Idk why I keep forgetting about the kidnap tech despite it being talked a lot about, but I do agree with ya here.
I think I also said something about seperating the hitscan/pull mechanics ranges would be a good idea when he was released, so I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks that would be beneficial. -
I'm just happy my Town Watch's Torch/Dried Horse Meat combo isn't ruined by having jailer nerfed.
Everything else is very much appreciated though. -
Playing both sides, my biggest gripe is that they're infinite with just a cooldown. Charges wouldn't have hurt this item, especially if everyone brings one. Can't speak for accessibility issues though, I don't personally have an issue with it.
But, otherwise, I agree with your post. Using them that way is the smartest way to go about it. Maybe have scratch mark/aura stopping/grunts of pain reduction be addons too? I'm still debating that nerf personally.
Oh, and changes to how it interacts between maps different lighting. That makes a HUGE difference. Try comparing the smoke in Dead Dawg to Nostromo Wreckage to see what I mean. -
Stuff like this is why I dropped playing her, sadly. Good demonstration.

Unfortunately I cannot draw you a crayon diagram to explain it but I'm gonna take your hand and walk you through it.
When you are exposed you take one hit and go down, yes? Are you in agreement? Good. When you are in mending you take one hit and go down. Yes? Are you following? It has nothing to do with mindgames or looping in either instance. Exposed does not hinder your looping and neither does mend. Do you comprehend this?
Wonderful. You're doing very very well.
Now ghoul looks at you from half the map away and puts you in mend. You have no agency in this. Even nurse has to line up a hit to take the health state. There is a degree of agency even there though not much. Ghoul provides ZERO agency in this. There is nothing a survivor can do to avoid being a one hit down. Considering his insane mobility and anti loop your counter looping options are extremely limited. You mindgame and leave loop. Ok, now he's on your ass cancel power and you're down. You mindgame and stun him. Ok he scampers the pallet and you're down. You take the long side of the loop ok he slings himself on your ass and you're down. Are the pieces of the puzzle coming together? Does the killer feel fair?
Good to see we're both in agreement auto-aim is annoying, as per my first post had you read that.
Second, you're still not understanding. No matter how you view it, exposed =/= mend. You can play with crayons all you like to try and explain your reasoning, but the fact is you still have a chance to reach a loop and mindgame a ghoul as compared to being downed and hooked in relatively the same time.
Really, I'm just reading some defeatist takes on being put into mend. I'd recommend reading my first post. -

I said it is essentially being exposed, not factually being exposed. Then I explained why it's functionally the same thing. Your rebuttal is.... Nothing. "Just loop lol". Obviously impossible versus this broken killer, especially with one health state.
It's still not essentially being exposed, since you can still loop and mindgame. If it was essentially being exposed, you wouldn't have even had the chance to be cut off like in the clip above and already have been on hook. And yes, that makes a big difference.
And no, I didn't say 'just loop' I said pay attention to what the Ghoul is doing to the best of your abilities. And as it was said before, that loop in particular is a bit of a death trap and yet I could still see where a survivor can waste more of the killer's time before going down had they played correctly.
Sometimes, in situations like that, wasting time is valuable for the others to do gens. Even if it's a few more seconds. -

Functionally what makes it different than being exposed? You can't dead hard because of mend. You're not getting a mend off in chase. You're performing the chase with one health state. Every other killer in the game has to actually do stuff to get that kind of value. Ghoul looks at you, you get stunned, injured and deep wounded. The survivor can do nothing about this. It feels vastly unfair. The comparisons to legion are superficial at best and disingenuous at worst. Legion has to actually traverse to your location, has to respect pallets and can be stunned out of power. Ghoul literally vaguely looks in your direction and half the chase is over.
Exposed means downed even when healthy, and mending, you can still waste the killer's time if you're decent at looping and mindgames. That's a big difference in a game where time means everything.

She didn't double back because she was wary of scamper, which would have gotten the hit. Instead she went around the loop(supposed ghoul counterplay) and got hit anyway. Thrilling gameplay.
I'm always going to hate ghoul as long as he looks in your direction and immediately wins half the chase. You're essentially permanently exposed vs a killer with insane chase and antiloop. It's dumb as hell.
Scamper wouldn't have mattered if she stayed near the long end of the loop. Sure it's fast, but once he's in scamper animation you move to the other side of the loop and can still benefit from the pallet being there.
And it's less that you're permanently exposed, and more that it's a long range Legion strike. That's fine to hate, but it ain't exposed. -

I remember you. You have a clip where you're bouncing off walls in midwich when all you had to do was eat the stun and scamper.
Just like this clip. All you had to do was scamper the pallet but the only way you can enjoy this broken ass killer is to put yourself through gymnastics. This stuff looks fancy but ultimately it's not because the survivor had one choice: stay at the loop. If they leave you catch up and cancel. You can sling yourself to the other side of the map and back but it's just set dressing because the survivor has zero agency against ghoul.
Watching the clip above, I can't say the Ada didn't have agency in that situation.
Even just watching, the Ada could have double backed instead of committing to the loop during the second use of his power when he was leaving the loop for a second, forcing the Ghoul to either A. move back around the corner and continue the loop, B. Vault the pallet to attempt to cut off the Ada or C. Cancel and save a charge and return to looping. And while it would have been easier to just break the pallet when the Ada is on the wrong end, a skilled play like that was extremely beneficial for saving time since the Ada didn't predict the outcome.
In the moment, it could feel like you'd have no options, but looping a good Ghoul requires fast thinking when he's in frenzy like that. Obviously it's a case-by-case scenario, but that clip above, I see the options the Ada had.
Edit: Wait, can Ghoul even save charges? I actually never payed attention. Regardless, point C. would still just be cancel and return to loop to try and keep Ada there. -

Agreed, but his cancel shouldn't be nerfed. If anything it should be incentivized, It's much more engaging than boring vault gameplay. It's damn annoying in the open but that's his strength. He forces you to position correctly and have a solid plan.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/G0LFHV4HXNID/very-cool.gif
I mean look at this. You could argue this clip in particular would've still been possible with a harsher CD, but that depends on the loop and how the survivor paths. I've hit many cool trickshots that would've missed if I were waiting any longer. (not my clip)
What Ghoul needs is a fix to kidnap, reduced injure range (8-10 meters, was 14)
And an increase to his environment range (revert nerfs including range addon)
His ranges should be separate, currently his injure and environment ranges are unified.Okay while I just said his cancel should be looked into, that cutoff was pretty sick.
-
Personally, I do yield that autoaim is a bit annoying, especially with it locking you in place.
But, I also play Ghoul on and off, and understand why and how his power works. Not denying he's S tier, but he does have a few flaws, like greeding pallets when he attempts to plan a vault once you drop it, or hugging loops tight to deny his slide and cancel. And just because he can get a free hit doesn't always mean he can down the survivor, much like Legion, though he DOES have better options.
That said, from playing him myself, the few things I could say that would need some tuning is the cancel cooldown should be half a second or a second longer because it really is far too easy to cut off survivors, as well as better tells when he's aiming his power because it can be pretty subtle at times, and his effectiveness to return to hooks is massive, but to be fair Nurse and Blight, as well as Hillbilly to an extent aren't excluded from that complaint nor can it be changed in a fair way for both sides.
In conclusion, do NOT give Ken the SM treatment. Think the changes through carefully. -
It's pretty bad when I'm noticing people drop the us vs them mentality in some places and respond with 'Wait a second, this x bug/change is actually bad for everyone' like with chases not starting or the entirety of the clown changes.
I honestly think BHVR should rethink their stance on having a project health update at this point, even though I know budget wise it'd be a problem. At least have a time focused on bugs and code optimizing or something. -

Yeah, the information floor you have to be at to have fun is really high relative to other games. It's not mechanically demanding at all, you just have to have enough learned and stored game sense. When you've been playing for years it's easy to lose sight of that. The new player experience must suck out loud at this point.
But I also enjoy playing both sides a great deal (and yes, solo queue) most of the time. I definitely have moments, even when I'm playing well, where I ask myself why I am doing it.
But as far as how to have fun in DBD over the long term, there are two ways, imo:
- Play an S/A-tier killer or in a 4-man comms squad and sweat your balls of to negate risk of losing
- Don't take this unserious game seriously, and play for the lulz
Couldn't say it better myself, you nailed it.
-
I still have fun playing both sides, idk.
People say you have to be insane to enjoy the game, but really, once you hit a level of understanding it becomes fun. The real issue is the game takes a LOT of time to understand. -
I'd say Sadako, judging that she's the only P100 I have

Second Idea I have for the second half was to increase exposed status effect by 10 seconds if they had a set timer. Downside is that only one survivor can be downed at a time then the perk deactivates. Only perk to nullify this is Haunted Grounds.
That sounds plausible. I could think of a game afoot/furtive chase build that could pair well with.
-
Same with BNPs.
I consistantly have over 40 BNPs and yet always outta wire spools. -
My question is, why not just have it remove a charge every time it's knocked outta their hands if they're changing how it works, when it comes to items with set charges?
Not really the best option, but at least it's something. -
Most of the lesser used ones, really. But if I had to choose one on either side…
Survivors, Visionary, which isn't the perk's fault, it was the changes to Deja Vu. Still, badly designed in this era.
And on killer side, I'd go with Shattered Hope. I don't really need to explain that one, I'd say. -
-
I chose the option because we have a massive amount of humanoid killers already and I want more creepy monsters.
Werewolf or otherwise. -
I'm trying to think, but I'm pretty sure I've faced everyone at least once.
I do know my lowest is Hag because I still don't really know how to handle facing a good hag. -
👁️
-
I still play Drac from time to time, love me some wolf/undetectable shenans.
Though recently I've been trying out a lot of Lich, Unknown and Kaneki. As well as Sadako whenever I can. -
Probably Sadako, since I am probably one of the very few who liked playing her 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 versions and playing against each version of her too.
Close second is Dracula though. -
I feel it's sporadic and has something to do with spaghetti coding.
Obviously the ones hiding all the time will see it more often, but I spent 3 hours running builds trying to make it happen. Then, I play duos with a friend off stream and she's getting them running a built to last build, and the weird thing is I also was running a similar build and didn't get crows. -
I've had script abusers on anon mode get banned after I report them.
The real problem is they don't get banned fast without also supplying video evidence, and on top of it, stuff like the epic giveaway and such give them more accounts to do this on. -
Personally I wanna see escape rate/killrate statistics for each map
-
At ease.
-
I'll at least say, some doors face away and this won't be an issue. But in the case of the video, yes, that is subtle and pretty sad.
-
I think it shouldn't have the axe stick to recently unhooked survivors to prevent the auto-grab mechanic being abused for tunneling, but otherwise it's great to face/play so far imo.
Though, the axe does get stuck in the air in a few places it shouldn't. That's a map issue though. -
I'll speak on the crows first, as I didn't get to test the anti-go next stuff before the killswitch.
I spent 3 hours+ on stream trying to get crows. No sabo builds mind you, but I tried:
Boons and cleansing hexes
Stealth with fixated and urban evasion
And healing builds with unhooking and healing
Not a single crow in 3 hours. I've seen videos of people getting them, so I don't think people are lying, I just think there's spaghetti code in some instances where crows appear when they shouldn't. If so, it's not intentional from my tests. Heck, I spend a match doing half of it using urban evasion to get around and no crow.
Edit: Twitch is Voidlines if anyone wants to check, but keep in mind my mic audio hasn't been the best, still diagnosing it and my audio mixing, first few matches even had the audio swapped in my ears and was making me look crazy lmao. -
His axe doesn't feel as oppressive imo.
I've dodged shots I felt should have hit, in my opinion. It's fine, though, it's not in a bad place hitbox wise. -

I have been on the lookout, but since Tuesday I haven’t gotten a single crow. Not from hiding, not from blessing or cleaning a totem. I have tried it all and tried to push the systems limits but nothing.
I’ll keep trying.Likewise, just about to say the same thing. Currently streaming and trying boon and stealth builds to try and force it more.
Unsure if I can share a stream link to show here, but my twitch username is Voidlines. -

I think I managed to get what would be considerd normal gameplay.
some things to note though
Wesker Had Thrilling and Grim Embrace
Meg was the last stack of grim
I did not touch the eastern gen because of Thrilling
I could not do any gen when Grim Activated.
Me and Sheva were second stage and did not want to trade with meg; or farm her for that matter.
I know the crow did not make a big deal, but considering I feel the play I did was nessesary it feels like I should not have gotten one. This is more for education purposes, because I had a tough time not forcing the crows.
I know it's long, but I feel it paints a better picture, if you guys have any complaints feel free to discuss what I did wrong me as well.
Perfect video to see this happen in real time.
I don't think you did anything wrong here either. And it's similar to how survivors played against me yesterday, so now I wonder if the survivors I faced did get crows, but I had no indication of it from my end.
Regardless, this is exactly what I needed to see, and you shouldn't have gotten a crow in this case. -
I'll say this as someone who has only been practicing Springtrap this entire update, AND I AM NOT SAYING IT ISN'T HAPPENING, I have yet to have a match where a crow has shown me a survivor's location. I have no idea if anyone is accumulating crows from my PoV.
I'll be practicing survivor today to see what the issues may be, probably even going to stream, but I can say SO FAR, I haven't had it be a boon as killer.Edit: Can see the community hates even suggesting gathering evidence of it. Y'all realize I'm on your side right?
-
BHVR tends to go overboard with some changes, so expect the worst and weather the storm.
That said, given their recent track record, there's hope they'll at least fix things if they go too far. A sliver of hope, but hope nonetheless. -
Well, better late than never I suppose.
-
Unsure how accurate it all is, but I'll take it
-
Confuses me because Babysitter and Unbound were positively approved by the community, and batteries was never really a problem.
-
It's very killer dependent on who this effects. Killers that can down quickly/keep injuries constantly won't really see a dent while already weaker killers who suffer on pressure will suffer worse against these builds. I ran Resurgence/Self Care/Botany/Desperate Measures with a medkit stacked with as much charge as I could (possibly could swap self care with streetwise if you want to focus on just healing with a medkit) and without getting hooked, one medkit could self heal twice by itself with a few charges left over. Not enough to use a syringe I hope, but enough with charge addons to make them quick and easy if the killer gives up chase.
Botony was and still is a good healing perk, and as someone else pointed out, is basically the go-to for most healing builds and will be a staple on all meta healing going forward, and I agree other healing perks should have been buffed instead. -
Tbh, I've had survivors complain more about my productivity than any of my killer allies during 2v8. Especially if I'm already doing fine as Trapper.
-
I actually miss Lights Out, it made survivor really fun for me.
Also, wolf only Dracula was hilarious. -
If I'm going to be honest, none of them.
Some I know I'm not good against, others like Ghoul I know I have to assume my team will probably give up, but I still try regardless. -
RIP survivor players on maps with tall grass, like Swamp.
That said, it would be very fun. -
I hope so, personally.
It's not a popular game mode, but I loved it on both sides. Plus, we have gamma options coming, so people can adjust their monitors better (or just make it bright) and make things easier on whomever needs it. -
Agreed.
Problem is, how do you buff the M1 killers without accidentally buffing the already strong ones?
M1 killer buffs need to be specific to those killers to make sure of that, and if we know BHVR, that takes a lot of time and money. -
I've been pointing this out ever since the Vecna dlc and really noticed how messed up Sadako's TV spawns can be on that map with these offerings. It really needs to be addressed, with a new killer using killer stations and for any future killers that may do the same.

You can hear him from like 20 meters before he arrives wdym undetectable good on him lmao. Are we playing without sound now?
The instant grab is good how? I love the animation, however there is 0 value outside of a cool animation, like its easier to flashlight blind, its dependent on ping, can still be deadharded, how is it good? Its just a flashy m1.
The door grab is funny af cuz its like saying dredge locker grab is strong, that would happen like 1 time in 20 matches.
He is just a better xenomorph and thats not saying much. However he is prob the most cinematic killer to face and olay as.
- You mean like most undetectable killers aside maybe SM?
- Anyone who tried to blind me during that, I just looked away. Could be they were bad though, who knows. And who cares if it can be deadharded, I'd consider that a pretty good tradeoff. Heck, I'm sure the animation is faster than a hit, wipe and pickup.
- The door grab mechanic on Springtrap is much more prevalent than Dredge. I will say smart survivors might not use doors because of the risk, same with lockers and dredge, but comparing the two is kinda funny considering Springtrap's doors are far more reliable transportation than the lockers on more maps because they actually are in decent spots. Something I wish Sadako had for her TVs. Even in the cases where the doors are far from gens, the undetectable helps with sneaking up if you know how to use undetectable.
- I'd agree, a better Xeno. Nothing wrong with that. He doesn't need to be a high tier to be fun to play. And I've gotten some good undetectable plays on the PTB already.
-
I initially thought being able to scan him and give out aura read while he still has a TR was going to be a problem.
But his undetectable game is strong, as an undetectable enjoyer. I was pleasantly surprised and now I understand why he has that counterplay.Well played, BHVR.
