  • I'm on board with this. I'm sooooo tired of the match making threads.

  • As Survivor: People who get downed super fast. Please, learn to use pallets and windows to your advantage.

As Killer: People who are overly stealthy. I would like to play the game please.

  • Well didn't the Killer technically cause us to lose?

  • Well that's weird because I thought spirit was literally invisible while phasing.

Neither does Ghostface if he never stalks, so what's the big difference?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1290068#Comment_1290068

So should stealth killers like Wraith and Ghostface be nerfed because you need Spine Chill too see them coming?

You don't need Spine Chill to see them coming.

  • I think the best solution to the SWF 'problem' is to warn killers in the lobby that they are going against a SWF, and award a post-game bp bonus for facing a SWF.

You shouldn't be punished for playing with friends because not all SWF's are sweaty and toxic, but I see no issue in awarding the Killer for facing a SWF.

  • This must have taken ages to do. Mad respect for the effort 👍️

  • This has been an issue for so long now. Changes need to happen ASAP.

I went into a match, all 4 popped at once, and the names had a theme, and all of them had unique outfits. I knew something was off, and I had my finger on the cancel button to dodge.

You know... I said to myself, "Tiersis, all the people in the forum just tell you that you can get good if you just learn to play against these teams. I mean, I'm a rank 11 killer! Thats not bad for only a week or so back in the game!"

Well, I shoulda lubed up before stepping that that match.

All 4 escaped, it was like playing against an AI that moved all 4 characters in unison in the optimal path to break every one of my traps, find all the totems. Heck, 2 gens popped in unison before I even got into my first chase. Of course there was the SWF mating dance of teabagging and flashlight clicking that accompanied it, and the ritualistic standing in the exit gates until the last second to prolong my misery.

Well, I kitted up again. Ebony Mori, addons that hid my traps and made them insta down, my best perk loadout, the whole 9.

Lobby pops, and this time, I just decided I was gonna do every single thing that I know survivors hate. I camped, they rushed. They unhooked, I tunneled. Got through Borrowed time, and a DS to the face, maintained my tunnel, Mori!

2 of the folks I had slugged of course had unbreakable and got back up. Like they do. Managed to hunt two more down and Mori them, while another was on the Hook. I think, I GET A 4K, yay!

But no, just to take a big giant dump on my face one last time, he Kobes AND GETS HATCH.

This is why we need Moris folks, because if we didn't have some way to take out the rage on these SWF A-holes I don't think I'd have the mental stability to prevent myself from actually becoming a serial killer.

If you need a break, then take one. Don't bring out your frustration on the next group of survivors. Please.

  • I have been bamboozled a couple of times due to my own lack of awareness.

Why would you automatically assume he knows for sure or isnt just putting out misinfo?

Because Scott Jund knew who the past killers were before they were revealed.

  • Didn't Scott Jund already confirm the new killer isn't Candyman?

  • I don't know how I feel about making Feral Frenzy lethal again... seems kinda wrong because there is nothing a survivor can do to avoid a Feral Frenzy stab.

  • Not a big fan of guessing games. That's why I don't enjoy going against Spirit :))))))

    Thanks for the feedback.

I have something to ask you: why don't you feel like legion is a very stale killer with no room for big plays or interactive gameplay for both sides?

What makes a match as legion/against legion different from other killers?

Legion's gameplay isn't stale for me because I like the idea of creating pressure through attacking multiple people in a short duration, and Legion doesn't have big play potential but that's okay. Wraith, for example, has almost no big play potential. His power is just him going invisible and nullifying his TR. People can still find Wraith fun to play even though his power has no big play potential. For the interactive gameplay part, I'd argue that many other killers also lack this. Spirit is literally just a guessing game, but people seem to think shes perfectly fine.

Legion has his weaknesses like any other killer. As a survivor you need to avoid grouping up to deny chain stabs. As Legion you need to force the survivors to group so you can create pressure via mending/healing. These are some things that both sides need to keep in mind while playing as/against Legion that differentiate them from other killers.

  • I feel like a rework of Legion's power is unnecessary. Legion's kit is fine as it is, and it only needs number tweaks and QoL changes.

    It's a cool concept though.

  • You have not seen what I have seen while playing soloq.

If you saw those things I bet you wouldn't have any empathy towards others.

IMO you shouldn't be able to bring a single perk to fully counter a killer's power.

IMO I agree, but what perk are you talking about and what killer?

  • IMO you shouldn't need a perk to fix a major issue with her power.

  • Babysitter.

Babysitter had potential to be an alternative to BT, but of course they gotta give it ridiculously low numbers.

  • Killer - Surge and Blood Echo.

Survivor - Babysitter, Red Herring, Pharmacy, Ace In The Hole, Any Means Necessary, Better Together, Technician, Wake Up, Flip-Flop.

I stopped running meta months ago. I now find games much more enjoyable.

  • Just don't even try.

You are going to go down unless the Spirit majorly screws up.

  • Babysitter - Increase the no scratch marks or blood trail time to 20 seconds.

8 seconds is so extremely short that it is basically impossible to make any sort of value out of it.

  • @Nurgling7 said:

Accept that he is a strong killer and adapt to his playstyle?

Honestly, the claims that he is boring are bullshit.

"Oh, all he does is spam snares."

I'm sorry that somehow messes up your brilliant, intuitive plan to juke him... Oh wait, no, you were just going to run in damn circles around the pallet. Just like the rest of the killer roster.

Give me a break. Who is the boring player, really?

Pallet campers are more fun to you???

  • Personally, I would like the dream world to be more threatening. Before he was reworked, waking up felt NECESSARY to progress the game and was a big threat if not handled immediately. Now waking up is optional against A DREAM DEMON.

  • The hatch is necessary to have in the game, but there are some times where it just feels like a cheesy escape method.

Like using a key to get the entire team out at the same time in the middle of a chase.

Other than that, I feel that the hatch is usually fair.

  • For dailies and only on death hook.

I don't enjoy playing against mori's so I try to make it as fair as possible when I do use a mori.

  • I find Surge to be a decent alternative to pop. Saves you the time of having to kick gens yourself, and the +8% regression is just a bonus.

  • I don't find it an issue. Mostly because the Killers that do use NOED are the ones I don't struggle to avoid getting hit by.

So... should I still do my long version, or...?

I'll look forward to it if you choose to.

Any discussion about these devstreams, I'm interested in.

  • Survivors just need more ways to earn bps in general.

Like for example, +1k Obj points for being chased while a gen pops. +1.5k Altruism for being chased while a fellow survivor rescues a hooked survivor. +2.5k Survival for being hooked twice in a row.

Stuff like this would be nice because Survivors can't max out all their categorys at the same time unlike Killers.

Also, ignore that elvangulley guy. I'm pretty sure hes just trolling you at this point.

  • I don't really see the problem with gen speeds. Especially now that chases are ending faster without the god windows.

    in Gens Comment by BattleCast
  • -Nurse being able to ignore 90% of chase mechanics isn't healthy for the game. Not saying she's op I just think ignoring chase mechanics isn't good for the health of the game. (but I also don't want her to be like all the other Killers so really just a lose-lose situation here)

-Legion and Clown aren't as bad as people say. They definitely need changes though.

-PGTW is busted for the amount of regression it can give. +1 gen every 4 hooks. Absolutely ridiculous.

-SWF is fine and should not be punished in a casual game.

-Shattered Bloodline was the worst DLC. Spirit alone would be enough to make this the worst DLC, and Yamaoka Estate just makes it even worse.

-New Hex: Ruin is actually stronger now on certain Killers.

-The co-op gen repair nerf was unnecessary. Gen times are perfectly fine.

-Surge is a top tier gen slow-down perk.

  • I would use the blood point offerings... if they actually gave a decent amount of blood points.

It's honestly LAUGHABLE that you could actually LOSE more blood points than you actually earn from the bp offerings.

  • Yea, matchmaking is broken because there is a lack of Killers. Hopefully cross-play will fix this issue though.

I don't understand the hatred towards all red rank players though. Not all red ranks are toxic.

  • It's a tie between Shelter Woods and Rotten Fields.

A big dead tree and corn... wow sooo exciting. /s

  • If it is Pyramid Head, then I actually wont be disappointed that we got a licensed chapter.

Pyramid Head is actually terrifying compared to some random guy with a hook and bees.

Whatever it is though, I'm sure it will be an absolute banger.

How do you know if someone is a baby Dwight? Is it to do with their cosmetics, or the way they're playing, or do you treat all Dwights equally?

Normally baby Dwights wear the basic clothing that comes for free with the character, but it can also be how they play. Baby dwight's will run in a straight line in a chase or try to hide in lockers in plain sight. Baby Dwights tend play as you would expect a completely new player would play (absolutely terrified of the Killer).

I don't treat all Dwights equally. Once a Dwight has proven to me that they understand basic game knowledge, then I continue it as a normal game. They won't get any special treatment or a free hatch escape.

  • Legion: Blood Echo, Surge, BBQ, Thanatophobia/Stridor/M&A

Blood Echo allows you to ignore exhaustion perks and end chases faster which is always a good thing for Legion. The hemorrhage effect doesn't really matter but there are niche scenarios where it can actually help. It also punishes the injured and injuring people is Legion's strong suit.

Surge is an AMAZING perk and even better on a Killer like Legion. Legion only gets downs with M1's so the drawback of needing a basic attack is nonexistent for him. Surge allows the Legion to regress gens without needing to spend the time traveling to them and kicking them. Basically, it allows you to stay in the fight with zero down time, and keep up the pressure. Surge is honestly sooooo underrated.

BBQ is self-explanatory. It's an amazing tracking perk that encourages and rewards leaving the hook. Also, who doesn't want more bps?

Thanatophobia is my choice for game slowdown as Legion. You could also run Ruin, but it's really risky and I like the consistency of Thanatophobia. I have also been recently trying out other things instead of Thana and I have found Stridor and M&A to also be good choices.

  • I think this is pretty obvious, but I expect all LF's to camp.

Nea's with bright clothing intimidate me as Killer because I have been ran around for a while by some of them. They also tend to be toxic.

I expect blendette's to be crouching behind a rock at the corner of the map 95% of the time. Blendies are not reliable teammates from my experience.

Quentin mains tend to be the nicest of all survivors, and make every game a gg. Not sure exactly why though.

If I see a baby dwight I can't bear to see them die by an evil spider monster. Something so cute and pure doesn't deserve to be killed and sacrificed.

  • Fun: Legion, Clown, Pig. They aren't the strongest, but damn are they a blast.

Boring: Spirit. So many issues with this Killer I don't even want to get started.

  • I didn't notice much of a difference other than the god loop changes. Which was the only thing that I struggled with as Killer. I still 4k regularly with Legion. The only time I don't 4k is when I fail to pressure the Survivors, and that is completely my fault.

The deadzones NEED to be addressed though. I feel bad downing a Survivor because they got unlucky and had nothing to work with.

  • The solid stuff behind is nice and all but what about the solid stuff in front. ;)

  • He isn't as bad as most killer mains will say on the forums. I main Legion and I consistently 4k at rank 1 even against good survivors.

People see his power is non-lethal and they immediately shrug him off as garbage but forget that he's a short killer that moves at normal speed. This allows for some massive mind-game potential where it otherwise wouldn't work because of the Killers height. Couple this with a free first hit and you will be downing people really fast (at least from my experience). Basically, to be good with Legion, you need to be good at mind-games. It's that second hit that counts the most.

He only needs a few changes and he would easily be a mid-tier killer. (im just going to copy-paste what I wrote in another thread)

    • Increased Feral Frenzy movement speed. It's actually insane how Survivors can OUT RUN YOU.
    • Decreased fatigue duration from 4 second to 3. Cold Dirt, Joey's Mix tape, and Julie's Mix tape changed to do something else.
    • Scratch marks in Feral Frenzy.
    • Franks Mix tape & Stab Wounds Study changed.
    • Deep Wounds timer reduced to something like 15 seconds. So Survivors feel more pressured to mend.
    • Reduced punishment for missed Feral Frenzy attacks. Jeez, If I had a dime every time I missed a Feral Frenzy attack due to "aim dressing".
    • Give The Legion collision while vaulting.
    • Pin add-ons need to apply to ALL Feral Frenzy attacks.
    • Feral Frenzy needs to recharge at the beginning of fatigue instead of after.
    • Friendship Bracelet, Never-sleep Pills, and Susie's Mix tape changed to do something more useful.
    • Generator auras need to not disappear after the first Feral Frenzy attack. This would help out Fuming Mix tape.

The list does seems like a lot, but most of it is just QoL.

However, I do agree that Legion doesn't get rewarded enough for clever usage of his power.

  • I prefer Surge instead of Ruin because it can't be cleansed away. Surge is also a lot of fun :)

I just really hate totem perks because they can be extremely risky. Ruin isn't a bad choice though. I also find Blood Echo to be extremely good on Legion.

Most Survivors panic when they lose their Dead Hard or Sprint Burst.

  • Legion is in a pretty good spot right now. He is SOOOO close to being a good killer. There are only a few things they need to change.

    • Increased Feral Frenzy movement speed. It's actually insane how Survivors can OUT RUN YOU.

Actually this list is really long, lmao.

  • His power isn't unique to him at all.

    Traps? Hag,Trapper, Clown.

    Teleportation? Demo, Nurse, Hag.

    Slow-down? Pig, Legion, Doc.

Freddy just feels like a mix match of all the killers tbh. Not to mention he has the same problem that Clown has. Chases are boring because you just have to pallet camp otherwise he can just snare spam you. I like how Freddy is strong now, but hes just SO BORING to play as and against.
