In the 9.6.0 patch notes it says:
Breaking a Downed Pallet now reduces Rush tokens down to 2 below maximum and resets current Rush token recharge to 0%.
Now in 9.6.2 it says:
Fixed an issue where The Blight did not lose Tokens when breaking a pallet with 3 or less Tokens.
Which to me implies that if blight has 2 Rush tokens remaining and breaks a pallet he would have 0 Tokens at 0%.
Which kinda contradicts the intended change made in 9.6.0.Maybe this was just a specific bug for Blight's using iri tag, since that addon caps him at 3.
It's possible if Blight broke a pallet with iri tag he didn't lose any tokens, hence the bug.
That's just a guess from me.

Shambler is iconic, my only regret is that we didn't get a shambler dredge skin. (Or Reynauld, or The Fanatic also would be good easy skin choices.
I'm convinced they didn't give us some of the other iconic DD stuff because it's being saved for a potential chapter/future content
I've always wanted to see 'The Ancestor' as a Killer with part of his power being a stress mechanic for the survivors. That'd be awesome. Only downside is, they'd have to do without Wayne June but I'm sure BHVR or even Red Hook could find someone to do a good impression.
-
It actually wouldn't surprise me at all if that's where the idea came from, Red Hook (Darkest Dungeon creator) is very aware of their modding community and frequently does community mod spotlights!
Also, the other deep rift recolours for the heroes are all taken from the game, I believe darkest dungeon 1 mainly?
Love that we got a shambler portrait, easily the most terrifying random encounter in the game if you play torchless.
-
This perk design just screams "We want to have our cake and eat it too" as in, we want a perk that "buffs" survivor's ability to repair generators but we don't want to upset Killer Players who (Rightly so) think generators already go too fast.
So they design a wishy-washy perk that HAS to have a big downside to it, forever relegating it to the dustbin of perk hell with the likes of Scavenger, Calm Spirit and other survivor perks that have built in downsides
It needs work, a lot of work to be even close to decent.
I think BHVR need to scrap this focus on "permanent" gen progress. It is a failed concept that Killer players hate and Survivor players either ignore or go all in on to the point of breaking the game because it's only worth doing it if you go all in. There is no happy medium.
-
Something about this seems fishy to me. BHVR's experiments with their DLC sale stuff has always been kind of sketchy imo.
Like forcefully bundling cosmetics in to jack up the prices (Nic cage + Alien chapter for example) in order to force people to buy auric cells for the cheaper price. Not having it on the store at all when literally every other chapter, even solo survivors with no maps are/were there.
Call it a hunch, but something tells me the underlying reason for this is going to be something to do with increasing the DLC prices on steam or something to do with pricing in general; they've already tweaked it as of Feb this year.
Maybe I'm just being pessimistic but when a change is not clearly communicated, there's usually a bad reason for it. If it were the case that because Trickster is in a bundle, they didn't want this chapter to be standalone (Despite it being treated as a standalone chapter) then why not just say that?

Yeah this
Please let us change it for Surv/Killer seperately that would be much appreciated.

As much as I'd love for Grace to join DBD, I gotta go with DR
Frank, Chuck and Nick are all amazing contenders for the survivor role, with plenty of other supporting characters in the games as contenders for legendaries too.
I can't really see any of the Dead Rising psychopaths as Killers though, don't get me wrong there are some really good designs and characters here but they are pretty one-note in terms of power potential.
Though I will say a funny idea that came to me was Kent from DR1 with a photography based power, something about that sounds funny. His killer name being 'The Photographer' would be neat too.

If you care that much about Killer accessibility, go make your own thread with suggestions for it? You don't go into a Killer suggestion thread asking for survivor things, do you?

They could make the abandon feature only activate after several seconds of lying on the ground, so that they couldn't cheese their way out of the mori. But the devs intentionally made it activate instantly, so that the survivor's ego would not be shattered. So no, it's not because of the bleedout, not even close.
It is factually because of bleedout though. It's not the ONLY reason, of course but why do you think the main activation condition is all 4 survivors being in the dying state or hooked?
Or the last survivor being allowed to abandon as soon as the 2nd to last surv is dead.
Also 90% of ppl do not care about being mori'd, it's an animation in a game. It does nothing to 'ego'. Most players with a lot of hours have seen every mori dozens of times and would rather skip it because it's boring.

"Forced to sit there" for a few seconds - gets to abandon.
Forced to wait for 2 minutes - no abandon option.
Yup, no issue here, absolutely fair and no entitlement of one side over the other, sure.
You're only forced to wait 2 minutes if you're not willing to go hit them out.
I get it, nobody likes being bmed but if you think you're being bmed regardless why wait 2 minutes instead of just getting it over as fast as possible.
Also you completely missed my point, IF abandon on survivor was not a thing then they WOULD be forced to wait out their bleedout timer if the Killer decided so, that is 100% the main reason why abandon was even added.
-
@Junylar said:
It's funny how the same survivors who say killers don't need the abandon feature to avoid teabagging now justify the same thing on survivors in this thread. You can't get more one-sided and hypocrite than that.
Again, the rebuttal to that is one side has something they can do about it whereas the other side would be forced to sit there and take it or get a DC penalty.
Just because they are both forms of annoying BM doesn't make them 100% the same in practice. If this was old DBD where there was no endgame collapse OR Survivors were 100% invincible in the exit gate area then yes, you would be completely correct in your point.
-
idk, current system works fine imo.
Abandon needs work on the Killer end, but it's good for quickly bringing a clearly obvious lost game to a close
-
Please don't remove them.
They add a little bit of character to each perk.

Didnt they technically say not a bug though? The addon is working as designed.
Yeah Mandy's wording is basically
"It's not a bug but we're not sure if the designers intend for it to work this way.". Similar wording to the whole 'kidnap tech' issue.
Same thing here seems like. It makes sense, I bet 90% of people even forgot this addon was a thing before Turn Back The Clock came into the game.
-
You remember how nobody played Gabriel Soma basically ever, until they gave him some decent cosmetics and then people actually started playing him?
That's why.
-
Nemesis' stomping when combined with his chase theme
Springtrap's laughter is also a personal favourite of mine.
-
It feels odd for me to be excited for Trickster related content as back in the day I hated his inclusion in the game (keep in mind back then DBD still had a lot more 'horror' to it).
But over time I grew to appreciate him more and more, especially with how well written Yun-Jins and his stories are when taken as a complete picture rather than seperately. I also like his gameplay not for its strength but the satisfaction factor of landing knife after knife.
I'm glad older Killers are finally getting new maps though, we really missed out on Trickster, Blight, Twins having cool unique maps to go with them.
I hope this goes well!
-
The hint we got was 'STYLE'
My theory is they are going to implement a Devil May Cry-esque combo style meter to his new iteration. The combo system is already a thing with current Trickster but it doesn't really serve a purpose other than rewarding more BP for the highest consecutive hits in a row.

Are you 100% sure this is something you really want to toss in here? Survivors get skill checks so… what are you proposing? Lose the skill checks? I wouldn't be opposed I guess. But what then? Gens are the most boring part of the game other than being slugged. If this were to make gens more interesting, we might have something lol.
If that's what you got from my post then you missed my actual point
The point is that even at a base level without perks, gen speeds aren't a flat consistent thing and much like map generation it's pure RNG which contributes the reason why some matches feel like they go by quickly and some feel like they drag on.
-
Here's something not a lot of people really talk about - Generators do NOT actually take 90s. They only take 90s if the survivor either gets no skillchecks or they hit only 'good' ones.
For every great skillcheck, that's 1s shaved off the generator's total time. So let's say I'm working a generator solo and I get 6 great skillchecks before I'm finished - that generator only really took 84 seconds.
Now this is completely RNG at a base level. Sometimes you get 2-3 skillchecks. Sometimes you get none. There's also perks that impact this to consider.
Let's consider a common perk - Deja vu which gives a permanent 6% boost on the 3 highlighted gens. Meaning a gen gets done in about 85 seconds. Now subtract the hypothetical 6 great skillchecks and you get a gen done in roughly 79 seconds.
Again, this is another thing where RNG plays a big role in matches; matches where survivors get less skillchecks go on longer than those where survivors are getting and hitting greats consistently.

if the dbd content creator is making money why not have a main and a smurf or multiple since your making money off of it
Their smurf will hit the soft cap quickly though if they are winning a lot for the sake of content
It's also been proven outside of the soft cap if you win a lot, your MMR gets raised quicker to combat smurfing.
-
I'm kind of confused what your point is because you don't explain what YOU go against in comparison.
Because if you claim you go against survivors who never do any of the things you mentioned then I don't know what to say.
I'm not saying your experiences are invalid but all of what you listed is common behaviour in average solo q games. I've seen it and I'm not ashamed to admit it I've done it too when I'm not playing my best.
@terumisan said:
streamers are probably smurfing but if you watch tru3 you'll learn some things
Without constant new accounts it's not really possible to smurf because your MMR cannot go below the soft cap once you reach it. The soft cap is where the majority of people are iirc.
-
Apparently Alan Wake being in DBD is 'canon' to his actual games and supposedly he's written himself into DBD before the events of AW2
So basically, that means at some point Alan will write his way out of DBD which means he beats the entity at its own game
You can't get much stronger than that
-
Rick's hook screams are really really bad. His grunts of pain aren't too bad though
Daryl's are horrible in both departments, so much so it put me off buying the skin.
-
I forgive you.
-
I believe it's considered a bug because gens that are blocked stop regressing until they are unblocked and Trail of Torment is supposed to stop when the target gen stops regressing

Very few Killers run Blood Warden, so the threat of fully opening gates is dying to EGC… except if someone is down or hooked then it’s not really a threat because it progresses at half speed. In the year of our lord 2026 with Plot Twist, Hope, Adrenaline, Blood Rush, WGLF, 15 seconds of Endurance and Haste off hook, no hook grabs, the option to try and Kobe when 2 Survivors are left in the Trial, and most Killers just using slowdowns that become useless in endgame, I really don’t see the reason to 99 in almost any case.
Blood Rush doesn't work in endgame.

The only addon I feel is overtuned is the one that shows survivors more than 26m away for 6 seconds when worldbreaker reaches the vine part

No because Huntress Hatchets, even with their sizeable hitbox - still have to actually be wound up, aimed and can be dodged
Ghoul has a 'hitscan' attack. In case you don't know what hitscan means, as long as the ghoul presses m1 when the 'teeth' icon is on a survivor its a guaranteed hit with no dodging possible.

Also, if they are linked to our accounts, why is the survey inaccessible on the DBD website? Just put the survey there for the people who linked their accounts instead of trying to make them do it with a controller.
It said on the survey message that it's to see our in game purchase history or content we own. Something like that
My guess is, it's to make sure that people who say they play X killer and think they are broken/OP and so on actually own that character.

So just because Kaneki downs you with an m1 attack, that means he is an m1 killer?

Edit: rephrase that. Can it be accessed outside of console?
I don't know if this answers your question but when you open the survey on PC it opens via the steam overlay web browser so theoretically you can take the link it gives you and paste it in another browser (i.e Chrome, Firefox and so on) and that should work.
But like Mandy said, don't give the link to others since it contains your game ID

He's like Legion, you're guaranteed to get first hit, but then you're playing against an M1 killer
Calling Ghoul an M1 killer is laughable when they can catapult themselves around survivors to bodyblock windows/pallets, can hook a survivor then be on the other side of the map injuring someone else within seconds. Ghoul's power vault also let's them immediately M1 afterward, Legion has to go through fatigue first.
The best legion can do is sometimes bodyblock using frenzy and even then you have to already be close to them to do that.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4050299#Comment_4050299
UPDATE 2
So. I'm here again with another update for Henry/Vecna after a bit more information gathering and playing against him. Im sure by now, everyone has probably got a good grasp on how to deal with him or not. It's roughly been about a week since his release, so I'll go over what I've confirmed and what still needs more data.
1. @Brokenbones was correct. His Upside Down Strike Does come out faster when Worldbreaker is active. I had been specifically making sure to pay attention to when it's active and when it's not and it is Significantly easier to evade his attack when Worldbreaker isn't active then when it is.
Though, it's not impossible to get out of the range when WorldBreaker is active, it's much, much more difficult. I've also noticed the ring appears to be somewhat larger when Worldbreaker is active.
2. I've already confirmed this previously, but I'll reiterate for brevity sake. The clock does not move faster when multiple people are on. I wanted to reconfirm this fact to assure that I wasn't just throwing something out there without any factual evidence, and trust me; I've done it multiple times. It does not move any faster. So, just to reconfirm, do not have multiple people on the clock.
3. I've also confirmed that for Henry to Mori you, you have to meet these conditions.Your Invasion Meter must be full. You must be downed by his Mind Invasion attackHenry can only mori you in world breaker. (not including the mori offering.)
I've noticed that he was able to kill people without them being on Death Hook, but I'll have to play a few more matches and get lucky enough to see it happen. Maybe other people have this knowledge.
4. For those wanting to know how to properly counter Henry. I've noticed that he has about a 4 - 5 Cooldown between each M2/ Mind Invasion attack, so every time you here that sharp shrill sound/audio cue, start counting between the time it spawns in and the next one. Knowing cooldowns is irrefutably one of the most important factors in learning how to play as a killer and against a killer.https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4050315#Comment_4050315
5. As @Senaxu previously said, Lockers are also a viable counter against the Upside Down Strike, but as you would with a Billy or a Bubba, you'll need to time it properly otherwise, they'll grab you out the locker and it'll be a free Hook for them. I fully agree with the notion that it's better to take a Health State then have Worldbreaker active.
6. This is incredibly important, so I highly implore you all to pay attention here. World Breaker will AUTOMATICALLY activate if Henry uses an M2 against someone who has their Mind Invasion Meter full. I've seen this happen multiple times. Not exactly sure why that is, but it is incredibly dangerous for someone who has their clock full to be attacked by that move.
Obviously, that'll mean World Breaker will activate and they can be killed. That means that Henry has a built in snowball effect as once that happens, you'll have to run to the clocks to deactivate the power or attempt to save that person from being killed.
Bodyblocking is somewhat effective but, since Henry's M2 is an aimed attack, I'd be more inclined to focus on the gens.
Honestly, the safest way to avoid being mori'd is to hop into a locker depending on where your hook state is because then they'll HAVE to hook or slug you; and seeing as how Henry cannot hit you with his Mind Invasion when you're downed. It's a safer bet then hoping you can run him for long enough; those hitboxes can be nasty if they choose not to agree with you.
Hopefully, all the information i've gathered is able to help somebody. I really have been enjoying this chapter, so if I find anything else out; I'll keep you all posted.I KNEW IT
The game literally does not mention this anywhere in his power description. The only reason I had an inkling of a guess was due to a loading screen tip that is EASILY MISSABLE.
-
Tournaments don't impact regular play whatsoever
Winstreaks I could maybe see your point but ask yourself, why do winstreaks exist? For regular people it's a challenge to spice up a game they might be bored of if they play regularly. For content creators, it's content and something to work on while streaming.
The "tryharding" has always existed, btw dating all the way back to the original depip squads of the old days.
-
I joined in 2020, I think I had around maybe 1k ish hours at that point since I'd been playing the game since Ghost Face & Ash released.
I play a lot less than I used to but I think it's better that way, playing this game too much is genuinely bad for you. Especially if you only stick to one role. I appreciate the game a lot more after a break.
I tend to take my breaks when there's big controversy going on. Like Krasue/Ghoul releases or the aftermath of the Walking Dead chapter.

You do have to wait like 0.55 seconds to throw the pallet back down. But if you just wait there, you can just drop the pallet back onto the survivor without Vecna being able to do anything against it. Just had that match and it feels awful to play Vecna with one ability of his doing absolutely nothing. It's pathetic honestly.
If you are standing there and can't drop it back down before Vecna can hit you, then the only reason I can come up with for that is lag.
I see.
Usually I drop it, then when its picked back up I double back into it and spam space bar, then nothing happens and I get hit.
-
@ad19970 said:
I just had a game with Vecna, and it turns out even if you predict the survivor throwing down the pallet, aka using Mage Hand right before the survivor starts dropping the pallet, they can still just drop the pallet back onto the survivors head before Vecna can get a hit against the survivor.
That has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever experienced in a video game. I totally get why survivors should be able to drop pallets back on to Vecna's that use Mage Hand after a survivor starts dropping the pallet, i.e. reacting to the pallet drop. Because survivors wouldn't have much counterplay against Mage Hand otherwise. But if I am able to predict the pallet drop of a survivor, I should be able to get a hit against the survivor.
So the pallet block duration desperately needs to be increased from 0.55 seconds to probably something like 0.75 seconds or Mage Hand will remain useless against survivors that know how to counterplay Mage Hand.
It's strange though because when I play Vecna, survivors can do this
But when I play against him, I don't have the drop pallet prompt anymore when he picks it back up
I don't get it?

I kinda did...oops..
I wonder if this chapter would work best as a survivor standalone or a store collection? does Smt have notable personalities for the bad guys? Persona has Hitler, who is a certified jerk and not nice guy. Are all the bad guys just demons?
The only major recurring "antagonist" would be Lucifer. Antagonist in quotes because you can side with him in several of the games and he's not explicitly the "evil" one. SMT's all about law vs chaos. His personality and beliefs vary from game to game but he's always chaos aligned.

The Demi-fiend from SMT3 would be a sick choice for a killer

imo, having your aura read by 90% of the roster isn't that much of an issue
It's Nurse, Blight, Ghoul and maybe to a certain extent Hillbilly and First/Henry who take it to the extremes.
-
I actually think the counterplay idea itself isn't the problem necessarily. Springtrap's just not threatening enough to make it actually mandatory.
It's better to just do gens instead. It's objectively the best thing to do when you're not being chased.
Take Henry Vecna's counterplay; the reason you do it is to not only help the person being chased if they can outlast it but also to safeguard the rest of your team when the chase moves to the next survivor (which might be you).
Or Xeno's turrets - knocking Xeno out of their power turns them into a basic m1 killer which is way easier to deal with.

that auras been quite nuts. I hope it doesn't change but the wording should be slightly changed because dbd tends to normally be quite literal and "killer reveals your aura" is misleading.
but man, I really do feel like a psychic! I threw on Empathic too for the vibes
tbh I guess in literal terms "reveal your aura to the killer" and "Killer reveals your aura" are the same thing. You are right though for sake of clarity it should just say "Any time your aura is revealed to the killer" instead.
It's a fun build for sure, works best as the obsession. I've been pairing it with Eleven's Extrasensory Perception since that perk grants 'Elusive' which lets you choose to hide your own aura, which can help counter Object's downside of sometimes sandbagging you by showing you to the Killer at bad moments.

People really seem to be missing this. He's also 4.4, so zig zagging is just going to get you zoned into an M1. This isn't Nurse where she's slower than the survivor.
You can be unpredictable to a point, but the zoning is completely free for this killer. I've had chases where I dodged 4 or 5 vine attacks and it still ended up being a 30 second chase because of how spammable the ability is. It's not healthy. Needs to at least be on a token system a la Blight where you get 5 chances and then go into a cooldown.
Not to mention the fact that this Killer's built in counterplay is basically mandatory if you want to stand a chance. Not that I'm complaining I do like the fact that for once a built-in counterplay is actually worth doing and meaningful (without completely crippling the Killer like say Xeno) but still it's free gen stall on top of everything you just said
