Why soo weak? (mods: its a MEME) ... So its just about your own mental capacity and mindset. Work on it. Learn to endure losses. Learn to understand that teabagging does nothing for the gameplay. Accept that other players could be better. Accept that your not top MMR. If you can do all that, youre a better human.
-
YoYou know, survs have to repair Gens, so you probably find them there. And you can see all those fance red auras of those gens. So if you hook someone, you can already check those gens. And surprise, the survs dont even see you coming soon enough to hide. This mode is so freaking easy for killers that tunneling anyone is just showing off how bad the state of the game actually is.

So how exactly do SWF destroy fun in Lights Out? I am curious.

Some say the gen-kicking meta was easier for killers than the current one.
Ive never seen anyone say that. And its just the same as before, just some edge case is halfed.

The spaghetti code is holding the game back. Should be redone from scratch.
The devs are holding the game back. The code just makes it worse to change something without breaking something entirely different.

Basically, those people are right. Its tunneling, you cant deny that as you still have the choice to go for the unhooker never the less. Also to be honest, BT ist also meant to deny a fast trade. Still most people who bodyblock with BT will never complain, thats also the truth.

What is even genrushing?

Probably because people don't WANT to tunnel and camp to win contrary to popular belief. Most killers want to go for multiple chases on multiple survivors rather than cheesing out a victory.
Don't you think it would be better if the game was balanced in a way that playing optimally was actually spreading pressure around and not going out of your way to eliminate someone as fast as possible? You'd see far less people camp and tunnel if it wasn't the most optimal way to win.
Thats definitley not true, and the new mode showed that pretty good so far. People tunnel cause its easy win, its no skill needed, they can annoy others people, and can brag about it later in chat. Thats how it works.
-
Its not. As Survivor.
-
Survivor feels utterly annoying. Besides the lights out, there is nothing that would make survivors wanna play this mode.
-
You really ask that?

Yet even weaker perks that follow kinda the same logic don't recharge in chase? Stakeout, diversion? Whats the difference?
Cause none of those perks are useful in chase.

In my matches where I didn't bring jolt but did bring other gen regression perks not once did I hit the gen regression limit, but every game I played with it I hit the limit fast. Anybody else?
I doubt that unless you stacked 4 slowdowns.
-
Thats what Distortion is made for.
-
No, and its pretty unlikely to ever come. The game isnt even balanced at the actual mode, and a 2vs8 would require changes to legit every aspect of the game.

@GeneralV said:
No, I don't think there is a big conspiracy happening here.
BHVR is unlikely to sabotage its own product.
Meanwhile they pretty much do so.
-
We dont need new game modes, we need a proper game.
-
I made feedback during PTB but to be honest. With how the killer meta makes games as infuriating as possible, i tend to think more and more that this is totally fine. Regression is just stupidly braindead right now. Worse then ever.

I just faced a SWF where one person ran simple chase perks to get sprint burst back while the other three ran these exact perks: Deadline, Stake Out, Hyperfocus, and Prove Thyself. Now, despite getting a down 45 seconds into the match by nailing down the chaser, two gens where gone and Discordance never went off. Soooo...cheaters or is this just reallllly powerful?
So, prove doesnt do anything in this case. Stakeout only works as long as you chase around them, so probably not relevent too. So there is just Deadline and Hyperfocus. If they did gens this fast, there are two possibilities: either theyre really good at hitting those skillchecks, or theyre medling with skillchecks in some way. And you basically cant tell apart. To be honest, majority of people arent able to keep up with hyperfocus skillchecks alone. Even worse with Deadline. Its not a good combination for like 95%, just for those with really good coordination skills. So, balancing around 5% is stupid, otherwise bowth perks would be insanely useless.
-
BT isnt just an anti-tunnel perk. It never was.
-
Nobody likes that monster of UI. DOnt know why they do something thats a big known no-go in games.
-
So we now even start to cut down most liked events? Looks like devs really want to take down most of the playerbase this year. Inexcusable if thats the case.

There's always one that has to come in with this nonsense.
Nonsense? Cant remember why the lighting got changed?
-
I can already hear killers crying a river that they cant see survivors.
-
There are 3 issue I have with this system.
- Kills/escapes is not a sufficient indicator for skill. We have an emblem system that tracks a variety of indicators and would be much more reliant as mmr system. Back as it was used as matchmaking base at some point it was a decent matchmaking with balanced out games. But devs overthrow this good base system instead of honing it. One of the worst developments this game had to endure.
- Matchmaking is flawed beyond control. Backfill lobbies screw the most games. Killers are free to do lobby shopping with no penalties, resulting in the utmost stupid match-ups. the range of matching mmr values is obviously by far too big. also at some point youre in low-mmr hell. You get matched with bad players and due to that ridicoulous backfilling you probably play more often against killers that take out the small fry super easy, just holding you back from raising your mmr at anymore.
- Also nobody knows their own mmr, the mmr of their teammates nor their opponents and so they cant even calculate at which level they are or how hard they have to sweat to get to a certain point to evade bad games. also much toxicity arises from not knowing their own mmr as 90% of the playerbase claim to be high mmr, though theyre not. I often have killers in my games that 4k cause of low-mmr hell and think theyre the greatest of all times.
Summary: the whole system is a mess. but as always devs cling to their new toys no matter how unsuitable they are.
-
Why exactly should be depipping an issue?
-
Boons are just a failed concept. The perk would be better off by not being a boon. Even then probably not worth any slot.
And Qucik Gambit is also a failure by design, cause devs dont udnerstand that chasing near gens is the most unwanted gameplay for survivors. Even if you make the numbers to 50% and rising it is just a really bad idea.
Just make two completely new perks. Ideas that would have remarkkabvle impact on gameplay were given more than enough. But sadly devs never ever use them.
-
First, I dont see that Alan wake is a big license, personally. Second, perks never get a buff treatment from ptb and will remain useless by design for as long as the game will exist. Its always been like this. devs just have no understanding of needed nor wanted gameplay.
-
Its always the same especially for survivors. You can give feedback like a science report and nothing will change. I dont even know when it was last time they made some serious buffs to new useless perks. Seeing the surv perks its mostly a pile of shame. You can likely ignore 2/3 of the roster. I probably havent seen several perks since they were introduced. And no we get a SURVIVOR ONLY Chapter, and the worst things are the survivor perks. Noone can excuse this.
-
The dev update is a huge confession that devs lack the understanding on how to handle feedback. You cannot explain this otherwise. People started telling that this combination is totally impossible to go live as soon as ptb patchnotes hit the board. Its shocking how devs handle feedback.

It does. You can't say an unprestiged dwight is going to play at the level of another P100 survivor. From the lobby screen you can generally get an idea of what somebody's skill level is going to be without seeing their hours. I'll give you this though, the survivor main who claims to have the most hours played is pretty bad. I would guess he has about 20k hours on his account but he also spends on average 30-45mins lobby dodging between each match because he isn't happy with the composition of teammates he's getting. Prestige & hours played isn't everything, but it does give a little insight as to what to expect.
It gives you zero information on how skilled a player is. Its just the level of dedication on spending bloodpoints for a single character. Like, if i spend all my bloodpoints on Dwight for p100 or distributing them even among ten characters doesnt change anything about my skill level. Even playtime doesnt necessarily corelate with skill. Ive seen players with double digit thousand hours being super useless or streamer in that range talking total nonsense about the game. Stop assuming anything like prestige or hours played gives you a hint on how bad theyre.
-
Prestige levels still dont relate with skill level.

The way I see it is that the community somehow decided that killers are some sort of Dungeon Master that has to ensure their players have fun. The killer isnt a DM, but an opponent thats as free to follow their goals as survivors are, which includes killing survivors.
People would call me crazy if i demanded to be giving a minimum lifespan of my choice in other games in which you can get killed early. Imagine complaining about not getting a a chance by others to grab a gun before getting gunned down.
I think the problem OP has is that the community is seriously contemplating about adding punishments for killers technically just playing the game and ignoring that survivors are doing the same things as killers. That the community decides that tunneling is "bad" and survivors cant tunnel stuff because its called gen rushing for them, which doesnt exist and if it did its not "bad" , is sophistry.
Do you really believe what you said?

if killer has two downs next to eachother, survivors screwed it massively. Why would you try to loop around hooked survivor? It's kinda funny to try blame killer / system, where survivor clearly screwed it.
You can also crawl away... just saying
So you do understand that the timer paused, while a survivors i carrierd and it pauses while a survivor down near the hook? ITs just an abuse of this system possible, and ive seen enough killer doing that. Its not a matter of survivor screwing up.
-
Thats the fun thing,.killers could just abuse this mechnaic by dropping a second survivor at the hook. Free kill.
-
Comparing a perk thats always available vs a addon thats limited and can be countered by different perks/addons or just gameplay is quite sad.
-
If youre already just relying on cheap gameplay and are thinking that anything gets worse for killer, there is no hope for you.
-
Thats most likely the worst comparison ive ever seen. Good job.

You're working on the assumption that I'm taking sides here, rather than just pointing out the flawed logic behind the requests. Just because you play the Them Vs. Us game doesn't mean everyone else does as well. I don't care whether someone is a Survivor main or a Killer main; a good idea is a good idea and a bad idea is a bad idea. The OP is a classic example of a bad idea.
Fixing proximity camping is a bad idea?
-
The thing is, besides using completely insufficient indicators to define skill level, the matchaking rougly just consists of 3 levels: Lowest 5%, Highest 5% and the rest 90%. Otherwiese you wouldnt have those matches right now. Additionally you get those backfill lobbies with extreme matchmaking ranges.
Thats all just due to being the mmr system fundamentally wrong designed. But as always, there will never be any better solution as devs are ignoring this too.
-
@Raconteurminator @pigslittlepet But its fine to have free hooks or trading into slug and tunnel? Killer double standards as always.
Bhvr never even tried to fix anything related to killer strategies. They just made band aid fixes for minor issues, ignoring the underlying issue eegarding core gameplay. And those had little to no effect on the core issue. Bt didnt fix tunneling. Anti face camp didnt fix camping. Anti 3 gens doesnt fix 3 gens. You see how this works.

There's over 100 perks and killers only ever use a grand total of about 10. Because the vast majority are trash. Survivors have 100s of perks and you see about 8. Almost all content in the game is untouched because they aren't nearly as effective as just tunneling out the first guy you see.
Shake things up, make devour hope actually scary, make BBQ great again, give killers other "optimal" options
Nah they could be more effective and it wouldnt change anything about tunneling someone out. I would more like to play with all perks trash and no tunneling instead of all perks god tier and still having tunneling in game. Those things just prevent the game from evolving into a top game.
-
As long as tunneling is possible it doesnt matter what you do unless it creates another way to easily win the game. Tunneling needs to go. entirely. There is no space to discuss this.
-
What playstyle are locked out? Tunneling, camping and slugging arent playstyles. A playstyle would be hit and run. Theyre just gamebreaking (like circumventing intented gameplay) ways to knockout any skill needed to play this game. First you have to shut down those ways entirely. After that you can take a look at the everything else.
-
If anything, DH needs some serious rework to be useful. You know, even dashing killers have M1?
-
Its a totally overhyped perk. Its not strong. Its just some beginner perk. The speedboost is neglctable.

hyperfocus and reassurance are super strong what are you talking about man, yes, i was talking about background player, troubleshooter anss scavenger are really good, and mft is not even bad now, it´s just not super OP like before, you can still get the endurance and its a really good anti tunnel, plot twist and dramaturgy are insanely good, but it looks goofy so you probably don´t notice it (scene partner is ok), lucky star is decent, trap is really good if you´re in a dead zone or need to make a lot of distance (like the new alan wake perk) and lightfooted is not bad, it´s decent and works well in the firsst step of a chase
anti face camp is indeed a good thing, it makes proxy camping harder too, old borgo was really good for survivors, not that strong but not weak, toba has a lot of random trash and some really good loops if you know how to run them, not that strong but not weak, new BNP is not just a nerf, it´s a rework, and the 10% you remove from the gen can´t be regressed like the old bnp, new anti 3 gen is not that good? it literally removes the 3gen holding, how is it not good? and goj changed a lot, the main building is even stronger now
i don´t think i said that vittorio have strong perks, i said that they´re good and i liked them, you should stop using only meta stuff (or something like that) and try to use the potential of other perks friend :)
and this is not an ´´us vs them´´, the game is in a really good state now btw
Dont know which game you play but just no.

I'm assuming you don't care about cool things, but strong things so
we had: rebecca perks (oh my hyperfocus), renato perks, gabriel soma perks (oh my made for this), nicolas cage perks, ellen perks, anti FACE-camp, old borgo, skull merchant´s map, toba, new BNP, new anti 3gen, new garden of joy (literally stronger than before) etc
and remember, not being meta competitive OP crutch power doesn´t mean being bad, vittorio perks are amazing
Hyperfocus is just used in Genbuilds and needs top notched recation time to be good. Renato had only Background Player to be useful. Gabriel just had Made for this, and now its trash too. Nic has no good perk at all. Ellen has no good perks at all. Anti-Facecamp just made proxy camping more fluently, didnt made much of an impact. Old Borgo was trash for everyone. Toba is also not a good map. New BNP was a nerf. anti-3gen is just another workaround that mostlikely does not much on its issue. GoJ wasnt even changed much at all. And Vittorio has just fogwise, thats niche.
