What's up with the hostility? You need to just relax dude. I'm over the whole harvester thing. Kill it. Don't kill it. No skin off my back. I just abandon maps with pistons killing harvester now.

"What's up with the hostility when I'm posting bad takes? Anyways, I'm totally over the whole harvester thing... except I insta abandon bases that kill Harvey with pistons."

  • @Chordyceps said:

Is it just me, or are normal difficulty outposts kinda the most fun difficulty outpost to make? Something about having limited blocks and a small trap economy makes for a really fun challenge. And you have to really consider how you group traps together, since just scattering them throughout your base won't produce the best results.

And at the same time it feels kinda like you're helping to teach newer players. Showing them what kind of things to look out for and what tricks they could use in their own bases. I like to think my bases can show players that there's more to trap placement than placing an Impaler around a corner.

    Anyone else feel similarly?

But if you place too many traps together, then you're making a killroom. And that's not fun for the poor Raider.

Not to mention that I would love to know how you place traps to kill Raiders when traps are too slow and the grapple hook exists tbh.

  • I find it genuinely funny that people (or should I say "Raider biased" people?) whine about killboxes and probably cheer for how the devs are going to let you abandon bases you don't like (aka can't win easily) instead of fixing their Builder progression systems, restrictive base settings and how they favor bunker bases (Not being able to move the genmat lmao) and lack of ability to handle extreme turtling and speedrunning at the same time, partly caused by waaaay too many things being Builder progression, which are the real reasons for killboxes existing.

Like, it's amazing how so many of the MYM community pretty obviously comes from DBD, they think that Builders should have to come up with 4d chessmaster bases (which are impossible without killboxes because everything is too reactable) to barely get 1 to 2 kills AND that Raiders should easily get the GenMat because "tHeIr TiMe Is ValUaBlE". This level of entitlement, and how the devs are 100% going to go the DBD route for balancing, just lets me know that this game isn't going to last. Or it's going to get yet another unhealthy community for an unhealthy game, which is everything BHVR seems to pump out evidently.

Dreamnomad: completely reasonable reply that shows they appreciate hard maybe even "maze like" bases.

AMOGUS: A basic childish response in attempt to make OP feel inferior.

Username says it all, almost EVERY among us user I've come across has been... Suss

It's funny how you focused on the one response where I decided to not waste time on entitled reasoning. And not the other ones where I elaborated. And that's also completely false, their reply isn't reasonable, Dreamnomad actually said they want Builders to spend a fuckton of resources trying to kill Harvey and that they should, basically, "have the chance to defend Harvey even then".

Because Raiders have "places to be", and "their time is valuable" (Why are you playing a game then?), according to this community, so therefore they shouldn't be expected to use their eyes to find an entrance and should have a "get out of a trap free" card available.

Your username says more btw, you tried to step in and clean up for OP and failed. lmao

Honestly, I'm far more accepting of all the options you mentioned. If you want to spend a bunch of resources pathing a deadman's trap guard to try and kill it then cool, go for it. I at the very least have the opportunity to defend the harvester that way. All of those options you mentioned also cost substantial more resources than a single piston.

Nah, you can try playing without a guide + meat shield instead of getting your hand held for a change.

and i don't play maps over 250 meters. so if you make those you won't see me. everyone has a prefered playstyle. some of us like to challenge the raider's wit rather than having them play follow the ai leader.

These people really are laughable, they don't want to even think on how to approach a base, they just want bases to be easy and short and it shows. Something, something on how "their time is valuable" (why are you playing games then???) when it really isn't (you probably work at McDonalds) and they're just impatient and making excuses.

If you don't want to deal with these "maze" bases, play on Dangerous or Normal where you CAN get your little 1 minute wins consistently. Problem solved.

  • @HangryMogwai said:

In agreement that the HRV Piston Glitch needs to be fixed. Starting to see it in back to back matches and don’t really want to spend more time finding the entrance than it’d take to complete the outpost (especially on a 4500+ capacity outpost). Hate seeing it too as some of the folks using it have really original looking bases (saw a pirate ship this morning), but I’m not about to give accolades for using annoying exploits.

I love it when people deliberately being smart is somehow a "glitch", really shows that the DBD crowd is coming to MYM with their mindsets. Something tells me you all would hate games like Mario Maker.

And finding the entrance takes under a minute, if it's not at the start of the base. Harvey's route logic is a thing, just search a base with the pathing in mind and you'll find it quickly.

    It doesn't make it asinine.

If you want to heal yourself consistently without bringing in your now nerfed medkits, you'll be bringing Self Care. Diminished healing is still healing which is preferable to no healing whatsoever when push comes to shove. Besides you'll need to take Self Care now anyway because CoH gives a speed boost to healing others rather than letting you heal yourself and it don't stack with medkits no more.

Literally, either the team cooperates in healing each other or you run self care.

I just want to keep rubbing bones cause blue fire go brr.

dead hard also had a problem where people could "mysteriously" auto-use it (if you know what I mean)

and you couldn't prove it was cheat, you could only guess

now this will help to reduce it, there are plenty of good and fun perks to use, people should let dead hard go to be honest

Nah, there really isn't "plenty", that's why DH was meta. I see you're Killer biased though. Also, 99ing SB will now become meta, hope you're ready to complain about that in a week after Mid-Chapter.

You can bait auto DH users too btw. Swing near them.

i guess since the killer can hit the survivor it isnt considered holding the game hostage?

You're missing the point. Both of these scenarios aren't holding the game hostage because there is a common sense, obvious way to bypass the problem. Killers camping hatch and waiting for you to show yourself? Do gens. Survivors not going through the hatch? Hit them or close the hatch.

Survivors hiding all game and not going for hatch or trying to win or do anything when it's 1 survivor left... use a detection power if you're playing one of those Killers, use a perk, or keep looking for hatch. Check gens while you're at it, generally Survivors trying that need to touch gens, kicking every gen you see and checking around gens with progress on them can help.

  • @Skill_issue said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3375262#Comment_3375262

face camping bubba? not as much like tombstone myers but still should be addressed

i guess the exit gate butt dance celebration is considered ok since the exit sequence has happened

giving the killer an option to concede such as opening the gates when 4 gens are done and no deaths and/or at least 3 hooks have not happened would be nice. at that point the killer is clearly getting stomped.

So, just to confirm: You want both tombstone add-ons nerfed or deleted, right? Because the Killer should have to either double hook the Survivor or "outplay" individual Survivors several times in a match to be able to kill them?

And lmao THAT'S something that needs to be addressed? Just shove them out. Yeah, teabagging is toxic, same for sitting at the gates... but you're actually on the forums complaining about it. Like, what, do you want the devs to waste resources ejecting Survivors the moment they set foot in the gate? They'll sit just outside the gate instead.

Here, if they're common for you, here's a way to benefit from that: Blood Warden.

And there is a way to concede (albeit not the best). Move to the basement or a corner of the map (or face a wall near the gate) then face the wall. Watch some Youtube and open up the gates if the Survivors refuse to open them. Done.

The Overcharge skill check is smaller than Decisive Strike, unexpected AND can spawn at anywhere from 4'oclock to 11'oclock on the wheel.

It is not a normal skill check, I'm afraid. It's quite like old Ruin, if you can't hit it, you simply won't do gens. Ever.

Overcharge is "quite like old Ruin"... you've blatantly forgotten old Ruin if you deadass tried to make that comparison.

I'd like to see something on that Overcharge being smaller than DS, it's absolutely NOT unexpected (it always happens whenever you tap a broken gen) and it spawning anywhere is normal for skill checks.

  • @Pulsar said:

    It isn't, imo.

It unfairly punishes newer players and punishes based off of bad RNG.

I'd like to see that effect scrapped and a new one take its place. Maybe have it give a status effect like obliviousness on a 45 second cooldown.

How does a basic skill check punish new players? As soon as you see it, you just react. And if you miss it, then you just remember and hit it next time.

By this logic, Pain Res, Jolt, etc, unfairly punishes newer players too.

    -"I sense you're a "Killer main""

I play both sides well but I play killer at a higher level. I have always pushed for DBD to be a "fair game". I will be the first to say Hag should get a nerf so that survivors can scratch out her traps while crouched. Needing a flashlight is unfair because Franklins exists. Most people go nuts and say well Hag is a bad killer so it's fine; no it's not fine.

To make a long story short you probably see the game as not survivor sided overall (and it is according to all the top players). DBD needs to be a fair game more than anything else. It's only fair when the survivors are bad/disorganized.

-"To deal with meta, you should play meta."

In other words Nurse and Blight work fine so there's no problem - just play those killers. That's not a viable option. I enjoy playing the other killers and want every killer in the game to be viable. Every killer should be within 15% of the power rating of the very best killer.

    Every killer should have :

    1. Antiloop
    2. Some kind of fast movement (either 120% base speed or map teleports that survivors cant use - see monster hunter world teleports). Note : every map needs to be 9000m² or there are problems. How so? The old game had small maps and it was common that you chase player 1 and run into player 2 working on a generator. This does not happen on large maps.
    3. Fast downs.

If we had a league mode of some kind it might make sense. Imagine if you could only play solo queue only in a specific mode and you can't use Nurse/Blight but you cant use boons or DH. Or we could do the sensible thing and nerf those perks to oblivion like we did for Eruption.

Based off of your takes and how they align with certain other people here, I highly doubt it.

And yeah, everyone else has pushed for a "fAiR GaMe" too, you're not unique. Problem is, a "fair game" means a game where Killers and Survivors don't have to try, perks, etc are easy to shut down or just ignore and nobody has to consider switching up their builds if they struggle with anything meta or strong.

Hag does not need nerfs, Hag needs buffs, I have no idea why people keep repeatedly that popular opinion, her traps are garbage and easy to counter. Just run over them when she's distracted. So what if she teleports? Then the other Survivor can hop back on gens. Oh, she's "web reliant and 3 gen reliant but then she's TOTALLY AMAZING!!!1"? Well, that sounds like current Skull Merchant. And everyone thinks she's weak.

"you probably see the game as not survivor sided"

It actually is at the highest competitive level, but here's the problem: You most likely are not at a comp level. The majority here are not at a comp level. And if you're wanting SWF nerfed, you most likely don't play both sides, or are at least Killer biased, you have waaaaaay too many Killer takes to not be Killer biased.

And nah, not "more than anything else". Balance is used to achieve fun, if balance is in the way of fun, it gets thrown out. Simple as that. This is a game, not an e-sports device. The game needs to be fun for casuals to sell.

I also said more than that, I said "Or do... anything to counter meta." as well.

Not to mention that I should've been a bit more specific: You should stop playing M1 Killers specifically and consider Killers with anti-loop like Huntress, Plague or Nemesis. M1 Killers will always struggle against goated survivors, DH and COH can be gone and you will still lose to them without them making major mistakes. It's not because of "MUH DH", it's because they know meta strategies like optimal gen rush and being aggressive on gens. If you want to deal with their meta stuff + tactics, play a better Killer. Doesn't have to be Nurse or Blight.

Not to mention that, technically, most Killers do have at least weak anti-loop (Trapper with his traps, Pig with her Ambush, Myers with vault speed, higher movement speed and lunge increase, Ghosty with no TR + no red stain with a button press), but you want them to have Huntress-level anti-loop I'm assuming. Which is fine.

"Imagine if you could only play solo queue only in a specific mode and you can't use Nurse/Blight but you cant use boons or DH. Or we could do the sensible thing and nerf those perks to oblivion like we did for Eruption."

Nobody would play that mode without incentive.

And nah lmao, let's just fix Eruption and rework + buff boons. Because let's be fair, if you get what you want, you guys will move onto WoO or whatever perk shoots to the top next on Nightlight, and then write paragraphs as to why that needs to be removed because "you TOTALLY would've won if those darned Survivors didn't have it!"

    @Spectralfx said:

Most of this makes sense except for one thing.

it doesn't really address the efforts of the devs to balance the game so far.

Or on another topic, the map design being heavily survivor sided by their size and composition (plenty of pallets and gens blatantly adjacents to safe windows) and so forth.

I feel for killer right now way more than survivors. when survivors shows up and complain about something (eruption, Hex: ruin, pop the weasel... Hillbilly? Pig? ) the devs take the perks/ killer's basekit out and put them down like a dog.

but if they dare nerf let's say, Dead hard, we have a good time for a few moments at best before it comes back with a minor asterisk that does not affect the outcomes... effectively we back to square 1.

honestly, I am sick of how unbalanced this has been in the past and no one acknowledging that in the slightiest.

Do you listen to streamers? Because Otzdarva posted a map tier list a while back, plenty of maps fall in the middle with a few Killer sided maps existing. There are a few more Survivor sided maps than Killer, but not as much as you think.

And DH and Eruption are not the same thing, stop comparing the two. One needed to be nerfed ASAP because of how Killers would hold the game hostage and aim for 3 gens from the start of the game, the other does not because it's only extremely difficult for M1 mains to counter in ONE minor, specific scenario.

Not to mention that you're apparently forgetting or not mentioning the Skull Merchant patch, which will be buffing her anti-loop and making a certain highly requested add-on basekit.

  • It actually 100% would've, because those were the common, valid ones, and not just the ones from biased players.

Blocking the gen would've fixed "not being able to do anything", preventing the gen from working at 1 gen left would've fixed the "forcing 3 gen checkmates" playstyle.

  • @DBDVulture said:

-"Sorry, but the fact that you're on the Tru3Talent "nerf SWF" train speaks volumes."

An efficient SWF ruins the game for killer unless you play every game as Nurse/Blight. A simple fix would be : create a solo queue only mode. You pick a killer and a survivor and the game picks one of those roles for you to play. Nobody is in a SWF and everyone plays solo.

If you want to make realistic fair changes to DBD it would take some effort.

    1. Give the killer 1:1 regression with the survivors if 4 are alive. Each dead player reduces the rate by 25%.
    2. Give the killer Deadlock base kit. Make the perk by the same name add +30 seconds to the timer. Make Deadlock have rollback protection so that if you get two gens completed at the same time then one rolls back to 99% completion. Make sure that survivor's cant block a gen with a sneaky use of Repressed Alliance (deadlock would block that generator after RA finished).
    3. Make proper boon/hex reforms. Here we have two options: A) Make breaking dull/lit totems on kick base kit and make the perk do something else. How about - The obsession plays the game broken. B) Let the killer relight their hexes indefinitely unless all bones are destroyed. Give killer a "hex totem" perk slot.
    4. Make all maps smaller than 9000m².
    5. Give M1 killers a means so that a god pallet does not mean "you have to kick this pallet to continue the chase". Being able to rekindle Blood Favor would actually work to this end. Or we could just Buff Brutal Strength to additionally read : every 60 seconds your lunge attack can break a pallet. Or we could just make generators take +20 seconds base to account for maps that have way too many god pallets.

Mostly bad ideas, again, that demonstrate why the devs don't listen to the forums. And why I was right about it speaking volumes.

Your "simple fix" absolutely will be abused by Killers to ensure you always get solo queue Survivors, so that won't be happening. And to break down your list...

    1. Nope, hurts casuals SWFs and solos in the match.
    2. Nope, hurts casuals SWFs and solos in the match.
    3. Your Shattered rework sounds bad and unfair for the obsession, sorry. A doesn't include boon buffs when it should. B sounds interesting though.
    4. I can't math so I'm going to assume that's bad since maps that are too small are typically too easy to patrol, which shouldn't be the case.
    5. Or you can just kick the god pallet? This is such a miniscule complaint, god pallets don't buy much in the grand scheme of things and there isn't nearly enough to bother. And if you're going to go "BORGO", still not enough god pallets. RPD has noticeably more, but once they're gone, those rooms become dead zones.

Consider the following: To deal with meta, you should play meta. Or do... anything to counter meta. I have no idea why this community is so entitled that they should be able to easily and consistently shut down meta stuff (whether it be perks, add-ons, etc) while not changing anything about their builds or playstyles, not even perks or add-ons.

I sense you're a "Killer main" like Spectral tbh, your opinions are waaaay too Killer biased. If DBD ever looks at listening to pros for upcoming updates, I hope they filter feedback that comes from Survivor/Killer "mains" who give takes like this.

Nah, but the patterns typically aren't wrong.

Eruption needed to be changed for sure, but not to how it is now. Just disable it with 1 gen left and make it block gens instead. Done. Two of the biggest complaints resolved.

You do realize that if people are ragequitting en masse, to the point where it's visible as a data trend, that's indicative of a problem, right? It implies that something is so anti-fun that players would rather eat a penalty than verse it, and once it gets statistically significant and not just a matter of the usual sore losers who can't handle seeing Lightborn in their four-flashy lobbies or whatever - that's really unhealthy for the state of the game? And therefore it's something that BHVR is probably going to look into as a matter of game health?

I'm not saying that DCing is a good, or a legal move, or that I don't despise my teammates for it. But it's not some coordinated effort to crybully something out of the game. It's thousands of players deciding individually that they'd rather stop playing than continue to deal with something. And because BHVR wants the game to be fun, they generally try to address it.

It's not just survivor complaints this applies to. Take RPD. Or Boil Over.

People mass ragequitted when the basekit Killer buffs went live. This community is full of sheep and overreacts to stuff heavily.

As someone who’s mained merchant since her release I felt like I should post my thoughts about her changes

Firstly is the Claw traps. This change is pretty good overall and gives some actually threat in disarming a drone. Extra haste per claw trap is going to be very strong in a chase especially combined with the pallet add-on becoming base kit. Merchant will now have decent chase potential and a way to somewhat mitigate holding W if enough traps are active

Her drones being disabled until claw traps run out is another good change. It nerfs her 3 gen potential while leaving her chase since you’ll be recalling the same 1-2 drones during chase each time they leave a loop. Never liked her 3 gen ability and this will allow survivors breathing room when they hack drones

My only complaint is that her stealth is still pretty weak. The lingering undetectable should be buffed a bit more I’d say. Otherwise these are great changes that’ll make her much more fun to play as

These changes are indeed amazing, but my only concern is that Survivors now lose Traps automatically, which can make it harder to gain value during a chase since now there's a timer to get value from them.

But... hmm, maybe it won't matter.

If removing the self-heal makes CoH worthless in your eyes then that's fine by me, I still think it'd be pretty good and I'm even willing to buff CoH's healing speeds in exchange for dropping the self-heal mechanic so that it would still be worth running to the Boon to heal teammates. But I repeat: if you want to heal yourself, either use a medkit or Self-Care. (Or Inner Healing, I do like Inner Healing.) I'm even perfectly fine with CoH applying to both of those in exchange, so you can run CoH and Self-Care to make it functional. Yes, that's using two perk slots for one thing, and that's fine because healing yourself quickly without the help of teammates is really powerful. That's why medkits are the best item in the game, but at least those run out eventually. CoH is basically a team-wide unlimited medkit, and that's a load of crap.

Too bad it's not my eyes, the actual players will think the same. Self-heal is why people run COH, especially with the heal speed gutted. People travel across the map for healing because of self-heal (which is a good subject that jester brought up). COH becomes as bad as the rest of the boons without it.

And you actually think two people will stop doing gens and spend the time to run to a nerfed COH, even with heal speed buffed... you definitely shouldn't have a say in DBD's balance.

See, what will ACTUALLY happen, is that people will not run COH anymore because it's not efficient time-wise. Better to just run a different meta perk instead, because now those will be more worth it than COH. And then you'll complain about those next.

You just want to play hit and run killers with a hit and run strategy and never deviate from that in matches, don't you? You never want to chase further for a down, you want to camp gens and only get downs if someone is already injured. You can't play killers like Wraith differently, it's why you're fine with medkits and Inner Healing (because as you said, those run out), and okay with Self-Care because it wastes a huge amount of time + newbie trap. You want low-effort pressure to easily stay for a long time and it shows.

Two perk slots also isn't worth that, sorry. Maybe out of niche builds, but that will not be meta, and the top 0.1% you think you face will just switch to the next best thing... which you'll then focus on next.

they don't. Trust me. I try many things vs many survivors. Moonwalking, swinging with a maybe 0.5s lunge, tapping, waiting, flicking up to bait, faking powers. Some survivors fall for nothing. At all. Some survivors are basically unable to be caught. ESPECIALLY with m1 killers.

So then, those are the excellent Survivors in the game where M1s just struggle in general. And you want a popular perk nerfed because of top 0.1% and one specific usage where it's extremely difficult to deal with.

There are plenty of people who do actually make mistakes and fall for those baits, and that is kinda the issue here.

Maybe you're just running into the limits of true M1 Killers? Like, their weaknesses are there and it's documented playing as those Killers is basically acknowledging that you're going to deal with these top Survivors. Like, you're dealing with meta strategies and not all Killers are made equal. Hag, Wraith, etc. That is literally the nature of DBD. You can say "I shouldn't HAVE to switch Killers/perks/add-ons to deal with the best strategies!" except... if it's a M1 Killer issue, you kinda do. It is baked into DBD itself that certain Killers need certain perks like Franklin's.

Not to mention that I kinda doubt nothing works, I've run into strong Survivors themselves and I still find some small weaknesses in them when I apply my usual pressure for a small amount of time. If that is genuinely the case then it's possible that they're just having a good day and you're running into Survivors who are just "in the zone" unfortunately (which is a thing in PVP games). You aren't going to win every game in DBD, especially against Survivors who are cracked.

You've given me something to think about (aka how to more easily shut that down), but this is focused around one specific scenario with M1 Killers and how you can't easily counter it against cracked Survivors. When that's kinda expected because... they're cracked.

And rest assured, "but that's why I want DH nerfed!" isn't going to matter, they're still going to beat you because they're cracked and you're playing true M1, and therefore you're still going to lose without massive mistakes from them. That is DBD's long-standing meta.

Boon are certainly worth running. between CoH and the one that basically gives unbreakable... what are you going on about?

I see some of there almost every trials and they are very impactful.

    COH are certainly worth running.*

And the 2nd one is pathetically weak, easy to counter by just picking up. No value unless you bring a build to force it to work.

And I'm sorry, but it sounds like you're at low MMR if Exponential by itself is impactful in your matches. Or that you keep slugging (as Oni?) and then get surprised when people crawl right to Exponential and get up. I really don't know what else to say, picking up is easy to do and Exponential only really becomes a threat if you have multiple Survivors putting pressure on you through threat of beamer saves and sabotaging hooks.

I've said the same myself. It's really just the easy self-healing that is the problem. I'm fine with CoH buffing healing speeds, that's a strong effect for its limitations, but the self-healing is too much. Either use a medkit or get a teammate or run Self-Care. CoH is pretty much already "Self-Care+".

Nah, it's really not, you'd be better off running Inner Healing (or something) or running another meta perk in that case. It'd be as weak as the other boons AKA not worth running.

And unironically suggesting Self-Care... so, you want Survivors to basically throw...? Because Self-Care is a thrower perk and a newbie trap.

  • @Spectralfx said:

Shattered hope basekit would help killers for sure.

I don't get why anyone would say "ok but then buff boons"... boons are all over the perk pages I see after matches already, they already are better in every ways than hexes...

They currently are very impactful... killers needs help to deal with them effectively as snuffing them out just means survivors get to reposition them (which ironically could end up helping them?)

Killers need a definitive way to deal with boons the same way survivors can deal with hexes and no, boons don't need buffs omg

Dark Theory doesn't exist. Exponential is easy to counter (It's called "pick up the Survivor") Shadow Step is only good with perks.

Am I looking at an actual example of someone who "mains" a role in this game (in this case, Killer), and is super biased as a result?

I mean, I guess it's fair that you wouldn't know what Dark Theory is, that perk never took off so I wouldn't expect an unironic "Killer main" to remember what it is, but...

And you're also yet another person who uses the word "boons" when they really mean COH, because no other boon has nearly the same effect.

Boons overwhelmingly would need buffs after Shattered Hope becomes basekit and that's final.

I wouldn't use word struggle here. It's more of annoyance to deal with boons and it becomes a headache when it's a swf team that uses the benefit of boons to it's maximum.

If we talk about fun and casual match, boons certainly don't contribute well to this factor, at least for killer players. Killer role was barely any fun before boon introduction, now they are another sub-objective for killer to deal with when there are 4 survivors and 1 killer in the game. If there's anyone who needs extra objective that's certainly not a killer role.

    Nope, you struggle.

"Sometimes there's another boon brought too ( the Unbreakable One ) and when both are used together slugging stops being an option as well."

IDK, maybe don't slug then? That's the point of this perk, to stop slugging. If you're struggling against it, it's because you don't want to stop slugging. You don't want to change how you do things.

Also, fun and casual involves "anything goes" and being willing to take losses. If fun and casual means winning or making big progress, then that means you define fun as winning. Which is a pretty consistent issue I've noticed with the DBD community.

"Killer role was barely any fun before boon introduction,"

Sounds like you're burnt out and need to take a break.

You clearly don't face survivors who time the deadhards well enough at pallets then. If they're really amazing, they will time it when you swing. Else the pallet goes down. It's not counterable.

Alright, have you considered... faking swings then? Because there are indeed people who time DHs based off of swings... but then you use that against them.

And then, when they DH and drop the pallet, you later lunge at them because they will be slightly inclined to believe you might not do that again... I'm not even going into the full picture here.

Do any of you play fighting games, at all? Because several core concepts of winning matches in those games work with DBD.

I fail to come to agreement with you.

I believe the perk should get nerfed.

If eruption needed to get nerfed, than so does dead hard, end of story.

Because you've been ignoring what I've written.

And Eruption did need to get nerfed, but not in the typical BHVR fashion. Not sure if your logic is great here though, these two perks aren't the same. Eruption was more difficult to dodge in general than DH, off the top of my head.

I dont think I want all perks to be game breaking and overpowered. Maybe you do Mr. SUS.

Given that game breaking and overpowered, on average, actually means "any perk that has any effect or causes me to think on how to deal with it as Survivor or Killer", I would claim otherwise.

  • @Green_Sliche said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3373086#Comment_3373086

Most of the time it is already a COH being brought into the game. Sometimes there's another boon brought too ( the Unbreakable One ) and when both are used together slugging stops being an option as well. Right now when there's COH in the game you can no longer do hit-and-runs because survivors can just run into boon's area and heal themselves or get healed by each other. If you have an M1 killer who should be building up pressure by having people wounded, well, you are playing the role of the paid actor because you don't get downs unless you commit and a decent survivor will just run from a pallet to a pallet if you do so with 3 others hump the gens meanwhile. Should you try to apply the pressure elsewhere, it gets mitigated because wounded survivors just go to boon area, heal-up and return.

Boons as they are right now don't need buffs much, but them being re-appliable over and over is certainly a problem while shattered hope in it's current way is not a decent solution.

Are you saying you're struggling with Exponential? Which is easy to counter the moment you know someone has it?

"Most of the time it is already a COH being brought into the game."

Yes, because every other boon is not worth a perk slot.

And if you have an M1 Killer who should be getting wounds, consider running Sloppy. Amazing perk overall and makes COH users begin to spend note-worthy amounts of time off of gens. Or... idk, doing anything with your build to counter it instead of running 4 gen regression perks.

Like, if you're struggling so much to deal with COH (when there are some strategies to mitigate COH effectiveness or still get your objectives done with COH present and giving value), simply adjust your perks or add-ons (depending on your current Killer) to give an edge.

"I shouldn't HAVE to switch my build-"

Yeah, well, you don't HAVE to be on the forums trying to justify not wanting to take even small steps to make things easier for you, or ignoring advice on how to deal with COH, but here you and plenty of others are.

And if you haven't heard that advice, I can give you it. COH is difficult if you're actually dealing with competent Survivors and you're most likely going to lose multiple gens (you would still lose since they'd bring medkits instead), it seems like plenty of low MMR players who bring COH seem to fail at using it effectively... or at all.

The killer is punished because you make them play vs SWF. What do they get for playing against a SWF team?

    1. You get more difficult/frustrating matches
    2. You get fewer points.

Where's the "yes I want that" aspect for the killer?

I will remind you that the devs told us that SWF groups escape up to 15% more often than solo players. That's a game breaking statistical difference.

Punishing for playing with SWF would be giving the team a 5% permanent slowdown for each linked player for heals/generators/totems/chests/doors/etc.

Limiting SWF is not punishment. it is called " fair play".SWF is not fun to play against. Fair play is the idea that using an ability is fun to use and fun to have it used on you. SWF therefore does not qualify as "fair play". Given the choice most people playing killer would only want to play against solo queue players.

The alternative would be to give the killer extra perks because you are playing in a SWF. Let me play with 8 perks if I am in a game that features SWF and I would choose to play 100% of my games against SWF teams.

Sorry, but the fact that you're on the Tru3Talent "nerf SWF" train speaks volumes.

That stat was from before the HUD buffs, surely, and those buffs make a note-worthy difference.

Limiting SWF is actually 100% a punishment because there are plenty of SWF groups who play casually and will crumble with decent pressure. Your update will not only meet massive outcry, but will lead to plenty of casuals leaving the game.

8 perks if you so much as run into any kind of SWF, like a casual 2 man, is absolutely a riot btw. Classic example of why the devs don't listen to the forums.

  • @Emeal said:

Cause that would limit player freedom. (which is bad.)

Its a much better idea to keep Perks more relative by balancing them around if all 4 Survivors used them.

Nope, that's also a bad idea because that leads to perks being relatively weak overall and forgettable.

  • @Green_Sliche said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3373038#Comment_3373038

    Shattered Hope should be basekit.

There are 5 totems in the match which means survivors can rekindle their boons at least 5 times through the match. Killers can't rekindle their hexes at all and can have their hexes either cleansed or blessed upon.

There's no need to explain how killers being alone against 4 need their every perk dedicated to something and have at least some benefit of using each. If killer dedicates one slot to shattered hope and survivors bring no boons at all then it's one perk being thrown out from the very start. This is clearly not an ok thing.

Survivors can decide in chat lobby who's gonna bring boons and stuff. This should prevent them from having two players with boons in the game. Still, even then they can have 2 separate totems blessed. There are plenty of options how this can be worked out.

It should be optional basekit, but then boons need to be buffed accordingly, because then you would NEVER see any other boons besides COH, because nothing else is worth dealing with the risk of dumb teammates getting every totem broken in solo queue.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/368005/circle-of-healing-either-needs-a-total-rework-or-a-complete-gutting

So many suggest basekit Shattered Hope without even thinking how this will make perks that are already bad or incredibly niche like dark theory and exponential,, useless

That's exactly why we'd be buffing every Boon, including COH, accordingly. M1s can now just destroy boons in one go and invalidate them, so it's balanced.

Although, I still think people will not run boons if that happens, because then the risk becomes bad teammates placing boons everywhere and getting all totems destroyed... which solo queuers might not want to deal with.

And Dead Hard quickly reasserted itself into the meta despite being 'nerfed'.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LGHXT6CJQBMY/dead-hard-is-overpowered.jpg

A match where literally every survivor had Dead Hard just tonight.

Dead Hard got nerfed with a scalpel. Eruption meanwhile no longer has any real use since the main reason to use it was not the regression, it was the Incapacitation. The aura reading it has now is an utter joke and useless for most Killers.

DH was nerfed lmao, it was worse back then. You seem to think that nerfs are meant to stop you from seeing multiple of the same perk, apparently. And that because a perk is still used frequently because 80% of other perks are garbage, the nerfs weren't nerfs.

And judging by this, you're dealing with meta squads, looking at the other perks. Of course you're going to see 4 DHs. There's someone with a Hyperfocus+Stake Out combo, 3 OtRs, two Adrenalines and two WoOs.

You guys just want every perk to be like No Mither, don't you?

Agreed on the Eruption bit though. Should've blocked gens and stopped working at 1 gen left instead.

Dude, i don't know what you want. I do think he needs a smaller TR, but i don't think you should be able to damage survivors outside your TR with monitor without any warning.

About the ADS, every semi range killer has a delay before they attack, i already told you that. Deathslinger numbers are 0.4 to ADS and 0.5 delay to shoot. This numbers are very in line with other killers. I understand that quickscoping with him was fun and required skill, but it wasn't good for the game as made him too powerfull in chases and gave way to short time for survivors to react.

This is not unique to slinger, every other semi ranged killer has numbers similar or bigger than slinger. The only one that has better number than him is nemesis, but his whip is shorter and has to work with a 3 hit chase.

So no, if his numbers were drastically bigger than other similar killers like for example Victor post hit cooldown, i would give you reason. But he doesn't.

People have told you multiple times now what to do: Pay attention while on gens. You HAVE your warning, start doing it.

"About the ADS, every semi range killer has a delay before they attack, i already told you that. Deathslinger numbers are 0.4 to ADS and 0.5 delay to shoot."

So, we're going in circles now? And I already told you: Slinger's weaknesses means that he shouldn't need to be "consistent" with other Killers. You keep trying to make him "in line" with other killers while ignoring why he can't be perfectly in line with others. Range limit, etc.

You also said "similarly ranged", not "semi ranged", I assumed you meant Huntress and Trickster. Unless now you're changing your argument because of what I said earlier.

"I understand that quickscoping with him was fun and required skill, but it wasn't good for the game as made him too powerfull in chases and gave way to short time for survivors to react."

If Survivors always get plenty of time to react to everything a Killer does, that makes the Killer weak because then they will never get downs. Simple as that. You shouldn't have several seconds to always make the correct decision, not putting yourself in situations where you have to react is kinda a thing in this game and it always has been. It's why you should position yourself correctly like how using loops instead of running into the middle of nowhere is Survivor 101 because then that gives M1 Killers easy hits.

And no, ADS zoning was the problem, not quickscoping. You're forgetting the complaints.

  • @BlueHorkew said:

I don't care. They do the game, they have their reason and explained it.

So i want to give improvements and ideas that without being brute force approach and going against the concerns of the devs.

So what? Their reason isn't right if they're worried about Survivors staring off on gens when they know it's a Slinger.

And your ideas aren't effective enough unfortunately, and are just going to make people upset because they're micro buffs that don't fix issues. Look how people talked about Skully and the changes she received on PTB. People didn't like them because it didn't fix her core issues. You'll get the same reaction if your changes go live.

  • @RainehDaze said:

I just wish DH would change one way or the other to make its mind up.

Either you use it for guaranteed value to greed a pallet, or it's a mindgame and timing trick in an open field that has to be baited out.

Not both, where it can get guaranteed value if you have a tile to loop, and still wastes time in the middle of nowhere because you can't bloody lunge or use your power.

Wastes time in the middle of nowhere? Like, what, 5 seconds?

And name the Killers that can't use their power that aren't high tier/can't catch up easily that aren't Trickster.

Not guaranteed either, stop lunging and just follow the Survivor. If you think they're going to DH greed, just wait it out and then hit them. They can't drop the pallet after a DH before you can get a fast M1.

  • @Gandor said:

Those holes can be hits a lots of times. Best example for this one is his own map - saloon. He can shoot thru carriages and convert that into hit. He can do the same at short-wall gyms. Heck I saw some insane slingers that can convert the hits even in long-wall gyms and their miniature holes. Last time Otz (someone who does not play DS that much) showed how he can do the same at LT wall. Lots of rocks can do the same.

So again - in the end you are selling him short. And one more thing - even current DS is not weak by any definition of the word. Even by Otz - the killer is in the middle of B-tier. Making him the perfect average killer. So overall complaints about the killer sounds funny compared to say Freddy or Trapper.

So I will say it again - he can get buffs, but they should be in a way to make him feel better to play (and maybe even make him easier to learn). Not necessarily to make him stronger.

Oh, so... one map and weak loops? Short-wall gyms don't have those holes iirc, unless vaults count.

No, you mean miniature walls... which long-wall gyms have holes in them then??? I have never heard of those before.

And... so what? As soon as he shoots through a hole once, the Survivor will never let you do that again. Not to mention that would make him map-dependent, which is still a weak Killer.

EDIT: You did give me something to look up though, will admit that. But it's still map dependent.

"Can we also add maybe revert the ADS readying speed nerf upon entering ADS only? And just leave the current penalty if he decides to cancel ADS. This way he can do cool reaction shots again on Survivors, but now he needs to commit to his shots."

BTW, I said this. Instascope was never a problem, ADS zoning was the problem, I remember the complaints. That's why he should get a big cooldown upon leaving ADS. Easy.

  • @BlueHorkew said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3372132#Comment_3372132

I think you are underestimating Deathslinger.

Yes, he is weaker than huntress, nobody here is trying to say otherwise.

He is good and viable, but needs a few qol changes, his kit is good.

What are his problems, he is slow 4.4 and has normal TR which makes survivors run early against him. He is punishing if you miss your shots, he has a lot of useless add-ons.

His kit is good, tons of deathslinger mains that stuck with the character also think he is strong. So no, he doesn't need the ADS change, he doesn't need crazy changes, his design and kit is solid, he just needs a few polishes to become a solid A tier.

Actually, someone here IS trying to say Slinger is not weak, you seem to just be reading my replies and not checking theirs.

And he's not good and viable lmao I already explained why, you haven't actually debunked anything I wrote. Just doubled down.

"What are his problems, he is slow 4.4 and has normal TR which makes survivors run early against him. He is punishing if you miss your shots, he has a lot of useless add-ons."

You need to not post at 2:50AM, because it results in logic like this.

So now his normal TR is an issue to you? YOU were the one defending his current TR, now you're saying it's a problem?

His kit IS bad, the 4 Slinger mains that agree with you doesn't refute his weaknesses and how he is still weaker than Huntress, a FREE ranged Killer.

And just in case since you brought up ADS: "Can we also add maybe revert the ADS readying speed nerf upon entering ADS only? And just leave the current penalty if he decides to cancel ADS. This way he can do cool reaction shots again on Survivors, but now he needs to commit to his shots."

Just wanna point out the fact that I said "readying speed nerf only".

thats what you see - other people, more skilled or less, may have a different experience. And once again. People can force it at pallets vs every single killer who has to m1 at a specific pallet. There is a lot of pallets. As well as this, people bodyblocking force you to hit them in certain spaces, of which they can deadhard to get another healthstate to bodyblock with. It's just a dumb perk, it needs nerfing.

Yeah, other people who can't deal with something basic.

Gamers, if you know the Survivor is going to DH at the pallet, let them DH and then hit them. DH has a period where the Survivor can't interact with objects. Stand in the pallet itself and hit them, it should be a guaranteed hit if they try this.

The thing is, you can't tell. you can time a hit completely randomly and they'll deadhard. It can happen 8 times in one game. It could be a normal person or a cheater. You'd never know. This is another reason it just shouldn't give another healthstate.

Otz unmasked a auto DH cheater by swinging near them, and it worked.

1 2 3 4 … 9
