It's an odd feeling, but if I haven't booted up the game in a hot minute, I'll get the jitters in lobby. I guess I'd chalk it up to the amount of focus and knowledge the game can sometimes ask. A lot of people will scoff at that idea, but being able to identify when a survivor is baiting for a dead hard based off body language (does that term even apply in this context) can be extremely difficult and game deciding depending on how good the survivor is. Even beyond that, trying to properly keep gens, pressure Survs, deplete resources, end chases quick, it's a hard game sometimes, we all know the drill.
In a 1 v 4, it can feel easy to feel ganged up on, especially if you get bmed in match or in chat afterwards, but it is just a game at the end of the day. My jitters usually fade pretty fast, some around when I get into the rhythm of the first chase.
I think it's that same aspect that makes the game so rewarding sometimes. Trying to retroactively track the three other survivors while you're in chase with one, counting the amount of time it took to complete a gen to determine whether it was a double attack or toolbox. It can straight up feel like goddamn spider sense when you catch a survivor trying to flashlight save based off vibes alone. I guess the stress of it is what makes it fun, is what I'm getting at.

Certain polling I've seen places Slender as incredibly popular in terms of requests. While he's probably the hardest character to imagine slotting into the killer role mechanically, I would love to see the devs take on the challenge eventually.
Many have said the IP would be counted out because of the unfortunate real world attack, which is ultimately up to the developers, but in my eyes, there have been crimes committed in the name of a lot of the IP's on the roster, Slenderman shouldn't be much different.
Which version of Slender do you think they'd go for? I like Marble Hornets as the basis for a chapter the most.
-
Hopefully the Walking Dead Survs even things out soon, even if that's still a month or so away.
-
I hope you're the best you can be given your circumstances. Suicide is one of the most heart wrenching experiences to be around, losing someone so close to you to it simply sounds horrifying. This community isn't traditionally known for its kindness, but your sister was one of us. Rest in peace.
-
It's just kinda unfun imo. Spirit is often a mini game of cat and mouse for both killer and survivor, and Cherry Blossom stops a lot of that interaction for "nah she touched you brah, that's a hit."
Not having Scratch Marks, while being a much needed downside for the effect, also bottlenecks the Spirit into relying solely on that playstyle and Killer Instinct to get the down.
-
We'll be getting our first 2 survivors no killer chapter soon, so that does open the door for more in that style. Supernatural seems like one of the more consistent requests over the years, so I could totally see them going for it.
-
He also has an ancient tome in his chest and is literally purple. Following his dismemberment and being thrown off his tower, Vecna was at his literal lowest power. While it might've made sense for the Entity to take him then, we know that isn't what ended up happening.
The version of Vecna we have in DBD is a new design, but the DND one still has a hand and eye.
He is the lesser god of secrets after all. It's entirely within his power to recreate his body.

Witch hunts are bad but so is making us vs them comments and putting them in the loading screens.
An us vs them statement is something like "killer players always say x" or "survivor players or always act Y" because it lumps an entire group into an opinion or playstyle when in reality, players think and act all sorts of ways.
A dev saying they dislike SM doesn't pit survivors against her, it's just a vfx artist saying they don't like her.
-
Genuinely aggravating that people can't just chill and realize this is a videogame. Tracking somebody down just to send trash to them because you don't like a loading screen tip is exactly why the devs keep a ten foot pole between them and the community.
When every attempt to be unserious and have fun is demonized and met with vitriol, why are these same players complaining that they don't feel as passionate about the game anymore?

Yes, if you want to play in a very specific Map you would need a lot of Map Offerings. For your example it would be an average of 15 Map Offerings needed to get on the Freddy-map.
But I think the preference system you propose is not really a good idea. I can potentially really limit the Map Pool for the game, because it might happen that up to 15 maps can be on "disliked", which would still leave quite a bunch of Maps, but overall it can lower the experience. Also it would make it harder for the Killer to get a Map they would prefer, since most killer-sided Maps will be on the "disliked"-Section for the Survivors and this can be up to 12 maps.
In general, I dont think that it is bad that you end up on a Map you dont like or even a Map where your Killer is outright bad or where you will have a hard time against a Killer. This is totally fine. I also think that 100% Map Offerings were completely fine, because the issue was always the Maps itself and those should have changed. There is no problem with slightly killer-sided or slightly survivor-sided Maps and there is no problem with guaranteeing a specific Map. It was just the extend of the advantage, which was the issue and this is still present.
Yeah tbh I'm not really a fan of my own idea looking back. The nature of a 1v4 game would mean a killer's preferences would either be outvoted or it'd be weighed so their vote would be worth more than a survivor, which kinda defeats the point of giving everyone a say in the map prior. Especially since it would just be the same 5-8 maps that get disliked and thus become unreasonably rare.

The invisibility only lasts for 1 second and I can still hear him coming out of the door, unless you're playing in the living room without a headset on your console, really, but this bug is really harmless
I wouldn't call it harmless but tbh it does feel like the bug is being blown out of proportion. Springtrap is meant to be a killer that has you always tracking his whereabouts and checking your corners. He can be hard to react to, but I feel both playing as him and against him that he isn't reaching the upper echelon of the killer casts abilities in any way. There are killers better at range than him, killers with more immediate and longer lasting stealth than him, killers with better and more reliable map mobility than him.
Even in the buggy state he's currently in, I wouldn't say he's problematic gameplay wise (not mentioning the audio bug but I think that's been patched??)
-
Yeah honestly I hate how the current system works. Say in the future I want to get on the Freddy's map and bring ichorous loam to try getting it, now I have a 20% chance to get a 33% chance to get onto it? Honestly just bloodweb clutter at that point.
I think a solution could be a preference system that unlocks after a certain milestone is reached (maybe 3 characters prestieged) allowing players to simply select a set of maps they like, and maps they dislike. Each player loads into the lobby, and the game picks a map that hopefully lines up with player preferences. Would everyone always get what they want? No, but it make certain maps rarer or more frequent based on lobby consensus, whilst still giving each player a certain degree of control.
Alternatively or in addition to the previous thought, maybe just let a player suggest a map before the trial begins, and if the killer and two or more survivors agree, pick it? Might lead to DC's, but it isn't like people already do that on maps they don't like.
-
I'm glad more and more people are using it. It's one of the best way to learn Gen spawns and gets the nastiest of 3gens out of the way the fastest. I think the player base is better off with it in the higher usage rates.

Spies From The Shadows my beloved! <3
Saved me so many games over the years, it's one of my main info perks on half the roster lmao
-
Spies from the Shadows, Predator, Thrilling Tremors, Miscellaneous 4th perk. The three I've found all give Springtrap a pretty decent sense of low-key information that a lot of survivors don't expect and let's you catch them at the most vital times. Thrilling also works for some slowdown and you can tack whatever you want on at the end.
Spies is just in general an extremely underrated perk imo. Crows will just straight up snitch on a survivor right behind you and then ping someone else randomly on a gen halfway across the map five seconds later.
-
Hope they patch this out entirely. New players must feel awful dying early in chase and getting told they're sandbagging in a game with one of the worst tutorial and skill curve experiences out there.
-
Yes, Springtrap got some less than ideal changes therefore BHVR decided they hate him and will slowly tear him to shreds whilst I am forced to watch.
Can we just...chill? SM was the most hated killer that ever touched this game in a way that can't be easily replicated, while I completely understand being upset with how BHVR handled her (it was loosey goosey and led to a character people spent money on being gutted), it's not like the most requested killer in Springtrap is about to get orbit nerfed, especially considering most already consider him to be in a relatively good place, which can't be said for any of SM's previous iterations (aside from I think 2.0 which had some fans).
While I don't like some of the add-on nerfs and the Haywire change is genuinely baffling, people are so quick to say "Is this the next Skull Merchant??" that it genuinely leaves me wondering if a lot of the people saying it were even here that long ago.
-
NOO NOT INTO THE PIT
IT BURNS
-
I've gotten a false warning after being tunneled out early already. It wouldn't have been so annoying if it wasn't so obvious what had actually happened (he literally sat in the door next to hook then followed me off as Meg sprint bursted away). Makes me worried for the new players who joined this chapter.
-
Honestly I'd take a Baron of Hell or some other band of Doom demons as a killer. Without DoomGuy it would sell the idea Doom enemies would be nightmare scenarios for basically anyone but him. Besides, Pinky's and Cacodemons are probably some of the most common hell designs in public conscience, I think it'd fit like a glove in DBD.
-
Tbh the statement Mcote made this time felt very similar to the last time they spoke on F13, and it kinda doesn't feel like what he says is accurate? Jason Universe is working, there is no one else suddenly jumping in and claiming they own the franchise.
Honestly, it sounded off in a way that makes me think Jason is in the pipeline and they can't say it. The 10th anniversary has gotta be massive and I can't imagine who else would top the most requested licence in FNAF aside from Mr horror himself Jason Voorhees.
-
I just don't see why Vader. I know Dracula and Vecna are God scale and could pretty effortlessly decimate the regular human, but Darth Vader well and truly just isn't a character I can imagine getting looped around a wooden board for 3 minutes without frustratingly choking the survivor to death out of spite. At least Wesker is the most iconic representation of RE's corporate despotism and was pulling the strings since the first game, Vader being in DBD would only be for 'Star Wars BIG we are crossover we should get BIGGER'.
In a world where F13 is more on the table than it's ever been, and the licence holders for stuff like Predator are already in the game, I just sorta want those.
-
My wallet will be empty after the FNAF cosmetics drop. Even if the power isn't everything I wanted and the map building is smaller than I would've liked, this is still the fantasy that popped into my head at 10 years old when I saw Halloween get announced, and wondered if they'd get other horror franchises involved. 2025 is shaping up to be one of the crazier years in recent memory.
-
Ennard would be my choice, although Baby would also be a cool sequel chapter. Sister Location was sort of FNAF's second wave after the classic quadriology wrapped up, so I think it makes sense that's where they would return too.
Honestly though, I'm perfectly fine with what we currently have now. This is fantastic.
-
Before Curtain Call was announced the common response from the devs for not having a Clown killer in game was that people with an intense fear of them wouldn't be able to play (the actual reason was Star breeze wouldn't let BHVR), but then they added Clown and literally gave him a perk called Coulrophobia.
Weirdest thing to me is, doesn't the Entity totally kinda already touch on Arachnophobia? I mean, it's a bunch of disembodied appendages that look extremely spider like. They touch on it in the tweet, but like that doesn't really change anything?
Honestly just kinda feels like BHVR just wants a reason to not add a spider killer and maybe snag a few brownie points while announcing it, but idk I feel kinda pompous making a statement like that in confidence.

Nah, respectfully as the consumer, gimmie more.
If you want me to commit time to consuming art (books, TV, Movies, Games) Then chisel it into something I'd like tp consume. Gimmie More.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "worse in the past." Last I checked, the blood web and it's piecemeal approach to leveling has been the same since launch? At least thats how its been for me? lol I dont know. I just dont bother anymore. Its slow watching it go by. Sorry for the necroBloodweb is similar to how it was at launch in the same way you can consider drinking cyanide similar to water. They might be clear odorless liquids, but there's a mountain of differences.

Just play Ghoul or Wesker with vault perks/addons. Fixed.
"Just limit yourself to 2 of the 40 killers in game because they have vault abilities and focus half your build on clearing windows for this one specific map."
I feel like this post is either sarcastic and I'm making a fool of myself by taking it seriously, or it's outwardly conceding these windows are far stronger than should be but somehow thinks killer players dumping 80% of the roster is a more reasonable solution than just changing the map.
-
Dvarka Deepwood already set the Precedent for a realm having an offering for each map, but Forgotten Ruins I believe still just uses Borgo's offering despite having the DnD license.
I do hope we get an offering for it since after the changes, it'll be hard to guarantee getting onto any map, much less one that can send you to three different places.
-
Might just be recency bias, but I love all the little references with Springtrap. Sometimes crossing over the lobby screen the way he would in FNAF 3, the way he's animated as both dead in suit and live as the robot (makes me really wanna see the Lillard Skin), the way half his lines are taken from the nightmare animatronics (heavily lending credence to the idea they repeat what he said to his victims), and my personal favorite "The darkest pits of hell are open for business" as a reminder that after all the pain and violence he caused, there wasn't any punishment waiting for him at the bottom, but instead a promotion.
-
I honestly wish the mori was more subtle and perhaps even obscured. Rather than a bare endo (shreddy), I thought it would've been cool if it was instead the other Springlock suit, Golden Freddy.
Afton could shove them in, mockingly smack on the mask, and watch as they combust internally, before slumping dead to the floor and either staying to twitch and unnerve fellow survivors, or being shrouded by fog and later despawning.
I don't really like how exaggerated the concept is in game. The movie did it as well where the endos are built to look like death machines, when before it was framed as a brutal machinery malfunction where metal parts pincushion the person from all sides, forcing a metal skeleton where your regular one was. I think the above image and in game Mori kinda suffer from trying too hard to be cool and messing with a simple execution.
-
Good from the lens of base game players getting some solid perks universal, but it's a shame this confirms we'll likely never Pinhead and the rest of the Cenobites come out of the box again. At least those that were here can still enjoy him.
-
In terms of strength, he's good but not game breaking imo, which is the ideal place to be.
He's one of the few ranged killers with a proper movement ability, and while the axe is pretty hard to master on its own, it has some pretty solid utility with the haste and break speed addon.
I hope they rework an addon into disabling the axe in exchange for massively boosting the undetectable he gets from doors, like the green badge, but dialed up to the point using cameras to reveal his position would be an essential mechanic. Sort of a consolation prize for the people who don't like the axe.
-
Kinda does just feel like they said "well some of you wanted an axe" and then looked at Huntress cause she was popular.
Tbh, I'm just glad the power works, the map looks fantastic, and Springtrap himself animates and sounds perfect. Not what I would've made the power, but it's where we're at, unfortunately.
-
The Fire axe derives initially from the Living Tombstone's FNAF 3 fan song. Its relationship with DBD involves a fan chapter concept from 4 or so years ago that got a ton of traction, and the idea spiraled into it being a pretty popular request among certain FNAF fans to be made real. It seems the devs handled the inclusion by basing his travel power around FNAF iconography and mechanics and then honing the main power in on the ranged axe since Huntress is already one of the most safe and popular killer designs out there.
Personally, I would've preferred no axe and all in on a stealth/travel power, maybe even taking an addon that removed it for some big boon, but this isn't awful either.
-
These changes do worry me. I feel like Vecna was in a stable and working state, and such large scale adjustments could very easily throw him off, whether it's making some spells feel bad to use, some magic items being much stronger than others (already kinda a problem tbh), or just making him too weak or too strong in general.
-
It's hard to say, sometimes DBD can honestly feel like a shaky tower of cards held together by spaghetti code, love, blood, and dreams.
There's been more added than ever before, but it kinda feels like power creep leaves you simply playing a different game depending on how up to date the killer or map is. Comparing someone like Trapper to Vecna, you can really feel the years of changing design philosophy between them. In all fairness, there's been some solid QoL, especially in the past few months, so I can't really imagine going back.
Still, in terms of monetization and how the games direction will change going forward, I can't deny I'm worried DBD will end up losing its identity (although people will endlessly debate over whether it already has)
-
I was hoping they'd put Cameras on gens to mimic the flip up and down mechanic in classic FNAF. Either watch your back normally or try to find Springtrap on cams and risk a surprise attack. I would call that moreso an extension of the main objective, but if they instead make the camera system a separate interactable then he could fall into some of the pitfalls of other side objective killers.
Still, there's always gonna be someone who puts a Xeno turret somewhere utterly useless then complains about the mechanic instead of learning it, so that's probably bound to happen no matter what.
-
He has something resembling a power now, so at least there's that. Any hope there was for Robert England is gone and that kinda sucks the fun outta things, but tbf it was always a pipedream.
To play against he can feel oppressive, but it's also easy sometimes to get to a clock and make it feel like Sharp Hand Joe never left. Playing him at least now feels like there's a lot you can do that other killers usually wouldn't, and sleep was made a status that actually feels unique to have and face.
Overall, they changed an f tier release into a C- tier character imo. A poor fate for a legend, but it's at least better than he was before, however low that bar may be.
-
It can be a bit much sometimes, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't cherish the time I've spent with this game.
-
I really hope the anticheat gets some proper tlc. It'd be a shame to go another 9 years with the current trainwreck that requires everything but the kitchen sink working right to function.

Oh, so now you're intentionally being abrasive because I annoyed you? Nice to know you’re taking this whole thing as some personal vendetta, but alright, go ahead and keep digging that hole.
Honestly, I don’t give a damn if you enjoy FNAF. I’m not the one here trying to start drama over it. You’re the one who decided to turn this into some petty back-and-forth. I’m just here making my point, and somehow, you’ve taken it as an invitation to turn everything into a personal attack.
And claiming you’re being "mature" by acting this way? That’s laughable. If that’s your idea of maturity, I’m not sure you fully understand what it means. It’s not clever, it’s not insightful—it’s just you trying to make yourself feel better while playing the victim.
If you’re “done” with this conversation, maybe you should actually stop replying. No one’s forcing you to keep going. You’re going to PAX, huh? Well, go enjoy it. Maybe some time with actual people who know how to engage in real conversations will do you some good. But hey, that's just my two cents.
Nah you stop replying first now I'm petty lol
Edit: Only took 10 posts, but I think he might've realized I don't wanna talk to him. Thank Entity.
Edit Edit: I gotta be real, coming back to this Convo feels real cathartic.

Well, I don’t know how to break this to you, but calling someone "juvenile" for pointing out that your tone might be a bit abrasive isn’t exactly mature either. If anything, it feels more like a deflection than an actual attempt to engage in any sort of meaningful back-and-forth.
You’re right that you’ve been consistent in your enthusiasm for FNAF, and that’s great—there’s nothing wrong with being excited about a chapter. But acting like anyone who doesn’t share your blind enthusiasm is automatically "whining" or "attacking" you? Yeah, that’s where things get ridiculous. Maybe it’s not that people disagree with you, but how you seem to handle disagreement like it’s some personal offense.
You can keep labeling people as juvenile and claiming your tone is the only valid one, but here’s a thought: maybe it's the way you're presenting yourself that's making the conversation unnecessarily combative. It’s almost like you’re looking for an argument and then pretending you're just being "excited." That doesn’t come off as just enthusiasm—it comes off as condescending, and it gets old fast.
But hey, keep thinking it’s all about the other person being "juvenile" while you keep throwing around insults disguised as "friendly jabs." If you can’t see how that’s part of the problem, then I don’t think you’re ready for an actual discussion, and that’s perfectly fine. Keep riding that high horse if it makes you feel better.
Dude let me put this in plain English. I'm intentionally being abrasive because you annoyed me in our very first interaction. I don't know how you've managed to escape that fact, I'm not trying to hide it.
I don't care if you dislike Five Nights at Freddies, do that that all you want. Your attempts to make me feel bad for enjoying the series are falling on wholly deaf ears, and I'm not interested in hearing anything you have to say because you have failed to convince me you've spent more than 2 words a second actually thinking about anything you type.
To belittle myself as much as possible to make my point crystal clear, my issue isn't that you're badmouthing my precious and beloved Freddy Fazbear, my issue is that you've seemed to decide I want to get a notification and talk to you about how much you dislike him. So please and kindly, as the mature adult that you clearly want to be and clearly don't think I am, go talk to anyone that isn't me. Is that statement lost in translation? Do you want to talk to me about the abrasiveness in my tone?
I'm going to Pax bro, this ain't worth it.

Alright, I see what you're trying to do here—throwing around that 'faux niceness' like it’s some kind of get-out-of-jail-free card. But let’s be real, your initial comment wasn’t a 'thought grenade.' It was a weak attempt at elevating FNAF by trying to undermine DBD with some half-baked comparison. 'FNAF has bears, DBD has depth'? Really? That’s the best you’ve got? If that’s what you’re calling an intellectual debate, I hate to break it to you, but you're out of your depth.
Look, we all know FNAF has a certain charm for some people, but trying to make it out as some kind of deep, meaningful horror experience when it’s mostly just cheap jump scares and animatronics is, frankly, laughable. DBD has spent years developing complex mechanics, characters, and lore that actually contribute to its depth, and you’re here trying to act like they’re somehow on the same level? Please.
And don’t act like you're above critique just because you're 'excited' about the crossover. If you drop a comment that’s essentially baiting for a debate, you can’t get mad when someone calls you out on it. The whole 'if this were Candyman or F13' line is pure deflection—it's just another attempt to make FNAF seem more serious than it is. If you honestly think anyone would’ve cared as much about this crossover if it weren’t for the FNAF fandom’s overzealous hype machine, you’re deluding yourself.
Let’s not pretend this isn’t about you being defensive because you know deep down that FNAF doesn’t exactly measure up in the same way as other licensed horror IPs in DBD. Instead of getting all worked up and acting like a victim, maybe take a step back and realize that a little bit of mockery isn’t the end of the world. You want respect? Maybe stop treating everyone who doesn’t share your enthusiasm like they’re some kind of villain just because they don’t worship FNAF the way you do.
"Maybe stop treating everyone who doesn’t share your enthusiasm like they’re some kind of villain just because they don’t worship FNAF the way you do."
Bro you replied to me lmao. Look through my posts, I've had plenty of FNAF discussions and my tune hasn't changed an ounce. It's fine if you don't like FNAF, idk why you expect me to sit here and listen to you whine about it. I made a simple statement about being excited for a chapter, the fact you think that "invites debate" and somehow think making 'friendly' jabs which are just kinda insults at every turn is effective communication makes me think you're honestly way too juvenile to be here lmao
I'm not backing down on this bro, your manners are the issue, not you disliking the bear lol

So now we’re just memeing? Got it. Look, if you drop a comment that’s basically a call to arms for a debate, don’t be shocked when someone picks up the sword and starts swinging. You can’t casually toss in your opinion, throw in a little jab, and then expect people to just smile and nod like it’s all sunshine and rainbows.
I get it, you didn’t ask for a debate. But here's the thing – if you toss a little thought grenade into the conversation, it's bound to go off. I wasn’t trying to pull a full-on intellectual heist, I just couldn’t help but engage with the spicy little morsel you threw out there.
But sure, if you want to keep it light and just memeing, that’s fine. But don’t act surprised when someone’s not just laughing along but actually biting back with more than just a chuckle. If you're gonna "meme" your way through a discussion, you have to accept that some of us will treat it like the Olympics and show up with actual responses instead of just one-liners.
Mate, please stop with this. Trying to educate other people on etiquette and whatever this faux niceness is trying to accomplish. Your first comment even beyond the 'jab' is just FNAF has bear, DBD has depth. Forgive me, but that wasn't really what I would call a thought grenade before the intellectual heist.
"Look, if you drop a comment that’s basically a call to arms for a debate, don’t be shocked when someone picks up the sword and starts swinging." Can I quote you when I say "please spare me?" Since apparently that's an appropriate way to start a discussion.
This wasn't a call to arms for a debate, and if this was F13 or Candyman or any other licence I guarantee you wouldn't have batted an eye at it. My point has been the same since my first reply to you and even the one serious comment I made in response to Op, which if you had just replied to in the beginning we probably actually could have discussed FNAF in a meaningful capacity. My point, condensed down to its most meaningful grievance, is that the annoying FNAF fan stereotype (which trust me I know there are a ton of them out there) is often applied to people who have to done nothing to warrant it.
With all that in mind, can you see how me getting a comment that's mocking in nature in response to me literally just being excited about the chapter is inherently confirming my bias? Like, can you blame me for not taking this seriously after that? You gotta do a lot more than be insulting to elicit a discussion.

I see we’re still circling the same drain. You're right, I started with a playful jab about "Chuck E. Cheese simulator" — which, let’s be honest, was an attempt at humor — but I didn’t think it would spiral into a multi-paragraph defense of your beloved FNAF. Yet here we are, with a whole dissertation that still hasn’t actually addressed any of the points I raised.
You’re still fixating on the delivery instead of the content. Look, I get it — you don’t like being called out on the actual flaws in FNAF’s history. But instead of talking about how the franchise built its reputation — full of cringe-worthy moments and questionable decisions — you’re focusing on how quickly I typed and how many words I wrote. This is the equivalent of calling out someone's handwriting speed when they're pointing out the flaws in your argument. It’s cute, really, but it's not exactly the win you think it is.
You’re also really hung up on me typing fast. Like, honestly, is that the best comeback you’ve got? I’m here trying to engage in actual discussion, and you’re still stuck on my pace of response. Sure, I may have fired off a quick response, but you’re more concerned with the speed than the fact that I’m actually engaging with the topic. And guess what? I’m not angry — I’m just calling out the flaws in the logic you keep trying to deflect from. If you actually wanted to debate, you’d tackle the issues, not deflect to word count or typing speed. But hey, keep up the deflection game. It’s working wonders.
Also, nice flex on “Springtrap in 3 weeks,” but all I hear is “I’m hoping my favorite animatronic gets added into the game so I can ignore the criticisms that have been part of the franchise for years." You act like this killer release is some sort of mic drop. News flash: it doesn’t change the history of the franchise or the patterns that fans seem to ignore. So go ahead, keep clinging to the "I’ll get Springtrap soon!" line, but it’s not gonna erase the valid points I made about the series’ history or how it’s been handled in the gaming community.
I get it, you’re excited about your new killer, but your personal excitement doesn’t invalidate the larger conversation. This isn’t about who's getting a new character. It’s about addressing the shortcomings, and if you don’t want to engage with that, then just say so. But throwing in distractions, deflecting, and focusing on everything except the discussion — that's the real "peak DBD mentality" right there.
"You're excitement doesn't invalidate the larger conversation, like how I should be able to call you a child when you express joy in something and then you should consider me an intellectual equal and engage me in debate."
Did I sum that up right? The issue with your "engage the discussion" type beat is that quite literally, I didn't ask for nor at any point wanted to debate this with you. You just seemed to think you could justify your rudeness by throwing text you thought up in a microsecond, and if you well and truly are wondering why I only respond to a sentence or so and keep ignoring the rest, it's because I'm literally not reading it.
Do you see where we're at here? Do you see how I'm telling you this isn't a discussion? Do you see how this is just me meming while you write whatever this is?

Ah, here we go again — just a constant stream of distractions and weak attempts at downplaying the substance of what’s being said. First off, nice try with the “word count analysis” but you’re missing the forest for the trees. The fact that you keep focusing on the speed of my response rather than the actual content of it just proves that you're scrambling to avoid the real points I’m making. Keep deflecting, it’s adorable.
Let me break it down for you since you seem to be missing the point: this isn’t about how fast I typed, or how many words I managed to string together in a short amount of time. You’re deflecting because you know you’re not addressing the actual discussion. It’s clear that you're just upset because I pointed out some very real flaws in FNAF’s history, and instead of engaging with that, you're throwing in petty remarks about “hurr durr FNAF bad.” That’s not what I said, but nice try with the oversimplification to avoid facing the facts.
And really, you’re going with the “I’m mad because I’m typing fast” thing? That’s the best you’ve got? If anything, it sounds like you’re projecting because I’m actually engaging with the conversation while you’re just here throwing around “I’m getting Springtrap in 3 weeks” like that somehow negates the valid criticisms of FNAF’s reputation. Spoiler alert: It doesn’t. The fact that you’re using a killer release date as some sort of comeback just shows how desperate you are to end this with some kind of victory, no matter how hollow it is.
You can keep telling yourself "stay mad" all you want, but honestly, I’m not the one who’s avoiding the conversation. I’m not the one using distractions to sidestep the real issues at hand. If you actually cared about discussing the topic, you’d respond to the points I made instead of just attacking me personally.
But hey, if “Springtrap in 3 weeks” is the only argument you’ve got left, then go ahead. I’ll be over here, still calling out the obvious flaws in your franchise while you chase after the next shiny object.
So go ahead, “stay mad” — because I’ll be over here with the real conversation.
The funniest thing is everything you accuse me of I have had extremely productive conversations about, you just seem to think acting like a 4 year old and insulting me constantly is the best way to get what you want. I'm not missing the 'forest for the trees' in a response from a guy who started his interaction with me by saying "FNAF fans really think a haunted Chuck E. Cheese simulator belongs in Dead by Daylight. Bro, Freddy Fazbear gets clapped by a security door. Meanwhile, my guy The Blight is out here folding survivors at Mach 3. Stay in the pizzeria"
Like bro, you ain't a poet and this isn't a discussion. This was you insulting me, being mad I gave you pushback, and then just throwing a tidal wave of text at me cause you're mad. Just try this on a person in your day to day, say "stay in the pizzeria, you Chucky Cheese simulator toddler" and then "yeah no bro of course you don't submit to my superior reasoning and logic" after throwing 3 college assignments worth of text within 15 minutes.
This is some peak DBD mentality right here.

Oh, look at that — another diversion and a whole lot of deflection. Nice try. You’re right, I did type a lot, but at least I’m actually engaging with the points rather than trying to dance around the conversation. It’s cute you’re trying to downplay the time I spent crafting a response, but here’s the thing: It’s not about how long I spent writing. It’s about the fact that you’re trying to downplay a real discussion with sarcastic quips and some random word count analysis. That’s the level we’re at, huh?
And oh, now you’re pulling the "I never said that" card. Classic move. But come on, you said exactly what you meant. You did argue the "adult nature" of the collab as if that’s the sole argument that negates everything people have said about FNAF’s history. That’s not how it works. You can’t just conveniently ignore the series’ entire trajectory just because of one chapter.
Now, back to your point about “non-FNAF fans” being just as annoying — I’m not sure why that even matters in this context. Just because some non-FNAF fans can be obnoxious doesn’t erase the fact that FNAF’s history has been overwhelmingly dominated by kids and immature behavior. You’re trying to position yourself as the rational voice of the FNAF fandom, but it sounds more like you’re just playing defense because someone dared to call out your precious franchise.
And let's talk about that “superiority complex” accusation you threw in. You’re missing the point entirely. This is about the culture FNAF has built over the years. This isn’t just about you being excited for the chapter. You came at me with a defensive tone, throwing in unnecessary details about how long I spent responding — that just shows you’re more interested in trying to win an argument with petty distractions than engaging with the actual content.
If you want to debate FNAF’s place in horror culture, fine, we can. But when you resort to sidestepping the actual discussion and attacking the person on the other side, that just proves that maybe you’re the one who’s uncomfortable with being called out. And let’s be real, that “excited for the chapter” comment is basically you trying to wrap everything in a shiny bow and act like the whole FNAF franchise is above reproach. It’s not.
So, no, I’m not buying your line about “adults now” or “non-FNAF fans being just as annoying.” I’m still here, talking facts. So whenever you’re ready to actually respond to what I said instead of dodging and weaving, let’s get back to it.
"The time I spent crafting a response" You didn't spend time on anything bro lmao
This comment has 431 words, it was written within 180 seconds of my last post. You don't care what I have to say, and this isn't and never was a discussion. This was you insulting me cause "hurr durr FNAF bad" and now you're just letting your subconscious spew whatever faster than any reasonable human would have to spell check cause you're mad. So, stay mad lol I'm getting Springtrap in 3 weeks.

Oh, so now I’m the one who’s “sensitive” because my opinion hurt you? Cute. But seriously, let’s break this down, because there’s a lot going on here.
First off, it’s not just about "what you like is bad and what I like is good." That's a lazy way to dismiss a discussion that actually has substance, even if you don’t like the points being made. I’m pointing out that FNAF's place in horror has been historically tainted by its obsession with jump scares and a very vocal, young fanbase that somehow took over the discourse. That’s not a stigma, it’s just basic facts — the series started as a “spooky” game that kids latched onto because it was flashy and easily consumable. The “adult nature” of the new Springtrap chapter doesn’t magically erase years of the franchise being a kids' phenomenon. It’s nice that you’re finally getting some "adult" representation, but it’s a little too late to claim FNAF is all grown up now. The damage was done long before this collab happened.
And I love the projection here, like, “You wrote this in advance because my opinion hurt you!” Nah, I’m not the one scrambling to defend FNAF every time someone dares to call it what it is. The fact that you’re so eager to brush off criticism of the series with “we’re getting a killer and a map” shows a complete lack of understanding of the broader conversation. That’s not an argument. It’s like saying, “I’m right because I get a prize.” Cute, but let’s focus on substance over shiny objects. The “adult nature” of the collab doesn’t magically fix the brand’s overall image that was built around kids.
Now, let’s talk about Naughty Bear — you’re seriously trying to take a comedic game about a bear doing random stuff and compare it to DBD’s killers, which are grounded in actual horror lore? That’s the comparison you choose? That’s a desperate reach, my friend. Yeah, maybe Naughty Bear is irrelevant now, but the point was to show that FNAF wasn’t the first horror character with quirky behavior and a meme-worthy persona. So, the “FNAF is unique!” argument falls flat when you realize this has been done before, and done better by other franchises.
As for the teenage fanbase — I wasn’t bashing kids enjoying FNAF. I’m pointing out that the majority of the fandom has been young, loud, and often cringe-worthy, which has shaped the series’ reputation. Don’t even try to argue that it’s been all “mature fans” when FNAF’s meme culture is so inextricably linked to a younger audience. You can’t just ignore that and act like it's all grown-ups now. The history is clear: kids played it, kids made it explode, and kids dominated the discourse for years. Sorry if that’s inconvenient for you, but it doesn’t just disappear because of one killer and map.
At the end of the day, it’s not about “hurting feelings.” It’s about being realistic about where the franchise stands and calling out the flaws that have kept it from being taken seriously in the wider horror community. So keep pretending it’s all “adults now” if it makes you feel better, but I’m not buying it.
To start. You wrote this post in 4 minutes, which is 240 seconds and this comment has 535 words. I think I struck a nerve, and I think you'll be happy to report I spent less time paying attention to each letter than you did typing them.
"So keep pretending it’s all “adults now” if it makes you feel better, but I’m not buying it." Lmao I never said that. I said nonFnaf fans have a tendency to single out people and insult them for no reason whilst being just as annoying as the ones that were annoying in the FNAF community. You not only did you not respond to that comment initially, you instead went after the one where I simply said I was excited about the chapter, which basically proved my point the moment you tried to pull this superiority complex out on me.

Oh, please, spare me. Just because you were 8 years old when you first got into FNAF doesn't magically erase the fact that it’s been a major children’s franchise. It’s not about the age of the fanbase (though, let's not pretend FNAF didn't blow up with kids), it’s about the reputation it built in the gaming and horror communities, especially with the questionable decisions in the fanbase’s behavior. You want to argue that adults enjoy FNAF? Sure, I'll give you that — but let's not ignore the giant sea of cringey, overenthusiastic kids that constantly flood the community. The “adult audience” is definitely there, but let’s be real — the dominant voice of the fandom has always been teens and younger players who can't get enough of the "spooky animatronics" and jump scares.
And yes, DnD and Castlevania are classics that had their roots in older, more mature themes, and they also didn't become the mainstream phenomenon they are today due to their mass appeal to kids. FNAF didn’t have that same kind of gravitas. I’m not bending reality to fit a narrative, I’m acknowledging the overwhelming influence of children’s media surrounding FNAF, and how it's shaped the entire thing.
You think the FNAF community can be polite? Sure, there are some cool fans, but let’s not pretend there hasn’t been years of toxicity (and not just in the Hellraiser era, but well after) — the constant spamming of fan art, weird theories, and overhyped nonsense got old real fast. You’re literally defending a community that's infamous for making anything remotely critical about the franchise a target for harassment. Criticism about FNAF? Yeah, get ready to get bombarded with a ton of angry preteens who think you're ruining their childhood. That’s not bending reality; that’s basic online experience with the fandom.
As for “politics” — yeah, that’s a whole other mess, but I won’t even go there. It’s not just about who’s in the FNAF community, it’s about how the fandom responds to criticism and how that reflects on the franchise as a whole. So maybe ease up on pretending the past behavior of the FNAF community doesn’t still linger today.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3925052#Comment_3925052
Oh, so now we’re playing the “FNAF is deep too!” card? Sure, Freddy Fazbear is a murdered 6-year-old — but FNAF’s lore is a confusing mess of time jumps, endless fan theories, and inconsistencies that no one can fully explain. You can throw tragic backstories all day, but at the end of the day, the FNAF timeline is a nightmare of retcons and fan-made explanations that don’t actually make sense. DBD, on the other hand, is consistent, and each killer has a clear, focused story with psychological depth that fits the horror tone. So yeah, don’t try to pretend FNAF’s tragic lore stacks up next to killers like The Trapper or The Nurse when it’s buried under layers of confusion.
As for Springtrap’s "multi-ability", let’s not pretend like that’s some groundbreaking revelation. DBD already has killers with far more complex abilities, and Springtrap just slots in with a few more gimmicks. Really, if you think a character that jumps around with a couple extra powers is somehow setting the world on fire, then you’ve clearly never seen DBD’s roster and the crazy unique powers some of those killers have. The only thing Springtrap is bringing to the table is some cheap nostalgia and a handful of new tricks. That’s it.
And Naughty Bear? Really? Now you’re comparing DBD’s unique killers to a comedy game with a bear running around doing random stuff? Nice try, but Naughty Bear is as relevant as a broken VHS tape at a flea market. Sure, FNAF has soundboards, but don’t act like that’s somehow comparable to the actual terror DBD invokes with its killers. The FNAF animatronics are cheap thrills; DBD killers are nightmares you can’t escape, no matter how many sound clips you spam.
So, yeah, the hypocrisy isn’t lost on me. Maybe FNAF fans should evolve beyond "Oh, it's just a bear with a soundboard," and realize that DBD has far more to offer in terms of horror and depth than animatronics that go boop boop beep.
Preparing this in the seven minutes it took from my last comment is certainly something lmao, but honestly there's literally nothing in this post of substance.
Like bro, this is all just a fancy way of still saying "WHAT YOU LIKE IS BAD!!" and "WHAT I LIKE IS GOOD!!" and since literally everything in this comment isn't even based on logic, rather just saying "if you think FNAF isn't cringe or at the level of other horror" blah blah commonly regurgitated stigma about the series.
Genuinely, idk if you wrote that in advance just cause my opinion hurt you so much, but I'm just saying only one of us is getting a killer and map in a couple weeks, and quite literally, half of your points are wrong due to the Collab we are looking at right now due to its Adult nature lmao.
"Naughty Bear? Really? Now you’re comparing DBD’s unique killers to a comedy game with a bear running around doing random stuff? Nice try, but Naughty Bear is as relevant as a broken VHS tape at a flea market. " Stuff in DBD, isn't relevant to DBD? Y'all will say anythinggggggfff

Dead by Daylight has killers with tragic lore, deep stories, and complex abilities. FNAF has... a bear with a soundboard. I'll pass.
"If this was actually about the behavior and sometimes actual childish actions of the FNAF community, I feel like there might ground to cover; but honestly, you could make the most polite, respectful comment or discussion relating to FNAF and still get bombarded by dislikes and hateful replies."
Like, honestly y'all's tends to blend together after awhile but there's something undeniably funny about this reply in particular cause tbh I'm not even sure you play DBD after reading it.
"DBD has killers with tragic lore and deep stories," Freddy Fazbear is a murdered 6 year old, tragedy is this characters reason for existence. "DBD has killers with complex abilities," Springtrap is already confirmed to have a complicated multi ability. "FNAF has…a bear with a soundboard…I'll pass" so were you just not paying attention to Naughty Bear or is the hypocrisy intentional? Lmao.
