Another fantastic suggestion that would actually solve a lot of core issues and problems. Let's throw potatoes at him, make illogical arguments for why this wouldnt work, then spend all our time complaining how there arent enough flavorful feng min skins that we wanna use and get 800 upvotes on the post.
Don't worry, I've already shelved that idea along with my karate uniform and my electric guitar.
*old guys like me will understand*

Overcooked is awesome! we play it too, just got to get the last 3* doneon the campfire cook off DLC for the 2nd game and thats 100% trophy out.
We also play 7 days to die, fallout 76, gore and death ing ames didnt bother her that much, losing didnt either, it was more just being killed within a few mins because some killers spotted she was new by how she played at first and would down and face camp her as fast as they could, maybe cos she was claudette?
Idk, she plays other games and she does like DBD, its just the frustrations and attitudes of some players got her so riled the game stopped being fun
Overcooked rocks, man. That's a fact.
Yes there is a lot of griefing in this game. Unfortunately that's something that hasn't changed and people even get vocal against any suggestions. I've asked a lot of times in this forums to balance around ranking brackets, determine rankings around total playtime as each role - and thus eliminate deranking - and that way let new players face only new players as them (or the occasional smurf too, but on a new account and without the full perk array and loadout of a veteran player).
But a lot of people defend their precious rank resets, deranking practices and matchmaking exploits (such as swf with low ranks, to face low rank killers). The experience you get as a new player in this game is rough, there's no denying that.

It's part and parcel with online gaming unfortunately. You need to have a really thick skin at times and if not then it's really something not worth subjecting yourself too.
I think stopping playing is probably for the best as it's obviously gotten to the stage where enough is enough.
One thing to keep in mind is if it's in the game camping, tunnelling, being slugged, looping, certain perks, taking hits etc it's fair game. Personally not likening them is one thing but none of it is bad behaviour or toxic that only happens after a game in chats.
PVP games are notorious for having bad communities. It never used to be that way originally but over the years it became a way for people to troll others and act like they probably don't have the balls to in real life.
At the end if the say something derogatory I do feel a bit sorry for them as they must not get much satisfaction from real life. It's kind of sad and I blame a big part of it on how online gaming changed players.
When I grew up we played in a room with all our friends taking turns and having a laugh in between or having lan parties at friends houses. Now people sit alone in a room with a headset on. Times have changed and along with that so did some people's attitudes.
I hope you find a game that suits you better and this situation becomes a distant memory for you.
This right here. Indeed I had to turn texting off and I even blocked all friend requests because of this game. I play it only because I'm a fan of horror flicks, but that's it.
So, to the OP of this thread, yes there are a lot of games with a healthier and friendlier environment. Hopefully you find lots of those games, if you consider pursuing this hobby for a long time.

The fact of the matter I was pointing out they are both base 115 and not even comparable in terms of map pressure and chase pressure. Since Huntress is mid-tier between them both a slight nerf and buff to 115% to compensate would keep her mid-tier. There is no need for drastic change. Therefore Base 115% for all killers being a balance line for speed does not break the game any. Therefore any above slight nerfs to a killer gaining 115% is uncalled for. Legion, is different his mechanic made downing quicker than nurse. Not only that if he couldn't land more hits they always bled out. It simply was two broken mechanics they made beyond too weak since the reasoning of their existence to begin with was foolish. There was no realistic way to balance old legion without letting these exploits exist.
I'm with you, man. I feel some reasonable decisions COULD be made.
But I'm not so sure about wanting to know the difference between our expectations and the devs' reality.
And since she's my favorite character, I really just don't want a change of identity (Freddy) or a complete obliteration of her power just to be able to loop faster. Endless chasing people around loops like a zombie is something I already DON'T do, with any killer, actually.

She played it to play with friends, they have all just about left for the same reason. For all the ppl here that made comments along lines of shes not a fan of the game etc:-
She only started playing this year, she's a nice person and tried as killer and survivor to play without being toxic, she just wanted to have fun but the way most play this game these days has really gotten to her, out of the 2 of us I am the one thats been here a while (about 2 month before Freddy was added).
Its how she feels and I know plenty others that feel the same and have stopped playing, hell some of the best players I know in DBD have cut back on stopped playing atm because they are sick of the "win at all costs" mentality, as a Killer or survivor, win or lose like me she did not care about that, what she hated was ppl running entire flashlight squads and them going after her, random survivors with BOND running killers onto her in order to save themselves, being that person who saves anyone on the hook and then being left to die as soon as she is hooked. Those that DC as soon as a game starts etc.
We were both in a round together just ater the anniversary event ended, there were 4 Gateux in play and the killer quit as soon as they lost ruin 3 mins in, its stuff like that that gets up most players noses when its almost constant gameplay action for her.
She quit playing a while back, but missed our friends that play it and to an extent the game itself but then the bullshit started back up and yep shes deleted again.
She wont be back, the acts of other players have made her hate the game itself.
Now the more ppl that act onlong thelines of "Haaaaa GIT GUD etc" think what happens over time as this behavior continues, I have already seen players saying they dont care about the lock out for DCing when it comes into effect, they will still quit whenever its a Freddy or GF or whatever killer it is they never learned to deal with.
As a killer once she saw 3ppl quit in the game within a few mins leaving on Feng min on her own, so she let that person go because she felt bad for them, but they both got points.
If you call yourselves true fans of the game think how much damage over time the toxic bullshit is doing to the games rep, less youtubers are covering the game now that I used to watch purely for the DBD footage, they have had enough themselves and quit.
Prob my last post on this because whats the point? More of the community will go one about how its her fault without ever considering a game is supposed to be fun, what fun is it to be ######### over by your teamamates or a raging murder boner killer that sees 4 or 5 BPS for example and then runs the game down in a few mins, no one gets any points, they feel like they have wasted the offerings and they get fed up. It builds up over time I could see this coming, out of the 2 of us, she is the calmer person but she snapped because of how ppl in theis gaming community act.
PVP does not actually bother her, its what she percieves as unfair or no fun gaming, like me she has a job and has limited time for recreation, she no longer enjoys the game so shes binned it
Oh and the devs/mods/whatever, the amount of posts I see complaining about this kind of thing from her OP, you think you would react faster. I know you have a team workng on a new game, way things are going, the rep this toxic ######### is building up, your sales of the new game on release could be affected by the fact ppl remember how fed up they got here in DBD and wont give the next game a chance.
To have a nice, intense, entertaining, 100% friendly and funny experience when playing with a friend, we play Overcooked. Seriously. And I'm a grown man, been here since the days of the Atari 2600. When we want some mission-type game, we play Monster Hunter.
Any game that involves killing other human players will draw the most ruthless behaviour from most of the playerbase. In this kind of games it's unrealistic to expect people giving hugs, holding hands and singing La-la-lá.
This game features chainsawing a guy in half and eating the guts of some chick, do you realize that? It's not rude to suggest finding another kind of game with another kind of playerbase.

Look at Trapper that is base 115 vs Billy that is base 115.
Tell me how they are similar in balance? They simply are not.
That's exactly my point, why would I want another Trapper in the game? Knowing already that the devs will butcher her in exchange for the ultra super powerful 115%.
And I even like Trapper.
But she won't look like trapper after a rework, she'll look like that abomination that some people call "killer" named Legion or something.

See, this where we need to acknowledge that this is a mis-balance issue on the devs side. Killers want killers to be stronger, survivors want a chance, however, nobody wants to meet in the middle. A hatchet, and a slight cooldown between throws for 115% is balanced. The killer stays mid-tier and we can see how rework of maps treats her. It would be a Quality of Life change.
I don't know man. I really don't believe in Santa anymore.
I guess I feel I'm doing decently enough on most maps (except Haddonfield and Lery's of course), so I keep my "faster wind-up, more lockers, stolen tippy-toes idea" stance, instead of watching her turn into another 115% with a ton of drawbacks.
-

I do not advocate for overpowerable mechanics. I play huntress enough to tell you if she had base 115% she could take a slight nerf. As I suggested a single hatchet loss. That or a slightly longer cooldown between throws.
I kind of agree with you, but being realistic, they won't trade 1 single hatchet for 115%, I already know that.
They will Legion the crap out of her if they give her the "almighty" 115%, which would turn her into a useless killer. They will add cooldowns, take 3 hatchets away, and give her a stun and a blackout after every throw.

I've been downed by NOED in the exit gate zones a couple of times. I waited by the far gate as I knew the killer knew where the hatch was and would get there before me. Just managed to get the gate open when the killer got there and boom. Death to NOED...
Well at that point survivors failed to do gens and failed to cleanse totems. Two failures don't result in a reward, normally.
And while this thread has nothing to do with NOED, I've been thinking about the option of making survivors immune to the "exposed" status if they cleansed 3 totems on their own. They will take 2 hits (as normal) to be put on the dying state.
That will help solo survivors that acknowledge cleansing totems as a legit objective.

I think we would see similar to billy rev behind you with huntress hatchets. A balance nerf would need to be tested as well.
No nerfs please.
What about keeping her normal 110% ms but increasing her hatchet wind-up moving speed to 100%?
-
When gens weren't done, I've done this and it has worked like 60% of the time:
Right before the 3rd guy gets hooked (and assuming it's death hook), I'll run towards an exit gate, so the killer picks me up with BBQ while "trying to open" the gate.
Then I'll urban evade around that gate and make a decision: if the killer got there lightning quick and the gates weren't powered, he didn't close the hatch - so I'll run and look for it.
If the gates have power it means there's no hatch any more, so I'll urban evade away looking for the other gate.
It's a coin flip still, but I have escaped a fair share of times.
-
I don't see it happening. Because they would nerf her in some ridiculous way to "compensate".
Better buff her via adding lockers to every map.
And there was a suggestion some time ago (sorry for not remembering who had the idea), to let her stand on the tip of her toes to throw over some of those nasty waist high obstacles, pressing the secondary ability button/key. I found that idea quite interesting, really.
-
From a killer POV, gen and survivor auras should be the same color always though.

If a 100% legal in-game item will settle the score with bug exploiters, I'm all in.

I have 67 ebony mories on my P0 Huntress alone. Add 40 something on each: Billy, Bubba, Trapper, Myers, and 20+ on each Wraith, Nurse, Doc and Spirit.

I dont think anyone here appreciates your unhelpful pessimistic views. Online gaming is fun and you should not suggest her to avoid online gaming because she points out very valid truths about dbd, aka bottom of the online gaming totem pole and we all know it. You should keep it to yourself in the future because no ones asking for your advice on whether to play this or not. This forum, after over 3 years of development with almost no progress towards fixing the core issues of their 1 game mode, needs more real player posts like this. And less pathetic suck ups that would rather say good riddance to the player rather than admit this games endless faults. Admit that a multitude of people quit this game regularly and never come back, instead of wearing a mask that the player base has been consistent. Look how many new players there are recently... so why isnt the player base going up? Everyone that plays is new, because once you get enough hours you become fed up with the inconsistency within the game code and you eventually quit. It's a cycle every time they release a new licensed killer, an entire fan base erupts because they enjoy the theme of that killer (I only got this game because I wanted to play as amanda the pig since I love saw movies). Eventually experiencing the lag, switching, tunneling, camping, dcing, broken lobby's, sandbagging teamates, pallets not working, models breaking, teleporting over maps, never getting hit then dying, having question Mark's over your head when the killer swings at a window then you get teleported back into the window, realizing reporting is just an autoban system with no appeals, you watch a Dbd stream and see how little the devs understand their own game, how they conduct themselves with such narcissism. You need to stop living in fairytale land where we think they did a pretty good job so far. Wake up and give the feedback the devs need to hear to fix this mountain of issues. Stop putting sprinkles on it. It's been 3 ######### years and they've made mountains of cash. For a game I love, it's hard to say it but its time to earn your stay dbd team because open your eyes, the game has been dying, and new killer every 3 months isnt enough life support to keep it going.
Well it's a PVP-only "horror" game about killing and surviving, which are mutually exclusive. There are knives, machetes, chainsaws, swords, hatchets, rusty meat hooks, pallets and flashlights involved. Draw your own conclusions about what kind of crowd this game attracts.
I expect everyone to do whatever is within their reach to accomplish their objective, which will generally piss off the other side. That's the reality of this game.
-
I agree with OP, and I just want to comment that we've been asking for this for a long time now. We have a thread in the wishlist that has been active for a whole year, asking for the possibility to select aura colors and adjust their brightness.
Hopefully they finally consider adding these options to the game.
Edit:Typo

just avoid the question and cherry pick what constitutes "evidence" and what doesn't, classic
i watched the video and saw an "experienced" nurse player using busted addons, losing people mid chase because his tracking was off, whiffing blinks (even messing up blinks while not in chase), spending extended periods of time looking for people in dead zones rather than patrolling gens, and getting punished for all of these mistakes
the title for this video should be "how to not play against immersed survivors 101" rather than "how to counter nurse 101". like i said in a previous post, this video is the outcome of him playing poorly, not the survivors playing especially well. and this isn't a dig against tru3, i actually do think he's a good killer player, but this points out a huge issue with how a lot of people on this forum digest information; watching this video uncritically and proclaiming it as evidence that stealth "works" but denouncing tofu's video as fallacious and cherry picked. the generators didn't even go quickly in this video (how could they? he was against 3 people), he just spent a lot of time floating around doing nothing. once again, nothing against tru3, but the fact that he propped this game up as an example of how to counterplay nurse instead of an example of him just playing badly kind of reinforces the notion that you guys should probably consume his content a little more critically
survivors cannot both stay constantly hidden and do generators. especially as a killer who can go from no terror radius to directly next to you in a second, there's really no excuse for doing this poorly, especially when you're running 3 tracking perks. patrol gens enough and you'll find people (who will proceed to go down in a matter of a few seconds), don't spend time looking for people who are actively hiding from you, and "stealth" turns into "pointless inaction" really quickly
not sure there's much to be gained from explaining this to somebody who thinks looping is devoid of skill but hiding in a corner is an act of gaming excellence but here we are
I literally answered the question, but it's ok, I'm cool with it. I never said that hiding is an amazing feat of excellence, but instead an effective way to play under certain circumstances. But, I don't even care any more, for real.
Tell you what, how about we proceed to ignore each other from now on, since you completely disregard what I have to say and I completely disregard whatever you say, too. No one is gaining anything from this kind of pointless mess. So, farewell.

Regarding the videos, any videos. Yes of course, they can all be used to analyze and draw conclusions out of them, and hopefully they would all involve highly skilled players from both sides.
I actually don't know why don't all these guys playing as a job challenge each other, that way the devs would have a more solid ground from which they can make more accurate decisions regarding high level play.

People like you have always been asking for evidence that stealth works against her. What other evidence you want, if not a video proving exactly that?
If not for the instantly disconnecting chump playing Kate in that game, I'd say it would have been a 1k at the most. 3 guys did 5 gens with an experienced nurse breathing on their necks all the time.
Maybe more people should try that playstyle against her, I don't know.
Or maybe I'm wrong and running in circles is the most exciting thing in the world.
-
@Zertix said:
Looping a skilled killer takes no skill? With all due respect, this is the most absurd thing I have read in a while. I am pretty sure this is what you try to convince your self in order to feel better after being looped for 5 gens.
You guys keep pushing the devs to nerf one role while overlooking the other role. Killer queue times are already longer than they used to be and no amount of BPS would fix that. The day will come when you guys will sit in lobby simulators for ever and nobody joining in. At that moment I would say "You have made your bed, now lie in it".
This is going to be my last reply in this thread because I don't think this discussion is going to lead to anything productive.
At all, man. My playstyle is based around intercepting people, injuring and letting escape, very rarely I engage in chases around stuff (especially waist high) like a robot, because I already know what happens when a killer not named Sally or Rin does that, and because I find it incredibly dumb.
Besides, the only ones talking about nerfs are you guys, I didn't even mention nerfing anything about any role.
PS4 queues are good for me at least, back to normal. It actually takes longer to get a lobby as survivor, so I don't know where you're going with this.

stealth and completing objectives are antithetical
stealthing mid chase is impossible even with perks if the killer doesn't mess up
stealth is not feasible against good killers ever and if it works it's on the killer, not the survivors, especially with how many tracking perks exist
the idea that a nurse who spots you should be able to down you essentially for free because your "stealth" failed is so hysterically flawed it's crazy to me how many people have managed to buy into it
Well, you've made up your mind already, even in the face of evidence.
No point discussing any further.

Nope, it's always been that way, otherwise it's just too easy staying behind a waist high barrier and being invincible.
That said, Haddonfield is a horrible map and needs a rework at least.

@Zertix said:
Thank you for sharing the video
I am not going to give any comments on the skill level of the survivors or killer in this video. But I will say that hiding from nurse is not a counterplay; It is just .... hiding so that you don't have to deal with her.
Yes you can spread out, do the objective as quick as possible and pray that you don't get found but this is not countering the nurse. It is exactly the opposite which is avoiding her.
"AVOIDING HER IS NOT A COUNTER PLAY"
As a survivor, I don't want to feel helpless and that my skill and all the hours that I dedicated for this game mean nothing. I didn't play survivor for thousands of hours to hold M1 and hide behind a rock (this get very boring after playing the game for several hours). I play for the interaction between the survivor and the killer and this is what keep me coming back to play more. A killer that force me to hide behind a rock and hold M1 removes all the fun from the game.
On the other hand, have you played the game for thousands of hours just to run around stuff like in an old timey cartoon?
Granted is, if you run 3 loops around every pallet and then drop it, the game will be over before dropping all of them. What skill are you talking about?
Using stealth is the way to not get slaughtered with this killer. Thankfully at least there's an alternative to looping stuff like a mindless drone.
Not getting killed and surviving the trial is actually countering a killer and preventing him/her of doing their job.
All that said, it's a general opinion that her addons need a rework.

Lockers won't help her when a survivor runs around a wall of vehicles and it takes her literally 3 minutes to even be in a chase with them because 110 speed.
Would prefer they just made her 115 speed. It helps her with going to lockers to reload. It helps her not get cucked by map RNG nearly as much. A directional lullaby is more than enough for survivors to get a damn good head start if she has 115 speed. And finally, she won't be able to get infinite'd on some of worst loops in the game like Autohaven's Workshop, Groaning Storehouse, etc.
You're right, I overlooked the 115 point. But I really don't see them giving it to her, unluckily.
About those long car walls, I've just learned to chase someone else, basically. No point in wasting that much time for a single hit.

Playing solo always, so Alert does the trick for me from the survivor side.

They had active RBT on their heads while I opened the exit gates because they 99%'d them. Pig is the only killer who can open the Exit Gates without losing pressure, assuming multiple survivors have active RBT on them.
What I'd do is trap a bunch of survivors when there's 1 generator remaining, then when they pop it, I'll open the Exit Gates so they will have to worry about 2 death timers.
@NMCKE that's some valuable info right there. Thanks for the insight.
-
As a Huntress player on 50% of my matches, I'd prefer to revert it and be directional again. Makes no sense to have it the way it is now.
And also, they've almost muted it when you're playing as her. You can barely notice it. I don't know, but I think the lullaby gave her personality.
Bring it back to what it was.
Buff her via adding lockers instead.

"his blinks are on point, chases are quick" .. lol no, atleast not in this game. thats average nurse gameplay and ofc he only gets 2 kills in a 3vs1 if hes searching for minutes in an area without survivors just because the gen is ~70% and also missing a couple of blinks in the chase
Yes, searching for minutes. Meaning survivors were actually good at hiding, and they were definitely around. Those gens didn't get done on their own.
But this is exactly what happens whenever a video is put out as evidence for survivors countering the nurse.
"He didn't play well" "That's just average gameplay" etc etc

The answer to Nurse is stealth. Iron Will, Spine Chill, Dead Hard, or Urban Evasion all work excellent on the Nurse. The Nurse cant chase you, if she cant see or hear you. Its pretty ######### simple.
This right here. 3 guys did all 5 gens against a good player.
A lot of people are asking for evidence, well here it is. And I'm sure there's more like it.
Just because some people say stealth is boring doesn't mean it isn't effective.

Duh. Lose the chase, so you can hear.

Wrong Sidney, it's Sydney here.
Good to know how to spell it correctly. All maps in spanish spell it with an "i" for some reason.
Thanks for correcting it.

I play Huntress and I can barely hear my own lullaby.
I'd 100% raise the volume of the humming in exchange of lowering the ear blasting music.

I like getting spirit fury hits 4 - 5 times in this map. But what about Temple of purgation? I think it's even worse palletwise

I can see where u coming from because EXACTLY this happens to me aswell quite often. But see it from that perspective: u r already dominating the ######### out of them, whats gonna DS change? Not much.
Unless it happens in the endgame, where the combined effects of DS and BT will give you invincible survivors here and there.
Having DS active even after hooking 2 other people is dumb. But whatever

Let's get some writing classes instead

Why would killers want to play a killer that is literally a bunch of survivors with knives.
