Imo a printer shouldn't be able to generate another EMP until the previous EMP from that printer gets used. So there can never be more than 4 EMPs in play at a time. Singularity's direct strength is fine, his counterplay is just too effective and too easy to spam. It's too easy for survivors to snowball and shut down his power compared to how difficult it can be to build up and maintain pressure with him.

That is true. The frustration also comes from the fact you have to put much more effort in other to keep up with them just grabing free EMPs left and right to counter you with simply holding the button for few seconds.

  • @totallynotamegmain said:

Maybe the solution is to remove Emps all together? The killers who have direct mechanics to counter them are usually the weakest or least fun to play. The downside would be that they remove the invincibility maybe 🤔

I think EMPs have space in his kit to prevent gen camping and just making chases super easy if you could always TP on everyone at all times.

However, maybe there should be just 3 boxes or the boxes auto printing should stop on like 75% so Survivors HAVE to spend few seconds to get a EMP. Or you could keep them as they are but only make it it removes one splitstream from the user and not from all members within the radius (the best buff).

  • How to make a Killer power that is popular among the majority of playerbase:

    • Their power is easy to understand and is not complicated to use in effective way (You trow hatched to do damage, you dash to grab people, you go fast and pinball from stuff you colide with, etc.)
    • The power doesn't allow Survivors to directly counter it (EMPs, Locking Lockers for Dredge, etc.)
    • The overall power level is strong (A tier idealy or S tier)
    • Their power is fun to use and there is skill floor to master and get better at the powers (Huntress, Wesker, Nurse, ...)
    • Their controls are not limited to just PC users (Hard to use on console)
  • For fun to play as, Wesker by a mile wins for me. His power is not only feels great when you hit Survivors (smashing and trowing Survivors on stuff is awesome) but also feels less clunky to play.

Pyramid Head might be better than him if you are rly good and you can land your M2 shots very offten and his tunneling is even better than Weskers, however I almost never play him because he is so clunky to use with that M2 and I feel like there is always some devil sitting on my shoulder telling me "YES, TORMENTED SURVIVOR, TUNNEL THEM!" even tho I tell myself I will try to not do it this match. Also he doesn't have cool edgy voice lines with Wesker. They both have great chase music tho (Wesker still has better imo).

  • Me: Plays the match seriously and plays the most effective way: camp and tunnel whenever I find it worth it, gets 3-4K

Survivors: Bruh tunneling camper, why you play like this, etc.

Also me: Chooses to play meme build or wants to give everyone a chance as Killer, plays even friendly sometimes and noding with Survivors, etc.

Survivors: tbag at exit gates, "gg wp", gens fly, 0-1K, "ezi", etc.

I am sorry but I just really don't know what to do at this point. You either respect the other side, having harder time and risk the chance of being made fun of or you play seriously and Survivors cry but you have better matches.

That would be a perfect example of over-correcting and removing everything that gives her so much potential. You don't need to go that far because her core design right now isn't so bad as to require it.

You can keep the way her drones are designed right now, they can still be static scouting/active AOEs. You can keep the tracker pad giving Haste per tracked survivor, too, that isn't broken. Those elements of her core mechanical identity don't need to be changed.

Well I think she needs her drones help her more if we want to make her want to chase Survivors and not just guard Gens.

The power would still be around her drones and getting info on Survivors and having control over some area, however in more creative and more fun way that would make her chasing people rather than drop everything on gens. I don't see how would you change her in her currect form without nerfing her into the ground since gens is all it takes outside of very rare few add-ons that help in chase.

  • I had idea how to rework her power to make her not Gen Merchant but Area control / Chase merchant.

Give her 3 drones, but each has different effect and only one of the same type can be present at the same time.

One drone locks down all vault and pallet locations within it's 10 m radius and after few seconds it despawns itself.

Second type of drone is like a scouting tool, you send it in a direction you are looking into and it will fly for some time and if it founds in the zone someone, it will tag them and reveal them and you can track them on your radar for a limited time.

And final one, would be like you place the drone on yourself to active it, giving you Undetectable and Haste effect to help you in chase or sneaking around the map.

  • I think if the hook is not in the main building, there should be basement. If not, it's the opposite.

    I could be wrong tho.

  • "If they nerf it, I will literally laugh for those baby killers and literally make a 10 minute video why it shouldn't get a nerf."

I was about to read the whole post and take you seriously for having different opinion about this perk than mine until my eyes quickly read this part. What a nice, objective and friendly mindset.

  • Yes, they said they are working on her + 3gen as a whole.

  • This "argument" is pretty bad and it doesn't metter on what you will apply it to.

If someone makes road full of lava, then after some time they will remove 1% of the lava and tell you "don't complain, it's easiest it ever been" it doesn't mean it is easy or possible.

  • I saw someone DC recetly because they got Garden of Joy (by luck) as Blight and then few Killers because either they chased me for long time and gave up or chase me and others, couldn't down anyone within few minutes and just left.

I think there's always going to be some similarities and overlap between killers. I think there are limitations on what they can really achieve in the game power-wise.

That's true but I still think there could be some unique abilities or twists of allready existing abilites. Xeno power feels like Demo and Nemi had baby. Turrets are cool but only Survivors get to play with them, not the Killer.

  • It's the weakest status effect. It does only work againts soloQ teams. It only really hurts them if they don't pay attention to where hooked Survivor is or they have some aura reading perks.

I quess the best thing it does is to shut down WoO perk which is like number 1 most used perk.

are you trolling or just really lack understanding of singularity that much?

i've been playing this killer for 2 months nonstop and when I'm telling you it's not worth the effort because it's not worth the effort, it really is like that.

to get any meaningful results against decent survivors (the ones that actually apply counterplay in chase and don't camp pallets / waste EMP for a single slipstream cleanse) you need to put in absurd amount of effort into constantly managing cameras (placing, adjusting, aiming, doing that on constant repeat nonstop even midchase). and if you don't do that, you're playing this killer wrong because you're just reducing yourself to a pretty bad 1v1 + surveillance type of killer, you must constantly apply 1v4 pressure. And you don't just do it randomly, you actually have to put thought into placing cameras, utilizing all that info, infecting survivors quick enough, etc, etc, etc.

this killer's whole playstyle in sweaty matches isn't to outpace survivors like classic chase killers do, it is to drain survivors out of any resources and then slowly take them apart, all that while still doing unreasonable amount of actions every second because otherwise you don't generate enough pressure. Singularity at peak performance is an overcomplicated Hag or Skull Merchant because his chase power is not efficient enough in classic chase cycle gameplay. It's good at draining map resources, punishing survivors for grouping up, but not good for consistently and quickly downing people.

it gets progressively worse because you realize that more and more survivors learn his counterplay and while it takes absurd amount of effort from your side to at least somewhat mitigate EMPs, they don't get distracted that much. They learn not to waste EMP on a pod near gen unless you actually infect them, they learn to switch sides if they gen is being watched by 2 pods (because it's literally impossible to place 2 pods on same gen outside of 1 EMP range and have them observe all sides of the gen, unless that gen has 2 sides obstructed & is in the open), they learn when to predrop or when to loop, they learn what windows are still safe enough to be used against you and so on. So while you were already sweating to manage the basics of your power against people who just mindlessly used EMPs, you're now forced to sweat in square.

Im not even counting endless bugs with his power like cameras refusing to place, being obstructed by pixels or slipstream teleport being overruled by pod placement because 1 pixel slightly obstructed one of your aim's sides. It stops being annoying after you got initial hang of the killer, but then, after a month of playing with him, it becomes infinitely more annoying because you know you got screwed badly because this killer is inconsistent garbage

so yeah, I mastered this killer and as a person who masted him, I can say for sure this killer is not worth it. He takes unreasonable amount of effort for results slightly above mediocre.

Since you know what you are talking about, I would like to ask for tip or advice then.

How I play usualy Singularity is you start the match, as you trying to find survivors (going around the map and gens) you place Biopods on places that you expect at some point have value or Survivor near the area (idealy open space, near main buildings, trees with high trafic, etc.)

Once you find someone, I try to splitstream them, placing quickly Biopod somewhere where I can see them and hit them (idealy I try to do it when we enter a loop so I don't waste time while chasing in the open the Survivor). Then I just chasing them normaly, whenever they get bit too far, TP on them while I can and trying to use the power to catch up to them, forcing them to drop pallets, fast vault windows, etc. I play him as chase Killer, I don't use much biopods unless I don't know where someone is at all and I want to see where to go next (like a Gen with disabled Biopod and there is Surv fixing gen). If someone EMPs mid chase, I try to splitstream them again so I can keep up.

am I playing him wrong then?

The "play your own game" comes up so often - we work on this game for 40 hrs a week, we do playtest but we're testing various things and it's definitely not the same when something goes Live and is played by hundreds of thousand of people, of course things are more likely to be found then.

I wouldn't expect everyone to play the game in their free time - although some of us do, I have 6k hours for example and have played since launch.

We listen to feedback - there have been many changes that have been implemented from feedback, that feedback is collected from many sources as well. Not every piece of feedback can be implemented either (nor should it), for every person that wants x there's an equal number of people that want y. The Team has to decide what to implement what to change, and yes data will play a big part in that as well. Community sentiment is of course important but sometimes changes need to be made for the health of the game that might affect that sentiment - that's where it becomes difficult.

Making a game has so many different parts and so many different departments and each has their own objective to achieve, collating all that and prioritising what can / can't be done and is a big job in itself.

Can I ask if fan made reworks or changes to existing perks are also sometimes considered? For example, if the idea is good, does it go anywhere? (Example: Someone posts idea of how to rework Twins or Fire Up perk, if the idea is liked, does it then go to desing team, etc.)

  • I rather play Survivor honestly, Its more chill. Its way less stressfull than playing Killer and easier. And I am soloQ player and yes, I am having fun. Sorry 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    Playing him is exhausting

Well I agree with you on that one. I like him but I feel like I am done after 1 game with him. The more times I have to re-camera shot someone in one chase the more quickly I get exhausted, same if I can't hit with my camera by 1°C degree off.

  • Wraith is like summer wind compare to other killers. Only thing about Wraith for me is that he isn't interesting to go againts, that's about it.

  • @Nazzzak said:

I see him about 1 in every 10 games. Not too bad I think.

Lucky you. I feel like I see 1 in 10-14 days.

  • I play almost all Killers (dislike Nurse and Hag) so I quess I can kinda say I play unpopular Killers from time to time like Twins, Artist, Singularity, etc.

  • Fun fact: Bots againts Doctor might as well not exist. If they reach madness 3, they will miss the skillcheck everytime and will be stuck in Snap out of It for 2-3+ minutes sitting there like a duck and screaming every few seconds.

  • If we would buff ALL and I mean ALL Killers in the game to the point the worst Killer in the game as A tier on a level of Huntress lets say, then sure then we can have Survivors have 3 health states, can insta sabo hooks, have endurance left right, but then the Killers also need to be able to keep up and have short chases, for every single Killer.

We would have to make Trapper OP for example.

  • I forgot to mention of course his Iri add-ons are crazy as well. Exposed add-on in right hands / Blight mains is disgusting and that Slowdown + super fast breaking pallets isn't balanced either.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

People think Blight is super powerful, but he's really not without certain add-ons. I hope they don't nerf him in to the ground, but they desperately need to fix some add-ons.

Blight is the second best Killer in the game, objectively speaking. His base kit is also second best to none. I also hope they don't nerf his base kit, but he is really strong as he is now, even without add-ons, but he is still fair imo.

  • @MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3516685#Comment_3516685

Hopefully only changes he gets add-on nukes and bug fixes. And i am fine with him after that.

I agree. I hope his Alch Ring + speed add-ons and the "Potion" themed Add-ons all get nerfed, at least in terms of numbers. I am fine with having him some speed add-on(s) but they are way too strong for their value. Maybe they could make then very rare at least and only one type of speed addon.

  • I think Blight is about to get nerfed and I am afraid not just by his addons (which is the only thing he needs). I think within max 3 big patches. I have a feeling it could be next mid chapter after Alien because of how reguested this is and how offten people ######### on Devs for nerfing everyone else but not Blight.

  • I feel like 80-90% of all Killers are in some way, shape or form boring to Survivors.

  • Then what would make you excited? There are usualy in each update some at least 1-2 big changes that effects everyone + some balance changes here and there. Map changes here and there, etc. None of this metters to you? Then do you even enjoying the core game then?

Also, you would have only fun if you get free chapters or characters? If you don't care about updates (other than new content), maybe you don't like much to play the game other than trying new stuff.

Also, I don't want to sound rude, I don't know your money situation of course, but with all the respect, if you want some character, each costs 5$/€ (500 cells). I think that is fair price considering you can get a lot of hours out of it.

9 000 shards isn't too expensive for free character but only if you are player who plays the game for year(s) and you allready own all characters you wanted. For players with not that many hours, it can be sure too grindy.

  • @saintjimmy456 said:

Please, if you are unhooked by me, and I am playing We'll Make It, do not run half way across the map to self-heal in a corner.

Please, just heal right there at the hook. If I run away myself then it is not safe, otherwise, stick around!

You get a little pop up and everything to tell you my perk is active! It looks like this:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/VP8Q5JU5QZIP/image.png

It keeps happening. In fact, it just happened twice in one game, with two different survivors.

I love using this perk as it helps keep the team at full health, but players like this make me want to swap it out for something else, which is at the detriment of everybody.

Healing under the hook can sometimes backfire. Happend to me on both sides a lot. It's better to run a bit somewhere, hide behind some object and then heal (don't have to run for long).

  • @RakimSockem said:

Probably no nerfs but just delete Infectious Fright. Not because it's OP, but just because everyone who uses it, uses it to slug

No need. There are few perks that help you with slugging or againts it even. Killers who run this perk will more likely to slug, however that can also backfire them.

"Greedy" going for more Survivors around js risky and Survivors can pick themselfs up or with help other teammate while the Killer is chasing someone else.

  • I will just say, I kinda miss the old Ultra Rare that allowed you to see Blood pools. That was very strong but maybe you could bring it back and add some downside to it (maybe you move slower a bit or something in phasing).

Also people who had no / bad audio could at least play Spirit without big nerf on themselfs.

  • Very unique Killer with cool power. However I don't find much fun playing as him atm. It's probably because his chains are hard to hit and you have to play around your Box to get the most value out of him. Also FD and Hoarder don't work for him anymore, so that also doesn't help me. Hoarder was legit only decent on Pinhead, yet they nerfed that perk into useless tier.

  • Made for This on it's own. Made for This + Hope, Buckle Up + For The People are overpowered.

I don't have any problem right now with any Killer perk, but the most ovepowered thing on Killer side I would say atm is Blight's addons. At least like half of them needs changes (nerf).

  • Hope + Made for This is making me to just go to the corner of the map as soon as I see Survivors have it and just wait out the 2 minutes. Almost Impossible to catch them unless they do huge mistake.

  • Hag doesn't need rework.

Also Hag was recently changed quite a lot. Add-on buffs and removing flashlight on her traps + adding base kit counterplay to her traps. That's pretty big deal.

Unlike other killers... Hello Twins, who last thing they recived was nerfs and that's like 1+ year ago from now.

  • Only two decent Boons (powerfull in SWF setting) are Shadowstep and Circle of Healing. They are still pretty good, but not S tier anymore. The reason why Boons are no longer played is because there are just stronger meta perks on their own, not needing a Boon. The rest of the boons are situational so you almost never see them.

When it comes to Hexes, only Hex that is somewhat consistent is Plaything with Pentimento. Why? Because they work together well and they are not exposed right from the start of the match so they have way longer lifespam. Problem with Hexes in general, even tho there is quite lot of them pretty solid, is that totem spawn was always bad and now more then ever since every single new map has trash (aka very easily exposed spots) spawns for totems, making something like Blood Favor not worth using, at least not without Undying. Idk why Devs gave up on making totems stops you know... somewhat hidden and not next to a gen or in the open facing middle of the map that can everyone see within 30-40 meters.

  • Making all Haste perks unstackable sounds like good solution. It would make allready top tier perks with Haste effect in check (MFT + Hope = gg you won againts most Killers), without needing of directly nerfing them or at least not much. It would also unlock the option to bad Haste perks could get some small buff (Like Dark Theory --> 2% to 3%) and it would keep them in check so they don't create some crazy combo again.

As of now, MFT and Hope gatekeeps imo the rest of the perks because how dangerous and powerfull is stacking haste effect for Survivors. Movement speed is very important balance point for both sides. 4.4 m/s Killers vs 4.6 m/s for example, imagine Hag running normal speed, Spirit, etc. I really don't think (and no, just because you reached late stage of the game doesn't make you need to have huge advatange over majority of killers) something like moving close as or same as Killer speed should ever be possible without Exhaustion perks that give you that ability for very short time.

  • I would rather face 4 Adrenalines than 4 MFT + Hope. That is like MUCH worse.

  • For me, Bubba is better overall in chase and camping then him, he has better add-ons and he is much easier to play while having better chase power. He is not as punishing as Billy and he is not as hard as him either.

  • I find "Kill obsession" worse than get kills. Obsession Challenges want you to tunnel people.

  • Nope, he isn't as fun to play as and strong as Wesker. Also he don't have the edgy voice lines and look with dark sunglasses 😎. However I think he won't be rare Killer.

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3511561#Comment_3511561

Compared to the hundreds and thousands of games played a month? Yeah no not really.

Well you can see a trend coming from these stats. For example, Nightlight will tell you the most popular Killers (Wesker number 1, then popular picks are Nurse, Huntress, Blight, etc.) and you can tell these are for sure most seen Killers for many many Survivors.

It will not tell you directly the number but it can show you a trend. If 800+ games and most matches were 0Ks that means probably the avarage of the real matches isn't that far off. That is also one of the reasons why they buffed Singularity twice very quickly (including from PTB).

  • Nice, that's good info. Thanks.

  • @Tsulan said:

I still think that there shouldn´t exist a lobby. When someone clicks ready from the main menu, the next thing he should see is the loading screen for the match. No one should dodge based on teammates/players. On top of that, the mmr should consider the strength of items/addons in order to match accordingly. Players with red and purple addons against players with red and purple.

This wouldn't work. It would take ages to programm the MMR for this and it would still most likely not be balanced and fair.

  • Well if SWF groups would be more balanced and give more reasons to play againts them for Killers... Killers would less likely to dodge. Also locking players in lobby is not good idea = sometimes you have to leave, you want to swap Killer, you see the same players from previous match, you see it's obvious 4man squad and you don't want to deal with them, etc. People would then just force quit the game and either go play something else because they are tired of keep loading the game or just go play something else.

Give Killers a reason to stay and play with lobby 400 SWF group. Or 3 man friends, etc. You pick Trapper, see it's obviously at least 3 players together and voice chat and you want to load into unfair, most likely unfun match? Nah.

  • Because Endurance effect is the most simple way how to power up a perk.

Is the perk bad / want to make good new perk? Give it endurance somewhere.

Example: Buckle up, MFT, Off the Record, etc.

I think I don't want to see any more perks with Endurance. It's too offten for how powerfull shield effect can be.

  • If the game would be focused on getting hooks rather than kills, both tunneling and camping would be much less viable ways to play and more healthy for both sides.

However, I think most people including devs themselfs like Killing being the main objective for killers, so this will never change. Even if you nerf it, Killers will still proxy camp or tunnel only 2 players to get them ASAP from game, etc.

If you ever want tunneling being not good, we need to change the core objective of the game and balance it around it. I don't think this will happen tho.
