my reasoning for putting the boon on a cooldown is this perspective
You spawn in you have to look for a totem, you find one, you spend 14 seconds blessing it, now you go to a Gen, the killer kicks the boon and now you got to go ALL the way back to rebless
You wasted all that time that could have been done on gens. So by it respawning every 60 seconds you don’t have to waste time anymore to go back and bless it.
There by it encourages survivors to run more boons since it all applies to one totem and it makes them run less of the other perks since only 4 can be used
I get what you mean but its kinda bad because boons arent that bad perks (excep that one that shows just generators aura and chests) like CoH is still b-tier perk at worst and shodow step is great on indoor maps, exponencial is very strong if survivors play altuistic and can counter sluging betetr than unbreable if they are sluged near the boon or in its range.
That time waste is there but you get good effect mostly and its like Iwould argue if killer has CoB and survivors repair the gen to stop regressing I can argue it should start regressing after 90 seconds because I spend like 14+ seconds travelinmg to that gen to apply that perk and its undone in 5 seconds or with simular arguments like with pentimento etc..
Boon is investing perk and killer is forced to find that totem and snuf it which is time waste by itself so it doesnt waste time only for the survivor but for the killer to especialy if its two floor map and totem is on another floor if killer doesnt have some ability to travel acrosse multiple floors like sadako, dreadge, nurse, dracula than he is just done with that totem because it will be 10 to 20 time waste maybe even more so I dont see reason to make it automatic, only if survivor lost option to boon different totems or totem could be booned to some max limit like 3 times and then it would be bloked for boon perk.

The best way is to trade health states. You should get one or two stuns normally and then finish it with trades. Wait at the pallet, let them hit you, then stun them.
Thats good way if killer isnt friendly and doesnt give it to him but nowdays there are many killers with some range attack so camping a pallet isnt ideal and wont work all the times not to mention sometimes can killer hit you and end up on other side without the stun like legion using frenzy but thats mostly server issue or ping issue i believe.

Tbh i've accepted that the developers have abandoned this killer. She always felt unfinished and she still does. 1yr later, minimal changes AND cosmetics. I wouldn't hold out hope for them improving her, i think they lack incentive + motivation. They did improve Knight a lot and i was hoping they would do the same thing with houndmaster but it doesn't seem to be happening. They couldn't even be bothered to change the rope add-on after saying they would revisit it this year.
For your own sanity, i suggest playing a more popular killer. She isnt bad, if she worked than she would be better in power than wesker (unless that wesker player is using all his techs on first try like hug tech or instahug tech or bluetooth or whats it called etc. than wesker can be way unpredicteable and can work better), she gets acces to better mobility, stealth (dog when send on search mode has lulaby but when you are in his lullaby range you cant see killers radius indicator or hear it so she has basicaly some stealth, I got catched by it of guard two times on indoor map so thats how i know about it), she has solid aniloop and I would say with same dificulty as wesker but with all he qualities she beats him in potencial only problem are tens of bugs that make her unplayable compare to wesker.
Its his choice and he has point in one thing that she should be already fixed because if he would complain here she is weak than I would give him same advice to switch to better killer but that isnt houndmasters case, she is buged most of all things in the game and for year or more and ignored (Im starting to believe its intentional) which is something no one can deny and it should be changed.
-
I would played her if only her power would work, you want to mark a gen for the dog to run there guess what….. it takes you 10 seconds minimaly shifting your mause up and down so the mark apears above that gen and you can send the dog, you mark place for dog to use it as mobility and what happens dog gets stuck nice. You send dog as aatack and he gets stuck on random things (feels like bumping into twigs or invisiable things with bubba like it was issue before on garden of joy or erie of crows with those bushes and wall covered in vines). Sometimes the dog gets stuck somewhere so your ability is unusable untill you unbug it like with pick up animation or break animation if you are lucky which is ridicilous and it feels terrible to play with buggy power that just stops working mid match, thats the reason no one actualy plays her and why she is so slept on.
In core she is great killer with good desing but her current situation in the game (thats same since her release) is terrible because of bugs that made her powerless sometimes so there is no need to play her.
-
Tbh I have more hope for mayers and pinhead returning as license into the game than the devs fighting the cheaters and reducing their numbers greatly while preventing them to take the game over again.
-
I dont think boons should be that strong in first place, they arent hex perks meaning they dont have one use and only reason they were nerfed was mostly just all about CoH that was so busted two years ago that it made some strategies like hit and run or even killers like legion or twins, hag mostly super weak because everyone could just selfcare into full health alone in boon zone and it was fast.
That radius (28 meters) would be ok if only boons didnt work through multiple floors so maps like rpd, game, midwitch are super boon sided and offer more use from then boon perks.
That 60 seconds auto reboon is bs tbh because if this would be real than boon perks would need to be even weaker or if you couldnt replace the boon perk on another totem so its just one time use but still its infinite perk that will just reapply itself.
Boon meta was in my opinion one of worst because one perk dominated the game more than mft and for long time and made m1 killers even worse to play as than mft.

A free M1, not a skeleton hit. They crouch, I catch up, I hit them.
As I wrote this works only in open or if survivors greed because normaly skeletons are used near windows and mostly pallets so there is plenty of time to make it there because slowdown from skeletons is quite big.
-
Only if want be be double sure you will get tha mori (for achivement mori wont help and he can more people that are dead on hook but requires for his power to be activated).

I was injured and being hard tunnled off hook and this guy was just spamming drones the moment I got to anything usable. Crouching mid-chase gives me free hits as Vecna. It would have done it here too. Just that tiny slow down in your speed screws up your timing. This killer gets free Undetectable and free Hindered for doing pretty much nothing and that's obnoxius.
There's a certain group of killers with obsessive followings who I really don't like their kits (or how their players choose to play) and that looks unlikely to change if they keep playing in this manner, or if they aren't reworked.
Vecnas skeletons arent free hit because if he hits them he either used elevation to spawn them on survviors level making them uncrouchable or he used then right behind you so they spawned into your hitbox or he used them when you were in animation which is where every killer will hit you and you wont be able to doge it if they dont miss.
When you crouch and doge them he gets slowed for solid time and most of then times he uses them its near some pallet or window so its more common for survivor to rerach safety than getting that m1 (if that happens in open are no wonder he gets that m1 hit even after you doge his skeletons).

There's not many others options anymore, tbh.
Most loops are either safe or total garbage. Half of the Killers don't really even care about loops either, they'll get hits regardless.
Some loops are just filers that are unsafe and bad to stay at, some are mid and great 50/50 and others are super safe and offer huge safety (shack, main, jungle gym). other things are killers some have antiloop and dont care ot are m1 and everything is against them but merchant even the fact she can force you out from strong loops with her drone still has quite easier counter than stronger killers and she still is m1 with no mobility like if you can beat killers like mayers normaly than merchant is piece of cake if your mates dont give up and give her free kill and preasure.
All my bad games against merchant were because one of the 4 key element of the match (the player, the survivor) give up or more of them but that doesnt make her broken and honestly every killer can win if someone gives up on 5 or 4 gens because at that poin winnng 3v1 killer has to screw up and hard, he must do mistakes one after another and survivors have to paly great (its possible but not more common, quite rare as getting with mmr blue eye nurse that doesnt know how to blink).

Meaningful and engaging counterplay.
Legions counterplay is to not heal, sometimes not mend. But you'll be mending most of the match.
SM's counterplay is to either crouch constantly (and probably get hit) or leave the loop when she brainlessly throws down a Drone. It isn't exactly engaging for the Killer either, but SM players have never been about engagement.
Sometimes it isn't about being fair or unfair. It's about how it feels. SM feels bad to play against because the counter-play is required, but horrifically boring and unpleasant. Few enjoy it.
Still majority of survivors I play against do only strategy which is holding shif+W and run to other loop when they dont need to, its not engaging to play against and still I play against it without switching to killers like blight or ghoul from my frustration to have this problem dealt with.

bro is mansplaining dbd
what was the point of this post if you seem to know everything? you're not acknowledging when people say why they hate skull merchant and are responding saying "just crouch". i have thousands of hours in dbd and "just crouching" is the stupidest response when people complain about skull merchant when she loses no distance when you need to crouch and you lose all momentum and distance gained. i've said before she cannot be rectified and "just crouching" does not make her any more fun to go against.
it's not the same as vecna or nemi or blight or billy because they actually get slowed down when you crouch to avoid their power. either by fatigue or power animations. skull merchant could gain blood lust 3 whilst you're fighting for your life to avoid scan lines by "just crouching". on top of being forced into deep wound, on top of being hindered. — you want me to crouch ?whilst im being hindered and in deep wound too? are you unaware of how unfun that sounds ?
besides even if you do win against her i doubt it'd have been fun and it'd have felt more like a chore than anything because nobody likes her. just crouching isn't going to magnificently make people enjoy versing her so i don't know why that's your response to everyone answering your question.
Pretty wild comparison, yeah vecan, nemi or any crouch tech is working because the killers get slowed but merchant is just m1 with now just small hinder (I think she has no haste) so she is just way worse clown that gets you injured after drone scans you for 3 times so she is just hybrid between legion and clown way worse than both of these killers with no solid chase power, you can just play and loop her injured and dont care.
Fun is another topic that depends on the each invidual (someone likes to loop clow, others like to play agains blight and hate nemi), everyone has personal preference and trap based killers are hated I would say more on average than zoning killers (in 2025 even domo is hated as zoner dont ask why) so her history plus he trap base gameplay will be hated no matter what.
I didnt dislike playing against her the reason wasnt her (unless it was tryhard chess merchant) but in 95% of matches minimaly it was because of leavers dcing and giving up on hook killing them self (I dont support this thing and Im not advertising it to others because I know its agains rules of this forum). Thats why I didnt like playing against her, because people would just go next and left you and your teammates on 5 gens agains m1 killer which is automatic lost if killer has no mercy and those chess merchants were rare it was just people leaving almost always and that was issue I had playing against her, not that she was strong or annoing like most of killers but that your team just gave her free win and made your game miserable.

I have enough of a picture just playing against the Strike version. It's not that you can't tell he's using it, it's that when he pops it in your face it's almost undodgeable. Unless you're running WoO and RNG blesses you with a zillion pallets then you're kinda screwed. If you compare an instadown that's almost impossible to not land to something like Pig or Wesker's dash attacks, which are super jukable and aren't even instadowns, it's seems pretty gross. I don't understand why everyone wants everything to be so easy now.
You missed one thing mayers was always easy with less uniqu techs than wraith who is just basic killer, dam I would say even legion had more techs and uniqe strategies than mayers so I think his techs are now more open due his versitility with multiple modes.
Pigs dash is trash and it cannot instadow, wesker chance for instadown is survviors mistake for being lazy and not curing plus wesker has his power always and I would say he is same or even better than mayers because he has more slowdown and has his dashes all the time which can be said about mayers who even with instadowns for one minute can be still rushed the same because he lacks the mobility compare to other stronger killers and his strike only works when he is close or survivor is zoned which is situation most of killers can work with, so same as against bubba just run and drop things on him.
Only thing that makes him stronger is his breaking and vualting synergy with chase perks but when he has chase build he has fast chases but idf survivors do gens than he cant stop them much unless in that game average chase lasts 10 seconds but thats survivors mistake for not staling him longer so others can do the gens.
His mori is just like ebony mori basekit its just finished and endurance now saves your butt unlike it did before.

Myers is not like these killers. You can loop blight unless the loop is long with straight edges. You can also loop bubba, its very hard to him to outplay an undropped pallet without going into a tantrum. Billy requires precision and as well an appropriately shaped loop.
Myers attack is extremely flexible like pig or chucky except it instadowns. You must pre-drop if he is in evil incarnate. I don't think it's overpowered but i think it's pretty boring. Decent myers are going to steam roll survivors that don't have this level of understanding that i doBlight cant belooped as any other m1 killer because he can rush you down faster than mayers and chucky and be in max 10 seconds ready to do it again, bubba can outplay only weaker loops due to speed and mayers still slows down a lot so unless he is right behind your butt you can get distance and use objects to make your way longer and harder to track so he will miss.
Chucky has more stronger dash than mayers (I play chucky a lot without addons), and as you said billy is harder but he can do the same things and bubba is just pallet droping siulator or you trying to find decend window.
This post is on same level as the one from that guy who claimed the springtrap is new ghoul and how op and broken he is.

That's right, they nerfed pallets so much that Myers can easily zone constantly, especially if he has a build for it, then good luck holding him for more than 10 seconds.

Nonsense, you just want him to stay that broken he is literally 0 skill killer! Yesterday I played 20 matches as a survivor at a high mmr, and out of 20 killers, 9 of them were against him. And you know, no one escaped. Half of them were survivors who simply gave up. It's clear he's impossible to counter without chain loops or pallets, he eats pallets like crazy (especially with green brush addon), definitely a problematic killer. All these "weird" killer tiers you say, almost all of them can be somehow countered or not have such lethal power than requiers 5s-10s to fill. I'm even willing to play against Ghoul, in those 20 matches, not a single Ghoul. Ghoul doesn't have a free one-shot 0 skill dash power like Myers and has to down survivor with an m1!

If he had 100% kill rate in your matches but you admited its because some survivor gave up than its clear you miss one thing, every killer can be succesfull if he gets kills for free from survivors that dont fight back just stay in place and stare. The green ambush addon gives him more speed but he slows more so its only good if you are zoned which is thing you must watch out against many killers but someone from "high mmr" survivor brackt should know that.
Ghoul has mobility same or very close to blight and he can get through health states faster than mayers can charge his evil incarnate mode (tier 3) so you are going agains m1 with strong fast vault and super great catch up mobility. Mayes just gets dash attack that oneshots but he has to earn it and still he is slowed down when breaking pallets with strike so unless you zone yourself you can make it to some structure unlike ghoul who just doesnt care unlike mayers.
You have big problems with instadowns, if the oneshots were so op as you claiming here on mayers than killers like nurse or blight and dracula wouldnt be above many killers that can instadown even with great speed like billy or oni.

Impossible to loop doesn't really mean he's overpowered. You just have to pre-drop. He's boring to play against but i guess a straight forward brute basic killer is what he's supposed to be
The nerfs you are suggesting are just reverts and in that he was literally downgraded from his original design. You sound like you didnt know that same thing blight, bubba, billy can do and much easier what a shock, on top of that two of them are way harder to counter than mayers.

If the killers are taking so long to hit, then the problem is theirs alone, because the devs specifically nerfed the pallets on most maps for you to make it easier for you to catch survs.
The pallets are back as where they were before they added more on many maps that didnt need them in first way, the pallets you maybe mean (the 2020 or 2017-18) were busted and one sided which many m1 killers cant play around.
Calling slightly above mediocre killer busted and op thats different bitter coffee, i cant imagive if the killes like mayers are op for you than how must feel to go against blight, ghoul, spirit, wesker, oni, dracula, pyramidhead, singularity or any other powerfull killer that is more stronger than mayers like billy.

I've only played him with Scratched Mirror and Fragrant Tuft of Hair since the rework. I refuse to touch Slughtering Strike.
Still you dont think he feels better, maybe you have not full picture because you dont like the slaughtering strike but its not that bad and people that call it brainless dont get there are multiple warnings he will use it like slowing down with his knife in animation above his head (that knife shines so bright its impossible to miss) and his speed isnt that great its quite easy to react to it when you hold the pallet. He has instadowns for 1 minute but he has no mobility so he is easy to hide from and evade and loops even he is slightly boosted m1 (without evil incarnate mode where he has strike) he still doesnt feel op, just better because game is now more based on dash killers and everyone is just rushing everything but this course was decided many years ago.

I don’t play as Myers so really don’t have any skin in the game here. You’re entitled to your opinion, but just don’t expect any action from BHVR because almost nobody else in the community is complaining about Myers being OP.
Why is not many people dont complain, because he is just slightly above average with best build (perks and addons).
Im glad for the rework so I can play him without tombstone and finally he doesnt feel so bad as before where his power build up was same as trappers set up.

I agree with you, the old Myers was better and it was more fun to loop than this terminator with the pig's dash - at least she doesn't down survs with one dash. I hate one-shots, especially on killers with high ping, it's literally an advantage for them.
No joke why he was easy to loop when he was just m1 killer with nothing to help him in chase (15% vault speed in tier 3 and 2 but than just m1), all that carryed him was tombstone. Now he has actualy something to play with always and doesnt feel so bad and punishing if you dont have tombstone as he was before.

Well, I played against really good survivors as Ghoul and Krasue, and they were bodyblocking and taking me to very safe tiles where they could waste my time as much as possible and still get the gens done and all that.
Saying the new killers are OP is a huge exaggeration XD
Those killers indeed are A-tier and have potential to be arguably called strong, but DO NOT say they have 0 counterplay because that's straight ignorance.
Ghoul definitely has a higher skill floor with his leaps, and on the other hand Krasue is easier to use; however, there is far more counterplay to her like bodyblocking and being effective with eating mushrooms that give you even temporary protection, if I remember correctly.
Which is still more than enough.
Tbh I feel krasue is harder to use because off how she needs play more with her power than ghoul, she needs to infect you first than switch to head form and than she can catch up and hit you but her counterplay is way bigger and its way bigger time waste for her than for ghoul who can get through health states faster and has better mobility so bodyblocks arent such problem for him as they are for krasue.

I feel like you can do the same, just crouch for a second, with the scan lines.
but I don’t see nearly the amount of hate for Vecna. I’m just so, so confusedVecna has more harder power to understand but he has achivement for unique items that are un to use plus he is rare so survivors kinda crave for him more than merchant.
She is just hated like I hate legion to but more and more I played I actualy reliesed he either has to run full chase build with top addons to get downs and be pain in the butt or he is just harmless with small stab.
Just grudge and hate from past plus she is rare so they forget or dont remember how to play around her power (even the one counter is just what most survivors do against most of killers and thats just hold W to next loop and her drones arent problem).

Just people have that bad "nostalgia" from her past version and hate her same as when people think old DBD was far better (it was chaotic mess both sides had op broken things and tuneling and camping, facecamping or sluging was like 1000% stronger and much harder to counter but the nostalgia effect look I have it nowdays to just Im like "I will play trapper" and then Im brought back into reality because he still sucks and it hasnt that atmosphear like back then with fog and thick grass that helped him even he still sucked).
Its just grudge and hate from past still blinding them, to see she is actualy quite harmless nowdays (more than unknown for sure).

you know, you can crouch under drone beams and they go right through you. Even then, you need a lot of scans to do anything
Typical sm hater he just faced her when she was stronger and has ptsd from her like vet from war (no insult to war vets), even the fact she had always dump counterplay that is used against many dash killers (crounch tech for blight, krasue, billy, demogorgan, etc.) and for vecnas skeletons just hold ctrl for second and move.

Well just go on Yt there are plenty of videos about it, but in short first she was strong in her first released version so than nerfed (little rework) came and mede her by today standarts weaker mediocre killer at best but more like c-tier, the kick was she was released into meta that had probably best synergy with her power and terms like "chess merchant"were created not like she was only killer that could hold 3gen (3 gens very close to each other which are easy to patrol and hard to be done if killer stays by them, mostly created by few reason first is map gen spawn rng that spawns them from the start and reason its problem is either killer will spot them from the start and decides to play around them and protects them or survviors have no game sence in what gens they should do first meaning theys just do gens fast but advance from one side to other so the last 3 gens that left are 3 gen and then game slows a lot and survivors mostly loose in long game because they forget to create last 3 gens that killer can hardly protect or even cant like against no mobility killer two gens across the map is gg) knight could do it or singularity but she was best at it with meta that was strong regression gen kick perks like Call of brine and overcharge, eruption (all these perks were much stronger back then and gen regression was same like in 2v8 maybe even faster just so you can imagine it how strong it was (nowdays you mostly chase survivor off gen and dont kick it if its not highly progressed but back then you always first kicked the gen).
Last and key problem that if existed back then the "chess merchant" wouldnt be able to beat strong survivor teams in long game was no gen damage limit like now you can damage generator as killer only 8 times (perks like ruin can do it more times but other regression perks just can do it only 8 times and then the gen is bloked and cant be regressed or damaged by any perk except ruin which is hex that can be romoved by destroying the totem).
So just her ability to hold certain places locked with strong regression perks that didnt required some action to be activated (like hooking from pop or pain res, or down from jolt or eruption etc.) and no gen damage limit (which is now 8 times and then killer cant regress the gen so survviors can do it and finish it) made her super hard to deal with for average teams and even comp teams which I believe beat her but it took ages like almost hour a match which was not good so instead devs just gave gens damage limit and nerfed little those gen kick perks they nerfed merchant into f-tier killer (first of its kind, even trapper wasnt ever been so low like merchant), they super hard nerfed those gen kicking perks and ruin and lastly they added gen damage regression number (its 8 now), in common devs fashion they take action little like drunk man walking they do one step forward and then two back and repeat, sometimes they do two front but mostly they stay in place but they moving.
Now they gave her super minor buffs (she is still worst killer in the game and in like top 3 most hated with ghoul and knight) and wanted to ask if its enough so they dont have to do the rework but unfortunately for them people want her reworked and not her being in this garbage state so there should be rework somewhere in 2026.

I know what you mean Trapper is frustrating cause you have to do so much setup and survivors can very easily disarm a trap I'm starting to think survivors should need a item to be able to disarm traps. I feel ya on the bubba I was a base bubba for a long while then I started using beast marks and the difference is night and day he needs that 2% chainsaw ms base
They dont even need to dissarm it they can get caught into good trap when you are like 20 meters away or less like 15 and still get out of it on first try in less than 3 seconds (its even documwented I saw otz have same problem on swamp map where one girl got caught and still got out in like 3 or less seconds which is nuts when we take in count that amonth off time and effort it takes for trapper to even have some chance to get that trap working).
Thas his problem or survivor injured gets caught across the map and what it gives you ……. nothing he just dissarms that trap and nothing happens if you dont have that addon that gives you instadowns with traps honing stone or whats it called (not like when healty in traped he gets injured but injured has no effect just small time waste for that survvior and nothing more, no health state take or even bloody deep wound nothing just pure frustration for you because he lost from 3 to 10 seconds of time but you lost trap that you cant recall or even reset if you dont run iri stode ofcourse but thats rng but better than nothing).
Another bs I have witnessed last month is that some actions like going into locker that has trap infront of it the trap doesnt work even if the survivor walks on it, when he is in animation he just gets caught maybe if he lets go of animation like if it is gen or totem but locker in compleatly busted because trap works like 30% of times which another split into trappers face.
Survivors can counter trapper in many different ways on the end of the day he is just m1 killer who has bad power that is just working only if survivor makes mnistake and its huge rng (survivor can compleatly go around it or never go where the trap is so its just tens of seconds from pick up to walking to place where to place it and setting it up to get nothing for the killer and when it works then it can be way less effective than even pinheads chains that get broken like half of them when they spawn its just garbage (like you can place perfect trap and survvior can just somehow go around it, this killer is the least reliable killer in the game his power only woorks when sun shines and no clouds are on the sky, wind is fine and not strong and no rain is coming in next 20 hours time window thats how he feels just pure set up that takes sometimes perfection and it still plays like roll of the dice).
Im not biggest fan of making every killer just dash attack monster but if devs rework is just give him solid dash attack yeah Im for it because his power is just not working even when it should and for many years especialy now there arent places where you can hide your traps in like no grass thats tall or thick the devs got rid of it so its pretty clear to see where you step.

Agreed we have Killers who are in the 40-50% killrate who are in need of help and adjustments we also have killers with pickrate of .01% the running joke of "The 3 mains" is also a sad truth for some killers like Artist or Twins
Devs need to focus on buffing the low to mid tiers like Ghost face or Trapper for example to be more viable and we can have more variety and nerfing S-tiers like Blight and Ghoul.
I believe Devs have given up on the Skullmerchant rework and are now working on the Trickster Rework and then next will be Trappers Rework.
Facts are some weaker killers have huge funbase (I believe they do) or many people that would play than way more if they werent so underpowered and very restricted in addons and perks variability due to their certain addon and perks dependency (like on trapper its both iri addons or his purpel stone addon so his traps arent that of a joke). Thats what is holding these killers in variety because they arent even mid or fair to play as, like I would love to play more trapper as back in a old days of DBD but then I try it for one match or even think about it more and I brought either of memories or cold bloded truth why its not good idea (super fast game where I cant do almost anything, and even if Im playing good with my power survivors still arent effected much) so I rather play wesker or someone who can do something like bubba who is dependent on his addons like beast marks and iri flesh (so he can play around loops more and has some better snowball) but he still has something compare to trapper and ghostface, or vecna he is fun and has more powers or dracula who has in his kit solution for any situation or ghoul who is easy almost like legion but can do x times more and isnt joke with knife, thats why you see more meta killers that are fun to play as (artist, singularity, twins are strong killers but they arent fun as ghoul or blight, nurse, wesker so thats why you see them rarely).

To clarify, I wasn't talking about a character that only had a military background, I was talking about like uniform and stuff, but I now realize that maybe a survivor with camo could be overpowered in stealth.
No such thing could ever beat blendette in stealth so I think some military skins are ok, but there are many survivors skins that are military (like resident evil some skins or that r6 guy operator skin), or aot skins are kinda military (from aot universe) so you have to more be specific what is military skins you want like nowdays moder desing or the ww2 oriented skins.

it's fine being a perk.
I more for buffing and reworking some killers that needed as much like trapper than giving it as basekit, i find more fitting if killers power isnt trash as basekit so he isnt dependent on addons and perks like addict on his drugs to even work normaly.

I think you have that backwards for the trap killers, those are generally seen as core perks for those killer so they have TIME to setup.
True this perk is best for build up killers so some trap based killers like trapper, hag or killers that need to power up their power so its better like nemesis or plaugue (its better for her it slows survivors on gens and gives her time to infect as many as she can), old mayers was very dependent on corrupt because he had to build up his power so this perk is just good for killers that have some kind of set up or for killers that have struggle to get downs fast like m1 killers such as pig, legion because they can use corrupt to their full advantage (for oni is good he needs time for getting his blood so more time for chaseing is always good) unlike stronger killers that have power in their full from the start and can go get faster downs like ghoul, nurse, blight, billy (his best is overdrive mode but he can do fine without it) so those killers dont need it that much becaue on average they dont have problem with getting downs (which is action that turns corrupt off) or building preasure.
-
Wasnt it the issue of that map before?
Playing m1 killers nowdays is just hard. very hard and pig well thats just another gamble if you cant get fast downs to apply the head traps then you most likely just will be dependent on tunneling one out and try to get another one or two kills.

no one said anything about hiding to avoid being tunneled, i have said many times i have been able to loop the kiiler so long that they abandon chase which means the killers tunneling doesnt work. Your saying there is no skill in looping? no skill expression in the game at all because its all luck and you think that someone like me can be lucky that often, match after match, for years which is the reason why i dont find tunneling an issue….. lol what can anyone say to that mindset? hope your luck improves?
The cold truth is if survivor is good in chase (and has strong perks on top) than killer who can count and has some experience will see it and then count if its woth continuing to chase that survivor (like if the survivor is being tunneled and runs into part of the map with strong loops that havent been used like nice chain of loops leading to main or shack) if he is running into strong position or he will be hard to get even at medium loops experienced killer will drop that chase and will go for other survivor that isnt that problematic to get (simple as in reality, why would wolf chase healty and strong deer when he can go against old, tired and mostly injured deer that wont be so hard to get, the answer is simple and with same logic killers with experience think they either think how to win or they say screw it and o just for one tunnel that looses them the game or they dont know it and cant see it yet so they still commit to chase or tunnel that will make them loose).
Its just simple if you are good in looping and are hard to get either by your position or with perks, killer will either drop it because he is smart and thinks, predicts or he will commit for two reasons 1) he is just tryhard who wants some challange and doesnt care for win or wants his chasing improove or 2) he just isnt must experienced and doesnt see that good survivor is leading him into place filled with strong loops with lot of safety and with strong perks.

i can play killer and not tunnel and upload how fast the opponent does gens no problem as my killer matches im always getting sef teams where gens fly. although all you need to do is google it and you will see killers start the match and in 45 seconds 3 gens are done. my soloq matches can take longer than 5min because im solo and my team wont touch gens…thats never been in dispute
If survivors spread and do gens even with fast chases and good early preasure killer can be hit by multiple gens being done on few hooks against survivors that know how to build preasure and win, there are many videos where killer is doing well but he still gets rushed like he couldnt get single hook.
-
I think its some server problem because i get this especialy in 2v8 where are some actions delayed and biggest one is pallet drop action, it doesnt matter if my ping is 26 or 100 if that server (the cause of the issue I think) has some delay Im suffering it even if I had best ping on the whole server and skillchecks are hit by it to so you need to prehit them if you want hit greats which is way riskier not to mention the increase of sudden lags around corners which is something Im hit by more often even with few fps droping or just one and good ping and it always happens when I need it most (sarcasm for those who dont get it).

Ghoul has very little counterplay, true.
Krasue on the other hand can be looped infinitely on certain decently long loops with a predropped pallet.
As her vault takes a long time, you can get to the other side of the loop rather quickly.
I mean biggest nerf krasue took was pallet update where they reduced loops lenght and made them shorter, that made her head form limited gurn radius very bad at many loops and nerfed her now she is kinda back but she has still very hard counter by bodyblocking which is something good swf can all day. Yes those loops that are shorter with pallet or two pallets anc window counter her a lot.

No, you're talking about 'forcing a DS'.
It's not like I don't know what you're referring to with these scenarios, but here's the problem from my perspective:
I've fallen for this only once.
In every subsequent attempt by a survivor to use DS offensively, it has resulted in a win for me. Because all you have to do is not hit spacebar on the DS user. You're talking about a locker, but a survivor in a locker isn't doing gens, and is thus not my concern. You're talking about slow-vaulting, but that's only a concern if I am chasing them, which I never do on anyone who may still have active DS. There's no point in camping the body either, since that slug is not going to do anything for a while and you have other targets to get onto.
There is no way to actually 'force a DS' because you cannot make a killer pick you up. Nothing you do can force them to hit that spacebar.
leaving them doing whatever they want.
Provided it doesn't help the survivors in any way. That's something that consistently gets omitted.
Doesnt matter what it was for you its loss for the killer either way because if survivor who got unhooked forced bodyblock with some kind of endurance effect than killer decided to punish him for it (very common behavior especialy if he bodyblocked healty survivor its easy to tell killer will go most likely for guy that is oneshot and cant be saved by perk like dead hard or otr anymore) by chasing him some time and that survivor is doing some action that is forcing a grab then killer has few options A to just eat the ds and commit to another chase wasting his precious time or B wait it and trying to get timing right but that survivor can have head on and force another chase or just cause even with waiting it out time loss for the killer or C killer csn leave and go for another survivor which is biggest time waste if that killer doesnt hacve great catch up with solid antiloop like blight, ghoul, billy. All of this is very effective if other survivors do gens and killer has few options, best are stronger killers with catch up powers because they can deal with it more easier than just m1 killers, now if this will do survivors like three times they can get around of plus minus the 90 seconds which is gen time or almost whole gen for single survivor and thats huge hinder for most of killers.

If you swap between two target that is no hard tunneling is it?
And ofcourse you can eat the first DS and slug for the next one. The slugged Survivor can still get use of unbreakable, can be picked up, crawl under a pallet or in the open for flash light saves. While if DS only works once this survivor would be dead on the third hook in the instant.
I try to punish hard tunneling.
If he goes down for second time ( sugesting ds has two uses) than its still near one minute of time to waste from the killer which is gen or near whole gen and thats just great time waste for the killer.
Hard tunneling can be punished by super strong ds but you will also punish the killers that dont tunnel and buff the agressive use of ds double so again swf wins.
Better fix to punish hardcore tunneling is just basekit changes not just making few perks 100% stronger and call it a fix. The nicer idea was some motivation like unique hooks that motivated killers to play more nice and some punishments like increase gen speed for kill (hooking someone 3 times in the row, not for dying on first hook) at five or four gens which id number where I agree tunneling isnt needed but from 3 to 1 gen there shouldnt be any punishment for tunneling even if its hardcore one because at that point 4 survivors can do the rest of gens with ease.

Hey guys,
First of all, thanks for all these feedbacks.
I red them all and I will try to give some opinions to them.
- Increase the Stun duration: I am completly against this. It is not a good feeling on the Killer side to be disabled for that long. I think 4 is the golden mid. From time to time I thought only about a 3 second stun but a Sprintburst for the Survivor to get into a better position against Killers like Nurse, Blight and so on which would have been archived by its own against weaker Killers.
- Abusing the perk: This is a topic which could be archived right now aswell if all Survivors equip DS. But I think the Elusive State or whatever it was called could be great against using DS to bodyblock and such things.
The most important thing for me is to try to stop hard tunneling. Which the change of 2 charges of DS could archive.
Why do I think this?
Getting hit by a DS is always a slap on the wrist for the Killer. But normaly it means now the survivor can be tunneld for free. If you don´t want to get hit by another DS you just don´t tunnel them.
And as some people claimed 4 DS would be the horror. I think in no game more than 2 DS would happen. The First one if you want to tunnel. You get hit and tell yourself: Damn I need another target or I get hit twice. The other would be if you try to focus another survivor out by tunneling. Atleast now you must change your tactic away from tunneling or you would lose the game.
The two uses will do just two metas first is tunnel one guy and fight through it because if you hook others (counting with the fact that when it will be free it will be used a lot than other meta perks) they can use it agressively so best is just focus on someone who seems to be the “weakling” meaning he isnt good at looping and downing him is way esier than other survivors so ds wont help him that much and forces other survivors to try and help hom creating opportunity for building more preasure by pulling survivors from gens and getting hits or at best slugs while pushing the tunnel, or second meta that is just wider tunneling meaning you pick two survivors (like for exsample the first hooked and then someone who is weaker at looping if you can choose) and go between them and other two just injure or slug for preasure so you dont get ds from those two like you would get if you tunneled just one but ds 60 seconds duration can still hit killer if he gets fast down and hook and goes after that unhooked survivor (choosing less survivorsto hook you are doging meta perks like dead hard, deliverence or even agressive use of ds).

ah the dribbling endurance counterplay that brings a tear to my eye then i remembered they got rid of it's counterplay on the ptb and buffed it from 3 seconds to 5 seconds then went back to 3 on live but made it so enduring didn't counter it
I think endurending didnt counter it before (maybe it did but its been some time) or it was fix later when they changed endurending a little but there was bug bacm in time with hag, she was stuned for half the duration which was quite funny.

I am gonna use it aggressively
But 'using it aggressively', in DS' case, means getting yourself hooked, then not contributing to the team, and then giving the killer a down. That's not a winning strategy if the killer doesn't pick you up, which they shouldn't if you make it too obvious that you have DS.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4038724#Comment_4038724
But the point is that 4-stacking it doesn't really do much for the perk. It doesn't have internal synergy and overlap. If one person is getting their DS activated, someone else isn't.
What are the odds that all four survivors get to be downed within 60 seconds after being unhooked? That's the only scenario in which 4 copies of DS would actually be distinguishable as four copies, as opposed to at least one being a dead slot.
4 man with ds means it doesnt matter who you hook they all get second chance and most likely use it agressively (by forcing bodyblock), you can tunnel someone for preasure when you are on 1 or 2 gens left with few hooks not to mention 4 man teams running ds doesnt run just ds but other strong meta perks like unbreakable or dead hard so their options are huge and only one who is having some chance are meta killers which have powers that can deal with all these perks. Just imagine they are very good in doing gens and they arent super bad at looping then with m1 killer you dont have much options because they will have deffinitely 3 gens done on your 3-4 hooks which is huge difference in preasure. If you dont belive ds can be used for bodyblocks then you probably havent met good 4 man than slowed you a lot just with effective bodyblocks (I have seen many games, streaks with m1 killers failed just becuase the survivors had great timing with bodyblocks and gave each other protection hits that made killer loose preasure drasticaly).
What you saying is same as is it worth running ruin when it gets destroyed in less than one minute of the match, well you never know. The bodyblocks I mean are the ones where unhooked guy doesnt even care if you down him because some will surely have unbreakable or exponencial so it doesnt matter who you tunnel or not if you dont do it from the start and be successful the survivors will mostly just get destroyed by 4 mans without powerfull killer or decent killer who isnt joke when it comes at punishing survivors for altruistic plays like huntress or bubba.

I'll let you have that on the condition that a survivor with DS active like that can't drop pallets or flashlight save.
If they maybe nerfed it to 3 seconds or kept 4 and made that survivor broken and made him unable to use items that could work but with current effects it would be gg with m1 killer that doesnt have crazy catch up against 3 or 4 survivors running it (and after short time it will free so chances would be super high to have it in every game atleast on two survivors).

Limitations to one use more likely because 4 people can stack it in match.
With how conditional it is, would 4 people all having it even come into play at any point?
Pretty common against sweat teams 4 ds, 4 dead hards, minimaly 2 unbreakables and some other meta perks problem with ds is that this perk isnt that bad the distance you get is like 12 meters in straight line if we dont count one for drop and killers with no mobility can do much against whole team who is running it and using it agressively with bodyblocks and otr or dead hard especialy m1 killers (even ghostface cant fight it because hitting survivor removes his stalk meter progress) so many killers whould get harder destroyed even more than now against these teams that go just full of meta. Blights and ghould doesnt care or nurse (if she doesnt get her bug) but ghostface, trapper, wraith, pinhead will get smacked by full team running ds that can be used two times.

Not if the Buttonpress is only in the pick up phase.
I don´t want DS to be usable at a certain point, Just easier to use for all people.
Idk why you think I want to be skillcheck problem for someone, this is something that gives me most of answers to your idea so yes if DS will have timed window to use like now 60 seconds after unhook and then instead of skillcheck there will be button to activating it in pick up animation (like now certain time window for its use) then Im not against it if you mean just removing the skillcheck.
By your button press I kinda feared you meant it to be like dead hard is so I take this as answer.

Ok, I am now pretty sure that you are only trolling/baiting in this Forum. And since I answer to you, you probably achieved your goal.
Making it a Button Press but not a Skill Check is basically 0 difference from it being a Skill Check when it comes to its effect, lol. It will not suddenly be stronger. If you are a somewhat decent player you will hit the Skill Check anyway and if you dont want to use DS, you can just not press anything and you save it for the next Unhook.
The only diffrence would be that players who are not able to hit the Skillcheck (which are new players, players on not so powerful machinery and players who have in general a hard time hitting Skillchecks) would be able to use DS. Which would make it more consistent to activate, but would not make the Perk stronger.
I dont see why would I be troling, ds now has skillcheck that isnt that even hard unless you are on dedicated server (100+ ping for all) or you get packet loss or some form of lag when the skillcheck is up. Ds is timed for reason to not be strong perk as in its early states where killer would be hit by it even if he did nothing wrong (no tunnel or slug just got down) and by saving it? you can just dont hit skillcheck and let it be saved for next time (not hitting it as mis just dont press anything and let it pas) then you cna use ds other round after unhook.
You didnt even described how it should behave but from what you wrote I think you meaned ds to be like dead hard is currently as its turns on after you are hooked and then its press button ability (maing ds press button would be pretty huge deal even if its just first down just imagine killer reaching almost hook with survivor on his back and just as he is about to hook survvior presses button and escapes, wasting from 5-14 more seconds that doesnt seems much but if whole lobby had it then its huge deal and it wont fix tunneling just only evols it into different form like going for 2 survviors and injure or slug the rest untill these two are dead). Skillcheck can be bigger but if you want it press button it should be only timed window like 4 seconds in which you can after killer picks you up you can choose to hit it or not something like this Im not against but as I mentioned you didnt expended your idea about your "press button ds" enough to make clear picture as how it should look like so Im not troling Im just confused by what you mean, will be like dead hard by your deffinition or the skillcheck option will be just timed window where with a press of button you will trgger it? thats mystery you didnt mention.

we all know most survivors aint it, lets be realistic here, u either 4men strong or at least 3men strong or nothing, i dont like to lose to people that are far beneath me in skill, yet if i dont go stacked with a good team, my team will be destroyed and it wont even be my fault, i will literally lose on behalf of others which is fine, but at least in other games u have the chance to carry a team, not in this game tho, the killer isnt forced to push A-B sites, the killer can just go for the least skilled ones and win, thats why i stay on strong teams as everyone should nowdays, a quick solution is ingame chat, or ping system, can help newer players to adapt quicker and get better quicker.
You can carry team as survivor untill killer uses some brain power with his experience and counts that he cant win by chasing you or some good looper so he goes after someone who is easier to get but I wouldnt call it speciality of this game because this is in many others, in DBD killer needs to build and keep presure so easiest way is fast chases and dont let survivor recover from injures and hook preasure, ingame chat would be good (I have lost against some bubba who proxied basement and tunneled first who got there but whe had chance to get 3 man out I lead him to gates and one girl saved the other but they healed under hook in dead zone that was created because most of chases took there so if i could warn them instead expect spiderman game sence we could get out 3 alive even against his good and strong tactic that is cut only with perks but thats why i always point that information is key in many games and even people with less skill against stronger opponent can win when they have good information). The survivors failed only because they thought he wont come back but they were kinda wrong (Idk why reset under hook when gates are powered and 99 to just go do it into corner or just near open or 99 gate but that would be expecting to much from randoms).

My point was, they are strong, but it doesn't feel cheap when you get hit by their powers. Especially by Nurse, since she is suffering by several severe bugs for 2 years so far and counting, like the rubber banding bug that can just steal your blink attempt out of nowhere. Meanwhile, whenever you get hit by your usual dash slop, it always feel like the guy just pressed a button and got you, without much effort. This is why dash slop is hated.
for her number 1 killer spot
She is no longer number 1, that's the Blight's place now. Nurse is number 2 at most. She lacks map control due to slow map mobility, which makes her easy to genrush, while Blight's map control is unmatched. Beside already mentioned bugs, she is also the most sensitive to "subtle" speedhackers, as just a few percent of speed increase can make it impossible to catch up to the survivor who is holding W. Meanwhile Blight is the most tolerant to speedhackers, since no "subtle" speedhacker can outrun the Blight. Yes, we now have to account for cheaters when we discuss game balance, as they are now so frequent they are part of the base game at this point. So no, I don't think the Nurse needs another nerf, at least not until her bugs are fixed and her basekit reverted to the original form.
I forget she still has that bug I didnt played her for long time.

Yeah just make it a button you can press. No Skill Check needed.
Thats same as making sprintburst into button press to activate like in 2v8 on escapist class, it will make it strong as hell and it will be almost as its original version where everyone had it and could hit you with it but back then (obsession had ds after first down and then everyone had to reach 45% of wiggle bar and it was full lobby of it) you could drible with downed survivors to the hook to counter it which isnt the case nowdays (each drop is what 25% of wiggle bar) so i dont think its good idea because if it will be just be hooked and the when downed press button like dead hard killers will be punished even for not tunneling (unless its timed but still its gross).
Nowdays it had 60 seconds of time which is time where you wont be able to loop the killer anyway and it more servers as antitunnel, skillcheck isnt that hard to hit tbh maybe if you get lag or some spikes, fps drops from packet loss etc. but other than that its still good perk.

"Absolutely no excuse now for you guys to not have this perk in your loadout to counter tunneling."
Except that it is really bad at doing that.
How? ds just gives you other round of chase, slap on dead hard and you are kinda save unless its killer that is very strong and has great catch up and doesnt care at all like nurse, blight, ghoul, dracula. DS is strongly used even weponised by survivors that arent even being tunneled like bodyblocking the killer and then jumping into locker to force him eat the ds and escape the punishment for stalling so its very strong perk since its release.

Billy and Nurse are the definition of good killers. Just give a strong power that is difficult to pull off. Instead, they now give every other killer a simple "press X to catch up" power that doesn't require a smallest fraction of skill to use.
Billy is kinda dash killer to but his power is well done and nurse has most op power because she is even slower than survivors running speed so she is just all about her power and nothing more (the slower the killer is the more he is reliant on his power to get something done like chucky, huntress, slinger, spirit) but she still needs to not see auras when she is charging her blink just like spirit and she will be solid and more fair for her number 1 killer spot (auras are her problem and thats why weskers perk was nerfed because her blink attacks were m1 hits so exposed with aura read meant wallhack with teleport plus oneshot which was fixed but not that much).
