We really have to see how they go about filtering it. If the "go next" measures only target ppl who do this within the first 4 minutes or something... I don't think you'd get caught in that if you want out because 1 person killed themselves and another DCed.

Yeah, I mean, ideally the Survivors get a chance when someone decides to suicide on Hook or DC (a Bot does not count, they are useless). Because most of the time the person giving up is not in a team with the rest. But I think that this is too difficult to implement, because it should not be a disadvantage for the Killer if someone suicides on Hook.

So I think the easier solution would be to allow players who are still in the game to leave without Penalty. They get their BPs they earned until this point and get replaced with Bots. And whoever wants to stay there (e.g. Dailies, Challenges, Achievements could be a reason) can stay there.

But I dont really have fun in a game on either side if there is an early DC or Hook Suicide. It is either unwinnable as Survivor or not really a Challenge as Killer.

I mean sure, but what do you expect? A complete upheaval of the entire game in a single patch? Just one hail mary huge ass sweep of the entire games balance? How are you meant to assess the impact of anything?

This change addresses one problem, the problem of people instant giving up and ruining any chance a team might have had… once you've fixed that and removed that from the equation you can make a more honest assessment of the genuine state of the game.

Nurse is a unique problem on her own, to complain about "you're not addressing the issues of why people quit" as a defence for saying "this change is bad" is bad faith man. Addressing this problem has to be interactive.

I've played against a Nurse who slapped me down in 10s flat and made me look like an absolute putz in the first chase, and every chase I had woth them after... yet I've seen a player absolutely dance with them for a solid minute at a time in the same game. If I just gave up because she owned me at every turn, through something that is clearly an issue with me, that inflates her kill rate and makes it harder to assess her impact on ten game.

The same way Skull Merchant had an insanely infrared killrate despite being completely mediocre. You can't make a genuine assessment of a killer if people keep refusing to play the moment things don't go their way.

to complain about "you're not addressing the issues of why people quit" as a defence for saying "this change is bad" is bad faith man

Which I am not even doing, I said quite the opposite, lol.

And nah, some acknowledgement that there are frustrating things in the game and that there will be work done would be nice. All we currently got was a few killer-sided changes. Heck, even the Anti-Slugging change is killer-sided, despite Survivors suffering from it. (The one in Phase 1, no idea what they are doing in Phase 2)

And while some things will be tackled eventually, it takes far too long. E.g. how long did it take for the Devs to nerf Alchemist Ring? The Add On was a problem from Day 1 and it took them YEARS. And quite a bunch of Survivors will probably have gone next due to a Blight bringing Alchemist Ring. Which could have been prevented if they would pay a bit more attention.

And my last point still stands - why should people be forced to play out games when they are already non-games from the start? I had a game against a Nurse a few days ago, one Hook Suicide and one DC pretty early in the game. Why should I have to stay in that game with the other Survivor, even if it is clear that we will not win and dont even have a chance of winning? Why do I have to play out a game as Killer when Survivors gave up or DCed, despite the game being not a Challenge anymore and therefore not fun at all?

While I think it is fine to punish players who DC or give up first, the other players in the match should at least have the option to leave without Penalty at this point. Just give them their BPs and thats it. This would at least remove the point where players are forced to play out non-games.

  • I would not mind seeing Loadouts in the Lobby. While I think that some Perks should not be used, I would not dodge a Lobby. Because most of the time it is not the fault of the Perk, but the person using it. E.g. I dont think that CoH is good, but it is more the issue if the Player keeps non-stop booning Totems or does not want to heal outside of the CoH-Range, because they think it is smart to run full map for that small increase of healing speed…

But I can see the argument behind doging Lobbies, but I think it should be no issue at all to either show the Perks in the Loading Screen and/or Match Details (when you press ESC or whatever it is on Console) OR make every Perk give a notification if it makes sense. E.g. if someone is hooked, people see that this person has Deliverance active. Or if I get unhooked, the person who unhooked me gets the notification that I have Reassurance.

Overall something like this would help to bridge the gap between Solo and SWF a bit and while I am 100% sure that most players would not pay much attention to it and ignore it, every player who actually would get information which helps them to play more optimal is appreciated.

Yet surprisingly common. I've seen first hook go nexts again pre-buff, non-tombstone Myers...

I'm sure everyone who doesn't want this thing to come in is permanently against max sweat and cracked Blights, Spirits and Nurses... because I honestly can't see how you can defend this crap otherwise without being a colossal hypocrite...

The problem is that it is once again the lazy way of dealing with things. Overall it is a positive change - BUT it should not be the only change happening.

OP has brought up 2 games, which is nothing. And while I would agree that people DC/give up over insignificant things, BHVR is not planning to do much against the frustrating things which can lead to people DCing/giving up. E.g. you can most of the time mark a game against a Nurse as a loss, since you basically have to hope that the player is just learning her. And while there are measurements against tunneling, camping and slugging in the works, those are a) months from now (could easily only come in 10 months) and b) we dont even know if they will be effective.

Let alone that forcing players to be stuck in an already lost game is also not really great. If there is a person giving up on their first Hook for whatever reason (despite them getting a penalty), the other 3 Survivors are forced to play out a game which they cannot win. And at this point you are only a BP-Pinata for the Killer.

So while the change is indeed good, it is just too little.

  • Some Bugs are harder to fix than others. Who knows how much time it takes to fix this specific Bug, especially because there was no PTB before, which usually can show such a Bug and either makes it possible for the Devs to remove it or drastically lowers the it is in the Live Version of the game.

Not saying that it is good that this Bug exists. But if it happens in 1 out of 10 games, chances are high that it did not occur during playtesting. And then it is difficult to fix it for a mode, which is only around for quite a short amount of time.

  • From my experience there was not really an increase in slugging for the 4K with the Basekit-Mori. Maybe a bit, but not significant.

IMO the bigger issue is still slugging for the 4K, since the Killer prolongs a game they already won, despite them having all the advantages when it comes to searching for the Hatch. But this did happen before the Basekit-Mori change and this still happens when the Killer does not even use the Mori-Option.

At best the Basekit-Mori prolongs the time the last Survivor is killed a bit, since the Killer might wait until the Survivor on the Hook is dead so that they can get the Mori. But this should not really take more than a few extra seconds, so I dont see it as an issue.

Changes to slugging for the 4K - yes. But changes to the Basekit-Mori are not needed IMO.

I can understand the confusion, I’m not talking about the collision from the update for “holding a player hostage” I’m thinking in a fast forward situation past the update. I might be too far ahead of myself. I’ll take a lap.

Nah, you are not ahead of anything, you are just creating an issue for yourself which is not an issue and does not need discussion.

    • It is totally fine if Survivors bodyblock the Killer from getting a Hook. This is called Teamwork.
    • There does not need to be an inactivity penalty for not wiggling. Most of the time the Survivors wiggle and even if they dont wiggle, the Killer can just bring them to any Hook.
    • IF the Survivor decides to not wiggle AND the Killer gets bodyblocked from hooking them, it is free damage without any risk.
    • IF the Survivor decides to not wiggle AND the Killer gets bocyblocked from hooking them AND they would not be able to capitalize of that (for whatever reason), they could still just drop the Survivor and are not held hostage anymore. But this scenario is so unlikely.
  • Sadly not, but they should add an option to remove Character dialogue. Especially if they now add voicelines to every character, original or licensed. And most are really, really bad, whether it is Laras meaningless blabbering, Alans stupid screaming (main reason why I dont play Alan at all) or the gibberish of Thalita and Renato when both are in the Lobby.

Ideally they add a slider to each character and players can choose themselves what they want to hear and what not. But this will not happen, since it is effort and for some reason BHVR wants people to get annoyed by bad voicelines.

  • Nobody talks about removing bodyblocking for Hook Denials. This will not and should not be removed/changed.

  • Its bad. It could have been good, but suddenly Killer Mains were worried about Survivors being held hostage on the Hook. But the Devs could have just put an option for the hooked Survivor to avoid being affected by Reassurance and then it would have been a solution, but the Perk would have had some use.

Currently it is just an Anti-Camping Perk which is bad at Anti-Camping. 99% of the time I see it being used right before the Unhook so that the Survivors running it can at least press a button to know that they equipped the Perk. It cannot even be used above the Basement.

  • Try uninstalling the GPU-Drivers with DDU and then reinstall them fresh from the Website. I have a RX 6600 XT and sometimes it really does not like DBD and decides to not really work. Reinstalling the Drivers fixes it for me.

Usually I do it that way:

    • Download Display Driver Uninstaller
    • Download the latest GPU Driver
    • Start DDU and follow the instructions (including letting it Restart)
    • While PC restarts, remove the Internet Connection so that no new Driver is installed
    • Install previously downloaded Driver

This usually works whenever I have an issue with DBD. But this is only my experience and from my experience it is always the GPU Driver and it HAS to be a manual reinstall in order to work for me.

  • If you kick a Gen 8 Times you removed 40% of Progress just from kicking it without any Perks AND the Match is going on for quite a while so that you are most likely in a good spot.

  • I honestly only voted to have the BP-Bonus. I dont play 2v8 and I am happy that they keep the BP-Bonus for 1v4, even if they lowered it.

I really need yall to stop telling people they’re lying just because something isn’t happening to YOU personally or you haven’t seen it with your own eyes. How many people play this game? It’s not outside the realm of possibility that something is actually happening but you personally haven’t seen it. I’ve gotten 3 cheaters in the matches I’ve played in the last 2.5 days that I’ve recorded which is wild because I rarely see cheaters at all in my matches. There’s definitely an major uptick happening and I’m not even a streamer. There’s another streamer right now who has a hacker impersonating them. It is happening a lot more recently whether you’ve seen it or not and whether people are streamers or not.

But why do people like you think that OPs experience is the right one and not mine? I will obviously not open a topic a la "I have not faced a Cheater in months", but would that mean that if someone says they faced one, you would jump into the thread and defend my opinion?

This is why I was asking for videos - the chances are much higher that something is not understood and therefore people THINK there is cheating involved compared to actual cheating happening.

IMO the Mods should delete threads like this without actual evidence anyway.

  • You have videos of those instances? 4 Cheaters on 15-20 games sounds a lot, especially for someone who is not livestreaming. So I highly doubt that this is true.

  • Not really as long as you are not actually teaming up with them. You cannot control who your SoloQ-Teammate is, but if you are queueing up with them, you can have a problem.

But if it is a random Person, you will be fine.

  • IMO Blight, Billy and Spirit are fine as they are. Only Dried Cherry Blossoms on Spirit should be changed. Yes, they got nerfed, but the Add On is still a training wheel Add On for her and takes away all Skill needed for her, since you get such a clear indicator where the Survivor is. That it can be paired with MDR is the cherry on top, since both share the same Downside, but you basically get 25% Movement Speed Increase on top of the clear indicator where the Survivor is. (MDR on its own is completely fine after the Nerf, just with Dried Cherry Blossoms it is too much. And IMO Cherry Blossoms are the sole problem on Spirit)

Nurse however is busted and should not exist like that. It is mind baffling that a design failure like her is allowed to exist. Imagine you would have Infinites in the game. Or no Window-Blockers. Or old old BNPs. This is basically the equivalent to having Nurse still in the game as she is.

And the issue is, BHVR will never give her any significant Nerfs. (A significant Nerf for me would be that Nurse is in a Spot that not every Tier List since 2016 starts with putting Nurse at the top of S-Tier and declare her the strongest Killer without any explanation needed…). Two main issues why BHVR would not do anything to Nurse:

    • The backlash. Because for some reason some people still believe that Nurse needs a lot of Skill. She has a steep learning curve, but once you got that done, she is really not that deep. Any other Killer mentioned here takes more Skill to play. And you dont need Nurse to win most of your games.
    • Nurse is the perfect Killer for any P2W allegations. Whenever someone would say that a certain Killer is P2W (e.g. saying that Dracula has so much in his Kit, with the individual abilities alone sometimes better than whole Killer Powers), the Devs can just point to Nurse, say that the strongest Killer in the game is completely free and does not require to purchase any DLCs and thats it.

So yeah, aside from Nurse, all named Killers are completely fine (minus Dried Cherry Blossoms). And sadly every Nerf to any Killer besides Nurse is a Joke as long as she can exist like she does.

  • I havent really noticed an increase in slugging Killers in my games. And I also dont think an increase would really make sense at this point, since the "Anti-Slugging" measurements they are doing in Phase 1 do nothing against slugging or toxicity.

  • Never clicked that button in over 10k hours. Same with the "Did you have fun?"-Rating. Never used that.

I agree with your response to the OP... but if the survivor has gone down in the middle of the 3 gen to be camped by the killer, isn't that the Survivor's fault?

Also they have 4 minutes to crawl out from the 3 gen to get picked up, and I'd argue getting hooked in the 3-gen is probably worse and easier for the killer to capitalise on...

So what is this "problem" you describe that needs to be fixed? Shouldn't making such a massive mistake come with consequences? What makes the killer the issue in this situation?

The problem is that 3-Gens which can so easily be defended exist in the first place. And if the Killer is camping it… Yes, this is the Killers fault. 3-Gens are not only caused by Survivors, but they are also caused by Killers not really leaving them. And then it does not really matter if the Survivors do the other 4 Gens or dont do them at all - as long as the 3-Gen is not broken, the game cannot be won by the Survivors.

And sadly 3-Gens exist especially on reworked maps (most likely because the maps got too small). And yes, I think Gens should not spawn that close to each other that they are as easily defendable as they currently are.

It also does happen on maps which did not get recent reworks, even tho it is rare and usually not as extreme. Here is an example of a game I had yesterday on Resting Place:

    RestingPlace.png

The blue Dots are Gens I know of. On top is Shack, there was one Gen in Shack and then 2 right next to Shack. The middle Gen was more towards the other side and there were 3 Gens on the other side (I dont know where they were, simply because I never was there, since my whole game resolved around doing those 3 Gens). The Killer did not capitalize from the 3-Gen, but if they would have done so, it would have been an impossible game for the Survivors. And it is not like there is no room left on the northern side of the Map where the 2 Gens not in Shack could have been instead.

And with the reworked maps, you have them sometimes even more clumped together. And this is something which should be fixed. Not saying that Gens should not be able to be defended, but if you can stand in the middle of it and have clear vision on all 3 Gens, something is just wrong.

"It's your fault you were being bullied, you were allowing it by not playing along to their bullying and not letting them bully you more by trying to play the match, no matter how miserable it was making you!"

OK, got it. No wonder the player rate for the game is dropping.

I mean, I hope you are against the Devs doing something against Survivors Going Next. Since your argument can easily be used for the other side.

Let alone that nowadays people call everything "bullying", even if it is just being good at looping. You cannot really bully Killers anymore.

  • I voted for yes, simply because there was no mention that the 400% BP-Bonus will be removed. If it will be removed, I would have voted "No" but even if they remove it without mentioning it before, I will not play the mode anyway.

  • No idea why they brought Downvotes back. They were on the forums some time ago and were removed because they just dont work. And I have to say, they still down work.

Downvotes will only be used to Downvote other opinions without having to put some thought into it why those opinions are bad. Without Downvotes at least, people who think that someone is writing nonsense, cannot express it except if they want to bring some arguments themselves - which is how good discussions work.

What @UndeddJester wrote is also true that some people would not want to write something in fear of getting downvoted. And this Forum is already a big echo chamber…

Overall, really not a good idea.

While AFK is reportable, you aslo have to take into account the circumstances. The killer was not skilled enough to deal with the survivors and the survivors were not progressing the game on their end. The game was stagnant even before they went afk. It could of continued like that until the game auto ended.

Yes, but even the worst Killer will get to the point where the Survivors have nothing left to work with, which would force the Survivors to actually do Gens if they want to escape. You can be the best Looper, but if there are no Pallets left, you will go down against any Killer (even if it takes long).

Not defending the Behavior of the Survivors here, they were holding the game hostage, as I have written before, but the Killer also did not anything to progress the game.

None of those clips show anything substantial. Maybe stop abusing the Report-function because you are unhappy how your teammates play. It has nothing to do with Anon-mode.

  • It is at least 5 month until there are Anti-Tunneling measurements, so we dont even know what they are. Given BHVRs track record they can also be completely useless.

Calling the current Anti-Tunnel Perks "OP" is also a choice I guess. Neither of them are OP and if they were that good, you would see them run more often. DS is #8 according to nightlight, OTR is #14 and Babysitter #77 when it comes to useage of the Perks. This does not really sound like OP-Perks, if we consider that DS used to be #1.

But DS is weaker now with only 4 seconds (which is only 2,7 seconds of distance, so roughly 11 meters or so) AND 4 seconds nowadays are not the same as 5 seconds a few years ago. Years ago you could go down on Coldwind and stun the Killer with DS and reach a Jungle Gym. Nowadays you end up on an unplayable Filler Pallet. Whenever I see DS being used, the people go down pretty quickly afterwards, there is rarely an exception. So either those Survivors are super-bad (and you still lose to those, does not figure out, doesnt it?) or the Perk is just not good. And I am 100% sure it is the latter. DS is a joke, at least for most Killers (and the overall strength of Killers increased, both for all Killers and especially for new releases). And IMO tunneling through DS is always the right move if you want to win, respecting DS will not help anything.

OTR has a long duration, but does it really matter? Everything which involves around Endurance can be deleted instantly by hitting the Survivor after the Unhook. This removes Basekit Endurance, BT and OTR instantly. And the long duration does not really matter, because if you dont tunnel and someone with OTR pops up at a later point, this person was not doing anything for quite some time. And if you chase someone and they are silent, you should know that they have OTR.

And Babysitter… Is not good? It has edge cases where it is the best Anti-Tunnel Perk, but it is really not good. And you cannot abuse it by any means, since it only applies Haste.

I guess nobody would mind those Perks being nerfed if the Anti-Tunnel measurements which are planned are actually good. But as long as we dont know this, those Perks have every right to exist - even if they are sadly pretty weak and bad at Anti-Tunneling.

  • You know that this message only means that someone checked the Ticket? It does not mean that actions have been taken. And since you are reporting people without reason, this most likely only means that someone closed your report, because it was nonsense.

  • First of all, if you get 15 minute DC-Penalty, you DCed twice before.

But, for your actual question - I can only guess, but I think that the AFK-System tracks the percentage of the Match you were AFK. If you get insta-killed by one of the most recent Bots, you were 100% of the match AFK (even if it only lasted a few seconds), therefore you get the Penalty.

"Not sure why you hide the Chat, you probably were not nice yourself?"

There is no excuse for someone using that slur against another player regardless of what they wrote. Now, if the OP was using slurs too well they should be up for a ban too.

I mean, from what was written we dont even know if the other side said the N-word. Thing is, if OP is hiding chat, OP wants to hide what they said. Because they apparently have no issue with editing their pics, so the only reason to hide the chat would be to not be nice themselves.

I agree that slurs should not be tolerated. And I dont see this as an excuse. But I know very well that it also can happen that both sides are doing that.

  • Not doing Gens is holding the game hostage. But being AFK (what you did) is also reportable and you were also not participating in regular gameplay, so it would be a bit hypocritical to complain, but you do you I guess.

When it comes to Locker Saves - this only applies if the Killer pulls the Survivor out of the Locker. If the Survivor leaves the Locker and the Killer grabs them, then Flashlight- and Flashbang-Saves are possible. (It does not make sense IMO, but this is what the Devs went for)

The killer can't make anyone instantly quit, and there will still be plenty of survivors that will stay in the game the entire bleed out, just to spite the killer.

Imagine being so biased and twisted that you think that the Survivor who gets slugged by the Killer (an action the Killer is actively doing) is doing something out of spite.

  • @TicTac said:

I also dont think it will stop slugging but why should it incentivize killer? If i go right now for a 4-man-slug and succeed, i also get a win.

So where is the incentive? The only thing is that you dont need to wait for the bleedout/search the slugs. But if someone is so competitive that they go willingly for the 4-man-slug, they dont care about that. They are the ones who hold a 3-gen for half an hour, if that is the best way to win.

But the ones who slug to be toxic/waste the time of the slugs, are getting punished with the change.

So this may not solve slugging, but its atleast a bit better then.

People who slug the whole team just to bleed them out do this to be toxic. There is no other reason for that. And those will get a kick out of Survivors surrendering.

  • You are not really forced to go there, you can do Gens. If the Killer decides to camp someone on the ground for up to 4 minutes, you have time to complete the rest of the Gens. (Unless there is a 3-Gen and the person is right in that 3-Gen, but this is another problem which hopefully will get fixed at some point…)

The second part is very valid tho. The Surrender Option does not fix slugging at all and might just incentivize Killers to go for 4 man Slugs, since it is a Victory for them if all Survivors surrender. So it does not do anything against trolling or that slugging is just a bit too good currently.

Exactly, it's like people are forgetting that this has to go through testing and THEN a PTB before having a chance of hitting Live. If things go terribly they'll not implement it and take in feedback to make a better system.

We don't even have the specifics at the moment.

They have implemented other things which were announced and where everyone said that it was terrible.

And honestly, some things they proposed were just not really thought out. E.g. the Anti-Slugging measurements for Phase 1 dont do anything against the core issues with slugging, just make it that the last person can save a lot of time by surrendering, but it neither fixes slugging being too good, Perks still in the game which should not exist like that anymore or that it can be used for griefing.

Well, did you ever play against those vaults? They were absurdly powerful. Vaults were fine before this change when both sides have low ping, so in any low ping match it just made window vaults utterly broken. Plus you could vault straight over trappers traps. Crazy.

I believe they did end up buffing fast vault distance by a little bit which is fair imo, right now it is some kind of middle ground between the old and new vaults distance. The funniest part about this whole thing is that male fast vaults had like twice the distance as female fast vaults due to a bug for weeks and weeks.

The problem is that vaults, even with low ping, are not fine. I had situations (playing on around 30 Ping usually) where the Killer had an equally good Ping and I fast vaulted with Finesse and STILL got hit. And you can visually see that you just got dedicated because the animation of going down looks really weird, because you instantly lose any momentum and it looks like you were just standing at the Window.

And this is when both sides have really good Ping and honestly - how is this acceptable? You can basically have the best ping possible and if the Killer has bad Ping, you get hit anyway. But if the Killer also has good Ping, then there is no way that you should get hit there..

IMO it was a kneejerk reaction to revert to bad vaults after a few days (without any acknowledgment back then, they just reverted them without saying anyting) just because Killers complained. They should have given it way more time for players to get used to it and then figure out how to address any issues that might arise (e.g. Trapper Traps).

Yeah, this is a non-issue. I remember the Forums doomposting that Survivors will now bring Plot Twist and No Mither to counter Corrupt Intervention, but obviously this did almost never happen. (I have seen it once when playing Killer, but it did not really do much since I had Lethal Pursuer and got an easy Hook with that…)

    @Topic:

Agree, the slugging will cause issues. Yes, it will waste less time now (realistically only for the last person who gets downed). But slugging is still too beneficial, Knockout is still a Perk which should not exist like that and slugging the whole team is still possible, now with an extra "prize" of everyone surrendering.

When it comes to hiding, they should create something which makes it worth to play the game if only 2 Survivors are left. At this point it should not be "The first one found suicides on Hook so that the other person has a chance for Hatch", this is not good gamedesign (basically intentionally losing). Especially because with this, the Killer basically only needs a 2K to win the game, since hte 3K comes automatically.

I don't think I could disagree more with most of these changes. They're extremely out of touch with the solo survivor playerbase. They do nothing to address the core issues with the gameplay loop that lead to these situations. They're treating symptoms.

This seems like the worst possible way to address slugging. You're just giving the griefers the power trip they want. This does nothing to address the slugging power difference between solo and SWF. It does nothing to address the viability of slugging, or the gameplay around it. Slugging is exactly the same, except trolls now have more reason to do it because they enjoy making things miserable for other players, and you add even more of a power trip aspect by forcing a surrender.

Anti-hiding is absurd. You were so close to getting it. "Unwinnable games". Why is the game over when half the team is sacrificed? What incentive do survivors have to do objectives in that situation? Where is the player agency? Again, the problem with the gameplay loop is not addressed here. Do you understand that a game is essentially unwinnable if even 90 gen charges remain in a 2v1? Do we just wait for the killer to play eeny-meeny-miny-mo with the crows? What else is there to do?

Edit: I forgot the Go Next Prevention. Are you going to stop putting solo survivors in completely pointless matches? Again, you seem to think you're entitled to the player's time with this change.

These changes read like an entitled killer's wishlist. I've been playing for 7 years and 5k hours. This is absurd.

Hard agree and to be honest, in my initial response I did not think enough. I realized that slugging is still way too strong with what they plan in Phase 1 (since it does not adress the Core Issue), but I was happy that I at least dont have to lie on the ground for 4 minutes if a Killer decides to grief the whole team and I thought that griefing might go down with that.

But it will probably rather increase, since Killers would now get a victory if Survivors surrender.

When it comes to Anti-Hiding, I personally only thought of the extreme cases where two Survivors are hiding without any intention to progress the game. However, it is true that something should be done for this situation which gives the Survivors the chance to come back. And while some Killers will probably say that they already lost at this point - especially as Solo-Survivor you have no control over your teammates and if one or two persons got tunneled out early, this does not mean that the two remaining Survivors were bad and dont deserve to win.

Because, I am honest, when it comes to the 2v1, I dont even try, when I get caught, I suicide on Hook so that the other person has a chance to get the Hatch. When my SWF-Mate and I are the last persons alive, even if we both are not on Death Hook, when one of us gets found it is basically "Yeah, good luck" and Hook Suicide.

And something should be changed here. Survivors should not have to give up when it is 2v1. This is not good game design. And it basically means that the Killer only needs a 2K for a Win, since they will get the 3K automatically.

  • They are useless. But IMO players should have the chance to complete the match, if they want to. There are reasons to do so, e.g. Achievement-Progress, Archive-Challenges, Dailies, getting good use out of a Cake or BPS… 9 out of 10 times I would not play out a game where someone DCs very early, if it would be possible to leave without penalty. But if I have a Daily on a Killer I dont like, I would even keep playing when all Survivors are Bots, just to get it done.

  • Not really. Players can still decide to keep playing with the Bots. The good thing here would be - it would be their choice.

  • They could put that in the Loading Screen. This might still lead to DCs while loading, but I dont think it would be much. OR at the very least it should be in the game when pressing "Esc", where you see the names and Ping of the players.

This would just be something which bridges the gap between Solo and SWF a bit. People might know that I have Resurgence and dont lead all the healing progress go to waste against Hemorrhage. Or I know that someone else has Deliverance and dont run across the Map just for them unhooking themselves when I am halfway there.

  • IMO both sides should have the ability to leave the game when there was an early DC or Hook Suicide. Give the penalty to the person doing it, totally fine, but let others leave without Penalty. Most Killers dont want to play 3v1s and even more Survivors dont want to play 3v1s.

So if there is an early DC on either side, everyone else can also DC without penalty while keeping all the BPs earned at this point. (Obviously it needs to be defined what "early" means in this case, but I think it should be possible to not have to play out a match which is already decided)

Well, first thing is that there haven't been any patches to introduce new perks this year yet.

Since I assume you meant 2024, the only "meta" perk in about 3 years was MFT and that was subsequently nerfed out of the meta. The last one before that was CoH.

Maybe "finesse" is what you're thinking of? Mind blowing amounts of value regardless, since I had to stretch back 3 years to come up with maybe one minor example.

Exactly. And at least for CoH it was quite clear that the Perk was more of a Cashgrab than anything else, since it was mainly there to push the sales of Mikaela, who was released in a Solo-Chapter. (And it was probably not even needed, given how popular she is)

People might argue that it is the same for MfT, since it was an Anniversary Chapter, but IMO it is way weaker than other Cashgrab-Perks like CoH or MoM and other original Anniversary Chapters did not have such a strong Survivor-Perk (or Killer-Perk). You really have to go back in time a lot to find a new Meta-Perk, even nowadays the most popular Perks on Survivor are years old.

Killers on the other hand get decent Perks frequently. (Even tho, it should obviously be added that a huge factor is that Killers play differently so a Perk which might not be Meta on every Killer will still be really good on some Killers)

While on Survivor the only time you see new Perks is when people are doing Doomposting on the Forums.

been playing since Ghostface chapter, 3.5k+ hours on the game, maybe you should just google "meta survivor perks 2025" and see how many activate upon getting unhooked :)

Please, enlighten me. I sadly dont know how to google something, because I am pretty old. :( So give me a list and I can look at your points and give counterpoints.

Or, you just say "It is how I say, I dont need to proof" and I assume you dont have any proof. Your choice. :)

  • It was more fun IMO.

Back in the day you had a big Rank Reset and when this happened, you had good Matchmaking for a few weeks. Only in the last week after Rank Reset the Matchmaking became somewhat like MMR is today, but not as bad. Because back then, when you were good and ranked up fast, you also went against really good players who also ranked up fast.

They destroyed that when they changed the Rank Reset to just setting you back to the next Rank. So instead of going from Rank 1 to Rank 11, players went from Rank 1 to Rank 5. Which means that those people who struggled to reach Red Ranks were there pretty quickly, which watered down the Matchmaking.

The only thing Killers wanted was that Ranks were separate between Killers, but this was not really possible. Because if you are Rank 1 with e.g. Wraith, you cannot really be Rank 20 with Pig, because the general gameplay is the same and it would be unfair. But the sad thing is that MMR did not fix that, because if you want to learn a new Killer, you will have to lose quite a bunch of games nowadays before you are at a lower MMR to have easier games.

Overall, it was a better time IMO.

youre right, im really not gonna say that, because if I had to list every tool the survivors were granted to make the killer objective harder in the past 3 years then id have quite a long list.

Oh, please do. I still want to know. Can you also add since when you are playing this game?

Lets hope so if they dont adress tunneling slugging camping etc correctly the pool of fun/viable killers might shrink even more

Every Killer is viable. You can play Trapper and will most of the time not be completely outclassed.

    @Topic:

It is good that it is happening. But to play Devils advocate here:

    • This only happens because FNAF is around the corner and it will be one of their biggest licenses ever (if not THE biggest). I dont like FNAF but I have to admit that it will be big for DBD. And then you dont want an influx of new players who have to deal with all those issues.
    • Some of the things on that Roadmap could have been done way earlier. E.g. the point of hiding and bodyblocking, which will be improved with the use of AFK-Crows… Yes, it is nice that it is coming, but this could have been done years ago.

But I dont want to be too negative, it is nice that QoL-Changes are coming and BHVR means it serious, because they push back new releases. I hope in the longterm we will have less Chapters per year so that they dont have to push back anything.

Looking forward to them, especially the Anti-Slugging things. Because, well… Slugging is very, very common.

not bad but still pales in comparison to the number of tools survivor has gotten in the past 3 years

Oh, come on. You cannot really say that Survivors are that strong in 2025 or that they received Buffs. Even if things came into the game which might speed up progression (can you enlighten me what you mean? Most of them are Noobtraps), Killers got way more in the past 3 years. Even longer.

  • Most likely because the first time they had 400% incentive only on 2v8, which resulted in the queues still being long, since there were still not enough Survivors, but 1v4 also having long queues, because 400% was enough to pull them to 2v8. Now they provide 400% Bonus to both queues.

This will also help to determine if people play 2v8 because of 2v8 or because of the incentive. And currently it looks more like they did this during the first 2v8 because of the incentive.
