I did start over last month moving from console to PC. It wasn't that bad and I have all the teachables for the killers i have unlocked so it's going well so far. I just miss being able to do whatever builds I want and my prestige cosmetics but oh well.
-
I really just think the early game needs to change. If you don't get a down within 40 seconds of the game you lose and I'm not even being dramatic.
-
YOU JUST GOT GHOSTED!!!
-
This is some good bait.
-
Devotion will never do anything because BHVR needs to have cosmetics impossible to unlock so you give them money.

Demos shred attack is crap compared to Pyramid Head's attack. Shred is way more of the definition of a tool you only use when guarenteed a hit. I almost never have an issue dodging it as a survivor (from range). It is only really reliable from close, but even then you could still miss if the survivor tricks you to use it at the wrong time. Pyramid Head's on the other hand is still dodgeable, but less risky especially if you can hold a survivor at the same loop. It literally goes through collision, so that in itself is a bigger benefit & poses a potential mindgame at tall walls. You need to understand a survivor's movements to land hits with it. You need to make them make mistakes by running into it. Now it won't always work, but I can guarentee you it will be way better than landing a shred attack. And yes Demo has mobility unlike Pyramid Head (though it is the weakest mobility-based power in the game), but Pyramid Head has anti-hook abilities. His trenches also act as a means of tracking with killer instinct. His kit is easily more reliable than Demos in my opinion. And no he isn't being carried by the Silent Hill name. His character in itself is super recognizable by many, & he invokes true horror that this game actually needs.
That is just not true. Demo's shred is probably the most versatile tool in the game. You can do a short one to get hits outside of lunge range and survivors have little time to react during loops, so you either get rid of a pallet or get a hit. Pyramid head slows down, stands still and then does a long wind up while also waiting for travel time with a giant red box showing you where he's aiming. In a realistic scenario the survivor will usually just run away since you can only shoot 8 meters with it. With Demo's shred you hold it with unrestricted turning so you can make adjustments if someone tries to fake a vault. With Pyramid Head your turning is like ADS with Deathslinger. You can only use Pyramid Heads attack during a vault animation to really get a guaranteed hit, but there's also an animation to you slamming your sword. If you charge it before they vault then they'll just not vault because they know its a free hit for you. If you charge it too late you can't get the hit anymore unless they run to the side or something. Also your attack is slow and restricted and if you cancel it there's a little cool-down where you cant hit for about 2 secs I think. This is why I say it's nothing more than a glorified zoning tool. Not even close to Demo's shred in the slightest. Even if you don't hit the shred you can at least make distance and maybe cut off a pallet or vault, but with Pyramid Head? You lose all your distance AND go into a fatigue. Going through walls means nothing since most maps are open and unless you have I'm All Ears you're probably going to miss that wall hit. (Also for anybody about to say anything about I'm All Ears making him good, killers shouldn't need specific perks to use their power anyways.) Especially since there's a sound que for when he slams the sword. So he can't use it reliably in chase, he can't mind game with it and he loses distance which effectively means he's lost more time while having no map pressure. In the current state of DBD, where killers never have enough time, he's going to be eaten alive. While torment can track it's not a reliable tracking tool since survivors have to stand on it for it to work which they'll probably avoid doing. And the cages aren't good at all since you cant defend them like a hook because they go to the other side of the map. That also means you can't use hook perks which are a pretty big part of the perk pool. I could be wrong on that part though, don't quote me on it. Many people say "but it avoids ds" but that shouldn't be its only good quality. If Freddy's only good trait is that he can avoid BT then he would not be at the level he is. There's just nothing redeeming about the killer or any of the perks. The only one that will be used is the gen block one and mostly for trolling if anything. That's why this I believe this chapter is a waste of time and money. BHVR can do much better than this.

I've just been annoyed by it recently. Idk if the map generation is just terrible for me but it seems like I'm in a losing situation way more often. Today I played on Blood Lodge as Ghostface, so already with how open Blood Lodge is its hard to effectively use my power, then there were 3 pallets and a jungle gym surrounding the god bus, and this was the normal set ups for most of my matches today and yesterday. It's either that or somebody DC's because I have a good start. I don't mind the toxic players but it just seems like I'm genuinely unable to do much in my matches. I hope it improves soon as I've had this happen before but it really makes me feel like I'm just wasting my time trying to play rn.

I like the bloody cosmetics as they are. Something new would be cool but I think the blood is great.

Pyramid Head has a massive skill requirement, and it's obvious you haven't figured out how to play him.
Not being mean, just a fact.
But that's the biggest problem, there is no skill. You are severely limitied in what you can do with it because it's locked in one spot with a giant red box AND your red stain points where you're aiming. I wouldn't make this post if I didn't play him because I'd still believe he was good. His power is limited by the fact that it doesn't matter what kind of skill you have, you're still going to get the same results.
-
Cell prices are far too much for how much dlc is in the game tbh. I get that they need money but a game thats about $200 just to get all the dlc and buy the game is just really greedy.

Then why don't I see him more often compared to Billy?
What I am saying is, a Killer can be fun to play and people will buy it because Pyramid Head is fun.
Don't ######### on the parade of people who are happy for this.
I'm not trying to ruin anybody's party. I just really don't feel like it's a worthwhile product. But when the fun goes away people are gonna just not touch him and then we have another killer that nobody touches. Wraith is fun every once in a while but that doesn't mean people are going to play him solely for that fact. What I want is a product that is usable on a regular basis, not relying on whenever the other side plays badly or not. Buy it if you want but this post is more of a warning to the community that if these things aren't fixed you're wasting your money and time on a short term investment. You might as well buy some cheap booze if you really want to have something fun for a little bit.
-
Honestly a great idea. That and a cool-down reduction and he's probably one of the more threatening killers in the game. Although realistically this would probably be slapped into an add-on.

Not every killer has to be viable to be fun to play, I like playing as Demogorgon in high ranks, is he viable? Hell no.
Demogorgon is completely viable. I play him all the time at rank 1 and have really good success.

Then the DLC isn't for you.
Don't discourage the other players from buying it because you don't feel it's legitimate.
Your Pyramid Head perk concerns though ARE valid, they'll be Dead on Arrival if they don't fix them.
He is fun to play as, and fun to play against.
It's not that the DLC isn't for me, it's just a genuinely bad product. The only reason people will buy it is because it's new and has a big name to it but then a little bit after release everyone will realize how bad it is. In paying for it you're getting nothing but disadvantages, a mediocre at best killer and a few meme perks. Why would anyone want this? I really do want this chapter to be great but it's just not. Separating the "OMG ITS SILENT HILL" from the genuine benefits of purchasing the chapter puts into perspective how little it has to offer. Sure Pyramid Head is cool and exciting, but when that wears off he's just another low tier killer that nobody is going to want to play.

Well for starters, the map isn't purchase required so I don't get how that is a factor in the purchase. The factors should be strictly the survivor, the killer, & how much of a dedicated fan you are towards the license.
When observing the survivor, you get 2 good perks & 1 situational perk. She also comes with the very first legendary skin, something completely new to the game. Her character is also very well-liked in the Silent Hill community. Overall, she is worth it for most ppl.
Pyramid Head is probably one of the biggest video game horror icons that DBD could obtain. Fans beyond just the die hard Silent Hill fans know who he is & can understand why he would be awesome to play. His power is actually quite good when you learn how to use it. You do not have map pressure with him, but you do have a means of saving time & bypassing some of the strongest survivor perks. But, you also don't want to overuse his cages. You have to know when is the right time to use any of his abilities. Overusing his ranged attack can be your downfall. You want to play him like Demogorgon or close range Huntress, & only cage survivors when necessary. As for his perks, 2 are underwhelming & the 1 is pretty good. He is about on par with Demogorgon with what perks he brings to the table. Overall, I would say he sits somewhere in the A/B tier & is worth it as well.
But that's what my complaint is. The only thing carrying this is the Silent Hill name. If this were an original chapter it'd get blown out the water. And Pyramid head is no where near the level that Demogorgon is. A zoning tool is only so useful, but if you still have to play the loop with really nothing to help you other than mind games then. Demogorgon can apply map pressure with his portals by going to points of interest and using shred around most loops. Pyramid head has none of this. All he has is a gimmick that relies on the survivor being inattentive. There is no "learn how to use his power" because his power is terrible. You practically have to wait for the survivor to run into it if you really want to use it for its intended purpose. At best it's useful when you're guaranteed a hit, but that doesn't make the power inherently good, it's like a bubba chainsaw. It's a reactive power so you get no control in a chase with it and without that control you're at the mercy of survivors. He has almost no redeeming qualities to his kit and the singular one he does have requires a tedious process.
-
It will probably be next week tbh. I have no clue the actual release date though.
-
Huntress, Nurse and Billy easily. I can tear survivors to shreds with Deathslinger but if I play Huntress it's practically set in stone. Billy's flick is also extremely tough to master but also an amazing ability. And Nurse practically goes against the fundamentals of DBD so she's on her own level.
-
In general I think we need more body horror in the game. Seeing a twisted figure barge at you is much more terrifying that "spooky man with mask noooo".
-
It's 4 seconds so that if you stun a killer they have time to react. Honestly I don't care much about the perk and mostly use it in meme builds.
-
This is entitled talk though. You believe that a group of people should be penalized soley because of using a feature in the game. Not everyone you go against is a sweaty swf. Many swf are just friends playing together and the ones who do sweat like that will end the game in 4 minutes regardlessly. Balancing around swf is not going to fix anything and just make the game tougher on solo que survivors which is already pretty tough because of the lack of communication. It's not impossible to win against them as pressure is still applicable, just a little tougher. The idea of every swf being a death squad is ridiculous and balancing towards that just breaks the game more. Killers will be almost uncounterable in the scenario of solo que when theyre designed to 1v4 constantly. In the 2 1/2 years ive played this game I think I've only run into about 4 of these groups before, so unless if I somehow don't main killer enough I don't see how any of this could be good. I think a good change would be if you could see how many people are in a group so you could prepare for it. I think this would also kill a large part of toxicity in the game because many 4-man booli squads would have less advantage and rank 12 killers would stop crying.

Wheres The skill in ds bt adrenaline unbreakable etc.
None. But it's irrelevant to the problem of Freddy. Screaming "muh survivor meta" isn't a cop out to a different design issue.
-
based
-
It's all about practice and strategy. If you think something can work then keep trying until you decide it doesn't. When I was practicing Demogorgon I threw a few games just to learn the best way to combat certain loops with them and now I'm unstoppable. Don't take the game so seriously and the bullying become a lot less pf a problem.
-
Yes but the game would get banned in many countries. Plus at this point I don't know if its even possible to make all the moris graphic.
-
Nothing. Ignoring is not only better but I also don't have to waste my time!
-
The difference is in travel time and use. Pyramid head cannot shoot you and make distance on you like Deathslinger. He can only damage after a long wind up.
-
What needs to change is the perk meta. But everytime a new genuinely strong or unique perk comes out that may shake the meta it instantly gets nerfed.
-
I assume it's something to do with the models and camera. While I agree it would be cooler the cinematic camera is probably better in the long run.

Ghostfaces reveal mechanic is horrible, you can be looking directly at him and nothing happens or you could reveal him when hes already behind walls
Also after a certain point it just takes you out anyways because of screen delay or something like that.
-
I honestly think he's one of the cheapest strong killers to play. Very little skill required and consistently good results. At the very least spirit requires you to actually put more effort in than "haha you have to drop the pallet now :)". I find him very tedious to play against and just generally unengaging.
-
DS is annoying but I think most people blow it out of the water. Usually slugging is still good pressure anyways and if they have unbreakable they can't use it later. Obviously it's a problem when you're losing but still more often than not its managable.
-
Honestly it seems like it already punishes the player. Everyone else too, though. Nobody gets as many points.
-
I'm 50/50 on NOED. Yes, it does reward bad killers for almost losing, but also it creates fear and tension during the end-game. You don't know whether they have it or not. Removing it would make the end-game as a whole weaker; which is already a bad spot to be in. Some maps like Lery's or Hawkins also make it tough to find certain totems. Which is a good thing for other hex perks but for something like NOED its a little too much. Without the speed bonus I'd be fine with it because then you can actually play around it instead of being dead no matter what. Training wheels aren't bad. Many killers who use it are usually rank 20 or so, but when you never grow out of your training wheels then it stops being cute and just annoying. Most good killers don't use NOED unless they don't have any better perks on the killer or if they're using a specific build. The perk does also make it harder to pressure during the match as well because you pretty much don't have a perk until the end-game. If the speed bonus was gone I would say that its balanced. But until then we just have to deal with it. Plus there might be some backlash if it does get nerfed too hard. Not that it will really be missed...

Listening for his breathing can give you a small headstart. It also works against deathslinger and wraith.
-
The Chode Load
-
I think its more of something with the animation that makes it look that way. It's the standard lunge but the way it looks from surv pov is really derpy.
-
Probably enduring reducing all stuns. It was really nice to have.

BUBBA MOMENT

"just dont get tunneled lmao"
Usually you don't have time to get to another loop after getting unhooked. That's kinda the whole reason tunneling is so strong and hated. It's a scummy and easy way to get somebody out of the game because they're defenceless. Although I'm sure many rank 12 killer mains will justify it for that exact reason saying "Why would I not give myself a clear advantage?". It really comes down to the player and how considerate they are.
-
It's not really bias but more of oversight and ignorance. A good example was how the ruin nerf was a nerf for all the weaker killers in the game because they can't apply pressure as well as others. So it was mostly done to make survivor more enjoyable without the annoyance of ruin, but consequently made all the bad killers sink lower into the ground. Ironically this made the game less enjoyable for both sides because killers feel like they have less time to actually play the game and survivors are getting slugged way more often. It's not enough to just hook survivors now and killers will resort to scummier tactics. No, it isn't fun being hooked in the middle of a gen lock down or spending half the match on the floor, but on the other hand the killer doesn't want a 6 min game. It's also made the killer diversity plummet harder than it already was. Playing trapper is basically impossible unless you like fighting for 1 gen. It goes as well for other killers too, because their powers are either too underwhelming or too slow. The fast pace direction that dbd is heading for cannot match its killers. None of this was considered so by trying to be nice they burned themselves in the process. I love the game and will probably stick with it for a long time but breakable walls and other gimmicks will not help.
-
There really aren't but that's mostly because of how different survivor and killer play. Moris could be considered a second chance item for killers but most killer perks suck anyways.
-
@Fibijean said:
As someone who has been part of a SWF in this situation (though I wasn't the one who told the lie), I don't think it has much to do with wanting to be perceived as particularly skillful. More often, it's because if a killer is asking a question like that, they're either genuinely curious for self-reflective purposes, or else (more likely, in my experience) they think SWF players are trash and should be removed from the game. People are reluctant to reveal that they are SWF for fear of the latter, because no one wants to sign up to be insulted and abused.
This. While the game can be hard on killers many of them are just as bad or worse than the "toxic survivor mains" they complain about.
-
It sucks, but it doesn't really matter considering ranking is just a meme currently.
-
Just ignore it. You'll never survive DBD if you let this stuff bother you so much.
-
What would his power be though?
-
My least favorite would be spirit, boring to play as and against. She's basically simon says and a free win for any killer who knows what they're doing.
My top favorites would be Demogorgon/Oni. They have a high skill-cap which makes them rewarding to play and are fun to play against.
-
Changing moris is much simpler and much more effective. After 3 hooks you can mori. This prevents tunneling and ensures surivors have a chance, without being too harsh towards the offering. It's not as strong bu still strong non the less.
-
Meta means that it's the best in the game and everyone uses it. It wouldn't be otherwise. I do agree though, but currently there is no incentive to use other perks or theyre just garbage and useless. It's the reason killers run BBQ over Monsterous Shrine and why Survivors use DS over Deja Vu.
-
I would make it work like BT, Where it only activates in terror radius, disables on grabs (to stop the locker camping) and last for 40 seconds. I feel 40 seconds would be not too little but also not too long, so when you do legitimately get tunneled you can still use it without it running out but also not stun a killer who hasn't touched you in forever. The idea of the perk is great but it's current state is far too abusable to sustain.
