I have changed my playstyle. The forums taught me to be more selfish/stealthy because the survivor players make it clear they don't care about their soloq randoms and killers think everyone is a swf so they don't care if they tunnel you out at 5 gens. π
I care very much about my teammates β€οΈ
I use "We'll Make It' and at least once every two weeks, I'll trade hooks during endgame so they can live and I be the sacrifice.
There's something about saving a teammate at the last moment so they can survive that is unlike any other feeling.
I remember playing as Nancy on Springwood and a Hillbilly tortured poor Feng Min the whole match, slugging her over and over.
I had been hooked twice and was determined to save her in endgame and I did.
The Hillbilly turned the opposite direction for just a moment and I saved her. I was slugged, knew I was going to die, but getting to see the aura of the rest of your SoloQ escape is so worth it.

Ive just been using a Backpack Build for fun (Iron Grasp, Agitation, Mad Grit, etc.).
Early today, I had a game with 4 Distortion users who didnt bring the Event Offering and spent most of the match hiding, was a 40 minute match and I hardly found any players. Past a certain point I kind of just pulled out my phone and browsed Twitter since the match was taking too long.
Once all the Generators were done, the spammed notifications near the Exit Gates and did the usual "watch me leave" stuff you can expect. In the post-game chat, they all started to attack me since I "couldnt find a Survivors without crutch aura reading perks" and that I "should learn to find Survivors without the game holding my hand"β¦ I had no aura reading perks tho?
Oh yea, cannot forget about the 4x "-rep" on my Steam account.
None of this is to say that "only Survivors can do bad things", I think both sides are capable of doing things that are generally agreed "distasteful" by the wider community; but since the Anniversary attracts a lot of players to the game, it will also attract a lot of bad actors, as with any DBD event.
May I ask what you use for a good 4th perk in a backpack build?
I have been coming against bully squads a lot lately so I use it with Lightborn.

As survivor in my own games ill say team mates been way more toxic than killers. Even had a few killers feel bad for what im having to put up with.
That was my experience last night a few times.
A few months ago, it was just me as Ada and a Mikela on 1st hook with one gen left and since I had 'We'll Make It', I unhooked her and started healing her when she spam crouched.
Wraith showed up and Mikela signals him to go for me (it would have been my 3rd hook).
I just looked at them both. The Wraith looked at her and downed her. He took her right back to the same hook, hooked her and spun left to right rapidly.
Wraith then came over to me and we watched together as she went through 2nd stage, fighting the whole way.
We then walked to shack where I thanked him and he gave me hatch.

I maybe considering to test a perk because of this, but i've NEVER changed my playstyle as a killer or as a survivor because someone disliked it.
Think that its more a BHVR problem that some problematic perks exist more than players problems. The thing is that we as community need to give honest and proper feedback about the game balance so the devs have a clearer path to change the game.
I'm currently avoiding the FD + Weave combo because of the Survivor frustrations.
I would you suggest you to use this build. It only works on M1 killers and only have value on high mobility killer like the Wraith. I've been testing and facing this combo and i think its very fair and has plenty of counters in the survivor side.
My Killers are all considered M1 I think.
- Freddy
- Myers
- Trapper
- Wraith
I'm currently practicing with the following but I just end up using their basic attack most of the time and haven't won a match yet, not even a 2K most times:
- Huntress
- Hillbilly
- Wesker
- The Knight

Well like I said, I find it pretty funny to get insulted! xDDD
It's just a sign that they can't loose well for me, so I don't have a problem with it xD
Does anyone ever just congratulate you on the win without being sarcastic? Also, is there ever nasty comments between the Survivors? Do they fight in chat about each other's perks and playstyle?

@Pulsar said:
Not usually.
When I first joined DBD, I came here to learn.
Now I find myself without those who taught me, so I try to educate through arguments.
Don't leave because you're one of my favorites.
-
@KatsuhxP said:
Nope, I only change my playstyle after my own experiences. In my experience no survivor will ever thank you for not tunneling and camping and probably insult you if you loose, so I just do it if I get the chance and I don't care what survivors say to that.
I even find it funny when they insult me, it's mostly people playing sweaty/sweaty builds themself or entire swfs xD
The one thing that Nintendo Switch has going for it is that we have no end game chat or communication. I suppose putting up with insults and nasty people would have a significant impact on me too.

I thought for sure you'd use it as Survivor since you find it detrimental to yourself when Killer.

Just an FYI, there was a recent change on the Offering/game info screen where it's now randomised. So it used to show who brought what offering but now its in random order. I don't know why they did this and didn't advertise it because I've seen heaps of people saying they didn't realize and have been targeting people who don't bring Cobbler only to see afterward that they did. I was BM'd like mad in one game, and a survivor saw and I guess figured the killer had good reason to do so cos they joined in (reported both), and only thing I could think was that they assumed I was the one who brought the map offering (per the info page).
This is correct and I wish it had been formally announced.

I would like the Survivors items to be slightly smaller.
I think they're a tad too big and I enjoy seeing the Survivor I'm playing and those toolboxes and medkits just look too big and take up more visual space than necessary.
They are probably the size of the heads of the Survivors.
That's my small thing.

Remove distortion right meow! π€
I can't. There's too many aura reading builds on Killers.
I never see more than one other teammate use it per SoloQ match. 9 times out of 10 I'm the only one who has it.
Therefore, I must keep my aura hidden so I can rescue everyone.
It's insane that I max out my aulturism points almost every match, even though I know the team is cooked π³ the second we load in and I hear the dreaded sound of a token instantly gone.
If it's LP, it's just me rescuing people and the team is dead at 4 generators, occasionally 5.
I never see LP without at least 2 other aura perks.
Also, the first person down often tries to go next instantly. Even if I manage to get to them, they will make it to 2nd stage and the game is over for everyone.

I just talked with someone who thinks Deathslinger MOVES TO FASTπ Most people wont see where you're coming from because they don't play those killers enough. She definitely isn't viable against strong teams but like you said FAst killers are really the only ones who do. I always bring this up but no one listens, she has one of the lowest kill rates at general mmr and one of the l.owest at high mmr too. Both her and slinger need changes.
Thank god you're alive. I was worried because it's been like 4 days since you've uploaded a video excited about Wall hack perks.
I'm sure one is on the way! Don't forget to mention "an extra 2 seconds with Lethal"

I have not played in a week due to some personal issues. I load into my first match in a whileβ¦
I can't handle her. Just seeing π her running down the hall as I'm being unhooked is terrifying...
Literally the Scariest Killer in this game, on this map but even worse on dead dawg Saloon where she blends in with Literally everything π
I'm pointing to all of you who use stealth and do not use the Distressing perk! Stop βοΈ
You know not how this Killer jump scares me!

the lightbringer challenge is really dumb due to how it is calculated. The way you get it is by amount of time that you sit on generator. You don't want to bring repair speed perks or anything. you just want to sit on a gen for roughly 3 gens of equal progressiong(270 gen charges).
I suggest bringing the most jacked-up med-kit with the most jacked-up healing perks. Run like Botany knowledge+Build to last+We''ll make it. Unhook survivors that get hooked, instantly heal them with your Purple med-kit with 200% healing speed and don't ever engage in the chase with the killer. Just sit on gens until your team dies. If you finish 3-4 gens on your own while your team suicides/dies to the killer, you will get iri lightbringer.
The challenge is also easier if killer bring 4 regression perks like ruin, pain res, pop etc. because you get more time to m1 gens. The more killer regresses gens, the more time you can sit on gens to get lightbringer.
I got this done with Prove Thyself, Deja Vu and Resilience. I don't know how it's calculated but I couldn't get it until I added Prove Thyself and Deja Vu.

Ngl, jumpscares do bring back the feeling of DBD in 2016-2018 though. π
Hell, I got 7k hours and running into Mandy or Myers still gives me the jumps. lol And it's difficult to find this place as the Pig Den is isolated off the coast of an abandoned Island that the company visits to give us the slop of changes before retreating off the island. We really tying to stay healthy with the slop given. π· You'll find that we are a wholesome community of Pig enthusiasts looking for ways to allow Pig to venture out into the world and just relax/chill, talk of anything new; strategy-wise of anything of the sort. *oink Welcome to our humble Den. We expect boops as an entry fee, though. So PAY UP!π½β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦β¦ please? πBeep the snoot!

@radiantHero23 How the hell did I not know there was a Pig Main thread hidden in off-topic?
I still haven't read any posts as I'm scared of what I may find...
I can't function when she's the Killer, it's embarrassing as a P100 Nancy being all scared after 5,115 hours in this game.

It could be a more experienced player trying to teach a newbie, much more likely a backfill due to lobby dodging. I tend to slug them if found again, and kill them last if possible.
If you're going to play as the Pig, just kill them in the game asap so they don't have to put up with her stealth. π€

Distortion needs a BUFF.
OR, Killer aura perks need tokens as well.
BBQ, Nowhere to Hide, nurse calling, there's more. They need tokens too.
Unlimited knowledge of where everyone is all the time is ridiculous.
Distortion becomes irrelevant at some point during the match, but the Killer can see everyone right up to endgame with an all aura build that includes Bitter Murmur .
I constantly argue with a friend of mine who plays both roles as I do. He rage quits anytime he's found first because he won't run Distortion.
He also refuses to play killer without LP.

Meanwhile killer is like 2-3x that much. Same as every year.
Don't get me wrong the event items are nice but I would rather if either the cake rate is increased or just add extra mandatory slot for survivors for event item to appear in bloodweb.
Cakes are the far most key items to collect imo. And the fact that not only the Killer role earns more BP in general for each match but also gets way more cakes is not fair.
It is fair. Killers have no event items like Survivors do. In Addition, the bloodpoints from any cakes they get are shared with any Survivors they play against.

Without grind lots of people would play for fun.
If you have people playing for fun, they are gonna quit the game pretty fast because it's just not fun. Grinding it's what keeps the game alive.
This sounds ridiculous but is true.
My favorite game is Friday the 13th: The Game and I quit last summer when they unlocked every perk for everyone because the hackers were messing with their database servers.
Even though I had maximized my level to 150 within a month and a half of the Switch release, I always would play to earn more customization points to roll better stats on my perks.
Now, with the game being shutdown at the end of this year, I can barely bring myself to play once every couple months.
OP is also correct that the grind here in DbD is too much! It's way too much! It needs to be reworked, especially as more ASYM Horror competitions come to the market.
-
I swear these perks on both sides are just getting to be too much.
My only fear of this game ever dying is it being oversaturated and collapsing under the weight of all the perks.
Cote mentioned in an interview recently they can't test all combos before release as there are so many perks.
And they are just going to keep adding 3 per character.
We need a quality of life update and skip a chapter or two even.

Overpicked.
Pain Res will stay, because its something that gives you a help by doing your main objective. Its kinda like when Survivors finish a gen, they get a 10% Speed-Buff for 60sec at the next gen. Thats how PR kinda works. Thats why its good.Lets be honest: You simple cannot rely on the weakest Hex:Ruin ever, the weak Call of Brine or the "over-cooldown" Oppression.
What? Survivors get a 10% speed buff at the next gen after completing one? This is a thing?

"As I say in the title, this event is more made for killers, this game has never been so murderous before, it is too difficult to escape at least 2 games of 20 moves, not only me but the statistics shared by BHVR say so of 60% murderer against a 35/40 survivor, and now the event objects for example speed now make the murderers super broken apart from the fact that they were already broken before now it is completely unplayable, I have 4000 hours in and it doesn't seem to me That this is balanced as they say BHVR is, unfortunately every day this game becomes more complicated and more murderous, A SHAME"
Thank you for the translation π
