  • Seriously did MM just get flipped back over to the timer system again?

  • Sounds like you didn't buy the copy of DBD that came with the "Behaviour Recommended Pre-Calibrated PC Monitor". Behaviour wanted to be the first developer that required your to buy and play on their monitor but I don't think enough copies of that edition shipped because this is a common complaint. Matter of fact, they were so confident everyone would buy their "Pre-Calibrated PC Monitor Edition" that they just plain left out basic display settings within their game!

Don't worry, if you are one of the many other people who aren't using the same monitor that the DBD graphic developers are using and intended you to play on, have no fear. You can typically adjust brightness and gamma settings within your monitor or graphics card control panel. The control panel is preferred as you can create a profile and have it apply only when DBD is running.

Wow you sure opened our eyes to BHVR's sick practices. I'm sure all of what you said is exactly what they're doing and it's absolutely disgusting.

    Good, glad to hear it.

  • If Bhvr implemented a server browser, or a method of choosing your game and game parameters, (maps, players, ping times, ranks etc. etc.), it would completely break DBD. The game would grow stale very quickly. It would lose all it's toxicity, which is what is keeping this game going.

The game is the perfect platform for trolls, drama, internet tough guys, cheaters and just overall toxic people. It's what let DBD carve out it's little niche on the market.

BHVR will never block or allow the tools that would stop supplying the toxic fuel supply that's keeping this game alive.

I mean, they don't even have an option to change the brightness or gamma in-game. How funny is it to even ask for something like a server browser, or better communication, or proper graphic option settings, or or or...

  • Hey Killers and and Tocix Survivors. i know, you have much fun, if the killer you are playing against isn´t the best. And you shall have that fun.

you honestly should not play multiplayer games man. people like you scare me in that I'm worried I'm gonna see ya on the news someday responsible for mass shootings. Seriously, drop multiplayer games and find another hobby. You do not have the mentality to survive the internet, much, much less this game which is like the super dodgy, dark back alley of the internet.

  • We are BHVR.

    Next, we are going to:

    1. Restrict your desktop mouse dpi settings so everyone plays with their mouse the same way
    2. Reprogram your ambient lighting so you don't gain an unfair advantage, or have anything to distract from their amazing in-game lighting design
    3. Restrict your printer to B/W only
    4. Enable EAC to prevent the game from starting if your fans are going to fast
    5. Enforce Edge as your default browser
    6. Confirm your last eye doctor visit and make sure you can pass the DBD Standardized Vision Supplemental and Lighting Dissipation Test (we just call this one STD for short)
    7. Verify (with a photo) your fish tank filter is clean. This is very important for a fluid game play experience. Like super important.
    8. If over 40, confirm your last prostate exam/visit. Must post results.

Go elsewhere then, do this in any competitive game and you're banned. BHVR doesn't enforce their rules because too many of the community are doing this.

All multi-player games are competitive in some form, in all but the most care-bear of PoE games. Even then there is some level of competition usually. (who can out damage who or who has more items etc..etc..)

It's people like you that need to go elsewhere. Go play CS Go or LoL or Dota where other players take their games as serious as you.

DBD is so far from being anything that could be considered esport/pro / serious competition gameplay it's absolutely mind boggleing that a person would even lightly regard it in that manner. Or perhaps you are just trolling. In the hopes that intellgent life on planet earth has not devolved to that of a donkey with a half a brain with a deformity to boot, I'm going to just hope you were trolling.

Note that the option only seems to be available to survivors. SWF would abuse the ######### out of this.

Survivor or Killer, should begin the match with 4 other players. It should be available to all players in the match, if the game began in the lobby with 5 total (4 others....)

Some killers would stay because it's much easier to "win" against 3, some wouldn't.

It doesn't mean jack #########. The game simply does not work with only 4 players. it's designed to work with 5 total and is completely broken otherwise.

  • BHVR rules say DC'n to gain an unfair advantage. I DC because there are times when the game's programming and planning make it very "not fun"

Maybe some people have lost the idea that a game is supposed to be entertaining and fun, which is why we spend out money on it.

If a game ever forced me to not have fun and punished me for not suffering such, it would be uninstalled and my money would go elsewhere.

Just don't heal against Legion. He is a 110% movement speed killer so he will not catch up easily without his power. Any survivor should be able to loop a Legion for a while unless he uses his power. But when he uses his power he has to hit you for 4 times so that takes a while where the other teammates can do gens. Even with mixtape it takes way longer than any decent nurse can down you.

The fact that you don't heal against Legion gives you a lot more time to repair gens so it's actually easier to gen rush.

Just adapt to meta changes, there is a no heal meta right now and I haven't used selfcare in ages either. You don't need it. Deadhard is really good and adrenaline and that's all you need basically.

And don't complain about ruin, that makes you look like a bad survivor if you ask me. Any killer can use ruin and it's not hard at all to hit great skill checks. Ruin gets cleansed very easily anyway so that's not a problem if you are a good survivor.

very obvious you did not read my post so here is a bunny with a pancake on it's head, which is more relevant than your response. :) :)

  • Behavior can't give options when matchmaking. Until now, they've managed cue times by making meta changes in the game so players are inspired to play one or the other when something get's out of balance rather than just fix the matchmaking.

It's obvious they want to control the matchmaking.

Played a same killer 3 matches in a row? Don't care, get back in there.

Played the same map 3 times in a row? Don't care, you are matched.

Playing with a ######### SWF with 2 players 10 ranks higher than you? Don't care, go suffer them.

Playing with a killer who just wants to farm or depip? Nope, can't see any stats so you know if that's what your getting into before the match.

Playing with an urban immersion corner healing locking hiding Claudette who changes their name every match? We laugh at your misfortune and give you no options to never match up with that player again.

In most other games, players do their own self regulation of the game play to some degree. Either calling people out on voice comms, opting to just not play with them ever again, etc. That does not exists in DBD. Behavior does not care about that as their matchmaking system does not allow it without more clever programming.

And on the programming note, I'll end my rant. Let's just say it's very obvious the DBD devs have a diffrent view or perspective of the game than experienced players. It's a big disconnect which led content like Legions problem now, Nurse etc.

    IMO.

  • Behavior nerfed healing, buffed the perks that slow healing (or made them relevant) then released a killer who (while most should understand this by now) causes survivors to go around and heal the entire match when they shouldn't be.

This was not enough to break of the Self Care meta unfortunately and caused a huge break in continuity of game play and quite simply, enjoyment.

Survivors still run to the far corner and spend 90-120 seconds healing themselves.

A legion running ruin, mix tape, sloppy butcher and than? See ya. Survivors gonna keep DC'n on ya. You run that build you can pretty much guarantee it and there is no blame but yourself.

Same thing goes with a well practiced nurse or billy. You run ruin and OP perks when you have the skill to make the game fun without them? See ya.

Totally not easy to abuse in any conceivable way.

    such as?

  • The problem is in big part the matchmaking and the player ID system.

I've had days where I play the same killer, 5-6 times in a row. And not just the same player, but the diff players as that same killer and sometimes literally the same killer. I have no idea what killer I'm facing or who the killer is until the game starts and I can look at their steam ID.

This is not a tournament game. I didn't buy this game for esports. I bought it to have fun.

Unfortunately, players who get boosted to low ranks, or killers who play the same killer and do the same tactics (good or bad, not the point) can rip the fun out of this game like pulling a wart off of hags ass with your teeth.

BHVR can't let us use server browsers, see who the killer is, see what the rank of the other survivors is, let us see if we in a lobby with a 3 man SWF (who are usually the worst of all teammates and make the most toxic killer look like the Pope or their matchmaking system would be completely broken, as that's how they decided to play their cards. It's a terrible idea, was from the start, and another example of why trying to "meta" control players games will lead to frustration and long forums threads or something that it broke, like this one about "DC".

Let's talk about the killers who are running the game on a 1994 HP laptop with a 56k connection. How are they allowed to host? 1 in 4 of my games, starts the lobby with a green, stable ping, but turns out to be a Wizards teleport convention once the killer begins to move.

Let's talk about the killers who have no interest in playing the game and only want their daily. Let's say it's the "kill 1 survivor by your own hand" They kill the survivor, and then go afk. I don't farm, but isn't that the same thing as DC'n if you look at it from a "play the game to have fun" perspective and not a "Oh I didn't rank up or get max blood-points that round" perspective??

Punishing people who DC because the game is not fun, would cost BHVR a big part of their player base. I think there is a reason why their rules says "DC for an unfair advantage or to win". That is meta gaming and ######### and should be punished.

  • I must have missed it in the patch notes. I had a ticket in May of last year for a problem with my character progress and the final response from support was there was nothing they could do because they didn't store player data and can't help remotely. Looks like it was patched in June.....

Thanks for the info and glad it's fixed. Good work devs.

with the way they seem to program, you're probably right, sadly.

No matter how you program, it's still not as easy as that. They would need to use a bunch of conditionals to see if a criteria is met, create an algorithm for a timeout, and then store and retrieve data to make sure they don't duplicate offerings/addons as well as making sure it works flawlessly without any issues.

in the over all scope of a project for a game development and support, it is trivial at best.

and making sure it works flawlessly? you must be new to programming or young or both. Software never has a final criteria of working "flawlessly" Developers would go broke. With DBD, that bar might be even lower than the average. They have went public with some doozy of some bugs.
