You don't actually want all of these nerfs at once right? Because that would be way too much.
No I think if a few things are changed she could be balanced pretty easily. Biggest issue imo is the turrets being nearly useless and her not getting a cool down even if she is knocked out.

10 seconds after using all 5 rushes for map mobility. Xeno has to take at least 8 seconds for 2 animations and the travel time to get to the closest outlet. Maybe, maybe you can argue stronger than base blight as I have only played 8 or so games vs xeno but alch ring or iri tag on a good blight is absurd.
You don't have to leave the burrow to find people, she has info from inside the burrow. So you don't need to waste animations leaving and checking each area. Blight is absurd with those addons, so is Xeno.
Something I realized today while playing, she might be the only completely silent killer. While she is in crouch mode she makes no noise. So without wall hacks it is very hard to pick up on her mind games.
So many design choices have led to an incredibly oppressive killer, it isn't one thing making her op imo. There are componding factors that lead to a situation that feels nearly impossible to deal with.

Are you under the impression xeno is more oppressive then alch ring or iri tag blight? I think the power is more forgiving than adrenaline vial and it's disgusting but not that level of strong.
I do yes, I think she is capable of being stronger than blight. Blight is at least limited in his ability to traverse the map, if he goes to the wrong gen he is out of juice. She can just continually burrow until she finds people, and her chase is equally as quick as his. So IMO her mobility is much stronger, she also doesn't need any aura perks, which allows her to run full regression.
I do expect her tail attack to be changed or her turrets. Which will bring her down to below his level. I personally think they thought the turrets would be stronger. But one of her addons makes it nearly impossible to get broken out by turrets.

People would probably take you more seriously if you have a larger sample size.
Also you claim that your dataset is an accurate representation against the average solo queue team. However how do you know that your teammates are solo queue too? Do you ask them in every pre game chat? What if they don’t reply or lie? If there’s a duo or trio in your team, do you discard the data from that match?
The only constant I see here is you and the killer is Xenomorph. Just like how you questioned the validity of Nightlight data, people can question the validity of your data too.
Absolutely. You can only account for so many variables and get as close to a reliable answer as possible. I think I am doing enough to suggest that my stats are close to an accurate representation. I never give up, I discount DC games, I play the same builds, I don't count games if I am doing a challenge.
I think the biggest issue people grasp with stats is what the test is actually measuring. I don't think my stats would be Xenos overall kill rate. But I do think it would be very close to her kill rate against a solo squad at the top end. And in knowing that killrate I think it's too high. Especially if I compare it to other killers that are also included in my stats. She is at least 10% above everyone else.
I think if you were to look at what Nightlight is measuring, it would be the experience of the top half of players. SWFs and solos included.
And I don't see anyone defending Xenos strength. I see everyone saying "it's too early to know". I disagree, we have had plenty of time to digest her. She is too strong.
And me as a single human, it's not feasible to provide you with a sample size you would be happy with. Despite the last booster shot only being tested on 12 mice.

Anyone can make an account and upload, it also keeps your *personal stats* in your own dashboard after you upload the matches.
The vetting process is detailed in the official documentation.
I'd argue nightlight data consists of *mostly* mid to high mmr data, with a few low mmr matches in between.
It's good enough to obtain a fairly accurate statistical analysis of DBD in terms of pickrates , killrates, perk usage rates etc etc. It has stayed on par with official bhvr stats for quite a long time with just a couple % of difference.
I wish BHVR would put out stats based on SWFs and Solo players. I think it would destroy peoples perception on this game.

Nightlight is a dbd website where people upload screenshots of the endgame screen to be validated by its AI.
If you want to understand what kind of matches qualify you can read up on the documentation.
Nightlight.gg is fairly reliable and has stayed consistently on par with official bhvr stats within a couple percents. Its just lacking representation from lower mmrs because by logic alone, casuals don't care about the game that much to upload their matches to the site, however lack of low mmr representation is honestly a big plus since data from nooblets is worthless.
2300+ matches have been uploaded to nightlight.gg and the killrate sits at a fair 57%.
For all the "90% killrate" claims you do you still have yet to show your statistical work backed by cold hard evidence.
One could even argue that your statistics would be inherently biased due to multiple factors.
Oh I assumed this was a website by the competitive killer player. Anyone can upload? What sort of vetting is there? I am happy to take a screenshot but I will get what I always get "You need a bagillion matches before I will look at it".
I think it's a cool website but I would doubt anyone below the 5-10% is uploading data. You are just going to get which killer is doing well at the top end.
Like I said above I just reset it because the game has changed pretty significantly since I started recording.
Bias isn't always a bad thing, mine is biased towards how a solo survivor would do against killers.

News flash all the game's mmr cares about is escapes & kills and the stats that we have access to proved you wrong and you're trying to weasel your way out of it
Both his and my stats could be correct. He plays at the very peak end of DBD, he could be playing against swfs and competitive teams back to back. I play by myself and regularly get teammates that would struggle opening a new pair of scissors.
A 58% killrate against comp teams is very good, that's a competitive viable killrate. If she is doing that well against comps, then a 76% kill rate against solo groups makes sense does it not?

What in the god damn hell are you on about?
My statistics are an accurate representation of what her kill rate would look like against the average solo queue team. His statistics are a dump from what I would hope is top end killer mains? But I would have to look at his FAQ if he even has one. 2.3k games in this time frame is a ton of different people sending him numbers. How do you know the numbers you are getting from them aren't lies? What if survivor and killer mains are sending in numbers? What if the people sending in numbers are trolling or just paying for fun?
I use the same perks every game I record, I keep track of DCs but I keep the 2 stats separate. I also have a separate row for killers who hard tunnel. To see if tunneling actually increases kill rate (spoiler it increases your kill rate by 15-25%).
I just reset it a few weeks ago so I am fresh, with only 60 games. And Xeno just came out so it would be impossible to get to a respectable data set in the time frame. That being said, she is performing very strong with how new players should be with her.

Show your work then.
Nightlight.gg currently has 2300+ xeno games and it shows a 57% killrate.
And that clearly shows that xeno isn't as opressive as yall claim it to be.
It's one of those times where it all chalks up to survivor skill issue.
So in other words he is including a ton of variables like other players and a ton of different perk load outs that make the statistics unreliable.

Half of the video is a Xeno chasing with no power. Looks a lot like a brand new account to me.

again skull merchant was causing the same exact thing as what you blamed xeno for with the opening post the only difference is xeno is actually fun to play and is popular
I disagree, I play against 1 SM a week. I have played against 20 Xenos in the past 24 hours. Everyone is playing her right now, because they know she is broken. All this does is cause a huge survivor MMR deflation, which will be felt by the weaker killers down the line.
There aren't enough SMs to do what Xeno is doing right now. Not to mention not every SM plays like she needs to play to be broken.

What problem didn't Xeno start? I still don't have any clue what you are trying to say.
SM is not OP, regression gaming and 3 genning is OP. She does the same thing Knights/Blights do.

As you can see in the video I posted, you are wrong. They take your power away an put the Alien in a situation where he has to chose between destroying the turret and giving you time to get distance, or continue the chase but lose his power. When survivors use them correctly, that is.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3533408#Comment_3533408
And I'm telling you that it's not one of the easiest powers to aim of their kind as you have a short window before the attack goes out automatically, followed by a 3 second cooldown. So again, you are wrong and I presented video evidence of it.
Also, I don't agree, Nemesis and Xenomorph have a similar power and that's about it. Nemesis being able to break pallets with his whip makes him better in loops than Xenomorph. The thing is, in the current survivor meta you need a killer with chase power, that's why Xenomorph is "better" right now.
So in any case, Nemesis need a buff (maybe the Infection doing something apart of giving yet another free hit to survivors and occasionally hearing a cough) and not the reverse.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3533433#Comment_3533433
True, what its slowdown match is the easy counter that allow survivor to take away that power for a long time. Like I said in another post, if you make his power a burden to use while making more easy for survivors to take away, what we would have is another Singularity case.
In short: You are wrong. Learn to use the turrets as survivor and play a couple of days like him and you would see it by yourself.
It's like you guys both read and don't read at the same time. You are still arguing something I didn't say.
Swap from playing the killer to playing against the killer and come back with some better opinions.

Are you ignoring the fact that the majority hates going against skull merchant to the point where they disconnect on site
Again skull merchant started it xeno just picked up her slack since they are a fun and popular killer to play as that doesn't have to rely on 3 genning for their matches
People DC against SM because she drags the games on for a very long time, just for them to lose anyway. Xeno ends the game very fast, I haven't played against a single camp/tunneling or 3genning Xeno. They are strong enough that they don't need to do annoying over the top strategies.
Turns out, if you play in a non annoying way, people don't dc. Weird right?
-
@Majin151 said:
As if skull merchant wasn't already causing this but because xeno is popular let's blame xeno
Skull merchant would be balanced if they addressed regression or 3 gens. She isn't OP baseline in my opinion. She is taking advantage of a game system that shouldn't be unlimited.
Xeno is capable of destroying people with zero perks and addons.

So you know how MMR works? Where do you get this information? Or is this just a prediction?
We know how MMR works they explained it to us. Its a 4 way 1v1. If you die you lose MMR based on the killers MMR and yours. If you escape through the gates it goes up. If you jump through the hatch you don't move.
MMR feels bad because it favors quicker queues over match quality. Not only that but there appears to be only two tiers of MMR. You are either above or below the MMR cap. If you are above the cap you can match with just about anyone above it. If you are below you get the below people. Again we know MMR cap is a thing because they have mentioned it before.
The game tries to put you with people near your MMR but quickly falls apart with queue times and back filling being a thing. If you ever join a lobby where the killer leaves or other survivors leave. MMR sort of just went out the window.
It's not a great system, I think rank based was a lot more engaging and fun.

it has not even been a week of xeno but apparently the world is ending and stuff...
Nurse released during a very very different game. There was broken things on both sides and truly that's what made the game fun. But here we are, where they are pushing MMR and balance. Xeno doesn't fit in modern DBD.
I am at least glad you killer mains agree she is as strong as nurse now.

@Chomperka said:
isnt mmr supposed to solve exactly that problem??
If one killer is completely obliterating everyone and everyone is playing her, like they are rigth now. Nearly 70% of my games are against Xeno. It will push the survivors lower and lower until they are playing against people they can loop with one hand. Which is already happening in my games.

That would assume that Xenomorph has an enormous kill rate. Otherwise we would have basically the same effect as with Sadako and Caitlyn 3Genner. Nothing at all.
If Xenomorph's kill rate was that high, then the devs would nerf it. No doubt about that.
I don't think we have ever been in a position before where a killer has been this strong. I think the kill rate is way higher than people think it is. People keep saying she is A tier but I have seen many survivors say Blight feels like a break compared to her right now.

I don't understand why it's so difficult for people to read on these forums. It's CD and slowdown do not match its difficulty to use.

As a Nemesis main I can say: You are so wrong. It is not easier to aim for the sole reason that you can't hold it to mindgame a dodge and wait what side the survivor is going to move like Nemesis's whip. And yes, it has a lot of cooldown, as you can see there.
It is pretty clear to me that you don't even try to play as the Alien before talking, and that what you want is not having to put any thought in how you play and be able to counter the killer with ease. There is not other explanation for the things you are saying.
I didn't say it was the easiest to aim/hit, I said it was the most forgiving when it comes to how easy it is to land a hit. It's cooldown/slowdown does not warrant how easy it is to use.
I am a big fan of nemesis, he is probably my favorite killer. But, idk why you would want to play him over Xeno right now. He is just a far weaker version of her. I am not playing her because I am not a huge fan of doing things that are broken. I avoided using Dead hard when it was strong. I don't even currently use MFT.
-
@Batusalen said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3533308#Comment_3533308
Again, because you don't know how to use them. And before was that they didn't work, now that it is obvious it is you who don't know how to place them, the problem is they "only" buy you 5 seconds...
It seems that unless they nerf them to the point of being another EMP that allows you to totally nullify the killer with the press of a button you won't be happy about them.
I have explained above, there are two ways they could go. But having the turrets be both weak and not really affect the killer when they do work. Is not it. The killer is clearly overtuned, would you rather they nerf the tail attack or make the turrets useful?
-
@Merciless_Killer said:
The tail isn't as easy to hit as people complaining about it make it out to be and if it was more punishing for a miss then it would need to be easier to hit with it which you would certainly hate more.
Yeah alien can go into a burrow to recharge the tail whip faster, but it has to go to a burrow to do that and actually move inside the tunnels to recharge. There aren't burrows everywhere. It would have to leave chase to go and do that.
Turrets are actually very effective if you use them effectively. i.e not just right next to a gen where the alien will surely expect it to be. Place them where you plan to run to if the alien comes.
The time it takes to exit a burrow is insanely slow near a hooked survivor.
It's easier to hit than most of the aimed M2s in the game, and it has little to no CD, and no reload. It is forgiving compared to the other forms of M2s in the game. The most forgiving.
If the Alien is broken out of her power using a turret, I think her burrow should also get a decent cool down. If turrets aren't going to be buffed. If they buff turrets to actually work then you can keep the current form.
The problem is you need to put the turret in a spot with plenty of open space, which usually means walking a good distance away from where you picked it up. A lot of maps don't even have enough room to make the turrets work. So you end up spending more time setting the turrets up, than you get from actually using the turrets.
I have already played against some Xenos that just sit in the burrow near the hook and they have plenty of time to come out and get a free trade.
-
@Batusalen said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3533296#Comment_3533296
That only proves that:
- You don't know how to use the turrets in an effective way.
- Genrushing is still a problem.
I had games where survivors dodged the tail without problem and they used the turrets in a way that I have to chose to give the survivor I'm chasing an advantage or I'll lose my power. So, it's on you.
The turrets are a bait in the current form, not only do they not work 80% of the time. They only buy you 5 seconds.

This is why TikTok sucks.

That would make it weak again 10 is fine for now and if anything they could make last gen does not give any so then still 8 tokens for killer but 10 is fine so no need to nerf myers already weakest killer and it's not bad thing if this perk makes him bit more viable.
Perks strength shouldn't be based on whether or not they make lower tiered killers viable. You have to remember there are broken killers in this game that take these stronger perks and become even more broken. Perks should be balanced regardless of who runs them.
If a killer is being held up by a perk then the killer needs to buffed. Needing to run certain perks also removes a lot of the fun that DBD offers. This community is extremely opposed to perk tuning, but balancing perks would mean you have more choices. If they adjusted the broken perks more often, you would get to try out more fun builds.
You think I enjoy running windows every game? There is no other perk that lets me know what my teammates have used on the map as well as windows. More than half my slots as a solo player are just perks that let me get info, things that SWF players get baseline. The perks shouldn't be required but they are, because they refuse to buff solo survivor.

Ok but it’s one of those perks that is easily adjusted to. Like enduring / spirit fury, once I know you have it, you aren’t going to get anymore value from it because I adjust how I loop. If I see you have coup, I will just predrop. Not to mention it makes DH exceptionally easy to time.
Bro, no one except cheaters run DH anymore. You can still predrop at 80% of the loops and the killer can just hit you around the loop. I think the only adjustment you make knowing the killer has coup, is that your chase will be very short. The only reason people don't know Coup is busted right now, is because almost no one runs it.

What? How does coup give you half the hook stages on its own? Sure, coup can be strongish, but to say it’s OP is ludicrous.
There are 12 hook stages in a game. If you land a hit with each stack of Coup, that's 5 hooks. If you are playing a killer like Myer's who can take advantage of 1 shots with it, you will get even more out of it. The perk was weak with only 5 tokens, but 10 is a bit much. I think it should grant 1 for each gen like before, but give 2 more once all the gens are powered, getting you a total of 7.

I think the problem here is it takes Xeno roughly 10 seconds to kill a turret, burrow and get her power back. So even when you do counter her. You bought 5-10 seconds. The decent Xenos just stop chase if they lose their power and go get it back. That being said, I am the only person since patch who has escaped through gates. The only other escapes have been hatch. I have been in multiple games now where everyone in the match was using flamethrowers. I played in a lobby with a 3 man SWF using the "OP" For the people, Buckle up build. We still lost. This killer is not even close to being balanced.

- Many killers took a break because of the easy mode and now have a competitive killer even for mediocre players

No. Simply put, a handful of games will not give a reliable indicator of what Xeno's kill rate is. That's not me, that's literally how statistics work - you take the largest sample possible. The fact you didn't even answer a reasonable question tells me you've got results from 5-6 games tops.
The 90% kill rate was your leading point, I just wanted to know how many games you played to get that. I don't want to argue, you don't want to argue - then drop it and stop replying.
I don't have to justify my feedback, I offered it up incase others are experiencing the same. I don't need a leading point. This isn't a debate, I am providing feedback.

And if you didn't want me to give you an answer you didn't like, you shouldn't have asked me a question.
All you did was come in here and go, "No matter what numbers you get, they will never satisfy me". I knew from the first comment you were here to argue.

I mean, we're talking hundreds, if not a over a thousand games, before your 90% kill rate statement has any weight to it. Anything less isn't going to produce remotely reliable results.
This forum is for feedback. If I wanted to argue I would have posted it in general.

Out of interest, statistics from over how many games?
What number of games would satisfy? I will just keep playing until I reach that number.

Bring a map and run inner healing. Been working out pretty well for me. I get on average 2-3 heals per game with little effort. I run overzealous to make up for some of the lost time.
Your other option is to run an "injured" build. And just never heal. So run things like Iron will or Made for this. Healing is not really an option right now, especially in solo survivor games.

That statement is true for high MMR matchmaking as well. But if it makes you happy, I can say "70% of the roster" instead, so it's not an exaggerated number.
99% of the player base is not competitive players. 90% of the killers in the game can beat 90% of the players in dbd.
