Taking Victor hostage is already not a thing, since you can recall Victor after pouncing on a healthy survivor after a little bit of time.

Sure they can't hold him forever, but being able to keep the killer from having any power for 30 seconds is still significant. Sure they're not doing anything during that time, but the killer should have the choice on if they want to use their power that or if they'd rather use it for a chase.

  • I kinda like that idea honestly. It fits thematically, and if old balanced tells us anything, reducing stagger can be a powerful effect, one that could likely be kept in check if the numbers aren't too high.

Trickster would unironically make for a great villain in some Korean horror movie.

He is dbd's own Patrick Bateman and the people who disregard him solely for his appearance or that he's related to Kpop are the same people who probably wouldn't suspect him of being a psychopathic murder.

That's honestly a really good point right there. When he first came out I didnt think he looked particularly intimidating compared to the rest of the cast. With his lore, that does make a lot of sense though, he's not supposed to be intimidating he's supposed to be someone you wouldn't expect to be a murderer.

And I would absolutely watch a movie about the trickster. Here's to hoping the dbd movie could have something to do with that.

  • Meet Your Maker is coming out soon. I played both betas and the game is very fun. Just because a company doesn't balance one of the hardest game genres to balance (asymetricals) perfectly, that doesn't mean they won't be successful in other endeavors.

  • I kinda gravitate towards characters I can relate to/see myself in.

For killer I play a lot of deathslinger cause Im a little bit of a southern boy and, like him, my real name is Caleb.

For survivor I play Jeff cause the dude looks a lot like me. I also like the same general area of music as him. Im not a metalhead, but I do enjoy it from time to time, and I'm really big on rock music.

  • Killer has a lot of Niche perks, but I believe there are only 8 killer perks that are truly bad. For the most part, these are ones that are actively detrimental to you, are reliant on survivors doing certain things, or provide potentially useless bonuses.

Coup De Grace: Can actually make your chases take longer, cause you want to save your tokens for when you need them, making you walk all the way up to the survivor to hit them.

Claustrophobia: I can count the number of times this has helped me on one hand. Extremely map dependent, requires you to lose generators, and a few seconds of running is all it takes to leave it's effective zone.

Forced Penance: Requires survivors to bodyblock for you to get use out of this. Unlike mad grit, does not really prevent bodyblocking from happening. Broken is a status effect with debatable usefulness anyways. If a survivor is not healing, they're going to work on objectives because what the hell else can they do?

Gearhead: First of all, it's reliant on skill checks, which is a famously inconsistent requirement. Secondly, the survivors must be hitting great skill checks specifically. Lastly, you could miss the intel this gives you entirely. Sometimes the aura of gens blocks the aura of the survivor you're trying to see, and it doesn't even give you a noise notification when it procs.

Insidious: As a killer you always want to be on the move. Also, survivors can tell when a terror radius suddenly drops to 0, which alerts them that something's up. Really only good for camping, and at that point you've basically lost anyways if the survivors play well.

Predator: An actively detrimental perk. Can cause you to miss scratch marks that would have appeared on a wall.

Territorial Imperative: Typically if you're hooking someone in the basement you want to stay relatively close to basement anyways, and this requires you to go away from basement. And even if you're playing a killer that can actually capitalize on the information it provides, you're now chasing someone near basement, which pretty much always has a strong structure of some sort near it, whether that's shack or main building.

Unrelenting: Why are you missing basic attacks in the first place fivehead?

  • So your complaint is that people who play often and to win get matched together, and people who play once a week get matched together?

You are complaining that the matchmaking system works as intended?

    Ok dude.

  • I'm not gonna lie, I dodge lobbies often. I work from 6 am to 2:30 pm and drive 45 minutes both ways. I don't want to get home from a long day of work just to put up with complete bs. If I have the slightest position a match is going to have some whack stuff, I dodge.

I know dbd isn't exactly a game to de-stress with, but I like to play the games I like after work y'know?

  • I love the idea behind this killer, but the execution was...flawed

  • I'm pretty sure the devs have commented on having teleports at the start of match and why they won't do it. And that was before lethal.

  • I enjoy playing him at times, but I never really enjoy playing against him. For whatever reason whenever I play with friends and face a knight, that knight is not a pleasant person. Lots of hard tunneling, occasional face camping, and frequent BM.

  • Actually getting scared in dbd again is pretty fun imo.

  • Sometimes I forget I'm running a mori and see the symbol after Ive already hit space to pick them up by pure instinct. Then I go, "well while I have them, may as well bring them somewhere the mori is more visible"

This is a 4v1 game. Why are you bringing up 1v1? It’s like you’re grasping to justify the nerf to deathslinger

The quicker you end that 1v1 the quicker you can move on and put pressure on others

  • Deathslinger was not nerfed into the ground, he's still a solid option.

  • I made friends with a twitch streamer once when she went against me while I was running a meme Legion backpack build.

The results are the same. More bullshit for Killers to deal with. No thanks.

Bring me good balanced perks, Perks I dont have to see every game. Thanks.

"Good balanced" and "Fun" can exist at the same time. I don't know why everyone here seems to think that for a perk to be fun it has to be grossly overpowered.

  • How are "buff all exhaustion perks" and "make new exhaustion perks that are fun" the same thing?

  • @solarjin1 said:

if u nerf dh then tunneling will be even easier.

did you read the post at all? like any bit of it whatsoever? Like, at least the title?

  • @Emeal said:

No. dont bring all Exhaustion perks to Dead Hards level, hammer dead hard down instead.

I'm not saying to buff any other perks at all. I'm talking about the introduction of new perks entirely. Something that's not just "do x to get speed boost", something more interactive and fun to use.

  • Never thought I'd see the day Distortion is being called for a nerf. My boy finally made it, almost brings a tear to my eye.

  • Some killers can do fine without slowdown. Myers is not one of those killers. His power takes time to build up, so on him specifically buying yourself more time is a must.

  • I like this idea. Giving Dark Theory more speed boosts outside of just movement speed would definitely make it more useful.

  • Kinda like it tbh, makes the match a whole lot more laid back for me.

  • This sounds fun!

Assuming that we're making up these things and you're coming up with how they work, here's my suggestions:

    Perk: Pins and Needles

    Item: Video Camera

    Killer: The Rot

I hope you are a troll and i just fell for the bait

    you can't be serious

You think 10 seconds of aura reading on the nurse (more if you bring lethal) wouldnt be strong for nurse?

  • BAD2THEBONE.gif

Greatly looking forward to doing this in Dead By Daylight

  • tt.PNG

Possibly a two part power. We get to see a more fleshed out version of the skull, but what is that thing below it? Some sort of transmitter or something? Possibly a trap?

  • I dont know what the hell is going on here, but I am VERY interested.

A chain hunt does not stop the moment you hit a survivor where as a guard disappears the moment you hit a survivor.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3339940#Comment_3339940

    Cool story bro.

The activation for these two events are completely different so they're really not equivalent. A guard can be plopped out at basically any moment, while a chain hunt takes an entire minute to activate, assuming no one solves the lament configuration. Of course something that takes a whole minute to activate, if at all, would go away after a single hit is scored.

Also there's the fact that chains don't deal damage, unlike the guards. The guards go away after a hit so you're not scoring two hits back to back, resulting in an instadown. You can still kinda pull this off anyways though by bodyblocking a survivor, allowing your guard to hit them and then hitting them yourself. And if you're not in a scenario where you can pull this off, you hitting the survivor would just give them a speed boost that will allow them to outrun your guard, so it essentially wouldn't even matter if your guard didn't disappear.

  • Pinheads chains do go away when you hit a survivor affected by chains.

You shouldn't be chasing alongside your guards anyways, you want to sandwich survivors between them and yourself.

It really doesn't take long at all. And it kinda makes sense that something that would result in someone being chased by two people at once wouldn't be an instant activation.

  • I think it would be kinda funny if this chapter ended up being a Meet Your Maker chapter. The open beta is going on right now, maybe BHVR might try to promote their new game by tying a new chapter into it.

  • Several past competitors with DBD have shown that having the ability to physically harm/defeat the killer is kinda a death sentence. No killing the killer, please.

  • Honestly, it's so tiring. And there's always a huge uptick in these kinds of posts whenever there's an update.

  • What? No. I'm not even going to elaborate on this one, just no.

  • @Blueberry said:

Hard disagree. Base kit Unbreakable would have been one of the worst changes they've ever made.

Killers leaving survivors on the ground to bleed out is nearly a non-existent thing, like .1% of matches. Can't even remember that last time that's happened in a year. There are also tons of anti-slug perks available if it's actually happening that much.

If you don't want to left on the ground when it's only 2 survivors left then get rid of the free hatch escape, that's the only reason they're doing it.

Im with you on everything except removing hatch. I'd rather a survivor escape through hatch than have to deal with super long matches because the last person has to hide the very second they hear a TR to stand a chance of escaping.

  • Overcome is fine, it's probably the most consistently activatable exhaustion perk in the game. Unless youre facing a plague or someone with exposed, you're guaranteed to get value of it. The same can't be said for lithe, balanced, dead hard, smash hit, and certainly not head on. The only exhaustion perk that's more consistent is Sprint Burst, but if you want to make sure you're using it when you actually need it, you have to walk everywhere.

  • @Ithiria said:

    I hate dead hard

But I have to admit. Killers would seriously regret it if Dead Hard got thrown in the trash and everyone switched to Sprint burst and Lithe.

I would take Lithe and Sprint burst over DH any day. On killers with any sort of mobility, Sprint Burst and Lithe aren't that big of an issue.

  • Freddy's current state is definitely really sad, he has the worst of everything in the game.

    Worst slowdown

    Worst teleportation

    Worst anti-loop

    Worst stealth.

I bet somehow they could give him a ranged attack and it would be the worst one in the game.

  • Usually its because for one reason or another, I recognize that I need a kill NOW in order to keep things under control.

  • Oh absolutely. I was really excited for his release, because I had wanted a killer with a power that involved limiting survivor visibility for a long time, and I'm still really happy that's finally in the game. His visual design is absolutely wild too.

    1. The Maze Runner: Not something anyone really associates with horror or something anyone else wants to see in here I'm sure, but I think its one of my favorite books it would be cool. The Dredge's existance makes me feel better about the idea of a killer like The Greaver existing in the game, and the glade could make for an interesting map. I always remember the portion of the book where the walls don't close and the greavers pick off the gladers one by one at night, and that sounds like a pretty horror-like thing to me. I feel like Thomas and Theresa's telepathy could make for some decently interesting perks.
    2. The Last of Us: I would love to have the opportunity to play as/against a clicker. I honestly think theyre one of the coolest versions of zombies to be made in basically all of gaming. So many human characters could make for excellent survivors too. Joel, Ellie, Tommy, Dina. The fact that a show for it came out recently makes me feel pretty optimistic about its potential to make it in.
    3. Hotline Miami: Again, not really a horror thing, but the characters you play as kill enough people to qualify as a slasher for sure. The idea of different masks granting you different powers could be really fun. Obviously my main choice for the killer would be Jacket. For survivors, I think either Evan Wright or Beard could make for cool survivors. A nightclub map could be an interesting setting, and would finally give us a thematically appropriate map for trickster while we're at it.
  • There it is, our weekly "x side got too many buffs" post.

  • The reason dragon's grip isn't meta is because it sucks. An 80 second cooldown whether or not it actually triggers successfully? Yeah, it's just not worth using most of the time.

  • I originally said yes to afk but no to lockers, but I've kinda changed my mind to no for both. Both of these kinda communicate the same thing: your teammate is doing nothing right now, which is already shown by a lack of an icon.

  • Unitology is essentially a direct upgrade to Potential Energy. With Unitology you still get to make progress on a gen while charging it up and you have no chance of losing its charge. This would be straight up broken. 25% instant progress greatly outweighs 20 seconds of broken.

  • Of the two I strongly prefer deathslinger, as I think he's more versatile. He can reload at any time so he doesnt have to break chase to reload. His deep wound provides small amounts of slowdown if you do hit and run stuff with him. The fact that he reels survivors in makes him a very unique ranged killer in the fact that he can actually benefit from exposure perks and other perks that benefit from basic hits. Also the fact that you drag survivors in means they make less distance on you when you land a hit on them.

  • I have come up with another batch of 3 musicians I like and what their perks would be.

    image.png

Kele Okereke: Bloc Party + Solo Work

Kele Okereke's unique perks Hunting For Witches, The Other Side and The New Rules help him provide information, make his tools last longer and work on generators faster.

Hunting For Witches: You refuse to let wrongdoings go unnoticed. When a survivor is hit by the killer’s basic or special attack within 24/28/32 meters of you, the killer’s aura is revealed to all survivors for 6 seconds.

“I go hunting for witches, heads are going to roll”

The Other Side: You believe that upheaval brings revival, and enjoy it. Whenever you are hooked, your item regains 50% of its charges. When a survivor other than you is hooked, your item regains 10%/15%/20% of its charges.

“With change comes the opportunity for rebirth, which is my favorite kind of experience”

The New Rules: You’re not afraid to experiment. While working on a generator, press the active ability button to activate The New Rules. While The New Rules you gain a 10% boost to repair speed, but you face constant difficult skill checks with no great skill check zones. Missing a skill check will apply an additional regression penalty of 7%/6%/5%.

“I’m learning to be laid back about things”

    image.png

    Yannis Philippakis: Foals

Yannis's unique perks The Runner, Mountain at My Gates and Into The Surf help him overcome great challenges and hard times.

The Runner: Even when you fall down, you must keep on running. The Runner starts with 2 tokens. Whenever you would be put from the healthy state into the dying state, a token is consumed and you instead enter the injured state. When a token is consumed, an 8/10/12 second countdown begins. At the end of this countdown, you enter the dying state.

“Shadow, see how far I go

Step by step I'll keep it up, I won't slow, I gotta go”

    Mountain At My Gates:

You face seemingly insurmountable obstacles head on.

For every generator remaining in the trial that needs to be repaired, gain a 1% boost to repair speed. Once all generators have been repaired, gain a 6%/8%/10% boost to Exit Gate opening speed for each generator you completed.

“I see a mountain in my way

It's looming larger by the day

I see a darkness in my fate

I'll drive my car without the brakes”

    Into The Surf:

A death away from your homeland is a tragedy that must be avoided at all costs. Every time you are hooked, Into The Surf gains a token. Every token you possess grants a permanent 3%/3.5%/4% boost to movement speed.

“And if I don't make it home

Wrap the jasmine round my bones

    A blood moon for me

    A garland in the sea”

    image.png

Maynard James Keenan: Tool + A Perfect Circle + Puscifer

Maynard's unique perks Reflection, Pushit and The Outsider help him aid his teammates, slow the killer and remain hidden.

    Reflection:

You like to stay in the back and let others take the spotlight. While you are hooked, all other survivors gain an 8%/9%/10% boost to action speed.

    “I may find comfort here

I may find peace within the emptiness

    How pitiful”

Pushit: You are highly trained in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu. Whenever you stun the killer by any means, the killer suffers from a 5%/6%/7% hindered penalty for 5 seconds, starting after the stun ends.

“Who am I to judge or strike you down?

But you're pushing and shoving me”

The Outsider: You are often described as a bit of a recluse. Every 30 seconds you are not within 24 meters of another survivor or the killer, TBN gains a token, up to a maximum of 6/7/8. Every token you possess reduces the brightness of your scratch marks by 10% and makes scratch marks fade .5 seconds sooner. Taking damage by any means will cause you to lose 2 tokens.

    “Help me if you can

    It's just that this

Is not the way I'm wired, so”

1 … 7 8 9 10 11 … 28
