  • Things that make the game more enjoyable to play should never get removed unless it's completely broken. I'd much rather his stupid add-ons got reworked rather than removing something that expands how Blight players can play.

  • Nurse's skill floor is overstated. It takes a while to get used to her blink ranges but it's not that bad. I played Nurse after hearing about how you needed 100 hours before you could even compete against mediocre survivors, but after a few hours I had a feel for her blink ranges and the second blink helped cover for mistakes I made with my initial blink. Once you get her blink ranges down you can go on to ignore the hardest part of the game which is looping.

As awful as she is to play against, I can see why people use her. She is a lot of fun. Blinking around the map feels great. Much more than getting in range and doing an M1.

Although picking Nurse won't fix a 20 losing streak. That requires hard liqueur.

  • So you met some miserable, toxic survivors and decided to join them? Great. Enjoy being miserable and toxic.

  • The perk might be too strong, but it doesn't warrant the hysterics it's getting. The absolute meltdown it has caused is ridiculous.

  • Seeing as the devs asked players whether the Nurse was fair to play against in a recent feedback survey, I'm sure she is getting further nerfs. You just need to wait and find out what they are.

  • I still think making her weaknesses more exploitable whilst keeping her offense intact would be a good idea. That way she still plays the same, but you get more counterplay against her. Like making her scratch blind after fatigue. So it's easier to get away from her. Something like that.

  • I've played Nurse on console and she felt great to me. But I've never played on PC so I wouldn't know the difference.

I like her design. Her power is really fun and feels good to use.

  • Dodging a hatchet and then throwing a pebble at the Huntress' head is always fun. Booping da snoot is probably the best thing in the game.

They may have bad experience, but some people deserve it.

Some players play in a way that creates bad experience for others, then complain when it backfired. Why wouldn't we point that out?

Sure, some players are obnoxious and deserve the attention. But are you seeing that loadout and deciding that they deserved to get hard tunnelled for the entire game? They don't even have a toolbox. I can only assume that you find that loadout to be unfair or toxic, given the "some people deserve it" part. In which case I would disagree.

Since I primarily play Survivor and I remember when someone could be taken down immediately after being unhooked, it was very fun. People had to be much more methodical about unhooking their teammates and not just blindly run in right in front of the killer. The instant takedown risk made for a much more enjoyable and tense game than it is today.

You want to punish the person on the hook because their team mates play like idiots? They have no control over the situation so why punish them?

Yeah, but OP is complaining about tunneling while using gen speed perks...

OP wants to finish his objective faster, so did killer.

I pointed out that seeing someone who has had a lousy experience and walking in and going "But what about me, I'm the real victim, as I suffer more..." is just pathetic. What does gen rushing have to do with that?

Not being exhausted and dropping from a height? Like I said, I can easily concede that actually takes some thought. Just not as much as people like to claim.

You are downplaying any skill required for survivors whilst overstating the skill requirement for killers. In other words, your role requires skill but the survivor role doesn't.

Please explain the drawback. Either you don’t run an exhaustion perk, so you’d never get value anyway, or you do and you get value several times a match. The drawback is what exactly? It has an exhaustion cool-down? Oh no, however will we cope.

You got so annoyed at DBD that you wrote a school report about how killers have to work for what they get, whilst survivors get free handouts. Clearly a coping strategy.

I feel like solo would be so fun if you could see each other's auras at all times, or whatever else absolutely crazy big like that. Don't get me wrong, I'm aware that as it is right now this would be way too strong, and buff almost all SWFs, but I think if killer could be buffed in ways that accounted for it, it would make the game more fun overall. What would those buffs be? Do they ever have a realistic chance of coming to the game? Honestly, idk, but don't get the wrong idea, I am fully aware killers would need to be significantly buffed for such survivor buffs to happen. Now that I hopefully sound less like a survivor main, let me explain a bit more. A big part of what makes swf fun for me is just knowing that stuffs going on, whereas doing a gen solo while playing solo feels very...lonely, but in a swf even if I'm doing a gen solo I just know that stuffs going on and what, I just feel more part of the team. Do you think something like this would make solo more fun? Do you think it's realistic to ever be balanced fairly? Let me know what u think and remember to bring cakes ⭐

I'm not sure if Solo Q needs constant aura reading. But if you did have a system like that, maybe it could just show the aura of other survivors briefly at key moments. Like when a survivor gets downed/hooked or a generator pops. Just enough information to know who is in the best position to serve what function at certain times.

Honestly though, I feel like Solo Q falls apart due to bad matchmaking more than it does from the lack of information. When you get a good group of solo survivors the match is usually pretty winnable. In fact, you can do most things, other than being a massive pain to the killer player (chain blinding/stunning ect). But the matchmaking focuses on reducing wait times, so Solo Q is a mess.

    It's common for survivor players

I feel that there are many players waiting in a state where they can always escape from the gate just by moving forward a little.

    because of these players

I think it should be improved because it is very uncomfortable with the increase in wasted play time

Just hit them and they will slide right over the threshold. It looks amusing and it saves time.

  • Wait, the game was balanced and only when MFT was introduced did it turn into a nightmarish hellscape? You must be really new to the game.

  • Survivors hate being tunneled but killers suffer just as much because they get pallets dropped on them? Why not just make a post complaining about how strong pallet loops are?

You have a choice on how you engage with the match. If you can't get one survivor then go chase another survivor or kick a gen. You still get to play the game. Being tunneled means barely getting to play the game you waited in line for. It's not the same thing, not even close.

There are a bunch of issues for Killers, map design being one of them. Why not make a thread complaining about that instead of comparing two community issues that aren't even remotely similar?

  • So everyone's debating whether teabagging is almost wholey responsible for scenarios where they get slugged, based off one person's personal experience?

You have no clue why individual killer players are slugging. You just assume it's because survivors are being toxic. Why? Why are survivor players inherently toxic but killer players are all good natured, lovely people, who only ever behave in an antisocial manner when provoked by a survivor?

You also mentioned gaslighting, right after you asserted that the primary reason survivors get bled out by killer players is because they teabag. And if survivors were not toxic to the killer then it would almost entirely stop. That's litterally gaslighting.

You shouldn't be offering people advice on how to not get griefed based purely off of a personal hunch. Especially when your personal hunch is that the person getting griefed probably deserved it.

Something that does not get addressed enough is generator speeds. Prove thyself can knock 30 seconds of a gen without a toolbox. While some killers struggle with map pressure it feels like gens pop way too quickly.

The new scavenger perk is extremely concerning as it allow toolboxes to be replenished.

Coconut made a video covering this, while there has been an added slowdown, using the toolbox or having multiple people on the gen will counter that. (https://youtu.be/g0v4xRwvSts)

When multiple people run prove thyself and split into pairs it can become a really big problem as it can be difficult to keep up without losing 2 generators in 30 seconds. Not to mention that it is one of the most used survivor perks.

Could we possibly see either an increase to generator speeds or a nerf to Prove Thyself as it feels like were heading into an ugly genrush meta and this cannot fly under the radar any longer.

Cannot fly under the radar any longer? Have you ever read the front page of the forums? You just took a dump on top of a mountain. Everyone can see the mountain, and you.

  • Nerfs to healing and DH mean it's more dangerous to interact with the Killer, so people just focus on their objectives. You're also always one hook from being face camped or tunneled out the match.

  • @MoNosEmpire said:

The current set of Anti-tunnelling perks are useless in their current state. Most, if not all of them do not do what they are intended for, and that is survivor protection. OTR and FTP are the only two which do what they're designed for, OTR works really well but if you're hit while being unhooked it's useless too, FTP is really good but almost nobody uses this from what I've seen. (I play at different times and different hours too, so if varied data is needed, there you have it). This needs to change.

I would like survivor mains to explain how they feel when they are being tunnelled, explain what they think about the current anti-perk selection and if they actually feel as though it makes a difference to being tunnelled. Bonus points for video posts.

DS just needs it's stun timer increased, or it needs to be usable whenever you are being carried, as 2 seconds in a dead zone is completely useless. It doesn't need to go back to how stupid it was originally, but right now it's too situational to be useful most of the time.

    @mikewelk said:

I think the thing everyone has to realize is that tunneling is basically genrushing. Both are to do with objectives and both make the game miserable for either side. Sometimes you can play perfectly as killer and you'll still be down two gens before you get a single hook. If you asked killers why they tunnel they usually won't say they want to make the game miserable but that it's the only way to actually get gen pressure. Imagine being in that situation and you walk by another gen that has higher than 50% progress. It feels essential to tunnel and camp if you want at least one kill instead of nothing and watching the survivors give a light display at the gate for you because you played fairly. Tunneling needs to be addressed but so does genrushing.

The vast majority of Killers are not playing against SWF squads who are running BNPs and destroying the gens, yet they tunnel anyway. Face it, it's easier to target one person and send them back to the queue than it is to play "fairly".

BHVR are going to nerf toolboxes, there's no way they won't after they nerfed medkits. But it doesn't matter how much you nerf Survivors, tunneling won't go away until the game system makes it unprofitable. If you tunnel someone out and if there's 3-4 gens left the match is practically impossible to lose at that point. There's no incentive to not tunnel.

btw I'm in favour of BHVR nerfing toolboxes. I never bring items to a match unless I have a challenge to do, so they could delete BNPs and I could care less. But people have to stop pretending that any time Killers take the easiest strategy to winning a match, they're only doing it because Survivors make it impossible for them to compete otherwise.

  • Killers don't need a buff to compensate for losing a tactic that almost always causes them to throw the game. If anything this is a buff to Killers, as the game will be reminding you to stop sucking and actually play the game.

  • The change will have a minimal impact for more experienced players, but it will be a godsend for casual/newer players. Most newer Killer players never leave the hook once they get one down, and there's no way a casual team can save them, nor will they just rush the gens. They will just run in and feed the camper as they don't realise that the hooked survivor is effectively out of the game at that point.

It will teach new Killers to not just stand there smacking Survivors on the hook (seeing as the tutorial system explains almost nothing about the game), which will make matches for casual/newer players much better. It will force new Killer players to learn the game and new Survivors won't be stuck in boring, unfun matches that make them stop playing entirely.

  • If BHVR is bringing the rainbow fog, then we'll bring the glitter 🌈

  • As long as the item makes a squeak noise when it hits the clown's nose.

  • It's probably just them goofing. I very much doubt the majority of butt dancers are snickering or laughing maniacally. Streamers do it all the time and they aren't getting agro, they just say "gg" and move onto the next match. They don't seem to exude any hatred towards the Killer, it just seems like they are messing around and having a laugh.

  • I don't think BHVR wants to change how she plays on a fundamental level. Which makes sense as players have spent a lot of time getting good with her. The best thing to ask for is some sort of additional weakness to try and offset her offensive capabilities.

When I did the survey which asked about the Nurse, I suggested they give her temporary scratch blindness after entering fatigue. That way she still plays the same, but Survivors are rewarded more for avoiding her blinks. It would keep her offense intact but would gives Survivors more counterplay.

There may be better ways to weaken her, but that's the best idea I have.

Tell that to the survivors who do nothing but hang around and blind killers. I play this game for my entertainment. It's not even a little bit up to me to ensure that you have a fun match. The fact is, I don't care if you have fun or not. Unless you're a friend then you're nothing more than a bot to me.

How did you ever make friends with an attitude like that? These "friends" are either hypothetical or you're some kind of genie.

  • It's fine to voice an opinion on balance for the game. But it usually starts with "I'm a great player, but I lose to players who are worse than me bacause BHVR favours the other side and doesn't care about meeeeeeeee". There's no point in trying to constructively engage with people who act like this. Just poke the bear, have a quick laugh and move on.

  • The game sadly needs these changes. If these forums are representative of Killer players in general, then they are mostly entitled kids, who scream and cry whenever they don't get their way. They will even disrespect you whilst telling you that it's your fault. Full blown cry bullies.

  • @Blinckx said:

The more I think about it, the more this "mechanics" is stupid and wrong. There are countless occasions where you have two hooks close together, perhaps with a generator in close proximity. Am I now forced to leave a position of total advantage? Not to mention maps like The Game where it's very easy to stay close to the hook even on a different level

Either the radius is really small (at most 2 meters and in this case it ONLY blocks the face camp) or it is unprecedented idiocy

Also this "mecahic" should NOT work on 2nd stage hook, it's beyond ridiculous, plus if you self unhook you have endurance and haste

What else ? teleport ? insta gen repair ? please give me a break

I think the point of the mechanic is to heavily discourage what BHVR views as anti-social behaviour, it's not for the sake of balance. So it makes sense that they would make it available regardless of whether it's the first or second hook state, whilst disabling it entirely when the gates are powered.

  • So they are going to remove the thing Killer players like to do when you hurt their feelings by looping them or hitting them with a pallette? Good change 👍️

  • Teabagging just looks silly.

If you're smacking someone on the hook you legit look like a wannabe psychopath with anger issues.

Excuse my ignorance, but how did Ruin/Undying hurt people with sensory problems?

There's a vast array of conditions which impact cognition. Things that can impact reaction time, such as taking longer to clearly identify the dial against the background. The original Ruin had the potential to place a ridiculous burden on those with cognitive difficulties. Going as far as to make gens inaccessible to some players.

  • I'd usually say that it's up to players to behave better, but this community is so toxic that the devs should probably try and implement changes to limit it lmao

  • The Ruin/Undying meta was badly designed as it walled out new players and players with sensory problems. If it's only harming new players and people with disabilities then the design is just bad.

The 3 Gen meta was just boring. Killer strategies should not include dragging the match out till the other side gives up due to boredom.

I didn't care too much about Scourge Hook. It was just a thing. I get it was hard to handle in solo queue, but loads of things are. You don't see Cenobite getting a rework to make him counterable in solo queue.

I'm happier when Killers can get a down faster rather than extending the match length. Hopefully BHVR focuses more on offensive Killer perks rather than slow down.

  • I'm happy to play any goofy game a killer wants to play. Attempting to raid the chest without getting killed sounds like fun.

  • Wraith isn't a bad killer, nor is he mediocre. People are just very hyperbolic when it comes to referring to tier lists. It's the same with fighting games. You could have a generally very strong roster, but if a character isn't top 10 they are labelled trash.

  • No player should have the ability to stall the match out for an hour. Especially when it requires only two functioning brain cells to achieve. I don't care if they nerf tool boxes next, the 3 gen meta needed to die.

  • I'm glad it's gone. There's not a single bush worth hiding in across the entire map.

  • If a Killer hard tunnels someone out at 4-5 gens I just leave. I'd rather not give points to someone who's going out of their way to ruin the match for everyone.

The point mentioning tunneling always having an excuse is bang on. If you start out the match hard tunneling someone, you aren't doing it because you have to. You're doing it for one of two reasons:

    1. You care more about winning than enjoying the experience with the other players.

    2. You really want the other players to have a bad time because you're sad and miserable.

Good Killer players don't hard tunnel at 5 gens because they don't need to. But if you so much as drop and pallette on a bad Killer player and dodge their power for 60 seconds before going down, they face camp you and then come to the forums to say that Survivor players are toxic after getting teabagged at the gates for acting like an entitled brat.

  • I met a classy Booba last night, and I praised him as such.

  • Ban people for running in a circle? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • Well, it hasn't happened yet. But you might as well just assume it's gonna happen. That way you can feel annoyed before and after the nerf has occurred. That's like double the annoyance. Bargain.

  • Yeah, this thread is pretty misleading. Most Killer players will never even play against a professional team. Let alone one of, if not the strongest team in the world.

  • @illNicola said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/371796/camping-tunnelling

This is community's fault. 99% of main suvs want to see all gen defense perks dead (Obviously without killing prove thyself, bpn and toolboxes), so the killers have to adapt by tunneling and camping. It's community's fault, and also devs' fault because they care only about one side (survivors) and don't even play killer in public matches against the top of the top swf.

It's your fault that you keep complaining about things that aren't even unbalanced, causing unnecessary nerfs. Now enjoy the consequences, killer must tunnel and camp to win because they know that gens go too fast. If gens go fast, killer must kill fast no?

I think Killers consistently sitting on a 3 gen, dragging the match out past 30 minutes might have had something to do with the regression perks getting nerfed.

Same with healing. Killers spammed anti-healing perks during the PTB, making every match a grindy, obnoxious nightmare. So the devs changed it. Both Killer and Survivor players abuse whatever they can in game. When that happens, the devs change it. It might take them years to do so, but they do.

There's no way that the devs are not looking at toolboxes. I can almost guarantee that a nerf will appear at some point. I'd even wager it will happen this year.

Honestly, the fact that your response to someone, who essentially was not able to play the game for nine matches straight is basically "You deserve it, because some survivors gen rush", is just sad. No matter how badly I get griefed by toxic Killer players, I still genuinely feel bad when I see one getting trolled and tea bagged by an organised SWF group.

People really need to stop giving themselves permission to not feel any empathy for the other side. The toxic part of this community is very loud, but it's a small minority. The vast majority of players you encounter are decent people who just want to have some fun.

  • @GravelordNito99 said:

Killers cant regress , dont get reward for chase . Only thing killer gets from chase is bully from pallets and bodyblocks

    Regress perks dead

    Hex perks dead

    Scourge hook perks dead

    What choice is left ....

How many posts are you gonna make saying the same thing?

Your posts sound so pathetic and self-pitying. Over what? A computer game. Incredibly sad. Grow up.

  • Anyone saying that people playing with friends are cheating for a competitive advantage is way too sweaty and bitter. Most SWF's are just people of varying skill levels playing a game with their friends. Bully Squads are definitely a thing but they are probably the smallest sub-group on the game and no serious person is gonna defend how they treat killer players.

I sympathise with anyone who has the game's mechanics used to intentionally grief them, whether that be bully squads stun locking the killer for 30 minutes straight or a new survivor getting face camped out of the game before they get to play or even learn anything. But if the game's balance is so bad that it results in you making hysterical posts about how the other side gets to win for free and your side is always being mistreated, then you should definitely leave and play something else. There's no need for you to stick around and fight to make the game better for everyone (It's just a game and the world will be on fire in a decade or two, so who cares).

Just leave and try to enjoy something else.

How is it fair to call buffs to all those things you described?

You cant use Dead hard in the first chase, only 2 uses max, still has all the conditions it previously had(be injured, not exausted, not deep wounded) and you still need to time the 0.5 window.

Altruistic healing was changed to 16sec, self heal with medkits remains at 24 and all med addons were nerfed.

The main strength of COH (infinite self heal) was removed. The 100% altruist heal bonus was given so you can at least consider booning a totem instead of a running botany or desperate measures.

And pain resonance was given a buff with 25%.

It's not meant to be a fair statement. They use inflammatory language and omit information so they can justify making a post to complain.
