you can hold the box and move it to a better spot; ideally away from the good gens. even if the chain hunt starts it only affects you. that would be Cenobites entire power, making somebody run to a safe structure periodically. be ause his personal power is a waterered down Clown bottle. which is fine in 1v4, but such a power is too time consuming in 2v8.
I don't think his slowdown would be any worse than Weskers. Cenobites would also have to br calculating the positions of not 5 actors, but 9. if they can chain a couple Box Hunt's, good for them. but I doubt the average one will do so consistently unless they are literally Singularity IRL
man, this lack of edit button is killing me; for as big as my ego is, I apparently don't know what 2+8 is lol

So legion is the issue then.
I suppose it's a chicken/egg situation. Onis issues are hard baked into the 2v8 concept, it should be universally agreed upon that such a killer would deserve hard nerfs and that'd be fine, because he'd still be fine. the mere existence of another killer will always make Oni viable. Legion gets all the heat because they are the perfect support killer but there will always be another to take that place. Once Legions gone, then it's just be Wraith and we are back to square 1.
All 3 of Oni Legion and Plague should be hard nerfed. Billy players made 2v8 Billy 1.0 work, idk why Oni players feel the need to defend his buffs. everyone's gonna play it anyways.

Same stupidity as in every game that has a comeback mechanic.
You punish the winner for winning.I really do hate it, but if can see why it exists; dbd is already so sacky and can swing into unwinnablr situations, and 2v8 amplifies those gains/losses exponentially. for example, actually looping 2 killers, or an easy double tap into unhook double tap tunnel. being on the losing end would shatter people's mentals even harder than 1v4.
at least this gives us a chance to comeback if someone dies literally in the first minute. I like to joke that someone who gives up is actually helping us by saying " nice, they strategically died to five us yellow bars"
-
seeing the whole level made the game feel too small, and not anything like dbd.

Chain hunt in 2v8 means no one can really do gens, which is the strongest part about it. And with another killer helping out, it's really unsafe to ever do the box and it can easily be patrolled if on the ground. That's what I would worry about in 2v8.
you can hold the box and move it to a better spot; ideally away from the good gens. even if the chain hunt starts it only affects you. that would be Cenobites entire power, making somebody run to a safe structure periodically. be ause his personal power is a waterered down Clown bottle. which is fine in 1v4, but such a power is too time consuming in 2v8.

there's plenty of other ways. for example, end game builds. spend 5 generators killing 1 guy, then use Rancor to kill another, then lock the others in with your other 2 perks. ez pz

Oni is fine, legion no.
is he, though? you can bully Legion, but Oni is just obnoxious with his ridiculous buffs.
-
also, the reveal is like a Still Sight that actually works in chase; you can play some bad areas a little better with the reveals
-
scouts feel bad when you get stealth killers, but thr auras are invaluable against the normal "meta" high speed killers like Blight, nurse Billy. although you counter Trapper too lol.
Iron will and urban has saved my bacon a few times, people don't expect stealth in 2v8. rebuilding the same shack pallet 5x a match is really funny.
-
the mending is fast thats literally not a big deal imo. I'll take Legion over Wraith

It's more so her ability to lock down entire sections and make the game 30-45mins long. Trapper isn't an A tier killer but on RPD he's terrifying because you have to go through certain doorways.
for what it's worth, Skullie gets wrecked by Urban Evasion

I have one: remove the hatch. Then there would be no need to slug.
without hatch there's no reason to not just hide until the server closes after an hour.

Except Hillbilly, who finds it impossible to navigate the piles of random s*** everywhere
I'll admit, as a non Billy player i consider it one of the positives of Toba haha. those odd Toba shaped loops make some mobility killers struggle which is a plus in my book.

I still feel like Oni is a huge problem in 2v8.
They should have ALL their buffs removed, and take 2x the blood points to get into power. Even then, they would still be insanely strong, but at least I don't think I would feel as bad on the receiving end because maybe it might feel slightly more earned….
I've always been of the opinion that we should have all the killers as just their base 1v4 versions first then see what needs adjusting. I can't believe we got a crazy buffed Oni, Nurse and Wesker(Weskers fine) meanwhile Nemesis and Slinger are in the corner.

@squbax said:
Easy, make the shapeshift NOT the main power, judt a little gimmick, it would be like nightfall, so you give them a good chase power and add a shapeshift gimmick.
That way once the good players know how not to get fooled the killer doesnt become useless.
this is why I shill for Parasyte; survivors figuring out the neon Claudette is an imposter doesn't matter when her face opens up and slices you up.

What do you mean by “worked their magic”??? Like the cosmetics are returning or they were only able to get permission to use the killer skins in 2v8?
sadly, all we know thus far is that the skins themselves have been blessed for 2v8.
to me, that's an...optimistic sign. I was previously despairing we'd never have the skins in 2v8 at all, but now that they are here it's definitely possible. it means bhvr and the licence holders talked so that's a good sign. originally, the licence was 1 year only, take it or leave it.
I'm hoping it'll come back sometime this year for the folks who missed it.
-
Mandy confirmed here on the forums they worked their magic :)
I've only been playing Titans this go round as I've been waiting for this since the first 2v8 : 3

@YamamuraVideoRentals said:
Strangely enough it seems the killers can also easily predict where a cage is going to go.
I had a spirit that downed me, then came all the way to my cage to proxy camp that. When it finally moved, 15 seconds later she had phased right to my cage again. Someone else had to trade just so I wouldn't get bullied out of the game.
any amount of time on Pyramid Head makes this second nature tbh; the current cage mechanic works the way it does because killers can proxy camp the cage and whenever someone went to save, the killer could push the cage away to make the survivor die in the cage
idk what the solution is, just highlighting why we are in this situation
-
I preferred the old version, but Tobas got something for everybody.

Ada Wong- The beach in the red dress

I doubt it; we never lost Bubba...

it's gonna be a problem until we get every killer
-
if I recall correctly, I hear BHVR themselves had said that after AoT, they don't want to do limited time only skins like that again. I hope the licence will become available again someday.
the skins were never allowed in 2v8 until now, so that gives me some hope for the folks that missed out.

Evil within being brought up 3 times gives me hope lol
did you buy the Yui Within or the Oni Within skins?
-
funnily enough, I think its like this now because people like me abused the mechanic to push cages away from survivors, making the hooked person die in the cage.
-
people say that chase is thr most fun part of dbd; therefore, 2v8 is double the fun.
-
I think the basekit unlimited Unbreakable is fine, because you kinda have to slug to gain some leverage including a match, time is just against you. you can't death hook everyone and insta hook and expect to win most of your games in this mode.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
Guide was by far the most powerful class in the last 2v8. If multiple Guides were hooked at least once, and were repairing generators as a group, the generators got repaired super fast.
And yeah, I get it that solo q doesn't always coordinate like that. But in the games where the Guides followed each other around, the generator speeds were way too fast.
Source: I always picked the Guide class last 2v8.
I agree with the others that we could have used a new class, however I think these changes to the Guide are good. The average person wasn't milking full value from the checks, so it's not a loss for them and the new tools are more fun to play with. When the Guides were working together, that was scary. I think some people overlooked the class because it's first iteration was the worst class iirc
-
Claudette looks like she knows and shes uncomfortable :(
-
I'll die being the only person to shill for Parasyte lol. since we didn't get a Kaneki survivor to go with Tokyo Ghoul, we could get Parasyte instead. both series are kinda horror, but are more on the philosophical end, like who are the real monsters?
Sadly that would probably be a survivor chapter, but Parasyte could be a unique chapter where the killers entire appearance is just a completely customizable, non licenced survivor. think of all the 1000s of dollars a hardcore fan could spend in just one killer lol. The Parasyte wouldn't even be a stealth/social killer like people wanted Legion/ a mimic killer to be, which can't happen because of comms
-
things can only go up from here, I feel. I don't think even Plague could make things any worse than it currently is.
I woulda said Wraith but we already gottem so yeah.

It's a tip that circulates on social media every so often, particularly TikTok but has also cropped up on sites like Wikipedia. Allegedly, you can tell text was AI generated if there's a lot of em dashes or other "uncommon" punctutation like semicolons or ellipses. The rationale being that they're unusual punctutation for humans to include in everyday writing like texts, e-mails, job applications etc. And I think there is a degree of logic to that, however, people often incorrectly extend the advice to creative writing too, where such punctuation is actually common and always has been. Especially where amateur creative writing is concerned.
Sadly, this has lead to a a fair few comments on popular fics asking "Is this AI?", or social media call-out posts of authors being "exposed" for using AI and other such nonsense.
as a semi colon enjoyer and ellipses appreciator I feel called out; I always had a hunch I was a bot and my parents just didn't have the heart to tell me...

Current distortion even stronger than before, the only difference is you actually need to play the game to get it, instead of being rat whole game and ignore any interaction with killer and get rewarded for it.
distortion is 100% worthless, so worthless that if you want to stealth or "rat" you have to take Object now, and perk designed to be the opposite of Distortion.
Rats were a minority. Otherwise I can say Bond is a rat perk, because the last 3 people I've seen use it have explicitly done so to team up with the killer. but I'm not gonna say that, because that's not how most people use it. it's a confirmation bias.

I also would like the opportunity to remember tow important things:
1-This bug can happen with any killer. It's related to the catch mechanic. Wesker M2 grab works in-game as a catch, so this bug will happen a lot more with him.
2-You can avoid the bug almost all the time if you don't hold ANY direction when you catch a surv, but sometimes this is difficult because of the "heat of the moment", specially with Wesker that you have to keep holding a direction to Urobend and hit survs into walls more consistently.in console speak, I gotta mind the stick drift, huh? thanks for the tip, I wasn't sure if the bug was pure RNG related to grabs or what. cheers
