You've seen the news, our patch of fog disperses next month, marking the end of our little subcommunity. I've spent a bit too much time here, waiting for responses, typing out replies, or just reading what you all had to say. Now that it's ending, I honestly feel a little untethered, like a small part of my life was rubbed off a chalk board, but life goes on and on and on, doesn't it? I think we67 comments 1,348 views last activity

While I agree that Shoulder the Burden as a mechanic is healthier when limited to one use per game, I don't like that the perk is functionally useless for every other survivor who brings it into the match. To rectify this, I believe there should be a secondary effect in the event the perk is forced to deactivate without being used. Not a major buff per se, but something like a nice passive would7 comments 213 views last activity

For those unaware, a post from the creator of Marble Hornets, Troy Wagner, was made earlier today on Bluesky. As a childhood fan of Creepypasta's, Slenderman, and the Slenderverse, this is a pretty big disappointment to hear. Marble Hornets may not be the most known IP, but it's unique interpretation of the Operator and characters like Alex, Jay, Hoodie,10 comments 200 views last activity

With the success of RE9 and fond memories of countless hours sunk into RE4 Mercs, the Hunk skin has quickly risen to the top of my most used skins alongside the Springtrap variants and Minotaur. While I love his visual design, the timing of the skin meant it didn't get a lot of the cool alterations legendary skins usually get now. Since the three requests I have are all pretty sizable, it shoul6 comments 261 views last activity

After the Stranger Things return and All Kill Comeback have turned out as solid successes to round out a struggling yet massive year for the a game, the next chapter up is set to continue the trend by being the big 10th Anniversary blitz. When I was 10 and originally caught wind of the DBD alpha on YouTube, I thought to myself "it'd be cool if they could add more than just 1 killer and they had15 comments 901 views last activity

Ever since Nemesis got 2 more zombies added in 2v8, there's been a lot of discussions about how much more present and threatening they feel compared to regular matches, and it's got me thinking. Either made basekit or as a side effect to all the add-ons that affect Zombie speed and Detection rate, what do you think of the idea that Nemesis can get the budget to hire more than his two beloved ass3 comments 111 views last activity

Got out the theaters recently and was pretty impressed with what the film had to offer! Nice soundtrack, solid concept, cool effects, answers without giving too much of the mystery away. Disconnected from the hype and media attention surrounding it, I thought it was a well made movie that built nicely off what little was seen in the game. An increasing amount of posts are being spammed with photos of corpses or worse. At least 4 that I know off. If you are sensitive to seeing real humans in this state, please wait until moderators return soon. I know there are a few posts warning people but it's quickly spreading past being just a "avoid these couple posts" issue and has become a matter of waiting it out. There's been a lot of focus on the issues and changes seen in the most recent PTB, but I wanted to take a bit of a break from them and get back to some good old fashioned Chapter speculation. A lot of the talk I've seen has been about a sequel chapter of some kind, with either Strange Things part 2 and another Vecna headlining it, or a Resident Evil Part 3 featuring Biohazard or Village bent con22 comments 571 views last activity

Not really talking about anything specific, but now more than ever it I can't help but feel like there are a lot of killers that simply aren't in solidly balanced, well designed, non buggy condition. Some are too strong (Nurse, Blight, Ghoul) Some are too weak (Ghostface, Trapper, Skully) Some are buggy (Houndmaster, Drac, Knight) Some can be technically fine but a lot of people don't like p0 comments 91 views last activity

Hello everyone! Hope It's a Happy Holiday for you, it's currently the Morning of New Year's Eve for me. Awhile after the FNAF Collab was announced, we were told to expect more details around New Years. Given the timeframe and generally mysterious nature of this tease, I'm curious to find out what people think is going to be revealed. This might be our first look at a teaser or models, and I am44 comments 1,121 views last activity

A new Slasher Radio interview with Mcote has brought some nerve-wracking news. https://youtu.be/i8_cF5-YDRE?si=PrpWESrhpkI46ao3 At around 17:30 in the video, Mcote talks about the potential issues that might arise around including licensed killers into the 2v8 roster, as two killers side by side could upset certain rights holders. For companies like Capcom and Konami, I i24 comments 1,262 views last activity

The general consensus I tend to see behind why Lights Out wasn't very popular in the community (unlike 2v8 and Chaos Shuffle) is that it didn't tend to offer much replay value or customization to returning players, which I agree with wholeheartedly. In a game like DBD that expects so much time from its players, it needs to provide a varied experience to keep things interesting, and although I rea13 comments 321 views last activity

With such a massive year of licensed content behind us, and another pretty stacked one ahead, I figured this would be an interesting question to ask. In spite of all the speculation we've seen over the years, are there any collaborations you believe will absolutely happen at some point in this game's life? Predator tends to be the easy one to call, and I'm inclined to agree. The devs already hav8 comments 351 views last activity

I kind of hope we get both through the use of skins, but I think the default characters will be from the show since they have more to work with lore wise. As Survivor the frontrunners I could see are Trevor, Simon, Richter, or Alucard depending on the circumstances, but I have a feeling they'll pick between Trevor or Simon for a classic Belmont. What do you think? It'd be funny if we both the12 comments 311 views last activity

With the upcoming release of Vecna, that's soon to be followed by an as of yet unknown licensed survivor, that will then be upped by Castlevania being included (and don't forget the solo licensed killer in March). What do you think is best for the game? Are licenses actually more worth it over regular chapters? Should only the ones considered "big" be focused on? Do you think more new players f52 comments 1,024 views last activity

We're getting DnD, probably a killer and Survivor. In terms of what I know about DnD, it's this or Magic Missile, so what do you think? One or the other? Both? Neither? It could be a perk or killer power, depends how it's designed, and I can't imagine BHVR would reach for something as odd as DnD without intending to try something weird. Rant Start! I know how necessary new updates and content is for live service games, but the latest patch is just another in a mountain of simply bad updates that should've been delayed. Legion 1.0 happened already, Twins 1.0 happened already. BHVR had ample time to realize this update wasn't finished and the precedent set in the past was all the warning they needed not to let the game get to thi20 comments 411 views last activity

I think one thing that would encourage many players (especially newer players) to try some of the lesser seen members of the cast would be to maybe try a scaling blood point slider on how often a killer is seen. Either that or some of the lesser played Killers in the cast could be placed into a pool where each week 3 get swapped in for a bonus and they rotate in and out accordingly. I feel often as if DBD is the most played out when the same Meta has been around for years, and I think at this point the limit is really being reached. A universal meta balance that maybe even occurs annually could do a lot to freshen up the game, and encourage players who have dropped it to maybe circle back if they can expect a different meta when they return later, as of now it just feels lik11 comments 241 views last activity

It's a pretty well known issue at this point that maps often tend to be one of the most disliked parts of modern DBD design, behind maybe matchmaking. The complaint I tend to hear the most being all the clutter added to new and reworked maps, and I can't say I disagree. As Hillbilly it really does suck maneuvering around three Nostromo ship parts only to collide with one you could hardly see cau17 comments 351 views last activity

I think it's important to encourage the devs for more unique spreads of add-ons that don't feel like simple stat buffs or effect appliers, so that more playstyles open up to create more diverse matches. That being said, I think Unknown, Chucky, and Xeno have been pretty good with their add-ons encouraging different ways to play, but I still feel like a lot of killers are mostly just bad iridescen22 comments 391 views last activity

This is primarily a question for killers, but I feel like it definitely applies to survivor too. I feel like most in the community tend to latch onto a specific character and build much of their persona/discussions around them, so I was wondering, how often do you deviate from that character? As killer, I honestly can't really say I have a main at all anymore. I've been playing Chucky the most15 comments 201 views last activity

I'll start. So you know how Unknown has an Addon about a haunted videogame cartridge? And given his nature as a killer inspired by Creepypasta and Analogue Horror, this likely a reference to the large influx of haunted video game stories from the 2000's and 2010's, the biggest of which being those godawful .exe games with Hyperealistic blood and whatnot?40 comments 681 views last activity

There have been hundreds of perks added to the game post launch, and despite this, numerous mechanics have been kept consistent across each trial. Some things I can think of off the top of my head are: -Gen counts (a killer has never been able to functionally add another generator to the count or regress a finished gen) -Hook stages (A survivor has never been able to regress their hook count)22 comments 702 views last activity

Hello again everyone, console player here. Unknown is one of my favorite original killers released in a while. Cool cosmetics, voice lines, personality, lore, etc. The only part about the character I don't jive with at all happens to be the most important part from a gameplay standpoint, their primary ability. UVX sucks for me, I've never been good with Ranged Killers and the precision required9 comments 171 views last activity

I don't have that big an issue with it, but we don't even know what the changes are yet. For all we know they'll just take off the tertiary Freddy effect they almost certainly forgot to remove years ago. It feels like every post discussing meta perks has a whole side discussion over this in the replies, and a lot of the time it's people being mad over something that hasn't happened yet. For being one of the most iconic additions on the roster with some of the most hype I've seen around it when it came out, it feels like the star of the Silent Hill chapter sorta got the short end of the stick. I won't even cover his addons in this post, since I think everyone knows basically everything but the range ones are mostly useless. His power is the main thing I take issue with, as it3 comments 91 views last activity

Often times a big thing newer and intermediate level players struggle with is map variations and pallet spawns. Each new map only exacerbates this issue, no matter how easy to learn they might be. It can be extremely daunting for new players to be thrown around from map to map without ever getting the sense they're comfortable enough with their knowledge of each individual layout. Hello everyone, I want to play a game where Pig gets the music she rightfully deserves. With her upcoming buffs, I feel like now would be the best time to mention something like this. Pig gets much more love than a lot of the other licenced cast, getting multiple fresh cosmetics, a tome, and the Saw Chapter tends to be one of the few BHVR consistently advertises even years after it's launch. A secondary power that could boil to something as simple as "Become Undetectable during X Period of Time" would give him: All the advantages that come with being a stealth killer, mainly surprise and ambush attacks. He would save time on Chase which gives him more opportunities to pick up and reset Traps. He gets more chances to place Traps without survivors noticing, which leaves more room fo0 comments 41 views last activity

Just a had a pretty strange one myself. Played duos with a friend I'm trying to show the ropes. Our experiences are pretty different since I've been playing this game for seven years (help) and she takes showers, but things are going pretty alright. She's oddly good at looping despite not having like anything else down. We get a few wins and a few losses, nothing special. The weird part? All of0 comments 31 views last activity

Got a little curious and tried it out a few times tonight. Overall, despite neither Sabo Builds nor Background Player builds being the best options out of the lot, I feel like they compliment each other wayyyyy more than a lot of people give it credit for. It can very often deny a killer a hook immediately, which can easily screw them over at the right moments at stop you from getting hit on the5 comments 881 views last activity

It feels like there's a lot of negativity around here, so why don't we all share something fun that reminds us why we keep playing? It could be a survivor escape, Killer play, silly hijinks, etc. Anything so long as it put a smile on your face. My story is from a Wesker match I had a few days back. I'd just managed to find and kill the best survivor on the team as the final gen popped. Using Ft19 comments 271 views last activity

I think it's kinda weird that most of the game's playerbase is generally considered unable to play a lot of the ranged cast at higher levels because of console controls making aiming difficult. Now, this issue has been in the game since Huntress, so I think we've all sorta just internalized that it's how things are, but does it really have to be that way? Surely, there's something that could be d29 comments 531 views last activity

It was a cool idea for a game and to have some form of it in DBD would make for a really unique original chapter. I know the amount of people who remember the game is me and the guy in the mirror, but I feel like the inclusion would be a neat homage to BHVR'S other attempts at an Asymmetrical horror game. What do you guys think?1 comments 31 views last activity

The current meta really just revolves around "how fast can I do x" and "how much time can I waste for the other side." It isn't all that interesting. I feel like even when perks like Ruin and NOED were really OP, they at least brought something different to the match (find the totem before gens, be extremely careful in endgame, etc.) Now Deadlock, Corrupt, Grim Embrace, Dead Man's, Pain Res and25 comments 681 views last activity

First post on the forum, hello gremlins of the fog! I really like the new modes emphasis on a more tense, scary match. As survivor you second guess yourself much more, and as killer you have to be more precise and surprising. It brings a new feeling to matches that I haven't felt since old DBD when like Hag and whatnot were coming out, I love it. That said, the mode kind of feels repitious aft0 comments 14 views last activity
