyramid Head, Spirit, Freddy, they are all beatable killers, however, the more experience a player has with them and the game in general, the better their chances of getting a 2k - 4k match.
Losing to a killer often can sometimes mean you the player are the the one who needs changing, not the killer.
Playing solo queue that rule doesn’t apply. You can keep hitting that button. Nothing is going to be different.
There are killers who are balanced and it’s fun to play against them, because it could go either way: it depends how you and they play.
With some other killers, your input doesn’t matter. Play as poorly or as optimally as you want, you’re going down anyway.

Nope, not even close. Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Huntress, Billy, Oni, Pyramid Head, Deathslinger and Hag are all easily better than Freddy. He's just super easy and so outshines them all in the hands of a mediocre player.
Phead, Hag, Blight, Oni and Deathslinger above Freddy?
It’s time to go to bed. You’ve had a rough day.
-
Are you actually serious?
Sir, take your medication and go to sleep please.

@MadLordJack said:
The problem is... Well, how? Freddy may be strong, but he's not the top of the roster. Nerfing him would have to be more about making him harder to play than genuinely weaker, similar to what they did to Nurse. Maybe making waking up easier to do/last longer, or making snares slow Freddy down to place so they cannot be spammed.
... But he is pretty much top of the roster.

So that he couldn't just instantly fake then hit. It got a cooldown so you couldn't fake a POTD then hit.
Oh right ! I forgot about that ONE SECOND cooldown!
right! That makes it a completely different situation!

Guy, I really want to trust you, but you can’t survive 65% in red ranks in solo. You have many dcs and kills in first hook. That’s impossible. I made a post asking for killing rate and you can see it’s always 3-4k
-if- he hides all game and then gets hatch it could be possible in theory.

lol.
Didn't say 80, said 60-70. You can look up my steam account. I've hit rank 1 with both Killer and Survivor.
Here's a spreadsheet I did before PH's release. I kept track of stats of 100 games at rank 1 survivor.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LH6hVcnFBQK-xcKd4jxBqYXHDXq9fBKHTD_odgwVV2o/edit?usp=sharing
Ended up with 61% survival rate. And honestly if not for the DCs and suicides, the numbers could've potentially be higher as almost all of them were DCs on first down/suicides on first hook.
Been thinking of doing another one of these but it's such a pain in the ass entering in the numbers after every game.
And you played 100% of those games solo. And you played how, did you hide all game? There’s so many factors here.

I don't know if I agree that they are lying. I play a Killer in the Red Ranks and there are Survivors that I run into that are amazing. There are superstars that I never kill in the match. Not all Red Rank Survivors are this good, just like all Red Rank Killers aren't Otz, Stalky Boi, or Monto types. But there are ones that I firmly believe can boast a 70%. :)
Trust me. “Momentosis” with his kindred, spine chill and head on doesn’t survive 80% of his matches. I can guarantee you that much. Unless Momentosis is rank 16, he doesn’t survive 80% of his solo queue red ranks.
Players like Momentosis lie.

Not long. Literally just 1 second at moving at 3.68 (92% speed).
Damn. This changes things completely. That one second might actually be what we need to completely change this killer’s play style. To turn it upside down. To turn the tables completely.
That one second you get means not only 1 second to react, it means you get 1 second more to either get M1ed or M2ed.
The most profitable 1 second of the history of seconds.

The Spirit and PHead aren't the same in terms of removing survivor agency when in a chase. You cannot truly predict an, as you would say, "experienced" Spirit, and if you do, she can effortlessly correct the mistake. PHead isn't the same. You can tell where he's aiming, and you have a small window to actually avoid his attack. He prevents you from looping like you normally do and require more skill out of the survivor than normal, which triggers many.
As for the tunnelling aspect, yeah that is pretty dumb, but isn't what makes him OP IMO. It's just what makes him extremely annoying. I believe BT should proc on the cages, but I'm fine with DS being countered. Plague is capable of shutting down any healing item and perk, I think it's fine that PHead counters this overused, badly designed perk (which he can still get hit by if people jump in lockers.). So yes, you are correct, he could use a little fix to reduce the tunnel aspect. Beyond that? Maybe you're just not as good at chase as you think you are.
A 1 second cooldown to either get M1ed or M2ed at a window isn’t “requiring skill”. It’s dumb mechanics.

"You use it to reach that pallet or that window that otherwise wouldn't be within reach." That's having a second chance on a loop. Have a nice day.
Or a third, or a fourth.
And remember, you shouldn’t wait for the killer to be about to hit you to use deadhard.
Have a good one Sally.

It used to be so you can fake your attacks with no delay, causing them to either not jump a window or move towards a pallet. Now there is a cooldown.
How long does that supposed cooldown last?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1752807#Comment_1752807
It's a second chance perk. You use it when the killer is about to get you in a loop to make extra distance and get another loop.
Nice sarcasm btw. Are you mad or something?
It’s a second chance perk, or a first chance perk, or a third chance perk. What’s the order of the chance of Self Care or NOED? I don’t know about that.
You use it to reach that pallet or that window that otherwise wouldn’t be within reach. Or to go through a trap. And don’t really need to wait “for something about to happen” really.

@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Using dead hard for distance is actually the optimal way.
To reach a certain looping spot. Not “when he’s about to get you”.

Are you seriously saying Dead Hard for distance is not how you use Dead Hard? LMAO
That is precisely what I’m saying “LMAO”.
Deadhard should be used to reach the new looping spot “LMAO”. You don’t wait for the killer to be close “LMAO” or wait for anything really,”LMAO”.
You, “LMAO”, basically, “LMAO”, don’t use it “when the killer is about to get you LMAO”.

They are not lying. This is a killer forum so you find people with more than 4.000 hours playing rank 20 surv once a week against perk less rank 20,trappers
10-15% should be the escape rate for solos, but this don”t bother devs
This is precisely why they praise each other and pet each other’s heads. They play 2 rank 20 matches a month and they’re like “ooof dud survivers iz 2 ez”
-
@[Deleted User] said:
If you think Dead Hard is useless you haven't been using it correctly. Just press E when the killer is about to get you so you can get to a window or a pallet.
... yeah that is not how you use dead hard.

similar to you. 4K. Very rarely I will 3k.
But that has been the norm for a while now. It’s rare anybody ever survives unless you don’t really try.
it still amazes me how some people have the face to say survivors are the dominating force
-
Everybody tunnels and camps. In every game.
-
All those people saying “I play solo red ranks and I survive 70% of the time! 80% of the time!”
Yeah no. About a 20% of the time sounds legit. They’re basically lying.
I’d say just go with the meta, but the main points are learn the map and how to properly loop each different spot.

@valvarez4 said:
Kill rate was over 65% before undiying, and that include swf. Can”t imagine a reason why this perk in on the game.
In a couple months it will be at 120% rate. We are going to have to include a fifth survivor in. We’ll be owing kills at that point.

thats because you play vs bad survivors
when i use the combo my ruin is gone in 1 minute or they cleanse all normal totems and then its gone aswell
it literary takes 1 perk out of 16 or 1 item to take down this combo
That's 99'99999999999% of survivors in the game.

Why Not just pick them up and eat it? At least in early game, I prefer to just eat it and get it out of the way.
Ofcourse as a Spirit main, I'm just going catch em again in 6 seconds, I could see slugging on slower killers tho.
I like to see these posts of Spirit players who openly admit Spirit will catch you in 6 seconds regardless of the skill or ability of those in play. It -is- a great and balanced killer indeed.
It’s still true though, well said.

I couldn't tell you; I don't run it. I did briefly but found I didn't get a reliable enough return on it. Some people swear by it and there are some SWF that have it always as part of their combo. I can tell you as a Killer I just have a little timer on my desk and I hit it the second the person becomes unhooked so I know when I can pick them up again. :)
It is far better to have reliable teammates (Solo or SWF) than it is to have that Perk in my humble opinion.
I respect all you had to say, just a small note: “Reliable teammates” and “Solo” are mutually exclusive. You can’t have both in the same equation.

The only real reason could be the frame drops we get all the time.Unfortunately we don't have any control about situations like these:
I’m not saying it’s necessarily their fault. It’s like pc players who own bad or mediocre computers. I suppose that also has an impact in your performance. Is that their fault? I guess not.
But regardless of whose fault it is, it affects me as a player and it affects my experience because this is a team based, cooperative game. So I choose to not ruin my experience even further playing with console players.

I really dont understand how he needs no investment from me as you do have to play smart with freddy especially in snare placements, map knowledge, tile knowledge, survivors normal routing etc he needs your knowledge of the game to be very effective.
His mobility is tied to uncompleted gens so his mobility gets weaker as the game progresses as gens will get done so he has less places to teleport to as long as the survivors (not freddy) dont 3 gens themselves also if the survivors manage their time in the dream world it means he waiting longer for his teleport, also less chances of them worrying about the snares or pallets.
Also have you played spirit ? she is not easy at all even with stridor and surround headphones you still need to be able distiguish sound distance and estimate where survivors are i played against those kind of spirits yeah they are challenging but i can still outplay them from time to time and even escape them.
so i strongly disagree with the whole notion that freddy requires no investment as its not true he does require your investment to be effective and that goes for every single killer they need your investment to be effective
You need two things to play effectively either Spirit or Freddy:
1. Ears. Don’t make me laugh with the estimate distance and try to overcomplicate things that are simple, I can get into how my body works with every muscle inside of me to keep my breathing going... and honestly it’s an automatic process, I don’t need to be skilled to breathe.
“There’s this whole art of estimating the precise location of a moaning Claudette to your right next to a pallet...” yeah no.
2. Map knowledge. But that’s for everyone and everything. You need map knowledge to pay any killer and any survivor. That’s not something specific to Freddy or Spirit.
So no. You really need nothing special to play those two killers, and that’s why they’re the most lethal: They require no skill to play, the margin for error is minimal, they’re extremely easy to understand and get used to, and they get every reward for no investment.

I'm well aware of that but that still doesn't explain why console players are supposed to be more incompetent than PC players.
I guess it’s the use of the controller. Or that they’re newer in the game. Or they experience some technical difficulties. I can’t say for sure. But personal experience has taught me over the course of thousands of matches console player = danger.
I turned off cross-play when playing survivor (as a killer it’s instant win) upon release.
-
@valvarez4 said:
Because devs wanted 2k on average but these forum full of killers made them changed this to 3k, and the tears and complaiments didn’t stop, so probably we will end with 4k on average
It has been a mixture of several things. Streamers and famous youtubers made it “cool” to make videos bullying killers and humiliating them out of existence. Word spread and it became a running joke that killers were afraid of survivors and not the other way around.
As time went on, a succession of heavy nerfs have been hitting survivors nonstop since release, together with broken and easy to play killers. At this point, playing solo queue with random survivors is painful.
The only way to play with competent people is going into a SWF squad that you know you can rely on.

I just disagree with our opinion that console players are supposedly bad at the game.
I've seen enough survivors from PC as well that play absolutely horrible
We have to clarify something first: 99% of survivors are incompetent. Have you ever played solo queue ? Have you seen death rates? Yeah.
So, starting from there, console players are usually even more incompetent than Pc players. But that doesn’t mean PC players are good. They are incompetent as well.

You don’t get help. If you are in a survive with friends team, you must call out for help. Otherwise bring Unbreakable+tenacity/Soul guard and get yourself up. If you are playing with randoms go get a snack because you are dead.
-
Let’s clarify for people who are a bit confused about this game: survivors used to be the power role and the dominant force in 2016 and 2017. Survivors haven’t been the dominant force for 3 years now.

Iam a freddy main so maybe a bit bais here but i find him very engaging and interactive in terms of playing him and against him cause
When i play against him he forces me to play differently and be more aware of my surroundings i can't treat freddy like a normal m1 killer especially if im in the dream world as thats a guarentree hook for me then. I also have to manage my time in the dream world and when its a safe time to get out of the dream world. He keeps me on my toes and i have to think what my plan where i find a vast majority of other killers its always the same tactic run to loop a and loop a number of times drop pallet and move to loop b. With freddy its like im at loop a oh hes placing traps i have to move to loop b do i have time can i make it take a risk or im at loop a ahh he thought of that loop i ran into a trap with already placed snares well played freddy let see if i can get out of it.
Also the passive sleep that fits in with the lore of him as freddy doesnt force them into the dream world he let the survivors( in film) do that by trying to stay awake as long as possible so they naturally go into the dream world and to the point where the body is so tired it forces you to sleep so the passive sleep makes sense and fits in his lore nicely
While playing as freddy i have to figure out snares placements predict survivors movement most likely areas that survivors run to prepare snares for them so i dont waste time setting up also manage my teleports as there will be times i have no info on which gens survivors are at so i have to guess.
Overall i find freddy more engaging and challenging which forces me to adpat and play differently which is great for the game as lets be honest if every killer has the same counters which some survivors want would it be a fun game for you as killer or survivor? but fun is subjective but i do hope you can see why i find freddy fun, engaging and interactive and why i believe freddy doesnt need a nerf , buff or changes to his base kit again only excepetion is the z block as that add on is really bad haha
I’ll give you an A for effort trying to make Freddy seem like this very tactical and complex killer that requires you to completely change your play style and have this complicated thought processes to place 1 snare around a loop.
But... yeah no. Freddy is the strongest easiest killer even ahead of Spirit in simplicity that requires no investment from your part and allows you to wreck through competent survivors that would otherwise outplay you.
He definitely needs to be looked at and nerfed. He’s got crazy mobility with the teleport, insane passives, crazy mind games with fake pallets, huge slow downs with snares... he’s got basically a everything with no investment.
