Hmmmm... I'm more inclined for old Trickster, though the only issue he had really was that he had no reason to leave the hook...
He has slow map traversal at 4.4, and he was far better off getting close to popping his Main Event as he downed someone, then simply camp the hook, hit knives on the trade and Main Event one or both players down. I'd not make him 4.6m/s myself, but instead address this camping aspect of him.
Something like giving him an excitement mechanic when he downs or hooks a survivor. This could be a temporary haste boost while not in chase, based on his current Main Event charges, then have it so after so long not hitting knives on survivors, his Main Event slowly decreases in charges as Trickster gets bored.
This would encourage him to leave hook and go charge up/spend his ult while he has the charges on hand, solving his map traversal issues and giving him a pretty strong reason to leave hook for more victims.
Extra props if his TR or Lullaby gets more bombastic with more layers as he gets more and more charges.
I like this idea

There's plenty of ways to do so, but here's a start.
- Unnerf Medkits
- Finisher Mori can't be activated unless the survivor is on death hook and they're the last in trial. (Which isn't always the case.)
- If a killer is Camping a slugged player, increase their recovery speed by 30%. ( At least till they're at least 40 meters out of range, so no TR camping.)
I can't say I speak for everyone, but I know that Nerfing the Self-healing of Medkits was NOT a good change. Finisher Moris should never be guaranteed, I still don't know why they added this, it only incentivized slugging WAYYYY more.
And slugging is self-explanatory. No, i did not say give Survivors base kit Unbreakable, I just said to increase their recovery speed.
Of course, all of these are opinionated and subjective, but at least I came with ideas. Those all buff SWF as well

100% True.
i think that Ruin should be 150%, personally.
But yeah, Eruption, Call of Brine, Dying Light, these are much more in need of buffs
Agreed, except I posted that in another threat and got like 10 down votes from salty survivors

Cause killers only use those which are busted.
Only use ones that actually do something. There's a reason nobody uses ruin anymore

With survivors almost never having anti-tunnel perks, what this mode shows more than anything is that tunnelling is overpowered (from a live balance perspective).
If you are struggling as killer in this mode, I suggest you try tunnelling. Whatever you are doing when the first survivor you hooked gets unhooked, drop it and go back there to chase after that survivor. You will win most of your matches that way as long as you are not completely outmatched skill-wise or mess up big-time.
Tunnelling is already optimal strategy even in the regular mode, and once someone actively employs it it's usually a wake-up call as to how potent killers really are. It completely changes the dynamic of the game, especially of course once in that 3v1.
Except I don't like tunneling in events:( but if I have to I suppose

Thanks for the information.
4 Flashlights one game, 3 BNPs the next, 2 syringes and 1 sabo box and 1 bnp….

They need to put:
Ruin at 175% regression speed,
COB and OC at 150%
Pop back to flat 20%
Pain Res back to flat 20%
Buff basekit regression

I don't think the current state of the game can hold an 200% Ruin effect. Maybe 125 or 150% at max but ruin is fine for me the way it is now.
If they are going to buff regression, other gen perks could be buffed, like Eruption or Surge.
Current state of game needs more gen regression to counter speeds. It's insane how fast gens go rn
-
I tried playing Leatherface, Ghostface, and Clown….. It sucked ass. tons of flashlights and BNPS. Really shows how bad most killers are and how badly needed gen perks are.
-
Honestly it's a mix of tribalism, influence from Content creators, bad experiences, and weaponization of game mechanics

High MMR without a high mobility or zoning killer is asking for agony.

Why are the survivor’s inputs much more important than the killers? Both sides have to do things that require precise timing. With your solution, the Huntress will throw the hatchet at a survivor, have it appear to be an hit, and then have no hit register. That’s not fair either.
When someone has a high ping, the timings get thrown off and we have to decide which side gets the “benefit of the doubt” when action timings are not aligned. The only solution is to minimize the timing lag on both sides, which means enforcing ping limits in lobbies.
Just throwing this out there as well - I’ve had many instances of hitting survivors at pallets, game shows blood splatter and survivor screams( making me think I got a hit), and then no hit registers and I get stunned instead. It’s not just survivors that are suffering from the high ping problem.
You are correct
-
Maybe don't punish killers for having low ping then
-
I like this tbh

The only people I see who are saying it's a positive change are killer players who play on console, because that "tech" isn't available unless you have mnk.
Are these survivors in the room with us right now? This just feels like unnecessary "us vs them".
Those survivors are mostly in the downvotes and reddit

Hey man. Been maining Pig and Sadako for literal years now. Not everyone takes the easiest way to win and thats good so.
Edit: been through the Pig nerfs btw…
I mean I main doctor so I'm there too. I'm just pointing out how survivors will be happy when a killer loses ways to express skill then complain about how all they face is nurse and blight
-
Survivors when a killers skill expression is taken away
:D
Survivors when those killer players switch to nurse/blight
}:(
Let Oni keep his 180 damn
-
Reasons I've gotten from survivors who go next:
The dark Lord is boring
The legion is boring
The nurse is boring
The demogorgon sucks
I don't like Chucky
Skill check doctor is sad
You sniped me as hillbilly
You grabbed me as wraith
Plague is annoying
Pinhead is annoying
You had corrupt intervention
Map offering was negated
Someone was instadowned
Blight is boring
New freddy is op
Basement was at shack
Clown scares me too much (justifiable)
Another survivor had no mither
You had Franklins
You slugged so I couldn't flashlight save.
Can probably find more examples besides.
-
I miss the days when brutal strength was a good perk
-
Buff other killers to be strong and competitive and you will see less nurses and blights

why wouldn't I go after the person who already has a hook state?
Well, with anti-tunnel, you will have a reason.
That's kinda entitled
-
At the very least they could double the amount of perks in the shrine. Maybe halve the costs
-
Some brain rot stuff nobody else wants
-
"dear God"
-
The roadmap gives 1! Thing to killer.
Meanwhile survivors get like 5 things. There is no telling how much this could screw up the killer experience
-
I'm wondering why killers don't have a surrender option if like 3 gens pop before a hook
-
Zombie AI improvements
-
I think it could be a nice add on. Like 3 dashes but each one is like 33% of normal range
-
How about buff hooking for killers and nerf survivor hook perks
-
Ok, but you have to admit the pogo zombies are funny
-
This event is lame. And people are just bringing meta stuff. Had a 3bnp game earlier...

You know, sometimes I wish that survivors were given more buffs, but for a slightly different reason. I've been in this game for a long time and remember all sorts of things. I want a repeat of 2020, when the ranking system changed. Then the killers showed that they were worth taking into account. That was the only time when actions replaced words. Now killers are more inclined to talk and use what's left of the tactics.
Ask me why? All the lobbies looked like this. There were so few killers that it wasn't even funny. This, by the way, is the reason why we don't have exact rank numbers. I remember your messages about ranks, where the issue was raised that this introduces misunderstandings between survivors and killers. This is one of the reasons. Someone always has to remember history.
Thanks for reminding me of that nightmarish time period

The issue is people like you, taking a side
You don't really get to point that finger at anyone else when you spent multiple days sulking and copypasting your drivel of how 'they want killers to just be playthings'.
not the game balance and design that created this meta
No, and you know why?
Because this was always there. Slugging did not get addressed in all this time. Killers opted to start slugging when hooks got +10 seconds in compensation for the 6.1 gen repair nerf.
Despite the +10 seconds being effectively irrelevant to any killer that isn't camping, this was seen as some kind of big green light to start slugging. This is an inconsequential nerf to the class that is statistically doing far better than its opponents, and it sent folks into a frenzy.
Whether you like it or not, killer IS the bully role. Unless you can wrestle up a very competent 4-man squad on comms, If you want to ruin someone's day, you play killer.
Your solution, as is the solution of every forum killer, is to just keep buffing killers more and more and more, until some indeterminate point is reached where the game is 'balanced' in the eyes of the forum killer. But even in that case, should any killer threaten to lose, they can still opt to use these tactics so long as they remain untouched. And in addition, if a killer isn't interested in winning and just wants to be a spoilsport, they can still opt to use these tactics so long as they remain untouched.
They are problems and should be dealt with. And if these methods are the lynchpins that are creating a facade of balance, then it'll be better for killers in the long run if it gets ripped off, because then BHVR will actually have to give the buffs you're demanding.
But as it stands, killers have been demanding every problem they complain about.
You are being disingenuous. It's a total of 80 seconds extra hook states
-

This is a perfect example of the issue with this forums.
No one cares to ask WHY slugging became a thing.
It’s all about the need to nerf killers somehow, without some sort of core mechanics balancing.
Slugging is a thing because they have added so many perks, add ons and items to counter hooks.
There’s a plethora of survivor perks that give second chances, get more health stages, trade hooks etc.
They feel the need to nerf every chase perk and killers good in chase till they become trash.
They made generators fly with perks and op items. They basically nerfed every regression perk till they became “meh” at best.
Then proceed to blame players who enjoy killer with non approved community strats to win.
So instead of asking why, and check what’s possible to achieve with a decent group of survivors, they just label killers as toxic, proceed to create more OP perks to soft patch complaints and keep destroying viable killers.
The full killer roster has 3 strong ones, few decent and a lot completely weak and underpowered, but emotions from survivors are more important than core issues with the game.
Killers are supposed to be a gimmicky npc chasing survivors for their amusement with no possibility to actually win vs survivors with half decent skill.
Community in this forums is always fast on judging the player side, never making accountable the game balance. Strategies emerge from core design, not from players wanting to be “mean”.So yeah OP, they will add base skit unbreakable, along with implementing some buffs like what we saw in 2vs8 and nerf middle of the ground killers till they become weak by all standards. GG.
Then all the killer mains leave and play another game

@Objectively_speaking said:
The problem is quite simple. Chase perks on the killer side have gotten nerfed consistently <STBFL> with some never even making it into the game before getting nerfed <coup de grace>. Hook timers got extended literally one hundred and forty seconds <two unique hooks>, vs two hundred and forty <slugging>. Hook perks also continue to get nerfed, <pop, pain resonance, BBQ bp removed>
Sure hooking seems good, till you realize that if you slug only a handful of perks <rarely picked> counter it as a strategy <Unbreakable, exponential, soul guard, wglf, Botany or healing perks>. Whereas hooking can be countered easily basekit <Flashlight save, pallet save, Toolbox> and is punished if survivors have perks to punish it <power struggle, saboteur, Decisive strike, OTR, BT, Babysitter, Guardian, Breakout, Deliverance, wicked, etc.>
All you need to see is how much hooking is punished, sure it can help you tunnel, but if the end result is a death, either way why would you risk it. Also, why the punishment for poor survivor gameplay <basekit unbreakable>, you can always force the killer to pick you up by going into a locker. Survivors can also choose where to die.
Tldr Hooking is significantly more risky than slugging, but survivors can always pick where they can be slugged, even taking just exponential would allow a survivor team to comeback or going into a locker would force them to pick you up. Still, I would be in favor of a faster bleed out that would allow players slugged for fifty seconds to bleedout faster.
This is the truth
-
Is this the new thing survivors are complaining about? Really? Hexes?????
-
Ah yes, that won't make things Sweatier at all

The numbers speak for the slug.
We have 22 perks that should motivate playing hooks, but most of them were nerfed or are not strong enough. I wrote about them in more detail in my thread. The developers are clearly hinting to killer players that they should not play in spreading hooks.
While the slug counters 26 perks, 2 items and quality of life buffs for the survivor on the hook (10 seconds, anti-facecamp, etc.). We really live in crazy times, where hooks are beneficial to the survivor side.
As you can see below, many of these perks are in the meta. Which is a huge advantage in the confrontation with the survivor side.
Camping and Tunneling
Dead Hard, Off the Record, Decisive Strike
Defense
Babysitter, Borrowed Time, Breakdown, Deliverance, Kindred, Reassurance, Resurgence, Second Wind, We'll Make It, Wicked, Fast Track, Blood Rush, Slippery Meat, Camaraderie
Transportation
Boil Over, Breakout, Power Struggle, Flip-Flop
Lantern Assault
Background Player, Flashbang, Champion of Light, Residual Manifest
Toolbox Assault
Saboteur
It also follows that you can unload your builds. By choosing other perks that can work better in slugging.
At the moment, killers have 127 perks, but by choosing the slugging tactic, you will no longer have to worry about 48 perks related to totems, transportation, obsession and hooks. This allows you to focus on the other 79 perks that will help in the slug business. Even at a quick glance, you can notice interesting combinations. That same useless Thanatophobia acquires a completely different value when playing slug. You will find many such examples.
The list is not complete and at the moment is only a sketch. Since I am in the process of searching and testing various slug builds. Each killers needs its own slug build.
Four perks of a true slug player
Knock Out, Infectious Fright, Forced Hesitation, Deerstalker
Passive Slow
Surge, Thanatophobia, Deadlock, Merciless Storm
Search
Deathbound, Spies from the Shadows, Darkness Revealed
Other
Languid Touch, Ultimate Weapon, Batteries Included, Unforeseen, Trail of Torment
The funny thing about this whole situation is the reluctance of survivors to adapt. Anything that makes survivors not follow the m1 and shift+w doctrine is met with fierce resistance. Survivors can already resist slug. The perks written below are proof of this.
Boon: Exponential, Buckle Up, Plot Twist, Soul Guard, Unbreakable, We're Gonna Live Forever, No Mither
For the People, Tenacity, Made for This
Teamwork: Collective Stealth, Teamwork: Power of Two, Blood Pact
Well put
-
Slugging is more efficient than hooking

You need to make either all classes able to pick themselves up, make self recovery in dying state 200% or remove Billy's instant down or overcharge. Slugging is a major problem in 2v8.
You want to stop slugging? The devs should not punish killers for hooking
-
They need to hotfix the gen speed buffs out and only have the slow part in the event
-
Solution, slug them and let them all bleed out
-
The gen rates are bullshit. I'm going to have to tunnel and slug as nurse or billy

Played my first game. Holy ######### is that gen speed nasty
