It's not a "junk bug," no need to be rude.

They're not neutral perks. If that were the case, they wouldn't have unlocked for all my characters like the rest of the perks did. However, they only unlocked at tier 1. That's the bug (for me, at least).

They are neutral perks now. EVERYBODY HAS THEM, even those that did not buy Stranger Things. The only difference is that as you did buy Stranger Things, you get to keep the ST artwork and it says Steve, Nancy, and Demogorgon on them. Also you can actually play as Steve, Nancy, and Demogorgon. However, again... eveyrone has their perks now, as they are considered neutral perks.

  • For the People is not actually healing them, its like a toggle, therefore it doesn't count. It's similar to how no perks (Killer or Survivor) that rely on unhooking a survivor will function with Pyramid head's cages.

  • @EvilSerje said:

4K would be no achievement, just random match. Yes, maybe survivor's adepts have to be more challenging (definetely not +2 pips, as it almost impossible even with full loadout), but I don't think killer's shoud be any easier.

I loved doing every single killer adepts, it was fun, it has a purpose and it taught me A LOT about proper killer gameplay.

Killer adepts require skill and gameplay, survivor's is pure luck (if you are not 5K hours pro streamer, of course). Some of my survivor's adepts took twice more attempts than most troublesome killer ones.

Anyway, if you struggle, there's always a cheap method: wait until 13th of the month.

    P.S.

Opposite example: getting Rank 1 killer is pretty much equals "play the game as you want", but for survivor it's sweaty fearsome tryhard enduring battle, wearing you physically and morally.

No, certain killers actually have to play counter to their kit to get the adept. Like Bubba, Ghostface, and Myers. Stealth killers especially, if the survivor don't see you and you down them, you never entered a chase so you don't get the points for that.

Like I said, watch Tofu's video I posted above, he shows just how damn hard it is to get Leatherface's Adept even as a freakin' Fog Whisperer that had every killer at 4K and around 500+ of every addon since he's been playing since launch. He's literally letting survivors wiggle out, sluging them so they can get back up so he can chase them again, NOT using the chainsaw, etc... and he still doesn't get the Adept.

but that also might mean they are terrible at the game.

just because people play a lot doesn't mean they are good

personally i dont have a problem with it showing and i like it tbh, makes the lobby look nicer

I mean, I have a curse that I get found first and tunneled out most matches, so yea my MMR is really low. Yet I will have pretty high prestige pretty quickly on my main survivor, so yeah.

  • This also ties into a problem I've been going on about for over a year now, how Adepts are figured. A survivor just has to escape. Thats it. They can do absolutely nothing, just AFK by the exit gate and then head out when its opened. They just got their Adept.

But a killer needs to get a +2 Pip Result under the Emblems system, which means not playing too efficiently and killing the survivors too quickly. I made a more in depth post about it separate, but I really think these two issues are very similar in how efficient play is punished rather than rewarded.

  • Of course I can't give a name due to forum policy, but I even know a hacker in one of my Discord communities, he's blatant and admits to being a hacker. I'm trying to get him banned, but so far neither of the two streamer communities I share with him have. I hope it's just them doing their due dilligence to find out the truth before they ban him, but one of them as i said he outright admitted it and included freakin' screenshots and he's still not banned. Heck, he even DID get banned by BHVR last week, and he's got a new account and is still hacking again. Because of the nature of the cheats, it doesn't really matter how many times he gets banned, just needs a new account and he's back to where he was right away. In fact, honestly I don't get why BHVR doesn't take this more seriously in the case of the outfits he has access to, as he can literally just hack himself even outfits that can only be purchased with Auric Cells. These hackers are able to do that, and that is literally taking money from BHVR. Hell, this guy even recently posted a photo of the Developer only charm, seems he has that too.

  • I am a @@@@ MAIN. I can't tell you who I play because most killer names are censored.

Yes, please! I want a Scoops Ahoy Robin Legendary for Nancy at the very least, if not Robin being a full survivor on her own (with her Scoops Ahoy uniform to match Steve's!)

Clown was the Killer who won in the first contest, so Frank isn't the only winner.

Additionally, Frank was the only Never Stop Slashing concept that the artist, Amacky, had made at the time. Julie, Joey & Susie were made a while later.

Yea, I remembered Clown after I had already closed the window, and nice... I knew Amacky had made them all, just not that only Frank was at the time. Personally, I would love if they would make the rest, maybe a special DLC for charity or something where you get all 4? I know being a community created one they don't want to sell them for their own profit, but doing it for charity would be a cool thing to do. Let Amacky pick the charity.

  • @FeelsBadMan said:

While I actually really like these years winners, I am also kinda disappointed that we get ANOTHER female survivor outfit. Why can't they just take one female and one male outfit and have two survivor winners? At this rate there will never be a male one that will win this contest...

Yea, I think the only male winner was Never Stop Slashing (Frank) for Legion... which IMO is even sad because the creator made versions for all 4 members of Legion, but they just did the one for Frank. Like, Legion is such a unique killer and while I think it's great they picked that skin, it's a great one for sure, really wish they had done all four.

I think Legion's fifth hit doesn't ignore deep wound, it just becomes an instant down. If you use the fifth hit on someone currently affected by BT or a styptic, I think they get out safely.

It also appears from the PTB you can use Dead Hard while already in deep wound and you'll stay in deep wound so Legion doesn't counter it nearly as much as I thought they would. I suck at survivor though so I wasn't able to confirm that because I suck at timing the Dead Hard in general.

It'll definitely be better for Legion for hits 1-4 as someone won't be able to Dead Hard to interrupt your chain hits from frenzy anymore.

Hmm, good point. That's actually maybe something I should see if a streamer or someone can test that...

  • Yea, I noticed that, but I think that the problem is that Dredge is somewhat unique. Every other killer has a Body, Head, and Weapon. Dredge however has a Body, RIght Arm, and Weapon. So they have the descriptions for what would be the Head on other killers is the Right Arm, instead of the Body (which usually does have a proper description from what I've seen.) So, it seems they need to rewrite the Arm descriptions entirely since they seem to have been created before they gave Dredge the weird setup no other killer has.

  • @mischiefmanaged said:

I'm pretty convinced it will be stronger except against Trapper, Legion, and Deathslinger.

You'll still be able to use it to tank a hit and killers will still have to bait it out. If a killer whiffs, the penalty is worse. They get an extra speed boost, lose collision, and the killer does the longer weapon wipe instead of the missed attack.

At the current moment, if you miss, you can usually body block and get a second chance to hit when it's used badly. That'll be gone.

For Legion, he can put people in deep wound easily and prevent the attack from being used. His frenzy won't be interpret by hitting in dead hard.

No dead harding through a trap.

Deathslinger just hits straight through it.

Every other killer comes out worse. M1 killers still have to bait it so it can be used to get extra distance to a pallet. Killers that hit with powers can't aim to hit at the end of the dash. Think Plague and Pyramid Head.

It's definitely a buff to an already strong perk.

Oh yea, as a Legion main, I am loving the new Dead Hard.

Current Dead Hard. You're in a Frenzy, closing, closing, SWING and MISS because he just used Dead Hard... he got distance and you missed and are now stunned out of your Frenzy.

BUT new Dead Hard? Closing, closing, swing and hit... oh he's used Dead Hard, he had the Endurance effect so you applied a deep wound... that suc... wait... You're a Legion... your hits in a Frenzy already apply a Deep Wound, so you're fine... continue on to the next survivor as normal. The fact that he has Dead Hard means NOTHING to Legion now because Legion can ignore the new Dead Hard the same as they do Borrowed Time. Even if you Dead Hard the 5th hit, you're still going down. Legion in a Frenzy ignores Endurance effects completely.

  • @ResidentEvilSafeRoom said:

Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. I've played 3 matches in a row where there was 5 frightful flans and they SWEAT so hard, they try SO hard to gen rush and escape without letting me get a single hook. I barely get any bloodpoints and they get away with it all.

These events are awful because the players make it awful. Can the killers just get full rewards for being too chill??? It's just a waste of flan at this point.

Happens the other way around too. Killer just tunnels me out on first hook, its why I decided that I am now a Haddie main. If killers are going to tunnel me, I'm going to give them a reason to. I bring a flashlight every game and I use it at every pallet. I do everything that makes me angry and want to tunnel someone when I am playing killer. Funny enough, I've actually been getting MORE escapes than I usually did before and I've gotten Adept Haddie 28 times since the event started (Yes, I am just running Haddie with her three perks cause why not?)

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3025867#Comment_3025867

It's also the fact that some of the other event archives are pure dumb luck, and are literally impossible to progress unless the killer plays along. 10 games of trying and I gave up on the 'get hit while vaulting 4 times in the same game' challenge.

Yea, only reason I got that was when I found a farming killer who I was baiting at a window, and I think he realized what I wanted. Because honestly, that challenge is "play badly" because a good player will either make the vault without getting hit, or not take the vault. Now sure, everyone screws up occasionally, but to screw up like that 4 times in one game? If you are going to screw up 4 times in a single game like that, odds are you aren't making it to a vault in the first place.

First one is done since yesterday, Chaser/Evader is 2nd Quest, and it's just Gold not Iridescent,

and even if it wouldn't be that huge a deal, just activate the Quest and play some rounds, Gold Emblems are easy to come by.

It's not like we need all 4 Iridescant like it's a Killer Adept on Grade Iris 1 :P

I guess, I just also am kind of worried that we won't get all the rest of them done by the end, plus I hate how Haddie's pieces have been the last earned on BOTH pages... IMO it should have been reversed on the second page. Which is also tied to my worry that we might not finish them all in time.

Honestly, I hate the entire emblem system has been made worthless with the new MMR rules, like why do we even still have it when literally the only thing it matters to is the grade and killer adepts?

So the challenges on page 2 are all tied to an outdated mechanic that so many players don't even care about.

No one is forcing you to change your build. You can choose whatever perks you want. Spine Chill made stealth killers ineffective so I am glad they made the change.

They could have made "Undetectable" disable Spine Chill, and that would have been enough. But this change made the perk complete trash in all situations.

  • As a killer, I definitely see your point, but I disagree in that it encourages the survivor to jump into a locker to get that heal. I know what you are thinking, but hear me out. When a survivor that just got off the hook immediately enters a locker in your face, they obviously have Decisive Strike. They are trying to force it's use, so I always take the bait. This removes the perk for the rest of the match. That's a win for the killer more than the survivor.

As a survivor, I say... does anyone actually run Inner Healing with Decisive Strike? There are way better combinations to do than that, and hey if you are jumping into a locker trying to heal, either you succeed or the killer pulls you out ruining both perks (well, you get your DS used, but then it's done the rest of the match. As I said above, that's a win for the killer more than the survivor.) Especially since Inner Healing requires you to have cleaned a totem PRIOR to getting into the locker, which means you did it before you were hooked.

  • Okay, time to take a look at page 2? Seriously, It's Saturday and we aren't even done with the 1st one yet. Plus, Evader or Chaser emblems? Really? Who in this game actually cares about emblems when all that matters is your kills vs. escapes? Sure, we might say that we care about bloodpoints, but... that's not how games actually go...

  • As a Legion main and now Haddie main too, I say if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I am just running "Adept Haddie" and I am loving it. You can look at my DBD Stats page and you'll see it right there... Haddie Kaur x14. That's 13 escapes running only Haddie's 3 perks today alone (got the actual Adept Haddie achivement the first day.)

  • The problem I had with Dead Hard as a Legion main was simple... I catch up to the player, I swing he Dead Hards, and I miss, ending my frenzy. Now, sure he can Dead Hard, but I still hit him and so it still counts. Its the same as with when a survivor has Borrowed Time, I will absolutely hit the survivor that just got off the hook, but I won't down them even if they didn't have BT... because I am a Legion.

  • Hmm, yea I'll definitely bookmark this thread and keep an eye on it, I mean I realize community challenges should be challenges, but they need to be obtainable at least... and I agree, it's looking like there is no way we are getting all of these done during the event as it stands, especially not if there are more on page 2.

  • Someone suggested maybe it's an anti-aliasing or raytracing issue?

  • I am not sure it is a bug, I think they may have done it to stop the annoying flashlight macros.

  • Ghost Face has this bug too, he can mark you through walls but you can't see him, so you can't reveal him.

It's not Gambler's Fallacy at all. I'm not saying that because you had failed to unhook yourself twice that the next attempt is more likely to unhook yourself. I'm saying that if you make more attempts, the odds that AT LEAST ONE of those attempts works is higher.

The more you attempt something, the odds you succeed once is more likely. Flipping a coin once and getting heads is 50%. But if you flip the same coin twice, your odds that at least one of those flips are heads is now 75%. This is because the outcomes of two head tosses are:

    HH

    HT

    TH

    TT

And in 3/4 of those attempts you got at least one head.

An individual attempt to get yourself off the hook is 4%. However, you have up to 3 attempts to do so. If you try to last ditch effort yourself off the hook while you still have 3 attempts, you only need to succeed on at least one of those three attempts.

The chance that you fail all 3 attempts is 0.96 * 0.96 * 0.96 which is 88.5%. Therefore to not fail all 3 attempts the odds are 11.5%.

If you only attempt twice the odds are 0.96 * 0.96 which is 92.16% that you fail both attempts and 7.84% that you don't fail both attempts.

Yea, but it's still only a 4% chance each time, and that's the point. It's only worth it if you are positive your friends aren't going to come to get you.

  • The reason it works the way it does is because it DESTROYS THE MED-KIT. Normally, if you bring in a purple med-kit then you escape, you get to keep it, just not your addons. If you bring a White Ward, you get to keep it and both addons even if you die... BUT you use the Syringe, and the med-kit is DESTROYED. It's just gone completely, even if you brought a White Ward.

  • @HectorBrando said:

Dead Hard doesnt reward failure, it has an activation condition which is crystal clear, being injured, once you get injured you can use it, simple as. Failing as Survivor isnt getting hit, the game is designed for Survivors to get hit eventually, failure as Survivor is dying, right now there isnt a single perk that rewards Survivors for dying (at least the dying person).

Now I have a question for all Killer mains, once DH gerts nerfed in the upcoming mass balance how do you decide whats the next outcry inducing perk/mechanic? The strongest Killer decides for all? Are you going to host a poll where everyone can vote? There is some short of Killer Junta formed by the streamers who decides for the rest? or some sort of "Killer bureau " decides and then assigns quotas regarding posts on the forum to every Killer main? every Killer region decides on their next contentious mechanic, goes to an assembly, exposes its plight and then representatives elected from every Killer region worldwide vote according to the directives issued by their region?

If you even need to ask, you will never understand the answer.

  • You failed to mention a Scoops Ahoy Robin Legendary.

  • They have said that all Mori offerings are being removed.

  • You can't even copy/paste it on a PC, you have to type it in. It's really a pain to have to do every time. It's IMO just not worth it for the rewards.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2980388#Comment_2980388

    It is how it works.

The chance that you succeed on at least one unhook attempt is 1-((1-success chance)^number of attempts).

    1-(1-0.04)^3

    1-(0.96)^3

    1-0.885

    0.115 or 11.5%

The chance isn't going up each attempt but when you make multiple attempts and only one success matters then your overall chance it works is higher.

Also for your heads example the chance you flip a coin twice and it lands on heads twice is 25%.

    0.5 * 0.5 - 0.25

This is a case of The Gambler's Fallacy.

    Untitled.jpg

  • Nah, now it works since if you are hemorraging you can still use it and heal while you run.

  • Yea, I'm not even bothering. Having to go to the website and enter my clould ID after every match? Just not worth the headache. Maybe if the rewards were higher, but nah.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2979087#Comment_2979087

It's like an 11% chance to unhook yourself with 3 attempts @ 4% each attempt.

4 survivors each game each with an 11% chance to unhook themselves and seeing it once every 3 games is about average.

I don't think the mechanic itself should be removed, but it and luck could likely use adjustments to be more modernized.

No, that's not how it works. You have a 4% chance each attempt. Your chances of succeeding do not increase just because you didn't succeed previously. It's like flip a coin. What are the odds it will come up heads? 50%. Now flip it again. What are the odds it will come up heads? 50%. Sure, it's not likely to come up heads 100 times in a row, but it could since every attempt is a 50% chance and previous flips do not factor into that.

I rarely see anyone try, and 9/10 times they end up just accelerating their hook state. If you get 3 successful attempts per game as average, then your games are not the average, they are an outlier.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/325820/implementation-of-a-system-to-prevent-survivors-from-having-the-same-killer-twice-in-a-row

That happens because the algorithm decides the killer based on the majority of perks being used among the survivors. So whatever build you are using, it will always get a killer with a countermeasure to your loadout. I hate this algorithm because like you said it becomes repetitive and boring, and somewhat unfair, because of the devs' bogus attempt at making the game balanced.

There are so many perks now, with many having an Achilles heel that they make sure you are pitted against it more often than not. It's to make sure that you the survivor or killer never have too great of an advantage over the other players s we all supposedly have a good time. Right!

What? Where do you get that the algorithm works that way? Source?

  • Wow, had no idea that skin even had that glow, never actually seen anyone use it in game.

  • As a Legion (Susie) main, I say absolutely not.

It's literally a 4% chance, 8% if they have slippery meat. It's a VERY BAD idea to try it unless you have no other choice. Also, honestly my policy as killer is that if they Kobe themselves off the hook and they aren't broken, that means it was a legit Kobe and not Deliverance, so my policy is that they get the hatch, even if I 3K the others.

Always respect the 4%, at least that's my policy.

  • @MrMori said:

If the survivors argument against this is "They're doing literally nothing to progress the game for a full minute", why is slugging them and coming back later any worse? Like a player affected by DS can't positively impact the game at all. They absolutely can. They can get healed, bodyblock, or get healthy and far from the killer if they're on death hook, take a chase with the killer and purposely get downed even after the killer hooks someone else.

That's what DS is for, not jumping into a damn locker because you're invulnerable in it for a minute.

I'd be fine with a 5 second free BT if DS deactivated upon lockers and when touching gates. Why doesn't touching a gate disable it anyway? That's a pretty clear example of progressing the game.

Good point. If the last survivor gets off the hook themselves, they pretty much are guaranteed to get out. Opening the exit gate definitely SHOULD count to cancel DS, just like a generator does... but it doesn't. I remember one game where I specifically did not camp, the survivor got rescued and then the rescuer immediately hit the gate and left... so I downed the last survivor, and... DS... she got out. It was so annoying, but hey... at least that scenario will be no longer with the new "Finisher Mori" eh?

Actually Feng Min is like 16 to 17, and I'm sure some of the other survivors are around that age too. Being young has nothing to do with knowing how to fend off the entity, which max clearly did because she was in the deepest dark part of Vecna's mind and was able to escape it. If you watch the show, clearly you would know that but I guess not, no offense. I agree with Ellegreen though. Age don't matter in that realm.

They have said that everyone in the entity's realm is an adult. Mostly that's to alleviate laws in certain countries, but it's still an official statement from BHVR.

Also we need ROBIN. Be it as a new survivor, or just as a Legendary for Nancy, but we need Robin in her Scoops Ahoy Uniform.

Clown also need his own Realm. You know BHVR a carnival/ traveling circus/ Theme park is something people have been wanting for a long time.

Crotus Penn Asylum's Chapel map is Clown's. His circus is on the edge of the map, along with his horse, Maurice.

  • Yea, this survey is such a pain to do, and even worse when it seems I am not the only one that isn't sure which total we need to enter... earned in the match, or received after all post-game adjustments?

  • They've said it won't be cosmetics or currency. So I don't have any idea what could be left.

  • This is not a truly competitive game. It's the players who make it so. Splitting the lobby would not be offset by retention or growth because most players still want to 'win' and not 'lose' so unless you are running customs, you are not going to be going against players that have any obligation to give you a a 'casual' match.

It sucks, but its' the nature of EVERY PvP game that they are this way.

  • As much as I hate teabagging at the exit gate, even i am agianst something like this... There are many reasons one might NEED to stay. Challenges exist that you have to be the last one to leave, so what if you are on that challenge and not in a 4 man SWF dedicated to helping you get the... OH well, you just died before they got out because you were in the exit gate waiting for them for 5 seconds... Like, that's another thing.... 5 seconds says the OP? Some exit gates you'd need to be running AND hit Dead Hard to leave the match in 5 seconds... forget making it out at all if one is crawling.
