I mean i run some kind of regression perk in pretty much every build. Even my deathslinger meme hex build has hex ruin in it lol.
yes i do have regression perks on my builds too, mostly SH:PR but you know sometimes u wanna try something new and u end up getting gen rushed to hell, its so dumb that every killer is forced to play with a gen regression perk
-
@HoodedWildKard said:
Run overcharge or dragon's grip then, punish them for gen tapping
did it before but, im not about to run the same thing 600 times you know...that would just make the game even more boring than it is
-
@Devil_hit11 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/349783/so-why-is-gen-tapping-still-a-thing
why not make it so when the survivors touch the gen for 2 seconds they get a skill check THEN it stops the regression
your describing a perk called overcharge. You can run it on every killer build to make it base-kit. gen tapping is not a problem.
ah yes run the same perk every damn time, not changing a single thing because BHVR doesn't wanna fix a simple problem
modern problems require modern solutions

@CoDismylife said:
Because killers can kick gens
did you even read any.....forget it
-
nah you get more bloodpoints because everyone can't get them
-
@C3Tooth said:
50sec Gen wasnt needed. They could simply add 2sec startup animation for every action: Gen, Heal, Chest, Gate, Totem
It would fix both Gen rush, increase 99 Gate risk, promote spread pressure, remove Gen tapping.
that's even a better solution
-
@Mister_xD said:
With the 6.1.0 update Killers now deal an instant base regression of 2.5% worth of the generators max progress on top of starting the normal regression.
Doesn't sound like much, but if they keep tapping it you can consistently reapply those 2.5%, which will quickly add up enough so you don't have to worry about them doing it in your face anymore.
that's the thing IF U CAN, if u can kick the gen over and over u will win but most of the time u kick the gen they already crossed half of the map

Lowering mmr is something I was thinking about of recently. Because it's just really unfun to play. I mean, I'm still winning the matches, but it's just a "bitter after taste" left from these matches.
I was looking for more interesting and close games when I was playing against strong survivors, I did not expect to see what I've seen from it.
"also watch someone tell you how do you know your mmr is high or mmr doesn't exist" :
I mean... Every single killer main who was playing long enough can tell even without knowing numbers. Each killer on 1 account has own mmr.
Literally 1 chase is enough to tell, if this survivor is really good or bad or a cheater. Am I wrong?=) And if you having 3-4 really good survivors almost every match, that means you're probably playing at or above 1600 (or whatever).
yea i agree every killer has their own MMR, that's why i can't play my sadako.......;-;
and sometimes even chases don't give much info, mostly likely against SWF since one of them is most likely boosted
don't get me started on cheaters....things are worst than sabo jakes.... and yea if u get good players every match its obvious its high mmr but tbh win or not u don't get the winning feeling, you just get out of the game stressed tired and just wanna quit, and you know don't forget those survivors despite you playing nicely, throwing every single vile word at you
BUT WE ALL PLAYING FOR FUN AREN'T WE said every hypocrite in this forums

I have always wondered how people know their MMR is high though, I'm not disputing that OP is high MMR because those are behaviours that I rarely see and I'm an average solo Q player so I don't expect to be in the higher echelons of the game.
Hell, as killer I'd be right at the bottom of the pile and I'm still battered whenever I play lol.
But, how many people claim to be or believe that they are in a high MMR when in reality they are bang in the middle and just not as good as they think they are, or is there a way to tell?
people know they are in high mmr because u tend to see SWF a lot, players that know what they are doing, and busted toolboxes and let's not forget everyone's party trick, prove thyself, while on killers u might see rare killers like twins or sadako or killers that aren't as common and u will see a lot of tunneling with 4 gen regression its just so damn lame up here i rather play against anyone but high mmr players
-
@Bot_Salvo88 said:
Kicking gens has always been meaningless. I have this idea for a while now. They added that you remove 2% of gen progress I believe when you kick a gen. Why can't we have it where that regression grows if survivor taps a gen within a short amount of time. You kick a gen (2%), survivor taps it, you kick it again (4%), survivor taps it again, you kick again (8%) and so on. That's my opinion at least.
that's a really good idea, maybe that could apply if the survivor touches the gen while in chase, then those values could apply
-
@The_Scarlet_Witch said:
What killers do u use then
im a low tier player
pig, sadako, ghostie you know the killers that u barely see beside ghostface u tend to see a lot of those
and if u are gonna tell me just play high tier killers, then im gonna say what's the point of all of these killers existing if im gonna be stuck with 2
-
Welcome to High MMR where somehow people instead of being respectful and with brain they are the opposite
i really recommend just lowering your mmr its just pretty bad it does feel good when u punish the HELL out of them but most of the time its not worth it
and quick tip if someone keeps teabagging, forget the respect, MAKES THEM SUFFER, and if the whole team does it more than once....well you know what to do you (and general rule of life if u see a lobby with no items just put franklin's or lightborn on )
also watch someone tell you how do you know your mmr is high or mmr doesn't exist
-
a huntress that is extremely annoyed
2 other kills that just had about enough and just want to lower their MMR
-
yea i did feel some fps drop too
weird enough the PTB has better fps than live tho the animations are like 2 frames lol
-
but you're wrong op, according to every survivor main, gen rushing doesn't exist, you know maybe toolboxes are just a fiction of our imagination maybe prove thyself doesn't exist either
Brand new part, what's that?
look this community is delusional, they think MMR doesn't exist, gen rushing doesn't exist, camping and tunneling is not a problem
just because they don't face those things they think they don't exist, when in reality they are most likely running the sweatiest build u will ever see
-
@egg_ said:
There is no correlation
Killers call genrushing what most times is the result of their own misplays (commonly referred to as "the game is survivor sided 😢"). And killers camp and tunnel even if the game is going clearly in their favor already
that is the lamest answer i've ever heard
you know u chasing someone for 20 seconds, 2 gens pop IT WAS A MISPLAY
they have a broken toolbox and prove thyself, KILLER SUCK GET BETTER
the gens are par on par with each other, that's 100% the killer's fault
people like you are why this game will never be balanced

fun to play with, extremely annoying to play against

i die inside any time i hear them as any killer tbh

your point was stupid. you dont buff tunneling? that was the thing i was talking about?
this is how this chain of comments went:
"dont buff tunneling"
"people will tunnel anyway"
"what is the point of that statement here"
"toxic forum people xoxoxo"
God what the hell?
first of all NOTHING about my post says buff or nerf, just a random thought
2 u said don't buff tunneling, again off the record, and i said players will tunnel either way, trying to start a conversation and expecting a, yea BHVR should do something about it, but clearly its too difficult to handle conversations for u
people aren't toxic they are a broken record of the same answer

what's the point of a the reply?

okay now think of this.
myers pop his Tier 3 on a survivor with OTR or BT. Plop. Tunneled.
99'd survivor with OTR in a deadzone vs a ghostface? Plop. Marked,tunneled.
Any Kind of Exposed status effect now will be THE thing to use for tunneling.
players get tunneled with or without exposed lol

Be okay with losing by not getting the 3-4k. Change your personal wincon. I had the same problem. I got to an MMR that was pretty brutal for me so I started making smaller goals for myself and smurfing to get my MMR back down a bit. Once I got to a comfortable place, I kept my 8 hooks before a kill mentality and slowly improved my game.
I try to manage my MMR carefully now, but also knowing when is the best times to play helps as well. If I get a team that just flat out outplays me, I'll just go back to small goals like "I'm going to down this clicky-boi Steve if it takes me 5 gens to do it". After I get the down I let them go with out hooking to get the point across that I was having fun with the chase.
I don't care if I "win" by the community standards anymore. I just play for whatever entertains me at the time. Sometimes that's chasing survivors without ever actually swinging at them to see how long it takes for them to realize I'm not going to down them. Sometimes it's playing a reverse hide and seek, or just playing for jump scares. My goal is to have fun, and try to make sure everyone else does too if possible. Everybody wants something different from the game so you can't please everybody. Just gotta find what works for you.
i guess we could try that, thanks

I mean I play most killers but Plague, Spirit, Doc, Slinger, Sadako, Huntress, Clown, Nemesis, Wesky are the ones I play pretty much all the time. The ones I don't like playing at all or have no desire to play are Nurse, Blight (have actually never loaded a Blight game), Artist, Pyramid Head, Hag, Twins, and Wraith. Everything else I play occasionally when I have a challenge, find some dumb meme I want to do, or just want to shake things up a bit.
tbh i can play any killer, but its just the fact that i need to get sweaty every game, its impossible for me to have fun, i try butt these survivors are just i dunno scared?

It's kinda like playing League Of Legends. You know the game is essentially fun, so you play and play and play until you stop getting matched with a 5000 hour player in a smurf or the game stops having massive matchmaking brainfarts, trying to find that one golden match that is a fun back-and-forth to the point that the result doesn't really matter because the match was gratifying and no one in the match was a massive asshat using frustration as a weapon to win.
And then when you're just about to quit, you finally find that match and think "... You know what? I think I could go for another one like that one.". And so the cycle continues.
tbh league has at least some rotating games, and i was with the game since S3 i have like 20k hours or more yes with time u get over everyone and u play, lose or win but least there are different gamemodes dbd HAS ONE and somehow they made it as Miserable as it can be

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/349175/so-whats-the-point-of-playing-this-game
Because the game is fun, don't play a game you don't enjoy. Challenges, ranks, bloodpoints etc, they're all just things to grind for and to make the game feel "rewarding" a progression system in video games are important to people, to show off and to feel like the time they put into the game is shown. At least I think so! It feels good to work towards something.
People complain because they love the game. They want to see it succeed. They want to enjoy the game more. We complain because those aspects of the game will ruin the fun of things. If you haven't enjoyed the game since 2019 man, why play it? Video games are for entertainment and socializing. Though I would say, instead of "complaining" constructive criticism and showing our feelings in a less immature way is important.
Fun...what's ur aspect of fun exactly?

Man I think you've taken games like DBD for granted, and don't even realize it yourself. Video games aren't for 1000 hours of gaming, if you're able to get that much time into a game, that's pretty amazing. Any game is the same thing over and over. Fun is subjective anyways. If you don't enjoy your side or any side. The game isn't for you man, or you experienced everything and the game ran it's course for you. You did everything and now need something new. It's not that difficult. You don't find it fun simple as that bro. It's been 3 years and you still play and not have fun? Whatever I've written or said or what anyone has said. It's a you problem. Stop playing.
I CAN"T well tbh i barely play it these days, but still having 3 years of this ######### would u usually show that the player is a veteran someone who enjoys playing it, i have 1600 hours on Destiny 2, do i play it because i hate it?
no i play it because i love it, and it should be the same for this game not making the player hate the game and themselves

1) Your comment made 0 sense... you can't say "I don't wanna hear it" because... guess what, you will hear it. What kind of a response do you want to such a pointless question?
2) I'll give you some English lessons, it's not u, it's *you, don't capitalize the S in save because it's not the beginning of a sentence, capitalize the I because that's proper grammar, *"its it" makes no sense, and "its" isn't grammatically correct, it's...*it's
3) Don't ask a question if you're not gonna be happy with every response you don't agree with. Someone earlier responded with a simple response "They have fun" and your aggressive response was this:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3213871#Comment_3213871
What an aggressive response to someone giving a simple reason why they still play. Obviously you loathe this game and want to bring down everyone else who still enjoys it. I think you need to get off the internet for a while. Try to have a good day~ 🙃
sure buddy u have a nice day too and oh yes I HATE THIS GAME I NEVER LIKED IT, that's why im complaining right now OH MY GOSH

@Maelstrom808 said:

For me, I don't really deal with any of that. My killers are at a sweet spot right now where I can play fairly relaxed and have a decent challenge without having to sweat like crazy. I play considerately so even on 4ks, I don't get any negative chat. On the survivor side, most matches seem to be against similar minded killers, so while occasionally I get tunneled/ camped, overall it's a good experience. On the crappy matches, I just turn around and goof off to entertain myself.
In the end, I'm glad there is no ranks other than getting my grades to iri once a month if I want to max the BP bonus. I don't have anything staring me in the face to motivate me to play harder. I generally don't care too much if I win or lose, as long as the match was fun. If more people would simply let go of the idea that they must crush their opposition every match, and learn to have fun just playing, this game would be a lot better for all.
sounds like your mmr is just in the sweet spot, and which killers to you play?

Speaking purely for myself, fun is "am I enjoying my time as I play this game?" Is the answer is "yes", I'm having fun. If the answer is "no", then I'm not and it's time to find something that is fun.
I've had plenty of fun in DBD games. Even when I lose I can laugh it off or think about why I lost. Or maybe I lost in a funny way. The stuff your described isn't enjoyable and, when it galena a lot in one session, I turn off the game for a while.
I manage to avoid the worst of burnout by playing when I'm in the mood. Sometimes that's just a couple games, sometimes it's several. Last rift I got it up to 70 because there were rewards in it I wanted. This last rift? I've barely touched it and didn't stress it.
I have fun wit this game largely by playing it when I feel like, and not playing it when I don't.
To go back to your original question: the point of playing the game, or any game is to have fun however you might define it.
If it haven't had proper fun in 3-odd years? Then you have to ask yourself "why are you playing?" What are you getting from Dead by Daylight, for all its aggravations, that you can't get by playing, say, Among Us?
i did actually take several breaks, and i did get into it at one point but now its just
lame
why am i still playing it?
idk because the killers are something i like, sadako, piggy, ghost those are the reason i joined dbd in the first place

exactly, now you just play, suffer and wonder why u are even playing

i wish i still fresh at this game, maybe i could have some sort of fun, because right now i've seen so much over the years the game has changed to nothing be worst and worst, sure some changes were needed like the removal if Bouquets which made the game so dark that u couldn't see anything but holy hell these past 3 years there hasn't been anything to shake it up, beside the latest killer patch which just made the game more stale

getting tunneled out of the game at 4 gens
getting so much hate and vile words because u won?
you know, loading into a game getting either a SWF and getting stressed or just cheaters is very fun according to NOBODY
this game ISN"T FUN, it was fun before this game is a ranked mess with people that are as 1 dimensional as a brick wall, with some few individuals sometimes making it a bit fun for either side
and you know everyone here complaining shows a lot of people have fun aren't they?

I play - surprise for myself tbh - more survivor than killer these days and I have a lot of fun in the game.
Im not forced into BT, DH, DS and a 4th perk, no, I am switching around, because the perks have come closer to each other, which I think is great. Lithe, CoH, Distortion, Overcome, Vigil, Well make it, Prove, Hyperfocus, Inner Healing, Build to last etc. - I switch a lot between games.
There is only 1 perk I never exchange: Windows of Opportunity
Its so good when u play with at least 2 randoms to know which pallets they already used to survive longer in chases.
On the other side, Im a bit mad about the DMS-Nerf just because of a PR+MS Combo.... but overall I still love playing killer. However, Killer is more chill than before the perk-overhaul, you can feel that u dont get bullied every 2 games because the old Deadhard is gone. This one change has done so much for killer-gameplay, even if its kinda annoying sometimes nowadays, its unreal.
Anyways: I think we need more changes. That should be just the beginning.
we need a lot of changes to shake up the game a bit and not just balance changes
