"Wraith has no way to sneak up on anyone"
If you can't sneak up on someone mostly invisible and with no heartbeat then your technique is flawed.

That was supposed to say Spirit. Spirit can't sneak up on anyone. Her terror radius doesn't go away when she's invisible, it just sounds differently, also you have to guess at where survivors are. Assuming you hit someone despite those disadvantages, they will sprint away and it will take you so much longer than any other killer to catch up. Then they use a pallet or a window and they're off to the other side of the map again.

Worst killers in the game, Freddy and bubba, have normal movement speed

Worst killers are definitely Hag and Pig

I'd like this game to adopt a pretty standard system of automated timed bans for disconnects and a system in place for DC's before a time limit.

A 3 man survivor match is boring for the killer and survivor.

I don't think the system of ending a match before a min with a DC would work without the automated bans though because of people abusing it.

But yeah, the bans could go like, a couple of warnings, 30 min, hour, 3 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, week, season.

I'm just very tired of being stuck in matches with a DC at the start while playing either mode.

I made a thread about this a month ago. Not_Queen told me directly after one of the dev streams that it's "literally impossible right now"

    So yeah. Whatever that means.

I felt before the recent patch at rank 1 I survived about 50-60% of the time in solo. But currently during the event it's kind of like...10% maybe? Because everyone is milking flowers instead of doing objectives, and usually the first persons chase even if it lasts 3 minutes, no ones done a gen and that's already someone hooked and nothings been done.

But I did feel like the survive rate went down immediately during the last patch, even before the event. I'm not amazing at chases, and being immersed and hiding isn't viable either because it gives no blood points, and de-ranks you way too easily. But it feels like a lot of the things I abused before are gone, and chases are much quicker.

On the killers end, it feels way, way easier. Almost every game I've played has been a 4k, with the event currently the hatch hasn't even come into play in the last 5 games. Well...it was a 4k with my Michael, it wasn't when I tried out Freddy and Pig for the first time ever, but I didn't have any good perks and still did pretty well.

SWF's I think is really strong, I think solo play is lopsided in the killers favor by a good margin. It's also easy to avoid SWF if you are that afraid of them. I know some days I don't feel like dealing with it, and just leave a lobby when 3-4 instantly pop in.

Games are easier after rank reset? Say it ain't so. I wonder if that could be because of all the low ranks you suddenly get matched with. No that can't be it must've been the balance changes

Yeah a lot of people get to rank 1 then wait for reset and play KYF. And you’ll get your ass handed to you by people you’ve never played against that play like rank legendary rank 1’s at rank 10.

I have noticed that green ranks have better killers/survivors than red ranks. The “good killers” keep themselves in the middle ranks while all the sweaty forehead survivors/killers boost their way to Rank 1. The games are just better around the green/purple ranks. Once you get to about Rank 5 you get the boosted players.

I don’t like de-pipping all the way down to the yellow ranks because there is so many nooby survivors that you may get like one gen done so I usually get myself to red ranks before the season resets so I’ll reset back to Rank 10.

That's literally what I'm doing

  • Rank reset every month for literally no reason is what's causing this.

  • Nothing in the game is a banable offense

  • Or maybe the opinions of very popular and prolific people spread like a meme through the general populace.

Like, idk, global warming deniers. Or people who think Galileo is an example of a war between science and religion.

  • No what it actually is is the entity trying to distract you to make you not do gens.
The devs stated this before the event.

  • the environmental effects will directly result in more goopy droppy killers.

  • I never claimed the devs of this game knew what they were doing. Clearly they expected no mither to be more feasible. They also expected Nurse to not be gamebreaking yet here we are.

  • Don't bother, those numbers are actually a quote from Bahroo, who's a killer main twitch streamer. He said that "for himself he considers a game a win if he kills 4 survivors, counting hatch escapes as a kill. 3-2 as a draw and 1-0 as a loss."

I was there in person when he said it. He was talking about his personal feelings of satisfaction as a killer main. I might be misremembering the value of 3 kills.
I also disagree with the notion of quantifying your success in kills, but this is his oppinion and he's free to feel that way. Personally, if I get 4 kills, I feel disappointed because it means I got a bad case of matchmaking. I won because I was matched too low for my skill not on my own merit.

  • Yes. Money.

Licensing costs money. A percentage of every DLC for licensed killers goes to the owner of the property rights for that killers franchise. This is why you cannot buy licensed killers with shards in the ingame shop. If you could do that the devs would be giving out money to the franchise owners without actually making a sale.

Additionally, you have to come to an agreement with the franchise owner everytime you make a change that affects the licensed content, which in short means that licensed killers cannot get cosmetics without explicit approval of the franchise owner, which makes a cheap art project into a lengthy business contract. The skins would also have to be more expensive as the franchise owner would take a cut of every sale.

The reason for licensed killers in the first place is that they are marketing. Players are more likely to pay attention to a product if it's related to something they already recognize and enjoy. Would you rather play a game with Michael Myers or Stabby McMaskface?
The game is already popular enough that further marketing is not required.

  • It might be easiest to just calculate the net distance difference between survivor and killer before a 90° corner vs after, then estimate loops roughly based on corners. The speed is constant outside of corners after all.

You could probably do this empirically by putting the Killer X meters away from a corner, with the Survivor Y meters away from the corner (for X>Y of course), then run to the other side of the corner and stop the survivor at X meters and see at what distance from the corner the killer is (A).

You would end up with (X-Y) - (X-A) = Distance gain per corner.
then contrast against the amount of distance gained in the same time for a straight line.

  • I agree No Mither needs a significant buff but I don't think a borrowed time effect is the best way to do it.
Would it work? Maybe. Would it make the perk interesting enough to use? No. You are still at a disadvantage over not running it.

As it stands, Unbreakable is what No Mither was supposed to be. A perk that counters slugging. No Mither has no justification for existing anymore and thus has been abandoned. Not deleted from the game simply because there's no reason to bother.

Ask yourself, what possible benefit would you find tempting in order to accept permanent injured state, but what would not be as powerful as making you use no mither more than 40% of the time.

Except they're not OP you're just bad

  • Didn't read this thread but We're gonna live forever used to be much more powerful and was made into the near useless state that it is now on purpose. The reason for this being that survivors don't need encouragement to farm their team mates. While BBQ actively encourages not camping a hook.

  • alright I found this

The Denver Broncos, without clothes, padding, shoes, or helmets, can beat any high school or lower collegiate team most of the time. That's it. Nothing else. It's called skewed data and outliers, for those of you who actually paid attention in college.
Very few random high rank killers are in the same caliber as these dream teams. Now, if they did the same thing using versus # of hours in the game intead of rank in their data columns (which I highly doubt), the charts would look very different. And it might mean something.
The ranking system is too broken to use as anything for serious analysis. It's like quoting Wikipedia in a peer-reviewed paper; a.k.a. Meaningless, and Verboten!

  • Btw. The devs said before the event that they wanted to try out adding bonus objectives for survivors to slow the game down and avoid gen rushing.

  • Who's Marth and what did he do.

  • Then why was I just quoting McLean

Maybe the devs told you the stats that way cus the community keeps insisting that the only thing that matters are kills. Gamers are too used to think in terms of winning or losing they can't see the world objectively anymore.

  • Nice rules you came up with there  Way to be arbitrary.
Pretty sure if I get tunneled and camped and the other 3 survivors escape I didn't win anything.

People can't seem to understand that you don't win or lose in this game. You only have fun or you don't have fun.

He is trying to explain how once survivors fill all of their vials, they can no longer even harvest the plants for the points that the offering offers. There are currently 11 days left in the event, and every survivor that has their vial done can no longer participate in the ectra points that the offerings make available.

You still get the points from completed as long as you burn the offering. Except you don't even have to do any of the work, just sit back and let the people who haven't done their nectar do the job for you. I fail to see how this is somehow more difficult than working your way to a bunch of sporadically spawned hooks, or sacrificing two perks slots to reach them at the cost of your abilities.

So explain to me what happens when a full lobby of survivors who have already gotten their 30 vials play a game...

I will personally pay you 10 dollars if you randomly queue up with four survivors who have all their vials 2 days into the event.

A lot of my friends play mostly survivor and have already hit the cap.

Notice I said randoms, queue up solo, burn your offerings, farm them, and rake in the blood points.

This guy is legit arguing against something that would only benefit him. Some people really deserve everything they get in life

  • by the way I have had the same experiences. Some super high rank guy tea bagging just at safe distance with flashlight trying to troll me. Just ignore them and kill their garbage matchmade friends. Avoid flashlights by facing a wall as you pick up. They won't do gens cus they're trying to troll you, so you can abuse them hard.
They also will run around the hook trying to save their friend. Even more if it's a group of 3, then both will be near the hook trying to distract you. Just hit the distraction guy, then go right back to the hook the other person will be there.

Also you can just slug if you're worried about flashlights or getting bodyblocked. They won't run too far cus if they do you can go back to pick up the guy for free, just gotta hover near the SWF guy, his friends will try to heal him when they think you're chasing someone else. Free slug pile.

They have single perks cus their friend who plays the game a lot invited them along. So the rank 5 guy invites a friend and the friend doesn't play the game unless SWF with the rank 5 so they have no perks.

How do you even tie a game in DBD lmao

  • In this thread: DS users are complaining that Killers are toxic, and Killers are saying they're toxic to DS users.

Maybe don't use DS and they won't be so toxic

I never use DS and I never get camped except if I'm against a new player killer at the low ranks, cus they don't know how to play the game.

I have a ton of fun playing killer because I don't care about killing people off. Being Killer is like being a game master in Dungeons & Dragons, or like a dominatrix. You're there to provide tension and entertainment. It's not a competition. You're not proving anything to anyone except yourself.
Killers don't "win" if they get 4 Kills, and a survivor dying on hook gives you the same amount of Bloodpoints as one melee hit. As Killer you should focus either on Emblems or Bloodpoints if you need feedback on how well you are doing. Kills are meaningless.

But obviously most people don't think like that (except the devs like McLean).

    @Nicholas

  • Nah, the devs don't actually care enough to do anything about this. Only reason you got a response now is so this thread doesn't look as bad. They still wont do anything though.

  • The whole Obsession mechanic doesn't follow a consistent theme, as a result it's a mess.

Some obession perks want you to not interact with the obesssion, some want you to focus and tunnel the obsession, there's no coherent mechanic to it. It's just a badly designed idea from the ground up. If everytime you were the obession you'd go "oh damn I need to be extra careful" then DStrike might even make sense. But right now if you're the obsession, the only impact on the game is that everyone assumes you have DStrike, and then when dying light shows up in the debuff bar everyone's like "I never expected this". Literally zero gameplay impact.

My internet has crapped out multiple times IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MATCH, not in the loading screen, THE MIDDLE OF THE MATCH. It even happened in a KYF and the symbol that my friend saw was the cord unplugging, even though I never paused the game and manually quit.
