  • I'm really deeply sorry, you all can't abuse your stacking endurance anymore and actually have to make educated decisions, WHEN to take a hit. Especially in this endurance/bodyblocking meta, we have been in for the past few years, changes like this are more than welcome to anyone who actually cares about fair play.

But I do not expect any of the former perk/status effect abusers to fully understand that, of course :D

There are other killers that are also very much viable now. If anything, blight and nurse are overpowered now.

This game has some other issues that have higher priority than low tier killers. Camping and tunneling in particular, and certain slowdown perks being too strong, although at least thana might be addressed now? Very weird nerf though, because its going to be useless on most killers but still potentially strong on legion and plague.

So let me get this straight...just because YOU want it, BHVR should ignore buffing "low tier killers" and only adress tunneling/camping, because you don't like it? Sometimes I really wonder how entitled people can get

1- How can all survivors agrees do it this? In which secret headquarters they plan these things?

2- Who in the right mind would waste 3-4 hours of their day only to dc?

3- DC's isn't something new. They play against Spirit who is tunneling them early they get hit from 10 meters away then they rage dc, This isn't too uncommon.

4- Is the queue times also one of Survivoes evil plans?

I only wrote this because some Killer mains streamers started to say this. Which is stupid but im not surprised.

People say all this simply because it IS the sad, pathetic truth. Entitled survivor mains have gotten their will with this tactic over and over again (Spirit got nerfed via mass DCs, Freddy got nerfed via mass DCs), so for the past several years they've been conditioned that, if they DC against something often enough, things will change.

I really hope BHVR sees through all this and hard commits on this patch. If all those "crybabies" want to quit, raise the penalty for repeatedly DCing, they will leave eventually. And that would the best thing that could ever happen to this game!

  • I'm honestly overall really positively surprised by all the upcoming changes. The only thing I would still add, at least to the "basekit BT" is: it should deactivate, once the exit gates are powered. Otherwise, and especially combined with Off the Record, it WILL always be a guaranteed escape.

  • The biggest problem with this event is the idiotic way BHVR made masks obtainable for survivors again. Grab the item and no matter what, die or live, you'll get an item...that's how it was the last two events and it was perfect.

And NO, I don't buy into the brainwash attempt of any mod or whoever, who tries to convince us that they HAD to change it, because survivors were mass-suiciding in the past once they got their item. It simply is a lie...did some do it? Of course, but suiciding will always be a problem, so this change back to the old system comes purely out of, I don't know, sadism?

If one side has to rely on the other to obtain their event items in such a short time frame as 2 weeks, then it is simply stupid. Period!

  • Honest question: do you guys here really still believe BHVR's lies?

They don't tell you what calculations are running in the background, because there simply are none. For all those years, people have complained about bad/unfair matchmaking, so I assume, BHVR again takes the lazy/incompetent way and just disable every matchmaking criteria while hiding the ranks. Tadaaa, no complaints anymore, because you don't know how good or bad your enemy was, you got quicker queue times and everything else is "super duper hidden mechanics". Pathetic

Except every case of "bullying" I've seen in dbd is the exact things I've listed, which aren't really bullying besides the end game chat thing.

I had a killer dc over deception yesterday and then proceed to start typing N-bombs in chat, I don't think that was bullying but I certainly reported it and moved on and didn't make a huge thing about it on dead by daylight bc if the actions of the person were to be deemed bullying they'd be removed from the game after a report is looked at.

but instead people come to the forums and say they've been bullied when it usually means they've had a game where either the survivor or the killer was better than them, or they got DSd one too many times.

Whether you like it or not, EVERY form of unsportsmanlike behaviour can be seen as bullying, it all depends on how the opponent sees it. If someone is going through a tough phase in his life, he is trying to distract himself via this game and gets morons who tbag+flashlight click constantly just to mock him (or other way round has a killer who facecamps and slaps on hook for no reason), then yes, this can be seen as bullying.

But I'm pretty sure you already knew that and were just trying to get answers from OP, just so you can make fun of him, because I'm almost 100% sure you are one of those toxic people.

And regarding OP's question: they do it, because their lives are worthless and somehow deep down they know they are worthless. So they at least want to feel good in the game by trying to be the "tough one", when in reality all they do is sitting in their Mom's basement all day without any friends, crying themselves to sleep, because they know just how pathetic and meaningless their lives are.

  • Holy hell, it's about time that crap is over! Let's just hope it will never return...

you take away the launcher and he's punching and using whips so it's the same thing he'd do but without rocket launcher

jup, and I'm pretty sure Pinhead will most likely run around and attack with his chains. He does walk around quite a bit in all the movies too :)

  • Well, Nemesis usually has a rocket launcher in RE3 and in DbD he only whips his puny little tentacle. So I'm pretty sure a walking Pinhead with maybe his chains as his attack would definitely work.

As lazy as the devs are, we probably just get the mechanics of Nemesis, but with a chain instead of the tentacle.

  • Not yet, I'm still playing occasionally and am stupid enough to still buy the rifts to give myself a reason to play.

But if stupid crap like the horrible SBMM is implemented I'm finally gone for good. Which is sad, because I really love the concept of DbD, but incompetent devs/decisions and mechanics, that completely suck the fun out of the game, are a massive reason to just leave.

I have almost 500 hours in this game. I've never heard this before until today. Usually I'm thanked post-game for giving the last survivor the hatch. Or at least there's cool banter.

Today, the person sat in front of the hatch and didn't take it. I thought they AFK'd. But they didn't. In post-game chat, they called me a jerk and said giving the hatch was BM. What?

I was a Hag with Iron Grasp, Sloppy Butcher, Hex: Thrill of the Hunt, and Hex: Devour Hope. Nothing crazy, setup-wise.

You have made one mistake and it's THE most important mistake any killer player could ever make: you actually cared about what a survivor player said!

Don't do that. Play to your liking and ignore all the entitled little crybabies!

  • Guys come on, are you all really that naive or blind? They are hiding ranks for the EXACT SAME reason they won't tell us, how the SBMM calculates in the background. It simply doesn't. There IS no system behind all this, they just force the shortest queue times possible now, shove everyone together (total newbies with veterans), hide the ranks and if your experience wasn't fun, they can blame it on the SBMM "still having to calibrate a few things here and there".

At least when the game tried to put together matches with about the same rank range, games were fun. Some were easier, some were harder, but overall it was pretty balanced most of the time.

I have a bit over 600hrs in this game, played 2-3 Trickster matches since his release and wanted to try him yesterday for a few matches again. EVERY single one of them was a sweatfest, hardcore meta survivor builds, several keys and (since we asked each other in the after game chat), much higher ranks than me.

So, sorry for the harsh words, but: screw your SBMM, delete it and make sure it never comes back! It doesn't work in a game like DbD. Skill isn't measurable in this game, get this into your damn minds, devs!

SO WHY NOT CHANGE THE WAY THE VACCINE WORKS INSTEAD OF BRICK AN ENTIRE PERK?!?!??!

Because the way it works now, those poor crybaby survivor mains won't lose their precious keys anymore :D

    Please help me understand

Because that's the only action their two remaining braincells are capable of doing!

It's not easy playing normally, when your family tree is a circle.

  • It might sound a little far fetched, but I honestly think we can (at least partially) thank Home Sweet Home Survive for those quick changes to Trickster. More and more streamers have been unhappy with this DLC and the way, the whole community was ignored after they gave feedback on the PTB.

So they either uninstalled the game completely (at least for a short time) like Pug, or started playing other things...one of them being Home Sweet Home Survive. And for the first time ever, I feel there is real competition for DbD, so they had to do something very quickly. I hope it stays that way, a little pressure might get them off their high horses!

Don't be so ideological. They have a strict schedule and you can't just rush through a hotfix in a week, without having it be either a buggy mess, woefully overpowered, or both.

Doesn't have anything to do with being ideological. We all know, having the strict schedule they do PLUS having to deal with the whole COVID situation is not ideal for anyone. But from the very beginning along the whole design procedure of the Trickster, they should have seen all the problems he might have.

We are not demanding any changes to something that has worked for ages and suddenly we want it changed. That's not gonna happen in times like these, but releasing a killer in such a weak state AFTER all the feedback from the PTB and all the internal data since the very first design concept is just...it just blows my mind, how a company can operate like this.

  • Will it kill the game entirely? No! There are not enough people playing in that high area of MMR to worry about them, even if they left the game, I think. DbD is, and always has been, designed around the average player, and that exact player won't easily get into an MMR rating that high.

DbD lives off variety, every match is different. One time you go against 4 potatoes, next match is your own skill level and other times you face players, who will mop the floor with you. That's fine, that's (I assume) the way we all love it, because it's unpredictable and doesn't get boring quickly.

Now what MMR could do is, it could make players derank on purpose, when they get really good, because constantly going against your own high skill level will end in one sweatfest after another. As survivor you will most likely only face Nurses and Spirits and as killer you won't win many matches anymore without hardcore sweating, because going against a team of 4 equally skilled survivors won't be a breeze.

That's why I think MMR is nice for people who want to try a new killer and learn him, but for everything else it will most likely be horrible.

  • Same thing has been said about WoW for almost its entire lifespan up to now and that's 16 years now. Literally EVERY contestant was hyped, played a little and then died out.

The only exception is FF14, which has established a really solid playerbase and has been changed into a fantastic game, that can easily live right next to WoW for years to come.

But what alternatives are there for an established and "easy to pick up" game like DbD? There have been others and all of them have quickly faded: RE: Resistence, Last Year both had us in high hopes to be at least a worthy competition and what happened? Both died.

The only hope I now have is Home Sweet Home Survive, because even in its Early Access phase, it makes a whole lot of things right, is not overpriced and overall just fun to pick up and play. Will it wipe DbD out of existence? Certainly not, but it has the potential to at least be a worthy competitor and MAYBE make BHVR watch out and, for the first time ever, think about their future desicions and involve the playerbase before they lose them to another game.

  • As it has been mentioned a million times now, the change was definitely needed and is extremely healthy for the game overall.

The only thing I would have changed too: make DS activate after EVERY unhook, not only once and if you use it, it's gone. Then it would be most efficient in being "anti-tunnel", wouldn't it? If we want to make sure killers don't hardcore tunnel, make them watch out who to follow after EVERY unhook, not just after one and if DS is gone, it's a "I'm free to tunnel that one survivor" situation.

Thoughts? Would that be OP? I honestly don't know, since I'm always trying my best to specifically NOT tunnel and leave the unhooked person alone, so...

  • I mostly watch Tru3, because his streaming schedule fits my work schedule almost perfectly. Also I really love his educational approach at the game and most of the time he has a really balanced, healthy view on the game.

If you want to laugh your butt off though and you can stand any form of humor, I recommend Vinc3ntvega!

  • Because it requires absolutely no skill and can be done by everyone, even without a single brain cell. Same goes for tunneling/slugging/t-bagging and so on.

And since this is a team based game, it's only natural, that your teammates will try to save you...even it's only for the bloodpoints. This is the reason why I still think, camping and other "unfair" tactics need to be punished WAY harder. -50.000 BP for every minute camping (when not in a chase) is the bare minimum here, maybe all those toxic braindead killers will learn to play decent.

  • To be honest, repairing a gen should be a somewhat "scary" task, it's a horror game after all. So them being this loud and the survivors not being able to hear a killer approaching this easily, all add to the atmosphere, IMO.

I would really love for the gen sounds to stay the way they are, because let's be honest, until now they were so quiet you could even hear the shroud of a crouching Ghostface. That's not really my image of anything horror :)

  • Since almost everyone plays for bloodpoints, my solution would be:

if the killers stays within x meters of the hook and is not in a chase, he loses 10.000 bp every 10 seconds. Make it so it hurts those bastards.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1583210#Comment_1583210

As I said, the alternative to being slugged is being hooked. Why would it be more fun to be on the hook than ground?

are you really that stupid or just pretending? If you have such a small PP that you feel the need to slug, do it. Noone can really stop you. But on the hook, at least we can commit suicide against filth like you!

  • Because, when we're being honest, there are still a lot of garbage human beings playing killer, who tunnel/camp the hell out of you. So why would you sacrifice your own fun and get facecamped for minutes? Suicide and next match, simple as that!

  • Pure entitlement, nothing more. Those salty kiddos couldn't bully you, because their tiny little brains couldn't adapt to a person who plays well, and therefore it's automatically a "boring killer".

Those are the same people, that, after winning against any killer, write EZ. Simple brains, that must be ignored.

  • @KillScreen said:

    Because development goes though stages.

True, but what's the point of testing something on a PTB, that has already been changed? The major complaint about The Blight is his gigantic hitbox and the double fatigue at the end of a hit after the rush.

Both of those things have already been changed, but not every player on the PTB knows that, because it isn't written anywhere, you had to watch the livestream of a dev to find that out.

And who knows, maybe the updated version has some new flaws that need to be pointed out? But we will never know until he hits the live servers, because we are stuck with a version, that was outdated as soon as the PTB hit...

  • That's actually quite easy to answer: I play this game to have fun. Have exciting chases, do my objective and help my teammates.

If I'm facing a killer, who thinks he can tunnel or facecamp the hell out of me, my fun is ruined. Tell me one good reason why I should stay in a match, that makes absolutely ZERO fun and gift those baby killers any more bloodpoints?

So...d/c it is and on to the next match!

  • Nope. The very first thing we NEED to adress, is insta-down addons like the god-awful iri hatchets. Then Moris and THEN we can talk about punishing those who still want to escape the game early.

As long as all those mechanics remain in the game (and yes, keys are BS as well and need to be either removed or reworked), I completely understand everyone, who doesn't want to be part of minutes of stupidity.

  • Actually, there would be a really simple solution to fix camping/tunneling. Starting a chase with a just unhooked survivor? -5000BP + camping the hook for 30 seconds, also -5000BP.

    Problem solved

I actually like the new auras better than the old, because they seem more appropriate. Immersive, too. I play on High graphics and I can see them just fine, and they're not as jarring as the super brightly-colored old auras. I like to use Windows of Opportunity a lot, so I'll have to see how they look with that, but judging by the generator aura I'm sure they'll be fine as well.

I think people will be fine with the new auras once they get used to them (and quit complaining about them, just enjoy the game).

I'm sorry, but if you REALLY, honestly, believe that those god awful new auras look any better than the old ones, then you are either a massive troll or a straight up liar!

I'm not even talking about all those poor colorblind players, who can't see anything at all anymore...I'm talking about the general design of those things. While showing outlines might be a somewhat cool idea, they definitely need to be a whole lot thicker and brighter, so they can actually be seen from a distance.

As is, the new auras are simply unacceptable. Period!
