true but it sets a bad precedent for future maps. If bhvr continues to go on the trend of introducing small killer sided maps with not enough pallets it will become a problem. That’s why current haddonfield and forgotten ruins are one of the most hated maps on the survivor side right now because they’re extreamly small and barely have enough pallets.

Survivors hate Forgotten Ruins? I'm unaware, because I absolutely despise that map as killer, and I rarely ever get to play it as survivor.

There's speculation that they're planning on doing this to more realms too, on Toba Landing and Dead Dawg. Those two maps do not need shack-only variants.

I honestly think a Shack-Only variant in order to nerf a realm is the most boring way possible to go about it. At least add some sort of notable landmark like pre-rework Shelter Woods had. Throw in like a big old pyre covered in skulls or something.

I do agree with this. A map with nothing on it except the usual tiles and shack is really dull. Even if it's just a small thing, every map should have one unique structure on it. A Toba Landing map with alien ruins, or a livestock corral in Glenvale, anything to distinguish them as unique. I hate Rotten Fields because it's just boring to play on for both sides, in my experience.

  • Those other characters may have fit the maliciousness of a Killer better, but none of them are as marketable as the main character.

  • I will believe it is fixed when it is actually fixed.

  • Considering BHVR said they added this map as a "nerf" to the map offering, it being killer-sided seems intentional as a counterbalance to the survivor-sided Forsaken Boneyard.

  • They're the most "human" killers so they're easy to work with.

  • I just don't like Taurie enough to buy her to unlock her perk.

  • Playing Legion in 2v8 is difficult for me because the massive swathes of pallets everywhere can make hitting survivors difficult because you're constantly playing the "will I get hit out of my power or not" game.

  • You can't get mori'd if you win.

  • These changes could range anywhere from "barely effects anything" to "punishes most killers in the game just for playing it". If it swings towards the latter side, it could be the beginning of DbD finally dying if they manage to push away the killer playerbase.

  • How many charms are in the game? 100? 200?

    Good luck with that.

  • They said it was fixed, but it wasn't.

  • Even with the bots, I've been escaping more often than I've been dying.

  • They could do cosmetics but I think Danganronpa characters are too stylized, even by anime standards, to fit into DbD.

  • Last time I could wait anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes, now my wait times are roughly 10 to 15 minutes.

  • I think they look goofy hanging off of survivors so no, I don't bother with them. They're mostly just a collectable to me.

  • Yeah it's the main reason I'm not going to wear any of these. The clothes were okay but then the face wrecks it.

  • He's not bloated because survivors only need to do two things to counterplay him:

    1. Don't get hit by the speedy megalomaniac.
    2. If you do get hit, use the spray, and try not to get hit again.

That's it. There's a lot of little details concerning Wesker's power but they don't matter to survivors most of the time, they're just fluff and fringe cases. As far as survivors are concerned, just dodge the smug jerk who wears sunglasses at night, and you'll be fine.

Just let them get the setting right. Even I want the mori to look good when I get killed by it.

If I've lost the game and am I gonna die, at least give me the decency of a camera angle instead of putting my character's animation inside of a wall or rock.

  • The crows literally travel across the whole map.

They have always worked like that. The range has never been changed.

    Pinhead chains are way longer.

No they are not. The range has never been changed.

The gunslinger now shoots his gun across about a quarter of the map.

No he does not. The range has never been changed.

You are making things up to complain about them.

The last level of the track has not been out long enough for anyone to remotely get close enough to finish it. Yet some people have the skin (p2wd the entire thing)

P2w being used here, for purposes of fastforwarding the track rather than naturally progressing it.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. You get the entire Jane skin just by buying the Rift Pass, the whole outfit is the first reward on the Premium Track.

  • I noticed an issue with Eruption where a kicked generator that is then completed before Eruption procs remains yellow forever so it looks like an unfinished generator. Very annoying.

    I'm split on this rift.

The only cosmetics I like belong to killers, but whenever you play killer, you can barely see your cosmetic in-game so I don't care. As for the survivors, I think most of the rift cosmetics range from mid to downright ugly. The only redeeming part to me is Renato's torso and legs, but I still hate the head. And don't get me started on the travesty that is David's skinny ponytail… Not to downplay all the work that went into designing and modelling it all—I know it took a lot of time and effort. They're just not for me.

I'll still unlock the premium track—I play enough to always reach the end of each rift and you get the cells back—but I won't use any of the cosmetics we got this time around. My desire for simpler, more everyday clothes increases with each collection…

I'm with you. I hate all the avant garde fashion they keep adding for survivors. Feels so out of place and ridiculous.

  • Matchmaking is a mess. I'm getting put in matches with entire groups on the other side of the planet from me. No one has a decent connection.

Killer player is using a VPN. For example a killer queueing from China getting matched with North American players.

I think something broke with matchmaking because I am not using a VPN yet I am consistently being thrown into matches where every other player is in an Asian country. I'm getting matched with Chinese and Korean players, I think I even went up against someone from Thailand. This shouldn't be happening with a random American guy like me. And even when I match up with other Americans, everyone's connections are bad. The new update feels like it's messed everything up.

  • @BlackRose89 said:

Wish I could say the same but I honestly just dont like any of the skins in this rift. Might be because they are mostly for characters I don't own or care to play. If ppl enjoy it Im happy for them but this one is a skip for me.

The only outfits in the Tome I sorta like are the recolors, but there's nothing in it that makes me say "I want that", even for the characters I do play as.

  • @Yggleif said:

Probably because outside of the Huntress skin which is great this rift is kinda mid.

Can we stop with the neon already?

Yeah there's barely anything good in this one. Everything is so tacky.

Also i bring you this as to why slugging is happening more:

Ironic that he made this video, then yesterday uploaded a video about why asymm PvP games are dying.

I've encountered super-slugging Singularity players too, it's far from an isolated incident like you're implying.

To OP, as a first step to addressing this, they should tweak Singu to remove Slipstream on downs. It remaining on downed survivors is a key feature of the problem. Then focus on unhealthy perks like Knock Out.

I feel like it must be said that most of these characters got their tomes before the Deep Rift was a thing.

So, like, had it been a thing from the start, I’m sure they would’ve gotten something.

Jeff hasn't gotten a Tome or a Deep Rift.

  • The only complaint about Pyramid Head is the ones who cage survivors and hover near the cage to proxy-camp it so they can immediately down the survivor due to the lack of basekit endurance. Bypassing hook perks is fine, it's an interesting part of the killer's design, but the lack of 10sec endurance off cage is very annoying when PH players take advantage of it.

There's so many posts on these forums that just come off as whining and the killer is just denying everyone fun. WHY DO YOU HATE FUN YOU VILE KILLER!!! -grabs pitchfork- When discussing why people felt the need to kill themselves against SM, I'd get ppl saying I shouldn't have picked a killer that ppl hate, but... People hate EVERY SINGLE KILLER it seems... I saw a complaint against Bubba for daring to try to down ppl with his saw rather than M1ing. What's the fun way I can try to win that's gonna result in ppl dying and saying "That was EXACTLY the kind of match I come here for. I had so much fun."

What's the fun way I can try to win that's gonna result in ppl dying and saying "That was EXACTLY the kind of match I come here for. I had so much fun."

There is no answer, because most people hate losing, no matter how fair the loss is. That's just being a sore loser.

And you can believe me, because I'm a sore loser, so I know what the mindset is like. There's no pleasing people who aren't pleased with anything less than victory.

  • Anime-inspired cosmetics are fine but putting straight-up anime characters in DbD usually isn't going to look good because of the art style clash.

  • I wish I could enjoy Xenomorph and Deathslinger more, but I play on console. I still try Deathslinger once in a while and I can do some decent shots sometimes but it is a struggle against any survivor who can juke.

  • My best match today was against a super-slugging Singularity. He had Sloppy Butcher, Knockout, and Infectious Fright. Kept trying to slug and camp the slugs so he could snowball the team and bleed everyone out. It was a terribly tedious and unenjoyable experience, but he messed up and we all managed to avoid the snowball and fix all the generators.

The only time he hooked was after we opened the exit gates, where he got his one and only single hook. Then that survivor got the 4% to jump off the hook and ran right out the exit gates. Most deserved teabagging at the gate I've ever seen.

Knockout could use a rework. Either put a timer on the aura-hiding, decrease the range it's hidden, or just remove it entirely and tweak the perk to focus on its other function, slowing down a slugged survivor's recovery or temporarily immobilize them so they can't crawl to pallets.

So we just shouldn't allow the game to ever be a 3v1? The killer shouldn't get rewarded for anything?

We should always the punish that side that is winning.

Unless I'm winning, then it's unfair.

This is unironically some people's mentalities.

  • Say 1 person would be getting chased for the 40 seconds

Since this perk only activates after hooking a survivor and walking a few meters away, it would be a really stupid move for their teammate to immediately take chase as soon as it procs, and they WOULD know the killer has it at that point because it would have activated 3 prior times already, so this is a bad hypothetical that only applies to severely boneheaded survivors.

  • People always complain when you take their crutch mechanics away from them. There are people who still complain about the Dead Hard and Made For This nerfs, and the Eruption and Pain Res nerfs, no matter how deserved they were. So people will still complain about the Distortion nerf o matter how deserved it was. Just another entry on the list of things entitled players will hold a grudge over for the next several years.

  • The Infection was reset to 1% on hook. It takes over 2 minutes for a survivor to go from 1% to 100% infected. The Hindered was reduced to -4%. If you remove his infection on hook then it ceases to exist as a passive slowdown.

  • The rare but treasured reasonable balance change.

  • I'd love to see a frosty speargun for Deathslinger next year. Actually I'd love a whole Bone Chill outfit for Deathslinger.

  • Having less slowdown when cancelling a dog command is a small thing that feels like a big improvement. Can't comment on whether the dog feels better or not since it's still very difficult to grab survivors with him but at least they increased the hitbox to about Wesker size, I think.

The dog still has some pretty bad pathing during Search though, and locking onto Search targets is still very finicky and painful. That locking onto targets is necessary to give the dog any decent range on his Search makes it all the more annoying.

  • I just want less map offerings so I can see the new Ormond map.

  • @ThatRyanB said:

Hopping in to provide a little context on this, the team has been closely monitoring The Houndmaster's performance and determined that Knotted Rope posed a potential balancing risk when paired with certain perks and addons. They're currently re-evaluating this addon and plan to revisit it in 2025, but ultimately wanted to ensure that heading into the holidays, the risk of an over-tuned combo was minimized.

We know larger balancing changes like this can be frustrating, but we appreciate your patience as at the end of the day, we want to ensure there's a solid balance between having fun as the Killer and playing against the Killer.

So you nerfed it into the most worthless add-on to ever exist. And you aren't going to fix it until "2025" which by BHVR standards means this add-on could be left like this until next Christmas for all we know.

  • Salty survivors (and lets be honest, killers too) who want to downplay their loss will make up a bunch of arbitrary standards of "skill" so they can accuse you of not adhering to these false standards and therefore prove you are "bad at the game" even though you just beat them.

Other games have a word for this kind of player: "scrub".

  • Can't have swearing in the M-rated game about murder.

    Meanwhile, Chucky.

  • What's a completely random choice that makes little to no sense and isn't necessary whatsoever…

    Legion. Legion is next.

  • They give him a very tiny worthless buff to Wolf then nerf another ability that didn't need any changes at all.

  • It's not just you, it also feels really difficult now, and it was already finicky before. I have to stand there for 5 seconds nudging my camera around just to get the dog to lock onto the magic pixel.
