  • The BHVR team does not support any type of configuration changes in the menus on any platform.. There are still no display options on the PC after almost 4 years. There is no reason to think that will ever change. I'm guessing ALL of the BHVR team went day drinking rather than attend the "Menus 101" class for the Unreal Engine training course.

Outside of that, like most of the "we didnt want to let users change that since it's tied into our core game mechanics in fantasyland" missing menu/user options, you can sort it out, outside of the game.

Install the Xbox accessory app and create a profile with the sens. you want for DBD.

  • LOL So basically, here are the 2 arguments:

Side A: I paid $xx for this game as my entertainment, and I'm being forced to play the aspects of it that I do not enjoy, or I'll get punished.

Side B: I shouldn't have my game ruined because you're not having fun. I paid $xx for this game and that means you have to play regardless of your interest.

BHVR: WE MADE THE GAME. WE'LL DECIDE WHATS FUN AND NOT. WE'LL NERF WHATEVER REMAINS AND THEN GOD CAN SORT EM OUT...(Now, should I shoot my left foot, or right foot...hmmm. Wonder what bing recommeneds)

Looks like another complete waste of time and resources due to a dev's stubborness.(just like dedicated servers) Instead of getting to the bottom of why people disconnect, or putting incentives in that make all but the biggest idiots disconnect, they say - We made the game, we'll decide what's fun now do it our way or else. And it's done in a game where the matchmaking system is disturbed by the wind blowing....oh just LOL.

NB4 the 45 minute queue times become a "good day"

The news about The Spirit nerf are really awful. I mean, for the time being she's the only killer that is able to stop coordinated SURVIVE WITH FRIENDS on comms from teabagging at the exit gates after doing five gens in three minutes (hi, nerfed Nurse). I can never believe that BHVR are that blind. It's not the killers they should nerf, nor the survivors. It's SWF! My suggestion is to make all actions 20% slower for each one SWF member, and also grant the killer +100% bloodpoints for playing vs SWF as well as allowing them to see, which survivors in the lobby are "friends". And when someone plays solo survivor, the should be awarded with +100% bloodpoints and obviously not suffer the slowdown.

    Your thoughts?

If DBD, through EAC or any other method tried to block communication apps or any other legitimate application, they should be blacklisted by gamers and put out of business. End-of-discussion.

You have no idea what terrible precedent you are demanding.

How about BHVR does what every single other successful multiplayer game in the industry does, and balance their game around a team communicating. I know right, what a crazzzzzzy concept.

Absolutely dumbfounded by the level of entitlement and ignorance displayed by the current gaming communicty These kids today actually are OK with necessary options being taken away from them, and allowing developers to completely take advantage of them and they don't even realize it. Cool skins though bro.

I just played a match with three lowbies, I was the highest rank in the team. After the match which ended swiftly with a 4K I noted the killer was also of lowbie rank but had high grade perks, like the best ones you can get. The team I was with were all on one or maybe two YELLOW perks, the ones the survivor character comes with when played new. I understand the rank reset issue tends to go away after a few days as everyone climbs back to the rank they were before the reset.

But it seems wrong to farm people like this, in my opinion. Since I know killer mains are reading the forum I wondered what their opinion is of this. Please note I am not asking for a nerf or anything like that, but I felt it was unfair to the three newer players I was with that's all.

Experienced killer vs inexperienced survivors = perks make very little diffrence. Like getting thrown off the grand canyon vs getting thrown out of an airplane. I'd be thankful for a quicker death, personally.

    good 'ol matchmaking.

  • My concerns have nothing to do with the tournament. My posts on the DC problem and many other concerns are all in my post history going back many many months. Feel free to take a read @martin27 you may learn a thing or 2.

They simply spot-lighted a problem that already was rampant. The streamers made a joke out of them and their silly "rules" which I absolutely thought was epic in front of likely 10-15k people scattered across many streamers. Totally the pie in the face BHVR deserved on the issue. That my friend, is Karma.

  • Everyone knows they made boxer-briefs back then. cmon. makes perfect sense.

He had a pair of "tighty-whiteys" in the movie, but I guess that showed too much thigh when vaulting so the choice was made to deviate from the creator's design.

I hope John Carpenter catches wind of this and makes you guys fix it.

Maybe it wouldnt be so bad if there were other parody or joking style skins / costumes in the game, but there's not.

2019 - The year BHVR began to have fun with killer skins. Unfortunately it was just due to poor cosmetic design choices and completely an accident. hahah i kill myself!

  • ok so you don't enforce rules in custom games, even the dc threshold, exploits are not OK but we don't consider purposely DC'n to enable a game mechanic to activate, thus bypassing said mechanic an exploit...

So can I find a cheat program and enable cheats in custom games? Can I hack the gamefiles and use my own skins in said games? What about giving myself all items and skins for cutom games, is that OK? See where this is going? You created a rule. You worded it the way you did. It's obviously an action that allows something you have forbidden (dc) to give an outcome that otherwise would not have likely been the result. (obviously I know the answers to the above but they are just examples)

It's insanity to create a rule that says purposly exploiting game mechanics for an unfair advantage will result in disciplinary action, and not consider a DC so the hatch pops open, a direct example of said rule.

It's like that game of kickball where the kid who owns the ball can make up the rules as he goes along or he'll take his ball home. Well, the other kids might go along with that if he is the only kid with a kickball in town...but...eventually....there WILL be someone else with a kickball and he'll get told to pound sand and end up sitting on the bench.

  • Capture.PNG

Lets try to stay consistent here, shall we Penits. I mean, being an official rep of the game and all......

If you're going to publicly confirm what anyone in their right mind would absolutely consider an exploit anyways...

Why do so many people hate the battle pass addition? I truly want to know because I don't think it seems that bad. I may be naive because I haven't played any other games with a battle pass, but this actually sounds good.

First, it is totally optional (doesn't affect gameplay if you don't buy it).

Second, there is a free version that not only gives you free items, but also shows you where you would be on the paid version. (Which you can buy at any time and still receive all those items)

Third, you can actually earn auric cells back so if you want the next battle pass you can get it at a discount (or free if you manage to do everything)

Fourth, I actually like the idea of side objectives. I always do the dailies and this will help change it up.

Yes, I know it is a cash grab but if the money stops coming in then so do the new chapters, killers, survivors, and maps. I think this is a great thing to keep the game growing without forcing anyone to buy anything...

So what are the negatives that I am missing?

There used to be a time in PC gaming, where the devs actually had to work for their money. Releasing a buggy, broken, unfinished game would result in a complete failure of that title and possibly the developer.

Now, they can release absolutely garbage alpha state games, make you pay to play them, while they continue to work on em, and appease the kids suffering from acute ADHD (their target audience) by adding some different color t-shirts to the game and charging 10 bucks each for 5 minutes of work by a graphic designer. Parents will dish the money out to keep their kids busy and not disrupt their health food/yoga/what is my cat doing today live streams.

It's a successful business model for sure, but highlights the general stupidity of most gamers who snag up their mommy or daddy's credit card for the cool new blue t-shirt, since the red tshirt was so last week.

    Pathetic.

It is like this for everyone, we're awaiting a fix from Vanilla!

Is the software free? Why are you guys still using such a garbage forum platform? Quotes havent worked right for months and months,or just flat being unable to post, post getting deleted if you try to edit it too much and so on and so on. It's a freaking internet forum for goodness sakes. My 12 year old nephew, who's not some child software prodigy at programming, designed a better forum for his baseball team. Hilarious!

It's 2019, almost 2020. This is a simple, simple thing nowadays as there's almost 20 years of programming and forum platform programming history, and you guys can't even get this right! What is wrong with you people? Get it together already. Utter garbage.

Maps like Lery's and the Game physically can't have any other gate locations. It'd be fun to see them open the fake gates and get instakilled, but that'd be a joke, not something I'd want in the game.

While I agree on all points except the gamma/brightness stuff... You're not going to get anywhere with that attitude. Why would the devs bother with such a toxic post?

This is you: "You're adding good features like better friends mechanics and dedicated servers?! REEE Give me ONLY more graphics options!"

No, that's not me. I don't think EITHER of those "features" is good. Dedicated servers are a complete waste of the apparent limited resources they have, and don't even get me started on the "friends mechanics" as there isnt even voice chat in the game, when it's integrated into the graphics engine on which the games based.

Perhaps the snowflakes who don't know what they're missing need to have someone like me, call out basic things missing that should be included with all games, especially when you slap PC gamers right in the face with something as silly as this.

  • Let me put it another way.

You can hack a computer, but you can't use a "life" hack. It's a word that people who are ignorant to the real definition, use. That same thing has happened because a bunch of kids bought little boxes to go on their controllers. It's funny to see it as the "definition" though now, on several of the top Google results for the definition. Again, all created out of ignorance.

  • well that just simply makes 2 people wrong in this thread. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they exist. But they exist, because people who know, are capitilizing on the people that don't know. Lag switching has been around since the beginning of online video games.

  • @Pulsar said:

Please, look up the definition of lagswitching that I copy and pasted above.

I'm not sure if you're trolling or if the site you used to find that definition is trolling.

I'll just say that "lagswitching" is defined by saturating your internet connection to cause a massive number of dropped or delayed packets during a multiplayer game.

Just trust me on this bud, the internet is flooded with incorrect and mis-information - and this is a great example.

  • This add-on only works(and given, works extremely well) once you are very familiar with the structures and understand how mind-games work around them and pallets, or against very bad survivor's on a killer friendly map.

I don't think an Ultra-Rare should have that many conditions needed to be powerful.

@Almo exactly my point..well yah, your a dev. you probably helped build or have vast insight of the structures and know them intimately. Of course you'll 4k most times.....Since your perk classification scheme (ultra-rare, rare etc.) has literally NOTHING to do with how common they are, maybe change the scheme to how difficult they are to use......

  • @Aikanaro said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/629580#Comment_629580

So because they genrush you want to punish them? for doing their objectives? nobody gets chased in the whole match? nobody heals anyone??? nobody gets hooked????

Thats a bad killer, newer players feel great when they escape, not when they lose with fake exit gates, ruin, noed and stuff like that.

Don't look at it like punishing survivors, look at it like the entity wants to make it a challenge when obviously things didn't go as intended in its design.

There are several killers which have an extremely slow pace for the better part of the match, then become much more powerful at endgame. In the right situation, especially on the larger maps, this can lead to regular players turning into a depip squad with how gens are done and the right perks/add-ons. There may only be one hook and one heal and one chase, but regardless it turns into a very quick match. I play survivor 90 percent of the time, and those matches are the most boring.

I'm wondering if some of the responses are from people who think they are good by just pressing m1 the entire match. That's boring and not really a win. I didn't do anything and skipped most of the content in the game because of happenstance.

  • @Aikanaro said:

Reward a bad killer? no thanks, let him lose the game and move on.

Survivor's who genrush on that level don't get any rewards either. No points, almost certainly a safety pip. Only an escape, which doesn't even matter as no statistics are kept. Besides this just doesnt happen for the lower ranks and could help with the frustration newer players feel when just starting out as killer.

  • IMHO, the biggest problem is how common they are in the bloodweb. These things need to actually be something you see in 1 in 30 games and not 1 in 5. That's not even uncommon at that point and approaching normal.

The devs really fortnited it up when it comes to the stats on these things. pink mori's are even more common than green and yellow which is just so stupid. Just remove the titles of "ultra rare, rare etc.." they mean nothing at this point.

  • I've never had a killer get mad for survs. not healing and I've not seen it come up on the forums as killer complaint before either. What info led you to think killers get upset if you don't? Even the kings of gen-rushing 4 man swf's heal but as with most things, it's very situational.

  • You should fix the title of the thread though man. It's a very newbro type thing to do on the webz.

  • Taking a step towards fixing an uncontrollable variable, as a key game mechanic. ie, getting rid of the moonlight offerings.

They pretended like they actually had total control over a persons monitor brightness settings and vid card brightness/color controls when the game was on the drawing board and made it part of the game play which was beyond moronic. Moving away from that was a HUGE step in the right direction.

  • agreed on it being heavily rooted in the game but I'd say in regards to work needed of adding a secondary objective, vs reworking the exit points on 2 maps and adding fake exit spawns, the later would be vastly more plausible, compared to the work/time needed for most of the recommended secondary objective suggestions

  • @YaiPa said:

Makes no sense. In some maps there's literally no way to place them, or at least in a way to pretend their legit (lery's or gideon), if the exits appear, survivors can easily check before the true exits, and most important, that's not how you counter game lasting few minutes.

well yeah those 2 maps would need re-work but they shouldnt have perm locations for exits on any of the maps imo so that's no biggie.

So how would you counter the crazy short games?

Dont know with 1 but everytime i kick a gen you get blodpoints for it and blodpoints goes into the emblems right ? so surely it has to go to something @LordGlint

The regression thingy aswell to make a gen go down in progress.

Common misconception and don't feel bad as anyone would think the same. Emblems are based off of stats in the game and specific actions/outcomes, not your points in the category. Go read each of the emblems and do your best to decipher the overly-complicated explanations on each and how they apply to your rank.

  • Play my t2 myers with insidious on Leiry's and I'll show you how fun the game can be, and make you change your shorts. I use insidious with that build but not near the hook. If the gen layout is awful it's a bust but usualy it's a lot of fun and never any salt. I also get 1 or 2 gen grabs per game when the rng map gods are good to me. Here's the build - try it!

    Add-ons = Dead Rabbit/Vanity Mirror

    Offering - Shattered Glasses

    Perks: BBQ, Discordance, Insidious, Monitor&Abuse

Vanity will not only allow you to do some seriously spooky #########, but also let you cut off survivors from good loops. Once you get your first hook, head to a gen that's being worked on, find a good hiding spot and just wait.

They'll come back. They always come back. muahahahahahahah

  • He is an M1 killer, mid to bottom tier. You don't use his power to tunnel/down one survivor like old legion, you use it to slow the game down.

When it comes down to it, like all of the m1 killers, you have to be able to find and catch a survivor.

Old legion was either god tier against bad survivors or below trash tier against good ones.

Use his power to locate multiple survivors and stop the gen rush. Get away from the ones you hit and spread out. Try running thano and sloppy butcher. Stop trying to tunnel the one you hit with Frenzy.

    Heyo,

I went ahead and looked into this. When you filed your ticket, you put it under the "Other" category instead of the "Additional Player Report Information" category. These tickets go to the general support agents, not the ACM team that normally deals with reports. The general support agents cannot process that report, and since it was filed in the wrong section, key information that the ACM team would need would not be included in the ticket, so they couldn't forward it to the right people.

If you resubmit your ticket in the correct section, someone will be able to process that report.

    Sorry for the confusion!

thank you for the reply, I'll resbumit and try to find the right category. The response from your customer service should have been that it needed to be resubmitted using that category.not that "future request...." Also, the label you use in your ticket system should be Report - Additional Player Information. I missed it because like most, I looked at the first word to try to find the category, and there are probably many that can be combined since they go to the same person which would keep it even easier to locate.

When I read the line we can't process ...due to streamlining our systems" I didnt even finish the email. That should be stricken from any type of auto/canned response your reps use, just some advice.

    thanks again.

  • Information for programmers developing with Unreal Engine.

  • The problem is that people think their points and score categories have ANYTHING to do with the rank system. The only thing they share are the names. And there are 4 of them. And the wording. Ok anyone with half a brain would make that assumption but in actuality there are specific actions that result in rank.

Your teamates performing a bunch of unsafe unhooks will totally hurt your altruistic emblem for example.

It's like a running back in American football accumulating amazing stats for the year but his rank is actually based off of not only his team's performance, but how pretty the Ice Skating judges thought his form was while running down the field. Pure-Comedy-Gold!

That's actually a very interesting idea. Might be a little steep to consider it reusable, you'd have to get hit 6 times in a game just to use it twice. But it would make healing in the late game more viable over just rushing generators for adrenaline, and it could be used to heal up quickly and go for an end game save.

It's we'll make it, but for yourself and that's just how Ash rolls so...lol.. There are some killers it'll be worthless against and others it would shine. Definitely agree would be a gamechanger at end game but being a perk that shouldnt be complained about too much imo. (though it still will be)

oh and almost forgot, the best part - it's NOT dependent on another mechnic (protection hits) so you are wiping the variable problem right out! KISS KISS

  • The absolute trash part on BHVR's side is that it's explicitly in the rules:

"abusing game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage", yet they totally ignore it, even when proof is submitted.

And then, they take it a step FURTHER by saying in public, they won't do anything about it and it's not a bannable offense. Just keep your mouths shout at least. When you make a public statement like that you are basically saying "we approve"

  • The fact he doesn't at least have that full black suit and tie from one of the most iconic horror movie scenes of all time, the end of the original TCSM, is a travesty IMO.

Being denied all of the Justin Timberlake "suit and tie" memes hurts me everyday. 😓

  • Mettle of Man: After being hit 3 times by the killer, Mettle of Man activates, allowing you to heal yourself at 150% normal healing speed. Self-care or medkit NOT needed. Does not stack with other perks or items. Once the perk activates and you reach full health, all tokens are lost. Reusable.

the way it helps color blind people is usually by making certain colors brighter, more visible. if someone isnt color blind it'll be easier for them to spot certain stuff than it normally is if they use it.

There are litterly 30 other ways to change your color settings. This is not a valid excuse anymore. They got rid of the moonlight offerings to make the ambient lighting of a map much less of a factor - as it should have been from the start. At this point, they just don't want to bother with it. There is no other possible reason.

To the OP, there is software both on Nvidia Cards and ATI cards that can help with color blindness. If you need help, just shoot me a message. They won't work as well as the devs actually doing it on their end, but they can make the game playable for people with a disability.

    Nvidia:

If you read about NVIDIA's announcements from CES 2018, you can be forgiven for thinking that the company's "Freestyle" graphics filters were a bit of a gimmick.

Integrated in Windows 10 (may not work on all systems in-game, never tested)

You can enable or disable Colorblind Mode in Windows 10 by using a keyboard shortcut, using the Settings Page options or by tweaking your Registry.

Once I find a good guide for AMD cards I'll post it.

Edit - here is an old post with very simple instructions:

I've seen some posts asking about colorblind modes on DBD before. I'm sure that some of you know this already, but I didn't until just a little while ago - Windows 10 does offer some settings to help people with colorblindness. Was added in a November Update I started playing killer a lot more recently and while it's been fun for the most part, I was having a real hard time seeing certain things on the maps at times. Scratch marks sometimes were real hard to follow, for example.

  • I disagree. One time, I found an awesome way to hack this apple pie. I hacked it on the counter and on the oven. I used ground cumin as my secret ingredient but don't tell noones.. was so good.

then there was the time I hacked this gutter that was leaking. I hacked it till it hurt.

I hacked DBD by putting vaseline all around the screen. It's sooooo much easier to see the hex totems that way. They get so shiny it hurts your eyes sumtimes.

  • The reveal mechanic is terrible, for both the survivors and the killers. I've had Ghostface dead center of my screen with both standing still and the reveal didn't happen before exposed, and even the killer said his stalk meter was 0. I've seen streamers unable to stalk or get revealed from survivors that are either 2 blades of grass on Spirits map away, or conversely behind a wall entirely and he is revealed....

BHVR forgot to take into account that not everybody uses a 3rd person camera the same way in regards to their default position. They just assumed the way they test, "is how everyone" does it. I tend to hold mine close to the center, but lots hold them high, or low and it really screws them over.

Then to boot, it's just simply broken as mentioned above. Network latency, FPS, even a gamers resolution can offer huge benefits or drawbacks to this mechanic, hence it should have been scrapped before it ever left the whiteboard.

They already had a solid, established stalking model to use for a killer in the game. I guess they were scared people would say the kilers are too much alike so they added the reveal portion, instead of going another route that didnt require adding something so complex and dependent on so many variables. BHVR always says "yeah we have this on the board for a rework and it's something we'd like to revisit soon", all the while bringing out very complex mechanics that will just get put on that same list, which they already admitted is vast. KISS should be the absolute raining champion of business models for them, yet I don't think they are humble enough to get it.

I'm so glad all of his perks are absolute useless or are already in the game in better forms, and I was never a fan of the scream franchise. Absolutely no reason to buy him and the few games I get against him, depending on the add-ons, I usually just tap out and move onto the next game right away.

  • Honestly myers with certain builds on certain maps is the only killer who really adds any intensity to the game for me at this point. That sounds like a fun match though and well played

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Whily Moris in itself are terrible designed, I dont think there should be a way of escaping them.

First of all, it needs to be a super low chance and this will most likely be not worth the effort to implement animations for that. It is not the case that Moris are used on a regular basis, and lets say it would be 1%... When I look at my games, I get a Mori like every 10 games at average? This means that to have this 1% working, I need to play 1000 games(when we go straight for the statistic) to have it happen. Is this worth to implement for 17 Survivors and 16 Killers?

Furthermore, I dont want to have that chance. I mean, when the Killer starts to Mori me, I KNOW it is over. I dont want to have like 1% chance, which I will not hit and then be disappointed about that.

And as Killer, if I want to mori someone because he was a Dick in a earlier game, I would be really pissed when he gets his 1% chance and gets away.

    sorry didnt see your response.

See at that point, I'd have to say if I'm that upset the mori escaped, it would be a reminder that I'm taking the game too seriously.

But yes, too much work vs the frequency and current workload, agreed.

  • @Cardgrey said:

O.o make it were the keys have a chance of not fitting the lock same % chance as the Mori escape

well now that's just simply boring. The discussion here is not "new ways for rare escapes to happen", it's adding a complete set of visuals, to one of the most dramatic visual experiences in the game.

Maybe if the key blew up, or we got a long sequence of Ash going absolutely apeshit, or Nea falling on the ground having a baby like temper tantrum it's be funny....

Anyways, I think I've discussed this past a point to where I am actually feeling guilty at how much work this would involve, vs. how many absolutely broken basic things are in the game. Even discussing this amount of work when the game has less display options available to players, than a game from seriously, 1995, totally kills it.😕 Bummer.

  • Have you personally checked each and everyone? I'm guessing Huntress has more than just hatches hidden up her dress! lol

  • @DemonDaddy said:

You already have a chance to escape it, win the chase. Auto saves take the fun and challenge out of using skill.

again I think some of you are really missing the point. The game is already set that RNG can and will sometimes, trump any amount of skill.

This is just a novelty idea.

  • @Rydog said:

I think your last sentence adequately answers the question.

yeah yeah i know that's why I said it, but you can't deny, some of the animations they could come up with could be very cool. I can't say as a killer I'd be upset if RNG hit me with something with a 1% or less chance, that resulted in a cool animation. I'd actually feel somewhat privledged to see it and I'm sure an achievment could be added to both sides aka "Get denied a mori by Nea..Get mori dodged by Meg.." etc vice versa for the survivors...

Again, just a thought and topic for discussion. 😋

  • @Ceiling_Entity said:

Time is already against the Killers; the longer a match goes, the more generators are completed.

I'd rage if I spent 3-4+ minutes chasing, hitting, hooking, finding, chasing, downing, and then Mori-ing and the game went 'Lol, nope!'

Plus, the game is about the hopelessness for the Survivors; even if they escape, it's only a matter of time before they gets Sacrificed again. Allowing 'fight back' animations would be..silly.

ahem..like the 4 percent already in the game for a Kobe? Or the RNG for some tiles that give adjacent L-walls, next to the killer shack or large structure like coal house etc.? You must rage a lot already then. This game is already massively RNG at it's core.

Also, you are a glass is half empty kinda guy too, right? The killers never actually "kill survivors", they are brought back the entity and they have to do it again....and again....that's the point. The mori is not anything final or permanent. Simply something applied to that instance.

  • It's a magical world that removes the ability for survivors to speak in any way, {other than to scream and Ash to do his "zippy" one liners of course) And you guys are complaining footsteps don't sound realistic? Really?

100% convienced that they left the characters speaking out of the game, so as to not have one less bit of ammo which could be thrown at them for not putting voice comms in a modern teambased game, when most others had them 10 years or more prior.

This game was made on a shoestring budget. That's why they didnt bother with voice, proper testing, configurable options for display settings, map design, perk design etc. Unfortuantely after the game got OUT of the shoestring budget, they kept doing things as if they were still on one.

  • You really shouldnt worry about pips or rank. It really means nothing. Getting upset about bloodpoints is understandable, but not to a point where, a killer who wants the match over, should upset you. Just move on to the next match.

Sadly us Ultrawide users are such a minority on Dead By Daylight and other games that abhorrent discrimination is commonplace throughout the gaming industry against us and we are treated as second class gamers because of the shape of our monitors, truly a disgusting gamer society we live in. It's time for Ultrawide users to rise up and seize the means of Resolution production.

Even poor Ash has been lobotomized by the constraints of Behaviors resolution!

ROFL. That's like people saying "Let's overthrow the government because congress doesn't offer decaf coffee to it's interns "..... meanwhile, all schools have closed due to lack of funding, highways are shut down, and we are being invaded by Wizard of OZ lollipop people who are only using weapons made of licorice. 😂

How bout let us pick if we want vsync on or not first? lololol

  • Killers who are not good at finding survivors or don't feel like patrolling gens will proxy camp.

Survivors who don't feel like doing gens will camp the hooked survivor themselves and unhook as soon as the killer is slightly out of range.

It's different for every match and the real complaint should be that survivors and killers are either too lazy or bad to know when the correct strategy should be used. It's as simple as that.

Camping/Proxy/Altruism all have their place. Direct your frustration at the stupidity or inexperience of most to know when they are.

  • I use a 165Hz monitor on a 2080Ti and when I uncap or limit the FR (to match refresh) a few things happen... (vsync off, maxfps=165 or 999)

    1. Killers report me as being laggy and out of sync
    2. I get microstutters, even worse than the ones that happen during skillchecks and just looking around @60FPS. It takes me 3-4 matches for my eyes to get adjusted to this archaic framerate/engine programming after I play nearly any other properly designed game.
    3. Skill-checks are silky smooth though
    4. My machine will randomly hard reboot at the "initializing" screen or right after the offering screen
    5. DBD does a full file check which absolutely thrashes my SSD's (over 500MB/s read for 3-4 minutes, each time.

Just some things to keep in mind. DBD is not like games of old. It was built using a console game's model, even though it was intended for the PC. That is why there are exactly 0 options when it comes to the graphics, even though it's based off of one of the most user adjustable graphics engines to ever be created.

The hilarious part is, on the offering or loading screen, when framerate is uncapped, on a powerhouse of a system, the FPS hits about 90-100 rendering nothing but fog. just lol. Should give you some idea how lackluster the optimization is.

I've worked with DBD support and they haven the foggiest, nor do they really care from what I can tell. I just start ignoring them once the full circle of tech support hopelessness happens - aka: "please go run the userbench and reply with the results..." (even though my ticket was opened with them) At that point I know they are just replying to keep SLA down and move on to the next ticket.
