You’re comparing perks like Unbreakable, Deliverance, Adrenaline and Decisive Strike with Soul Guard? :\

i mean, where is the difference? Unbreakable and Soulguard works in the same case scenario where soulguard is actually better since you have a borrowed time added as effect. Also what i meant was: they are all perks that needs a certain situation to apply so yes im comparing them

  • @projecteulogy said:

I don't like leaving a Hex up for any reason regardless of what perk it is. As a solo player, leaving a hex up is a really bad idea. The only time i've seen Soul Guard be "OP" is with a full SWF intentionally playing a certain way.

You counter Soul Guard by not slugging and hooking survivors. I can't say I've ever had a huge problem with second chance perks unless it was end game and i was dumb enough to hook a survivor by a gate.

Same as i did, i never had any problem with it, but still why not putting a limit to it? It's situational ok, but yet, isnt unbreakable situational? Isn't deliverance situational? Isnt adrenaline situational? and decisive? They are all situationals, but they are all a one time use perk with no side effects apart of their main one, then limiting soulgard too should be a thing

  • @GoshJosh said:

    Have you tried not slugging?

As i said, i never had any problems with soulgard and i don't even use hex perks :) So try to keep your toxicness on your pockets thanks

  • like i dont even play it and i never had problems against it, but it's not as it should be, but keep your soulgard who cares i don't even play hex perks as killer

Unbreakable does increase self recovery time.

Soulgard's main effect is really the self BT when picked up off the ground which is fairly underwhelming unless you are capable of picking yourself up which is often why you see people bring both soulguard and unbreakable.

The unbreakable effect while affected by a hex is only good if the killer runs a hex and the hex stays up. It's not something to rely on.

But still why not putting a limit? Why should it be unlimited? And i know unbreakable does increase self recovery YET you can only get up from dying state ONCE! So it's: unbreakable -> 2 effects limited just once per game; Soulgard -> 2 effects unlimited use :\

Personally I wouldnt be against nerfing survivors first, since I almost always play the bottom tier killers, or mid tier killers.

The only reason I think nerfing killers first is the proper idea is, while its difficult, most of the time on the less strong killers you can get decent results vs good survivors (swf shouldnt be a baseline) and often enough 4k. But unless you are in a swf then playing vs a good spirit/nurse is just gg. At least 3 of you are gonna die. So if they bring those down, then for a while (unless they do all the changes at once( which with BHVRs track record with bugs would be a nightmare) its just gonna be as annoying as it is now. But then there wouldnt be any reason not to bring survivors power down a notch. And maybe finally we can all have some fun against and as most killers.

Mate trust me when i say that it's not like this... killer has a way worse and harsh game then survivors has PLUS the emblem system is completely broken for survivors and completely wasted for killers :\ You have to sweat your az off SO much for a pip and you always end up black pipping and when you slug the third for the forth is ONLY because you know that otherwise you would end up black pippin. Killer is permanently trying to read 4 minds when survivors only have to read one and in the SWF scenario is an abomination so i would seriously nerf survivors first since they would really just change their pace from a ride on the park to at least trying and then i would think about fixing things on killers and if i may the only thing that i think that are actually abusable killer side are moris, but you still get punished for that from the emblem system so i don't really see what else, if you have anything in mind plis give me some i would really appreciate new incomes

  • I really bet that the same people that believes that soulgard is balanced, thinks that billy is op and THATS what you've got my boys, billy nerf when he was perfectly balanced GJ

  • So people seriously believe that Soulgard is actually balanced? Are we joking? XD

I don’t get why this thread is just about Mr. YeeHaw. Aren’t a lot of killers ‘too good’ in solo lobbies? I feel like Ghostface, M&A Miguel etc can easily tear through a lot of solo lobbies because of their element of surprise. It doesn’t mean they have to be changed. I’ve gone against a lot of the killers mentioned above when I’m playing by myself and they can be easy to avoid. Spine Chill can pretty much take away all of their power and I feel like almost every lobby I get now has AT LEAST 2 survivors running it.

No because they are all normal M1 killers with no uncounterable ranged attacks. The only way they become op in solo Q is by playing lame and using noed/mori and thats it.

No Freddy was even more insane with the old ruin since he had that and his own slow down build. The games would never end. If you consider nurse to be A- then I fear you have never played a good nurse. Unless you are in a 4man swf there is no hope. Same, but to a lesser degree goes spirit. In regards to Billy, I underestimated how hard they were gonna hit him (one of the reasons I asked people to wait for ptb, was to know how and what we should complain about) and he is at best B tier on the ptb.

In regard to the gens being done too fast. I dont disagree but if they nerf the gens or add more necessary objectives for survivors then, yes vs most killers its gonna be an ok change, but vs those top 5 (as they are right now) then its gonna be a slaughter.

I played against good nurse and i NEVER feared any of them. Even tho the game was easily won or easily lost i never felt like the game was no-fun or non-challenging instead for me it was the complete opposite. She has normal TR, very long charge on his blinks and very long fatigue after blinking or hitting plus 100% speed. It's the perfect mindgame character that i like to play against. But DS is simply the opposite. You have no fun playing against him and you have no challenge. He comes with no TR -> first hit -> pointblank shot -> down. 10 second chase. Pile this with Pop, M&A and STBFL and you are seriously impossible to play against.

  • @Entity_Lich94 said:

As someone who always plays solo when playing survivor, I've personally never had a problem with deathslinger.

While yes his terror radius is low, he's one of the tallest killers and very easy to see from a distance, with the exception of indoor maps. I dont really see how this makes it much different from Myers or ghostface. Adding a humming, a windup or cool down would solidify him being a bad version of huntress.

He gets beaten easily if a survivor keeps out of his LOS as much as possible keeps gaining as much distance as they can and if they prematurely throw a pallet down. He's very good at injuring survivors, downing them he will struggle against survivors who are observant to him.

If you get put with potatoes then any killer can look amazing, it's just knowing how to waste as much time as possible for the killer in chase regardless of wether you escape them or get downed and taking their strengths and weaknesses into account, which deathslinger has many of them

With the difference that myers and ghostface have no long-range quickscop mechanic to grab you in after the first easy no tr hit xD

  • @Reaver_Raziel said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1394489#Comment_1394489

I think he is fine where he is. Making him 115% would make him insane. I think its more like the upper tier killer need to be toned down a notch, so we can get proper nerfs to survivors. A thing that will never happen unless killers get nerfed first. Most killers can still function fairly well if not outright great. But The top 5 killers just outright destroy most survivors. The best of the best survivors arent even statistically relevant. Those are outliers, and beyond sweaty 4man SWF its gonna happen once or twice in 100 games or so.

But if killers get good with those top 5, some being easier than others to learn, most survivors are gonna get stomped. Spirit, Freddy, Nurse, and to a lesser degree, Billy and Oni. If killers know how to play those and try to win. Then they will win a lot more than they will lose.

it's the opposite. You have to nerf survivors first and then killers xD killers have to make 12 hooks, hit you twice and bring you to the hook (and i'm skipping the hide & seek part) Survivor only has to rush 5 gens and open a door with an entire map of favourable loops and millions of pallets to use and abuse since there is no real slow vault or entity block on it

What do you mean with "who the op is" ? o.O

  • Unbreakable is limited to once per game and it only does THAT. How can you say that soulgard is balanced by being unlimited unbreakeble + borrowed time xD It makes NO sense xD

  • @MiniPisa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1443544#Comment_1443544

Yeah but the definition of unlimited means it has no limit LOL

Yes, you could potentially have unbreakable for the entire match, but that not only means you'd need to be an swf (because randoms will break whatever the hex is) but you'd potentially be keeping something like Hex: Ruin or Devour Hope up just so you can get up by yourself and you might not even get slugged the whole game. Soul guard is strong but completely balanced.

Unlimited unbreakeble :( + borrowed tho

  • @MiniPisa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1443523#Comment_1443523

It's not technically unlimited when it's limit is a hex totem being broken. It's an extremely situational perk and not worth bringing for the unbreakable part of it if you're not a full swf

Technically doesn't mean it isn't unlimited :'D If the totem is up, you have unlimited unbreakeble

  • So you don't think that actually putting a limit on it should be a thing. i mean unlimited unbreakeble :\ plus the borrowed time lol

Yeah, it may be bugged for some. I remember a recent game where I spawned in the center of a double-T loop (Think it was a Coldwind Farm variant) and there was a lit totem between two barrels that I was literally 5 feet away from. Of course the Killer came immediately to check on it, but I could start on it immediately (PS4).

I hope the fix this stuff broh... i feel so bad as surv to cleanse a totem at start, but i cannot ignore it as well :\

  • @SkeletalElite said:

Currently this would never trigger on totems unless you mean within X distance because there is a check when choosing survivor spawn locations that checks if their is a totem within line of sight and if there is it chooses a different location. If that's not happening then it's bugged

then it's a bug, cause i literally spawn in front of lit totems... same as when i see 2 gens literally spawning one at 5 yard to another... dunno if you ever saw 2 gens in the myers map, inside a house, you can have both one near the stairs and one near the window together xD but i think they maybe fixed that, so i hope they will do the same with totems... with the difference that totems has like 20 spawns? for each map, so it's very tedious to fix them all...

  • @seki23 said:

deathslinger is unfun to go agaisnt yes, but he is not "very powerfull", he lacks in map pressure reason why he is getting demolished against rushing SWF, also dead hard gets him good.

And this is why i clearly wrote in the title "too strong for solo q". Saying that he is weak against SWF is like saying nothing at all. Every killer is weak against SWF, it's just SWF that is trash atm. Dead hard is not a thing since there are VPN killers that just steal your dead hard consistently until the next latency update apparently

  • @CrowFoxy said:

So you want a mostly mid tier killer to get nerfed?

i want a "mostly mid tier killer" to be more balanced since it is clearly too strong in chases. It could be easier to get chased, but harder in other terms. They could actually buff something else. Things are not just black or whites, there are actually greys in the middle. Just you have to look for them

Part of being smart is being able to understand everything even tho you can't read it. It's named guess and you can really guess what i said from what i wrote, even tho it's literally written in english. But, this doesn't happen if you don't want to understand it at all :)

I’m utterly tired of hearing “BT/DS/Adrenaline wahhhh” that has to come from 6-12 mo of playtime killers. I can’t fathom someone with experience griping about those perks still. And if you think I’m a survivor main, you’re 100% incorrect

These are perks needed to make this game healthy... I never get in the fog without DS, it's just as it is. There are too many killers that are frustrated and tunnel or they just use it as a "tactic". Both ways DS is needed, same as borrowed. But i do believe that adrenaline becomes lame when there are SWF abusing it to gen rush when wounded. Also in general, i do believe that the problem is abusing this perks like hoobombing with Borrowed, gen rushing when wounded etc..

Just a reminder that a Deathslinger on PC is far more deadly than on console. Some of these comments are probably from console players that have not considered this.

Wait, i didn't consider that either! Not because i didn't know about the platform players, but because i didn't know about the platform players actually posting here too! i thought it was just ps players here :O

  • @Crowman said:

Deathslinger will still fail against solos who do gens. He has strong chase, but he still has to take time to reel survivors in for the hit and reload after every shot which takes up time. On top of that he's 110 movement and can't really pressure the map.

And we all agree with you, but with the non existent TR and the quickscop, he kinda just hops on gens and insta downs you and all the surroundings since he always run with STBFL so i honestly believe that gettin rid of quick scop could actually be a thing already

  • Its english and there's written everything needed to explain what i mean. If you don't get it, it's not my problem :)

    Killer beats solo queue

    Nothing happens to solo queue

    See the problem?

It doesn't really matter what killer it is, 9/10 times killer will destroy a lobby full of solo queue players.

    Feels balancing man.

Not true, because you could always just fix the SWF scenario, instead of changing the entire survivor thing. And if people starts crying about these changes, they are just revealing their true identities: Unskilled kiddos that gets their strenght from the group and abusing weaknesses at their advantage. And i'd honestly prefer lose such players to get better ones who actually play this game for actual fun and challenge instead of just bothering the others.

If you are challenging yourself you cant complain when it gets too hard because you put yourself in that situation. Also complaining about a low tier when you are the only person to blame for your own bad time. Ga m er momento

No, because if you say that i need something to play good against a killer for me it's equal as saying that you need to break something to get rid of anger and i have to do the same, same mentality. If i see something that it's not working with my method, at first i try various things that could fit myself, but when i see that my methods doesn't work and the only answer is: Play lamer, then i understand that something is wrong and i start trying to change things to be more challenging instead of just being lame. Same as i don't play mori or noed as killer because again it's just the way of playing lame of the game. you may win games, but it's not because you are good, it's just because you are actually subtracting parts of the game that otherwise you should face, same as insta kill addons like the huntress or clown etc.

If no gens get done against a 110% speed killer with no mobility, then that's your team's fault, not the killer's.

Indeed, but i said that is too strong chase wise. It's not a m1 killer like clown, he can quickscop you from the far and thats the real point of the discussion

I've never really cared much for BP but having this kind of reward for such a selfless act would be really good. Was not worth. Reminds me not to care about strangers too much lol

This is the Same thing that always happens to me and i always say "NEVER AGAIN" but the next game i start over the same... Altruism is a BEACH! (The other word! :P)

As long as your team holds M1 and they aren't overly altruistic against a 8 STBFL stacks Deathslinger, then you should still be able to escape against him in solo.

Yeah Spirit is a problem zone for me, because it feels like nothing but a guessing game, but I love a good Nurse. When you die to Nurse, you know it's just because she's a damn good Nurse! Takes a lot of practice that one.

Perhaps that's something you could do though. Post some videos and ask for advice about what you're doing wrong. You could try some of the Twitch streamer's Discord servers. People are usually happy to give pointers.

I follow True, and i seriously think that i'm just bad against ds :'D you know, my weak spot, so i'll just accept the loss i guess..

  • @cheetocultleader said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1407177#Comment_1407177

Oh no, I agree its subjective. For instance, Ghost Face has made me jump out of my seat more times than I care to admit, lol. Who we're good or bad against depends on our skills. That's why I gave my advice on how I handle him, because to me he seems pretty simple. I'd have to argue about how many people I see lose to him though. It's not a small amount but I'd say he probably averages 2 kills.

Tbh I dread when I go to learn him. I might actually be good at him because I can handle him so well, but I think it's just because he's mid-tier.

i'm gonna be spit for what i'm saying but i love playing against nurse and spirit.. and i'm not afraid or have any problem with any killer but with ds.. This doesn't mean i NEVER die, it's the opposite, i die very often BUT that's because i'm bad, not because the killer is too strong. I know where my mistakes are and i'm trying to work on them, but with ds i really don't feel the same... like if i had a video of me playing any killer vs me playing ds, you'd really see the difference. Like i tried every tip people gave me, but it always end up the same: I try to wiggle> get hit> i waste a pallet get brute forced and get downed... This is why i believe it's not entirely my fault, but it comes a little bit from him too

Not exactly because if the killer closes the hatch, the gates are powered

  • @cheetocultleader said:

I'm just gonna be short & sweet: No. I play solo a lot at rank 1, & Deathslinger is one of the few killers I don't really fear. Weaving is a great tactic against him. Find objects to put between him, his shot, and yourself. Any skill that gives a burst of movement to put distance between you really puts the sting on him.

You may have no problems, that doesn't mean everybody hasn't. i get your point, but it's really situational and 75% times in its favour.

  • @bjorksnas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/166598/deathslinger-too-good-for-solo-q-players

just use spine chill. All killers have a 36 meter terror radius and you can vault a little faster most of the time

i don't like perks that play for you. This game is meant to be challenging and it should challenge your senses too, like sight and sounds and nerves etc. Perks like spine chill breaks this challenge completely and makes the game pointless to me. I don't wanna win the game or survive or whatever, i want a challenge. Something that peraphs i can't have if he has that low TR in certain maps, plus with the quickscop there is no real challenge in dodging since he just point-shoots you everytime, and vacuuming pallets is really the worst way to play against a killer and since this is the core of the surv tactic to "counter him" i really don't like it. I repeat, i don't care about winning or surviving, i want CHALLENGE. This is why i play solo Q instead of SWF.

And no, i'm not gonna play sprint burst, because it's the most pusy of the exhaustion perks. I'm a dead-hard player, since it is the only exhaustion perk that gives you a challenge in playing it (apart for head-on, but that's too situational and in certain maps you don't really have lockers where you want them and that makes it non-viable for me) But since atm it's broken due to latency stuff, i'm pretty much suffering a lot ngl.

the problem is that ANY solution that addresses Survive-With-Comms is also going to negatively affect non-comm SWF players; the challenge is to find a solution that helps the most with comms cheating while having the least negative impact on non-comm SWF.

Adjusting gen speed and map sizes would not fix Survive-With-Comms, and would just unilaterally hurt ALL survivors, especially solo.

    Yep

  • Why would you have your profile private?? What do you have to hide?? I mean, if you work for the NASA and you have very important Secret informations, be my guest, but otherwise??? XD I mean, are you jealous of your achievements? i don't know, your profile is meant to show everyone who you are and what you do/did, why hiding? You clearly don't have a good reason, but for being stupid

  • @luvcraft said:

here you go devs, the easiest solution to the SWF comms problem:

If 3 or all 4 players are SWF, the following is added to the loading tips before the match:

"Use of voice chat to coordinate with other survivors is discouraged, because it can break the balance of the game. If you abuse it, the killer has our permission to watch your stream during the match. You've been warned."

    😀

It would really make people hungry, i would LOVE to see it happen xD

  • @luvcraft said:

I'm probably gonna get a lot of flack for this, but one mitigation to comms-trolling SWF players is stream sniping. If they're comms trolls, then at least one of them is probably streaming the game, and if you're lucky he has his twitch handle in his player name.

I did this once when I was getting obliterated by a comms-SWF team, and was down two gens with zero hooks and had just been bodyblock-flashlight-sab comboed on the way to my first hook; one of the players had his twitch handle in his player name, and I opened his stream on a second monitor. Sure enough, all 4 players were on comms, which I could hear through the stream. After that, I had as much meta-information as the survivors did, and surprisingly, we ALL had FUN! I could hear and head off their plans, and I could see where one of them was, but I still had the normal challenges of chasing them around, and best of all I got to hear their laughs and happy surprise in real-time when I could outflank them and suddenly pop out when they thought I was somewhere else. None of them cried foul, or realized I was stream sniping even when I would pull someone out of a locker where I normally couldn't possibly know they'd be hiding. And from the sound of it, they had a great time actually being challenged for once rather than their usual boring experience of steamrolling some poor slob who was oblivious to their communications.

All that said, I still felt icky doing it, and haven't done it since, because it felt like cheating even though I was doing it specifically to counteract the cheating of the survivors using voice chat, and otherwise I would've had yet another miserable comms-SWF time.

Also, while DBD explicitly says that stream sniping is NOT prohibited, twitch DOES prohibit it, although I'm not clear on if twitch actually enforces that for all games, or just for games that also prohibit it.

I just don't like to play this lame things... I mean, i know you've done this just to counter the swf, but i seriously prefer both size not playing lame then just playing lame both of us... It just subtract the fun from the game :\ all becomes pointless... I just prefer trying and then losing or black pippin at best then just play lame, you seriously win more by opening the door b4 them instead of doing anything else. You subtract fun from them cause if you don't play their game they can't have fun and thats it
