For all your talk of facts, you kinda ignored the post telling you that the data you are requesting would not be factually accurate. Again, BHVR does not collect data properly because they knowing ignore variables that have a direct impact on their info's end result. its part of why they don't release it very often, because some people will use incomplete data to try to push false narratives, others will see its incomplete data and thus irrelavent, and the rest will just be like "oh cool behind the scenes numbers" and go about their day.
No I didn’t. But it’s inconceivable that a gaming company, built in the digital world, is not collecting and using data to understand their game. If they collect data to understand it, they can release what they know. “Not factually accurate” is ridiculous. They either don’t want to release what they know or feel they can’t properly explain it or have horrible data analysts. Either way, fail BHVR.

It's far from final, but now it can be. People defend nurse on the forums and always make it as if people's opinions don't matter because "do you even play nurse", "show me your gameplay" etc. and say the new Wesker perk wouldn't be broken on nurse because x and x. But now, a streamer with a bit under 400 wins in a row with Nurse made a video saying how busted she, even after the add-on nerfs, so I don't think this topic can be questioned anymore, because if anyone has the right to an overruling opinion, it's him.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QIW6juxPwQ
Other than admitting that his main is OP, and that she keeps the game from being in a healthier state regarding balance of other perks he gives some suggestions for nerfing her:
- Make her first blink a basic attack, but second and third blinks special so they don't proc exposed and other effects.
- Disable aura reading while charging her blink, so that the already not super strong perk can be reverted after being nerfed pretty much only because of this one killer.
An argument I imagine could show up is "that's just top of the top gameplay, nurse is hard to play", she really isn't. Only thing she requires is learning the blink range/position, which is made void by her common addon that shows the blink location.
Thanks for posting this.

“It’s a bit too easy?” Nurse and Blight are the only ones who stand a chance at top level. Survivors have way too much resources and broken ######### that playing any lesser killer is essentially an automatic loss or damn near close to it. Especially, with the whopper 6.2.0. You sound like the type of player that wants perks and other mechanics to carry you rather than assist you.
I personally believe the game is killer sided vs solos and survivor sided vs swfs. I think most people do. So if nurse is one of the only killers that can compete with swfs then she's decimating solo teams. But haven't we already heard that facing a high rank swf happens like 6% of the time? Is it fair for just about everyone who faces nurse to be slaughtered just so the nurse player can hold his own vs the very best teams? No. That's not what game balance is supposed to be. This is balancing the game around an outlier. I mean if that's fair, then it would be fair from the survivor side as well right? A nurse levels the playing field in the unfair high level swf situation so that the game is not survivor sided vs swf anymore when using her. So since the game is killer sided vs solos, solo survivors should be buffed enough to take on the strongest killers, like nurse. Right? That's analogous to the nurses beating strong swfs situation. If you have a right to deal with your 'unfair' / unbalanced situation, then why shouldn't survivors? Now I realize it's impossible to do that for survivors since you can't buff solos and not swfs realistically, but I think the point is fair.

Exactly, I am disagreeing with you as you specifically want biased data. No offense, but if I disagree with you a lot, you probably have some emotional opinions... Obviously. I do not do that, you need logic to win over the God of face camping.
No dude. You just deliberately misinterpret my words and I'm tired of having to clarify. Where did I say I want biased data? That's you. All you. I have no problem with facts. I want facts. I understand the scientific method. Unbiased, peer reviewed. objective results. Maybe you don't understand since you don't understand science or data analysis. BHVR takes all the raw data of the games and then breaks it out in ways that make sense. Fairly. You can look at data matched by MMR or by Peak vs non-peak hours, etc. I think they should be able to account for DC's and suicides by creating a field in the data that counts the time on the hook. If it was very short (flag it as a probable suicide). Then you could look at the data with that flag or not. There are plenty of ways to look at data. I'm not interested in pushing a false point. I'm looking for the facts.

The data is looked at "fairly." You specifically want the data from Nurse mains, lol. That is cherry picking, fam.
Jesus. Can you not even agree with a simple statement I make? "Fairly". Look it up in a GD dictionary. Synonym: unbiased.
-
Honestly, I really blame BHVR for not being transparent and providing the community with stats and data. I firmly believe that when you look at the data fairly, nurse has the highest win rates in the game and would go beyond what is considered balanced. But I can't prove it and no one else here can prove their points either. We all have to argue our own subjective experience and things we've seen so nothing will get resolved. Bad on you BHVR.

Pyramid Head system for all killers. Survivor gets caged and sent across map.
-
Yeah, you must not play enough survivor. As most have said, survivors get tunnelled mainly because it's easiest for the killer. Sure they also throw in other reasons like killing the toxic players but it's 95% just optimal / EZ play.
And no, the majority 'won' on this.
Finally, I do agree that it wont be the solution. It will certainly help. But we need to switch every killer to Pyramid style - send survivor to a cage across the map, or something similar. Human nature is such that the majority will take the easiest route, and that's camping and tunnelling. Killers will still proxy camp because the hook is the water cooler of the game, they KNOW people will be there and they don't have to run around to gens. It's lazy, but it works in solo queue. Even if they play 'nice' and don't tunnel off hook they get the easy hit on the rescuer. This stuff won't change until we make it easier for killers to just move on from hook and find someone else. I like the P Head system because it does just that in a simple way.

If anything, Sprint Burst should cause Hindered at the end of it, not Exhausted.
This happened to me so many times: Try to protect a gen, chase a survivor, he sprint bursts to a good looping area, I go back, other survivors are on the gen, I chase some other survivor, he also sprint bursts away towards a good pallet/loop.
At least Dead Hard was only a thing after you already injure a survivor so you might get something out of that survivor even if you don't get the down, through Mangled/Hemorrhage/Thana/Franklin's etc.
But with Spring Burst, if the survivors play good, and esp if they are SWF, the only thing you'll get out of that ordeal is frustration.
This happened to me so many times: I was minding my own business when a blight/nurse/spirit/legion/billy/pinhead/clown/Freddy/Sadako/demo/dredge/oni/wraith/huntress/deathslinger/trickster showed up. I sprint burst away but they caught me right after. Yeah high mobility, teleporting and ranged killers are everywhere and as others have noted, sprint bursters walk around all the time and give you plenty of time value.

I already said I play to win, so I’ll tunnel if it helps me win.
If BHVR doesn’t want killers to be able to more easily find survivors after someone is hooked, then they haven’t addressed WHY killers camp and tunnel.
Yeah, you’re a dead end. You’re some combination of whining about BBQ changing and lazy. There’s no shortage of ways to find survivors so learn how to use them. Why killers camp and tunnel - because it’s easier than going and finding new survivors. If you expect them to ‘address’ that, good luck. That’s the inherent problem of camping and tunnelling: it’s easy. Thus human nature and the bell curve will mean most players will camp and tunnel. It won’t be resolved until they adopt the pyramid head method for all killers or something similar that makes it easier to chase other survivors.

As I’ve mentioned to other people on these forums, I don’t care about shaming or the survivor’s handbook. I play to win, if that means proxy camping when the other survivors are hiding, then I’ll do that, and people can just deal with it.
Punishing camping isn’t addressing WHY killers tunnel, it’s just trying to discourage killers from tunneling. We were told BHVR would address WHY killers tunnel, and they haven’t done that yet.
But my point is directly addressing your complaint. You said BHVR doesn’t want killers finding survivors after hooking. Your complaint is that it’s too hard to find survivors, yet there are a 100 ways to find survivors, including BBQ which is literally the exact perk you want. So exactly what causes tunnelling, other than your own laziness?
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3147482#Comment_3147482
Yeah. Having a positive motivation to hook all 4 survivors, and sometimes being shown a survivor’s aura when I hooked someone, meant I camped and tunneled less back then. Now I have zero positive motivation to spread hooks.
So, you want the devs to make it even easier to find survivors after you hook or you're going to camp and tunnel.
BBQ does EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT, but isn't worth it because they took away the bloodpoints. They just reduced the Bloodweb costs to account for that but I'm assuming that's still not good enough for you?
And the 20 other aura and sound perks that tell you where survivors are, the glowing generators, the scratch marks, bird sounds, line of sight visual information, skill check error notifications, injured sounds, blood trails... all of that and you still demand help in finding survivors or its tunnel town.
Sounds like a lazy, entitled killer. You want the game handed to you. You have enough help. Stop being spoiled and learn to play the game.

It's not ridiculous at all, if you're gonna have the nerve to call something easy that a lot of people would disagree with then there shouldn't be any problem proving it unless you're trash with her and she's not as easy as you're coming off which I assume is probably the case
You're misunderstanding and/or misrepresenting what I said. Try reading the original post of the thread, I'm not going to summarize it for you here. And I'm not wasting time posting videos of my play that show nurse is broken because it's well known. If you think that's some form of proof that she isn't then fine... I'll have to live with that. lol. The only thing that will definitively PROVE whether she is or not is the actual data, analyzed correctly (various MMRs, accounting for quits, swfs, etc). Until then you just have nearly the entire community of survivors (4/5 of the dbd playing base) that say she's ridiculous but you won't accept it.
What's most aggravating is that I know that the majority of killers know it's true as well. But the vocal ones here defending nurse are the ones that either just want that gravy train to keep rolling or actually believe it's their amazing skill that gives them insane win rates and insane match speeds with nurse. If you're winning 90% of your games with nurse, grow up and realize it's not just you. And let's be clear, when accurately matched, win rates are supposed to be ~ 50%. If you genuinely think Nurse has 50% win rates across the board at various MMRs, then we're just at an impasse until we see well analyzed data. But my play experience, and that of the majority of survivors I have to assume, is that over the hundreds of times I've faced her in the past year, it's almost always a slaughter except for the small # of times it's a new nurse player.

Exactly this. Trust me, this guy speaks for all killers. lol.
I think the change is great though. It will help endgame saves. Old basekit I could be hooked 10 meters from the door and not make it all the way out with killer body blocking. It will also help with your average killer.
I think the only way to seriously address camping and tunnelling though is to make the Pyramid Head method the default. Killers send their victims across the map.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/341890/slugging-for-4k
It's not the killer wasting your time. it's your teammate who stays inactive and is waiting for you to die just to get a hatch escape. Probably he should be busy resquing you or working on a gen instead of waiting for the game to end. The killer is doing what he's supposed to do, trying to find and kill survivors. A passively hiding survivor is the one wasting time, not the killer
This is 100% wrong and honestly deserves its own thread. Lol. The killer is in control. It is the killer who leaves a survivor on the ground to setup the trap because they want their precious 4k. You know… it means they’re good! They create a situation where you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. If you go for the save you’re walking into the trap and you’ll both be found and die. If you leave them on the ground you’re a bad teammate who wont save his friend and held the game hostage. So you’re stupid if you save and you’re a bad teammate if you don’t. Also, considering that most solo games give me bad teammates, how likely am I to go die for someone who has been awful all game. If ever save in this situation its because the guy on the ground worked hard.
And… what happens when you don’t save and they can’t find you?? They try to get the slugged teammate to turn traitor by letting them go so they lead them to you. I’ve had this situation happen plenty. Killers will slug for a 4k and wait out the teammate hiding even with 2 DCs. It’s nothing but their own need for the validation of a 4k. Sure, some of you don’t do it and some are punishing toxic behavior. But this stuff is bread and butter killer behavior. It happens pretty much every time the game is down to 2 survivors and it’s hopeless to try to do gens.
-
@SuzuKR said:
So I take it that you also just leave teammates on hook to die/don’t mind if teammates leave you on hook to die? If survivors can get a 3 out, trying for a 4 out seems kind of cringe. Makes no sense why they want to get the maximum result. Completely incomprehensible and illogical. Imagine people not playing the way you want, how rude.
Wow. It’s almost as if someone is willingly ignoring the true issue and creating a false dichotomy.

Matches where very good players are playing against each other result in an average of 2K+2E, both in and out of comp DBD. Tournament VODs are available publicly on Twitch and YouTube. Non-comp DBD examples include non-comp KYFs between very good players, and pub lobby games where very good players ended up happening to get other very good players, which is pretty rare. Both of these can be found on YouTube. For instance, SupaAlf MMR testing day 3 (when even matches were prioritized over queue time), him against extremely good players/partial comp player (eg, 2 of them are comp) lobbies in pub lobbies (thus no comp rules or anything), Ayrun and other similarly extremely good survivors playing against great Nurses occasionally, etc. I can find the specific video examples once I’m home.
So, videos that people post. Which is not an objective, balanced sample. By definition many videos are posted because someone considers them special enough to be shared. Also, tournament survivor teams will roughly be equivalent to the best swf players in the game. So lets be fair… I’ll concede that the best players in the game in a swf can sometimes beat a nurse. Does that really mean that Nurse isn’t broken? I’m a data analyst for my day job. Official data on nurse win rates and/or something similar is what I’m talking about. Some example videos where people manage to beat a nurse doesn’t work.

I think it’s interesting no one complaining about Nurse ever has an actual answer for why survivors perform evenly against her if the skill matchup is even, and there’s no other extraneous factors that would obviously distort it (eg, a map that favors one side, people not trying, meme builds vs serious builds, etc).
Please clarify “perform evenly against her”. What are the numbers and sources?

It's a fact. Skilled players are better than Scrubs. Scrubs need to put in effort learning instead of cry and moan everytime they get decimated by someone that climbed the skill ladder higher than them.
Their wins are deserved since they put in time to master their craft instead of asking for hand outs. Time for you to do the same and master survivor role.
So stop blaming players that are better than you and start looking at the mirror for once.
And here's a tip for you: To reach higher skill level, you need to drop the casual mentality.
Ladies and Gentlemen… I present you the Killer mindset. A mix of undeserved arrogance and deliberate ignorance of facts. A nurse’s high skill curve doesn’t mean she should be all powerful. That seems to be your main misunderstanding. I’ve put in thousands of hours as well. If I’ve mastered survivor should I be uncatchable? These players aren’t ‘better’ than me. Well, I mean sure… some are. I’m not that arrogant. But these Nurse mains are just exploiting an imbalance in the game. They are bringing a gun to a fist fight and then patting themselves on the back for their awesome fighting skills.

Forgot to quote you above, sorry. Here are my achievements in Dbd below. It's kind of hard to not play solo queue and have nearly all of the survivor achievements. From you quoting old meta I'm pretty sure your problems are stemming from an unwillingness to adapt to change. That would be frustrating but you shouldn't try to take it out on people who have adapted and like the patch. Perhaps you should just accept that while some people are struggling others aren't? Game experiences are different for different people and, as with @jesterkind , my experiences are quite a bit different from the doomsayers.
I'll put on the screenshots again in case you don't want to look in the previous posts for them. If I supposedly don't play survivor then please explain how I was able to get so many of the them including the hardest ones?

Those are the only survivor achievements I have left but those are easy to get with specific builds that, fortunately, are quite good after 6.1. In the last two weeks, I've decided to finish off my achievements so the survivor ones should be done shortly. The Huntress one hopefully before I hit retirement age.
The fact that you have played a decent amount of survivor doesn’t make me trust your opinion when you’re declaring things that are clearly untrue. I also have no idea of your play style or how much you have played post-patch. But the best I could say is that you’re an outlier. It’s fairly unbelievable that any survivor is having a BETTER experience post update.

So instead of you becoming a good survivor, you want good killers to be nerfed to compensate for your low level?!
You mastered a very difficult killer. You’ve proven your mastery
Now it is your turn to master survivor role and give the master nurse a challenge instead of crying for nerfs because they are out of your league.
Seriously… how many times do I need to spell it out. No one buys that argument. I realize that many killers have a problem accepting the fact that their wins are ‘assisted’. They want to believe that they win 100% because of their amazing ability in a fair game. They are just that much better than every one else. But come on man… it’s time to burst that bubble and wake up to reality. She’s broken. You’re playing EZ mode. No one is impressed. Yes…. She was really hard to master. Kudos to you for going through that work. But stop being lazy now. Play something that has some level of challenge.
-
I think the argument of “learning to play against” a top tier nurse is moot at this point. She’s broken. Everyone knows it. You just like easy games and feeling all powerful. I get it. But seriously, it’s not impressive anymore. It’s just broken. Move on.
-
Lol. OP is funny but by his other posts he's clearly just a disgruntled survivor who has resorted to playing ultra selfish to win. I did it for a while too but it's an empty experience.
Here's a better alternative to how to manage solo queue hell if you assume your teammates are terrible:
** Saboteur, Aftercare, Lithe, WMI
I figure, these guys are going to be terrible and need saving so I'll have fun saving and maybe model good play behavior. Sometimes I bring an Alex's to focus on the sabos, sometimes a medkit to heal myself but the aftercare helps us on gens and healing and general info as well as letting me see who is screwing off and letting them see that you should ALWAYS BE DOING SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE as a survivor.
Sometimes I use a FTP build and instaheal them off hook so they have no excuses to mope around and hide. Just get back to work.

My solo survivor experience got better. At first, the only thing that made it worse were the rage quitters but they have either stopped or are low enough in MMR I seldom have them as teammates anymore.
Tunnelers now pretty much throw the game when they tunnel me or anyone else who can run tiles and has OTR instead of Just being minor speed bumps. I'm also seeing less tunneling and camping as both are less effective than they were in the previous patch.
Part of this could be since I only used DH pre 6.1 when I was pipping up in Iri grades as it made escaping exponentially easier so the 6.1 changes hit me less than those that used it. I did use DS all the time but new OTR is far more effective than old DS.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3145660#Comment_3145660
As soon as you said OTR has less value than old BT, I immediately discounted everything else you said. New OTR is objectively better than old BT.
Ignore all of this. Completely biased untruth. Listen to the survivor mains. MMR doesn't give you good games so thats a lie. Survivor quits are still prevalent and tunnelling is more effective than ever. OTR is a good perk but requires all 4 survivors run it vs having maybe 1-2 run BT on a team. And still, it's just a single free hit just like BT was so if a killer camps and tunnels of hook its the same deal...
And TheSubstitute, yeah... you're going to attack me. I'm going to ignore you. Even if you honestly believe what you wrote... it's completely wrong and not worth arguing with you.
-
Nerfed Survivors - DS, Self Care, IW, DH - All META perks that helped you in chases and to survive tunnelling.
Boosted Killers - Faster bloodlust, faster swing recovery, slower gens - some anti-gen perks were nerfed but they just switched to other anti-gen perks
Overall - Matchmaking even worse and because of above more quitting survivors (which I don't blame).
My basic experience is that I now run weaker builds, killers have no fears about tunnelling, and everyone is running Lethal Pursuer to just start pressuring and downing right out of the gate causing even more quits/DCs. Increase in Nurse running LP, IF. It still boggles my mind that devs have allowed Nurse to be so OP for so long. How do they not see that nurse can have a game won in 1-2 minutes. LP, Down, scream, Down, quit, next game.
-
I agree that basekit kindred, status icons, and lobby info would be helpful. Basekit kindred may also help swf but much less. SWF players dont waste a perk on Kindred, solo q wouldn't have to either anymore. The idea of lobby info on builds is great as well and wouldn't benefit swfs at all.
But... A couple things:
1) The REAL problem is matchmaking and peak times. Solo Q is terrible mostly because when you play any time other than peak hours matchmaking has a much more limited pool to work with and you almost always get 1-3 teammates that are far out of your MMR window. You simply can't win unless the killer is brand new to the game. During peak it's still hit and miss but better. I would still LOVE basekit kindred and other info to help make the games tolerable.
2) I believe Behavior does not want solo q to be closer to swf. I think they factor in the easy games for killer vs solos as part of the equation for how to keep killers happy. If solo q became tougher killers would complain because they are clearly the more 'entitled' of the 2 sides. They expect their easy wins that offset their occasional beatdown by a serious swf.
Also, bear in mind, for this topic and others when we're all discussing our opinions on relative difficulty... I'm talking about top tier survivors and killers. Not that there isn't a place to talk about balance etc for ALL players, but if you're an average to newish player, of course you're going to lose some games as killer or survivor regardless, because you don't know how to play well enough yet. But established 'red rank' players who want to have a solid, fair game as a solo find those games extremely rare because of the issues described. You simply cannot get a team of 4 'red rank' solos together and then, even if you do, you're severely hindered by the lack of information. Yet, you're expected to face a high mmr nurse or blight and penalized if you quit. No way is the game balanced or fair.

Since we have this thread going… Has any one else noticed a significant increase in Pinhead finding the box at game start? I have found that about 50% of my matches vs pinhead start this way lately, whereas it used to be maybe 5%? My assumption is that there is a trick to figuring out where the box spawns at game start that has gone public, just like there are patterns to where survivors usually spawn… maybe I’m wrong… but if others have noticed this lately, maybe I’m right… thanks…

I think you mean concise and to the point but you are free to run away from this one, I wouldn't want to debate me on this either.
Its also very clear from the comment chain that you shouldn't, so good call.
Last note if you do read it or if not it doesn't matter but You haven't stated any facts, don't confuse your opinion for fact that's a very common mistake.
Lol. Run away from you. You honestly believe your intellect is so sharp you inspire fear. I realize most Killers have unwarranted ego issues and arrogance but you are the prime example. I’m not engaging with you anymore for one simple fact: you’re annoying af. My point was my original post and it’s undeniable. Cya…

You are calling him junior... After throwing a hissy fit because you do not like a character in a video game. Seems legit. I am really glad you have opinions that are facts and everything, that's great. But Pinhead is a clearly a top. You were mistaken.
Lol. “Throwing a hissy”? So lets be clear… your definition of “throwing a hissy” is agreeing with the OP that Pinhead sucks. And yeah… these boards are pretty much all opinions aren’t they so… i love that your opinion is just that my opinion is stupid but… your opinion is fine…lol. You people are hilarious.

I don’t know why you think that’s even remotely relevant. Fun is subjective and others will find fun something others find unfun. That is why it’s irrelevant to balance. Don’t like it? Tough, get over it. If it’s balanced, it doesn’t matter. You cannot make something objectively "more fun" because fun itself is a subjective opinion. This game will never be fun for all 5 players always. Nor does it try to be, because that’s impossible regardless.
As for the point on solo queue, it’s almost like that means solo queue information should be buffed, not handicapping a killer who also has to play against non-solo.
lol. actually arguing that games aren't supposed to be enjoyable by both sides. the input on this board amazes me. lighten up junior. we're saying pinhead sucks. our opinion. it just happens to also be true... lol
-
LOFL. I'm totally with you OP. If this game is supposed to be fun in some way for both sides, Pinhead is the worst killer in the game by far in terms of fun to play against. Especially in solo where you cant coordinate who gets the box and when and some survivors still dont seem to understand how it works.

"The numbers are meaningless"... it was you who used the numbers to frame your point do you not understand your own point?
Re-read your own post, I quoted it, its there its right there in the last sentence. Its a great example of hyperbole I don't need to look it up to know that.
"Winning is meaningless when you can't lose" is a text book example of pseudo-profundity, a common literary weakness in written text.
These statements sell well though because they sound profound or intelligent that's why you see them on T-Shirts, little wooden kitchen signs and in guru self help books.
They make a bad topic for debate though as their context is so open they don't really say anything. Much like your discussion topic which is..
Basically you are losing games and you are angry about it, original subject explained in full.
I mean yeah I mocked your post but hey at this point, you don't need me to make you look foolish you are doing a great job on your own.
Yeah. As suspected all fluff, no content. I think pseudo intellectual is the most appropriate use of 'pseudo' here. I'm not wasting any more time on your replies buddy. The phrase "winning is meaningless when you cant lose" is simply a succinct statement of fact. There's nothing to trash there but you wanted to talk.
And as for burt0r... I always love when people attack opinions as worthless because they come from "an anonymous nobody". Maybe when you grow up you'll learn to actually digest what you read and weigh its truth or not instead of dismissing it based on not knowing the source. You know, like science or art does. The pieces speak for themselves, regardless of who created them. By your own argument, I ignore you. lol.
All I did was state a simple fact that is relevant for many many games in DBD - OP builds/Killers versus teams of mismatched solos - and point it out. The "wins" are meaningless. It's not like symmetrical games where if you win a lot, you're probably very good at your game. In DBD, Killers get to win all the time because the games are terribly mismatched. No, sorry pal, you're not "good". You're just playing an asymmetrical game with horrible matchmaking. Needs to be said and understood.

"10000 times greater"... Hyperbole is fun too.
Not as profitable as pseudo-profundity but good for ramping up the emotion of a point in an attempt to make it seem less farcical.
There is a lot of emotion attached to this it must be taken seriously.
Lets put it all together.
"Winning without threat of loss is meaningless, I have no respect for those whom engage in meaningless winning, it happens again and again for 100's of games across 1000's of hours, have we not suffered enough at the hand of those who profit off meaningless wins. Loss is the gel that glues wins together, without it we all melt" - end scene.
I'd like to accept this Oscar on behalf of all the downtrodden gamers whom strive so hard for their fun but are continually denied by merciless winners.
You should use a dictionary so you understand the actual meaning of the words you use. They sound pretty but you make no point. 1000x or 10000x… The number of meaningless, easy killer games is vastly greater than 4 man SWF games. And I hazard the number is somewhere between 1000 and 10000. You can try to deflate the point by ridiculing it but it remains true. And “pseudo-profundity”. Lol. You like that one but please, my eloquent friend, explain how the original subject is false.
-
Yeah I read a few of these replies… My point remains true. Playing these OP builds and killers against solos is meaningless and proves nothing. Yet killers will deny it until their last breath since they need to believe they win because they’re good. Sorry to deflate your ego buddy. And while I will say the primary blame is awful matchmaking, it IS the killer’s fault that they choose to play the OP stuff KNOWING that the odds are that they are going to get yet another easy game and rack up more meaningless “wins”. And yeah, I would say the same about 4 man SWFs who match up against killers below their level. The win is meaningless. It wasn’t a challenge. But the frequency of the former over the latter is like 10000 times greater.

For one thing, as I said, he tiered before a single gen was done, inside of a minute or 2. If it isn’t obvious, this is a solo experience. If you think there aren’t OP Michael builds you’re a fool. Considering the massive imbalance for solo play, you’re already at a huge disadvantage. It makes the ‘gift’ builds like Perma 3 Meyers near unbeatable. The point is there are many ‘gift’ builds for killer, some more than others. Indoor aura builds for Mike and Wraith, Rusty shackles hag, lately the anti-gen legion builds actually hit that mark as long as the killer is at least average or better. And then just the OP nature of Nurse and Blight themselves. There is zero chance that killer kill rates are anywhere close to 50%. If they are, they need to look at their data differently.
And the overall point, to all of these people playing these unloseable games: Winning is meaningless when you can’t lose. Zero respect and I completely deny you’ve achieved anything. It’s just going through the motions to an inevitable outcome. So yeah…. Get good and try playing something fair.
-
Nurse players, Blight players, Perma 3 Michael, etc etc. Their wins mean nothing to me. It’s not even a game.

This, so much this. I don't understand why people always talk about giving away the last hatch or being "merciful".
I personally hate this idea of survivors going hat-in-hand up to the killer and begging them not to kill them, just as much as I dislike the idea of killers being "benevolent".
There are times when people can cooperate in this game (like if it's basically over and the killer is leading you around so you can both get more bloodpoints etc) but I personally don't want to be any killer's pet*. If someone really wanted to be merciful they wouldn't close the hatch or they'd walk off into the wilderness somewhere while you make a 'daring' escape. If someone really wants to be generous in the game, they won't just hand something on a platter to you, they'll do it in a way that you'll never know.
(*except huntress. She could pet my head any day. Or just sing to me, I'm not picky 🤣)
I disagree with the take here and this is just my reasoning - playing as solo survivor for many hours per day, the games are very unbalanced. It’s not the killers fault, it’s matchmaking. Off peak hours the teams are almost always a mix of new and experienced survivors. So most games I enter into with a weak team making terrible plays and/or just quitting early and so get many, many bad games and losses. On top of the bad matchmaking, add in a large percentage of hard camping and tunnelling killers or nurse/blight, there is a very large amount of awful games. So honestly, yeah, it is asking for some mercy when you walk up to a killer after hours of being ######### on. That goes back to the original question… it’s like solo survivors get ######### on so hard… but they keep at it… and then sometimes in those clear situations where you think maybe the killer will just let me have a non-miserable experience and feel sort of good about the game and the people playing it instead of just hating it… they just kill me and I was just wondering… ffs why? Lol. Anyhow, I appreciate the insight and hope that I am giving at least some insight into the survivor experience as well.
-
These are a lot of reasonable answers. I appreciate the input. I’ll try to be less pissed at killers that kill me in this circumstance going forward.

Usually it’s because I don’t have the energy to go look for the hatch
This is another thing though… If the killer decides to be ‘nice’ the unspoken rule seems to be: Down the survivor then carry them around looking for the hatch but if the survivor struggles they get hooked. If you’re going to be merciful just walk up to the survivor, swing or otherwise let them know you wont kill them, and then just let them find the hatch. But…. I’m guessing a lot of dipshit survivors try to take advantage in those situations and run around looking for chests and totems and wasting time… so yeah. I guess i get this.

Good morning and thanks for the thoughts. Those chains usually do spawn in threes. But for some reason last night after I broke the last and tried to solve they came back before I could get going again. I broke them and moved into nearby nooks to start over and it just kept happening. I completely agree with the post that the chains should not spawn on the person doing the box. It’s unnecessary. Have a good one all…
