  • I mean as a Hag main and reading through this i agree that certain play styles are just boring to go against and against certain swf squads she gets rekt but if your just good and not playing scummy i don't see why you should hate her. Like sure it's basically a free hit if you run into a trap but she isn't as chase oppressive as deathslinger or a good nurse unless you run into back to back traps and get hit each time. I understand some people don't like not having control over the chase but cmon the trap had to be preset and is a one use before it needs to be replaced if you triggered it the killers power obviously you should be negatively affected by it. You can even avoid the hit entirely outside of chases and waste her time by setting it off at the traps active edge then running away.

Yes a Hag basement camping and heavily trapping a hook is unfun and strong, yes 3 gen's as hag is strong, and yes her addons are strong but just as leatherface is fun to go against (depending on who you ask) when he isn't camping Hag is fun when the player isn't being a dick. IMO I don't think 3 gen's as hag are that strong and most of the time it's necessary or it just happens because the survivors carelessly did 2-3 gens right away. That is actually how a few of my 3 gen's happen is just the survivors not being careful and spreading gens apart.

However as a good Hag flashlights and urban don't destroy her unless a whole team basically runs them which is extremely rare, it's the same argument of using clam spirit against doctor but even more rare then that. Flashlights are not that big of a deal unless there are more than two and even if there are just put on franklins and play around their items for a bit.

The perk should help the survivor not the killer. If a survivor can't touch a gen, then that helps the killer by having it equipped. If you are going back to the hook to find a survivor on a gen nearby you are still tunneling anyway so it doesn't matter if he is on a gen or if you find him crouched near it. The perk is helping not to go back on the hook instantly. If they have unbreakable when you slug, it is still only 1-time use.

A survivor can touch a gen but they will make themselves exposed to being hooked again, know this im not saying it should immediately deactivate the perk in fact i think it should deactivate after 3 seconds. If a gen is at 90% obviously it's best to risk doing it but DS commonly gets used on any gen above 40% simply because the killer can't punish you and slugging you isn't punishing you it's stalling and you will recover providing your teammates are not brain dead.

Also the perk does help the survivor regardless but it's anti tunneling not free progress on the objective, slugging a guy with DS off hook who went to a gen is often needed and it doesn't punish them. In a sense it has two uses like this because you avoided being hooked without the perk activating so you can save it for later.

I just can't for the life of me figure out the logic behind making her go get fountains while also making those fountains replace healing for less time than a teammate heal. It genuinely hurts my brain

she is a monster in a chase while in corrupt purge.

the trade off is survivors healing to give her the strongest ranged attack in the game.

to effectively use the pools you have to constantly use them when you can IF they are cleansing but don't go too out of your way to use them. the locations the pools spawn as well as what your patrol path is makes her kinda RNG but as long as 3 pools are usable near you it's fine.

  • I play her all the time she is fun just... not consistent due to the server.

Also i find that you have to have a build that is good even if survivors do or don't cleanse to do well. my build is pgtw, blood echo, infectious fright, and thano/bbq.

  • @Sluzzy said:

A perk shouldn't deactivate for doing the objective. That's telling a player if you play the game normally or if I hook your teammate first, you have to lose your perk. Would be horrendous.

A perk shouldn't allow you to have a safety net for doing the objective, that's telling the player to do the objective instead of recovering simply because that is more optimal and because you can't be punished.

Honestly why shouldn't DS deactivate when doing a gen? the killer can only punish you by slugging and you will more than likely get picked up later by another survivor or with unbreakable so you risk nothing by going to a gen off hook while gaining progress towards escaping.

If it did get deactivated then players would prioritize healing, looting, and cleansing instead of finishing gens more often which would be great for this game since survivors just focusing on gens destroys all none viable killers.

edit: I agree that it shouldn't deactivate from other players getting hooked, that's such a horrible idea i wonder why it is still popular despite how easy it would be to play around it to tunnel easier.

  • i mean you apply exhaustion for 45 seconds thats good at least on killers that can make multiple survivors injured and nearly every survivor runs an exhaustion perk, it doesn't need to be the same amount of time honestly since survivors can't recover if they run meaning unless they are on a gen that time they are exhausted could be greater than 45 seconds. Also 45 seconds is plenty of time to find a survivor that's injured to chase i honesty see nothing wrong with that aspect of the perk.

The main problem this perk has is actually only being good on legion and plague, unless it's reworked i don't see a reasonable buff changing that.

  • The reason DS is good is because of it's long timer and it's necessary to discourage tunneling, so im completely against that.

The only nerf it needs is it being disabled if you work on a gen for say 3 seconds and maybe also reducing it's timer AFTER all the gens get powered so you can't always craw out the exit gates.

Everything regarding it's interaction with the killer is fine, they should have went after another survivor or kept track of which have been hooked recently if they are getting back to back hooks. the only reason lockers get complained about is because killers go after unhooked survivors to slug them which is tunneling and they counter that by using lockers.

As for the reason why only generators should disable DS that is because they shouldn't be punished for trying to recover and do other things that isn't the objective. Healing should also not disable DS since stealth killers and insta down killers would be able to tunnel easier by letting the heal happen.

edit: im a killer main btw, with 2000 hours and 8000+ kills. I hate tunneling and being tunneled and as long as you don't do that the only issue with it is doing gens and having enough time to craw out the exit gates.

  • I personally don't want them to ruin cosmetics that are special which they already did for everything except legacy.

The thing is legacy was simply ridiculous to get it was a true grind, I don't really want them to add any since it shows who are the vet players of the beginning.

As for an event i'd rather get more interesting skins not a rip off of true legacy because it's on other characters.

They also nerfed Bloodlust during that period. So... on that point it´s more like a draw.

    its really not...

they gave us bloodlust during that, along with window blocking, buffed killer vaulting speed, and fixed a few infinites.

  • IMO the worst thing ever is actually hag with mint rag + MYC, throw on devour hope and you have a play style that rivals that of insta down hatchets even if the totem gets cleansed.

  • Also if your not at a pallet or vault of course your going to get downed that is literally the point of him and no rework they ever decide to do will change that.

  • how about you just learn how to force him to m1 you?

that literally is all you need to do and the chase becomes normal, it's easy to do it at vaults especially at a L T loop

  • Yeah i wouldn't mind it, giving him a green windstorm addon as base kit would be nice but they would also have to reduce the values of his windstorm addons so they still give similar speed as they do now.

Could you name some of those hard nerfs, survivors received in that period, please?

i mean it was for balance but... they pretty much nerfed chase mechanics so hard killers actually stood a slightly better chance.

  • I just see the same idea's over and over on how to nerf it and most of them are not really good.

the only two good idea's i have seen is disabling DS if you work on a gen and after the gens are powered the perk's timer is reduced to 30 seconds. I actually think both of them could be implemented and that would solve all the actually problems with the perk.

Most idea's talk about reducing the timer which isn't a good idea since that minute is what discourages tunneling, if it's shorter people will just tunnel then wait slightly after downing them to hook them. you can do that now too but it takes too long. making the perk's timer decrease at whatever speed is also not that good because the chase mechanic can be worked around and if the timer decreases when you work on things like gens it doesn't do enough since they can still finish that gen and have a good amount of time on the perk left. also the common idea of it disabling after someone else is hooked is way to easy to work around and in many cases won't even prevent tunneling.

  • this is exactly the issue a lot of players have with how they are communicating changes with us, they rarely announce changes they will do outside streams making it feel like our feedback isn't getting through to them that much. They really should just announce things like colorblind settings and how they are thinking of changing the new HUD outside of streams or do so before it becomes a issue like how it was over colorblind settings, that should have been announced during the stream showing us the new HUD.

I mean we will see soon if our feedback got through when they release the new HUD and based on the mountain of feedback i have read it should look nothing like it was when they showed it to us. From the placement of icons to the character portraits and even the overlays on perks, status effects, and character portraits there are a lot of things to be changed to make it look good and to satisfy the community.

  • Obviously yes, something as simple as colorblind settings was going to be kept quite about until it was complained about by someone with influence over potential sales. that could have EASILY been prevented if they simply announced that they have started working on colorblind settings, seriously devs if you read this just announce stuff that you know will get finished as soon as you start working on it if it's just a QOL thing that doesn't affect gameplay balance.

  • I get that some survivors are more individual focused but in general it is a team game, your chances of surviving skyrocket when you coordinate or just have all players playing optimally and doing saves, healing, ect. It is nearly impossible not to play as a team since no matter what your helping each other by doing almost anything other than nothing, doing saves is mandatory even for your own survival so trying to play solo is just dumb and next to impossible unless you plan to escape by hatch every game or the other 3 survivors can deal with your bs but that often results in them taking more hooks and possibly dying before gates get powered.

That is why some killers like deathslinger get complained about because the way to beat him is simply having the other survivors do the gens and keeping everyone healthy so you can buy more time when he chases you but a lot of people don't view this game as a 4v1 even in chases. A deathslinger against survivors who are just constantly on gens usually losses due to his lack of map pressure, sure he can down a single survivor quickly but he can hardly snowball or deal with multiple survivors so if he goes to a gen with 2+ survivors if they split up he can only go for one of you.

  • the traps are for stalling if this results in survivors getting traps off faster then no i would rather have them stay as they are.

I actually would like them to work like they changed trappers traps making it so the first few boxs most likely wont have their key but until they work on her addons specifically the tampered timer + extra box they shouldn't mess with her boxs.

  • As for server puke hits... just try to hit them up close or with a long stream to avoid that issue.

The devs really should look into this it's dumb how she has been inconsistent for so long.

  • I use infectious fright, thano, blood echo, and pgtw. She is addon dependent but all you really need is the yellow purge effectiveness addon, with good addons she is pretty strong but you can't use that to say she is strong.

i have a lot of success with it especially if survivors cleanse. it is weaker if survivors don't cleanse but honestly as long as the gens are not split up this build works regardless of if the survivors cleanse or not.

The general strat is simply trying to snowball with corrupt purge and get 2-3 hooks at a time or slowing the game enough to win. I find that you have to have a build similar to this to have success with plague, this has decent slowdown and good chase pressure that becomes insane if you get corrupt purge and survivors are near each other.

Im not saying she is super good im just saying that having a good build makes her playable and if survivors cleanse she is actually good during her time in corrupt purge. if you can use corrupt purge just do it and against survivors who cleanse a lot always use it if your passing by otherwise you might have to go out of your way later for it or they might use all the pools and reset them, IMO she is basically a better huntress when in corrupt purge and she is much faster so if you use infectious fright you can capitalize on this which is often how you win.

  • The main reason is just that most nerf suggestions are just awful

Timer decreases at twice the speed when not in a chase: killer can follow you without triggering the chase or just run into you shortly after and boom your down and hooked.

timer decreases at twice speed when doing interactions: doesn't nerf it enough, survivors can and still will do gens off hook and if they do it with another survivor they don't lose that much time. However out of all the bad suggestions this is the best but there are better ones.

more uses/decrease timer: i don't see how that would be good as the only reason DS works is due to it's long timer, plenty of people would wait it out if it was under a minute. As for more uses that is just a buff and it combined with a shorter duration is a overall nerf but not a good one since it buffs tunneling because again you could wait it out.

disable it when healed: killers will let you heal then go down you, this also makes running perks like we'll make it worse since it risks the unhooked getting tunneled.

disable it when another is hooked: this is awful and i don't understand why people think it would be good, do you know how easy it would be to play around this? Just think about the situations where it would get disabled there are way too many that result in you getting hooked again without a chance to recover.

their really is only two good buffs that i have seen and i have mentioned it a lot is disabling the perk if you work on a gen for a total of 3 seconds. That solves it's problem of players using it to do gens without getting punished which is what DS+UB is mainly used for but it doesn't reduce it's anti tunneling power which is a good thing since it really shouldn't get nerfed in that aspect except during end game. speaking of which The other one is simply decreasing the timer to 30 seconds once all the gens are completed so it can't be used to always get to the gates and escape, it can't be during EGC since survivors just 99% the gates.

  • More shards means you get the outfits you want faster which leads to you getting everything you want which leads to you saving shards for original chapters and that all leads to a loss of money for them.

they likely wont ever add another way to get shards it will likely always be from codes, leveling your player level, or daily loggings for an "event".

  • not a year im sure they could do a ton with just a single chapter or mid chapter update but they focus on other things instead. I personally just want a mid chapter update completely dedicated to perks.

the key rework is coming maybe within the next mid chapter or chapter patch but it will be this year.

as for slugging and camping there is no problem there and there isn't a solution, due to how this game works that is simply a base feature and it really isn't a problem.

...."It would break immersion"....Yeah I get it, you're absolutly against but at least try to be coherent, you are immersed in a game where survivors chase the killer, make fun of him, have as much power as killer if not more ? Like i read often here, DBD is not an horror game, its a action game with an horror skin, so its like you telling me you want no voice coms in CoD cause it remember you're not in a war...If this game don't need coms like you said, then get rid of SFW then, you will tell me that there are SFW who dont use coms ?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1884605#Comment_1884605

Your usename is "Basement dweller" with a bubba avatar, and you answer with a meme pic (which is funny to me tho^^) but you doubt about something that can be healthy for the game...The irony is over 9000 to stay in the theme.

I don't see how this could be healthy for this game and i don't see this being a enjoyable feature unless you like bullying the killer.

this is a completely unique game, the closest game to it was f13 that had coms and worked due to the need to give info to other players in fact the game was literally designed for it. DBD isn't designed for it in fact it wasn't even designed with any communication in the beginning it was added as an after thought for people who wanted to play with friends and where leaving lobbies which broke them to do so.

Having proxy chat is just a bad idea, your argument for it is really only so solo's can talk to each other but that isn't a needed feature and frankly the negatives out weigh the positives. We don't need it so why add it if it will make this game even more of a joke.

  • I think they should at least make it so her rng is more like trapper instead of already having a key in one of the boxs. So basically they have a low chance of getting it and that chance increases up to 100% for each box they search, it would make taking off the beartrap first or second try more rare... i think.

However i think that should wait until she gets a addon rework because it would make her tampered timer and extra jigsaw box even more broken.

  • @Nossy said:

SFW is busted cause they speak via a tier program, for the killer, its like they can speak telephatically. If the killer can hear them when they speak too close to you, like in a chase, they can't OoO your mindgame, they can't ask for aggro or BB without reveal their plan etc...

Trash talking will be easier to spot and punish and you can add an option to mute a player whose annoying so...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1884514#Comment_1884514

Its a fact, english is the world spoken language, i'm French, this game is made by French canadian i believe and tho I have to speak english in end-game chat and this Forum....All game with coms are the same, you have to speak english if you want that most of people understand you, this game target adults (its not Fortnite or COD) and I believe that every adult that had been in school till high school can speak basic english at least.

like i said i don't care if i can hear them it would break the immersion.

In f13 it works because you NEED to communicate you don't NEED to communicate in dead by daylight and this isn't a play with a group of friends type of game unless you do a costumes so most of the time you go against people your matched with and we don't need extra toxicity, unneeded noise, or better coordination for survivors.

I wouldn't mind if this was a thing in costume lobbies but i don't want this in my normal games.

  • I would rather not have every game i play feel like it's a swf

I also as killer don't want to hear survivors players talking telling me how much i suck nor do i want to hear the killer as a 5 year old.

proximity chat is just too out of place for this game.

  • dude where is the option to just say playing the twins isn't fun? You can really only win with them by slugging since getting 12 hooks takes too long due to how much time it takes to hit them with victor and go pick them up.

Also depending on the killer you get they can hard camp which is never fun and against a decent swf you might as well give up since your not going to be able to win if they stay on top of heals since slugging by downing multiple injured survivors with victor won't happen because there won't be more than 1 or 2 injured. Survivors who are smart also stick with injured survivors to kick victor if you down them so if your not in a spot to get to the survivor you downed you literally just wasted your time and if they have a healing perk just forget about having a chance to pick them up.

The Twins are just poorly designed for how fast paced this game is. Downing with victor and going to them as charlotte is too slow forcing you to slug, missing with victor is too punishing and almost always gets you crushed due to the dumb 3 second recovery, and against survivors who just stay healed you stand little chance to win as long as they are also getting gens done.

  • just play demo, leatherface, or billy. survivors drop pallets early against these killers pretty often and you can destroy them quickly which suits your challenge.

  • @Zozzy said:

Scottjund has already proven it does nothing. You gain an extra 2.5m using it to traverse the map and throwing it at a pallet and then breaking is slower and loses you distance.

The update is a net nerf when you look at what was removed vs what was given.

yeah it's for chasing, using it is the same as temporarily having 2 stacks of pwyf. It helps in a chase but using it for traversal is not that great so you use both of his bottles together.

This wasn't a net loss, we gained 2 things and lost one. we have even better chase capabilities and an addon that was almost required as base kit. what we lost was a addon that really only countered 3 of the 5 exhaustion perks.

  • I think the only thing he needs is one more bottle, of course you can use an addon for that but that would be the equivalent to using his reload speed addons before he got the reload speed buff.

  • well first you select leatherface

    then you put on insidious

lastly go into basement and wait for a free kill

boom you spent a max of 10 seconds in a chase for the whole game and still did your job

  • If he gets added it would mean the entity is stronger and IT fans don't like that.

  • @gatsby said:

Plague's issue isn't a power level thing. It's just that her power doesn't vibe with a lot of people. Because you don't get to choose whether or not you get to be Huntress on crack or off-brand Legion

You also have to have a build that works if the survivors cleanse or not making her only playable if you have perks from like 4+ different killers.

She is also just restricted by rng, if there are barely any pools of devotion where you need to be or pass by she has to go really out of her way to use corrupt purge. this is most noticeable on the swamp maps.

  • not that good 4-8 pallets is nothing, if they removed or limited the cooldown enough which is what they should do the perk would be decent.

Like making it so it is activation period IS it's cooldown would make this perk usable as the problem with it is it simply isn't active and doesn't get activated long/often enough for it to be good.

  • I think it's so you have to focus on everything, like how often as survivor do you actually get 32k blood points? If there wasn't a limit people as you said people would just specialize on one area and screw the other survivors out of those points.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

The thing I hate most is how insanely easy it is for experienced survivors to dodge Victors pounce. Being crushed over and over again from a single miss is the most frustrating and demoralising thing I’ve experienced in this game to date.

This is why i don't play them and it's not a matter of "get good and don't miss" good survivors are nearly impossible to hit unless your right on top of them and if they see you start doing that then they go and circle a decently sized object. Even if you are right on top of them they still have a chance of dodging due to how fast you can spin as a survivor.

Getting hits with his pounce is also inconsistent at vaults, there are so many times where i go through a survivor instead of hitting them and vaults are one of the best counters to him mainly shack window. Maybe im doing something wrong there but I feel like there is a moment in the vaulting animation where you just can't hit them.

  • the only buff i want is for is god awful 3 second recovery to be shortened, against good survivors if you miss your getting kicked unless you the went full distance with pounce without hitting anything.

Pennywise is a physical avatar of universal destruction. He was created at the same time of the universe and is only constrained to the form of pennywise because of the way humanity perceives things.

that only applies to the universe pennywise was born in.

the entity can possibly be much older and from it's abilities it's obviously stronger.

So while in the universe pennywise is in he is it's avatar of destruction the entity can pretty much be THE avatar of destruction or chaos of all universes.

  • the entity is suspected to be stronger if you know more about it's lore.

It's a multidimensional being that has consumed countless worlds and can bestow upon others abilities that can bend the fabric of space and cross dimensions. If pennywise gets inside of the entity then the entity can start feeding off it while sending an immortal killers after it that are probably immune to fear.

the entity would view pennywise as a child if anything like come on the only way pennywise can even stand a chance is if the entity fears it and why would it? if needed it can just send it's fearless killers after it.

  • Not against optimal survivors and even with the extra penalties it doesn't add up to much.

The problem with dying light is simply that unless you get truly lucky and get like 4 hooks before 1-2 gens get done the perk simply doesn't do enough. sure you can get decent stalling with it and thano if survivors are not healing and you have gotten a lot of hooks but that's usually when you get to the last gens but at that point survivors are working together on gens more so it negates the combo more or less and again it's assuming they are not healing.

  • start at the main building or shack, then go through the middle of the map to the main building/shack. after that you circle the map.

if you still haven't found it it's probably in the middle of the map.

this is for the standard open map.

  • I mean will you report it?

the only time i see faming with the killer being bad is if the killer is only working with 1 or 2 survivors and those survivors are screwing you over.

  • I play the game regularly but not as much as i used to. My first year in this game i would easily play for 8+ hours a day.

Good idea, when I start running out of distance I'll give duration a shot. For build I use Franklin's, Third Seal, Monitor, and BBQ. Just works well with how I play and buys so much time with people desperate for their item, makes hook states longer, and the bonus BP lol

I switch up my builds a lot. my first one was nurses, M&A, MYC, and STBFL. it was a heavy pressure build where i didn't play nice, this was before she was even buffed and i was still new to her yet somehow it worked out a lot.

Then i used MYC, STBFL, pop, and whatever i felt like. A standard all around build that just works as long as you get downs.

Currently im using Surge, pop, nurses, and STBFL but I think im going to try out some other builds soon since it surge is underwhelming.

  • IMO you will get better faster since you are not relying on a team to help win you the match.

I have been a solo survivor since i started with only a handful of times where i have done swf, I noticed that because i have to pretty much switch between all roles a survivor has to do regularly I am better than the other players in a swf most of the time.

As a solo survivor you learn to be more adaptable, dependable, and just better at judging how your team is doing. In a swf you get too used to letting other survivors do things like distract the killer, or preforming saves, or doing gens while you commit to a certain role.

  • @JHondo said:

Nice, I usually play a mix as well. If I'm annihilating right off the bat I won't set any new traps unless I'm locking down a loop in chase. I usually don't even have a "web" though just trap high traffic spots or strong loops as I come up to them. Using the setting speed and distance add-ons exclusively here.

I prefer the duration+setting speed, makes it so they don't gain too much if they abandon the loop since i rarely cancel trap placements and if they stay/trigger the trap the duration addons if you are patient most of the time will get a hit.

I have been using the distance addons more nowsdays since it is more suited to how i play, also because im running low on duration addons XD.

I also play her with a controller! Do you play her as more of an aggressive chase oriented killer or more of a defensive killer?

A mix, usually im aggressive until 1-2 gens are left but i keep the survivors out of the area of gens i want to defend last.

What happens is once i switch to being defensive i have a few traps in good spots that are away from my web so if needed i can commit to a chase if a survivor goes there.

edit: it does depend on the map tho, you can't just do the same thing on all maps and get the same results.

1 … 17 18 19 20 21 … 55
