  • I think I figured out what I needed. The friends lists "censors" your friends names with *****. The way it's worded is a double entendre. Could also be taken as you will be in offline mode to your friends and they cant see you're even in-game.

You can play customs if you only want to play with bots. No need to remove the D/C penalty for that.

I like killers will camp, tunnel, slug and then say I bought the game I can play however I want. Sorry but same goes for suciiding on hook its a game mechanic. I understand prideful survivor mains not liking this, but killer mains complaining about it? LOL

The DC penalty absolutely NEEDS to stay because having a bot instead of a player is still detrimental to the team and can still ruin games, just not as much as a hook suicide because that leaves absolutely nothing behind. People are killing themselves on hook to avoid the penalty? Remove that option from them. Come on, the penalty is really low at first, if someone is going to stop playing because there is always a penalty when they ragequit, maybe they already shouldn't be playing to begin with.

Killer not caring about a non-existent rulebook is not a problem. A killer LEAVING the match and immediatly ending it with the fun of all the other players is a problem, but the killer has to leave the game normally and take the penalty, while survivors have a way of circumventing this.

Not all hook suicides are created equal? That is true because there is another reason for a player to SOMETIMES want to die as fast as possible: giving hatch to another player. That's why the instant death on missing hook skillchecks should only happen if there is only one survivor left standing. Otherwise, it's either a technical issue or a player wanting to quit the game. If you want to quit the game everytime you notice you've been paired with a weak team, that's on you, not on the game, and you're ruining the match for everyone else when you do so. If everyone decided to leave everytime they started to lose with no penalty whatsoever, it would be hard to ever finish a match.

Oh, but players might not be liking a match and want to leave? Fine then, use the LEAVE GAME option and take the penalty. You choose to leave, you get a penalty, it increases if you try to abuse it, as it should be. The penalty exists to give players an incentive NOT TO LEAVE. The bots exist to reduce the damage caused when a player leaves. Both are necessary, but the intentional deaths on hook give players ways of circumventing BOTH this measures, which shouldn't happen. Seriously, I've never seen any other game where part of the community acted as if people who ruin matches by abandoning them were poor victims just because they would need to wait 5 minutes for another match (the first DC of the day is not even that, it's less than a minute).

Sure remove kobe, deliverance, anti-camp kobe when proxy camp, tunneling and slugging is removed. There will be far less ######### on hook then.

In most cases a survivor CANT suicide hook and get out of match, as I explained someone will usually save them (one of the rare times a soloq survivor will make it priority to save them), then the killer will slug them if they keep trying to get out of match.

Giving someone the hatch LOL. Killers pretty much always slug for the 4k another broken mechanic of the game thats not talked about it enough. Why yes one survivor can finish multiple gens in theory its not practical whatsoever, unless theres just one left. It makes it where killers only need to kill2 and slug 1 to get a 4k, instead of straight up kill 4.

"you notice you've been paired with a weak team, that's on you, not on the game" thats not entirely true, it is on the games MMR to at least some extent.

Other communities penalties systems arent as steep, they have like a peak of 5 minutes not like 3 days. Also these games are more balanced and dont have OP comp strats that baby killers can use basekit without skill vs soloq survivors for 7 years and counting.

  • @altruistic said:

Good players were good for years without MFT.

Good players will still be good long after MFT is nerfed. MFT was just the latest on the community chopping block. It’ll get nerfed and people will move on to the next thing. Don’t worry too much about it.

I would hesitate to buy DLC in the future, that’s the only feedback they will ever hear.

Thats part of the problem the skill cap to be good at survivor (especially in soloq) is much higher than Killer. The strongest things killer can do (and they are strong as they're used in comp) is proxy camp and tunnel (basekit, no perks required), that require little to no skill. Baby killers do it all the time. Never see a baby survivor looping a killer for multiple gens.

  • "...and will be completely hidden in your friends list." What is this though?

  • A few things: Now that bots are in play there shouldnt be a DC penalty. Why? Cause a person who killed themselves on hook is only choosing this because they dont want the DC penalty. Now maybe keep the PIP penalty but not the time penalty, up for debate.

Secondly, killers can be a problem as well. Normally (in my matches anyway and I assume most) killers are trying for the 4k, they don't care about survivors rulebooks or them having fun, etc. But like magic a lot of the times when a survivor tries to get out of the game the killer switches into "I'm the survivors friend now" or They begin to actually think they're a real life killer and the objective is to torture by slugging rather than hooking to win.

Lastly, not all suicide hooks are created equal. I for instance have a lot of hours so I can tell real quick in soloq what type of teammates I got by certain subtle things, like are they doubling/tripling up on a gen often? are they overly altruistic? are they just following the killer around with a flashlight contributing nothing? How quickly are they going down at strong loops? etc.

Point is there's a number of reasons players may suicide on hook and not just a "rage quit" I find this to be apart of the game in soloq anyway, soloq is terrible, so I don't fault players for that and some people don't have friends (imagine that! a loner gamer with no friends, so rare right? lol).

  • KIllers are abusing proxy camping to get around the new anticamp mechanic. Also most well known streamers killer mains i watch say dont chase people into the void, waste of time, plus you know they're not doing anything productive in there in terms of "winning". What's crazy is killers wasting their time going in there to prevent players from getting extra bp.

  • A year and half+ ago often, farming pigs and ghostface too. Now a days hardly ever.

  • Because a player with decent experience in a team on comms doesnt need windows at all. Noobs need it because they dont know map rng yet, experienced players may use it because they're in soloq or not on comms and need to know what pallets have been thrown. In a team on comms you can communicate this info.

EDIT: Forgot something crucial, windows will not help a noob loop much better, theres many variables in looping not just knowing where pallets/vaults are. This is why you dont see baby survivors looping a killer for multiple gens even with windows, while an experienced player can w/o it.

  • They already nerfed them from the PTB

  • @Reinami said:

ok, so you are defending that window then, because bloodlust is the only thing that keeps it being an infinite against huntress for example.

But i want you to stop and think about what you are typing. I am AGREEING WITH YOU that they should REMOVE BLOODLUST but so many other things about maps need to be addressed first, because bloodlust is the bandaid fix to these problems. And you can't honestly believe that those windows are fine.

You're talking about a window and huntress lol. Habitually vaulting a window in front of huntress is certain death.

  • They say hes killswitched but hes not, I still get him. And i get a bug or glitch everytime sometimes i get a penalty from crash smh

Calling other people crybabies isn't a good look for you right now.

Yeah it is, the irony is not lost on me so I came here to cry to try and balance the crying, this forum is very killer biased. I play soloq so killers crying is a joke any decent killer can get a 2k+ vs soloq (the majority of dbd matches). What happens is bad killers cant beat soloq then cry, decent killers get 4ks constantly vs soloq, mmr rises they get swfs all the time, lose, cry.

They already nerfed COH several times as well. With basekit healing being 24 seconds you're going to get a lot of DCs especially with sloppy butcher, only the tryhard survivors will remain eventually and guess what killer cry lol.

PS If you still don't believe me that this forum is killer biased count the number of negative or contrarian responses I get to people agreeing or even somewhat receptive to me. Your reply and others from my OP was all killer biased replies.

Imagine thinking that survivors should have to be good to do well.

Ever since the meta shakeup killers have become bad and lazy. anyone can 4k as killer these days. These changes will KILL, the game.

  • If a survivor can get value from DH several times in a match you're just a bad killer. All the killer crybabies in this forum killing the game. DH was popular because it was fun, had more interaction/skill than sprint burst, lithe etc.

So since it's fun it must be nerfed AGAIN. They just nerfed many other meta survivor perks and buffed all of killer basekit. Killers have just became lazy crybabies since the meta shakeup. And healing now no thanks, time to switch games RIP DBD.

Winning a major tournament. There's so much time and practice that goes into that as a team. The top teams are typically playing 30-40+ hrs per week just to make it into the top 8 consistently. The margin for error on either side is ridiculously small as you get deep into the bracket, and you need the killer and survivor side to both play a clean game. To top it all off on the killer side, you're often forced into a killer pick that you didn't choose yourself. You might find out 2 days in advance that you're playing Pyramid Head, for example.

The killers you see out there doing these win streaks are often not even the main killers on their comp teams. Alf is one of the best Nurses in the world, and he was not the main Nurse on Oracle when they were around.

So I've watched tournament play and its very boring. Im sure a lot goes into it, but to me it just looks like survivors predropping pallets and other 3 gen rushing efficiently. I say this as a survivor main.

He's very good dont think i've ever seen him lose, but as a viewer be prepared to deal with a serious chat, jokes and simping on characters is frowned upon there lol

  • Looping multiple gens in soloq without windows of opportunity or an exhaustion perk

  • @TigerSnake said:

RPD isn’t even a good map for killer lmao. The 3 gen in main hall is literally the only “good” part of it. If you guys wants that 3 gen eliminated, maybe let’s talk about actually balancing the map a little better for killer too?

It's not good because boring stale gameplay with 3gen meta. I think map was better as 1 map.

  • I'd like to witness these magical soloq games (majority of matches in dbd) where gens are just popping off the rails. Usually i cant get my teammates on gens, let alone to rush them. Or they all group up on 1 gen without prove thyself which is very inefficient. I've played for awhile now (5k hours) and tunneling has always been a thing but IMO it got way worse because:

    1. DS was nerfed and is no longer meta, so killers know DS is barely in play.
    2. Basekit BT, regular BT & OTR are all countered by the killer hitting off hook.
    3. BBQ was nerfed so that it no loner incentives hooking every person.

I fear new survivor Renato Lyra's perk "Blood Rush" will become meta if it isnt changed and killers will counter it by tunneling so the survivor can't get healed to use it.

  • Nine times out of ten if you run the killer for too long and hes too dumb to leave, he's butthurt and will keep tunneling then proceed to facecamp, EVEN IF YOU NEVER TBAG. Bonus points for hiitting on hook while facecamping. This is the equivalent of some one embarrassing/outplaying you one time for 10 minutes of your life and you make it your lifes work to end this person.

  • @OrangeBear said:

Stop taking camping and tunnelling personally. They are simply efficient strategies. Killer players are not there to entertain you, they are there to play the game just like you are. So unless they are breaking the rules then it's a game issue and not a player issue.

This old nugget, killers deserve ez free kills, but survivors dont deserve ez free escapes. Tunnelling, camping and slugging is very ez this is why baby killers do it, do you see baby survivors looping the killer for multiple gens? lol. Killers still crying about dead hard even after nerf and entire basekit of killer buffed lol.

  • @NewPlayer100102 said:

I like this map it has a killer bias now.

If you chose to camp those 3 generators the survivors are having a challenge to pop one.

How is this different from Garden of Joy in that it has a generally accepted bias?

Why can't we call the game balanced when some maps set up a hard game for either side.

Basically, what I'm saying is, each map is different, at this point RPD is fairly killer sided and it provides a different game play experience at the tactical level, that's a fun thing.

Why is it a terrible thing that it should be as such(considering there are other maps that feature other biases)?

Because you don't see them reworking maps for survivor benefit. Where's the Midwich and Dead Dawg reworks? Also most games are soloq and duoq, killers acting like they have a 4man swf every game on comms is just really bad or has 4k'ed there way through camping, tunneling and slugging soloq into the high mmr brackets.

  • Scott Jund just put up video about these new extremely broken 3/4gen spawns too

  • @Trollinmon said:

The counter is OTR is not hope the survivors slam gens when they get off hook and tunnel them. If you get off hook and want to push gens instead of doing a reset then you are free game for the killer. You should expect the killer to chase you if they come back since you are injured and were doing a conspicuous action. The last part sounds like the killer putting a trap up and a survivor falling victim to it. I personally would call that getting outplayed.

Outplayed? yeah maybe by BHVR. What's the point of putting in band aid tunnel counter perks if the killer can just counter them. It's a loophole. Oh ######### they installed a security system, normal people we won't rob them anymore, dbd killers let's hack the security system.

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

It's about the order you do them in. Me and my swf always go for lower centre first after someone baits the killer into chase. It's the most dangerous gen because it's so central and visible but the most vital to get done early.

The problem is when survs spawn, It's always near one of the outlying gens. And more often than not people jump straight on the gen in front of them.

If you do the outside gens first on rpd, as far as killer is concerned a whole swathe of the map becomes dead space and they won't go there.

But if you get the 2 central gens done first then you split the map and killer has to haul ass to get between the gen clusters. Then you're laughing all the way to the exit gate.

SWF yeah thats the answer to everything lol.

    @FMG15 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/362101/rpd-3-gen-constant

Since the map shrunk in size a potential 3 gen is almost inevitable. So the goal as survivor on RPD should be to identify the 3-gen and tackle it ASAP.

It's easy to identify thus the killer identifies it also and camps with eruption

  • Why stop there Midwich and Dead Dawg are killer sided, nerf them, you know for balance. you nerf a survivor sided map nerf a killer sided map.

You clearly didn't read what I typed or need more clarification. Survivors that sit in the exit gate and just sit there waiting for you to force them out compared to a killer slugging to get a 4k which one is trying to win while the other is basically bragging about the win.

I know every type killer play is strategy to win even its borderline exploit (with BHVR failing to fix these sorts of things for 6 years). So I shall ask what kind of ez tricks can soloq survivors do to up there chances of escaping dramatically without even having to equip perks or addons? Remember slugging, camping and tunneling is basekit.

It's a convenient thing to hide behind.

But usage rates don't completely explain why they completely nuked Pop & Ruin. They could have made much more reasonable changes to Pop & Ruin and lowered their usage rates to reasonable levels. Lowering Pop to flat 20% (not 20% of current) and only adding the death deactivation (and not also destroying its regression) would have been those reasonable decisions.

It just makes too much sense to me that it was a business decision. Especially knowing BHVR.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3303266#Comment_3303266

If WoO is just a tool for new players then why do we see a high percentage of all players using it?

Most often I am seeing WoO played alongside Dead Hard and Resilience. These are not new players. These are players who want easy mode DbD who don't have to even have to think when they play the game. Drop glowing yellow thingy and move on to next glowing yellow thingy...

Bad killer main it seems. Solo and duo is majority of matches in dbd. Guess what you dont know when randoms are dropping pallets unless you're right there with them. As far as predropping again theyre going to lose their resources if in solo q unless everybody is on a seperate gen (highly unlikely in soloq) and if its a comp team you're going to lose anyway lol.

FORGOT TO ADD: Woo was buffed it used to be only 24m until you threw pallet or vaulted then 20 sec cooldown, once they buffed it no complaints everybody was happy still wasnt used that much more. It wasnt until they nerfed survivor and buffed killer basekit did a lot more people start using it. Dont have as much time with killers doing everything faster.

Clownie hit me once and I rammed him to get him to hit me and protect the person who unhooked me, and then I still had deadhard if I needed to take another hit. I would never have rammed him if I knew he could counter borrowed time.

"Wasting someones time just so you can greed a 4th kill is morally wrong"

I hope you hold this same stance when it comes to Survivors opening the exit gate and not leaving instantly.

Yep i do, i leave immediately UNLESS i think a survivor isnt safe and i can help OR if the killer did some scummy stuff then maybe a quick tbag. Unskilled survivors usually tbag at exit because they're not used to escaping, just like unskilled killers camp, tunnel slug for the 4k cause they need easier kills.

  • "And I'm saying it's not a significant hindrance. Otherwise people would have been complaining about it for months" People have been complaining about camping and tunnelling for years, so it's a significant hindrance then right? where's bhvr? lmao

Usually that killer is camping that survivor and willl tunnel off hook because can't take the L, git gud scrub.

  • @Brimp said:

The same update where we get base kit blood warden when every survivor is just waiting in the exit gate for longer than necessary.

It's common to see a killer (with 2 survivors left) immediately reslug a survivor who is helped up or will just camp the slug. I dont see survivors running back into the map when the killer shows up at the exit.

  • I played with the "free health state". Wasnt really that helpful. In a snowman you're slower and incapacitated. If you jumped in snowman mid chase you had to be lucky enough to complete the full animation of getting in or it wasnt a free health state. It would be basically equivalent now to letting the killer hit you as you stand still but you dont get injured and no speed bonus, why would you do that? you wouldn't in most scenarios.

  • Why do I have a feeling you're playing scummy vs soloq with your "weak" m1 killer? I mean you're allowed to, just like they're allowed to leave whenever they want.

By event mode I mean an entirely different mode that is specific to the event, remove aspects that could make it sweaty. Like a 10 minute hide and go seek where survivors need to hop in and out of as many snowmen as possible while killers need to pop them - be like whack a mole. Something goofy for players to just chill out.

Or killers using snowmen to camp more effectively

  • @Killing_Time said:

Ah yes survivor was "buffed" so much relative to killer last patch that Otz decided to "take the gloves off" because he was more frustrated than ever at the state of play. Remember this is a 9k hour player who is no longer playing "nice" due to recent game changes because if he does he will lose/have extremely frustrating games.

Overall lower tier players and mid tier players have a better experience with the 6.0 changes but the game is definitely worse for killer at the upper end of play (and got even worse by the 6.4 patch that nerfed Wesker/MM/Legion by proxy and by that time introduced a perk to finish generators in 40-50 seconds).

Dude this argument gets old. 10k hour players are not common, just because Otz is popular doesnt make him a typical killer nor his mmr. Most matches are not 10k players battling it out on comms vs the killer. Most are solo and duo q not on comms, if they are on comms they're not doing clock call outs like Hens team or something lol.

  • Sounds like killers are just getting lazy now. Recently killers had their entire basekit buffed while survivor was mostly nerfed. This was to shakeup the meta. Now killers tunnel and camp more than ever and still use at least one slowdown, usually more.

  • Legions strongest power is getting people to DC because he is so boring to play against.

FORGOT TO ADD: Try Pinhead against them and try to get an active chainhunt with all 4 bots lmao

  • @ElodieSimp said:

Problem is, the game. Survivors want to escape, bring the most potential to do gens. Killers want to kill to win, easiest way is to tunnel or camp.

They will never change the game. This is what it is. Humans have an uncanny ability to find the easiest path. You're seeing it for the most part.

I dont agree. After the update to shake up the meta, I see survivors using all sorts of things. Killers still using slowdown perks (usually multiple).

  • I dont think it matters that much. A "good killer" wont use lightborn or franklins. A "good killer" will just run the same boring meta crap on every killer over and over, namely gen slowdowns (you know like bhvr was trying to make less of a thing with the meta shakeup lol)

  • @Crowman said:

This is never going to happen, because will abuse the system to avoid playing against people playing strong killers.

There's a 4v1 survival horror game I also have many hours in that ALLOWS this with way less of player base. And like you said theres some who just block good "killers/survivors" but really it isnt a big deal. If some skilled killer thinks this is happening to them they just make a smurf.

Again this game im talking about has WAY LESS PEOPLE playing and it still isnt a big deal blocking people to never get them again. Worst thing that happens is known offenders get made fun of for blocking too many people (and make themselves suffer with bad matchmaking times)

EDIT: Thought of more things. DBD also gets WAY MORE new players everyday, so these skilled killers will never have bad matchmaking times because of survivors blocking too many killers or vise versa (killers blocking known SWFs).

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/352932/decisive-strike-should-work-twice

Yeah because there are so few second chances these days for suvivor... free bt and possibly unb, insta heal not nerfed/hemostatic, DH, but sure why not another chance to be the protagonist and never loose a chase?

Lol entitled killer main on entitled killer biased forum. DH was nerfed, they buffed the f out of killer previous update, cry more. Killers have plenty of 2nd chance perks and addons, anything thats instadown is a 2nd chance perk for killer. There's nothing as equivalently strong for soloq/duoq survivor (most matches in dbd) as camping and tunneling. Try bot mode guy.

  • I think then it would be viable. As it stands (at least on paper anyway) it's awful, helps the killer more than survivors. Could be a little helpful in 3gen situations but of course those are rare and can be prevented usually.

I played a handful of matches last night, and I see what they're talking about. The bots aren't really teabagging, the AI is just deciding between whether to crouch and hide or run away (at least to me). Another bot tried to blind me with a flashlight while carrying another survivor, but other than that I haven't experienced any clicking. I have to assume it's the AI deciding whether to use the flashlight or not.

But it's funny, honestly, and knowing there's no malicious and toxic intent makes it so much better than it has any right to be. I really hope they don't fix it, because it allows for so much accidental joy and then the satisfying feeling of effortless curbstomping them on top of it all actually makes me want to play more games.

Yeah they use flashlights if they find them, its funny & adorable because they're so bad USUALLY. They have got me a few times while kicking a pallet ngl lmao

1 2 3 4 … 8
