  • Yes, i miss teabagging the survivor on hook and pointing before i unhooked and healed them hehe

  • Blight. Favorite killer they have added in the game since nurse.

  • I mained him for a long time and absolutely loved playing him. He was fun to play and imo was very strong in the right hands but not OP (Decent survivors still loop billies). There is a clear distinction between billies and m1llies and he takes a good amount of skill to play effectively (Curving, Moonwalking with chainsaw 99% and turning last moment to mindgame survivor, etc) which you can still do and which was fun learning to try to master and i really enjoyed him, but since his nerf i cannot stand him whatsoever. Janky camera angles after chainsaw sprint (bug?), loud roar which gives up crucial info to good survivors that you are actually chainsawing and not baiting, Super obvious smoke coming from the chainsaw which you can see over loops way easier, annoying asf chainsaw noises, and absolutely gutted addons make him 0 fun to play for me and i have completely quit playing him. I seriously don't know why they hit him this hard.. all they had to do was nerf instasaw addon billy which was like 99% of the complaints with him, not all this other BS they did with him.

Oh well, Blight main now who i find to be the most fun killer in the game nowadays by far, but when i get bored of him i'll probably quit the game.

Wraith is one of the few killers I rarely bother with, and I’m TRYING to give him some love finally, but I cannot see the point of choosing him over Ghostface!

I just cannot land surprise hits on survivors. Which means committing to a chase on a missed surprise hit is going to take a very long time, and we all know that long chases lose the game

    • I approach gens from an angle to not trigger Spine Chill.
    • I approach via LoS blockers.
    • I think about where they’re repairing by taking note of where vaults and pallets are so that I can be ready to cut them off at where they’re predictably going to run.

But absolutely none of that matters. At all. By the time I go to strike after uncloaking, those survivors have reached the safety of a pallet or vault.

So what exactly is Wraith meant to do?

Without surprise hits, without initiating chases on already injured survivors, how the F is he meant to cope against these sorts of survivors?! Gens are repaired too fast to commit to chases against un-injured survivors. Or I can and maybe get 1 hook after 3 gens pop, and maybe one more hook after the remaining gen pops.

    Like, how do you Wraith?!

He is addon dependent and map dependent (No big maps same for most killers). Bone clapper is yellow rarity which is pretty solid, theres another one forgot the name but he makes no sound coming out of stealth which is also pretty damn good, but double windstorm is probably most meta on him just because of the insane movespeed you get so i would highly recommend that combination. As some other people said already, you have to get good at bodyblocking (easy with windstorm addons) and just play from there. Bing bong in chase to confuse other survivors (works really well with boneclapper). There's a lot of different builds you can try, I HIGHLY recommend Whispers though because you can quickly find survivors in the beginning without wasting too much time and if ur zooming around the map in stealth you can check an area WITHOUT seriously checking the area by using whispers which saves you tons of time on a killer that can't afford to lose anytime. I have played a decent amount of games of wraith in red rank throughout the years and he can be successful, but vs really solid teams he just can't keep up unless they make mistakes or you just play out of your mind good and mindgame every ######### pallet by moonwalking.

Above all.. you have to wear his spooky Halloween blight skin to SCARE the survivors which is a guaranteed 4k if your a spookymaster. Basic wraith is not scary or spoooky so survivors won't tremble in fear at the sight of you when you come out of stealth.

Strong survivors don't really get in bad positions. That's why killers like clown and deathslinger aren't really considered "good". Even strong 1v1 doesn't really makes a difference at the end.

    DbD is a depressing game.

You have to eventually as survivor to get the unsafe gens done. It's not like you can just hide out at fun bus all game lol.

A windup doesn't make it dodgeable, it makes it more predictable. Plus even if it does have a windup - according to people who say you cant dodge a slinger - she will get the hit anyway because it travels just as fast as slinger.

Do you ever get tired of arguing against hundreds of people when in the back of your mind you know the killer is broken and unfun to play against? You have a pretty clear bias to defend your main killer and will jump through hoops to justify his 0 counter power.

  • @GhostyyBoi said:

I've been trying to get better with him, but uh...

    I suck with him.

    Help me please

Use chili addons and get good at timing your saw at the very end when it's about to run out of charge. Usually you either get the pallet which is good or the survivor gets greedy and you get the down which is even better.

  • Proxy camp? Just about every other game basically someone get's proxy camped to some extent unless it's blight, oni, or billy that travels across the map after a hook. Killer stays within 15-20m of the hook at all times and if someone get's an unhook they b line straight for injured survivor. Only option here is Borrowed Time or bodyblocking to a lesser extent. Literal face camp? probably 1/10-15 games which is usually a result of where the killer couldn't find someone for the first 2 mins then when they finally do they chased that survivor until they got them down and if that took longer than 3 gens or more they just facecamp them. I don't count it as facecamp if all gens are complete because the killer has no options.

Game is super fun nowadays where rank 12 killers are inlated into red ranks and i have to deal with this nonsense all the time. I just play killer now because the role is so much less annoying to play than solo/duo survivor.

  • Yes, hopefully the next yamoka killer is just Oni and Spirit combined. Instadowns traveling at the speed of light while invisible.

Wait serious question isn't nearly every perk is a crutch? Also a crutch perk isn't necessarily a bad perk is it?

Exactly, every perk is a crutch. Killers complain about crutch perks so much that the devs should make a gamemode where there is no perks whatsoever. Nobody would play it though because the game would be incredibly dull and bland.

  • @Micheal said:

Just use the perk were the hook well brack when token off the hook ,die hard and lucky brack. It well make it pane in the butt for killers it works

    ???????????????????????????????????????

It’s not super common, but there are Survivors that actually rely on the poor optimization. They’ll notice that their 360s and other maneuvers aren’t as effective anymore and that they’re getting hit in general more often because Killers aren’t dropping as many frames and start whining.

Yeah that's true about 360s i suppose, but realistically if the devs optimized the game then killers would get WAY less ridiculous hits than they should. Bad optimization tends to favor killers more, unless you don't consider fixing latency issues as optimization for some reason.

  • Rank 1 killer and survivor since about 4 years ago when the game came out on pc. I have nothing to prove to you idc about arguing about this nonsense but keep telling your self whatever it takes to believe that you are THE BEST CLOWN PLAYER EVER DUDE!!!!!

Oh, sorry I proved you wrong with facts. I'm not saying I am the best player. I am defining which killers take more skill to play. Clown is one of the highest in the game.

I couldn't imagine being that delusional and wrong. Yeah dude your random clips are STRAIGHT FACTS AND LOGIC. I'm out what a literal waste of a post.

You gotta be kidding me. Do you want me to send you some clips of me wrecking some red rank survivors with max range bottle tosses that I predict the location they are going to be at 3-4 seconds in advance? That is the definition of skill. Clown doesn't get rewarded for it as much as other killer, but don't pretend the long and max range bottle tosses are easy to land.

Dude you're the best clown ever grats i really care sooo much please send me all your clips cause you need more views on yt or something hahahaha. Your post should be removed for not adding anything of value besides "look at me look at me" and for being click bait nonsense.

I love it. I have watched streamers, including forum beloved otz, struggle to land bottle tosses on competent survivors. Even he considers clown one the most mechanically difficult killers in the game.

You are probably the same type of person who thought billy was overpowered because you could not figure out how to hump windows to avoid the chainsaw.

Clown is one of the most difficult killers mechanically? hahahahahahaha good one! Throwing a bottle at the far side of a loop is super challenging.

Nice screenshot with mori and busted addons you really showed him! Also great clickbait title as well toxic troll.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1647005#Comment_1647005

You're taking it too literally. Its 13 seconds (in that example) of "gained time" not "actual time" on the generator. The time spent walking to make use of the perk is time spent not pressuring any of the survivors on the map, so it is "lost time." For example, when you down someone after a 20 second chase, you are actually still spending more than 20 seconds to get anything out of it, as you'd have to spend time picking the survivor up, then walking to a hook, then hooking them.

Gens regress at an extremely slow rate, taking 4x as long to regress as it takes to complete, so the effects are fairly neglible unless the gen is ignored for half a match.

To your other point that a survivor has to spend equal time walking back to the gen, yes, you are correct, but you are also ignoring that there are three other survivors whose have no relevance to that situation. Every second a survivor spends doing something, a killer basically spends 3 equivalent seconds doing it. So one survivor walking to a gen takes 5 seconds, but a killer walking to a gen, although still literally taking 5 seconds, allows 15 seconds of gen progress overall on the map due to the other survivors doing their own thing.

    They're not even close.

Yes, but what else can you do in that situation? You either kick the gen nearby and try to set up for a 3 gen situation which is the best way to win vs good survivors or you just let them finish the "better" gens. C'mon, we both know that you don't defend gens that are literally across the map or in ######### positions such as corners of the map because it's not realistic to defend those in high level play.

Gens regress at a slow rate, but it's better than absolutely nothing. People have complained for years about gen regression being to slow plus survivors shouldn't be able to click gens to stop them, they should have to work them for 5 secs to stop the regression.

Your last point is true, but that's universal for every match and nothing can be done about that because its a 4v1 game and was designed that way. All the killer can do is defend gens and hook people and he should prioritize the "better" gens by setting up "3 gen" situations anyways.

PGTW is generally not good early game unless you have extra time for some reason through pressure which shouldn't happen if the survivors are good, but it's pretty damn good late game when multiple survivors are injured and there is less gens on the map and you're getting multiple downs. You said it yourself that you get like at least 5-7 kicks a game which is a gen and half usually. It's up there as one of the better killer perks although inferior to the new ruin and undying combo.

  • Scott's wrong about PGTW though. How is the distance traveled to the gen and the kick factored into the time taken away from the gen through PGTW? He says it's really 13 seconds, that's just plain wrong! it's 20 sec MINIMUM (disregarding perks, toolboxes, and duo on gen) if the gen was above 25% and that's guaranteed PLUS the amount you would get through the regression of the gen. You could regress a gen that's about to be completed if you kick it with pop and if the survivors don't go back to it because they are unaware as a team then you get EVEN MORE value than 20 sec. Even if the survivors do know and go back to work the gen than you could just use his argument against him by saying that they have to travel to the gen and stop the regression while moving slower than the killer. His argument about PGTW makes 0 sense. SEND HIM THIS I WANT A REPLY.

  • According to casual killers that aren't as good as they think they are hmm just about every good survivor perk as well as pallets, flashlights (yes they still complain about flashlights lol), toolboxes need another nerf, healing speeds, keys, maps, sooooo basically anything and everything.

Realistically a nerf to DS unbreakable combo and a nerf to keys would make they game very even and would hopefully stop the whining of all these killers.

  • So true, they should add about 15 more hooks per map as well as remove flip flop, boil over, and tenacity from the game and struggling in general (Sarcasm). There's already a ton of hooks and you can even bring offerings to reduce the distance between them as killer.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/194506/bhvr-opened-pandoras-box-so-now-what-happens-to-slinger

You cant change his zoning and ADS time for a few reasons:

    • He'll literally become a worse huntress
    • He'll become clown tier if not handled properly
    • He'll be super unfun to play
    • You NEED to zone against good players, good players can predict most shots and it's impossible to hit a zig zaging survivor.

Just keep slinger as is unless you want to destroy him "just because he's frustrating", and disappoint all the people who main him.

EDIT: I usually never say this but this is coming from a genuine slinger main who literally only plays him. Changing slinger is a bad idea.

Predict a shot that takes milliseconds for the slinger to aim if he's good? It's just random guessing unless he's farther than 16 meters, not to mention tiny projectile and big hitbox and that's not even accounting for latency which we all know is terrible in this game.. Also good slingers hit 80-90% of their shots regardless of what the survivors do. If you guess correctly multiple times vs a decent slinger congratulations go buy a lottery ticket.

I hope they nerf him plus you have a clear bias considering you main him.

  • @Raz_ said:

just came back after a 3 week break and i cant flash killers anymore.. why are you always changing things in the game what doesnt need a change?

It takes some getting used to if you were very used to the old flashlights. What i do now is aim at the killers head with the survivors model as a guide, so now you should aim just above the right shoulder of the characters model.. a bit hard to explain but there is already some guides out for it, now you just aim a bit higher than before but i think the timing and everything is the same.

  • WOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAH 15 SEC REDUCTION THE PERKS USELESS NOW!!!!! Killers whine so much it's hilarious. It's still 25% now there's just an urgency to kick gens faster... It's STILL a top tier perk and i'll still be running it on certain killers.

  • Yeah i completely understand. I remember when you could load into a game and have faith in your teamates somewhat, people were usually semi competent, but now it's a complete joke. So many players in red ranks currently that should barely be green ranks at best. They absolutely destroyed high rank by nerfing rank reset and it's infested with people that have 0 business being in high ranks. I've been playing for 4 years as well and it was NEVER this bad. Players naturally make there way to red ranks regardless of their skill level now it's pathetic. Say what you want about rank reset, but it kept bad and casual players from reaching high ranks which was a good thing because the game was more balanced overall, you had decent survivors and decent killers and the new players playing with the new players. Try to queue up a game as killer on a brand new account... It's like 20 min long.. none of my friends will join the game as a new player because of ######### like this.

  • Yes, not the main two story building with the basement spawn and not the other two story building with stairs and the see through mesh but the wooden structure in the corner of the map near shack. That structure has a ramp leading up to a deck and it's on a hill and for whatever reason you can't blink up to the deck part but you can blink to it if your completely horizontal with the deck. It's really annoying.

  • She feels better to play i agree! Why can't i blink up the wooden structures with the ramp on the swamp maps though? I can't tell if it's intentional or not because if you're completely horizontal with it you can blink to it but you can't blink UP it. Strange.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

Yeah, ok, all killers have good maps and bad maps, but in Blights case the swamp maps present a significant handicap that basically guarantees a win is handed to the survivors on a silver platter.

    PLEASE!

    RAISE!

    THE DAMN!

    CAMERA!!!

"basically guarantees a win" Bit of an exaggeration there.

  • Yeah I'm pretty familiar with the game.. been playing it for 4 years lol. Sorry that was a jaded comment earlier. You really are eating DS too often though. Pay attention to when survivors were unhooked and don't pick them up right away. If the survivors are unhooking near you then you should be punishing the TEAM heavily. Hit the guy that unhooks instead and then chase him. This removes dealing with Borrowed Time or DS/Unbreakable slugging anyways. If they are trading hook states that's really good for you actually. If the unhooked guy is bodyblocking chances are he has BT. If he's trying to get you to chase him he has the combo. A lot of the time you should be ignoring the unhooked guy anyways. If they are on a gen with combo you m2 lunge and slug and wait for timer. If they are fresh unhooked you stay nearby and look for survivors hiding nearby while checking gens. Come back later and pick him up when his DS has ran out or hit the guy that's healing him.

A part of the game especially in high rank is learning to make the right calls. Sometimes it's better to just immediately eat the DS and others it's not. You gauge this based off how much pressure you have. It's strategical and a bit luck based at high level for killer. You gotta be more creative though then tunneling the guy off hook and eating DS every game. 2 times a game is either an exaggeration or you really are tunneling.

  • How long have you been playing? Best advice is to be reactionary instead of making a ton of predictions. You WILL have to make a lot of predictions, that's the nature of nurse, but I've been playing a long time and I've played against a ton of really good nurses and as nurse in red ranks for years. The best nurses I've seen blink to where the survivor broke LOS then use the second blink to secure the hit. Never swing unless you are certain you will secure a hit because you will sometimes just lose a chase. She takes a good amount of practice and you really have to understand survivor movements. At jungle gyms just walk (i know sounds stupid but trust me) until you see them then blink to the corner they turn and they will either be waiting for you at the corner or they will have kept running then just either hit them or use your second blink to get the hit. Hopefully this helps but you WILL have to make predictions and you can't always choose correctly.

I see so many people praising this killer but in that same breath they only beat survivors who know how to do nothing but hold forward and die for free..I'm getting frustrated with every tile being " welp have no power, welp have no power..oh look he stepped two steps left? Damn chant turn..you wanna know what I think now?.. I think blight is being carried by the terror radious bug..giving him tons of free hits..because if a survivor isnt a doofus hes got such easy counterplay that he goes from fun to rage inducing...and I wanted to believe he had potential..but now I believe it less and less because the actual good survivor players are making him out as a joke

This again.. I'm doing pretty well with him at rank 1. You have to be creative with his power and turning addons are insanely good for making sure you hit your target. Most of the time if i miss it was my fault or the survivor was just barely around a corner or something. That's frustrating but do you really think you should get EVERY hit? Dead hard is a nuisance but that's about it.

  • @Moxormog said:

    I'm done.

You keep nerfing and destroying killers each patch.

I'm so over doing a barely 1 minute chase in the beginning of the match to have two gens pop off because I don't have corruption or using ruin (When it doesnt get cleansed in the first 30 seconds).

You've literally ruined huntress. Every other game I am having hatchets that are not connecting when it clearly hits the survivor (with a blood splash)?????

The amount of idiotic sound bugs that makes it nearly impossible to track survivors or when gens are being worked on.

almost 2k hours as a killer but I can't handle the amount of abuse and disregard Behavior has towards its killer playerbase.

But, hey, at least you have your 2-3 killer main streams in a sea of ######### survivor streamers on Twitch.

Survivors, you keep wondering why your que times are so long?...

Do you really have to wonder??????

My queues are pretty fast at red rank for survivor. If they are THAT long i'll just take your spot in the killer queue i guess?

  • It's rough when you're starting about but eventually you will get the hang of it. Some good players recognize that you're new and they will purposely get chased by you to teach you the game, teaching you what works and what doesn't. Some are ######### about it and other's will message you after the game and tell you what you did wrong to try to help you improve. Take this advice. If you're new i really wouldn't recommend nurse because she takes a ton of practice and you have to understand map layouts, survivor patterns, common pathroutes, etc. a lot of nuanced knowledge that you will learn from playing other killers. She's really really strong when you get good at her though so it's up to you when you want to decide to learn her.

I am sick and tired of Decisive Strike + Unbreakable Perk Combo always at Red ranks man. As a Killer main I always have to worry about this invulnerability phase all the time. Like bruh every trial I get, I always eat at least 2 decisive strike early out of the fear that they're just gonna use unbreakable or just 99% themselves so to save unbreakable. Even if a Survivor does not have this combo, I'm a red rank killer so my anxiety is always telling me that these good survivors always have a small pp. After eating those D. Strike, I just let get away so I can "Just Pressure Gens" so those Survivors just got a Get out of Jail card for FREE. Well please devs, make it so that in the upcoming balance changes take away these Invincibility Phase Survivor have after getting hooked. I know this game is balanced after casual players and I'm 100% SURE that casuals are not using the small pp combo as offensively as possible SO please nerf.

You eat 2 DS a game? Sounds like you tunnel a lot. Maybe switch targets more often like most decent red rank killers do and you won't have that problem?

  • I really don't understand why you can't see the killers ping anymore. Probably one of the most frustrating things about the game. Before when the killer was host you knew if the connection was going to be good or bad. Now it shows you the servers but if the killer has 800 ping it's just super awful to play against. Another obvious thing that should be added to the game.

  • Some people came to the conclusion a long time ago that he was OP in a chase. Scott just backed it up with straight math and yet still killer mains will say he's balanced or fun to go against in a chase. Lol, good people dominate with him maybe some DS mains aren't as good as they think? A good portion of the community doesn't enjoy playing against him so i'm not surprised and it will probably continue to happen until they fix him.

I hope Devs could watch it...

The duration of Undetectable is too short to generally make it to the gen even on the fastest of killers unless you literally happen to already be close to it and not in the middle of a chase, so you are rarely truly capitalizing on it much.

More or less a perk for a 70% threshold ping. I'd rather just run discordance.

I'm not saying it's "bad", just that I think there are better options and over exaggerated.

Who do you play though? On Blight you can get to most gens if you drop chase immediately and prioritize gens. I use it to set up 3 gens and have great success. My build is Corrupt Intervention, BBQ, Tinkerer, and PGTW. Idc for ruin never have but with the new blight hex perk it's probably even better. I don't like discordance anymore because most games start with survivors on the far side of the map and they just start a gen together. Yeah i know they are on it but i have to travel across the entire map to get there. I would rather just use C.I. and block them from working it entirely.

  • Nice bait bro! He's pretty great try harder next time!

  • That's true as well, i hope they do balance the game more lol i'm not against it!

  • @Blueberry said:

They watched a couple of the popular streamers all using it.

    It's pretty lackluster imo.

Nah, some people can just think on their own. It was buffed from alerting you at 85% to 70% gen progress which usually gives you enough time to get to the gen. Bubba with this perk is nuts and gets you sooo many free downs in red ranks it's hilarious. It's also really good on Blight because of his mobility and if coupled with PGTW it's even better. it allows you to defend gens much easier.. what's not good about it? Isn't that what killers complain about every day? This perk literally tells you when a gen is going to be completed and give you 0 terror radius to sneak up on them. Easy choice.

  • Yes, Nurse, Oni, Bubba (with chili addon), Blight, Spirit, Hillbilly, and even legion can all quickly close distance vs. sprint burst. Bamboozle blocks windows and they can't vault for 16 sec. and it's currently in the shrine right now. Sounds like you played against some opponents that knew what they were doing and maybe you are newer then them?

  • Yup, that's a huge problem i think the devs need to address. It should be much easier to unlock perks because some of the locked ones are of course meta and almost required to use as a high rank killer.

  • Doctor on Hawkins or the game is basically a guaranteed win if you have a good build.

  • Unfortunately right now I think Corrupt Intervention is almost necessary in red ranks. Survivors spawn across the map and usually on a generator so C.I. literally blocks them from working gens near them. They have to move around the map which increases the likelihood of you finding them and wastes their time because they aren't pressuring gens. C.I. blocks 3 gens so you only have to patrol 4 gens and you will find someone much easier. Also like some other people have said already and this is HUGE, you have to know when to drop a chase. If you're getting looped and hear a gen being worked on don't be ashamed to just drop the chase and defend your gens. I've noticed killers get that tunnel vision and refuse to drop a chase due to pride or because they are so focused on downing this ONE survivor which is a huge waste of time. Anyways good luck long post sorry.

I would love it, honestly removing tier 1 looks like a good idea to me, maybe myers could have no terror radius at the start of the match for 2 minutes while still in tier 2? I don't think that it would be broken or OP

Yeah, basically something like that. It wouldn't be OP i don't think personally. Hopefully they do something with him soon. I used to main him a while back but he's just kinda old.

  • Yes, remove his tier 2. All they would have to do is give him a lunge in tier 1 and give him back normal movespeed 115/ms. Just make it the same required stalk that it would normally take to get to tier 3. This way he can be stealthy and wouldn't have to rely on Monitor and abuse and dead rabbit to sneak up on people as much.

  • He's way better then the PTB version and they did a great job. At first he's hard to control but eventually you will get the hang of him. He does have a high skill cap but I'm doing very well with him in red ranks now and he's probably the most fun i've had on a new killer in a long time. His turning addons work very well if a new player is having trouble.

  • Are you on controller or mouse and keyboard? I know what you're saying It just takes some getting used to. I play M+KB and it's fairly easy to slam and swing with a mouse i don't know how hard it would be on controller. It does take some getting used to try to slam a bit away from them and remember that you don't have to immediately dash again and you can properly aim and let go from the wall then swing.
