Way to completely miss the point of my post. I stand by my post. If you cannot handle a bad start, then don't q and ruin it for everyone else. Also, I was not aware that shadowborn, agitation, pain res and lethal pursuer was OP and "not fair". Pray tell, what would be "playing fair"?

Point not missed. You just choose to ignore my point.

  • Considering one of the most common builds in this game is a camping bubba and the devs could give a damn about it, I guess farewell. There’s like 100+ ways for killers to play like toxic a-holes which affect every survivor player in the game. All survivors can do is get better at looping and using flashlights. Oh, and we can teabag. LOL. DEVS LOVE KILLERS. Period.

  • Gee… A Blight Main is wondering why all the suiciding…. This has been addressed by me and many others for maybe a year at least. Here’s my short reply:

Stop Playing Blight. Stop playing all OP builds and play something fair. Stop acting like every game is vs a sweaty swf when the fact is most games are against poorly matched solo teams. Play fair. Take some losses. Slowly the quitting may improve.

  • Yeah you guys can continue without me. I’ve made my position clear. I can’t respond to everyone that twists my words. It’s too much… Bye.

That just sounds like "blanket wreck what makes a Killer good". It doesn't even address what can actually be a problem in practice (effectively endless power uptime and exposed hits combined).

No. Why do you need to exaggerate? If nurse is too fast, then adjust her being able to go from A to B in 1.2 secs to 1 second. See how it goes. If it’s too much, adjust it to 1.1. I mean… why is it so complicated? I realize you want to maintain the mechanics and feel of the killer so this does that. If Blight can turn x degrees in x seconds then adjust that by some small amount to make it less strong. This isn’t rocket science. But the devs take so GD long to do anything we over talk this stuff.

  • Last comment on my game… I was the first down and that started the shitshow. So blaming me or my skills doesn’t apply. This is irrelevant. All this example speaks to is that bad matchmaking is a reality and Blight is well equipped to capitalize on that. I went down because I was near the player being chased and he diverted on his final impact to give me the surprise one hit. I shouldn’t have even mentioned it because it’s anecdotal. Everyone can say “I lost to a blight this one game” or “I beat a blight this one game”. This isn’t important. It’s the big picture. What are we seeing overall, over time, and thousands of games…. And this is that Nurse and Blight are too strong. People are quitting these games and this is a root cause of the current DC / Quit problem.

if you didn't make 1 generator for a12 hooks, it only means that you play very badly,

Well, if you don't repair generators, then even if you have 9999 lives, you still lose

(and there is no even the strongest killer with 9999999 hours in the game for pestilence, purely physically, would not have time to kill you until you made at least 1 generator, so the problem is in your skills)

See, this post is so ill informed…. 2 people downed early and when you try to help you get downed. He’s got 1 hit and he’s not hooking and since he keeps downing people going for saves everyone is in the same small area. He’s bouncing off all the trees and slaughtering everyone. It’s not MY skills. It’s a combination of bad matchmaking and an OPAF killer.

Ok, so let me ask you, how would YOU fix blight? What nerf would be enough to accomplish what you believe in while keeping him viable. What happened to billy should not happen to any killer.

I think the community thinks in terms of specific recommendations and I don’t have those. My recommendations are more general… He’s too fast and too maneuverable so that needs to change. I don’t know the specific turn angles and speeds etc he has. But christ… just crank them down a bit. Why can’t we keep this stuff simple? Like Nurse… why not just make the speed of her blink a little slower and/or the recharge a little slower? Why take months/years figuring out some complicated adjustments to addons, mechanics… whatever… just slow some ######### down.

maybe if the survivors didn't cry for every killer then we would have more than 2 viable killers in the game and then you would not play so often against 1 killer?

Ok, gonna be snarky here but… Maybe if you took the time to get good at the ‘non-viable’ killers in the game you wouldn’t need to rely on the 2 OPAF killers to give you easy wins.

Again… it seems like killers act like they are facing killer 4 man swfs all day long and are in such misery that they NEED nurse and blight to just get a win. This is utter hogwash and everyone knows it. Killer players have become accustomed to winning. They get 3-4ks all day long and they don’t want it to end. That’s the story.

My first game today: Blight on Coal Tower. Lethal, Agi, IF, Deerstalker. Iri Blight tag, Alchemists Ring. P47. He slugged everyone. 4k. 0 gens done.

  • I do feel we're at an impasse. I think most agree that everything should be balanced but it isn't there yet. I believe that we seem to be heading toward an unrealistic target of 'making solos as strong as swfs' so we can leave strong killers alone to appease killers. The goal should be balance, whether its strengthening or weakening is irrelevant. But it aggravates me and boggles my mind that BHVR chooses to balance to outliers and disregard the huge majority of their player base.

Thanks to the Trapper that also made a great point I wanted to bring up. There is a similar argument, and it's been made before by many, I've seen prominent streamers say it as well, that any killer can 4k consistently. I think this is true but I'm also not opposed to strengthening the lowest performing ones.

Finally to the people that 'contributed' by just labelling it all as complaining and not putting the time in to get better, and the 'where does it stop?' group. I'd ask you to just open your eyes and look at the state of the game. Nurse and Blight WAY overperform vs solo teams. Games end quickly because one person almost always quits early because the game is hopeless. When no one quits, the game ends quickly because it's mostly hopeless. You can't disregard the complaints. You can't say 'we cant keep changing things' just because you like the status quo. That's life. Things need to be fixed all the time. It never ends. But sometimes those changes, when done right, result in longer periods of stability and happiness. BHVR has done a terrible job with Nurse and Blight IMO and the survivor community has been responding by ending games on their own terms. That's a fact, and we should take an open minded, informed approach to fixing it.

I agree to an extent. But my main issue with going that route is it leaves the strong SWF’s unchecked. I am a firm defender that you cannot penalize players for playing with friends, it just isn’t right. So if we can’t nerf SWF, and we nerf the ONLY killers that can put a fighting chance against strong SWF’s then they are going to completely run the game even more than they already do.

A billy is still getting wrecked by decent survivors. Pre nerf billy was fantastic. I believe oni needs a buff for early game, as all you have to do is pre drop and starve him of an early hit. Wesker is in a pretty balanced place. I think spirit is addon dependent. Dredge is ehh. His anti loop is laughable at times.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when you say you play with no addons and 1 perk at times… and you lost at least once to a swf that way…. It seems to me that you probably play that way versus solos successfully most of the time and that occasionally you probably beat good swfs with that build. So when you said earlier that only certain addons need to be adjusted… that doesn’t jibe. Clearly if you can win pretty regularly with no actual perks or addons, you would probably do fine with a weaker Blight but with perks and addons. It would take getting used to but you’d probably adjust and do fine. I mean I understand the desire to not have your favorite killer nerfed but I also think people need to be honest and fair and just maybe admit that these killers are too strong and, though it wouldn’t be fun for them, they could adjust if they were tweaked down in strength.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3331761#Comment_3331761

Ok, but I have 1000 hours in blight… Of course I’m going to stomp many of the teams I come across when I go full load out and addons. Anybody who puts that amount of time into a single skill is going to be good at it.

BUT, majority of players are NOT on a 1,000 Hour blight main level.

While you say blight is too strong and is stomping teams, what about the people who main Freddy? Or pig? Or trapper? All the other killers that get bullied and BM’d all day by even SOLO Q lobbies. Because it happens. I do it all the time when I play survivor. How is that being spoiled?

Well, but this adds another piece to the puzzle. It’s killer vs survivors. Killers are SUPPOSED TO BE roughly all equivalent. Different powers and play styles, but all are supposed to be about the same strength. And I think you agree whatever this strength level is, it should match fairly against survivor teams. So, my argument is that, since solo is not getting any stronger, we need to bring the strongest killers down. For the sake of argument, I think Billy is one of the most balanced. A great player can wreck a team but he has limits to his turning, etc that can be accounted for but not always beaten. Oni is strong but fair. Wesker, Dredge… there are lots of solid killers that aren’t as OP as Nurse and Blight. I think Spirit is much more fair since the nerf. I would be fine with buffing some of the weakest killers to these levels. But making everything Nurse/Blight level? That’s insane.

  • @HugTechLover said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3331696#Comment_3331696

That’s the issue. When does it stop? What killer would be next? There’s always gonna be a “best killer.” So what’s the end of the line? When all killers have sh*t powers and addons? All killers are equal with trapper only without traps?

Sorry, this “it never ends” argument is simply the cry of people who prefer leaving things as-is because they benefit from things as they are. Base it on kill rates vs solos. Everything above 75% gets nerfed. Leave everything else alone.

  • @HugTechLover said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3331690#Comment_3331690

Ok, yes, he is a very strong killer, ONLY if you put the hours in to learn him. So many people try blight, get absolutely bullied and don’t play him again. I have put a large chunk of my playtime into blight (over 1k hours). Blight as he is, is completely balanced. The common ground I will give you, is a couple of his addons could use rework (alch ring & c33).

Many times I will load into a game with no addons, and only shadowborn and it leads to some considerably close games. Last night I had a SWF 4 man out against me addonless. His basekit is not OPAF as you say.

But dude… do you realize what you’re saying? You dumb the game down for yourself for fun. And mention getting beat by a 4 man swf, but only playing him without addons and 1 perk. Winning is like just a fact. You have the luxury of experimenting with occasionally losing. I put tons of hours into the game but MY daily experience is struggling to find ways to have fun while constantly losing. You (and by extension most killers who have put the time in to be good or better) are spoiled AF.

  • Sorry but saying Blight has a lot of weaknesses is overstating it. Just stick to the basic facts: He is top 2 along with Nurse. They are the ones that can beat the best 4 man swfs. That says it all. Average and above Blights and Nurses destroy solo teams all day long. It’s so common that people quit as soon as they recognize the killer is Blight or Nurse. These are simple facts. It’s not ‘survivor entitlement’. It’s loss fatigue. It’s people like me that recognize that as much experience and skill that they have, they still get beat handily over and over by these 2 killers all the time. They are simply TOO strong. And as stated, it’s because of this consideration toward beating the top swfs, which isn’t fair for non-top-swfs, and shows a killer bias.(Why aren’t things balanced so solo teams can handle the strongest killers?). I don’t blame my teammates when they quit these games early. I understand. It’s just part of the game now.

These survivor HUD changes… cool. They help us know what’s going on but again, lets not overstate their impact. I can see 3 teammates not on gens. I can’t say, “hey guys… some gen pressure?” We can’t communicate to each other what we see or suggested actions… It’s just extra helpful info. No way is this little spritz of water going to stop the garbage fire of solo queue. We can’t bring solo queue up to the level where Nurse/Blight matches are fair. Not unless maybe… we get 2x more players in the game and skew matchmaking toward accuracy vs speed. Since this isn’t going to happen, we need things to lighten up and these killers to not be so insanely strong. So yeah… maybe this would mean you get stomped by killer swfs on those rare occasions you face them. You’d have to learn to deal with it. Solo survivors have had to accept loss as the norm for a very long time now. We lose the majority of our games. We’re kind of tired of it. Make things fair BHVR.

Dude… let meeeee breaaaakkkk it dowwwnnnnn.

Buff all killers to be able to handle strong SWF’s…

Buff solo Q to be on par with a strong SWF.

I play survivor just as much as killer. The entitlement is baby survivors like you asking for killer nerfs because you get outplayed and don’t like not being able to bully the killer. Tell me I’m wrong.

You’re wrong. 10k hours is just outside the range for baby survivor. And I don’t give af about bullying killers. I like tough but fair games. The hard fought ones that end in 2ks are great. The problem is Nurse and Blight games are always 3-4ks. Mostly 4ks. Now let me spell it out for you:

It’s not about increasing everything. It’s about balance. If you’re advocating making solo queue as strong as swf, then theoretically you could just make swf as weak as solo queue. If you could do that then you could nerf certain killers to make things more of a 50% win ratio, by level. The reason I tend to call for nerfs is because your proposal will NEVER HAPPEN. Solo queue will never be as strong as SWF so we need to stop acting like it can be and thus leaving killer balanced to your rare killer SWF. But in the interest of finding common ground… if your proposal COULD work, sure. I’d be all for it, because it’s simple proposing to make everything fair which should end up at a 50% win ratio balanced by level. I’m saying the same thing but saying that solo queue is the variable that needs to be accounted for much more seriously. You can’t jsut make it stronger and leave everything else as-is. You’re going to have to make some things weaker and bring things down to solo queue level.

Again, skill issue. Every killer should be brought to the strength of blight. He and nurse are the only viable killers that can keep up with a really good group of survivors. Even then, it’s sometimes not enough.

It is mind - numbingly obvious you haven’t touched blight, or even killer for that matter. You can’t speak on the matter unless you put a good amount of hours into both roles.

No. You bring up the same old flawed reasoning. One side needs to be strong enough to beat the small % of outliers on the other side. It’s indefensible. If killers have to be strong enough to beat the small % of killer swfs then they are OPAF vs the MAJORITY of teams. Get it?? And why wouldn’t it be just as fair in reverse?? All survivor teams need to be strong enough to beat the best killers. That’s the GD same thing. Imagine the uproar and outrage if your average group of solos actually had an even chance vs a Blight or Nurse. Lofl. You killers live in such a world of entitlement and delusion and BHVR will never wake you up because it works for them.

  • @HugTechLover said:

yawn…. skill issue. He is far from unbeatable in chase. If y’all had your way, you’d have no killers stronger than trapper. Y’all want easy games.

“Y’all want easy games”. LOL. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. No you entitled Blight Main. We want an actual balanced game vs whatever BS this is. If mid to high tier Blight and Nurse don’t have an 80% or higher win rate vs solos I will shut up and leave these forums.

  • Bring out the killer mains to defend their posh life. Face it: some killers are balanced but 2 and 3 ks aren’t acceptable to your egos. You must play the OPAF killers so you can go entire days without a single loss. DBD Killer remains the easiest gig in gaming.

  • Franklins + Sloppy Butcher. I think it’s just mean to take away people’s items. Especially making it so they can’t heal themselves.

Hubris + Enduring + Spirit Fury. Pretty much guaranteed downs. Annoying.

Distressing + Coulrophobia + Unnerving Presence. Another anti-heal build that is just annoying af.

Plaything + Pentimento. Time suck build.

Devour Hope + Anything. Get a lucky totem and win the game. Yes. That’s how this game should be.

  • The idea that people ‘preferred’ this skill check wiggle system is beyond belief. I think a lot of people tried the beta and just left it there figuring we’d be switching. Then BHVR says “hey everyone used it so they must prefer it”. I think if they actually took a vote now: ‘New or Old’, Old would win.

  • Newsflash: there’s is only one solution. Basekit unbreakable.

  • Lord. If you are actually leaving suggestions to use Unbreakable or Exponential… at least thanks for letting me know who to ignore. If those were sufficient they wouldn’t be making it basekit now would they?

  • From the 20 or so games I’ve used it in the past couple days, Huntress is the main issue. A common build has Lethal, BBQ, and then 1 or 2 others like Bitter Murmur, NTH, AA… and shes tricky to recharge with.

  • Good feedback.

No, it shows that I'm either being baited or am arguing with someone who is arguing for the sake of arguing. There are few things less productive than bickering over semantics on the internet, and we've basically been doing that for a while now. I've honestly lost track of even what your point is for a while now.

If you want to get back to that...fine. We were talking about SBMM versus RBMM and whether the game is better today than in 2017 overall. Otherwise, I'm just wasting my time.

    I’m a 10k hr survivor main.

Firstly, I doubt it. Secondly...so? As a wise man once said - 'my bum has been a bum for a long time, but it doesn't mean it ever says anything worthwhile'. Playing the game for a long time does not make you automatically correct.

It just might mean you've been wrong for longer.

You can’t tell me I’m wrong about the games I play every day.

No. But I can tell you when your logic is wrong, or you have a bad opinion.

The game is balanced to swf

As it should be. Because the alternative would be massively unfair to killers. Survivors can choose to play solo or in an SWF, killers can't.

    Most games (~85-90%) are solo

I'd have to dig up the post, but if I recall the stat that BHVR gave, this is untrue.

Matchmaking is awful and RARELY creates an all high mmr team

    Objection, your Honor. Speculation.

Broken killers and builds destroy solo teams (Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Perma Mike, Coxcomb Wraith + Indoor map, etc

Broken SWFs and builds destroy killers. Yes, this game is not perfectly balanced, but you can't talk about balance on one side without looking at the other. Nurse is getting nerfed, and she's on the radar. Blight will almost certainly be next. Spirit...meh. Outside from one addon combination (which has been bugged for a while now) - are people still moaning about her? Myers needs a rework, sure. Wraith...no.

Camp/Tunnel playstyle destroys solo teams (with bad matchmaking pushes gens correctly)

With bad...what? No, I don't get your meaning here at all.

Hit validation is gone so we still get downed even though killer gets pallet stunned

And? Latency cuts both ways. I'll get pallet stunned from a meter away, or whiff a hit because the survivor isn't where the screen is telling me they are.

Various survivor gameplay issues seem to be acceptable to devs (same button for closet/vault on console, constant ‘failed skill checks’ giving away position without failing a skill check. Just stopping an interaction.)

    *Laughs sadly in killer*.

    • Console control issues are something else entirely. And, again, cut both ways.
    • I've literally never seen that issue. Can you link a video or something?

“with bad matchmaking no one pushes gens correctly”. Was the correct verbiage.

It’s pretty sad but also indicative of why I need to not waste my time in these forums. You didn’t respond to any point with a logical counterpoint. It was all some variation of “no, you’re wrong. I can say what I want”. I could give a crap if you believe my hours or not. All my points about the game are patently obvious to anyone that plays a lot of solo survivor. I’m not wasting anymore time on talking to brick walls. You can take pleasure in knowing I won’t respond to you anymore. You made the short list of forum folks i won’t waste my time with.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3323234#Comment_3323234

Yeah, we're in semantics now. Which is why I'm not going to bother going further on those things, especially since you keep shifting goalposts.

I will say that Ayrun did...I think a 34 escape streak in solo queue? It's nowhere near as bad as folks make out.

“It’s nowhere near as bad as folks make out”. That’s an ill informed and incorrect statement. You are just wrong. I’m a 10k hr survivor main. 95% solo. In short, the game has gone from about 80% fun / 20% awful to 80% awful / 20% fun. You can’t tell me I’m wrong about the games I play every day. It’s pretty simple to understand. You can’t argue with these points:

    • The game is balanced to swf
    • Most games (~85-90%) are solo
    • Matchmaking is awful and RARELY creates an all high mmr team
    • DCs and Quits are common
    • Broken killers and builds destroy solo teams (Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Perma Mike, Coxcomb Wraith + Indoor map, etc
    • Camp/Tunnel playstyle destroys solo teams (with bad matchmaking no one pushes gens correctly)
    • Hit validation is gone so we still get downed even though killer gets pallet stunned
    • Various survivor gameplay issues seem to be acceptable to devs (same button for closet/vault on console, constant ‘failed skill checks’ giving away position without failing a skill check. Just stopping an interaction.)

I’m anxious to see how the new changes work but doubtful they’ll solve the problem.

  • Oh and also a black version. I’d pay double for that.

  • A couple other points you killers need to consider:

    1. You accept the fact that survivors make the decision sometimes to quit when no gens are done but there are like 5+ hooks against them. They are identifying what they consider to be a lost game and acting on it. Some people are making that decision earlier than others. Usually because of an OP situation that they reasonably expect is a loss.
    2. I have had literally hundreds of post game interactions with killers and even a discussion on this forum about why killers give the hatch or door so rarely in certain situations that would seem to suggest a little sportsmanship (teammates quit, teammates being toxic or useless, etc). The overwhelming response was that they didn’t want to waste the time. They wanted to just move on to the next game. So… IOW, they have decided it’s ok to take advantage of an unfair situation and hook screwed over, helpless survivors (often that walk up to them and just basically turn themselves over to their mercy) because it’s more convenient for them to not waste the time being sportsmanlike. This happens ALL DAY LONG. So maybe think about how that compares to survivors that don’t want to deal with an unfair situation and so do what’s best for them.

    I didn’t say ‘don’t try to win’

    Uh-huh

If you want to reduce the quitting stop playing those OP killers and builds.

So...We CAN try to win, just not too hard? Do we need to ask for a list of SurvivorApproved(tm) perks and Killers to use? Or is it in my most recent Survivor Handbook For Killers (132354th Ed.)?

Accept that anyone who DCs is the only one at fault, and stop expecting your opponents to 'stop trying' while Survivors bring 16 META perks and SWF with voice comms.

It's not the Killer's fault you DC, hun. It's yours.

Just giving you a heads up that I’m not even going to bother responding to you. You don’t understand and I’m not wasting my time. I’m quitting. ; )

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/361470/since-when-was-playing-the-games-you-queued-up-for-a-controversial-ask

    Yeah.

I've been testing some theories recently, and there's no difference in quitter rate between games where I play Trapper and games where I play Nurse, or games where I bring a flan and games when I bring a mori.

The only thing that makes a difference is 'are we winning?'.

I've had people DC because they went down for the first time...at 1 gen left, and I've got 1 hook on everyone else.

Yeah sorry. I don’t believe your “testing”. There is zero chance that quitting is just as high for Trapper as Nurse or Blight. ZERO. Re: Flan or Mori… I don’t think anyone bases whether they stay or quit on that. No one really cares.

You guys offer no solutions based on reality

Meanwhile, your solution is "Stop using your strongest perks to make your opponents (who will bring BNPs, 16 META perks, and be in SWFS, btw) bring whatever they want. And if you don; you're to blame for Survivors quitting." As if THAT is a realistic solution.

And before you try to say 'No I did not':

I’m suggesting you take matters into your own hands and self-correct the game by making it fairer for survivors by not playing your strongest stuff.

Youa re literally telling Killers "Stop trying so hard, or it's your fault we DC!" I can't make this up. You are saying Killers trying to win are at fault for Survivors rage-quitting. Hilarious!

I was unaware I have to stop trying so my opponents stop DCing. Does that work in reverse?

Survivors like you need to take your own advice and

take some responsibility for their role in all the quitting

It’s always disappointing to engage with people on these forums that just twist words to try to win a debate rather than actually solve a problem. You all KNOW what I’m saying but you want to skew it to make it look like something else. I didn’t say ‘don’t try to win’. I said you need to recognize that the game is unfair for the vast majority of survivors when the most OP killers and builds are used. This is responsible for the majority of quitting. If you want to reduce the quitting stop playing those OP killers and builds. Play a killer that is more challenging to win with. If you’re a good killer you’ll still do fine but probably not 4k 80-90% of the time.

”OMG!!!! DO something I don’t HAVE to do, that would make the game more difficult??? OMG You are stupid and insane!!” There. I answered for some of you.

So Killers should have to stop using perks Survivors hate, or Survivors have carte blanche to ragequit? Is THAT your stance?

Sounds like someone is projecting the blame.

No. I’m dealing with the reality of this game and suggesting that the solution requires that killers take some responsibility for their role in all the quitting. Stop playing the OPAF stuff. Am I suggesting killers do something they don’t want to do? Yes. Is it a reasonable solution that would probably reduce quitting? Yes. Games are not fair for solo survivors. Most games (90%) are solos or a 2 man swf. Solos vs the OPAF stuff described almost ALWAYS LOSE. What’s the killer proposal? Suck it up and keep losing so we can keep winning our easy games. You guys offer no solutions based on reality. You just whine about the quitters and want harsher penalties. Anything to keep the game as it is. I’m suggesting you take matters into your own hands and self-correct the game by making it fairer for survivors by not playing your strongest stuff. Try it for a week. I guarantee if you stick with it you’ll get longer, more enjoyable games with less quitting.

I am quite frankly in a state of total disbelief that you of all people would take umbrage with this post.

Oh I made peace with quitters long ago because I understand them. The game is insanely unfair and broken for solo survivors. You load into a game and hear a nurse. Then you see someone go down inside of 20 seconds. Then another 20 secs after that. Bad teammate? Strong Nurse? Both? Regardless, you know what you’re likely in for: yet another slaughter because some guy felt like playing the strongest killer in the game with a great build. Or You see someone downed by a Bubba early while you’re running Kindred. You see him hook and then guard him while your teammates slowly walk toward the hook and stand there trying to figure out what to do. Game lost. You have any idea how common these 2 scenarios are???? And when people quit these situations THEY are the problem??? No. The killer who wanted to play that OP build that solo teams will almost ALWAYS LOSE AGAINST caused those quits.

    Title.

My memory might not be what it used to be, granted, but I don't remember the last time just asking you to stay in the match you queued up in a multiplayer game for was an unpopular thing to do. Not when the game was hilariously more broken, or more unfun, or when the REALLY stupid stuff wasn't fixed and everyone was pulling out 1 gen hatch escapes and old Ruindying or old Spirit or old Moris or anything like that.

I don't remember people having such a consensus it was their god-given right to suicide on hook the absolute moment something went slightly wrong for them. Or that asking them to not have the ability to circumvent the DC penalty that we ostensibly have for an actual reason is a breach of moral conduct.

I risk sounding a little bit heartless when I say this, but I really don't care if you stop having fun in the middle of the match. I honestly don't.

You queued up for a game of Dead by Daylight. You, apparently, know what you're playing. You know what to expect. You know what could go wrong. You may, even, have made peace with the fact that something you might not like could happen. Like, say, losing.

In this game with no backfills and DC penalties that we ostensibly have for an actual reason, I have the controversial opinion that, as an adult (hopefully), you should have the self-responsibility to know what you actually want to do and what you're okay with happening when you do things with other people.

If you don't, and you demand people open the door for you on the way out the millisecond something you don't like happens, you demonstrate that you have the self-governing skills of an actual child who can't be responsible for their own actions and doesn't care about how much of their own and everyone else's time they waste as long as they don't have to actually commit to something.

It's the 'ol shopping cart test. We apparently can't make you do anything at any sort of inconvenience to yourself unless we literally force you to.

Is this a long and silly and overly-serious rant about a video game that doesn't matter? Absolutely. But the mindset behind this silly and unimportant action is what crinkles my crundle. That you apparently can't and won't be responsible for yourself.

    Anyway funny silly rant over.

Think about this: YOU KNOW what makes players quit. I’ll spell it out anyway: OP builds, cheap killer play, bad teammates. This is probably 80% of the reason for quits. I’ll say the other 20% is being petulant because they got found early or didn’t like the map or didnt want to face their 5th Wesker in a row… So about that 80%, and getting back to the fact that YOU KNOW this is why players quit… if killers want to minimize quits:

    • Stop loading into games with OPAF builds (Nurse, Blight, your “magic build” on other killers where you run your map and the best perks and addons that make you damn near invincible)
    • Stop running lethal pursuer with an extreme mobility killer that downs someone in seconds and then steamrolls with BBQ or whatever
    • Stop camping and tunnelling and ruining peoples games because you want to be as oppressive as possible vs a team that is likely a bunch of mismatched solos already at a disadvantage.

Solo survivors are sick of being reamed sideways because killer players are getting spoon fed wins. How easy is it to find survivors now? Every killer has access to like 100 aura perks and addons. How many killers have extreme mobility? How many have “magic builds” where they’re pretty much guaranteed a win? Killers have 100 ways to 1 hit now and slow down gens and find survivors, often simultaneously with one perk doing multiple things. Meanwhile any concept of survivor stealth is GONE. It’s all just about running and trying to get gens done fast which is damn near impossible with OP extreme mobility killers running aura perks and gen slow downs vs a ragtag team of mismatched survivors.

Solo survivors play as one post above described: they join hoping for a fun game. But when faced with OP BS and/or horrible teammates they often leave and move on to try and find a fairer match. So take some responsibility and play fair. BHVR isn’t going to do anything to help the situation so try looking at how YOU contribute and change THAT and see what happens.

Because we want our mercy acknowledged. There's a difference between a Survivor accepting our grace and letting us take you to the hatch, and a survivor wiggling free, running to the hatch like they got one over you, teabagging, and dropping a GGEZ in endgame chat.

See, that whole thing is stupid. If you pick someone up and then just move side to side or stand there, they know you’re being merciful. Then we can wiggle out and get out faster than being carried around. This ‘rule’ about not wiggling is just a power trip

  • Is it just time or is this post confusing af? A post about aura reading and then you go on about survivors finding trapper and hag traps effortlessly… (how exactly? They took that from us by nerfing Small Game)… Pig and Dredge stealth being weak because they can see the direction you go before activating… Pig activating what? Crouch? If you see her go into stealth that’s her problem… part of being a stealth killer is knowing how to be stealthy… And Dredge teleports and has a full minute of near total darkness… so we see the direction he heads in the first second of darkness?? What?? Trickster and Deathslinger are in no way stealth killers and ######### does this have to do with auras?

The only aura problem in this game is that every killer has multiple aura-based ways of easily finding survivors. It’s ridiculous. And then there’s legion , doc, nemesis and Wesker who also have killer instinct, etc. How many killers have aura addons that basically give them unloseable games? Wraith, Michael, Pig… Demo and Plague have strong af ones too. Killers complain Sadako’s stealth is weak but yeah… she can teleport and gets a massive speed boost. She can’t have awesome stealth too. And don’t get me started on the 100 ways to give any killer 1 hit… I honestly don’t know ######### satisfaction killers get out of this game and why Behaviour just keeps coddling them. Nearly every game a spoon fed win where they get twice the points of any survivor and the false veneer of fairness so they can argue they won fairly due to skill… it’s just fng insane.

  • Actually, maybe I missed the Event bonus? Maybe the base 38 was like base 30 + a 7k event bonus, So maybe I did get the 30 x 5 then plus 7…. That could be it. I’ll watch a few more scoreboards….

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Sorry but isn't 38 + 38 x 3 = 155? You got the initial 38k + the 38k from the incentive plus the 114000 (around) from the offerings which put's you at around the total of 155k.

Alternativly you have your 38k being increased by 312% from the offering's giving you around 118K + the 38k from the incentive bonus. which would put you around 156K.

Btw i belive the incentive multiplier is additive and not multiplicative (Like the bloodhunt/bloodrush bonus), going by that the incentive is working as intended.

Your math is wrong. 38 base. +38 for survivor incentive + 38x3 for 3 100% offerings. So I should have gotten roughly 38x5 = 190.

You can't camp with knight's power. Anyone unhooking during a hunt will make the guard dissapeared

Really? Wow. You should tell that to everyone camping with him. I guess the memo didn’t get to you….

  • Just do what everyone else is doing… play him like a camping bubba. All anyone does with Knight is hook, then face camp the hook with a guard buddy as backup. It’s ridiculously stupid and cheap but killers don’t seem to have a problem with that if it gets them a 3-4k.

  • Killer is more work but less difficult to win. Survivor is less but much more difficult to win. Killers seem to confuse the concepts of work and difficulty. Killer is like having to manually mow a football field. It takes a long time and a lot of work but it’s an easy task. You will not fail to mow the football field. A killer has to put in the work to find and kill the survivors but he will most likely get a 3-4k.

  • I define winning as 3 teammates escaping, whether I die or not. I’d say during peak hours (slightly better matchmaking) my win rate is about 15-20%. Off peak hours its mostly worse, like 10% but then I occasionally get stretches of bad killers which will net a few wins. The game is just horrendous for solo survivors. And killer players just pile on with OP killers, builds, and cheap tactics like camping and tunnelling. They need their 4k to believe they’re good so even if a solo team starts winning they turn up the camping/tunnelling and turn that game around. And of course they will slug the 3rd to find the 4th… Killers are a pretty sad lot mostly.

  • Yeah I don’t respond a lot in my own threads because no one posts a legit argument. Most responses just ignore key components of my point and/or use logical fallacies. Case in point, the many many of you who continue to try to compare OP killer play with 4 man swfs, totally ignoring the % of each. It totally destroys your point. There’s no equivalence. But that doesn’t stop you from making the same irrelevant posts over and over again.

    • The game is very imbalanced for killers vs solos (and logically, even worse for OP killers and OP builds vs solos)
    • The vast majority of games are vs solos (90% are solo or 2 man swf)
    • Matchmaking is awful

So ignoring low level play, average + solo players are constantly teamed with weak teammates already creating an unfair game. People who play OP killers and builds (again, excluding noob and low level play), knowing full well that they are mostly playing solo teams, are just taking advantage of a broken system to go out and play games that they win all the time to make themselves feel good and have fun at the expense of solo survivors. You know you’re doing this. You just don’t care because you CAN do it. You all hide behind the “that’s the game I’m allowed to play” part and wash your hands of it. I think you all live in this half-fantasy where… maybe I’m winning so much because I am so damn good at this game… so you act like it’s fair and ok and matchmaking isn’t that bad, and it’s all balanced… as you win 80%+ of your games and completely ignore the other side constantly losing.

Well, no. Plenty of us have noticed and complained but nothing gets done so whatever. I play for the few games I can escape or make fun plays and sometimes when I get fed up I post here to try to improve things for me and all my fellow solo survivors. So yeah… I’m sorry if you’re a low level killer and you still get beat up by solo teams. Trust me, that changes with time. Once you get good at a killer, especially an OP one, you will rarely lose.

  • So… HugTechLover… you evidently didn’t read what I said and I’m not spoon feeding it to you.

And some of you may not want to elevate it to that level because you’re uncomfortable with it, but the way you behave IS a moral issue. If you cheat, that’s a moral decision. If you decide to take advantage of an unfair situation to your benefit, yeah… you’re making that moral decision.

  • Hey… here’s the ‘fun’ killer I just played with:

A bubba. Got into a snowman a couple times. If you walked up to him he just hit you or came after you with the chainsaw. When we tried to walk around in snowmen on just do a gen and see if he’d leave us alone he just slaughtered us. What a hoot! Such good fun….

  • And for the 1000th time: IT IS NOT BOTH SIDES. 4 man swfs are 5% of matches. You can’t compare killers dealing with 4 man swfs 5% of the time to solo survivors dealing with this stuff most of the time.

And to clarify “most of the time”: I’d say 80% of games have bad matchmaking, 30% have very strong or OP killers (Nurse, Blight, Spirit), 50% have the killer running a very strong or OP build (midwich + auras + stealth, or any strong killer running their ultra strong build like rusty shackles hag, tombstone piece Meyers, etc) and minimum 50% involve excessive camping/tunnelling. So almost every game I play has one of these things going on… I’d say roughly 90% of my games are pretty much ass because of one or more of the above.

  • Yeah, if you don’t get it, you don’t get it. Just because it’s a ‘heady’ argument doesn’t mean it’s wrong. There are 2 parts here: 1) The system is broken. BHVR’s fault. WIll take FOREVER to change, if ever. (I don’t believe they will ever fix it). 2) Killers take advantage of the system. The killer player’s fault. This can be affected right now. Both are to blame.

It’s like playing a game where for some reason the rule was: One side always gets the option of wearing a hat and if you wear a hat you win all the time. The other side has no such option. Then you say “I just like wearing the hat. Get over it. You can’t shame me for liking hats!”. Garbage. You just want the unfair advantage. That’s why you play OP killers, builds, and use the cheap tactics.

  • Exactly what is there to do to ‘have fun’ in this event? You can get inside the useless snowmen and do absolutely nothing. That’s it. Any fun to be had has to come from killers and survivors just mutually agreeing to be non toxic and lighten up. This is probably the worst event yet. Nothing at all new or fun or special
