Which is BS cause I definitely land hits that I should've missed but they get corrected onto the survivor.
I think they are right.
They just dont take into account that lags also affect that feature.
Although there is probably not much difference between normal lag hit and AE lag hit. This is probably what they meant.

true, but if you ever play solo survivor with empathy/bond, you can see how many people self care in a corner. survivors would rather bleed and be able to heal than be injured all the time, because its too hard for them
Self caring in corner is bad, but going for the save injured (and then complaining about tunneling) is not the smartest idea either.

The current ranking system goes from 20 - 1 and since it's frequently broken, it creates such disparities between survivors and killers and it's much more noticeable ( ie. rank 15 survivor paired with 20,2,4 ranks).
So if the new MMR system had tiers starting from D to S ( D, C, B, A, S), it will greatly reduce the difference in between the ranks, which is much better than having 20 ranks.
Knowing that MMR typically introduces a big number in terms of actual rank (ie. 1700, 2500, 5000), the letter tiers make it so that other players in the trial including you has an ambiguous rank but can show a more broad sense of skill.
So the way it could work is this.
D tier = 1000 MMR rank, C tier = 2000 MMR rank, B tier = 3000 MMR rank, A tier = 4000 MMR rank, S tier = 5000 MMR rank.
At the end of a trial, it would only show the Killer's and Survivors' LETTER tier (ie. if I had an MMR of 3230 then it would show me as B tier).
Now you could argue that people would still complain (A tier getting paired with C tier) but since there are fewer variables, the likelihood of that occurring would be slim.
Thoughts?
Yes this is fine.
I would do anything to see the mmr values, this way it also prevents abuse of the system.
Doesnt matter if its "letter ranks", "emblem ranks" or whatever, just give use the approximate mmr values

I always hated the "start trial off healthy" suggestion. You pick No Mither to start off, and stay injured. it goes with Resilience and... other perks, maybe?
I feel like it should help with David King's kit, making him a very aggressive, yet vulnerable. So my suggestion is this...
"You are broken. You leave no blood trails. grunts of pain are 0%/25%/50% less. You can recover from the dying state as many times as you want. You can recover exhaustion while running at 8%/10%/12% of your normal rate(doesn't pair with vigil)."
Could give higher ranked players an actual reason to use it, with the major downside that you are one-shot permanently. Rewarding aggressive play, it could actually be a good stealth/chase perk. I feel like the numbers could use some tweaking, but that's just an idea.
The thing is, that the "pick up yourself" part would be completely useless. No killer would slug you if they know you have No Mither.
My suggestions were made to make current No Mither usefull, not adding new mechanics.
Im not saying complete rework is not a good idea, it just wasnt my intention.

Eeeh thats why we want to disable it?
But in all seriousness, this "auto aim" does not help you hit surviviors as a killer. It only helps you miss.

It would certainly help prevent unnecessary deaths due to lag or the game being a twat and freezing for no discernible reason...
Or for a bunch of other reasons, like controller losing battery, becoming unplugged momentarily, your dog tackles you so you lose the controls, or someone spooks you from behind that makes you jump and lose concentration for a second, or because Windows decides "Nah, you don't want to focus on your game anymore", or because you accidentally hit the home button on the controller or some other button, or because some little bit of dirt gets stuck under your keys so your key input doesn't register...
<DEEP INHALE>
...or because the game itself bugs out and doesn't register you hitting the struggle button no matter what, or because you need to go AFK on hook for literally 5 seconds to grab your phone as you get a call or whatever, maybe some people honest to goodness cannot button mash because of health conditions, or maybe it hurts some people because of carpal tunnel by the way BHVR the button mashing gives people carpal tunnel. Maybe You're TydeTyme and your chat is being dickish and so they play a card that makes your hands go off the controller for 5 seconds so you die, maybe there's a real life emergency and you need to leave the game for even just a few seconds, like your mother jumping out of the window or something (idk, I don't judge), or maybe because I just don't feel like doing it because it serves no purpose than to annoy people.
...You know, just some reasons for why removing it would be beneficial.
No need to give reasons why removing it would be beneficial, this feature has no reason to exist to begin with

Nailed it right here.
The argument of “you could just mute it”...isn’t valid at all. With killers being buffed around everyone communicating, if you mute it you are now at even more of a disadvantage than solo survivors are currently. Also with regards to the toxicity, if you have the others muted there’s a very good chance your “teammates” will be annoyed with you....you know how that will turn out. Plus people who play SWF currently would probably mute the in-game voice chat, and just use discord or whatever. Why would they want to talk to randoms? They’ll just carry on talking to their friends only like normal. Now the solo player who actually DID want to talk, has nobody to talk to because his SWF teammates have it on mute lol. It’s a terrible idea that would be disastrous. Luckily, they’ll never do it.
Then what about a set of "voice commands" like "save me" "do gens" etc.
It would let random people comunicate without all the ######### associated with comms

1 minute is so much time. And its not 800 points, its 800 with chance of 5000 or something like that.
And some people just dont like being forced to give up because someone arbitrarily decides that they have no chance of winning.

And I am saying that feature makes sense. Survivors shouldn't try to save "their hook lives" till the end and if they do that's what can happen. You could see, 'hey my teammates are dying and I haven't been hooked or chased, maybe I should distract the killer for a bit so my team can do gens, even If I sit on the hook I can by them time' etc.
Just because it is a feature doesn't mean you should have 24/7 access... It's like unbreakable, you can only use it while slugged not picked up. You take a risk the killer isn't going to pick you up so you can use it. Or just bring it as an in-case. But that doesn't mean 'oh no I died before I got to use it, that's not fair.' Kind of thing.
I see it as you take the risk that you won't be able to use it.
If you really want to hear from a dev, Peanits or some dev actually spoke on why they changed this. And I believe it was summed up to. The game is just over at that point. If I remember correctly. But the exact post is somewhere on the forums. It was quite awhile ago.
No one would try to save their lives, betting your chance of escape on RNG and killer being potato does not sound like a good plan. Sometimes your teammates just suck or DC and you are left with a game terminated early.
I just want the first hook as last survivior to be the same as all first hooks. I dont like that they take away your slim chance of escaping given you by a certain game mechanic just to make the game 1 minute shorter. This just does not feel right.
-
Yeah this need to be changed.
Did the same post recently but no response from devs

So, as a survivor if you successfully chased and kited the killer. The killer should be allowed to close the exit doors on you before you can escape? To get another shot at killing you? Because it seems to be the same argument just reversed. If a killer successfully hunts down a survivor and "kills" them, you want the survivor to have another shot. So, shouldn't the killer also get another shot then? In both cases it just doesn't make sense. To me, they had their chance, why ask for another? Same with killer, if the survivor escapes, they escape. There's no extra chances on either side. The game is over.
There is no mechanic that lets killer close gates at the moment.
Unhooking yourself on first hook is a feature, but for some reason its blocked when you are the last survivior

Any killer that has a brain will respect a pallet when in Feral Frenzy. It's common sense.
Legion gets a free hit, deal with it
Not if you smash it on its face.
And again, that free hit gives him almost nothing.
This is exactly why legion is bad, his hits do almost nothing.

Mhm, maybe. I am still sceptical.
The Legion gets a 4 secound stun after frenzy and his view turns almost to a black screen. That can be enough for a survivor to find a place to hide, or to move far away enough (depending on the map and the perks).
This advantage gives every survivor up, if he drops a pallet on the Legion (if the Legion is in frenzy).
Im assuming that you dont want to get hit by FF at all cost, because you dont like giving Legion "free hits".
But yeah, getting hit by FF is not end of the game, sometimes its better to get hit and then get back to objectives.

You could take advantage of the feeled 4 hour stun after frenzy from the Legion. Just be warned, a pallet drop reduced his stun, so don't drop pallets on a Legion in frenzy.
While the Legion is in frenzy, he can't really harm you, since dw is not a vital abilitie - aka. a abilitie who could potential put you down.
If you have a choice between:
- Not dropping and getting hit by FF
- Dropping early and getting hit by FF (FF vaults)
- Dropping late and stunning
Then you have to stun him, even thought stun is shorter.
-
Fun fact: hook tech does not exist. The thing at fault for the "hook tech" is the feature explained above. It just locks on the hooked body, because its closer.
(I have no proof, but try it out yourself, your killer tries to hit the hooked survivior even if there is no one else nearby)
-
You are 50% right.
There is no auto aim, but there is "animation enchancement" the difference, according to Peanits is that "autoaim can make you land hits you shouldnt have" while AE cannot do that. Animation Enchancement can only "make you miss hits that should have hit"
-
@ImLeslieKetamine said:
The idea of auto aim is something that is supposed to help killers get hits, but for the most part (in my experience) it ends up screwing the killer over, whenever you're hugging a wall and finally about to down the survivor or get a hit, you end up smacking the wall or window because the survivor is hugging it (due to looping well).
Not only that but occasionally if a survivor jukes in a certain way it could cause the killer to entirely "miss" even if the survivor is directly in front of them and in hit range. I'm not sure if this is just a console thing or if the auto aim is a PC thing as well, but please, can we get this taken care of? It extends chases not due to survivor skill, or killer mistakes but because the game decided you smacked a window, or completely missed.
If the Devs see this and would like some evidence of this, I can gladly provide it. Thank you for reading this.
Please dont use term "auto aim".
The correct term for this phenomenon is "animation enchancement" and it was confirmed by BHVR.

If you dont like being given a chance as a survivior then just end your life on hook.
We can ask devs to add "commit not living" option for the last survivior on hook just for you
Thank you, but I prefer fighting to the end.

Yup. People are obsessed with legion for some ######### reason, either they’re a horny teen girl who lovhes Frank for some reason or they can’t actually win chases normally and like the free hits that Feral Frenzy gives them. You wanna know how I know that? Because they always complain about how “terrible” legion is because they can’t down anyone... really? Try playing any other M1 killer, at least then you don’t get the first hit for free. His power is so braindead and easy to land, there is no counterplay, and none of them are good enough to actually land M1 hits that other killers completely rely on...
You realise that any stun immediately ends FF and depletes whole power gauge? Just learn to drop plallets man. And its not like these "free hits" give Legion much advantage. Actually, if you dont heal then you make it harder for Legion.

There is something I don't understand... the word "entitled". I think no one is entitled. If a survivor did 4 gens alone, avoided the killer then he is "entitled" to escape? No, same with the killer, a lot of people complains about the hatch because they think "I killed 3 people, I should have killed the 4th" when no, you're not entitled to have 4K just because you already have a 3k. That being said it would be cool to re-enable the hatch grab if a survivor has a key and the hatch has been shut.
Yeah, exactly. Just using word "entitled" unironically makes me doubt why these people even play games. Games are about "outplaying" not being "entitled" to anything.
Hatch grabs the same, competition should be fair until the last second. Although hatch grab was removed probably because it was bugged.

"survivior is entitled to hook attempts on first hook"
Not if they're the last Survivor in the trial. ;)

Thats the whole point of the post. WHY is the last hook special? Last survivior does not get launched outside if he tbags at the exit gate for 5 minutes, but gets instantly sacrificed when on hook.

All you really sound like is someone who gets hooked alone, and wants to use their deliverance and DS to "outplay" the killer. Nah bro. Don't get caught in the first place.
No, I did this "rage post" (or whatever you call it) after a game where a person DCed, second killed himself on hook. I saved the 3rd guy but he got tunneled, so I went to find hatch, killer closed it, I went for the gate, opened it, and then got caught. I looped and stealthed the whole game, and I die 1 hooked 1 m from the opened exit gate and I cant even try to kobe. No I did not have deliverance.

The circumstances needed to make such a thing matter are infrequent/specific enough that it would not be worth it to implement in exchange for all the times where it would amount to nothing more than a waste of time.
At best, just give the last Survivor full struggle points automatically unless it would have normally been their death hook.
The whole ordeal takes max 1 minute. Omg, so long. Surviviors can tbag at gate for 1 minute and the game does not automatically yeeet them out

Much like if you're teabagging at the exit gate, but not out of the match yet, you are entitled to the escape.
Deal with it. 😎
No he isnt. Last hook is and shoud be the same as every hook.

Ok, so there are things that people are entitled to. Killers weapon is entitled to deal damage if it hits the survivior, survivior is entitled to complete the gen when its at 100%, killer is entitled to hooking a survivior once hooking animation ends, survivior is entitled to hook attempts on first hook, ... Etc. Are we doing some silly game now? Do you even know what "entitled" means? You dont see a difference between game mechanics and denying survivior hook escape attempts because killer is "entitled" to kill him?

I'm talking about when there's only one Survivor left so self-unhooking is impossible. Changing that would just make Killers more conscious in making sure it doesn't make difference.
Yeah, but why is the last hook different from others at all?
And yes, it would make a difference, even if they are conscius
- Killer can be potato and miss you
- You can run DS (but it should be nerfed to not work as last survivior)
- You can Dead Hard/Sprint Burst to the exit
- If you get caught, killer gets bonus sacrifice and a BBQ stack.

That is certainly fair. Though to also be fair, it is possible that if the circumstances allowed for it, the Killer could have placed you on a slightly further hook such that 60 seconds wouldn't have cut it. If they allow last Survivor to unhook, I imagine more Killers would attempt to take such precautions.
Kobe is 4%, killers always have to consider it.

Hows about we all take a look at something really quick.
1. You have a 4 percent chance of getting off the hook already granted not much but still a chamce.
2. There are meny perks you can run to not only get off the hook but also to avoid being hit or even picked up (i.e. DS, delverence, unbreakable, ext).
And three its a survival game not a catering servace its ment to be chalanging but not unfair but to sugest that you should just get off the hook because your the last alive would be not only be tipping the scales in favor of the survivor but also just a waist of time because if the killer is smart they would have hooked everyone once already thus the survivor not being able to attempt escape.
If its only 4% then why not remove it altogether? Its not fun when surviviors unhook themselves.
"but to sugest that you should just get off the hook because your the last alive"
No, not because Im the last alive, because thats my first hook. First hook means you have escape attempts. And it should mean it always. What we have now is "tippin the scale" towards the killer not survivior. You are taking away their right to unhook themselves, just because they are last.
-
- You say that kobeing would let the last survivior escape from your deserved hook
- At the same time you say that kobeing survivior would get instantly downed and would give you free sacrifice
Make up your mind already

The reason behind hiding the MMR score is likely to prevent players from "gaming" the system and figuring out exactly how it works. This is an issue because gauging skill is not a defined feature of this game; basically because there is no clear win condition, and you can't simplify the system to just track wins and losses as most MMR systems do. DBD's system will need weights, adjustments and additional tracking of activities that occur within the match to determine the hypothetical "skill level" that a player preformed at. Some actions will be higher valued than others, and with that knowledge, players could prefer doing those actions to boost rank, or intentionally avoid them to rank up slower (to noob stomp).
You know, you dont have to show the EXACT numbers.
You dont need to know that your skill level is exactly 2137 points and you got 69 points last match. Everyone would be content with "Skill Ranks" eg: Iridescent rank: 2000+, Gold rank: 1500-2000 points, etc. And if your skill ratin increased or decreased in last match

It's a serious question, I really don't understand the benefit behind the decision to hide the player MMR score to everyone but ALSO your own to yourself. Imo it shouldn't be like that, how can you judge a match without knowing any of the numbers?

But we all know this game is comptitive as #########, and it will only worsen the problems we already have because good ol' Baind-Aid Fix BHVR doesn't actually want to tackle core problems in the game.
Just add an option in settings to hide your own rank from yourself if some "casul" is so disturbed by the sheer sight of it
