So everyone wants survivors to stop rushing gens, have games be longer, and make survivors do chases more

So tell me how removing and changing every tile that has some survivor sided advantages is a good way to get survivors to get into chases? The more BHVR nerfs survivor perks and items, the HARDER they make it for solo survivors for a survivor or two to carry their team

The more survivors will queue up as SWFs, the more often they'll bring their strongest addons, the more often they'll just rush generators. Because at this point its really all they can do, all the perks and equipment survivors used to be able to last in prolonged matches has been removed. Games are decided now within 3 minutes by whether the killer goes on a downing roll or the survivors are able to rush out generators

Causing survivors to have even LESS fun and things to use in a chase, IS not going to motivate them into doing chases, they are just going to keep rushing generators because that's the only way to win now. I can't understand how people want the survivors to have negative advantage in every chase with a killer and then complain that all that survivors do nowadays is rush the generators and barely get into chases if they can help it

Maybe this mentality and nerfing spree has SOMETHING to do with it

Because you cant convince people to get into chases when they dont want to. What you can do is make it so a single chase doesnt take 5 mins with decent tiles, promoting NEW chases frequently.

  • Oh oh! Ive got one!

Play the game however you want, as long as it's not hacking or exploiting, because THESE RULES ARE IMAGINARY AND IN NO WAY AFFECT THE GAME. It's a game. Play it, enjoy it, repeat. If you have to follow made up rules, to believe that others will, just to have fun, maybe play something else. Its obvious you dont enjoy the game if you have to add rules and guidelines for people to follow that in no way are actual rules.

  • The entire game is non competetive. Rank is a matchmaking tool AT ITS BEST.

KYF/ Custom game exists to see maps and test things.

    Next.

  • No. Because they are punished. By the pip system AND the survivors if you're good, doing gens, and not throwing yourselves AT A FACECAMPER.

Learn that while it sucks, if someone is facecamped, your BEST BET is to just do gens. If the killer is gonna camp, they're gonna camp, but NOT seeing anyone coming for them usually tempts them to move about. Seeing someone move up GUARANTEES they wont leave.

  • Dude if teabagging upsets you in a game, you need to find a new game or a new hobby.

I'd love to see these people in the original CoD:MW lobbies. Youd all cry yourselves to sleep trying to play there...

  • Well, if you looped them for 5 gens, and got one hooked you didnt:

-Do any objective work. Gens, totems.

-Save or heal anyone. No altruism, no unhooks, etc.

-Didnt escape, meaning 0 survival points.

Meaning you likely made just over 8000/9000 points, all in boldness. Which will not pip you.

It's unfortunate you got face camped, but if you looped him for 5 gens, hes not going to walk away during endgame.

I'm not saying you played badly, but that's why you de popped. You didnt play to their system.

That being said, the pips don't matter, rank doesnt matter, and matchmaking is a mess, soooo who the ######### cares about pips?

  • @Shocktober said:

Nothing like not seeing or dumping on the killer for the entire game only to get 1 shot and die on your first hook. I still think it's the biggest crutch in the game.

Imagine not reading the post just to write about how you're biased.

Honey, NoED is only a crutch if you dont do ######### bones. Let's talk about DS/BT/Rancor, way before we start to tall about a perk that can be negated completely, and isnt useable until end game.

I'd like to reply, but I need to preface with the fact I couldn't care less about someone squatting repeatedly. I find these conversations fascinating to some degree. Heck, the player could have a twitch in their pinky finger for all I know. I only learned it was supposed to be teabagging after so many people "made it so" on the forums. The fact is, simulated sexual assault just isn't funny, cool, or particularly insulting. I'd wager far more people have been sexually assaulted in the world than have been hacked up or tossed onto a meat hook. To me, that should factor in as a consideration somewhere. Still, it shouldn't be reportable. I crouch a couple of times as a quick "thank you" to other survivors when they heal me or whatnot. Since I have no friends that is really the only way I have to communicate.

    But...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234577#Comment_1234577

I also agree with this. After all, I don't think it's toxic at all to hit someone after hooking them. I use it as more of a "Hah! I got you" after a long or annoying chase than trying to be a jerk. But, then again, I don't tunnel or face camp. I'm sure if I did, that would make a difference. Once I learned it was considered toxic behavior, I stopped doing it though. In the real world I refrain from casual profanity even though it doesn't particularly bother me because... well, it's the least I can do to promote a better existence for some folks so... why not?

It's funny... I actually thought someone hitting me with a flashlight after dropping a pallet was trolling until I realized you get points for hitting with the flashlight. Plus, I can clear the pallet while my vision clears so it doesn't hurt me in any way.

As with most things in life, it is what we make it. I've decided I couldn't care less if someone wants to show me the kind of person they are in real life. I won't likely have to deal with them again beyond the confines of the match so, really... I choose to not let it bother me. I believe if more people made that particular choice the community would be perceived as much less toxic.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1234909#Comment_1234909

Your name is apt, but let's be real. Survivors need to be able to crouch, so a teabagging nerf is not the brightest suggestion. I would wager, however, that anyone who needs to stimulate themselves through simulated sexual assault are the ones in need of therapy, not those bothered by it. Though, those who allow themselves to be bothered by it ought to find some perspective and stop giving others so much power over them.

Simulated sexual assault? Jesus christ you people are reaching. Its pixels in a game. Some people like to bounce like chickens, and some teabag from the old ass days of Halo. It's not remotely a sexual thing anymore.

The people who need help are the ones who let peoples actions, INSIDE A GAME, THAT DOES NOT AFFECT THE GAME AT ALL, affect them to the point of being upset outside of the game. Regulate your emotions. Talk to a therapist if you need to. But dont blame "teabagging" for why you're upset. It's a ######### video game. Grow up.

  • @LALYTHIA said:

My thoughts are that asking the question ONLY about survivors, and leaving out every action a killer does to illicit the same effect, shows bias. I am not into that - at all.

Have you not been around more than a month?

Patch notes read this: weve changed ruin because it is FRUSTRATING AND NOT FUN FOR NEW SURVIVORS.

    Yeah, they're SUPER killer sided.

The fact that theyre asking about how teabagging affects the game (heres a hint, it doesnt) is ridiculous.

If someone finds a way to be upset or offended about crouching repeatedly, they will ALWAYS find something to be pissy about. Because it doesnt actually affect you at all. They just need an outlet for their personal frustrations, emotions, and so on, and need a scapegoat instead of just accepting that it's a game and why tf should it bother you.

So, like every other leaked skin, it probably won't be changed at all......

    But ooookay.

What would fix HillBilly is fixing the hit-box problem that exists in general. The one where you vault a window and the Killer still hits you 2 metres away.

That's less hitbox problem more dedicated servers/latency because of killer side hit detection. If it hits on killer side, it hits regardless. Even if on your end you've taken 3 steps.

  • Neither does hitting on hook. Unless the killer has to ONLY play by your rule book and ways of victory. If they dont care about pips or anything other than their current kill, it also, has LITERALLY no downsides. Because it's what they WANT.

Not exactly, tbagging after a stun or while a killer breaks a pallet is precious time you could have been gaining distance and extending your chase, and allowing you to waste more killer time in chase as teammates do gens. Tbagging keeps you still and trims your chase down, even if it's not immediately noticeable.

Especially if you do it instead of running around the loop back and forth. If you're SITTING THERE, the killer is GOING to break the pallet. If you stay moving, sometimes they try to mindgame you first. That's free chase time is you dont teabag and wait.

  • Like when survivors teabag at a pallet literally waiting for it to be broken instead of running? Those kind of pointless animations?

Also, sometimes a killer literally hits you to stop your screaming. Its annoying as #########. Now if they KEEP hitting you, who tf cares? Does It really offend you? Probably not. Is it wasting their time? Sure. So why tell them that? Why tell them how to play better? Oh, because I'm assuming you keep having it happen to you and actually let it bother you. For some reason....

  • Nope, they're on PC and forced themselves into it.

I had a LEGACY Hillbilly moving 2x speed. On ps4. Which is beyond impossible.

  • I'm literally not going to read the novel, because killers being pay to win is a stupid ######### observation to make. Period.

    THEYRE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ROLES.

AND THE PERKS ARE IN THE SHRINE.

So considering that, it's not pay to win. Its (if anything) pay to play your way faster than grinding.

It takes a decent amount of time to set uo a trap. Also he cant carry that many traps so he have to waste ALOT of time with collecting traps and setting them up. If survivors are smart they wont step in traps that easily.

Not if The trapper is smart in picking up and placing, and doesnt just WANDER the map looking for traps.

  • @leyzyman said:

    Just get better ears....

Ok, I'm kidding on that one, and I can understand the complaint. If only DBD had some sort of menu that could help with issues that people have, from FOV to colorblindness.

And I know that it would give killers a bigger advantage, but I wouldn't mind a buff like that to make it possible for some people to enjoy the game.

FOV isnt an impairment in game, adjusting that would be a literal advantage. Colorblindness is another thing altogether.

And yes. Let us alter the game sounds so we can sound whorr even MORE than before....

It sucks that it affects people in adverse ways when they have impairments, but just allowing settings to be changed invites abuses by those who are not affected by an impairment.

Slugging isn't toxic. Leaving all 4 survivors on the ground is, in which case you should record and report.

Except, it's not toxic, OR reportable. Its FOUR ######### MINUTES.

If you're upset about or cant lose 4 minutes of your day, dont even queue up. Waiting for a game takes longer than bleeding out.

  • @kate_best_girl said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1228521#Comment_1228521

No I dont think slugging is toxic in itself I think being camped, tunneled, then slugged so they avoid DS is toxic.

Slugged to avoid DS. What the ######### are they supposed to do? Just LET you hit them and chase some more? If they know/assume you have DS, no smart killer (except for killers who can GUARANTEE the down again in <30s) would willingly let you DS them, just because its "not toxic".

  • You cant lose 4 minutes of your day?

And then take it personally as toxic behavior?

Maybe you should just try a different game that isnt so emotionally draining if having to sit for FOUR MINUTES is so terrible.

Toxicity is WHY DC bans exist.

  • @MPUK said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1217087#Comment_1217087

I wouldn't know that at all as I have never camped/tunnelled anyone. I'm playing a game, I'm not going to play in a manner where I desperately seek any form of attention. I think a LOT of people who play killer forget that this is a game and come out with bollocks excuses like "That's what a killer would do though, prioritise the kill" well:

    1. You're not a killer, you're someone playing a game so stop talking bollocks.

    2. A killer wouldn't have to hook someone 3 times in order to please their master.

    3. People wouldn't be running around injured after coming off a hook and being fully healthy after someone gives them a few body rubs.

It is stupid excuses used by desperate players. The queue is longer for survivors, yes, you are correct and yet killers who can hop straight in to another game are happy to tunnel and mori someone out of the game within minutes because it makes them feel like they are good at the game and yet they are the first to cry about how short games are when they get beaten.

Your point about toolboxes? Oh no.... they're going to repair 10% of a gen 4 seconds quicker than what they could have done without it. That's so OP and definitely equivalent to an ebony mori.

Flashlights are there to be used by survivors, you getting triggered by someone clicking one at you or heaven forbid using it as intended is your problem, not a game problem. Same goes for teabagging, who ######### cares that someone is pressing crouch repeatedly?????

Old ruin promoted ######### killers to red ranks too. The devs have pretty much stated that when saying you will now level out at your correct rank rather than relying on ruin to support you. See I can spin the bollocks you post back on you? Yet you'll make excuses as to why it is ok for you to play like a prick and ruin games for people because that's what you want to do. You also don't get any longer on the hook when the killer stands there as you claimed earlier in your post. It is exactly the same unless you have camaraderie equipped.

Of course this thread triggers a response from me playing both sides. I have been repeatedly camped and tunnelled as a survivor and I don't camp or tunnel people when I am a killer. So why should I stay quiet about what a #########, desperate play it is? Your bias is showing Joshy.

Wow imagine taking irl concepts and trying to force them into a game.

Ofc you wiuldnt have to hook someone 3 times as a killer. But IT'S A ######### GAME. It needs mechanics and objectives.

Also, old ruin does the same thing it does now, only worse. It still promotes SURVIVORS TO LEARN WHERE BONES ARE, even though they to longer have a reason to learn great skill checks. The only difference, is now good survivors have an EASIER time with ruin, and newer survivors have no reason to learn its counterplay.

    Also, DO ######### BONES.

Also, if being camped and tunneled "triggers" this kind of response, maybe you should try playing something else. Because it's going to happen. And if you and your teammates arent working around/punishing it, theres really. Nothing to complain about.

If YOU play YOUR GAME well, and ignore the bullshit, and dont DC, you'll rank up past the people who face camp all day. Because that doesnt get you very high.

  • I mean, its like 95% because you're on mobile. It's all newer players, with less perks, and on a ######### platform for the game. If someone willingly plays on mobile instead of console/pc, it is LIKELY due to easier games/easier fuckery.

Why would you expect them to leave the hook, when they would have to play and search for others, ON A PHONE. it's easier to stand still, especially when not using a gamepad/KBM.

  • If all survivors could hide inside each other, they would do just that. 4 people in one bush, behind one rock. They would be able to hide with no fear of "theres notnroom for 4 of us, theyll see''.

They could stack up and prevent the killer from hitting their intended target.

They could all jump the same window or pallet at the same time.

None of which makes sense or is balanced at all.

Besides, even if they changed THAT, ######### people will find a way to be #########. Theyll hide and run pebble, point you out in lockers, etc.

Tl;Dr: it prevents more bullshit game breaking possibilities than it causes problems. It's the people, not the mechanics you have an issue with.

  • Right....

Except you cant nerf the parts of swf you want nerfed without ruining the game for solo, or for people who just want to play with friends. And that's information/voice.

So the only thing you CAN do, is balance and buff ALL killers to compete with swf, and THEN BUFF solo to match.

Nerfing swf would do nothing to help solo players, and piss off people who arent sweaty try hard because they're penalized for playing with friends.

  • @Splinterverse said:

A DC for the hatch doesn't guarantee that the remaining survivor will find the hatch. And it's not the remaining survivor's fault that the other one DC'ed. The person who DC'ed is going to be punished by the DC penalty. No need to punish the other survivor; both you and that survivor have a chance at that point -- it's a hatch race.

There are TOO many killers that can simply ruin your chances of escaping through the gates when you are the only one left and the gates are closed. Billy can race between them. Trapper and Hag can trap them up. Spirit and Oni can get to them quickly. Wraith can cloak and wait near them. There are a number of killers that I don't even try to open the gate around. There needs to be that third option (the hatch). Be thankful you can close that hatch and move on. That's good enough with everything else I described.

I like your optimism, and I support the DC penalties, but they're way to easy to manipulate/ too lenient.

In the last 3 days, I've DCd about 7 times ONCE I WAS AT THE EXIT AND SAFE, to see how it progresses. I think I saw :30 (from 4:30 of watching the last survivor), 3 or 4 mins, same thing, and at most 12 or 13 mins from a 15 ban that was running.

Heres what I don't get. The next day I DC first game, same thing, to see how bad it is. I dont get one. Next game it's an under 5 min ban.

So while they do exist, they either lower WAY too fast, or reset daily, or MAYBE weekly, as it was tuesday/Wednesday when it lowered.

Still. DC penalties are a good idea, but their implementation is lacking.

  • @Raulillo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/144563/why-is-dc-tech-still-a-thing

The game lacks of a way to handle 1v1 when you have killed the rest of the survivor team. This is not a team-based game, it's better to cooperate but it's not like football that if you win your teammates win. Each individual player has it's own win condition, and hatch exists to grant that win scenario if a survivor remains in the trial alone. This is a separate thing from keys mechanics when you can open it before it's intended to open.

If you remove hatch from the game a lot of people (me included) will DC or give up after 2-3 people are down/hooked, because there are certain scenarios when you just can't be altruistic. It wouldn't be fun for survivors. I don't know about you, but i prefer to win against 4 people trying that winning against 2 people trying and 2 giving up. Also when people give up games are too quick to be enjoyable because the game can end fast when they die on hook.

The situation that you are using as your main point to explain why hatch should be removed is just a weird/edge interaction that doesn't happen often. I have played against a lot of survivors in all ranks and I don't remember being upset with that. As Killer I always look for the hatch, where it is and if someone have spotted it. Also patrolng near the hatch when you have been missing a survivor for too much time it's a good idea too. Or prioritize generators near the hatch so you can patrol the same area. Also you can injure people so you can grab them as they are escaping through hatch.

You cant grab out of hatch. For like 6 months or a year now.

That was changed when killers were finally able to close it.

Both changed to stop standoffs. If they could grab you, you'd just take a hit first, because they cant close it.

If they can close it AND grab you, theres almost zero chance, and theyd just sit and watch while you ddo gens.

So killers can close it if you're not fast enough, but they cannot grab you out of it anymore.

  • @venom12784 said:

Disagree remove the hatch will only make hold the game hostage.

Yeah which is why it was put in at all.

Every time I see a killer complain about "hatch is unfair it's a free escape this is bullshit" I just laugh hysterically. Like, yeah, it IS a free escape, because the alternative is hide and seek for an hour.

Plus, in that one sentence you said it yourself. "Free escape, bullshit". So why does it bother you at all? It's obvious youd won and it happened because a necessary mechanic exists, so why take it personally like you were a bad killer?

My favorite is when a 4k does end with 1 hatch escape, and then they message the "gg ez". I hit em with ,"Bravo! You leaving for free because survivors refuse to work when being the last alive is sooooOOOOOooooo impressive."

How many are 1v4. 2? Or is LN 1v5.

It's like saying club penguin is "the most popular penguin sim that bans you for nothing".

While technically true, it doesnt exactly speak to the merits of the game....just an easily attainable status by technicalities.

You should never get burned as wraith, it's just a waste of flashlight since all you have to do is just circle around and they can't burn you.

Impossible to burn a nurse, lets be honest. Who even tries?

Why remove one of the only counterplays that hag has besides the time wasting slow as hell crouching? You can disarm trapper traps, you can disarm hag traps.

I mean, it's really not impossible to burn a nurse. Especially when shes committed to you and holding blinks to mindgame you.

  • I mean, you cant crouch to avoid trapper traps, and he cant carry 10 that regenerate when used/lost. So no.... they need a hard counter.

Besides, more times than not survivors dont have time to disarm them unless it's either in front of a lit totem (obvious), a hooked survivor (obvious), or they watch you place it mid chase.

Randomly placed traps in the map almost NEVER get disarmed. Just the obvious ones.

That's 2.2 mil right there without the dailies and any archives you havent claimed.

The only reason you should leave the game intentionally is if you have no other choice for say something in real life.

By buying the game along with all the DLC you simply have a license to play which can be revoked at anytime and aknowledge the rules they set in the eula which can be changed anytime to make the game better for all.

No it isnt. There's no disconnect penalty on console.

Uhm. Yes there is? Oh you mean XBOX.

You know there are more than one console, right?

I dont think so. The game is pretty much slightly killer sided . I think most are just playing wrong and lack common sense or are they not(which is most likely) . Most just pretend it to be opposite way i think.

    So no pictures. Got it.

First of all, not only the killer hits you a mile away, the hillbilly's chainsaw is broken it's like they got there "dedicated servers" from the dollar store and they also want to nerf the gens good job Behavior.

So your complaints come from the servers or lag. Which has nothing to do with killers except that hits register on their side.

That's not killers being op. It's just bad connection. Killers are not op atm...hate to break it to you.

But considering you have 1 post with a throwaway name, I think we both know you're just trolling/salty.

  • Lol Balanced Landing nerf? Hahahahahahahahahah. Wow people still think that was a nerf and not a needed balance change.

Also, you can SILL USE THAT LOOP with balanced. You just cant abuse it.

  • They get kills while camping because SURVIVORS CONTINUE TO THROW THEMSELVES AT THE HOOK INSTEAD OF DOING GENS.

They're not punished because altruistic survivors feed it. Simple.

Sorry but there really isn't a ton of advice or steps, it really is just 'hit them'. Just look at them and hit, follow them with your camera.

Following with camera is why 360s work. You look one way, they go the other. Sidestep them. Block with your body and they cant get behind you.

  • My best tip is to sidestep. When they start the turning, sidestep with them instead of turning camera. Even if they juke you a little, you have a good chance of bodyblocking them when they try to get behind you and you dont lose them on screen.

Its probably the best thing I've noticed to use. Once I saw killers doing it to me, it went straight into my "how to stop your 360 bullshit" book.
