  • You can't stack purple mist or stack anything ontop of it. You can stack 2 browns to make a yellow, or two yellows to make a purple, I believe. I've never in any patch notes seen this ever changed, unless they ninja changed it or there's simply some sort of bug

It's been like that...forever, since before the dark/light offerings were removed.

  • She still gets 2 kills on average, I'm sure. Perfectly balanced. Did you know most killers currently ,on average, get about 2 kills per game? The game is perfectly balanced based on our statistics. /s

  • If you pip without escaping it generally means that you played an active part in the match. That, or you simply you know, ran the killer a bit and immediately saved everyone you can. Of course if you have a bad killer, or you know, really effective teammates, then it can make that difficult. A killer that applies a lot of pressure and hooks while playing what you might call "fair" is the easiest way to earn points and a pip. That's why I never cared about playing against Nurse's, because the matches were usually over quick but I always pip'd and earned loads of bp lol\

Reality is, if you pip it doesn't mean you had fun. I don't think a game with the large amount of perks and killers in it should be balanced around fun or a 2/2 ratio. The point I was trying to make was I still had fun against the most OP killer of the time because I ran around, juked a bit, you know I had fun despite the fact that maybe my team got 4k'd. That said, and maybe I'm bias, but I'd take pre-nerf Nurse over current Spirit any day.

I usually dc when it is huntress because i have never met a huntress who doesn t face camp or tunnel hardcore, and it just ruins the fun for me, i know what to expect, i am not good at looping the killer for 5 gens so of course i will eventually go down and that is my end game obviously. It is annoying to deal with.

I mean at lower ranks I definitely think Huntress has been the one killer I've seen camp me more than anyone, for sure. At higher ranks I don't really know, but due to her lack of mobility a lot of people just play her as a patrol, for sure. Depending on the mood I only ever DC against a killer with an Eboni or a Huntress with insta's. Why they're still in the game, I don't know.

I play a lot of Hag and needless to say you either have a game where you absolutely destroy everyone, or you simply get rolled by really good survivors/SWF. I think she can be frustrating to play against, but even when I play in a way that's bad (traversing the map, spread out traps) people still just DC on me quite frequently. It's worth it when you see the dingdingding of multiple SWF quitting, though. A huntress who facecamps is a Huntress that is bad. Learn how a bad Huntress plays and don't get caught if you can :)

  • I mean people disconnect when I used to play Huntress with no addons or offerings, people disconnect when they try to do a le epic Dead Hard when they could've taken a pallet, don't get swung on, and then get downed and disconnect. They disconnect when you play a good Hag. They disconnect for any reason whatsoever, yet here we are still doing our best to try to make this game as fair as possible so that survivors have the best of times. That's why we don't care if they disconnect or want to punish it, cuz everbody hash a bad game now n dens!

  • All I'm saying is that 2 kills is vague when you read it on a paper and you don't consider how killers may get 2 kills. 2 kills isn't hard to get if you play a more patrol/campy-esq type of game, which you have to do if you lose gens quick. There's more to consider than just "Does killer get 2 kills?"

Just like when you go up against 4 man SWF that are, as you say, equally skilled as the killer. You're not going to get 2 kills unless you play a bit more scummy or you're playing a higher tier killer. When killers knew they were playing a sweaty SWF squad, for whatever reason, they'd pop on Spirit or Nurse.

Eventually you just pick any killer and accept your fate because unless you're a god tier x killer, then you're just not allowed to use your skill and a killer with an active power to get more than 2 kills, that's overperforming and wrong!

  • So what do you expect there to be on the forums? They're generally used for complaints or general discussion. That's...basically every forum ever. If you want fun and wacky go to reddit and read memes all day.

Muh quality forum discussion where. You don't even talk about what you'd like to see or anything like that, you're whining the same as everyone else, ironically.

  • The devs seem to believe that everything is more or less balanced, and they generally use their statistics rather than the feedback of the community or good players instead, which causes more problems than it fixes quite often.

And second, they seem to think that the only way to bring these killers up is to completely rework them, when it wouldn't take much time or effort at all to simply give them some balance changes. It's just ridiculous.

The worst killers? Sure, rework them. But killers like Trapper, for example? A few minor changes and he would be in a much better spot. A default bag, more consistent trap escapes making a trap be meaningful? Wraith, even removing his ability to be burned, or allowing him to pick survivors up and do other things invisible. Just, so many things you could do that would have an impact on killers that wouldn't make them much stronger but would make them better.

Well. x has y killrates so therefore they're more or less fine. Like, clearly there's something wrong if you guys really believe that. There's no point in bringing up those statistics repeatedly if you don't base the majority of your balance on those things.

  • I watched a Meg hold her Sprint Burst while the killer was on the total opposite side of the map, when I had Kindred and she and the other survivors could see it all.

I went from about 90 to struggle because of it, then just killed myself.

Idiots. It's because people are idiots.

  • Because these devs think the only way to balance killers is to completely rework them. They take forever to make changes to just about anything in this game, so perks and killers just sit the way they do.

So, with that in mind, it would probably take 5 years before they're capable of appropriately balancing the killers. The idea that they're nerfing top tier killers so they can balance all the lower tier ones is hilarious. No, they're not. It's EASIER to bring the S/A tier down to B than it is to bring the countless B and below up to A.

Then you may say, okay, maybe now they balance large maps, gen speed, and overall fundamentals. No, they really won't.

Obligatory "NOED OP REMOVE PLS" while we ignore 4 survivors who run BT/DS/Adrenaline/DH lole

  • Quit the game and play a good one until the day comes where you don't have to wait an hour :)

That's like having to wait half an hour for a queue and also spending money on a battle pass or cosmetics.

Me personally, when high rank queues took 50 years, I played Divinity 2.

  • The killer should be allowed to punish you if your teammate makes the mistake, whether it be on purpose or not. It's a team game. There's already enough safety for someone getting unhooked as it is with temp immunity that's already quite generous with the time and BT.

Trapper is mostly fine as is. They have reworked both wraith and trapper wraith is fine as well with his cloak lol you probably didn't play when uncloaking took 3 seconds and placing a trap took 3-4 without add-ons. They aren't a massive company and are busy trying to fix other things. Comparing them to blizzard is like comparing a chihuahua to a wolf.

They reworked his addons that had 500 negatives to 1 positive and increased trap placement time if you want to talk buffs in 3 years. The biggest problem with Trapper is how little impact traps often have and that good survivors can easily avoid them and make you useless quite often.

Doing something like removing the RNG aspect of his traps so that when you actual do catch someone in one, it actual has meaning, instead of a 1 in 4 chance to. They should also, by default, allow him to carry 2 traps.

Something just really needs to be done to make his traps a bit more impactful. Mostly fine? Maybe. But definitely not fine.

  • You can leave the game and remember their names or put them on a blacklist, if you really want. At red ranks for example queues are basically instant, which lets you dodge people who are always as sweaty as can be.

Beyond that you have to set reasonable expectations. All good players in a SWF group, playing incredibly optimally? Try and get at least 2 kills, set that as your goal. That's all you really can do. Got a bad map? Good survivors? Accept there's a good chance all 4 escape, but try to have fun if you can, try and improve. That's all one can do.

This is a game where the killer generally reacts to the survivors, when technically speaking it should be the other way around. If you're playing people like that, you may also need to change your playstyle. Maybe you need to proxy the hook more, use people as bait, stuff like that. You need to pick your battles, avoid specific areas of a map, use a bit of strategy and use how they maybe play against them. You'll never beat good SWF unless you learn to improve, but I am by no means saying that it's going to be fun.

  • Yes.

    Yes.

    No.

Judging by the devs own opinions on the matter, no.

If you're going to fix the problem, there can be no excuses, no justifications, no "But this or that, so you can't punish people." The biggest issue is that crashes and disconnects do happen because the devs can't seem to make their game stable after all these years. That is a good reason for not implementing something, and maybe there is a way around it to punish people.

This is the first patch I've seen that actually had any sort of forced disconnect, prior to the half a year of infinite loadscreen bugs. They need to fix their ######### so that there is no excuse for it being the games fault, and then punish people.

This is the only game that I have EVER played that does not punish people for leaving. The only games that do not do that are games that have a ranked version or games that have backfill AND have a ranked version. Just because your game is "casual" more than anything (despite not having more than 1 game mode, and it is, technically speaking, RANKED) does not mean you as a dev get to sit there and say that it's "fine" in any aspect. If you're fine with it, then I question your ability as a dev.

Ironic because the majority of the forums are full of entitled killer mains that ask for nerfs on every single thing survivors have but go off.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/070/HIBJOSGKNEIF.png

That's weird, because I heard that exact same thing said over a year ago when survivors were far, far stronger than killers were before all the nerfs. That the forums were only filled with "entitled killer mains" when the reality is, when you have a lot to complain about, you see a lot more complaints. What exactly do survivors have to complain about besides Nurse/Spirit and tunneling/camping? Maybe NOED. Maybe Insta Hatchets. Maybe Eboni Mori's. I agree. Fundamentally, there's a lot of problems with this game and they're all, generally, related to the survivors side, but not so much related to, say, perks themselves. It's more the game itself, not the survivors, more or less.

This wouldn't prove a balance issue. This would also be pointless. They're aware balance issues exist. The problem is trying to balance the game around massive skill gaps. I know everyone is obsessed with what happens at rank one. But the player base is mostly not rank one. Balancing around a small minority is not a good idea.

That's exactly why killers like Spirit, Nurse, Huntress exist in the game, because they're often bad at low ranks and can be used to their potential at high ranks. Killers that allow for good play and reward the skill of the person playing it. Balance of those killers aside it isn't bad for the game. The problem is when the devs sit back and decide to balance this game by looking at a piece of paper and seeing that x killers kill rate is too high, so they bring the killers that use those things down to the level of basic m1 killers. I don't really agree with that but I also don't play the game anymore so I don't particularly care.

I'm sure it's not an easy thing to try and balance, of course. It's kind of like watching one of the top killers/survivors and listening to what they say and they think when often times they're simply in another world even from your average red rank killer/survivor. So there's even a gap at red ranks themselves.

  • There's 4 survivors for 1 killer. I'm pretty sure the overall fun of 4 people trumps the overall fun of 1 persons. That's not what I believe that's just the reality of an overall casual game.

  • I run around everywhere, and I don't care if the killer finds me. I refuse to ever be someone who is immersed and never wants to interact with the killer, and sit on gens all game, let my teammate go struggle while I do a gen, not waste my SB, or countless other things my pathetic teammates do. The fun is in the chase, and while I won't go out of my way to get into one, I'll take every opportunity to get in one.

Basically, I just play the game :)

  • Ruin is a necessity - a symptom of a larger problem. It's so bad, it's still good.

Yet, the devs don't see a problem that every single person who plays this game does.

And that's why the game doesn't get balanced.

  • And making the quote background not white on white? How long have these forums were up before it took them to fix those simple things? lol

  • Bruh. I let survivors get the hatch all the time, often leading them in pretend chases. Do you know how often they're too dumb to realize what I'm doing and like, tea bag on the hatch?

I've literally let people clearly escape, went to get a drink, come back and the game isn't over. Turns out it's a survivor who doesn't leave until you see them jump in the hatch like a 5 year old.

As it turns out, people are idiots and 12 year olds :) lol

  • I thought this was a "talk about the DC epidemic" not a rant about EGC? From what I can see, it has nothing to do with EGC.

  • @Peanits said:

You definitely don't need to Ruin to play in red ranks. I do it myself on a regular basis. Sometimes I have a good match and win, sometimes I have a bad match and lose, other times I do okay and maybe get two kills.

I suppose it depends on what your bar is for winning, but it's definitely not essential. Will it help? Sure. All perks help you win. But relying on it in order to win is up to you.

Weird how the majority of top killers who both stream and play this game regularly at red ranks disagree with you, if you want to be competitive. Would you like to try playing a game of Trapper, Hag, Huntress, or some other B tier killers and write down your statistics compared to when you do run it?

I don't need to wear an umbrella when it rains, either. I mean, I completely understand why so many things are in such a terrible state when there are devs that honestly believe that Ruin isn't a problem and gen time isn't a problem. I just dunno what to say.

Let's just note. A very good Nurse will still hit you in those 2 blinks and never have to worry about that recharge being an issue. If the Nurse hits her blinks the first time, the recharge doesn't do anything against her. It only removed quad-omega-blink from the list of BS to face. Homestly it's not much of a nerf to good nurses who can hit blinks with no issue.

Sorry, you're thinking of god tier Nurse's. "Most" Nurse's were just really good with her, and these changes when playing against good survivors will not "always" hit you with those 2 blinks. Get real.

"Just hit your blinks 100% of the time, every time 5head" With changes that make that incredibly difficult. There's been plenty of posts on here that go into the details as to why what looks like a minor change is a massive one, but thankfully we have people like you to remind us that it's basically the same, just hit your blinks.

Word to the wise, devs, a killer should be strong without addons. Any killer that is reliant on addons to be strong is bad design. This game is filled with it and addon issues you just barely got around to addressing. Like, how has Doctor been out this entire time and you think that his pitiful distance for his shock is acceptable? You literally NEED a range addon for it. FOR A KILLER THAT'S ALREADY GARBAGE WITH OR WITHOUT IT! lol. You don't need an entire rework to simply buff the range of his shock, but you can't even do that because you're so afraid, or incapable, of balancing your game.
