Not sure you play survivor, but if not give it a go and you'll learn why. Especially in solo queue where there is no communication. Hell, most of the friends I play with I never have discord on while playing with them (many are console and I've never interacted with them other than playing with them), so with friends it's not much better other than knowing someone will come for me if they're still alive and I'm hooked.
Around 50 50 just like basically everyone else... I don't see what gets changed by that?

for some killers I 100% agree. It's hard for huntress, (chasing) bubba, blight, some say even nurse (but I don't agree with her - you can do very good predictions with her) - or pure M1 no antiloop killers have it tougher (say sadako, pig).
But in my opinion on average, new RPD is killer sided (in a meaning of pick killer randomly and he will more likely then not like the map).
Toba landing is bad enough for top nurse players to call it a ######### map xD Knightlight for example seems to despise it.
I think the Majority of players dislike indoor maps since they all have their own problems but if you go by kill rate it might be true. I still hate every indoor map and rpd especially.

Go against a scratched mirror Myers or a Huntress and you'll see. Trapper could be dangerous on it if he basement hooks someone. Also Hex Blood Favor can make pallets a non factor and totems can be a pain to find on that map. So Blood Favor & Undying would screw things up for survivors. I use Blood Favor on that map a lot as killer.
How do you know you will get the map beforehand? If you need a certain perk to make a map viable then the map has bad design. Wasn't scratch mirror the t1? That's a terrible addons on any map but Lerys, why would it be good on that map? There are many loops that are I reach of generators and as soon as you reach a loop with a pallet you are safe, unless he has 3 stacks of play with your food... I don't think Myers with that addons is any good on the game.
Huntress depends many loops are high enough to crouch the hatchets and if we take perks into account urban evasion helps against that.
If you go down against trapper near basement you already made a mistake, but yes the basement is better for trapper then on other maps since he only needs 2 traps to shut it down, I still don't think the map is good for trapper, you csnnot hide traps and if someone just follows and disarms you have nothing.

If you are face camping / tunneling at 5 gens, I’m not saying ggs. If there’s nothing good about it, why lie or pretend like sportsmanship matters in this game. It doesn’t. Same thing if a swf genuinely just genrushes, there’s nothing good about it lol. If it’s a good back and forth, then yeah it’s ggs.
Why be polite to other humans that use methods that are provided by the game... I think that is just a balancing issue and not the problem of those players, you can despise certain playstyle and it would be great if the community as a whole agreed to certain rules but if they don't then the devs need to remove those playstyle if they agree that they are not good for the game, but otherwise those people are just trying to win/play the game with the tools they have and I don't think they can be blamed for that. Both sides have busted things at their hand, I don't see a reason to be impolite there, the most cheesy strategy still deserves a GG, it is not their fault it exists and can be effective, so why be impolite to them?

In my opinion, most fair maps are - coal tower (RNG heavy, but both sides can have blast), Thomson house (small number of pallets, but strong loops that can however be played around with massive deadzone in the middle), father's chappel (small map with strong main). There are other maps that can be added to the list, but they always lean a little towards one side or the other.
The things I don't agree with:
Dead dawg is killer sided because of awful 3gen (killer just need to be wise enough to not chase at main if he's susceptible to semi-infinite), Sanctum - leans towards killer, McMillan - realm as a whole favors survivor a little even though there are maps that are fair and there's shelter woods that still favors killer a little bit but not very much. Gideon is on average killer sided, but it's absolute irredeemable pain for some killers (say Freddy), old RPD was 100% survivor sided (new one is on average killer sided but some killers struggle there real bad), Eyrie of crows was very survivor sided and still is survivor sided even though much less then before as they reduced the size.
I would say depending on the killer new rpd still is survivor sided since it takes ages to get to places and most loops offer rather little counterplay for m1 killers.

@AykDanroyd said:
The Artist's map was too before they made it smaller. I used to have good and bad matches on it as killer & survivor but now it's mostly good for my killer matches and bad for survivor (especially against toxic killers).
Gideon is pretty balanced unless you're going against a scratched mirror Myers, Skull Merchant or Legion. Huntress & Nemesis are pretty OP on that map too.
Eyrie still favors survivors a little at least, the loops are all pretty strong and the main building is alright, it was just completely busted before.
Gideon is a horrible map with 20+ safe pallets, I will never understand how survivors go down against basic m1 killers on this map... Sure when the killer kicks all pallets the map has nothing, but if you cannot manage to end the game after the killer kicked 20 pallets than that says more about you and your team than anything else... I don't find Nemesis too strong on this map, just predrop and deny him t2 and he needs to kick pallets normally... Its not like you need to be resourceful with pallets anyway...

Toba Landing, Dead Dawg, Sanctum of Wrath, McMillan
Toba landing has way to many line of sight blockers and makes it easy to hide when you hear a heart beat.
Dead dawg offers a really strong main building with basically an infinite and becomes very killer sided if you decide to 3 Gen in the outskirts. It basically offers misery depending on what playstyle the killer chooses.
Sanctum is also rather killer sided if you decide to hold the 3/4 gen of one side.
The McMillan maps are mostly balanced, I can agree on that.
I would also say wreckers yard is fine, blood lodge can be fine and Nostromo seems to be fine, besides some weird frame drops. Azarovs is too easy to 3gen and gas heavens main building is a it too strong since they put the main building more in the middle. But at least they got rid of those car walls.

For me personally, I don't like either. The light bm you call it is just as bad as the other stuff. You talking to a person who was bullied and was competely isolated for most of their young life and even seeing that "light bm" triggers me greatly and send me back to those days when I was told I would loser for not playing sports or for liking anime. Those days have scarred me greatly to the point I really hate any social interaction at all. I have large amounts of social anxiety so any bm triggers me and I try to avoid it all I can. That is why I say that dbd is just as toxic as any other pvp game out there. That why Im happy dbd dont have voice chat and why Im avoiding TCM.
Sorry about that dude, but that's still a completely different level of toxicity. I mean some people react differently to such messages, I could not care less what people on the internet have to say in such games and it does not affect me at all. I could imagine that someone who already lost their would react especially upon someone wishing harm to their mother or something like that.
But again like threatening people with harm/wishing harm upon them VS "you're bad" just on an objective level one of those two is waaaaaaaay more offensive, to say they are equally toxic is a little bit off.
If you want to argue that the amount of toxic people might be similar the we could probably agree upon that, but the level of toxicity is not even comparable. I mean imagine that situation in real life one person calls you bad and the other one threatens you, one is a crime the other isn't, one might scare you to death the other won't, it is just a completely different level. And the reason why I made the example in real life is just because you cannot take it seriously online since the person doesn't even know who you are so saying such things would be completely meaningless.
As for avoiding certain games because of that, just play with friends or disable voice chat, if you are interested in a game you should not get scared of just because people could say something in voice chat, if it effects your life those guys already won...

The current survivor meta combined with SWFs is already killing killer variety. Not unless MFT + Resi + Hope and broken combos like Buckle Up + FTP get nerfed hard.
Top tier killers like the Nurse and Blight don't care about MFT while it really hurts low tier M1 Killers.
I didn't really see that yet, but I agree that those perks hurt weaker killers more than others.

We can agree to disagree then bc I don't think this community is as friendly as ppl make it out to be. Every night and every other game I come across toxic ppl who tell me gg ez and tell me to uninstall the game or say gg after they teabag me at the exit gate when I had a rough match. For ex last night I had a really bad match as xeno and you what I got afterward? I got teabags at the gates and was told I was one of the worst killers they ever had and I should uninstall the game. Sure I have over 1k hours in the game but I'm still learning a xeno and I'm having a rough time with it. That is just one of many toxic players I have seen in this game. So yeah I don't think dbd community is as friendly and least toxic as you think. Let's not forget we talking about a community that used an innocent killer cosmetic for racist acts. It got so bad that the devs had to remove those cosmetics competely from the game. This community is just as toxic as those games you listed if not more and no amount of banning from the devs will change that sorry. Anyway, I hope you have a great day, I really do but I'm done with this topic for now.
Also add that Im not against saying ggs in this game but I do understand ppl like OP who dont want to see it. All I have to say is just mute the chat and you have a much better time in this game imo. You dont need to interact with anyone if you dont want to.
That's just light bm, in those games I mentioned people wish for bad things to happen to you or your family, eg wish cancer onto people and stuff, scream at you which one of your family members they had slept with and so, the most offensive slurs and so on and so forth, I think calling someone bad, teabaging, telling to uninstall is really harmless compared to what you experience in these games... In my 2.5k hours not once has one of those things happened to me in DBD and I can count on my fingers how often this happened to me in those other games this week alone, so I stand by the point I made, DBD is by far one of the lesser toxic gaming communities out there. Dota might improve though due to changes in their behavior score lately, but we will see...

Maybe I just have had a better experience in other pvp games than dbd. I play a lot of OW2 and I never feel that either side is super toxic to the other. Even the games that are one-sided feel better afterward than dbd one-sided games. Also, I did say in my post that killers can bully survivors as well so I don't know why you said it in a way like I didnt. Either way I do think dbd is a lot more toxic than most other pvp games and that's why some ppl don't want to see ggs all the time esp when the matches are so one-sided. One way to fix this I feel is to make mmr better but who knows honestly?
LoL
DBD and Blizzard games in general probably have the least toxic communities because they will basically ban you for most things that are considered harassment, whereas games like teamfortress 2 had achievements for making a player rage quit or something like that. Go play counterstrike or Dota and tell me that other games have friendlier communities. The amount of times you get insulted in those games is a lot higher than the amount it happens in DBD, not even close buddy.
In Dota for example people would fountain dive you and delay the game to kill you more often or just focus one person in the enemy team despite it being not the best play just out of spite, I don't know how people get the idea that the DBD community is that much more toxic than other games.
I don't understand people not wanting to see a gg no matter what happened in the game at least the guy tried to be a good sports about, what else can you expect? It's not like gg is anything like bm or something, you cannot preamptively gg in this game or do something similar.

Mmm, I may have worded it wrong. I'm not saying it is an asym is the reason for the bad matches. That is competely bc mmr sucks in dbd and rarely ever works. Umm I mentioned asym bc in other games its an even number of players vs other players and I feel the chances of the feeling of being "bullied" is a lot less bc of your teammates are there also. Im mostly speaking from a killer main pov but there are times when I play Killer and feel all 4 survivors' goal is just to make sure I have the worst time possible. This can be true for survivors also where sometimes it feels like the killer's only goal is to make sure they have the worst time possible. I feel in other games you don't have those situations that often.
I don't think so, even if just a single player outplays you and tbags and stuff is enough to feel bullied, same as in any other game as well. Some people will always be better and then play with you like with a toy. I don't think this matters in any sense, the killer can also bully the survivors and the other way round.
-
@BlueRose said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3535504#Comment_3535504
I think it's bc is an asym. In other games they more or last team base where each time has an even number of players. Also, dbd imo rarely has even matchups. A lot of matches are competely one-sided. As a killer main I rarely even have close matches, it is either I stomp the survivors or the survivors stomp me. When a side gets competely stomped, the last thing they want to see is ggs from the person or persons that competely destroyed them.
Also dbd doesnt have a clear win or lose. The community and devs kinda just decided that kills matter. So when a killer plays nice and try to hook ppl evenly but all 4 survivors leave while teabagging them at the gate and then says "ggs" Its not the best feeling. It felt you lost and the ppl on the other end is just rubbing it in. The same can be said when a killer plays for kills and tunnels and camps. Survivors don't really want to see the killer say ggs when they use stuff like tunneling and camping to kill them.
I wouldn't say the games are not close because it is asymmetrical, I would rather play it on the bad matchmaking.

I've already said I disagree that being a good sports means you have to say gg. And I think having that expectation of others is self-centered.
I disagree on both, for example in the starcraft 2 pro scene it is considered bm not to gg and many pro players get called out on not doing it for example Idra and apparently Innovation, you can think otherwise but you'd be in the minority. I guess the same goes for normals sports where it is expected of you and rude otherwise. It is nowhere near self centered to expect people to be polite when you yourself did not behave impolite.

I don't say anything because I'm on console. But I would only say gg when I sincerely thought it was a good game for everyone. I don't think saying gg is required to be a good sport. In situations where somebody clearly got screwed (like the one guy who the killer managed to tunnel out) I think saying gg would be rude to them.
It is part of the game though, same as cheesy strategys... Therefore I would stick by it unless they do bm you in some sense I don't think it changes anything.
-
@brokedownpalace said:

That's almost bm again, I mean in other games even if people use rather cheesy strategies it is expected to still gg since it is part of the game, same with those things in DBD, I'm not sure how they do it in comp but I would expect them to be at least good sports and gg every match?

All you’re saying is yes, it is a killer sided map
Well for some people with a hammer everything is a nail right? I guess that applies to you to here. No I don't think it is killer sided. I think it is good if maps offer weaker structures instead of complete deadzones and many maps before were just way too busted with safe structures and the possibility to chain them. I think Nostromo is a rather balanced map, compared to the last few maps they made, but as well overall.

@Lixadonna said:
It's never a good game except for the person who won.
People will leave gg and immediately run. It's just a forced comment.
It is just being good mannered, nothing more and nothing less. Here it is just about fun in a game, but for example in pro (e)-sports they also have this gestures and I think it is a sign of respect to gg. Take Starcraft for example in pro matches everyone ggs before leaving it's just the etiquette and you can like it or not but that does not change what it is.
And for the point itself I could not care less about winning or loosing in this game, I care about good chases and fun parts. If I make a wesker vault a window on accident that's a good game. If I could apply a certain trick or tech I tried to learn, that's a good game and so on. If you only focus on winning then that's pretty dire, especially if you are still learning things and are not a comp player with 10 k hours.
Imagine games like starcraft where people even at the top have a roughly 50% percent winrate, you really think they hate their life the other 50% they loose? You should enjoy the game itself and not just winning, otherwise you waste your time.

How is playing around a pallet with 2 inches on each side skill related? Especially against Xeno which a loose loose to begin with?
Good survivors can make use of bad pallets, also yes some killers make basically every pallet in the game unsafe, it's not really an argument though. If you have the option of nothing a complete dead zone or a trash pallet, you should take the pallet. If maps had 15-20 fair pallets it would take ages for the killer to get a down I think. Because even fair pallets when predropped can delay the hit by a substantial time. There need to be some weaker spots for killers to chase into and also some stronger ones to avoid otherwise the kiler would not have to chose where to chase because the map is equally strong anywhere.

Substantial BP incentive bonuses, extra experience, Iri shards or Rift fragments.
Let's phrase it differently, why would anyone opt in with a lower tier killer? You would effectively kill killer variety then... You would face like 5-6 killers or some ridiculously good one tricks with 2k hours on huntress or something like that.
It's just a terrible idea.

I would like jungle gyms to be jungle gyms and a shack to be a shack with a normal layout and not gaps everywhere so it is a loose-loose situation.
So you basically want the same tiles over and over again with no map specific tiles? I mean you do have jungle gyms there? I still think that the pallet is just wrongly place at the long wall jungle gym, but I think it is fine that there is no shack on this map.

I've noticed that the devs are really good at capturing the type of terror they want to invoke with a certain killer.
For example: Me and a friend were doing a generator, and we both turned our cameras at the same time, and saw Michael Myers just standing there, staring at us. It terrified both of us to realize he had been watching us the whole time.
Or The Dredge (Dredge Main here) representing the people trying to suppress their dark thoughts and failing, and whenever you're doing a gen, having to worry (suppress your fears/dark thoughts) over whether he's going to come bust out of that locker or not.
In every (good) movie or video game with the Xenomorph, the terror is that it could be anywhere, and you're in for a fate worse than death if one finds you. Survivors in Alien(s) filmes/games have to hide somewhere and then sneak around doing their objectives, hoping they don't come across one.
I'm not a sweaty. I just got this game last month. I can't "infinite loop" killers.
I've been complaining (here and on youtube) that the only play (for someone like me) is to hide and only do objectives when I know it's (chasing someone) somewhere else.
Not realizing that that's probably the intended counterplay when they designed the character.
It knows where you are when you're moving somewhere. There's no cheeky tactics of hiding around the gen due to getting Killer Instinct when he exits the tunnel.
There's only cowering in some corner until you know it's not going to find you.
And maybe that's the whole point.
I mean maybe, but that still does not mean it is good gameplay and should stay like that. The horror vanishes rather fast after you spend some time in the game and what stays is the pure gameplay, and if that part is bad then it should be changed.

Learn how to read please. PH cannot drag his trail like Nemesis and Alien
Also in the video I posted it looks like something close to a 1 frame flick. That is just nothing anyone could react to so there is no reason to drag the hitbox to use it to react to survivors movements. And once again the hitbox of his range attack is much wider than the ones of Alien or Nemesis.

But his hitbox is also bigger by quite a lot? So if you basically flick on spot there is not really a need to drag the hitbox at this point? Whereas with the other two mentioned killers you might need to drag it a bit because it is a rather small hitbox.

Pyramid Head has to “charge”PH charge time: 0.3 sec
Alien charge time: 0.2 sec
Pyramid Head has a cooldownPH cooldown on missed attack: 2.25 sec
Alien cooldown on missed attack: 3 sec
In matters of counterplay PH nowhere near Xeno level. Good and patient PH literally has no counterplay. And no one crying about him only because public PHs just spam m2 every 5 seconds.
Same with good Artist (my main), and literally no one crying, because whole public is m1 Artist.
Just admit you guys want to have another Trapper every chapter and move on.
In case you want proof that flicking on pyramid head is a thing...

It doesn’t have to do with wrong turret placement. Turrets take too long to burn him out of his power, esp if he runs addons, and you can take the turrets out from afar with his tail. On top of that there is no indicator he’ll use his tail and the cooldown when missed is so short he’ll loose no distance. His tunnels make him regain his lost power in 3 seconds. So you as a survivor have to invest time in putting down turrets when the effect, if you get it, gets nullified in seconds. Ok…
The PTB should have picked up on this and this should have been addressed before release. The PTB is 2 weeks for a reason. I feel (not facts) that people playing the PTB just play it as early access to new content but not to actually look at stuff in a critical manner. Also, why hold a PTB and then add changes last minute so the chapter will go live potentially unbalanced?
Partially it does, some people just place them right in the loop so the killer does not need to go out of his way to destroy it even with an m1, but if you place them a little bit further so the killer does not immediatly notice it it is often enough to then get rid of it, also while he is busy hitting the turret you can get distance, even if he does not loose his power.
I don't disagree that the other things are not issues, but I would say some part of it is also people not yet knowing how to place the turrets to their advantage.
The problem with ptb feedback is that they don't really have control over the players participating and the quality of their feedback in general, players that have no clue what they are doing have the same ability to give feedback as 6000+ h players who really check for balancing and since they have a different point of view on the game the feedback might not be too helpfull. Also sometimes they at least get rid of the worst stuff, sure it is not guaranteed, but at least their is the possibility to change things.

That would require huge nerfs to survivors to counter the uncounterable advantage the coordination comms give them. Disabling aura perks, SWFs having increased generator repair times per each member in the premade, etc.
SWF mains can't have it both mains, having a huge advantage over Killers while also insisting the game should be balanced around solo queue.
Communication in any game offers a huge advantage over just silently doing your thing I still have not heard anyone wanting to get rid of it in Dota or counter strike for example? If we instead bring solo more on a level with swf for example by adding voice chat then we would have something to balance around.
When I say implement it I mean with more options like mit players, mute it all together, push to talk and so on, basically what every game has... I'm adding that part because it took bhvr years to add certain options that should be the bare minimum even when this game came out, so my hopes for a proper implementation from the get go are rather low.

Before the release of every chapter there is a PTB. The PTB is meant to assess new content and offer feedback so the developers can balance the game out before release. The last couple of chapters were a straight up mess, especially the current one. Xenomorph is overpowered. the map is completely unbalanced and the perks are either under- or overpowered. Why do we even have PTBs at this point?
It is the best map we got in years, may I remind you of Garden of Joy, Borgo, Eyrie of Crows? They were all terrible and broken maps with like 20 pallets and super safe structures.
Yes his tail attack should be looked at, the penalty for missing is too little and they didn't need to buff his speed while recovering. But he is not even close to being such a mess like Skull Merchant or Knight.
At least Xeno has some really cool features for example his tunnel system. I can't tell for sure yet, but some people pointed out that most players just place the turrets wrong, Hens for example gave some really useful tips for this and Scott Jund said something similar.
But ofc I agree that counterplay should not be limited to an item you pick up. So maybe give it a clearer tell or something so people can dodge, Noone wants the old Insta shoot Deaths linger back... This time with less range but map mobility.
But honestly I would still take Alien over Knight or Skull Merchant... Far more enjoyable than those two.

For the last couple of killers the developers have come up with some side objective as counterplay. You know who that works for? Premades. You know who are stomped? Solos. And this time they made the counterplay so underwhelming. Xeno can just tailwhip a turret from afar…like, what…
Have you never seen a Pyramid Head flick his m2? He totally can change where he will...

Mindgaming is part of the game. But having pallets where the loop is so short you’re going to get hit either way is too strong.
Would you rather have it be dead zone? I think even really killer sided pallets are better than nothing and already delay a bit more than a dead zone...

Theres long wall with window and pallet right on it. There is nothing in other directions and it makes no sense to put window there like that.
Isn't that just a long wall jungle gym with the pallet being on the wrong spot? They did something similar a few patches ago where on the ptb in the mcmillan maps the pallets spawned wrong like in this picture, probably thanks to spaghetti code. If it is intended they are trying to get jungle gyms somewhat in line when it comes to strenght, because the long wall is way stronger than the other one.
My guess would be that this is a bug? But even if not you still have a solid pallet and a solid longwall, you just cannot run it the same way as you would run a normal long wall.
-
I also never found it to be rather one sided, the table thing with the pallet is quite annoying and the jungle gyms are alright, I didn't play it often enough to tell if it has god pallets, but also god pallets are terrible design because the don't allow to apply skill unless on certain killers, the killer only has the option to break it, because it is basically impossible to get a hit if the other player is sentient.
-
Silence of the Lambs is also the main movie, not red dragon or hannibal. I don't know if he would fit the game, but I think Hannibal Lector is just a great character and Anthony Hopkins managed to him both a monster and charming at the same time.
I just hope no matter what chapter it is please not another claustrophobic indoor map...

cause it doesn’t feel like mmr exist
Also yes, because it is rather hard to measure skill in this game in a way that makes it possible for an mmr system to give rankings accordingly...

Grades are just a measure how much you play and how often you win between the 13th of every month, after which the grades get reset. They are only used to determine a bloodpoint reward at the end of the cycle as an incentive.
Matchmaking is supposed to use an invisible ELO system.
But due to imbalanced population of skill levels on both sides, queue times increased and people complained about that. So the devs implemented mechanics into the matchmaking that soften the matching parameter with increasing queue duration.
In other words matchmaking was made horrible for faster queues. Lobby dodging and backfill also made it worse.
Pretty much that + there is somewhat of a soft cap at around 1600 or 1700 or something like that? And after you reach that you can basically get matched with anyone above. They even lowered it for more killervariety, because if you make it higher there are only that many killers that can consitently win against even better survivor and they were at that point: Nurse, Spirit and Blight.
Also matchmaking only counts escapes or kills, nothing else, so you can be the best looper in the game if you die you lost. It counts each survivor as a seperate matter so you basically play 4 games as killer at once since you play seperate against each survivor with those two possible relevant outcomes of died or escaped. Hatch does not count at all. Also if your queue time reaches a certain amount you are basically guaranteed to get whatever team there is currently in queue same goes for backfilling when one person left the matchmaking will just basically add anyone to make the game happen faster.
The matchmaking really is not much if any better than the old rank system. But ranks/grades are irrelevant for matchmaking now.
Hope this helped you. If you want more information there are videos on youtube where people explain it in ore depth, because some data miners basically figured the whole thing out. E.G. ScottJund did a informative video on what got found out and linked the guy who the information of the data miners first hand.
-
It still baffles me that people still don't all understand what grades are and that mmr exists xD Isn't it like over a year now since they implemented mmr? ^^

Title is the description, I'm going to offer up a quick tip that will hopefully help against each killer in DBD
Trapper: If possible, identify where Trapper has spawned and avoid it whenever possible, Trapper works very well when he sets up a web of traps, don't step into the web unless you absolutely need to, If you're feeling brave you can stay near Trapper and constantly reset his traps, you'll annoy him very quickly
Hillbilly: Hug corners tightly and go to loops where his Chainsaw is harder to use, avoid running in circles around small bits of terrain, Hillbilly can and probably will curve around it and hit you
Wraith: How you need to play against Wraith mostly depends on his addons and perks, but you can see him from further away then you might think no matter what he's using, if you go to a pallet and he goes invisible to try and get a cheeky hit, don't camp the pallet, try to get into his face and force him to either chase after you or move away from you in order to decloak behind a rock
Nurse: Do your damnedest to not get found, run Stealth perks like Quick and Quiet and Diversion, if she does find you, hold W and try to make as much distance as possible, you can't loop Nurse, but she also can't down you if she never finds you
Huntress: She has a very obvious audio que for when she's readying a hatchet and when she's putting the hatchet away, if you hear the first audio que, don't commit to a window or pallet and instead try to get her to waste the hatchet or put it away, once she does either, then you can vault or drop the pallet
Myers: Myers may not have a terror radius at tier 1 but he's still pretty easy to see due to his mask, keep a constant eye out for him and keep out of his line of sight as much as possible
Hag: Crouch around hooks and hold Crouch until you're out of the trap's range, Hags like placing traps around hooked survivors in order to get cheesy hits, but that relies entirely on you rushing to unhook rather then crouching, Urban Evasion is a very useful perk against Hag as well, use it if she's giving you trouble but know that I will be judging you for it
Doctor: Even with the shock delay addons you can still time pallet drops and vaults, he also slows down whenever charging Shock Therapy, so greed loops as much as you can
Bubba: Try to get him to bump into stuff whenever you can and run like hell if he does, you will make a lot of distance regardless of how long the tantrum lasts
Freddy: Learn to stay in the dream world and don't go for the clocks unless you really have to, Freddy is only slightly more dangerous if you're asleep so it's often better to just use your teammates to wake you up rather then going across the map for the clocks
Pig: Try to memorise where the boxes are and get rid of the RBTs as soon as possible even if they aren't active, the sooner those things are off the better you will be
Clown: Try to time your vaults with when you're not Intoxicated, if you see Clown committing to a reload, run like hell and make as much distance as you can
Spirit: Iron Will may not be as powerful as it used to be, but do not underestimate it, 75% quieter grunts of pain is still more then enough to throw her off, plus it synergises with MFT, combine those 2 with Lucky Break and Spirit will just not be able to find you at all
Legion: DO NOT ######### HEAL, Split up from your teammates and force Legion to chase you as a standard 115%, even if they have Thanatophobia
Plague: DO NOT CLEANSE, Corrupt Purge is one of the strongest ranged attacks in the game, deny her that power and she becomes a standard 115% m1 killer
Ghostface: Large open maps are your best friend, try to stay in areas where there isn't a lot of terrain and LOS blockers, Ghostface may be able to stalk you easier but you'll also be able to reveal him easier
Demogorgon: Shred can let Demo fly, do not think you're safe just because you're far away from him if he's on a elevated surface, he will be able to close distance almost as well as Nurse can, if you see him charging Shred, try to get up in his face and throw off his aim, once he misses, run like hell in the opposite direction
Oni: Circle of Healing is still a very useful perk against Oni, try to stay healed and avoid giving him his power as much as you can, the early game is when he's weakest, so try to get as many gens done as he can before he can trigger Blood Fury
Deathslinger: Do not think you're safe just because you're inside a building and he isn't, The Redeemer's hitbox is surprisingly small and can hit you through small holes
Pyramid Head: Run and try to throw off his aim once you hear him charging Punishment of The Damned and take sharp turns once you hear it go off
Blight: Try to go to loops where there isn't a lot of stuff for Blight to use his power, Crouching in his face is also quite useful since he will just straight up miss if he isn't looking down, unless that's been patched, in which case, just try to stay at loops where his power is less useful
Twins: Kidnap Victor and keep him away from your teammates as long as possible, if Charlotte chases you while Victor's on your back, do not try to throw him off, you'll be locked in the Crush animation and give Charlotte a free down
Trickster: Stay around high walls and try to make him waste as many knives as possible, try to keep a mental count of how many knives' he's thrown and make plays based off of that, if he has less then 10 and you're healthy, feel free to just hold W and possibly take the injure if you can
Nemesis: Don't drop pallets unless you are dead sure it'll stun, keep Nemesis out of tier 2 as long as you can, don't be afraid to get Infected by zombies either, you'll get a speed boost and deny him some Infection progress
Pinhead: Babysit the box and/or protect the person with the box if you can, letting Pinhead chain Chain Hunts is a guaranteed loss no matter how good you are, so keep it from activating as much as you can
Artist: Try to bait Artist into launching crows, if you can make her waste them she'll be slowed and have to wait a bit before placing them again, alternatively, hold W to the next loop if you hear her placing them down
Sadako: Grab a tape once you get to 3 stacks of Condemned in order to get rid of all of them at once, identify where TVs spawn and keep a mental map of them in your head, Sadako has nothing in chase so she relies entirely on hit and runs, which she cannot do if she can't find you
Dredge: Dredge may not have a TR in Nightfall, but you can still hear and see him wandering around, if you see him charging his power in chase, then camp a pallet and try to get him to either cancel it or waste the teleport
Wesker: Go into open areas and try to get him to either M1 you or just throw you, alternatively, try to camp windows and get him to vault through them on accident, not only is it funny, you can get quite a bit of distance
Knight: The Guards are braindead and don't go through windows or pallets, hold W to a loop once you get Hunted and try to hold W back to the Stand once it spawns, Knight is not difficult to loop so long as you play things smarter then he does
Skull Merchant: Get injured and just stay in the drone's radius, putting on some Low-Fi beats is also recommended, trust me, it makes dealing with the worst killer in the game a lot less painful
Singularity: Save EMPs for when you get Slipstreamed and stay around terrain and walls, also be mindful of where the Biopods are, they can end up in some very strange places
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/H0OD9PQRT216/20230831192738-1.jpg
Xenomorph: If you can bait a tail attack at a pallet or window, you'll have enough time to either drop the pallet or vault it, force Xeno to chase you into areas with Flame Turrets, even if they don't break her out of Crawler Mode they'll still serve as a useful distraction
Feel Free to add your own tips, sharing information is the best way to learn after all
Also for Freddy, what do you mean he is only slightly more dangerous when in the dream world? HIs whole slowdown chase mechanic only works when asleep? His power basically does nothing if you are awake?

I would say about Nurse breaking Line of Sight is more important than staying stealthy, you can loop Nurse in the sense of making it harder for her to hit a blink, and less experienced Nurses will fall for that. If you face a god Nurse you will loose, but then again same goes for most A tier and above killers if played really well.
For Slinger I would say don't drop pallets when healthy because he can fairly easily injure you on basically every tile in the game, that does not include a high wall cover.
For Oni deny him the first hit for as long as possible so he cannot access his power, play it super save, pre drop pallets if necessary.
With Sadako I would even say grab immediatly since it makes it so you don't gain stacks when she teleports.

Thanks.

Smaller Map = Gen Spawn too close, 3 gen problem
Smaller maps solve many problems in the game, less time traversing, more chase time, less holding w. You can Stille place the gens in a way that makes 3 genning not as easy, but make maps bigger just to have wider Gen spread is a bad idea, they should come up with a different change to solve 3 gens. Since killers without high mobility have huge issues on bigger maps, because it takes them ages to get to places...

Right click, properties, then at the very bottom there is a checkbox that says read only.
If that doesn't work, you can just blow away your Dead by Daylight folder, verify game files, then launch the game. it should repopulate everything with default.
EDIT: I mean the DeadbyDaylight folder in Local, not your actual game install, the same place you go to find your GameUserSettings.ini
You would have to set your settings again but it will let you save them.
Should have tried that before I reinstalled the whole thing xD I knew about the read only thing and also tried to do all that, but we'll I reinstalled it and now it works, so I guess it is fine now :3

Because that's the point a few weeks/months ago Otzdarva and Co did a content creator/streamer vs comp team thing with a Wraith and they had a rather weaker comp team and then V1 I think it was? Complained that it was basically not comparable to the top comp teams and the outcomes were drastically different so depending on the teams competing it might show something or not.
The Wraith still was really good and all but never played outside of normal matchmaking.

sure. Agreed. But that one was a test. And it clearly showed that the game is balanced even for highest MMR (by the fact, that both sides had broken-OP things at disposal). Which is very good. There were a lot of people saying killer is unplayable at high MMR...
Right now most broken things for both sides disappeared. I wonder how the test would look like now - but if it's anything like the last results (just with longer matches with more looping and less camping as there are less OP things) - then that would be good.
Who participated in the tournament? Was it the top comp teams as well? Because otherwise I don't know what it showed in that regard...

I know that video and saw it. Funny thing is - those ended up pretty even. And this was also counting in artist and not just blight/nurse/spirit.
Artist is debateable 4th or 5 th best killer in the game. Even if they are quite even it is still kind of boring to just rush through the objective like that... I don't know I would prefer the game to be more on the chase and less on the macro game.

I'm sorry, but do you know how to check whether the file is in read-only mode? Because both the absence of those (and various other) variables in your GUS.ini as well as the fact that your custom graphics settings (under [ScalabilityGroups]) are being maintained suggests that the file is read-only.
I changed it, and tried it in both read only and not mode but for some reason the options mentioned above just where not in my file, and therefore changing them ingame could not add these options to the file, so for some reasons these options existed ingame but not in this file...
