The good ol' "I started this kill animation right before they cleansed my 5-Tokens Hex: Devour Hope.".
Yeah, you lost the big boy, but barely getting that kill in is like a slap in the face of the cleanser.
-
Sounds like a party that just wanted to mess with the Killer.
If they were serious, all they'd need is one Survivor who focuses on Generators, and that would've been it.
-
I wouldn't really support the claim that people in general like playing against Wraith.
Maybe they like facing his Killer Power in general, but a pretty common use of that Killer Power is to camp close by while cloaked.
It's also pretty logical that you'd enjoy a trial that you are more confident in winnning than losing.
There's numerous posts here of people going: "SWF? I quit." or "Spirit? I quit."
-
Any Coldwind Farm map is good by my book.
I've got no problems with tracking & chasing in corn, and they don't know that.
-
Looping.
It's just too bad it's 80% of the Survivor gameplay, so it can't really be revamped.
Still, i'd love to see this old ass mechanic be replaced, it's boring to me from both sides.
-
Trapper.
-
Understandable frustrations, selling the game will only add more issues though.

I was running that, but more often than not the killer was still finding and closing the hatch first.
“Hooray. I can see the aura of the closed hatch that I can’t do anything about. Yay.”
Understandable, have a great day!
-
Left Behind?
-
Both, so there's Killers for everyone.
-
None, i'm not gonna regret choosing the role that's supposed to kill.
-
As a recent Killer-only player, i find Survivor way too boring of a role.
I can't tell you what i'd want, i can only tell you i find nothing entertaining about it (anymore).
-
If you mean like Dead Hard, they can just hold the "move forward" button to get the grab.
If you mean they actually have to be in a moving forward state, they can back up for a fraction of a second, move forward and get the grab.

No Coup De Grace on the Fun Wraith Build?
Yeah, i want to have actual fun with Wraith.
-
Time for me to hear your Wraith reasoning.
-
Ability to save 3 loadouts on characters (eg Genrush build. loop build, troll build)
Access to "Premium" queue - this means people who support the game will get a preference when the ready up. People who pay go the front.
No thanks, i don't want a Fallout 1st for DbD.
-
Having to see the "Congratulations! You reached LVL 50 on the Bloodweb! Click again to continue." message everytime i complete a LVL 50 Bloodweb.
-
Serious
Killer power
- Wailing Bell, i'll never prefer kills over fun in terms of the Killer Power.
add-ons
- "All Seeing" - Blood, to easily spot Generator jockeys hiding nearby.
- "Windstorm" - Blood, to cover the map faster.
Offering
- Murky Reagent, since the 2 big Memento Moris are nerfed to what they are now, this is the next best thing honestly: Fog doesn't bother me much, and while you can see and hear a normal Killer, there's no Terror Radius while i'm cloaked, and spotting a shimmer is a lot harder now.
Perks
- Barbecue & Chili, to see my next target, pairs really well with both Add-ons.
- Make Your Choice, to keep a Hook-chain going, pairs really well with both Add-ons.
- Pop Goes The Weasel, to apply some Generator pressure when needed and/or when i have the time.
- Enduring, to satisfy my pure hatred for stuns in videogames.
Fun
Killer power
- Wailing Bell, something about landing that super-lunge feels great.
add-ons
- Coxcombed Clapper, to combine with "The Ghost" - Soot, to become a deadly silent duo. These 2 Add-ons on their own can make him quite the scary Killer. Maybe not deadly, but it's almost like a Tier-1 Myers kind-of scary.
- "The Ghost" - Soot, see Coxcombed Clapper.
Offering
- Bloody Party Streamers, earning BP is pretty much the most "fun" i can make out of an Offering, and idk about y'all, but i personally DO feel better, though it might only be a tiny bit, if i share that enjoyment with others.
Perks
- Barbecue & Chili, to find my next target for Hex: Devour Hope Tokens, and another reason explained at Bloody Party Streamers.
- Hex: Devour Hope, the main dish for my fun in DbD, getting those kills is quite yummy, and if it happened every trial, i know i wouldn't enjoy it as much as i do now, it's because they're rare that i find them so yummy.
- Spirit Fury, another thing i don't really like is caring about Pallets. Now i do have an anti-Pallet build for Wraith of course, but this is my #1 fun build, and the anti-Pallet build ain't my #1. Still, i like saving the Spirit Fury charge for those important Pallets, to (almost) ensure a hit. (And again, to just not care about dem Pallets.)
- Enduring, see my Serious build's Enduring explanation.
-
Never use it, my headphones are more than enough.
-
Not really.
At the least i'd want it on a PTB.
-
Wraith's Killer Power isn't to cloak, it's to- *Lightburn noises*
-
Well the culture is quite mixed, but generally: If you do something the other side doesn't like, you'll hear about it.
Camping a Survivor on the Hook is often seen as an attempt to get a kill which means denying that player any further playtime in this match.
While getting the kill might not be your actual goal with camping, the kill could be the result of the camping, and so they generally assume that. (Camping could also be done for other purposes, like having a Dying Survivor on the ground nearby, or knowing someone's hiding nearby and you wait them out.)
They have some tools to do something about the camp, namely putting 100% focus on repairing the Generators, and the Borrowed Time Perk which'll make the unhooked Survivor immune to 1 hit for a little while.
I have never had a single complaint of me camping an Exit, cause there's always 2.
The Survivors have the 3rd person view, they're the ones who can spot you while you being unable to spot them.
If you spot them while they come for the Exit you camp and they get caught as a result, that's generally on them. (Exceptions exist of course, like a still, cloaked Wraith, but that's just smart use of his Killer Power.)
In short, i say: Camp all the Exits you want.
Camp hooked Survivors all you want as well, but beware: Mindlessly camping can cost you a lot of BP, chances of success, and can still cost you a kill too if they do use certain tools and/or techniques to save them.
-
Ehh, very rarely do i get those, it's mostly just #########-you's that i get.
If i do get them, i just report and move on.
I have no desire to engage with those who threaten my life.
-
Could you explain this?
I can't see anything besides the HUD, brick walls & glowing cosmetics.
-
They're mainly for showing off your outfit to the Survivors.
Whether that's worth it to you is up to you.
-
Hi. ✋
-
I don't think removing cosmetics for the sake of making some room in the Store even crossed their minds.
A visual re-design of the Store would happen way before that.

I'm not surprised. People like shiny things, exclusives, etc., and DbD has been working hard to make sure that all the marketing techniques to prey on a consumer's weakness are being used. It's bound to make them money. Furthermore, it's different enough from other successful games that its novelty further boosts its popularity. After that, the combinations of dopamine rushes, frustrations that always seem to almost go away, and (most importantly) the grind function to suck players into the product.
Was this post to combat with facts the individuals claiming DbD is slowly dying, @Boss? Or, perhaps simply to provide the facts for others to use?
Simply to provide the facts for others to use.
If people want to believe the game's dying, that's fine by me.
-
I'm probably going to be the only one saying this, but the distance looks actually within range, albeit it barely is.
And the delay of the hit actually happening is something i get quite a lot myself as Wraith with distant hits like that.
I'm not saying it ISN'T an actual issue, but this doesn't convince me.
-
Yeah, Nightmare's rework was a result of overwhelming negative feedback.
Save The Best For Last's Token system was repeatedly named as a great idea they found as a suggestion.
There's enough other examples.
Whether they listen a lot or "enough" is a whole 'nother discussion, but it's not like they're 100% deaf.

- is a cosmetic
- very very very slight increase in bloodweb node rarity
- gives you something else to grind for if youve played too much
Only reason I still play rn is to grind things, to be honest; without it I probably would've quit a while back.
I think your 2nd point is lacking about 7 more very's, but this'll do. 😜

Haddonfield 2 Electric Boogaloo
They said they can't put it in Haddonfield, license restriction or smthn.
-
Cul-de-sac.
-
Barbecue & Chili, but since almost everyone says that anyway, i'll post my #2.
Enduring.
-
I'm not saying they should...but i Would.
Don't use them at all myself, and i just don't care what map the other side wants to play on.
They're a BP sink to me, and i'd much rather have the nodes on the Bloodweb spawn some useful Add-ons or BP Offerings.
-
No, i'm pretty much the same.
Of course i would like for all bugs to be fixed, for world peace in DbD, etc. etc.
But it doesn't get to me, not anymore at least.
-
Geez, that's just a disgrace.
And that's me toning down my choice of words.
-
- Lore: Wraith.
- Design: Wraith.
- Favorite: Wraith.
- Literally not buying anyone any cosmetics whatsoever except literally everything for Wraith.
- I get other Killers up to LVL 40 (by playing Wraith), get their 3 Teachables on the way, then go get them on Wraith. (I'm usually quite the completionist, but the constant leveling of new characters doesn't feel rewarding when i only play 1 character anyway, so i decided to be a completionist on him only.)
- Spirit is a close 2nd for me cause she's so similar, but i haven't been bored enough of him once to switch to her for even 1 trial.
Stop me.
-
Sure, mindless complaining isn't great.
But saying it's fine just because many nerfs happened isn't something i agree to either.
Not related to the subject you presented, but if there's an issue making one side incredibly powerful, you can't just say that a lot of nerfs happened and therefore this is fine.
If some Killers get hit with 10 total small nerfs in the next patch, will that grant them a "New OP mechanic" pass for the patch after that?
-
I don't see how bodyblocking is a broken mechanic, and Wraith isn't exploiting it, but can just put it to good use.
Of course, the last-Survivor-bodyblock without EGC and then AFK until either side disconnects is the sole exception here, i'll never agree to that.
But trapping Survivors into corners and then hitting them or waiting out a (potential) DS can just be the smart thing to, same goes for the Pallet block, why risk having them use the Pallet when you can tell them no with your body (lol) and start an uncloak?
Oversight or not, it's a thing now.
Looping surely wasn't intentional, otherwise the actual infinites wouldn't have popped up everywhere in the beginning.
But it's a thing now, and was also pretty heavily encouraged by the game for a while in the earlier years. (I mean that there weren't many Perks coming out, if any, that said: "Instead of looping, try this instead.")
Actually pushing Survivors with your hitbox also doesn't exist.
You can manipulate where they have to go and catch them in corners, but only if they're already there.
If pushing them was a thing, then bodyblocking Survivors wouldn't be a problem when you carry one.

Smaller... is that somehow better, clearer, cleaner?
Nope.
Might save some frames depending on your hardware, but in return Survivors could be harder to spot since everything's smaller, and Great Skill Checks might feel harder too.

I'm a curious lowly consoler so what's the diff?
The difference is that windowed will simply make everything smaller.
-
Oh cool, can you explain your Wraith positioning for me?

Oh wow I'm dumb... Guess I just got ahead of myself trying to reply at work and shared the first video that popped up on YouTube. I did see something that looked legit a while back about a third game being made but I can't seem to find it again, soooo yeah, probably wasn't actually legit lol. That's too bad
Can always hope. 🤷♂️

Well here's the trailer from IGN lol
That's the trailer for The Evil Within.
The title says E3, not 3, cause it was shown at E3.

But even the devs themselves have said that they've been wondering about if they maybe should remove perk tiers or not. There are many ppl that seem to agree on removing perk tiers on other popular threads about the grind.
A maybe's not a yes.
I've heard them like lots of things that they don't implement.
-
A lot of things have been suggested for years now.
Just cause it makes sense to 99.9% of the people doesn't guarantee it'll come one day.
-
Betcha it's purposefully somewhere outside of the map, and you'd have to walk and attack in this specific wall, at this angle, to clip out and land right next to it.
-
Not gonna say Survivor Perks, in my own opinion i don't know Survivor well enough to make suggestions on them.
Not even gonna say obvious ones, as those have probably already been listed.
Shadowborn, unaltered, with a FOV slider in the options menu that can slide from the current standard FOV to Shadowborn III's FOV, just in case anyone dislikes it.
Barbecue & Chili, make the Aura thing its own Perk, make the BP thing standard, more BP will surely incentivize some people to switch some targets sometimes.
Franklin's Demise, not the damage-Items part, just the make-them-drop-it part.
Mad Grit, with the wiggle cooldown now lasting only as long as the Killer's successful attack animation. (Idk the exact duration of that animation, so forgive me if Mad Grit III is already like that.)
Zanshin Tactics, for ranks 20-16 only.
Additionally, i just want to say that in my opinion anyone suggesting any Hex Perk isn't suggesting a good idea.
It'll always put all other Hex Perks at immediate risk, considering all Survivors would now know that there's at least 1 Hex in the trial.
There's already risks with them, like an immediate find, or spawning in an open space, so we don't need the added risk of everyone immediately knowing that hunting for one WILL (eventually) result in at least 1 successful find.
Hex: Haunted Ground might be the sole exception.
-
Curious. I'll follow it for now.
